Fencer Release Self-Titled Debut Album & Drop "Couch" Single/Video

The Los Angeles based rock trio, Fencer, have today released their long awaited self-titled debut album, via Blood Blast Distribution. This marks the band's first self-produced release, composed of 10-tracks and what is considered to be their most authentic work yet. Fans can stream the album here.

The album release is accompanied by the release of their latest single "Couch." You can stream "Couch" here. You can also watch the special music video for "Couch" below.

Speaking on today's album release, vocalist Field Cate shares:

"Very excited to finally have our first album out in the world. We’ve worked really hard on this and feel it’s the most accurate representation of what we’re all about, proud to have it as the first full length release in our discography. The recent single “Couch” is about boredom and drugs and sitting on your couch all day. The video is as ridiculous and silly as we could possibly make it so we hope it’s something that can make you laugh or maybe get a catchy hook stuck in your head. Please enjoy and make your own meaning of the tracklist we spent the last couple years creating | == |"

Not only was their debut album self-produced, but it was mixed by Henry Lunetta (5 Seconds Of Summer, State Champs, Grayscale) and mastered by Zach Fisher (Weezer, Rancid, Bad Religion). Prior to today's release, Fencer had previously dropped tracks "Junebug""Sanitarium", and "Joseph Courtney" which had racked up over 1.5 million listens across all streaming platforms. Keep an eye out for more Fencer news coming soon.

WHAT THE PRESS ARE SAYING:

"This album is a fantastic example of how to step out and make a scene.

In a mentally visual sense, this album stuck true to the band’s motto of “Everything must be blue.” Each song is a shade of blue, different from the last, ranging from deep, vibrant, and hazy to bright, pale, and cheery. All in all, Fencer couldn’t have put together a better collection of songs as a way to debut themselves. This is an album that will open many doors for the band.

5/5"

CHARM Music

"Field’s soulful, melodic vocals pierce right through you from start to finish and are perfectly accompanied by a bluesy bassline and rhythmic drums. Field’s vocal range on this entire album is beyond impressive.

This album was just a rollercoaster of emotion and you could feel every word rush over you.

Fencer has really set the bar high for their next album."

Hunnypot

"This album has something for everyone and very diverse."

Bleach Bangs

Los Angeles fans also have the chance to see Fencer LIVE tonight at Molly Malone's for their exclusive album release party.

Support comes from OC Natives Crossing I's Dotting T's, alt rock duo Joker's Hand, and the female-fronted It's Butter. Most importantly - Fencer will be bringing their iconic, fuzzy, manic garage opera sound to close out the night and celebrate their album release.

With an amazing setlist, this is a show surely not to be missed.

Tickets can be purchased here or at the image on the right.

ABOUT FENCER

Fencer, the self-defined garage opera band, is leading a new era of rock music with their own undeniably, dynamic sound. The Los Angeles-based trio consists of vocalist and guitarist Field Cate, bassist Scott Sauve, and drummer Cameron Sauve. Only two years after their inception, they became fan-favorite openers for notable acts such as Badflower, The Wrecks, and Dead Poet Society. Tackling the stigma surrounding mental health and its struggles, Field’s emotive and frenetic vulnerability resonates with listeners to further solidify the band’s electric presence. The trio have racked up an impressive 1.5 million listens across all streaming platforms, despite having not even released their debut album. Field’s synesthesia (seeing music in color), Scott’s vigorous bass-lines, and Cameron’s expertise in self-producing flow together to create an eccentric style that is certain to become rock’s newest novelty.

About Randall King:
One of country’s new crop of modern traditionalists, Warner Music Nashville artist Randall King grew up on the endless plains of West Texas – and his sound is steeped in their timeless beauty with a mix of grit and grace. He grew up singing in the back of a ‘93 Chevy Suburban, mimicking the pure-country vocals of stars like Keith Whitley, George Strait, Alan Jackson and John Anderson and over the years became drawn to the electrifying energy of modern stars like Eric Church, Dierks Bentley and Jason Aldean. After years of hustling and a road-warrior’s diet of 150 shows each year, King produced and released the defiant 2016 EP, Another Bullet, then followed up with a 2018 self-titled album. Now, King is bringing an organic, timeless sound to country’s mainstream with his major label debut album Shot Glass. The 11-song collection, seven of which were co-written by King, centers around a night out at a bar, with each track representing a different point of view of those in the room. The album was named to Whiskey Riff’s Top 40 Country Albums of 2022 and Billboard’s All Genre 50 Best Albums of 2022 (So Far), making him the only male country artist to make the list. With over 170+ million career streams to his name, the 2023 Music Mayhem Magazine and 2022 Pandora and Country Now Country Artist to Watch is looking to the anywhere-and-everywhere future with music that captures the essence of a Western poet who’s never been afraid to be himself.

IODINE RECORDINGS PRESS RELEASE: Quicksand's Classic "Slip" Being Reissued on Vinyl

IODINE RECORDINGS TO REISSUE QUICKSAND'S SLIP IN THREE VINYL CONFIGURATIONS

HARD COVER BOOK FEATURING CONTRIBUTIONS FROM MEMBERS OF ANTHRAX, HELMET, THURSDAY, RISE AGAINST, REFUSED, + MORE WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE

Influential label Iodine Recordings, which launched back in 1996 by distributing punk and hardcore records from a cramped apartment in Boston during the golden age of mail-order and print catalogs, rebooted in 2022 with reissues and new albums alike.

Iodine's singular mission and one that has not changed since its inception in 1996 — to release the best of the best in indie and underground music and ALWAYS put fans first.

Today, the label announces the reissue of a quintessential and definitive post-hardcore release — Quicksand's Slip.

The reissue will come in three configurations, including a hard cover book that is a "must own" for diehard fans and collectors. The book includes written contributions from members of Anthrax, Helmet, Sepultura, Thursday, Rise Against, Refused, Youth of Today, Thrice, Agnostic Front, Snapcase, Earth Crisis, Cave In, and many more. Additional details are below.

Pre-order it here.

Few albums fully establish and encapsulate a genre like Quicksand's debut album Slip does for post-hardcore. Originally recorded in 1992 and released in early February 1993, Slip is as relevant and important an album today as it was nearly 30 years ago. Slip is a musical bridge between the 1980s New York Hardcore scene from which Quicksand's members cut their teeth on, and the burgeoning sound of the '90s heavy rock. It's an album that stands toe-to-toe with other great records released that year, but the band's NYHC roots give the record an edge you won't hear on an In Utero or Siamese Dream.

Lead track "Fazer" throws listeners straight into a brick wall of heavy guitars. Quicksand's gritty genius is immediately apparent in the song: a group confident in their ability to mix heaviness, melody, and big-chorus sensibilities in a way none of their peers could dream of. Frontman Walter Schreifels and company merge their vast pool of influences (citing everyone from Bad Brains to Danzig) into a sound that's undeniably Quicksand. Nowhere is this more apparent than the album’s lead single "Dine Alone." It's a deceptively catchy song that exposed countless MTV watchers to crushing riffs, Schreifel's gritty-yet-beautiful yowling, and a still legendary odyssey of a bridge.

The album is proof positive that a band can write some of the heaviest riffs ever, while still pausing for moments to space out on songs like "Lie and Wait." The record concludes with a summation of all its accomplishments in "Transparent," offering up guitar riffs that manage to sound heavy and hopeful at the same time. "Transparent" reinterprets Revolution-Summer forward-thinking positive mindset in a new context of rock music. It's as though the band is aware of the righteous wave of great music they’re ushering in with this album. Slip gave everyone including Deftones, Glassjaw, Title Fight, and hundreds more the blueprint of what post-hardcore can accomplish. Quicksand firmly cemented Slip as an essential album in rock music and a testament to how far punk rock can go.

Slip was recorded by Quicksand members Walter Schreifels (Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today), Tom Capone (Beyond, Bold), Sergio Vega (Deftones, Moondog), and Alan Cage (Beyond, Seaweed) and co-produced by Steven Haigler (Pixies) and Don Fury (Sick of it All, Agnostic Front). Remastered by Jack Shirley at The Atomic Garden (Deafheaven, Joyce Manor).

STANDARD EDITION:
Available for the first time in over a decade, the 30th Anniversary Edition of Slip was completely remastered for vinyl using the original 1993 master tapes and includes bonus track "How Soon is Now?" The jacket artwork was reconstructed using original art elements and color improvements. Complete with several limited beautiful vinyl variants.

DELUXE GATEFOLD:
The Limited Deluxe Gatefold Edition includes a gold foil embossed Slipcase, a gatefold jacket, and a bonus triple gatefold poster, which features several never-seen-before photographs, rare show flyers, and commentary from Sam Siegler (Youth of Today, Judge, Rival Schools), Drew Thomas (Into Another, Bold), Jordan Cooper (Revelation Records), and Kate Reddy (108).

The Limited-Edition Deluxe LP and 64-page hardcover book chronicles the release of this influential album. Includes a foreword by Walter Schreifels, never-before-seen photographs, original art, rare concert posters, show flyers, and ephemera from 1990-1994. About POWERWOLF:

The story of POWERWOLF, beginning in 2004, reads like a true fairytale, but is the result of the efforts of one of the most hard-working and entertaining live band on the heavy metal planet.

POWERWOLF have secured a remarkable collection of gold and platinum awards, starting in 2015, when they reached Gold status for the first time in the Czech Republic with their album, 'Blessed & Possessed'. Additionally, both 'Preachers Of The Night' (2013) and the subsequent masterpiece 'The Sacrament Of Sin' (2018), as well as the groundbreaking streaming event 'The Monumental Mass: A Cinematic Metal Event' (2022), entered the German album and DVD charts at #1 (a massive achievement for an audio-visual release).

The thrilling DVD, 'The Metal Mass', (2016) also secured the #1 spot on the German DVD charts. Most recently, the new studio album, 'Call Of The Wild', entered the album charts at #2 (and staying for 16 weeks in the charts) while the hit single "Dancing With The Dead" went gold and platinum. The Best Of album, 'Best Of The Blessed', released in 2020, also successfully entered the German charts at #2.

POWERWOLF achieved massive success as they headlined large venues with their phenomenal stage performances on the almost completely sold out Wolfsnächte headline tours (2019 & 2022), as well as numerous summer festival shows in which crowds were thrilled and completely captivated by the wolves and their unique, (un)holy metal mass. Beyond many others, they’ve also headlined Wacken, Masters Of Rock, Summer Breeze – all massive live successes.

Once POWERWOLF performs the new studio album, 'Call of the Wild', for the first time ever, at their long-awaited debut North American shows in 2023, as well as the Easter mass in Cologne – with the special album 'Interludium', the whole world will be completely under the sign of the wolfpack once again!

Employed To Serve to Drop Deluxe Edition of "Conquering" on 3/10 + Share "Sun Up to Sun Down" Remix Video — WATCH☀️

Employed To Serve will release the digital deluxe version of their current studio album, Conquering, on March 10 via Spinefarm. This updated version will include four new tracks: a heady mix of the new, the Remix, and the live, in addition to a fresh cover image.

The brand new recording is "Take Back Control," a typically full-on number produced and mixed by Lewis Johns, who worked with the band on the Conquering album itself; the Remix, meanwhile, is an inventive re-working of Conquering track "Sun Up To Sun Down," featuring New Zealand metal three-piece Alien Weaponry; while the two live tracks were recorded last year on the Gojira tour of Europe.

Check out "Sun Up To Sun Down (Feat. Alien Weaponry)"

Justine Jones, Employed To Serve frontwoman offers"We always find it exciting to rework an already finalized song, and when the idea of doing it to a track from our latest album Conquering came up, the obvious choice was 'Sun Up to Sun Down.'"

She continues, "The idea of re-working a track is to add a new dimension to it, and what better way than bringing in new musicians to alter the entire DNA of the song. We asked the guys in Alien Weaponry if they would be up for this collaboration whilst on tour with them last summer. We thought their vocal stylings could really add something to 'Sun Up...' They seemed as enthusiastic about the idea as we were, so when we got back from tour, we sent them the track to add their parts and we were stoked on the outcome! It's also rather poetic, due to the time difference when the sun is rising here in the UK, it's setting in their home country of New Zealand."

Handpicked by Gojira themselves, Employed To Serve head back out on the road as part of the "Fortitude Tour" this month. The tour sees them play alongside Gojira and Alien Weaponry at the 10,400 capacity Alexandra Palace, London, before heading over to France to play even bigger rooms.

ETS's current studio album, Conquering, was released via Spinefarm on September 17, 2021 to mass critical acclaim; landing #4 in Metal Hammer’s albums of the year list and #6 in Kerrang! Conquering is a fully realized metamorphosis into the band they've always wanted to be.

Four albums in, and a steady stream of accolades in tow, Employed To Serve's meteoric rise from genre hopefuls to becoming one of UK metal’s most consistently captivating bastions is indisputable.

Dark times inspire 'Requiem For The Sun' single by Brooklyn post-punk duo A CLOUD OF RAVENS

“Their sound, though inspired by bands of their youth, is not rooted stubbornly in the past - their music feels of this time, with their messages transversing the cosmos” ~ Post-Punk.com

"Sonic luxuriance... racing at full velocity with tight-fisted riffs, cutting exactitude and danceability... a healthy reminder of the original and timeless allure of the post-punk sound and scene" ~ The Spill Magazine

“A Cloud of Ravens impress not only for the dark poetry, which forms and develops in the band’s lyrics and expands in their alluring titles, but the duo also rivet through their gritty and immediate sonic scheme, which feels pitch dark and hard as nails”Destroy // Exist

"A perfect blend of an homage to the past and the modern construction of the future. A heroic journey through a desolate land" ~ Sounds and Shadows

“They play cold wave, they play post-punk, they are Gothics, and they set to music some of the most striking lyrics you can find out there” ~ White Light // White Heat

Alt-rock post-punk duo A Cloud of Ravens present a new veiled calling card for their forthcoming 'Lost Hymns' LP, set for release on April 28 via Nexilis Records / Schubert Music Europe. With a hopeful eye towards the light, 'Requiem For The Sun' is a rich frenetic jaunt through the multiple facets of darkness we are all so eager to leave.

This new offering follows the singles 'Nature of Artifice' and 'The Blackest Mantra', which opened the door to the hallways of the new album, a collection of 11 tracks recorded from spring to autumn 2021 and mastered by ACTORS' Jason Corbett at the Jacknife Sound studio in Vancouver.

"Though it has nothing to do with actual organized religion, “Requiem for the Sun” takes me back to hymns I sang in church choir as a child, and informed the album’s title. To paraphrase a sentiment that dates back to the early 20th century; in a world of deceit and disinformation, both personal or worldly, sunlight, truth, is the best disinfectant. If this song has a message, it’s that," says Matthew McIntosh.

Formed in 2018 by Matthew McIntosh (guitar and vocals) and Beth Narducci (bass guitar), the Brooklyn-based duo emerged on the burgeoning dark music scene with a series of self-released offerings that garnered attention that led to their 2021 album 'Another Kind of Midnight', a mournful yet triumphant collection exploring the heart of a world amidst a devastating pandemic and torn by moral tribalism.

Effectively merging classic and contemporary post-punk and darkwave sensibilities, their somewhat poetic use of prose and metaphor expressed the trials and joys of the world in which we now find ourselves. A Cloud of Ravens' subsequent remix-based EP featured contributions by legendary producer John Fryer and such prominent artists as Clan of Xymox, ACTORS, Chris Vrenna and Ritual Howls.

Growing up in a family of avid music lovers and her mother being a professional opera single, McIntosh arrived at this genre of music after ample explorations in the punk, death rock and hardcore scenes, finally forging the duo's trademark sound with Narducci, whose background is more connected with alternative rock and industrial music, as well as professionally supporting fellow musicians in the A&R field.

As of February 3, 'Requiem For The Sun' is available across digital outlets, including Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon and Bandcamp. In addition to the full 'Lost Hymns' album release in April, fans can look forward to North American tour dates with Clan of Xymox and Curse Mackey in mid-2023.

The Ongoing Concept Return With Original Lineup + New Album "Again" + Band Shares "Prisoner Again" Video — WATCH🔄

THE ONGOING CONCEPT RETURN WITH NEW ALBUM AGAIN OUT MARCH 31 VIA SOLID STATE RECORDS

FIRST NEW MUSIC FROM THE BAND SINCE 2017

ORIGINAL LINEUP REFORMS!

THE ONGOING CONCEPT are back!

The band — brothers Dawson Scholz [vocals, guitar], Kyle Scholz [vocals, keys, percussion], and Parker Scholz [drums] along with TJ Nichols [bass] and Andy Crateau [vocals, guitar] — has announced its fourth album Again, out March 31 via Solid State Records. Pre-order it here.

Not only is this the first taste of new music from the band since 2017 but it also marks the return of the original lineup.

Get re-acquainted with The Ongoing Concept by checking out the new single "Prisoner Again." Watch the video below.

"'Prisoner Again' was one of the first songs we started writing, almost got scrapped multiple times, and then ended up becoming one of our favorites in the end," says Dawson. "We wanted to bring a classic The Ongoing Concept sound but were struggling in finding a way to showcase a new era of the band. The missing piece of the puzzle was adding TJ and Andy's vocals to the mix. Along with Kyle and my vocals, you get a taste of the range this album will have. Also, Josh Schroeder (Lorna Shore, King 810) absolutely crushed it with the mix!"

For a little history lesson and how the band came back to its original form, keep reading!

The Ongoing Concept emerged with the now-seminal Saloon back in 2013. On its heels, fan favorite Handmade bowed in the Top 10 of the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums Chart and Top Christian Albums Chart in addition to cracking the Top 30 of the Top Independent Albums Chart. In its wake, Kyle, Parker, and TJ departed, leaving Dawson as the sole original member for Places in 2017. As The Ongoing Concept went dormant, the group's catalog continued to react with listeners as the likes of "Cover Girl" clocked over a million Spotify streams and counting. After a period of quiet, communication mended between Dawson and his brothers Kyle and Parker. Between careers, marriages, and kids, they kicked around the idea of playing together once more.

"We’d been playing music since we were six-years-old," notes Dawson. "We lived and breathed the same band together. It's crazy, because I didn't know my brothers outside of music. Taking a break for a few years, we found who we were as normal people and embraced other interests. It was super healthy for all of us. One day, we were hanging out, and I said, 'You know I’ve been working on some little skeletons for songs, and it made sense. The only reason we got back together was because we had our time apart."

They self-produced Again and took their time. The Ongoing Concept integrated "lyrics and Easter Eggs" from previous albums into the record’s framework, embodying the title quite literally.

Outlaw Pop Artist DEVORA Shares New EP ‘God Is Dead’, announces tour dates with Bush

With influences that range from Nine Inch Nails to Dolly Parton, and a touch of Lana Del Rey thrown in for good measure – genre bending Outlaw Pop artist DEVORA has released a new EP "God Is Dead" via Tiger Tone Records / [PIAS].  She is also slated to tour with Bush in February (dates below).

The EP contains four songs, with previously unreleased track "Bonesaw" leading the way. DEVORA says of the ominously enchanting track: “Bonesaw” is about a night in a motel room gone wrong, in a dark direction. It’s a voyeuristic impression of the lines between romance and impulse being heavily blurred. The song opens with seemingly illusive pretty snapshots of an all-American day dream, but progressively turns morose and ends with a bonesaw left in the motel room sink. I used to read a lot of medical textbooks as a hobby and one of the surgical tools from the civil war era, the bonesaw, always intrigued me. I have a couple of vintage ones at home”. The music video was directed by Felicity Jayn Heath.

She continues: “A lot of my songs take place in motel rooms. There’s something really macabre and eerily temporary about a motel room where, for essentially 24 hours, you can be whoever you want to be in that room sealed and removed from the outside world... It’s like your own revolving set. What happens in that room stays in that room. A lot of serial killers have set up shop in motel rooms and I know I’ve definitely walked into some gnarly motel rooms where I’ve gotten hit with this feeling - like getting punched in the gut, where I've started to put the pieces together that something really messed up must have happened in this room… “Bonesaw” is all of the above”.

The EP, produced by Alex Aldi (Passion Pit, Holy Ghost!) and Cass Dillon (Goo Goo Dolls, Grey Daze) and mixed by Tony Hoffer (M83, Beck), is a collection of stories Inspired by true events that paint a picture of a modern Wild West culture. The songs are a haunting ode to the dark side of the American Dream. Gone are the days of the white-picket fences and beauty pageant queens; they’ve left long ago and made way for a new form of cultural anarchy, non-conformist beliefs and a generation of outlaws like DEVORA.

DEVORA’s debut EP, Outlaw, celebrated life in the fast lane, offering an inner glimpse into a mad world of exile and rebellion, love and lawlessness. It was her first installment of a fierce collective of stories and art that illustrate a perfect portrait of her dark wild west. The EP saw support at radio, peaking top five on the SubModern Commercial Specialty Charts, and press write-ups at places like AltPress, INKED, and Earmilk. DEVORA has amassed more than 3 million cumulative audio streams of her music to date. She has been honing her live show chops with solo dates in the Southern California area, along with direct support dates on a national tour with The Warning in the spring of 2022.

Tiger Tone Records was welcomed into the [PIAS] family in late 2020 and puts them among the company of revered indie labels such as Transgressive, Heavenly Recordings and Bella Union. Tony Hoffer is celebrated for an illustrious career spanning decades working with distinguished artists such as M83, Phoenix, Beck, The Kooks, The Snuts and many more.

Powerhouse 'Break You' single from Toronto's ON heralds U.S. West Coast and South-West tour dates

"Sitting pretty at the heavier end of the College Rock sound, the band has managed to pull off a clever blend of pop melody with raw rock abrasiveness in quite a potent sonic sucker punch. Their very tight weave of classic and alt rock coated grunge works fabulously" ~ The Spill Magazine

"A cool album. A smart album. A deftly crafted album. A rock album? Yes…but much more. So much more" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Its DNA intwértwined with sounds once pounded out by the likes of the Pumpkins, Hole and L7...  one of the most exciting outfits to emerge post-pandemic" ~ Global Texan Chronicles

Indie rock / power trio ON present 'Break You', a potent prism of the 90s-flavoured indie rock vibes offered on their latest eponymous 'ON' album, recently released via Toronto-based indie imprint Indiestructable Records.

The band will be embarking on a West Coast tour that will bring them to dozens of U.S. cities on the West Coast, Rockies and South-West, kicking off in San Diego on February 14 through to Seattle on April 2.

ON is a power trio made up of Lucy Di Santo (vocals, bass), Dan Cornelius(drums) and Steve Fall (guitars) - carrying on the legacy of their former 90's band - the Sire Records-signed Acid Test - with members also having been in other popular Toronto bands Danko Jones and Deliuss.

Always pushing forward with their trademark sound while also paying homage to their post-punk, grunge, old-school funk and 90s college rock roots, they dish out infectious guitar riffs with a dash of p-funk groove to create positive heavy music recalling the golden days of American college radio.

"'Break You' soars like a goodbye love letter to a toxic person, place or substance; it’s a decree of emancipation - and breaking away from what dictates and captures the human soul. It is an outcry, a battle cry, and finally a freedom cry of intention - all wrapped up in a hardcore punk-metal riff that end with Sabbath-esque overtones," says Lucy Di Santo.

Earlier, ON released the singles 'Blackmail' with video directed and edited by Michael Gucciardi and 'Underdog' with lively video filmed by Lindi Gordon and edited by Gucciardi. With these singles and focus track 'Hereafter', the band has been charting in the Radio Indie Alliance charts consecutively over the past half year.

Written in Toronto and New York, ON guitarist Steve Fall says the 'ON' album is "a document of friendship navigating explores in pain, and hope. Looking at the world with a collaborative effort to document what we see, witness and feel through songwriting and chemistry as a band." Following pre-production recording with Drew Howard at Star Sound Studios in Cape Coral, the band worked with sound engineer Darius Szczepaniak (Sum 41, Black Crowes, Big Sugar, Bare Naked Ladies, Jann Arden) out of Phase One Studios.

In April, ON return to the studio to work on their next album with legendary producer Martin Bisi, famed for his groundbreaking work with Sonic Youth, Swans, Brian Eno, John Zorn, Herbie Hancock, Iggy Pop, Helmet, Africa Bambaataa, Dresden Dolls, Unsane, Cop Shoot Cop and many other notable artists, at his BC Studio in Gowanus, Brooklyn.

The full 'ON' album is out now and available everywhere online, including SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp. It can also be ordered at https://indiestructablerecords.com.

Invent Animate Announce "Heavener" Album + Share "Immolation of Night" Video

Progressive metalcore head-turners INVENT ANIMATE have announced their new album HEAVENER. It arrives March 17 via UNFD. Pre-order it here.

To celebrate the good news, the band has shared the video for "Immolation of Night." Watch it below.

"While searching for inspiration to write this song, I had grown tired of recounting past trauma and things that have hurt me and still affect me," says drummer Trey Celaya. "It was making me feel powerless, and I wanted to take that power back and approach from a different angle. This song was born of a realization that all of my suffering has actually made me incredibly resilient and grounded, and I am not the weak person that I sometimes feel that I am. In reality, I have a certain confidence in life that I wouldn't have if not for my losses and failures. They've given me a lot of good characteristics and shaped me into who I am today, and it's a person I'm proud of."

And thus "Immolation of Night" was born. The song boasts stadium-sized, foundation-shaking breakdowns with a twist!

The video finds the protagonist entangled in unsettling distress, while the band delivers a back-breaking performance in an eerily monochromatic ensemble.

Keaton Goldwire — Guitars

UK indie pop artist Karamelien releases 'Wait For Me' single, a sonic exploration of incarnation

'A true work of beauty and professionalism, taking you to your very own ascension heights" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"Upbeat, a joyous folk-rock affair... bedecked in kaleidoscopic sixties sparkle, a slight splash of psychedelia and a whole tsunami of charm and grace" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"A hug of soulful indie pop with groove as infectious as its melodic breath and lyrical smile is poetic... seductive captivation" ~ Ringermaster Review

UK-based indie pop artist Karamelien presents 'Wait For Me', the third single from this East Grinstead-based project. This song is performed primarily through singer-songwriter Léanie Kaleido with piano, mixing and production by Chris Mars (A Flock of Seagulls, Damian Wilson).

Earlier, she released two Karamelien singles with long-time friend and guitarist Mark Foster. 'Lionhearts' is an uplifting track about love and unity in difficult times.  'Ascension Heights' is a moving work of beauty, featuring bassist Mo Pleasure (Earth, Wind & Fire, Michael Jackson, Ray Charles) with guidance by Paul Statham (Dido, Simple Minds, Kylie Minogue, Natalie Imbruglia). Both tracks were produced at OX4 Sound Studio by RIDE's Mark Gardener, who also guided her critically acclaimed 'How To Weigh A Whale Without A Scale' LP (2021).

"Since the last release, I've been writing and producing from my studio at home. The inspiration for this song came through hearing the story of the relative of a dear friend of mine, who had experienced intense feelings of reincarnation, which were later backed up through historical research. It's a beautiful story and one that has been made into a book. 'Wait For Me' is inspired by the love story that accompanied this experience; a love that transcends life and death," says Léanie Kaleido.

"As a Buddhist, the idea of reincarnation is something that still baffles me, but I love the idea that it might be true. I think that, regardless of what you believe, the song speaks to anyone who has lost someone they loved very dearly. I wrote the lyrics with the intention that they could be the words of the person who has passed away, or the person they have left behind. It was important to me to let this song be used in a way that helps anyone struggling with love and loss. I hope it does."

Though the timing of this single's release is purely coincidental, a song about reincarnation is a timely occurrence given that Léanie’s father Top Topham, the original and founding lead guitarist of seminal R&B group The Yardbirds, passed away on January 23rd after battling dementia for several years.

When Top left the band through parental pressure to finish his art course, he was succeeded by Eric Clapton, then later Jeff Beck and finally Jimmy Page, who went on to form Led Zeppelin. Top continued to have a solo music career with Blues Horizon Records and played with Christine McVie and Peter Green. He also worked as a fine artist and interior designer, but re-joined The Yardbirds for part of their 50th anniversary tour.

“My father was a huge influence on me both musically and spiritually, and I will always be grateful to him for that. He was always so supportive of my own work and we often played music together. I sampled his beautiful instrumental track 'Ascension Heights' and wrote the lyrics as a tribute to his spirituality, which was a huge part of his life. All of his children miss his presence greatly.”

'Wait For Me' will be released on February 4 on Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where 'Ascension Heights' and 'Lionhearts' are already available.

Music Health Alliance Kicks Off 10th Anniversary Year with Help from Dierks Bentley

Music Health Alliance Celebrates Ten Years Of Helping To Heal The Music As The Music Industry’s Critical Non-Profit Healthcare Resource

Over 100 million dollars saved in healthcare costs, providing free healthcare advocacy to over 20,000 music industry professionals in all 50 U.S. states

Music Health Alliance (MHA), the music industry’s critical non-profit healthcare resource, is marking major milestones in its mission to provide free healthcare advocacy and resources to music industry professionals. As the non-profit celebrates its first decade of providing free healthcare advocacy and support to a largely self-employed industry, MHA is uniquely positioned to continue to heal the music in the decades to come.

Music Health Alliance’s mission is to create a safe and confidential place for the music community to gain the very best healthcare and health insurance solutions through defined and transparent advocacy services, with an emphasis on the prevention of illness and overall wellness. Since 2013, MHA has:

  • Saved more than $100,000,000 in healthcare costs

  • Provided free advocacy and support to over 20,000 music industry clients in 50 states

  • Facilitated more than 3,200 counseling sessions through MHA’s Mental Health Fund

  • Saved nearly 2,500 families from bankruptcy due to medical bills

  • Provided life-saving diagnostic care to 57 clients through the Ben Eyestone Fund

  • Aided 31 individuals in securing life-saving heart, liver, kidney and lung transplants

  • Provided access to more than 1,000,000 meals during the COVID-19 pandemic

“In ten years MHA has gone from just an idea to a thriving organization that has served tens of thousands and saved over $100 million in healthcare costs to keep the music playing across this country,” says Tatum Allsep, Music Health Alliance Founder and CEO. “MHA’s success is possible because we have a fierce staff, dedicated Board of Directors and encouraging donors and community who sincerely believe in our mission to Heal The Music. Thank you all and cheers to 10 years!”

The 15 person team at MHA continue the non-profit’s mission to provide free healthcare advocacy, access and resources to the music industry, more than 75% of whom are self-employed. Songwriters, musicians, performers, producers, engineers, venue operators, artist managers, agents, publishers, business managers, and more have had access to critical medicine, mental health resources, diagnostic tests, lifesaving transplants, end of life care and many other necessary services.

Reggie is one of the many music industry professionals who have received free healthcare advocacy and support from MHA. The 41 year-old tour manager lost his right arm below the elbow when he was injured in a tragic accident witnessed by his wife and children. He was quickly referred to MHA as he had no health insurance. Music Health Alliance was able to secure affordable coverage and negotiate his more than $500,000 in medical bills down to zero. By helping Reggie navigate the healthcare process, MHA enabled him to secure a neurobionics prosthetic arm, allowing him to resume his music career, and arranged trauma counseling for the entire family. By providing access to health insurance, negotiating medical costs, and navigating the healthcare process, MHA was able to provide affordable solutions for an otherwise debilitating and career-ending healthcare crisis. “Music Health Alliance literally put my life and family back together when we thought all hope was lost,” said Reggie. “We thought we were going to lose our house and I thought I would never be able to work again. They saved us.”

During a kickoff event held at Nashville’s Gibson Garage yesterday, multi-platinum entertainer Dierks Bentley, a longtime supporter and client of MHA, joined the celebration as celebrity ambassador.

“Healthcare is the ultimate thing you can offer your team out there on the road,” shared Bentley. “Having 30 people on my team, it is tough to navigate insurance and healthcare and having MHA to help us figure it out and uncover benefits we didn’t even know were available. They’ve helped us save so much over 10 years and $100 MILLION industry wide...it's just incredible!”

As MHA begins its tenth year of serving the music industry, it is honored to establish the Richard M. Bates SMILE Fund, named in memory of music enthusiast and the Walt Disney Company’s longtime SVP, Government Relations. The Richard M. Bates SMILE Fund is the music industry’s first dedicated fund for dental health. Through the generosity and vision of Richard Bates’s family and friends, and matching grants from The Walt Disney Company, music professionals of all ages will no longer need to forgo critical dental healthcare that is often costly and not covered by medical insurance.

“Our family is very grateful to support something so meaningful and lasting,” said his widow Mrs. Rose Bates. “Richard would have been quite touched by this honor while being thrilled that it will help so many musicians with their health-related concerns.”

Music makers of all genres who are in need of critical dental healthcare will now be able to access qualifying grants through the Fund, with applications accessible here. The Richard M. Bates SMILE Fund will not only bring smiles, but will also make a significant impact on MHA’s mission to heal the music.

Entirely funded through grants and individual and corporate donations, financial support from the music community is critical to continue Music Health Alliance’s advocacy and free services. 86% of all dollars donated go directly to MHA’s programs and services - for every $1 donation, MHA is able to provide $30 in life-saving healthcare resources to Heal The Music.

As the non-profit enters its tenth year of healing the music, MHA is launching The Visionary Circle, an annual giving society to recognize generous friends who are invested in the ongoing success and future vision of Music Health Alliance. The future of MHA lies in the belief that no member of our music industry family should ever have to face a healthcare crisis alone, and The Visionary Circle will make an immediate impact on the scope of MHA’s work and ensure it can continue to heal the music for generations to come. Find additional information here

MHA fights so those in our industry never have to feel alone in a health crisis and removes obstacles so patients can receive lifesaving care. MHA continues to advocate on behalf of songwriters, producers, audio engineers, musicians, recording artists, publishers and more across the country. Thanks to the direct efforts of MHA, over 20,000 members of the music community across the country have gained access to lifesaving transplants, medicine, mental health resources, end of life care and many other necessary services. Its services are free to any person who has worked in the music industry for two or more years or who has credited contributions to 4 commercially released recordings or videos. Spouses, partners, and children of qualifying individuals may also receive access to the non-profit’s services from birth to end of life.

About CARCASS:

Ferocious and uncompromising in their execution, CARCASS’s ability to intricately dissect the innards of death metal, and display them for us to sonically understand has been their point of excellence for over three decades. In 2019 the band released their first single in over 5 years “Under The Scalpel Blade,” followed by a 4 song EP entitled Despicable (October 2020), setting a potent precedent for the full length album coming in September: "Torn Arteries." With the album title itself referencing an old demo created by original drummer Ken Owen back in the 80’s, "Torn Arteries" sits as a bookend on the modern side of the CARCASS discography, connecting directly back to where everything began over 30 years ago.

About MUNICIPAL WASTE;
Since 2001, MUNICIPAL WASTE have uncompromisingly stuck to their guns as hard-partying and even harder-hitting torchbearers of 21st century thrash metal. The Richmond, VA quintet—Tony Foresta [vocals], Ryan Waste [guitar], Philip “Landphil” Hall [bass], Dave Witte [drums], and Nick Poulos [guitar]—have transformed from a cult favorite into metal mainstays for a generation. Along the way, Decibel touted "The Art of Partying" in its coveted “Hall of Fame” and asserted it “revved up interest in thrash and inspired a fresh wave of youthful new bands.” Metal Hammer christened "The Art of Partying" one of “The 50 Greatest Thrash Metal Albums Ever,” while Loudwire pegged "The Art of Partying" as “The Best Thrash Album of 2007” and "Hazardous Mutation" as “The Best Thrash Album of 2005.” The guys have sold out countless shows on multiple continents and piled up tens of millions of streams in the process. 2017’s "Slime  and Punishment" bowed in the Top 3 of the Billboard Heatseekers Albums Chart, and "The Last Rager" EP only accelerated their momentum in 2019.

Municipal Waste maintain course as vicious and vital as ever on 2022’s "Electrified Brain" [Nuclear Blast] as heard on tracks like "Grave Dive," "High Speed Steel" and "Crank The Heat." Recorded during the pandemic in Philadelphia with producer Arthur Rizk [Power Trip, Code Orange], the sessions would be the first time the band reunited in person after a year. Together, they achieved “a thicker and heavier sound.”

PONTE DEL DIAVOLO Signs to Season of Mist

Season of Mist is proud to announce the signing of emerging Italian doom metal outfit PONTE DEL DIAVOLO!

Born in Turin in the winter of 2020, PONTE DEL DIAVOLO puts forth a devastating blend of doom and black metal, combining traditional elements with a modern perspective. For a glimpse of things to come, check out the band's previous EP HERE.

PONTE DEL DIAVOLO comments on the signing: "We are honoured and proud to join the Season of mist family. Three years from the start of this adventure we have closed a trilogy of EPs that was well received beyond our expectations and gave us a lot of satisfactions. We are determined to keep our musical concept with real demonic connotations, in the purest and freest sense of the term. On our first record you will hear something new, authentic, and truly profound."

Born in Turin in the winter of 2020, PONTE DEL DIAVOLO puts forth a devastating blend of doom and black metal, combining traditional elements with a modern perspective.

The band first made its debut in 2020 with its  'Mystery of Mystery / Secret Live Session' EP, which was recorded live and without editing at Dracma Studio with L’Ossario in Turin, March 6, 2020. The organic approach gave the offering an authentic vintage sound and quickly set the foundations for the band's future.

As the saying goes, there's no rest for the wicked - so the band quickly released two more EPs in 2022 - 'Sancta Menstruis' and 'Ave Scintilla,' respectively. Now, as the band comes into its own sound, it has formed a union with Season of Mist, where PONTE DEL DIAVOLO will release its first ever full-length, to be recorded in February 2023. Stay tuned...

Michael Ray Readies New Music as Rehearsals Get Underway for 2023 Tour

Florida Native Follows Up “Whiskey and Rain” Two-Week No. 1 with
New Music Expected this Spring

Ray Shares Peek Behind Next Album with Award-Winning Producer Michael Knox

As we dive headfirst into a new year and even look ahead to spring, Michael Ray sees a new season of music emerging while in the studio with producer Michael Knox. The Eustis, Florida native has spent the last two years reflecting on his journey since moving to Music City and what it means to find fulfillment in all aspects of life.

“My romance with the business of music was starting to take its toll on me,” says the singer who first moved to Nashville in 2013. “Things really come into focus when you take the time to live a little life. I feel like the music that we’ve been writing has real intention and is focused on the next chapter. I’ve discovered lately, especially in spending time with my family, that there’s a lot of life you miss when you’ve got your head down, doubling down on work. I think a lot of folks feel that way as all our lives changed, and so this idea of being present has moved beyond an idea…it’s how I’m living life these days.”

Ray used to think of “being busy” as being in the studio or on the road constantly, but now he’s embraced the time between tour dates. “Being busy living life is the goal. I find I give more in my live shows when I’m the same human off stage and on, versus only giving folks one side of me for 90 or 120 minutes when I’ve got a microphone in my hand.”

Kicking off February 18 in Los Fresnos, Texas, with additional shows to be announced, Ray’s 2023 tour dates are taking him back to some cities that first embraced him as he retraces his steps from the days in a 15-passenger van, zigzagging across the Southeast. “I want people to come out to see us and know that when they do, we’re gonna take great care of that time as it means more to us all now.”

“The main things that have kept me going this year is my family, friends, and these incredible fans that have become friends,” says Ray. “I think they’ll see a lot of life lived in these songs, and hopefully they’ll see themselves in it, too.”

About Michael Ray
For Michael Ray, music is his grandfather singing and sweating on a rural Florida stage. It’s the childhood refuge he found during the pain of his parent's divorce. It’s family and stories, history and hope. Ray says music saved him, but it did even more: Music made him. Ray has built an impressive foundation: four No. 1 songs – RIAA Platinum-certified “Think a Little Less,” RIAA Platinum-certified “Whiskey And Rain,” RIAA Gold-certified “Kiss You in the Morning,” RIAA Gold-certified “One That Got Away” – plus “Get to You” and “Her World or Mine,” brings his tally to four Gold-certified singles. Ray has garnered over 1 billion global streams, over 650,000 album equivalents, over 150 million YouTube views, and has performed at the Grand Ole Opry over 65 times. Two hit albums into that all-too-rare blend of critically acclaimed and commercially successful career, Ray released Higher Education. Proof that heartbroken wallowing can feel good if it swings, “Whiskey And Rain” marked his first multi-week No. 1, cementing him as the ideal bridge between vintage country cool and modern country’s best sounds. Ray recently released The Bootleggers Sessions, which features classic country covers, including Tracy Lawrence’s “Time Marches On” and George Strait’s “The Chair,” following The Warehouse Sessions of live performances of songs from Higher Education. Ray is gearing up to release more new music this spring and is currently in the studio with award-winning producer Michael Knox. BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE Reveals New Album, Shares New Song + Music Video

Progressive rock trio BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE will be releasing a brand new full-length, 'Tempus Veritas,' on April 14, 2023! The cover artwork, traklist, and details can be found below! In conjunction with this announcement, the band is now sharing the energetic first single, "Deny the Sun." The song can be found along with an official music video, which was created by Alina Gordienco.

"'Deny The Sun' is the first song we wrote for 'Tempus Veritas' and we love how hard the riff goes!" exclaims vocalist/guitarist Paul Visser about the new single. "We’ve been pushing more and more into the technical side of our music for this album and this track is a great example of that. Lyrically, it deals with Galileo’s ideas about the central nature of the sun and the clash with religious views at the time, written from the point of view of his friend Pope Urban VIII who found himself in an impossible position and ended up condemning the astronomer. Our friend and long-time collaborator Alina Gordienco made the amazing video in LA, starring the wonderful Irina Dudyk as the sun goddess.  Her work is consistently inspired and we love what she did for this song!"

Regarding the album, the Black Orchid Empire explains: "Interwoven with the fabric of our history as a species are countless opportunities for stories. Little pieces of imagined narrative, set within events we all collectively know as historical, that seek to explore what it means to be human - this is the idea behind 'Tempus Veritas'. Whereas Semaphore looked to the future, this record reinvents the past, wondering what it was like to be inside the mind of a person living through times of consequence. Musically, we continue to seek the boundary between the savagely technical and the undeniably beautiful and attempt to push it as far as possible. We poured our entire creative beings into making this album - we sincerely hope you enjoy it."

Pre-orders are now available HERE. The album can be pre-saved on various digital platforms HERE.

BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE create huge, memorable rock music that combines heavy-hitting savagery with intense melodic beauty. Their technical, fearlessly complex grooves and gigantic sing-along choruses have already earned them a widespread fanbase.

A ferociously tight live band, BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE have toured Europe and the UK extensively, supporting Skunk Anansie, HED p.e, INME and Black Map as well as festival slots at Download, Standon Calling and Planet Rockstock. Black Orchid Empire have sealed the bands reputation as a force to be reckoned with.

Having released their debut album ‘Archetype’ (2016) to universal acclaim, BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE signed with German label Long Branch Records to release the follow up albums ‘Yugen’ (2018) and ‘Semaphore’ (2020). Both albums received stellar reviews and over 3,000,000+ combined streams.

“Tempus Veritas” is a collection of stories that seeks to find compelling imaginary narratives hidden away in what we all think of as history.  Behind every milestone or major event in humanity’s long, complex past lies a treasure trove of possibilities for invention - how did Pope Urban VIII feel when confronted by his friend Galileo about the true nature of the sun?  What really happened during an almost triumphant but ultimately doomed Everest attempt? What was it like to be a Norse settler amongst the Saxons; did the omens of the ancient gods begin to disappear?

In approaching “Tempus Veritas”, BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE sought collectively to push themselves both musically and thematically. Their pursuit of heaviness, melody, emotional power and rhythmic complexity has pushed them to create something they‘re immensely proud of. “Semaphore” was an album of Sci-Fi, this is an album of Hi-Fi. Tempus Veritas.

Currents Announce "The Death We Seek" Album + Share "Remember Me" Video

CURRENTS ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM THE DEATH WE SEEK OUT MAY 5 VIA SHARPTONE

TOUR WITH PARKWAY DRIVE + MEMPHIS MAY FIRE UNDERWAY

Connecticut metalcore dynamos CURRENTS have announced their new album The Death We Seek. It will arrive on May 5 via SharpTone. Pre-order it here

Today, the band has shared the video for "Remember Me." Watch it below.

"'Remember Me' is a statement to our growing divide between one another," says singer Brian Wille. "The dark side to technology's double-edged-sword is access to a font of information and public discourse, curated to engagement, and skewed to individual interest and world-view. The further we go in, the further we're separated from the middle ground and impartial truths. Over the course of the Internet's existence and the rise of social media empires, we're beginning to fracture our relationships with one another over anything we can fight about, even going as far as to relish in the chaos and division. You can see the exact same event and come out with instant, infinite perspectives across the ideological spectrum; painted on a mass public forum accessible to billions of people. Driven further by algorithms and advertising, poison can spread quickly and have lasting outcomes on how we see eachother and the world around us."

He finishes, "While disagreement and debate are not new, nor the real enemy here, we've all felt a particular strain to our closest ties over the last three years. This song is the release of that frustration and loss, and a call to find what brings us together and work through what set us apart. Whether it's a personal issue or an ideological impasse, we can all do better to practice empathy, understanding, and trust in those around us; that’s the only way we can collectively see through what’s real, and what's interest-driven spectacle."

The band has also shared the news that guitarist Ryan Castaldi is battling lymphoma. A GoFundMe has been set up here and details his prognosis. Please share where able.

ABOUT CURRENTS:
Leveling everything in their path with crushing intensity and raw emotional confession, CURRENTS set new standards for dissonance, dissatisfaction, and existential dread, with unstoppable fury.

The band plays an overwhelming and jaw-dropping mixture of metallic hardcore, aggressive melody, and electronic texture. Currents aren't afraid to look inward with stark examinations of failure, heartache, and one's responsibility to the world.

Heady and ferocious, The Death We Seek is Currents at both their most powerful and most vulnerable. Songs like "Unfamiliar," "Vengeance," "Remember Me," and "So Alone" are unflinching explorations of rugged emotional terrain. Currents are uncompromisingly heavy and as raw as a nerve exposed.

They've taken their visceral maelstrom on tour around the world, supporting bands like Ice Nine Kills, Parkway Drive, August Burns Red, Fit For A King, As I Lay Dying, and We Came As Romans. A combination of their diverse influences, channeled through unique perspectives and personal experiences, Currents alternate between thoughtful and unhinged. Those well-versed in the likes of Meshuggah, Vildhjarta, and Architects have embraced Currents with full-throated passion.

Currents is frontman Brian Wille; guitarists Chris Wiseman and Ryan Castaldi; bassist Chris Pulgarin; and drummer Matt Young. A winding DIY road through earlier lineups resulted in a series of self-released EPs, all leading to the band's acclaimed debut album, The Place I Feel Safest (2017).

The five-song I Let The Devil In EP (2018) came shortly after, co-produced by Wiseman and Ryan Leitru (For Today, We Came As Romans, Like Moths To Flames). The pair also produced the band's stunning sophomore full-length, The Way It Ends (2020). Metal Hammer praised that record's mixture of rage, beauty, and electronic-laden melodic aggression as "immediately addictive."

Leitru and Wiseman co-produced The Death We Seek, and the band's guitarist engineered Wille's vocals himself for the first time. Jeff Dunne (Wage War, Ice Nine Kills, Make Them Suffer) mixed, making for a massive yet nuanced slab that serves as a Currents mission statement going forward.

The lyrics are thoughtful yet accessible, eschewing easy sloganeering for depth. Massive breakdowns, a driving onslaught of riffs, and black metal-worthy beats juxtapose against moments of ambiance, tranquility, and stripped-back melancholy amidst the dense, weighty madness.

The band keeps a dedicated focus that ensures each release serves a purpose, with a cohesive journey from start to finish, as complete artistic statements vs. a disconnected batch of songs.

Across all three albums, in every live show, and with each increasingly cinematic piece of visual storytelling, Currents fearlessly search for meaning amidst uncertain chaos. Abuse, depression, neglect; no trauma spared. They also cast their gaze outward, offering no mercy to an exploitative system that inflicts harm on people, animals, and the Earth.

As New Noise rightfully declared: "CURRENTS is a band not to be ignored."

Philadelphia Stoner/90s Rockers The Stone Eye Bring "Donora"

The Stone Eye Release Their New Single "Donora". The Stone Eye is an alternative rock band that unites distinctive musicianship with a fervor to create a sound markedly all theirs. Their music is a gradual evolutionary process that requires every note to come full circle. "Donora" certainly will entice their listeners to be ready for more.

'"Donora" is a song that began with one creative direction in mind and ended up veering off of the side of a cliff by the end of the songwriting process. That's The Stone Eye way. Initially, Stephen Burdick brought what is now the first couple minutes of the song to the band. After collectively workshopping the song around as a collective for about three weeks, we ended up with a five-minute song that stylistically jumps all over the place yet remains cohesive- which is really cool. "Donora" certainly isn't the most out-there song on the record, but it showcases the band's evolution whilst remaining true to our sound at the same time."' - The Stone Eye

ABOUT:

Come along with us and grab a beer, throw up your legs, and let out a sigh of relief. A new era is born; or at least, something like that. Philadelphia’s premier fuzz-filled rockers are ushering in 2023 with new music throughout the year, beginning with their first single, "Donora". Formed in 2014 by some buddies in High School with a shared love for music and endless amounts of ambition (sometimes to the point of absurdity), The Stone Eye is a band that prides itself in tackling multiple genres within one cohesive package; usually topped off with thunderous rhythm, loud guitars, and haunting vocals. It was not always this way though, and that's a part of the appeal. Throughout the band's long history, musical evolution and experimentation have been at the forefront of each member's mind. What happens if you cross pop-sensibilities with traditional metal? Or maybe throw some funk in there for the ladies? Perhaps this song needs a hand pan? Why not! With every new release, The Stone Eye is providing new perspectives on tried genres, and that's... well, cool. These upcoming releases are absolutely no exception to that now-established mantra, so strap on in, grab that beer we were talking about earlier, and enjoy the ride.

"Donora" will be the first of four singles & music videos cultivated in a twelve-track album entitled Fata Morgana, which is scheduled for an April 28th, 2023 release. Fata Morgana and the aforementioned singles with be made available through Electric Talon Records on CD, Cassette, and Digital mediums.

"We Are Not The Same" Swim the Current ft. Marcos Leal of lll Nino

"The crushing track and slick video are further examples of why you can’t sleep on this rising band..."

Editor of GhostCult Magazine

New Jersey/New York - Tri-State Super Group - Swim The Current have come together to release their next single "WE ARE NOT THE SAME" feat. Marcos Leal of III Nino.

Swim the Current is a project founded by guitarist Greg Antine. Antine knew an infusion would be his creation and together with the professional talents of bassist - George Pond (Disciples Of Verity); drummer - Chris Moore (Ultraphonix); guitarist - Joe Gareri (Joe Gareri Project the music written, recorded, and produced would result in a rock music experience. Each single released thus far has placed a well-known featured vocalist and "We Are Not The Same" has certainly accomplished this marker again with Marcos Leal of III Nino as STC's guest vocalist.

"I’m incredibly honored to be a part of this amazing track with such incredible musicians. We're not the same was written as an Angry Anthem, as a way to help me cope with the demons and frustration of my fathers' cancer diagnosis. It helped me Channel a lot of the anger and aggression within me into something much more productive I am very proud of this song and want to extend thanks to George, Joe, and the rest of the members of Swim The Current For allowing me to be a part of such a masterpiece!"

Marcos Leal Guest Vocals

“The volume of voice measures the value that the mind puts upon the thought! How we think and feel are direct reflections of our surroundings. You are a product of your environment."

George Pond Bassist/Producer

"WE ARE NOT THE SAME"

ABOUT:

Having played in numerous bands throughout the years, Guitarist Greg Antine came to a point in his career where he wanted to branch out and write songs that had more depth and were inspired by his personal life experiences. Having grown up less than two miles from the beaches of South Jersey, The entire vibe of Swim the Current is infused with elements of the ocean and beaches of South Jersey where Greg still resides.

Having worked with Bassist George Pond for several years on previous projects including, Disciples Of Verity, Greg expressed his concept for Swim The Current to George in hopes of collaborating with him on this new music venture. The two began to flesh out ideas in George’s home studio and realized quickly that they were on to something special, but still needed something more to see their ideas through to complete their concepts.

Greg was introduced to Joe Gareri, Guitar/Keyboards, by George during the Disciples Of Verity debut album recording sessions which Joe is also featured as a guest artist. The three of them immediately hit it off and worked extremely well together. Greg and George realized that Joe’s cinematic writing style would be a perfect match for their concepts and Joe was then brought in as a full-time member.

After two songs were completed and demo’d in George’s studio utilizing programmed drums, it was suggested by their friend Allyson Song River Jaynes, that they reach out to her friend, veteran drummer Chris Moore of Ultraphonix, Rock Of Ages, to see if he would be interested in working with the project. Upon hearing the strength of songwriting and musicianship of the band, Chris was all in and signed on as the fourth full-time member of STC and now the band was complete.

From day one Greg’s vision for STC was to feature various vocalists for each of the songs who would differentiate the sound and essence of each one, making them individually unique. Guest vocalists for the project have included: Charlie Berezansky (VEXES), Dan Caputo (Negative Sky), Chaka Malik (Orange 9mm, BURN) Jai Messina (Jai Diablo)(DragPipe, Stem), and Greg Christie (ElevenAfter, Nude Groove), and now Marcos Leal (III Nino).

Swim The Current’s sound is influenced and reminiscent of many of their favorite artists including, Deftones, Faith No More, Sevendust, POD, and Stabbing Westward. They continue to write new music and will have additional guest vocalists in their future releases.
