Randall King Releases “I’ll Be Home For Christmas”

Warner Music Nashville recording artist Randall King lends his signature baritones to a new rendition of the holiday classic, “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” available now.

“A little western Swing for Christmas this year? Try that on for size,” King shares with a grin.

“I’ll Be Home For Christmas” arrives as the Texan’s final release of 2024, as he prepares to conclude a year that marked both professional and personal highs – beginning with the launch of his sophomore album Into The Neon in January and capped by his recent engagement to his long-time girlfriend, Brittany Warthan.

Into The Neon arrived on January 26 to critical acclaim from Grammy.comBillboard and more, leaving Texas Monthly stating “his Texas bona fides are unimpeachable” and Holler lauding King as “the genre's neo-traditional figurehead.” The album yielded King’s debut single, “I Could Be That Rain,” which arrived as the most-added single at country radio, with 59 total adds to-date.

King stayed true to his road warrior reputation this year, headlining over 130 shows across the country, in addition to his 10-show Into The Neon - International Tour which included six sold-out shows in Copenhagen, Denmark; Amsterdam, Netherlands and more.

He’ll wind down the year with appearances at National Finals Rodeo (NFR) in Las Vegas, including his annual Tonk Vegas show at Stoney’s Rockin’ Country on Dec. 8 with special guests Drake Milligan, Kylie Frey, Jenna Paulette, Brittany Warthan, Wynn Williams, Clay Hollis and Tyler Halverson. About Randall King:
A West Texas native and self-described “old soul," Warner Music Nashville's Randall King has never wavered in his honky-tonk allegiance – in fact, he’s worn it like a badge of honor, growing with pride into a leading voice for today’s traditional country. Amassing nearly 400 Million streams with singles like “You In A Honky Tonk,” “Hey Cowgirl” and “Mirror, Mirror,” he’s kept the twang alive in country’s mainstream while also earning acclaim through deeply personal EPs like 2020’s Leanna, and his 2022 major label album debut, Shot Glass – which landed on both Whiskey Riff’s Top 40 Country Albums of 2022 and Billboard’s All Genre 50 Best Albums of 2022 (So Far). Schooled on icons like Keith Whitley, George Strait, Alan Jackson and John Anderson, but inspired by modern masters like Dierks Bentley and Gary Allan, King first built an independent, grass-roots following on the strength of his electrifying live shows – each one a harrowing mix of rowdy roughnecking, romantic tenderness and breathtaking emotion – never asking for permission to explore his creative vision. He has since gone on to headline all across the U.S., the U.K. and Europe, where he continues to play nearly 150 shows a year and hone his craft where it matters most. Named a Country Artist to Watch by everyone from Pandora and Country Now to Music Mayhem Magazine, his sophomore major label album Into the Neon, available now, takes that craft to the next level, as King’s neo-traditional roots meet the blood-pumping rhythms and sharp, arena-sized grooves of Y2K-era country and beyond. Co-produced by King and Jared Conrad, and featuring 18 tracks, punchy sounds exist side-by-side with timeless swagger, further blurring the line between yesteryear and today – even as King renews his forever-country vows. Into The Neon was named among the best country albums of the year (so far) by Whiskey RiffCountry Now & Entertainment Focus, and yielded King’s debut single, “I Could Be That Rain,” available now at country radio.

Singer/Songwriter Katie Kadan Releases New Holiday Track "Hey, Mr. Santa"

With one of the boldest, brashest, turn-your-day-around vocals in music, singer/ songwriter Katie Kadan is back with another original track for the holiday season. The cheeky “Hey, Mr. Santa” is available today and follows the Windy City, soul-singer's recent release, “Unless I Fall In Love” which gave fans another taste of her debut EP to be released next year. Listen to “Hey Mr. Santa” HERE, “Unless I Fall In Love” HERE and watch the official video for “Unless I Fall In Love” below

“Instead of your typical Christmas song about decorating trees, cozying up with a loved one or listening for sleigh bells, we wanted to write a Christmas song with the cheeky fun my fans know and love,” shared Kadan. “This song is for all of my single folks out there. I hope you find a Santa to get wrapped up with this holiday season.”

Written by Kadan with Johnny Reid who also serves as producer, the song finds the powerhouse chanteuse, with her rich swagger and stadium-sized vocal, playfully asking the “man with the bag” if he’d be her Santa tonight.

Kadan’s second original holiday release in as many years follows her new song, the sultry “Unless I Fall In Love” released last month. On the track she finds the self-worth we all need … waiting within. “Sometimes life can be like ‘If I'm not this certain way, do I have value? Am I ever going to have purpose?’” she says. “Am I ever going to be worthy of love, or will I keep falling short?’”

Pulling big emotions from simple, self-penned songs and delivering them with a blowtorch of a vocal, Kadan has finally answered those questions for herself. It’s up to each of us to do the same, but a little inspiration never hurts.

A classically-inspired soul diva for a brand-new age, sharing her growth toward self-respect through the empowering joy of music has become Kadan’s calling – her sense of purpose. A born entertainer and the youngest of four in a church-centered, deeply-musical family, it took Kadan her whole life to find her purpose. But now that she has, it seems almost inevitable.

Praising her “big, loud family,” the vocal phenom learned to harmonize as soon as she could talk and delivered her first performance in front of her church congregation at 3 years old. Homeschooled by a songwriting mother who loved the ‘60s folk revival, and with a father whose taste kept Otis Redding, James Brown and the giants of soul on repeat, music was embedded in Kadan’s daily life – so deep that when she couldn’t concentrate on her studies, the fix was to play some piano and quiet her mind.

Obviously talented, her parents helped a teenaged Kadan join one of Chicago’s top choirs, and they even scraped enough money together to send her to conservatory. But feeling like she had no shot at a career, she dropped out, taking odd jobs and teaching vocal lessons instead. “I was unhappy,” she admits now. “That's not what I wanted to do, but I had no idea how to get into the music business. And honestly, I didn't think I would have a place … because I'm a fat lady.”

Needing some joy in her life, Kadan knew where to turn. She found her way to the female owned and operated Underground Wonder Bar and got herself a life-changing gig. Thrilling local crowds with her dynamic voice – an explosive, all-natural mix of raspy soul and gospel power – she made a point to go her own way, performing original songs right from her first night … and people took notice. A producer from NBC’s The Voice soon got in touch, but still feeling unworthy, Kadan turned them down.

“I didn't want to do it. I thought, it's kind of a sellout,” she says with a laugh. “I was going to go back to school actually, because I was tired of the hustle. I was going to go for psychology, and I'm like, ‘Music to me is the healer. And if I can't be a singer, I’ve got to help people in a different way.’”

Eventually, though, Kadan changed her mind. Determined to give herself just one chance – and feeling like she had nothing to lose – she showed up for The Voice and stood out immediately, taking third place on Season 17 in 2019. Impressing judges and fans alike with her big style, big voice, and ability to leave her heart on the stage each night, Kadan’s joyful personality and clear comfort in her own skin tore through countless stereotypes. She became an inspiration to millions.

“Hey, Mr. Santa” and “Unless I Fall In Love” follow her summer release, “Without You,” the first taste of what fans can expect from Kadan’s debut EP set for release next year. Country superstar Blake Shelton today makes his BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville debut with the release of his anthemic new single “Texas,” kicking off an iconic new chapter to his storied career. Unlike anything he’s ever cut, the commanding new track also made its world premiere on Country radio today, impacting this Monday, November 18 via Wheelhouse Records. Listen below.

“The thing that struck me about ‘Texas’ immediately was how different it sounded for me, and I’m always looking to push myself,” said Shelton. “I think there’s something really special about this record, and it feels important to me.”

Produced by Shelton’s longtime, award-winning producer Scott Hendricks and written by Johnny Clawson, Kyle Sturrock, Josh Dorr and Lalo Guzman, the infectious groove finds a man left in the dust by a free-spirited woman who has no clue where she has gone, but speculates she’s probably in Texas. Putting a fresh twist on the age-old theme of lost love with a gentle nod to George Strait, who knows best where all the exes go, it’s drenched in classic Texas charm, enticing listeners to sing along.

Also available today (11/15) at 1:00 pm/CT is the official music video. Shelton teamed with longtime collaborators and directors - Ada Rothlein and Jennifer Ansell. The female lead for the video is Genesis Rodriguez, who is featured in season two of Taylor Sheridan’s CIA drama, Lioness

“My scenes are filmed inside a bar right up my alley,” joked Shelton. “I’ve worked with Adam and Jennifer many times, so they know how to make these videos easy and authentic for me. But until I saw the final edit of the video, I had no idea what she had in that briefcase! So tune in to find out what I’m talking about.”

Not only can fans catch Shelton today (11/15) at SiriusXM’s Music Row Happy Hour in Nashville, but the superstar will also be featured on tonight’s episode of CBS’ Entertainment Tonight and this weekend’s edition of CMT Hot 20. Then on November 20, Shelton will take “Texas” to the stage of ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live for an interview and outdoor stage performance of the song.

With 29 #1 singles, Shelton recently topped the charts with Post Malone and the smash hit “Pour Me A Drink.”

About Blake Shelton:

With 29 #1 singles, 52 million singles and 13 million albums sold and nearly 11 billion global streams, Blake Shelton has received numerous awards, including six ACMs, three AMAs, ten CMAs, 11 CMTs and six People’s Choice, among many others. Shelton just released his new single “Texas” on November 15. The fresh and addictive song captures the classic theme of lost love with a twist and nod to George Strait, who knows best where all the exes go! “This is the perfect opportunity to come back with something so different, and it easily felt like it should be the first single,” said Shelton. “It’s connected with what I’ve done but moves forward at the same time, and it’s the perfect start to the next chapter of my career.” Written by Johnny Clawson, Kyle Sturrock, Josh Dorr & Lalo Guzman, “Texas” is Shelton’s debut for BBR MUSIC GROUP/BMG NASHVILLE and Wheelhouse Records.

Shelton has a wide array of shows in 2025, with his “Live In Las Vegas” Residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The residency will occur on February 5, 7, 8, 12, 14, and 15. His “Friends And Heroes” Tour will Kick off February 27 in Lexington, KY, and feature Craig Morgan, Deana Carter, Trace Adkins and Emily Ann Roberts. Emerging L.A. Artist WELSH WOLF Releases New Single “When You Cry” From Forthcoming 2025 EP & Announces Nashville & London Dates In December

Thursday, November 14, 2024 – In a previous life, Welsh Wolf (born Paul Freeman) worked behind the scenes with the best of them: He played guitar on James Blunt’s giant hit “You’re Beautiful”; toured the world with The Who, Chris Cornell, Chris Isaac, Roger Daltry, and Brandi Carlisle; wrote a Top 40 hit for Sleeping With Sirens; and had his material covered by the likes of Meat Loaf and Robbie Williams.

Now, Welsh Wolf is ready to howl on his own, emerging as a promising act of his own accord and releasing singles that will culminate in a debut EP in early 2025. The first taste came with “Wreck,” released in late September that quickly racked up streams in its first week. Today, the L.A.-based talent is unleashing the next edition, “When You Cry,” another power anthem that calls to mind The Cult, The Killers, and Sam Fender and was also inspired by his early loves like The Cure, T-Rex, Dire Straits, Paul McCartney and Wings. Both songs were crafted after Freeman looked to start a new chapter and hunkered down in his studio for over a year to perfect his craft; each was produced and mixed by John Spiker (Filter, Beck, The Killers).

“It felt like I was allowing my true self to be seen,” Freeman explains. “Before it felt like there was a filter that I didn’t realize was even there.  But now, I was finally allowing myself to be myself.”

HEAR “When You CryHERE

Welsh Wolf will soon be taking the material out on the road, with shows planned in Nashville and London in December with more to be announced soon. Dates include:

November 27 Nashville, TN @ The Bowery Vault (ticket info)

December 12 East London, UK @ TBD

December 21 Nashville, TN @ Bluebird Café

Growing up in South Wales, Welsh Wolf was destined to be involved with music. At 10-years-old, he serendipitously found his first guitar sitting on a dumpster, picked it up, dusted it off and taught himself how to play his favorite songs, like “Band on the Run” (the only thing that would put him to sleep, according to his mother).

Freeman was a quick learner, and in due time, the budding artist moved to London, started a band called Boedekka and was signed to Boy George’s label. A few years later, Los Angeles was calling and, through a series of events, Freeman was linked up with Clive Davis who liked what he heard and set him on the path to success, not only touring with a who’s who of rock and pop but also finding his music landing in films including The Break-Up, as well as hit TV shows Jessica Jones and Insatiable.

Welsh Wolf is the latest chapter in the musician’s illustrious career, emerging under a new moon for a new time. Stay tuned …

LA-based Tombstones In Their Eyes shares 'In Your Eyes', previewing 'Asylum Harbour' LP

West coast psychedelic rock outfit Tombstones In Their Eyes presents their new single 'In Your Eyes', the final single from their 'Asylum Harbour' album, out November 19 via Kitten Robot Records, an album that pulls past the pain, numbness and chaos reflected on their previous album 'Sea of Sorrow'.

Based in Los Angeles, Tombstones In Their Eyes is made up of long-time members John Treanor (vocals & guitar), Stephen Striegel (drums), Courtney Davies (vocals) , Phil Cobb (guitar) and Paul Boutin (guitar), along with new band members Joel Wasko (bass) and Clea Cullen (vocals).

The band earlier shared the singles 'Sweet as Pie', 'I'm Not Like That', and the latest and heaviest - 'I Like to Feel Good', the video for which oscillates between electrified stage performances and scenes from a chilled drive through LA, reflecting the transformation inherent in its lyrics about how one's inner strength and individuality can be a catalyst for positive change.

Recorded at Kitten Robot Studios in Los Angeles and  co-produced by John Treanor, this album was produced and engineered by Paul Roessler (45 Grave, Twisted Roots, The Screamers, Nina Hagen), also known for his work with Josie Cotton, Hayley and the Crushers and Gitane Demone.

"'In Your Eyes' is a great example of TITE’s current obsession with vocal harmonies. When I brought the demo to Paul Roessler at Kitten Robot Studio, we listened to the isolated vocal tracks and we were both amazed. I think there were eight tracks of vocals that I had done at home and it sounded like Beach Boys style harmonies and layering. We then proceeded to recreate those in the studio and even add more," explains John Treanor.

"The song also features a diseased sounding lead from guitarist Phil Cobb, which is a great counterpoint to all the prettiness. Lyrically, the song is almost cheerful for us, no doom, depression, fighting against yourself or the world. The verses are all about letting go and giving in to love. The choruses are a pleading for inclusion."

Tombstones In Their Eyes began a decade ago through demo-swapping between two childhood friends separated by geography (Treanor in LA and James Cooper in NYC). It soon grew into a full-fledged band and a healthy stream of expansive music that is laced with fuzzed out psychedelic majesty. For Treanor, writing and performing is a way to deal with anxiety and depression, to speak about a subject without being the centre of the conversation, and to express oneself in a subliminal way rather than directly. TITE's music looks out into the universe as much as it looks inward toward the soul.

Named after a maritime phrase for a safe place to wait out a storm, 'Asylum Harbour' is an album of resurfacing, reflecting a new phase of healing after re-emerging from the pandemic. Treanor shares, "The album has been ready for some time, so it’s a relief to get it out.... Now we get to go out and play the songs from the new record live."

'In Your Eyes' is available exclusively via Bandcamp, where the full 'Asylum Harbour' album can be pre-ordered now. On November 18, this record will be released on CD, snazzy red vinyl and digitally everywhere, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp

UK Alt-Punks KID KAPICHI Release New Single "Newsnight"

Emerging “power punk” sensations KID KAPICHI have released a brand new single, “Newsnight”, stream it HERE! The energetic cross-examination is one of four new recordings featured on the band’s digital deluxe version of their sophomore album 'There Goes The Neighbourhood', out now on Spinefarm.

KID KAPICHI comments on the new single:

“In a world where alternative facts rule and the post-truth era is in full effect - who can we trust?

The all-seeing eye of first-person phone footage provides the world with an unfiltered account of events as they unfold; and when that doesn’t match up with the broadsheet headline or the scripted dialogue of your local news anchor, we must ask what the agenda truly is.

‘Newsnight’ questions whether the media want us well informed or scared & divided; duped into squabbling over toilet roll while atrocities are committed overseas & on home turf,  only to be intentionally distorted and misreported by the big brother of mainstream media.

We say stay vigilant and always question the narrative. Not in a tin foil hat way though; the earth is round.”

The new digital deluxe version of their acclaimed album 'There Goes The Neighbourhood'features two new songs, “Newsnight” and “The Sun Never Sets On Planet Cool” and two live recordings, “Artillery” and “New England” featuring Dumb Buoys Fishing Club, recorded at The O2 Forum Kentish Town.

Currently laying waste to venues across Europe with Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, vocalist/guitarist Jack Wilson commented:

“Last time we were out on the road with Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes was in 2019 before anybody had even heard of the word Covid or even the words ‘KID KAPICHI’. It’s safe to say Frank gave us our first break as a band and we owe him and the rest of the guys a lot. This tour is going to be a real celebration of our love for them and all of you in Europe. You know we can’t stay away too long.”

Kicking off 2025 in style, KID KAPICHI will join the likes of Parkway Drive, Nothing More and The Struts on the ShipRocked Cruise starting in Miami. Next spring, the four-piece will join You Me At Six on select dates of their farewell tour "The Final Nights Of Six". While on this run, KID KAPICHI will play a string of intimate shows on their "Up Close & Personal ..Back To The Neighbourhood" tour which is set to be raucous! Setting course for the summer, the band were also announced for 2000 Trees last week.

KID KAPICHI released their new album 'There Goes The Neighbourhood' on March 15th to glowing reviews and overwhelmingly positive fan reactions. Their third album in as many years, 'There Goes The Neighbourhood' is a statement of intent from one of the UK’s hardest-working bands - a band who preach a message of urgency. It’s a record that does what KID KAPICHI do best – make a real connection in the here and now, running the gamut of love, loss and what it means to be alive in Britain today.

“I know it’s a cliche, but this really is our best work ever. We put everything into this record, but actively decided not to stray too far from the path of ‘Here’s What You Could Have Won’, as we felt there was still more ground to be covered and honed on that vibe,” says frontman Jack Wilson.

“Lyrically and musically, it’s more concise, meaningful and deliberate, which ties everything together really well; it feels like a collection of songs from the same family.”

KID KAPICHI's journey from their roots in Hastings to international acclaim has been nothing short of extraordinary. With a sound that combines the urgency of punk with establishment-challenging and socially charged tongue-in-cheek lyrics, the band have carved out a unique space in the music scene.

KID KAPICHI are a band for the people and are here to help you party and protest in equal measure.

KID KAPICHI are:

Ben Beetham - guitars and vocals

George Macdonald - drums

Dela Kay Releases Gritty New Single: "The One"

Alt-Pop artist, Dela Kay, has just released her highly anticipated new single, “The One,” today. This single follows the success of her debut EP, Falling Into Place, which dropped in July and introduced fans to her unique blend of heartfelt storytelling and alt-pop soundscapes. "The One" delves deep into the emotional turmoil of trying to make a relationship work, only to face heartbreak and betrayal.

Reflecting on the song’s personal themes, Dela Kay explains, "Sometimes the people we love most aren’t ready for the kind of relationship we’re looking for. We’re forced to

walk away, even if it ‘hurts too much’ or even if we thought they were ‘the one.’" The song, co-written with her friend and producer Stefano Pigliapoco, captures the anguish of holding onto what could have been, while recognizing the need to let go.

Sonically, "The One" channels high energy and angst, but it's also filled with love and longing. With gritty guitar lines, driving drums, and a rock-infused bassline, the track brings the perfect balance of emotional weight and musical grit. Dela Kay’s favorite part? A stripped-down acoustic chorus that harkens back to her Nashville roots, offering an emotional break in the lyrics before the song crescendos in full force.

"The process of making this song was so therapeutic," Dela Kay shares. “I’ve come to be in a much better place now, and it’s empowering to look back on my journey.” She hopes this song will resonate with fans who have felt similar heartbreak, adding, "Sometimes the best way to heal is by healing out loud." With "The One" marking Dela Kay’s first release since her debut EP, fans can expect to see even more sides of the rising artist as she continues to work on new music. "I’m really excited about the new songs I’m writing," she says. "This release is just the beginning, and I’m ready to share even more of myself with my fans through this next project."

MORE INFO:
Dela Kay
, who hails from the vibrant music scene of Nashville, TN, draws inspiration from artists such as The Maine, Maggie Lindemann, Paramore, and Avril Lavigne. “The One” follows the success of her debut EP, Falling Into Place, with singles that have amassed over 771K streams and secured a spot on Shazam's Best New Music Apple Playlist. Dela Kay, who identifies as a songwriter first and foremost, believes that this phase of her career is her most authentic to date. With a commitment to releasing a series of singles throughout the rest of this year, she is determined to leave a lasting impression and make her mark on the music industry with her unique voice and perspective.

In 2014, her electro-pop style began to emerge through a collaboration with Grammy-winning singer/songwriter and producer, Femke Weidema; which eventually led to her first electro-pop/European-infused single release, “9 out of 10,” as Dela Kay in 2016. Named by Earmilk as an artist who was gifted “with a rich, distinctive vocal style” for her 2018 release of “Make You Mine,” Dela Kay went on to continue releasing singles and garnering hundreds of thousands of streams. In 2019 Dela Kay released “All My Love” through Sony Music, which ended up charting 49 on the top 150 global artist charts for Digital Radio Tracker as well as in the top ten for the Top Independent Charts. The release of “Think About You” shortly followed, which ended up becoming Dela’s highest-streamed song to date with almost 800k streams and counting. After a brief hiatus, Dela Kay marked her return by debuting a new, more alternative sound in 2021 with the release of “The Worst Part,” via Wonderland Magazine.

CARSEX Share New Track "Sitting Ducks"

Punk band CARSEX have released their ferocious new track “Sitting Ducks”.  It’s the follow-up to the Long Beach, CA based band’s successful single & video “Crooked Canvas”.  Both were produced by Steve Evetts (Sepultura, Alesana, Poison the Well, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Butcher Babies).  The track is a deep dive into current human-interest stories, and the shape of the human condition in 2024.

“Sitting Ducks” is a frenetic, all-out barrage of sound with distorted guitars & a menacing rhythm line that explodes into a supersonic metal/punk mashup. It’s a mix of Henry Rollins/Black Flag, with a bit of Danzig mixed in for good measure.  It’s an unrelenting anthem of angst.

CARSEX Singer Nigel Burk says “Sitting Ducks’ is a kind of “they live” type song. It covers the helplessness and monotony of a modern world and the meaninglessness that follows what’s viewed “important” by society at large, and the misalignment of priorities in today’s chaotic times”.

About CARSEX:

CARSEX amped-up sound is what the name implies: Sleazy, primitive, uncomfortable - and just as good as your friends told you it’d be.

Forged by the survivors of Long Beach music scene bands Damned Age, Black Velvet Brigade, and Red River Massacre, the five music veterans in CARSEX have slugged it out in the clubs of Orange County, California for more than 10 years.  While performing shows in these various groups on the circuit they became friends over time.  As the bands they were in either dissolved or changed direction – they decided to form under a new banner with shared musical tastes & goals, and CARSEX formed in 2018. Their sound is a mix of Circle Jerks/Black Flag/The Germs, with Danzig, Fu Manchu & a bit Queens of the Stone Age blended into a potent combination. They play hard and loud with no hint of an apology.

The band has previously released 2 EPs: 2019’s CarSex and 2020’s 2020 EP, which featured the singles “Your Generation” and “Lovesick”.   A new EP is being finalized and will be released in the 1st quarter of 2025.

CARSEX is very much a live band, and is playing shows in support the new music.  They’ve opened for Stillwell (Fieldy from Korn’s Band), The Obsessed, Mondo Generator, Suicide Silence, Unsane, Dead Poet’s Society, Narcoleptic Youth, and O’Zorn!, among others.

Her second album, Full Circle features 9 of 12 songs she cowrote. The songs are about what we all universally experience and reflect upon; love, loss, friendship, self-acceptance, disappointment, nostalgia, time and home. From the straight ahead rocking opening “My Feeble Words” to the mandolin driven “Love Still Remains” featuring backing vocal by Dan Reed of the Dan Reed Network, the album covers a wide range of styles showcasing Hall’s dynamic range.

In addition to Full Circle, Hall’s first album Sign Language is also getting a reboot and as Hall explains, “I am thrilled and honored to be on the Deko Entertainment roster and announce with great pleasure the Deko release of both of my albums, Full Circle and Sign Language! Singer/Songwriter Julie Williams Releases 'Tennessee Moon' EP

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Billboard’s Country Rookie of the Month Julie Williams, known for her soulful lyrics and authentic storytelling, is continuing to draw in listeners with her deep connection to nature and emotion. The queer singer/songwriter’s latest EP, Tennessee Moon, is available today, perfectly timed with today’s Hunter’s Moon. It follows recent releases “reckless road,” released on the Full Corn Moon and “just friends?”, which dropped on the rare Sturgeon Blue Moon. The releases all align with the full moon phases, as outlined by the Farmers' Almanac.

Billboard says her “keen artistic mission further evolves” on the EP noting the “intertwining elements of folk, ‘90s country, and pop with her soothing vocal.” Entertainment Focus calls the 2023 CMT Next Women of Country artist a “vital voice.” For Tennessee Moon Williams was inspired by some of her favorite singer/songwriters like Boy Genius, Kacey Musgraves, Allison Krauss, Emmylou Harris and Taylor Swift to create a story-driven sonic journey that was both dreamy and moody. Listen to Tennessee Moon HERE.

“Tennessee Moon was inspired by a picture that I took of one of my exes as they kayaked at Percy Priest Lake under a stunning Tennessee sunset,” shares Williams. “I watched this person - and our relationship - float farther and farther away from me, just as the sky was fading from orange and red to blue and gray. With that picture, and with this EP, I wanted to capture that wistful feeling - of trying to hold onto a beautiful, golden moment that you know in your heart is not going to last. This EP is an ode to my mid-20s - all the golden days, the dark nights, the flowers, and the dirt.”

Her Tennessee Moon Tour in support of the indie folk project kicked off Oct. 5 and will take her across the Midwest and East Coast with stops in New York, Columbus, Chicago, Philadelphia, and more. The tour resumes Nov. 7 at Nashville’s Blue Room. Tickets for the tour are available now at thisisjuliewilliams.com

In addition to the new EP and tour, Williams and her song “Southern Curls” will be featured in the upcoming Hulu docuseries “It's All Country.” Hosted by Luke Bryan, Williams joins a cast of stars including Mickey Guyton, Kane Brown, Wynonna Judd, Sheryl Crow, Lady A and Luke Combs for the series. With never-before-seen performances Bryan and guests will uncover the secrets, hidden inspirations and personal moments that shaped country music. Release date will be announced soon.

No stranger to the road, Williams has built her career there playing over 120 shows in 26 states in the past two years and captivated audiences at festivals such as Newport Folk Festival, CMA Fest, Tortuga Music Fest, High Water Festival, Cayamo, and AmericanaFest. She has also shared the stage with acts across genres, including Jason Isbell, Allison Russell, Mt. Joy, Devon Gilfillian, Brittney Spencer and Will Hoge.

Williams carries her mixed-race heritage and queerness as proudly as she carries her music. Raised in Florida, the singer/songwriter has been turning heads in Nashville’s country and Americana music scenes with her compelling mix of storytelling, soft-yet-powerful vocals, and indie folk production. That creative path is on full display with previously released “just friends?”.  The song, a blend of both classic country storytelling and queer reflection, was the first taste of new music from the EP. The video for the track, which just made its world premiere in Times Square via CMT, is a nostalgic, queer story that captures both the sadness and innocence of what romantic feelings for an old friend might have looked like. Watch the video for “just friends?” HERE.

Music has always been a part of Williams’ life - honing her singing talent in church and beach bars and belting national anthems before packed stadiums. She grew up listening to everyone and everything from The Chicks and James Taylor to Gladys Knight and Michael Jackson. Even though she was drawn to the storytelling of country music, she never quite found the sound that spoke to everything she was: Black, white, Southern, a woman, hopeful, truthful. So naturally, it was up to Williams to make this sound. “My music is mixed like me,” is how she describes it, “I want to tell the stories that need to be told.”

The Florida native started sharing those stories, and people listened. A student at Duke University, she was signed to Small Town Records whose alumni include Mike Posner and Delta Rae and sang as a vocalist for the Duke Jazz Ensemble. After graduating with a public policy degree in 2019, she moved to Nashville and found her musical home in the Black country and Americana scene. She was named in Rissi Palmer’s Color Me Country Class of 2021 and she was featured in a “PBS NewsHour” special on Black women in country music. In 2022, Julie joined the Black Opry, a collective of Black artists in country, blues, folk, and Americana music. Julie was named a CMT Equal Access artist in 2023, joining the mtheory backed program to support marginalized voices in country music.

“People want to hear black voices, black stories,” Williams says. “I was nervous about how my songs would be received by Nashville - but people want honesty. They want honest songs about real life, and for the artists they follow to take a stand.”

Tennessee Moon follows her self-titled EP, Julie Williams, with American Songwriter praising her “success through the power of her own voice” and the Tennessean noting she “discovers joy, maturation” on the project.

An activist at heart, Williams launched Green Room Conversations in March 2023, a series of performances and speaking on college campuses to raise awareness of sexual harassment in the music industry and her own experience with sexual violence. Williams hopes to empower the next generation of artists and industry changemakers and has already visited MTSU, University of Texas-Austin, and Duke with more campus visits planned for later this year.

“I’m writing my songs for the girl who cries in the shower as she tries to detangle her hair and is afraid to look in the mirror because she hates what she sees; for the 17-year-old who is just now learning to love herself; for the 20-or 30-something who is just trying to figure it out," shares Williams. "That’s who my songs are for.”

AMARANTHE - RELEASE NEW SONG FADING LIKE A FLOWER (ROXETTE COVER)

AMARANTHE, release today a cover version of 'Fading Like A Flower' from Swedish pop rock legends ROXETTE. Re-visioning a classic song in their own forward-thinking synth-driven, metallic melody, AMARANTHE demonstrates their ability to inject new life into a classic song.

The band comments: “Being born and raised in Sweden meant that you are subjected to an absolute onslaught of ultra-catchy music, starting with ABBA all the way up to the present day, with some of the world’s greatest songwriters and producers hailing from here. One of the most successful acts to ever come out of Sweden is Roxette, and if you were young in the 80’s/90’s, their music was EVERYWHERE. To do a tribute to 1991’s “Fading Like A Flower” is something we half-jokingly talked about during a few years, and when the opportunity arose during “The Catalyst” recordings we jumped at it. Roxette’s melodies and arrangements fit Amaranthe like a hand-tailored glove, and we’re now really excited to share this cover with you all!”

Stream 'Fading Like A Flower' (Roxette Cover) here:
Amaranthe - Fading Like A Flower (bfan.link)

Formed in 2008, AMARANTHE walked their own unique path from the start. With a sound that combined the sharpest, cutting edges of melodic metal, electronic rock, and razor-sharp pop, their impact was immediate and undeniable. Kicking off with their self-titled debut in 2011, the Swedes blazed a trail through the European metal scene and beyond, swiftly establishing themselves as a dazzling one-off, not least due to the unprecedented triple vocal attack that paired clean tones with exquisite melodic sensibilities and feral growls. Over the next few years, the sextet steadily grew in stature, releasing a series of praised studio records that jabbed persistently at the boundaries of modern metal.

AMARANTHE is:
Elize Ryd | vocals
Nils Molin | vocals
Mikael Sehlin | growls
Olof Mörck | guitars, keyboards
Johan Andreassen | bass
Morten Løwe Sørensen | drums

Funeral Usher in Doom and Gloom on 'Gospel of Bones'

Once again, from the ashes,  Funeral  arise with another soul-crushing masterpiece. Gospel of Bones is an emotionally wrenching journey into the abyss of sorrow and the resilience of the human spirit from funeral doom's unwavering custodians.

Gospel of Bones comes out this Friday October 18th, but you can listen to all nine soul-crushing songs today on the Season of Mist YouTube channel.

Funeral channel the haunting beauty of life's bleakest moments into an auditory requiem, echoing with the weight of existence and the fleeting nature of solace. Gospel of Bones is crafted with the fervor of those who have walked through the valley of shadows, embodying the mournful elegance that has defined the Norwegian band's legacy since their very first notes in the early '90s.

This somber procession is led by drummer Anders Eerk, Funeral's beating heart and soul. He's joined by the solemn baritone of Eirik Krokord, a profesionally trained opera singer. Ingvild Johannessen adds haunting depth with his mournful violin playing. Together, they bridge the chasm between doom metal and classic folk musician, a distinction that's highlighted by the new addition of traditional Norwegian Hardanger fiddle to the band's arsenal.

Melancholy. Pain. Loss. Solitude. Those had been just some of doom metal main themes ever since bleak pouring rain and the sound of church bell in the distance gave birth to the genre on BLACK SABBATH self-eponymous debut over five decades ago. But how many musicians have actually been bearing in their very flesh those gut-wrenching feelings?

Anders Eek – FUNERAL’s founding member, drummer and indisputable leader since 1991 – doesn’t particularly see it as a badge of honour, but he’d be the first to admit that somehow, the “death and loss we had to go through over the years were extremely painful yet inspiring, as a musician and as a human being.” And indeed, ever since their very first rehearsal in a basement in their hometown of Drammen, just outside of Oslo, Funeral had been ridden with problems and tragedy. Originally inspired by CATHEDRAL, CANDLEMASS, BLACK SABBATH, TROUBLE etc, they very quickly set out to create the most depressing and slowest form of doom/death possible at a time when their home country was being hailed as the birthplace of black metal. They went through several labels over the years, only to see them bust soon afterwards. Plagued by recurrent line-up problems, they even lost two of their key members Einar André Fredriksen (bass) and Christian Loos (guitar) in 2003 and 2006, respectively, to suicide and overdose.

But somehow, Eek never surrendered, but instead overcame all those obstacles by releasing over the years a slab of classics, each with its own, distinct personality, from the utter misery of the delicate yet none-so-extreme 1995 debut album ‘Tragedies’ to the more melodic and accessible 2001 gothic/doom masterpiece ‘In Fields Of Pestilent Grief’ or 2012 symphonic masterpiece ‘Oratorium’. Still, after the 30th anniversary concert in Oslo, april 12th 2022, also featuring the original singer Toril Snyen on the track «taarene», “life got in the way” as Anders puts it. “Some of us had kids, others moved out. Even I had quite a lot of things going on in my personal life and, at least for a while, maybe less drive to keep on carrying on the weight of the band on my shoulders. I never stopped writing music though because it’s something I’ve always done anyway.

Roughly 20 tracks were composed throughout the Covid pandemic(9 of whom made it to the studio), and yet again recorded and mixed at Toproom Studio, by Børge Finstad.

Violinist Øyvind Rauset, from the cult Norwegian folk-rock band FOLQUE, is performing on 2 tracks as a guest musician, as well as Espen Ingierd, with his very distinct singing-style in the vein of John Lennon, Michael Gira (SWANS)etc from cult doom/death band BEYOND DAWN singing on 2 tracks.

The album also contains an instrumental cover song , written by Kjetil Selvik, and is a melancholic piece only consisting of harding fiddle and church organ.

The lyrical content of the album is an autobiography of life’s mishaps of drummer/composer  A. Eek, and deals with real darkness, misery, pain and loss.  A Gospel of Bones.

Rising Star Cat Evers Releases Empowering New Track “Aphrodite,”

Rising artist, Cat Evers, has officially released her latest single, “Aphrodite,” today. The track, which explores themes of self-discovery and confidence, was written and produced during a writer’s camp Catattended in April of 2023 in upstate New York. Originally conceived as a vocal loop using her BOSS RC202 pedal, the single emphasizes the powerful layering of vocal harmonies—a signature element of Cat’s songwriting process. The production was completed after, drawing inspiration from the sonic landscapes of Frou Frou’s “A New Kind of Love” and Britney Spears’ iconic “Toxic.”

Lyrically, “Aphrodite” delves into the idea that “the more you tell yourself one thing is true, the more you’ll believe it.” The song is a reflection on confidence as a mindset and an exploration of identity. It speaks to the experience of living multiple versions of oneself and struggling to reconcile them. Cat invites listeners to embrace the discomfort of transformation and find confidence in a new identity, even if that confidence must be self-manufactured.

This latest release also marks an important milestone in Cat’s career, as it will soon be accompanied by her first-ever music video, set to debut later in October. Filmed in New York City, the video promises to visually capture the essence of “Aphrodite’s” themes of self-assurance and reinvention.

Growing up in Malibu, California, Cat’s passion for music began at a young age and evolved into a cross-genre sound that melds Pop, Rock, and R&B, each song driven by evocative storytelling. Having studied Vocal Performance and Literary Studies at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, Cat has performed her original music at prominent New York venues like Nublu and The Sultan Room.

George Strait’s New Album, COWBOYS AND DREAMERS, Arrives

It’s been 15 years since The New York Times distinguished George Strait as “a country superstar in complete command of his gift,” and with the arrival of his 31st studio album for MCA, Cowboys And Dreamersthat statement rings just as true today. Filled with classic country honky-tonkers about drinkin’ and not thinkin’ as well as sad songs and ballads about loss and cheatin’, listen to the album Cowboys & Indians Magazine notes is “a cornucopia of trad-country-arrangement beauty,”.

Dedicated to three of Strait’s very good, longtime friends and collaborators who he lost this year – manager Erv Woolsey, road manager Tom Foote and fiddler Gene Elders who plays on four tracks on this album – the Texas Troubadour shared, “I will never forget all of the good times we had together.”

Produced by Chuck Ainlay, who has been mixing Strait records since 1985, Tony Brown (Strait’s 1993’s Easy Come, Easy Go; 2008’s Troubadour) and Strait, the album’s title comes from a song penned by Jessie Jo Dillon, Keith Gattis and Bubba Strait.

“It is a really cool song,” shared Strait of the title track. “So cool that I thought that I should name the whole album after it. And sometimes I feel like the last of a dying breed trying to find where I fit. That pretty much says it all. ‘Somewhere between high on top of the world, and fighting with calling it quits.’” While the Keith Gattis reaffirming “Wish I Could Say” offers, ‘Wish I could tell you how the world ain’t ended, And how it’s all going to be ok.’

The follow-up to Honky Tonk Time Machine, Strait’s 27th No. 1 Billboard Country album, Cowboys And Dreamers, named “album of the week” by Associated Press, features 13 new songs, including three already released tracks -- “Three Drinks Behind,” “MIA Down in MIA” and “The Little Things” -- as well as “Honky Tonk Hall Of Fame” featuring Chris Stapleton and Strait’s rendition of Waylon Jennings’ “Waymore’s Blues.” All making appearances in his live set, Strait has one final show in 2024, supersizing his long-standing “Strait to Vegas” show at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium to mark the 37th installment of the engagement with Chris Stapleton and special guests Little Big Town.

About George Strait
George Strait is the King of Country Music, having sold more than 105 million albums and counting while earning more than 60 major entertainment industry awards as well as countless nominations. The Texas singer-songwriter is the only act in history to have a Top 10 hit every year for over three decades. With 33 different Platinum or multi-Platinum albums, he’s earned the third-most certifications of any artist in any genre, following only The Beatles and Elvis Presley, and with a total of 60, Strait has more No. 1 songs than any other artist in history.

The Texas troubadour's 31st career studio album, Cowboys And Dreamers, is available now. It follows 2019’s best-selling country album, Honky Tonk Time Machine, on MCA Nashville. That album quickly became Strait’s record-extending 27th No.1 Billboard Country album. The Country Music Hall of Fame member also earned his 100th entry on the Billboard Country Airplay chart with his single “The Weight of the Badge” from the project. For more information, visit GeorgeStrait.com.

Jenna Paulette Releases 13-Track Sophomore Album, ‘Horseback’

Working cowgirl and songstress Jenna Paulette has worn her authenticity on her sleeve throughout her career with a mix of grit and vulnerability. On her debut album The Girl I Was in 2023, Paulette candidly depicted her journey of self discovery following a toxic ten year relationship. Now, Paulette is arriving on the other side of that journey, with a project that reflects on all the experiences and values that have shaped her into that girl, with the release of her sophomore album, Horseback, available now via Leo33.

Listen to Horseback HERE.

“The Horseback album is a culmination of perspectives I have of myself—to the things my family instilled in me, the men and women I grew up with and the one’s I am blessed to be surrounded by where we live in a small town in West Texas,” shares Paulette. “A window into the way so many of us feel and the things we value.”

Consisting of 13 tracks, Horseback starts off with “Wild Is Her Favorite Color,” celebrating the freedom that comes with living authentically, before delving into “3 Kings,” a tip of her hat to the three kings that have influenced her lifestyle, “King George, King Ranch, King James.”

The album intertwines upbeat tracks, including previously released “Outside” and “Run The Damn Ball,” harkening back to the values of grit and hard work that Paulette has come to embody, with the heartbreak ballad “Chasin’ Whiskey” and empowering “Darlin,’” both of which signal the redemption of love lost and found again.

Having co-written eight of the 13 songs on the project, Paulette reflects on the songwriting and selection process, stating, “The songs were mostly inspired on the back of my horse driving cattle to the next pasture or set of pens. Sung into my phone in hopes of not forgetting the budding melody or thought. Out where there is enough room to think. Anything I didn’t write myself was most likely listened to on one bar of service in my husband’s dusty Dodge full of cowboys or horseback on the top of a hill looking for cows. I then put my heart and story into the lyric.

“So much has happened, so much good, since The Girl I Was. All I’ve got to say is the girl I was pretending to be before I got back to me…you ain’t getting that Horseback. The woman I am is here to stay. This album is a picture of who she was always meant to be.”

Perhaps the most poignant of all is Paulette’s title track, “Horseback,” which portrays Paulette arriving confident in this new era of her life. “The title track is my ‘Wide Open Spaces,’ my rebellion against the way people say things need to be…It’s the bridge between leaving somewhere and finding some place in what’s left of the middle of nowhere that is real and is home,” she shares.

To coincide with the album’s release, and in a partnership with Ely & Walker apparel company (Home of Ely Cattleman shirts), Jenna Paulette brings to life a functional working female cowboy collection called CowboyGirl. This collection addresses the need for functionality in the saddle, designed to offer all the same benefits that men need working cattle, but with a style that is vintage and feminine. Small details tie the CowboyGirl collection together and make it relative to today’s functional needs, while honoring generations past.

The collection will highlight two new ideologies: the State Flowers of Texas, where Jenna grew up, and Oklahoma, where Jenna’s family ranch was, and will be available exclusively at over 200 Boot Barn locations beginning November 1, 2024.
 About Jenna Paulette:
A CMT Next Women of Country honoree and an Apple Music’s Country Riser, singer-songwriter Jenna Paulette — a cowgirl who came of age amid the gritty realities of ranch life — is part of Nashville’s growing wave of female artists who are rewriting the rules and charting their own paths. Paulette settled in Nashville in 2015, where she struck up a mentorship with Ashley Gorley – a veteran songwriter with 70+ No. 1 tunes under his belt – which ultimately led to her publishing deal with Sea Gayle Music in June 2021. Since collaborating with songwriters Will Bundy, Rhett Akins and Jessie Jo Dillion, as well as opening for Mason Ramsey, Parmalee, John Michael Montgomery, Clay Walker and most recently Aaron Watson, Paulette has landed brand partnerships with Justin Boots, Boot Barn, Ely Cattleman and Ranch Water.

With the arrival of her debut album The Girl I Was in 2023, Grammy.com remarked the project as “transformative,” noting it “fuses the sounds of Twain and Miranda Lambert, tackling mental health with the somber ‘You Ain't No Cowboy’ and waxing philosophical on ‘Country In The Girl.’” She continued to spotlight her authentic western lifestyle last year, performing the national anthem at the National Finals Rodeo, making her Grand Ole Opry Debut and performing in multiple festivals including CMA Fest. Paulette recently signed with independent label Leo33. Paulette’s sophomore album, Horseback, is available everywhere now. For more information, visit www.jennapaulette.com.

ANDRE COMEAU Releases New Single “Love Like Poison”

Rock singer-songwriter Andre Comeau has officially released his latest single, "Love Like Poison," to all major streaming platforms. This powerful track is taken from his new album, Portrait, which dropped on August 2, 2024.

"Love Like Poison" showcases Comeau's signature blend of gritty vocals, emotive lyrics, and dynamic rock instrumentation. The single is already gaining traction on Sirius XM, with fans and critics alike praising it.

STREAM "Love Like Poison" Below.

From Rocker to Singer Songwriter, to reluctant reality TV star, Andre Comeau has done it all. Born in 70’s-era Detroit, Andre grew up steeped in all genres of music. Possessed with an instinctual sense of melody and dynamics, Andre has music in his blood.

His first band, Reigndance, which also featured Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age, The Dead Weather) helped ignite, but quickly outgrew the burgeoning Detroit music scene of the early 90’s. Shortly after relocating to New York, Andre was chosen to be a cast member of the inaugural season of MTV’s seminal reality show, The Real World. The show was an instant success, and Andre, the show’s “Rocker”, and Reigndance were afforded massive exposure. After three records and extensive touring, the band found themselves at a creative crossroads. They disbanded in 1997.

Says Comeau, “I’m very proud of everything we did in Reigndance. But The Real World, and what it ultimately became, was something I disconnected with. As our world has evolved into a reality based, unscripted place for instant-gratification it’s now easier to stand back and see it's impact. There were times it felt like a counteractive force, but in hindsight, it was incredible to be a part of something that transformed our culture and my life, both good and bad.”

Comeau relocated to Los Angeles in search of fresh stimuli and new musical landscapes. The 2000s found Andre returning to the folk music of his youth with River Rouge. The band released a handful of well received albums and became a highlight of the Los Angeles club scene, but disbanded in 2016.

In 2019, Comeau triumphantly returned to his hard rock roots with two EPs Wrong Within (2020), & Clean Break (2021), both are straight-no-chaser collections of ballsy Rock songs.

Now in 2024 with a new and more introspective LP, Portrait (2024) Andre Comeaufronts a power trio with veteran musicians Darren Elpant on drums and Gary Wicks on bass, where he manages to successfully marry his folk, rock, and blues influences and infuses them to create something familiar, yet new and unique. Toeing the line between classic and cutting edge, Comeau proves that guitar-rock can still be vital, original, and relevant. Hard, sexy and thought-provoking---Andre Comeau’s music seizes the listener above and below the belt.

NE OBLIVISCARIS Remaster 'Citadel' for 10th Anniversary

"Citadel is a blind plunge well worth taking...Ne Obliviscaris have crafted all their wild conceits into sprawling epics that flow with grace and fortitude" - Metal Hammer

"It will stand the test of time...Sit back, and drink the spirit of good metal with no regrets" - Metal Injection

"Nigh-on masterful" - Angry Metal Guy (4.5/5)

"Never before have we seen such range from a violinist in this context, all performed with maximum control and in such a way that the instrument rarely feels out of place or in any way a gimmick" - Heavy Blog is Heavy (4.5/5)

Ever since their inception, NE OBLIVISCARIS have surged forth as titans of progressive metal. Their complex soundscapes push the boundaries of the genre, weaving together fierce riffs and ethereal, harmonic violins with a dual-vocal onslaught that's as soaringly clean as it is crushingly harsh.

Ten years later, their second album still stands as a monumental achievement in the band's discography. To celebrate their groundbreaking milestone, Ne Obliviscaris are releasing what's now the definitive edition of Citadel. This new version was remastered by Mark Lewis, who mixed and mastered the band's latest album, Exul. Together, they've meticulously resurrected the original's power, ensuring every note, every growl and every whisper of the violin rings clearer and more haunting than before.

The Remastered 10-Year Anniversary Edition of Citadel is now available on all digital platforms.

Originally released in 2014, Citadel was an undisputed tour de force that carved a mark into the hearts of metal aficionados across the world. The album is split into three epic movements; each one covers an evocative landscape, spanning from ferocious storms on "Painters of the Tempest" to scorching mid-section "Pyrrhic" and the relentless awe of "Devour Me, Colossus". Together, they're a pillar of majestic fury and exquisite despair that captures Ne Obliviscaris' brilliance in its most concentrated form.

Ne Obliviscaris will perform Citadel and Exul in full this fall while touring Europe and the United Kingdom. Their old friend Dan Presland - who drums for Vipassi and Black Lava - will join them on this special anniversary tour.

The band will also be making new memories later this year when they perform a career-spanning set for their fans in Latin America. Presland will also join them for this tour, bringing both a thunder and precision that only he can command.
