Thrash Metal Outfit NUKEM Unleashes Lyric Video for Death-Inspired New Single, "Torture, Murder, Mutilate!"

California has always been fertile ground for thrash metal, leading the charge with some of the genre's most legendary acts. San Diego's NUKEM follows in the footsteps of thrash metal's founding fathers, producing the kind of time-tested, neck-breaking thrash that invokes deep nostalgia while still sounding fresh and modern.

The thrashers are now unleashing a vicious new single, "Torture, Murder, Mutilate!" which was inspired by the band Death. The track can be found along with a lyric video Below.

NUKEM vocalist and guitarist Steve Brogden comments, "'Torture, Murder, Mutilate!' We crafted this track after wrapping up our tour with Death To All & Suffocation, featuring legendary Death members Gene Hoglan, Steve DiGorgio & Bobby Koelble, alongside Max Phelps shredding through the space once ruled by Chuck. This track is deeply rooted in Death's influence, having had the privilege of their music as our nightly soundtrack, it definitely left its mark on us. Blending a touch of death metal with our Nukem style of Thrash, it made for a pretty brutal track!”

VISERION Announce New Single “Harrenhal” From Their Forthcoming Album Fire and Blood

Black metal quartet VISERION unveil their crushing new single “Harrenhal,” a fresh look into their forthcoming full-length album Fire and Blood, set for release on January 16th, 2026. This record marks the band’s first standalone album featuring their current four-piece lineup, a formation solidified in 2022 that has pushed their sonic identity to new extremes.

Drawing deep inspiration from George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones universe,Fire and Blood centers thematically on the legendary Targaryen dynasty, embracing their infamous house words as its title. Formed in Queens, NY in 2020, Viserion have since carved a reputation for crafting bleak, immersive soundscapes. With this release, the band elevates the sound they have been meticulously refining over the years while showcasing their evolution as musicians and storytellers.

About VISERION:
Located in Queens, NY, VISERION blend brutal and aggressive black metal with atmospheric and melodic passages in their own distinctive take on the genre. Storytelling is embedded in their musical creativity, highly influenced by the writings of George R.R. Martin and the World of Westeros. The band initially formed as a three-piece in 2020 by Ben Marvilli taking on bass and vocals, Matt Marvilli on drums and John Magnani performing guitars. Subsequently, in 2022, Magnani left and Ben Marvilli swapped out bass for guitar. Cris Valentine also joined on guitar and Tasso Diakov took on the bass. HÉR Stay Propulsive on New Single "Patience in Observation"

HÉR are seekers and storytellers. Their upcoming debut album, Monochrome, reflects polar extremes: fire and ice, violence and tenderness, bravery and care, the brutality of war and the solace that’s brought by peace.

Today, the band are releasing the album’s second advanced single. “Patience in Observation” captures one of Monochrome’s most reflective passages. The song unfolds with distilled calm, spurred along by a steady percussive pulse. Swept up by strings and smooth vocals, HÉR remain a grounding force.

“Patience in Observation is a reflective journey through the nature of life and the unchanging rhythm of the universe”, says HÉR.

“The world has been moving according to its own rules for millions of years. Our task is to find our place within this dance. ‘Patience in Observation’ is a song about calmness and precision in everyday actions, following the motto ‘calmly and precisely, piece by piece’. It serves as a warning against the desire for things too grand, which may lead us to the edge of an abyss. This is a musical meditation on acceptance and understanding, a reminder that our growth requires patience and harmony with the surrounding world”.

“Hér” in Icelandic means „here”. It is a very clear calling from the band to the audience: be here, experience, be inspired, it is happening now, and it is the essence of participating in our artistic expression. HÉR was formed in Gdańsk, northern Poland. Five independent, strong musical personalities met “here”—in a specific place and time—to create communitas that are both unique and harmonious.

The music the band proposes carries the listener to 11th-century Old Norse wisdom poetry. The first inspiration for this artistic meeting were the poems of the Poetic Edda. Hér reveals wild, root-like, undiscovered musical spaces, the clash of worlds, and a glimpse of the otherworld. It uses raw means of expression and sounds, as raw as the North itself: trembling throat singing, increasing trance-like rhythm, gliding over the violin strings like over an ice surface. We start here: Iceland, the beginning of Europe. It is a musical meditation on a place, growing out of specific soil, reaching to the roots of Norse mythology but not stopping there. It is not only the wisdom of the Vikings, Odin’s recommendations for those who stand at the gates of Valhalla. The threshold of the otherworld leads further to universal, human, fundamental experiences.

By exploring the human nature described in Norse mythology, the musicians make a deep insight into the emotions embedded in its verses. They bring out the dark beauty of the North and its extremes: fire and ice, violence and tenderness, bravery and care, the brutality of war and the solace that peace brings, struggle and feast, the milky sweetness of honey and the salty tang of blood, love and hatred, birth and death, beginning and end, terror and awe…

Sestu hérna, sit here… sit here and listen, sit here and grow, sit here and drift away.

Modern Metal Supergroup CYHRA Release New Single "Box With Spirits"

Swedish melodic metal supergroup CYHRA (Featuring AMARANTHE Co-Founder Jake E and current THE HALO EFFECT, KAMELOT, THE CROWN, and SUBURBAN TRIBE members) have stormed onto the modern metal scene once again with their latest single, "Box With Spirits". The supergroup continues to offer a fresh sound that challenges the boundaries of modern metal, leaning hard on punchy riffs and brooding, atmospheric synth accents. Defying trends and remaining true to their unique foundations, CYHRA's catchy melodies and epic hooks are always underpinned by a raw edge that reinforces the band's commitment to authenticity. Lyrically, the song offers cutting commentary on the dangers of locking up emotions, running from uncomfortable truths, and hiding one's true self from others.

Frontman Jake E comments, "'Box with Spirits' looks at the architecture of avoidance — the masks we wear, the truths we tuck away, and the small, deliberate choices that keep us from being seen. The title is a careful double entendre: spirits as both ghosts and distilled solace. We go to the liquor cabinet not only to drink, but to defer a reckoning, to soften questions we’re not ready to answer; the bottles become companions to the things that haunt us. And why put the heart in that same box? Because hiding it can feel like protection — a way to preserve what’s fragile, to shield love from further damage, to parcel pain into something manageable, or even to freeze a version of ourselves we’re not willing to lose. In that box, vulnerability is both locked away and preserved; it’s a refuge and a prison. The song interrogates that uneasy calculus and the tiny courage required to open the lid and let what’s inside be found."

About CYHRA
As they approach their 10th anniversary next year, CYHRA have carved out a notable place in the metal scene since their founding in 2016 by Jake E (AMARANTHE Co-Founder) and Jesper Strömblad (THE HALO EFFECT, formerly IN FLAMES). They were soon joined by drummer Alex Landenburg (KAMELOT, Luca Turilli’s RHAPSODY), guitarist Euge Valovirta (SUBURBAN TRIBE), and bassist Peter Iwers (THE HALO EFFECT, formerly IN FLAMES). Their debut album Letters To Myself” was released in 2017 to glowing reviews, catapulting the group to global stages, crowned with a massive North American tour supporting SABATON and KREATOR.
 
Following Iwers’ departure, Valovirta also took over bass duties, and the band released their second album No Halos In Hell in 2019, which blended groovy metal with a poppy flair and featured the hit single "Out Of My Life," amassing about 11 million streams on Spotify. Their success continued with a European tour with BATTLE BEAST, UK dates alongside DELAIN, headline shows in select countries including Finland and Japan, and performances at major festivals like Masters of Rock, Bloodstock Open Air, Sabaton Open Air, and 70,000 Tons of Metal.
 
In 2020, guitarist Marcus Sunesson (RONNIE ATKINS, THE CROWN) joined, expanding the line-up. The pandemic pause allowed the band to craft their third album The Vertigo Trigger, released in 2023. The album’s tour brought them back to Finland to open for SMASH INTO PIECES and to headline shows in early 2024. Quietly beginning their fourth album, CYHRA ended the cycle with a Scandinavian tour with EVERGREY, leading into 2025 with two new singles "Superman" and "Skin From Bones".

Kenny Chesney's HEART LIFE MUSIC Gets Stern + Springsteen Archived

It was all heart, life, music when Kenny Chesney joined iconic radio host Howard Stern to discuss his No. 1 New York Times best seller on Stern’s SiriusXM morning show. For two hours, the pair engaged in a far-flung conversation that ranged from inspiration to alienation, unthinkable moments and notions, mutual friends, the creative process – and even Stern’s query about whether the East Tennessee songwriter/superstar would like to be in the Rock & Roll Fame.
 
With Heart Life Music spending three weeks and counting on both the New York Times Hardcover Nonfiction Best Sellers list and Combined Print and E-Book Nonfiction Best Sellers list, Stern had clearly done his reading. Whether exploring the reality of persuasion class and music business rejection, the skill and practice required to even attempt Doc Watson-style picking, hitting the wall and landing on absolute empty, Stern returned to the themes of resilience and hard work behind making dreams a reality. But he also found the joy in discovering purpose, the feeling of being onstage in front of 60,000 (“It’s like an avalanche,” Chesney explained) and the power of how music makes you feel.

Initiated by the Center’s post about Heart Life Music’s No. 1 New York Times debut and the presence of Springsteen throughout Chesney’s book, this once in a lifetime conversation seemed inevitable in the rearview, but unthinkable even 10 days ago.

“I love that Bruce is using his archives to create a space to honor American music, open up conversations about how it’s all interconnected,” Chesney says. “When I recorded ‘One Step Up,’ I didn’t think about genre, just heart and how human the experience in the song was. To me, it had a country soul and the heart of a person in conflict over, well, temptation. As it says in the book, when Bruce responded to my version of it, I realized all that passion, all that church revival energy Bruce brings onstage is the same thing as me singing what was a rock song: good music really is all tangled up together, but united by its honesty and willingness to get real.”
 
Having gone from East Tennessee State to Boston, Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York City, Chicago, Nashville, Los Angeles, Key West and Tampa, the recent Country Music Hall of Fame inductee has taken Heart Life Music to the people – and seen lines starting hours before the doors opened to his book events. WORMWITCH to Headline Canadian Run in January 2026

WORMWITCH will be kicking off the new year with a headlining run across Canada along with support from Vancouver's SCALDING! The trek will kick off in Ottawa, ON on January 22 and will conclude on January 26 in Sherbrooke (QC). The full itinerary can be found below while tickets can be found HERE.

The band comments, "Wormwitch is finally making our long overdue return to the great Canadian shield, this time joined by our western brethren in Scalding. These are sure to be five frigid evenings of unhinged Canadian metal, square in the middle of what is predicted to be a particularly unforgiving winter.”

Like black wings from an obsidian sky, WORMWITCH descended from the darkness in 2015, somewhere upon the rain-soaked woodlands of coastal British Columbia. Rotting Christ Announce Re-Recording of Aealo

As they continue to celebrate 35 years of evil existence, Rotting Christ are beginning what is sure to be a monumental new year by reinforcing one of the pillars in their mighty discography.  

Today, the Greek legends are announcing a re-recorded version of the band’s 11th album. Chiseled with modern production, polished by a rich mix and draped with fresh cover art, the new and improved AEALO enhances every aspect that makes this album a cornerstone from Rotting Christ’s Hellenic era.

“Dear friends”, begins the band’s vocalist and guitarist Sakis Tolis. “We have re-recorded, remixed and remastered our 11th album AEALO with deep respect for the original recording. We are proud to present to you the first sample from the album with a new video for its title track”.

Long-held as one of Rotting Christ’s defining anthems, “AEALO” is a fierce yet tragic portrayal of warfare. In English, the title means “I destroy” or “I thrash”. Martial percussion, ceremonial melodies and a female choir evoke the spirit of ancient Greek rituals and the psychology of the battlefield. The re-recorded version unearths new layers that were once hidden, strengthening the song’s mythic resonance while reflecting on the album’s larger themes of sacrifice and the cost of conflict.  

In 2019, Rotting Christ’s epic journey continued with The Apocryphal Spell compilation, which offers fans an intimate glimpse into unreleased and rare material. This allowed them to gather strength, preparing for the release of their next, highly anticipated, 14th full-length studio album: Pro Xristou.

Pro Xristou (‘Before Christ’ in Greek), serves as a fervent tribute to the last Pagan kings who resisted the onslaught of Christianity, guarding their ancient values and knowledge. In this thematic odyssey, intricately woven through tracks such as ‘The Apostate’ and ‘Ygdrassil’, Rotting Christ delves into the legacies of historical figures such as Flavius Claudius Julianus and Nordic mythological kings, embodying the might of Pagan wisdom in the face of Christian adversity. AGENBITE MISERY Announce New Single “Cascara Sagrada” from Forthcoming Debut Remorse of Conscience

Extreme-metal visionaries AGENBITE MISERY return with their newest single, “Cascara Sagrada,” a ferocious and intricately constructed piece that showcases the band’s most adventurous writing to date. The track serves as the latest preview of their debut full-length Remorse of Conscience, a concept album that adapts every chapter of James Joyce’s Ulysses into a standalone sonic experience.

Originally the final composition written for the record, “Cascara Sagrada” stands apart with its non-traditional structure, technical ambition, and uniquely dissonant atmosphere. Drawing heavily from avant-extreme acts like Pyrrhon and Convulsing, the single embodies the unsettling tension and warped melodicism that defines the band’s sound.

Lyrically and conceptually, the song adapts “Calypso,” the fourth episode of Ulysses, introducing protagonist Leopold Bloom as he navigates a sequence of mundane morning rituals. AGENBITE MISERY push this banality into sinister territory, using repetition, structural distortion, and grinding dissonance to reflect the bleak monotony simmering beneath everyday life. Motifs recur like intrusive thoughts, constantly familiar, perpetually destabilized.

Musically, “Cascara Sagrada” traverses a bold and unpredictable arc: a sludgy, odd-meter opening riff with sliding guitars and angular drum phrasing; a Slint-inspired indie-rock passage filled with tense chord voicings; a plunge into a psychedelic black-metal spiral; an unconventional solo section featuring core-leaning chugs, an explosive drum showcase, and a dissonant death-metal guitar lead; and finally, an extended crescendo of supreme dissonance, slowing in tempo as the band grinds between two unnerving chords, culminating in an uncomfortably powerful resolution.

The lyrics mirror this escalating unease. The opening lines reference Bloom’s domestic tasks (“Kidneys were in his mind”) before spiraling into the concept of metempsychosis, the novel’s core theme of spiritual migration across identities and histories. A spoken-word interlude draws directly from Joyce’s depiction of Bloom in the bathroom, injecting dark humor amid the turmoil. The climactic section erupts into a fever-dream vision of biblical desolation and ancestral dread. The final vocal barrage (“Grey horror seared his flesh / Cold oils slid along his veins…”) pushes the song to a visceral emotional peak.

With Remorse of Conscience, AGENBITE MISERY carve out a singular artistic space where literary modernism and extreme metal collide with startling clarity. “Cascara Sagrada” offers a vivid glimpse into the album’s ambition. The Amity Affliction + August Burns Red Announce Co-Headline Tour for Spring 2026

AUGUST BURNS RED + THE AMITY AFFLICTION will hit the road this coming spring for the Spring Horizons Tour. It kicks off April 10 in Worcester and runs through May 17 in Philadelphia. BOUNDARIES and HEAVENSGATE will serve as support.

"We've been talking in the background about touring with August Burns Red for years at this point," says Amity's Joel Birch. "It's so awesome that it's finally happening. We can't wait to get back to our second home and bring what we feel will be one of the best tours we've been a part of to all the cities we're hitting. Texas-based electronic composer Paris Music Corp. is back with a tandem of water-themed tracks that explore the deep tranquility and visual symmetry of nature. 'Wetlands' and 'Dark Laguna' take us on a sonic and visual journey, where the gentle flow of the first meets the mesmerizing, reflective depths of the second, offering an immersive, watery kaleidoscope for the mind. 

Each track is paired with an accompanying, calming kaleidoscopic video designed to provide a unique sense of grounding stability through fluid motion and reflective imagery. This immersive, watery kaleidoscope for the mind invites fellow travellers to lose themselves in the ebb and flow of these two calming, aquatic soundscapes.

The brainchild of long-time Austin artist John Andrew Paris (now based on the Texan coast), Paris Music Corp. recently released his new album. 'Ecotone' - an electronic odyssey whose audio-visual offerings explore tranquility and the visual symmetry of nature. Nature and cycles are two themes explored, as seen in his latest offerings - 'Midnight Pad' and 'Sun Halos' - exploring the cyclical and seasonal juxtaposition of light with dark.

But this album is also deeply personal and geographically-inspired, being rooted in the artist's relocation to his childhood home in South Texas, just miles from the border and the coast. Paris wrote, recorded, mixed and mastered this album at Tarantula Studios throug 2024 and 2025.

In Austin, John Andrew Paris has spent decades creating music and collaborating with artists, including Arthur Brown (The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, perhaps best known for his hit single 'Fire'), as well as DJ Rev Kathy Russell, DJ Lucas Ray, Catastrophe Ballet, Le Reve, Life's Eyes, Beast of Eden, OBOYO and Don Wigwam.

"The 'Ecotone' album made sense to me because you have a transitional zone, where two different ecological communities or ecosystems meet and intermingle, often resulting in high biodiversity. I feel a lot closer to nature.. Some of my song titles reflect where I am. I actually lived in this area as a child and have come back to my roots,” says John Andrew Paris.

"A lot of these pieces were started on a phone app called Ableton Note. With this application you are able to scratch-pad a lot of cool ideas and then import them into you music workstation and finish them out. When I first moved to my new place I didn’t have a spacious studio setup and I wrote a lot just sitting up all hours of the night writing ideas on Ableton Note."

Known for his cinematic and ethereal music, 'Ecotone' shows Paris Music Corp's dark underbelly and futuristic imagination. Often with elements of 80’s darkwave and ambient soundscapes, his trademark sound involves processed guitar and bass locked into layered loops and manipulated using software. Also employing live hand percussion, these dense soundscapes take the listener on a sonic journey.

Earlier, Paris Music Corp. shared 'Rituals' and the lead track 'No Soy A.I.', featuring Spanish vocals by fellow Texan musician, writer and actor RayPerez, a dark slab of swirling electro casts a sonic challenge to the algorithmic chill of our times and the only track on this album with vocals. 

In 2022, Paris Music Corp. released his self-titled album, after taking hiatus following his 2017 debut album 'Rewind'.  Influenced by Mick Karn, Pink Floyd, Gary Numan, Tim Hecker and Miles Davis, John Andrew Paris scored the documentary 'Andy Paris: Bubble Gum King' and the horror film 'Spectral Wind', plus an electronic rework of 'Lord of the Dance' for the Austin Christmas Collection Album.

Pennsylvania's Robin Ross & The Melodynes share 'Spill No Mo Wine', heralding new album

Pennsylvania-based outfit Robin Ross & The Melodynes present 'Spill No Mo Wine', a fun-loving single born from a high-spirited gathering on Lake Huron. Straight from the bottle right to your dancing feet, this track captures the energetic atmosphere of friendship and celebration, using a humorous mishap as a metaphor for resilience when life's plans briefly spill out of control.

Anchoring the band's sophomore 'Mind Space' album, scheduled for release in early 2026 via RPM Entertainment, here the band infuses classic rock with modern pop sensibilities in the spirit of The B-52s, with a side of Tony and even The Pretenders.

Robin Ross & The Melodynes is not just about music - it's about big fun between like-minded artists, including Wharton Tiers, JoJo Ellen Gaetani, Katlyn Albrecht, Nancy Isola, TW Howell, Emery Rhodes, Joe (Bass) Torres and Tony Anniello. Their collective good vibes cannot help but seep into the music, carrying over to their listeners.

'Mind Space' was recorded at Baa Baa Leaf Music Studio in Milford, PA, which straddles the border between Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Ross produced and engineered this album, along with famed engineer Jonathan Duckett (Phillip Glass, Kenny G, David Sanborn). Not long ago, Ross released 'Back To The Forest', the debut EP as Robin Ross & The TW Howlers, a songwriting project with storied folk-rock artist TW Howell, which received critical acclaim and airplay in dozens of countries. 

"'Spill No Mo Wine' came to be on the shores of Lake Huron on the Bois Blanc Island in Michigan. There upon the bowling-ball-shaped rocks, wearing flip-flops, I composed this with a guitar in one hand and one big carafe-sized glass of wine in the other.  I sat down, put the wine carefully on a rock and began playing, when this riff started. I took one more sip of wine, put it down and it fell off the rock, spilling the wine completely into the soppy sand," explains Robin Ross.

"But the glass held firm and didn't break. Deciding to finish the riff, I put it back on the rock and looked into it for inspiration. Then came the hook, chorus and a special break. In good spirit, I returned to the house for a refill and played the song for our friends. The song is about grit and how, sometimes, best laid plans can vanish in one quick moment."

With musical roots in New Jersey and New York dating back to 1988, Robin Ross has established himself in the bustling artistic community of Milford, PA, A musician, songwriter, and producer with diverse musical endeavours spanning over three decades, he has released five albums and played a pivotal role in creating several recording studios, including Triple R Studios and Sound Complex near New York City. Ross' current recording studio, Baa Baa Leaf Music Studio, continues to expand.

In the early 1990s, Robin co-founded the band Laughing Jack, later rebranded as Jack’s Maze, who gained acclaim for a progressive rock sound reminiscent of such icons as Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. But, as occurs for many artists, life and business took him in a different direction. In 2021, with rekindled passion, Robin embarked on new projects, including both of the aforementioned projects. ANTI-SAPIEN unleash their brand new single and official music video for “At the Mercy of the Merciless”, the crushing title track from their upcoming EP due January 16 on Terminus Hate City. 

“At the Mercy of the Merciless” represents a powerful turning point for ANTI-SAPIEN, showcasing a darker, heavier, and more deliberate side of the band. Built around a massive mid tempo groove and anchored by a pounding rhythmic backbone, the track pulls listeners into a spiraling examination of modern life under algorithmic manipulation and economic domination. The lyrics dissect how society has become divided and immobilized, trapped in echo chambers while the wealthy few exploit the chaos. It is both a warning and a rallying cry, sharpened by the band’s trademark blend of death metal intensity and crust punk grit.

The video released today amplifies the song’s message with stark imagery that reflects the disorientation and isolation at the heart of the track. ANTI-SAPIEN have always approached their music with a raw honesty, and this visual companion pushes that commitment even further, matching the song’s heaviness with a bleak and direct look at the systems that grind people down.

About ANTI-SAPIEN:

ANTI-SAPIEN formed in Brooklyn in 2021 and grew quickly from a loose pandemic experiment into a touring force known for filthy death crust riffs, sweat soaked shows, and a message that cuts through the noise. The band began as a way for friends to blow off steam and write ugly, fun songs that blended their love of D beat punk, death metal, grind, and the classic New York slam tradition. What surprised them was how quickly audiences connected to not only the heaviness but the honesty. Kids responded to the riffs but also to the moments between songs where the band spoke openly about inequality, exploitation, and the systems that grind people down. That connection pushed ANTI-SAPIEN to take the project further, tighten their sound, and hit the road hard across the United States and eventually through Australia, Korea, and Japan.

They have played festivals like NEDM Funtime Bonanza and the NYDM International Fest, building a reputation for fast sets, filthy tones, and a refusal to shy away from uncomfortable truths.

They are proudly anti fascist, openly political, and committed to calling out abuses of power while keeping their shows rooted in community and catharsis. NEW ROCK SUPERGROUP, THE FELL, UNLEASH NEW SINGLE "FOOTPRINTS"

Rock supergroup THE FELL, featuring legendary bassist Billy Sheehan, multi-platinum producer Mike (K.) Krompass, and Australian vocal powerhouse Toby Rand, issued their debut EP, 'Killswitch,' on October 24th. And on November 28th, the band will released a new single, the melodic yet rocking "Footprints."

“Footprints perfectly blends everything I love about making records — a little bit of heavy, big pop-leaning melodies, and radio-ready hooks, all wrapped in a big, modern rock production," Krompass explained. "Toby Rand and I poured ourselves into this one and our collective personalities brought it to life.” 

“Footprints is that song where all the pieces fall into place — the energy of modern rock, the lift of a pop melody, and those undeniable radio hooks. One of my favs on the record. Toby Rand and I wanted to capture the sweet spot between modern rock intensity and hook-driven pop. It’s got riffs, melody, and a production that punches - it’s just us.” 

Sheehan also explained why the song remains so special to him. "'Footprints' is one of the very first songs I heard from Mike and Toby and I was instantly hooked! I love this track! And it led to the formation of The Fell!"

Rand also offered his support of the track. "'Footprints' is about realizing that sometimes we wander down the wrong path and find ourselves searching for redemption. By retracing our footprints, we can see where we took the wrong turns – and where we found success. It’s a reminder to keep navigating and to keep finding our way in an ever-changing, chaotic world. 'Footprints' was also the first completed song we created as a band, and became the barometer for the style of music we were writing. Excited to share this remix with the world."

Philadelphia Tri-State artist Celeste Corsano brings ethereal wave on new 'Shellfish' single

Alternative pop artist Celeste Corsano presents her new single 'Shellfish', the fifth in a series of stellar singles released via Magic Door Record Label. Based in Milford, Pennsylvania (on the border with New Jersey), this Kate Bush-esque offering brings a sound wrapped in analogue perfection. Brother and fellow artist Chris Corsano (Björk, Kim Gordon, Thurston Moore) has contributed the cover artwork. 

Produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Ray Ketchem (Guided by Voices, Elk City, Gramercy Arms, Luna, Crash Harmony) at Magic Door Recording Studio in Montclair, NJ, this song features James Mastro (The Bongos, Mott the Hoople, Ian Hunter, Patti Smith, John Cale) on electric guitar, Ketchem on drums and percussion, and David Nagler (Nova Social, Joan Baez, Aaron Neville, Rosanne Cash, Yo La Tengo) on bass and acoustic guitar.

"This is a break up song with a little fun put in... some cute, but pissed-off lyrics, because the heart is still wondering a little what the person has rationalized to enable themselves to sleep at night.  What better than to have a little bit of a tongue twister to illustrate an almost childlike awe at how another person could bring so much hurt with their selfish actions?" asks Celeste Corsano.

Corsano's compositions merge introspective writing with audacious arrangements, employing complex rhythmic structures and a vast emotional spectrum that ranges from ethereal contemplation to unbridled energy. Her fearless storytelling achieves a deeper, more candid truth through the natural application of asymmetric meters and multilayered vocal coloring. With an unassuming style, she conveys a disarming sincerity and vulnerability with messages that also resonate with a collective human experience.

"James Mastro's spot-on use and timing of the wah peddle in the pre-chorus is such a delight.  I was so thrilled when I first heard his ideas during the recording session. The effect lends itself to an underwater feel where a shellfish might reside as well as captures the mood and style of the song. He's such a thoughtful and creative guitarist and adds the perfect feel to the song," says Celeste Corsano.  

"David Nagler also played guitar on this track acoustically and it added so much. He introduced the idea for acoustic and it really worked and was the first song we used acoustic on. Ray's drums on this track had super energy and his arrangement idea of lengthening the ending so that the drums could really make a splash was excellent."

Earlier, Corsano released the singles 'Stuck', 'Nightbird', 'Sunlight Gazing', and her latest - 'XS' (with an animated video by Brother JT), expressing feelings of insecurity, body image issues, and the pressure for perfection and success. The emotional impact intensified by her sparse, almost innocent vocal quality, her sound recalls such artists such as Kate Bush, Tori Amos, and Julia Holter. Yet her unique persona shines brightly, establishing Corsano as a singular artist whose intensity and distinctive timbre are truly mesmerizing.

Celeste's artistry is inspired by her brothers - percussionist Chris Corsano and Latin roots musician Tony Corsano. Starting off in NYC's music scene, she was inspired by punk, new wave, poetry and art, not to mention countless studio sessions with ex-husband Brad Morrison (producer and Absolute A-Go-Go Records founder), working with the likes of Phish, the Figgs and Spiral Jetty. Initially performing Celtic and Bluegrass, she eventually began writing music rooted in the alternative music scene.

German extreme metal collective DER ROTE MILAN unveil their haunting new single “Où allez-vous”, offering a visceral preview of their forthcoming album Verlust. Translating to “Where are you going?”, the track plunges into the rawest corners of human grief, an exploration of loss, collapse, and the desperate search for meaning in suffering.

Driven by brooding melodies and the band's signature riff-laden intensity, “Où allez-vous” portrays a figure swallowed by darkness, cowering in the void while longing for a deliverance that never arrives.
