Sphere Deepens Kenny Chesney's Sense of His Own Music

When Kenny Chesney signed on to be only the sixth act and first country artist to play the 17,600-seat Sphere, he understood that he would be re-thinking many aspects of how he and his band would be approaching his iconic live show. With a wrap-around 160,000 square foot screen that extends from the stage across the domed ceiling, as well as sound that can be dialed in almost to the specific seat, the potential to deepen how the songs hit wasn’t lost on the songwriter/superstar from East Tennessee.

“I have always said No Shoes Nation is voracious in how they consume our music and the live shows, especially in the stadiums,” Chesney explains. “But now we have the potential with the way this theater is built, along with the super high-definition screen and sound, to almost have the music consume No Shoes Nation. The visuals and the mix will wrap around them, go over their heads and reinforce everything we’re doing on the stage.

“So, it’s not just seeing us, it’s having this whole new super vivid, full immersion way to experience the show, the band and absolutely the songs.”

As he began building the set list for Sphere, Chesney took a long look at his 33 No. 1s, as well as all the multiple week No. 2s and Top 5s, plus the fan favorites that have never been singles – and began thinking about how to build something that would give the concertgoers even more. Needing to shoot content on the patented Big Sky camera, which requires 12 people to operate it, the emotional core and sense of freedom of the songs started to emerge as a theme.

“I have always cut songs that felt real and true to my life,” says the man Wall Street Journal called “The People’s Superstar” of his revelation. “But in really listening, really thinking about what these songs say, I realized: there’s an awful lot of freedom to the songs, whether the narrator or the person being sung about, and an awful lot of facing life on its terms, but realizing you have the power to find the best possible outcome in any situation.

“When we were starting to think about what we should shoot, how to present the songs in this completely consuming environment showed me how much No Shoes Nation has been coming for the joy, but also for the sense that life can be lived fully no matter where you are or what you’re doing. Twenty years into playing stadiums, I’m amazed at the things I’m still learning about the songs I’ve been blessed to sing.”

Sphere is known for its 167,000 individual speakers, which can be dialed in to each section with dazzling specificity, and almost engulfing visual capabilities that deliver over 171 million pixels across the world’s highest-resolution LED screen. When you add in the songs that have defined people’s lives and coming of age in the 21st Century, the potential for the 12-night stand in Las Vegas is abundant.

About Jason Aldean:

ACM Artist of the Decade and 3X ACM Entertainer of the Year Jason Aldean has garnered nearly 30 No. 1 career hits, over 18 billion streams, and more than 20 million albums sold with “his own recipe…one that has vaulted him to the pinnacle of Country music success” (Atlanta Journal Constitution).  His history-making and prolific career has included nearly two decades of chart-topping hits, including “Dirt Road Anthem,” “Don’t You Wanna Stay,” “Fly Over States,” “She’s Country,” “Big Green Tractor,” “Amarillo Sky” and more. The Grammy-nominated hit-maker earned the most Top 10 songs on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart-more than any other artist- since his debut in 2005, with “songs of small-town living, love and loss that have resonated with a loyal fanbase” (Billboard). With the 2023 release of his 11th studio album, HIGHWAY DESPERADO, and his sold-out nationwide Highway Desperado Arena Tour, Aldean continued his “country superstar status" (Variety). The album earned the Georgia native his first career Hot 100 chart-topping hit with “Try That In A Small Town”- which earned Billboard Award nominations (2023) for “Top Song Sales Artist” and “Top Selling Song”- as well as the fan-favorite track “Let Your Boys Be Country” and current single, “Whiskey Drink.” Produced by longtime producer Michael Knox, Highway Desperado followed Aldean’s double album, MACON, GEORGIA, which earned the singer/songwriter praise for honing “in on his vision for this era of his career” and kicking off “his career's next era” (The Tennessean). The project’s featured the history-making, multi-week No. 1 Grammy-nominated "powerful duet" (Rolling Stone) “If I Didn’t Love You” with Carrie Underwood, which won ACM Single of the Year, iHeartRadio Country Song of the Year, and CMT Collaborative Video of the Year as well as Billboard and GRAMMY nominations. Currently in the studio working on new music, Aldean most recently graced the cover of Hook & Barrel Magazine’s January 2025 Cover, where he spoke about his career to date and new music and what is on the horizon in 2025. BLEED FROM WITHIN - Release Video For New Single 'A Hope In Hell'

Fresh off a monumental tour supporting genre greats SLIPKNOT across the UK and Europe, BLEED FROM WITHIN have released the video for their new single 'A Hope In Hell'. The latest cut from the new album Zenith, which is set for release on the 4th April via Nuclear Blast Records, is a brooding, anthemic slab of the kind of cutting-edge, modern metal that BLEEDhave become synonymous with.

On the new single, the band comment:

"'A Hope In Hell' is one of the more melodic cuts from our latest album and one that we all connected with early in the writing process. The evolution of this song is a great indicator of what we've explored on our latest release; we've pushed ourselves melodically but also found a dark and heavy groove that really underpins our sound. Looking at the lyrics, life doesn't get any easier and everyone you know is dealing with its challenges. We are caught in repeating cycles of adversity and hardship, but our perception can change once we accept that growth is on the other side of such things. Take from that what you will just know that we're rooting for you. Enjoy."

This Gift Is A Curse Ascend into Darkness on New Single

Though they bonded together after a chance encounter, for the past 16 years, This Gift Is A Curse have pushed the confines of underground metal  to violent extremes. On their upcoming fourth album, the Swedish band extend their all-encompassing reign with a cold, hard fist. Heir claims metal's crown of thorns behind an unruly arsenal of hardcore and sludge-encrusted black metal.

Today, This Gift Is A Curse are releasing the second single off Heir. "Ascension" serves as the album's harrowing finisher, summoning the darkness that dwells within us all.

Listen to "Ascension" below.

Heir comes out March 7, 2025 on Season of Mist.

"Ascension" is a post-apocalyptic liturgy that delves into the arcane spectrum of the human soul. This Gift Is A Curse unleash a torrent of blackened riffs, cascading over relentless blast beats that echo the primordial chaos from which all darkness is spawned. Jonas A. Holmberg vocals tear through the soul with a visceral intensity, swallowing you inside a ritualistic trance. Livmødr's Laura Morgan's haunting chants weave through the aural onslaught, providing an otherworldly contrast that beckons the spirit to rise amidst the ashes and transcend into the realm of shadows.

This Gift Is A Curse defies the transient trends of music, instead choosing to carve its path with the bones of the fallen. Their forthcoming album, 'HEIR,' is a relentless pursuit of the extreme, a mosaic of human suffering and the dark beauty that lies within. As the album prepares to sear its mark upon the world, one thing is clear: There will be no heirs to the throne of darkness that This Gift Is A Curse occupies. The crown is theirs alone, forged in the fires of creation and destruction, a beacon for those who dare to walk the shadows.

Loss Becomes Release "Sonder" Album + Share "Blink Once" Video

LOSS BECOMES — Brian Tsao, guitar; Will Gomez, bass; Anthony Copozzi, vocals; Anthony Lopardo, guitars; Sean Ageman, drums — have released their new album SONDER today, January 21. Get the album, which is being released digitally via The Orchard, here.

Limited edition colored vinyl and limited edition digipak CDs will be available via Silent Pendulum Records (SPR). Those items are available here.

Today, the band has shared the video for "Blink Once," a thrashy banger that captures the band in live performance mode.

Watch the video, which premiered over at Revolver, below.

"Life moves very fast," says Copozzi, offering insight into the song. "Sometimes relationships grow and last forever, and sometimes relationships shatter into a million pieces and that person becomes a stranger on the street. Some of the people you start out life with usually aren't at the finish line with you. Some of them leave and then come back. Most of the time, you realize the fact that they never filled your cup after you've been filling theirs for years. It's not fun when you realize some of the closest people in your life aren’t actually rooting for you at all. Sometimes they are rooting against you. This song is about exactly that. 'Blink once and you’ll miss me.''"

About the album as a whole, he explains:

"Sonder: The feeling one has on realizing that every other individual one sees has a life as full and real as one's own, in which they are the central character and others, including oneself, have secondary or insignificant roles.

'Sonder' is a word that has helped me connect a few dots about the lyrical content for this record, after the fact. I owe the title to my oldest brother Danny aka Yogi Reben.  We "stroke philosophy" sporadically over the phone. He's not local to me anymore but we touch base regularly. Over time, I try to be more considerate and understanding of my surroundings. Especially the people — be it strangers or even close friends and family.

"I applied that perspective to the lyrics on this record, which all have different emotional points of views — both mine and others. It's not a concept record, but each song touches upon one another in some way."

LOSS BECOMES LIVE SHOWS:

2/1 — Queens, NY — Bar Freda (supporting Kuru)

ABOUT LOSS BECOMES:
Hailing from Queens and Long Island New York, Loss Becomes are not your typical metal band. Guitarist, YouTuber, and Chef/Owner of Mission Sandwich Social, Brian Tsao, has put together a band like few others. Accompanied by long time friend Will "Doc" Gomez (Johnny Cage is a Fake, Tiger Flowers), Anthony Copozzi (Thracian), Anthony Lopardo (Westfall Recording Company), and Sean Ageman (Washed Up Media), Tsao and his bandmates have shaped Loss Becomes into a unique blend of metalcore with flashes of nu metal, hardcore thrash, and more. Having initially crafted their sound during the depths of the pandemic, Loss Becomes journey hasn't always been an easy one. After several years of hard work, the end product has been unleashed upon the world to critical acclaim. The music is unforgivingly aggressive with Anthony Copozzi’s ferocious enthusiasm heard on every lyric, giving the band what can only be described as a full aural assault. Loss Becomes are hungry and are forgetting their manners. Having performed alongside such acts as Alien Weaponry, Darkest Hour, Dr.Acula, Dying Wish, Extinction AD, Moon Tooth, Norma Jean, Swollen Teeth, and more, the band is no stranger to the stage. Loss Becomes are ready and able to take on all challenges regardless of genre and deliver a crushing live set.

Estonian Metalcore Quartet PRIDIAN Share Third Single “Out For Blood”

It might be their biggest year yet: After announcing their signing to label Century Media Records last September and releasing two hard-hitting singles, PRIDIAN isn't slowing down anytime soon. The band from Estonia is delivering their third single with “Out For Blood” while continuously teasing their upcoming album, which is set for a spring release this year.

Listen to "Out For Blood" HERE

Out For Blood” is almost a battle cry with its raw, hard-hitting lyrics, which encapsulate a relentless pursuit of justice while overcoming influences and perceptions from the outside world. Musically, the track captivates with a chaotic nature through its energetic riffs paired with EDM-style synths. Atmospheric elements, such as the almost robotic voices, create an addicting dynamic and relentless energy that makes one want to see this song come alive live.

Watch the Music Video for "Out For Blood" below.

Out For Blood” showcases that PRIDIAN is not afraid to get a bit more experimental with their sound. With Near Dark and “idoldust released prior, fans of the genre can keep their anticipation for this record high.

About PRIDIAN

Initially formed in 2018 by guitarists Jörg-Erik Hanikat and Martin Randalu, drummer Robert Leht, and completed by singer Laur Lindmäe, who joined in 2021, Estonian band PRIDIANquickly evolved their very own style and take on modern metal. Having released an album called 'The Rotten Unknown' under their name ÆØNS in 2021, the band was nominated for the “Metal Album of The Year” at the Estonian Music Awards and built the foundation of what’s to come under their new name.

Rebranded as PRIDIAN, the band released their debut EP 'Cybergnosis' in the fall of 2023 and constantly elaborated their unique sound. Their modern take on industrial soundscapes, metalcore, and catchy hooks made them known in the rising Estonian metal scene and beyond. Just one week before opening Sunday’s mainstage at the infamous Euroblast Festival in Cologne – their first-ever performance in Germany – the band announced their signing with German metal label Century Media Records to release their brand new single “Near Dark”, embarking on a new chapter of the band’s history.

HANGMAN'S CHAIR - Release New Single 'In Disguise'

Ahead of their next studio album, Saddiction, due on 14th February 2025 via Nuclear Blast, French doom metal pioneers HANGMAN´S CHAIR are back with their new single 'In Disguise'. A haunting, slow-burning shoegaze doom track that drifts through layers of sorrowful distortion. Its mournful lyrics unravel the weight of depression, echoing the isolation and darkness that consumes the soul.

HANGMAN'S CHAIR comments about 'In Disguise': "Wheather, debts, long time since failure, low motivational level, the feeling of a need to take action… already depressed? January 20th, more commonly known as “Blue Monday”, what a perfect day to release our third single “In Disguise”. A last fix before the launching of SADDICTION on Valentine’s Day. Enjoy!"

About Saddiction"SADDICTION is the contraction of 2 words, sadness, and addiction. It means the addiction to sadness. 7th effort of the band, for us, Saddiction is the second album of the new trilogy that started with A Loner back in 2022 and it’s the logical continuity. Keeping up with the cold, massively reverbed, and chorused atmosphere but now mixed with what Hangman’s Chair has been known for, the heaviness and the low-tuned sound, thanks to the magical sound engineer Francis Caste, once again. Valnoir of Metastazis designed the cover and resumed what the identity of Hangman’s Chair is all about in its purest form, concrete, pavement, bleakness, and ultra-modern solitude of the Parisian « banlieue ». Now, please don’t blame us for your saddiction. It has always been here. In your hearts, February 14th, 2025."

About HANGMAN'S CHAIR:
HANGMAN'S CHAIR, formed in 2005 in Paris, are one of the most unique-sounding Doom Rock bands currently active. Through the years, they have found and fine-tuned their own sonic brand, somewhere at the crossroads between TYPE O NEGATIVELIFE OF AGONY, and SISTERS OF MERCY, to name a few, mixed with a certain street credibility connected to the group’s roots in hardcore. Each album takes its strength and essence from the band members’s life experiences, which they portray with unflinching honesty. Whether it is the loss of band members, drug overdoses, or the hardships of living in suburban Paris, all those human emotions resonate within each of their songs as they embrace the darkness and transform it into something beautiful, heavy, and melancholic.

CRAZY LIXX Unveils New Single “Hunt For Danger” + Video

Swedish hard rockers CRAZY LIXX unveil their new single “Hunt For Danger”, taken from their highly anticipated new studio album, titled 'Thrill Of The Bite' and set for release on February 14, 2025, via Frontiers Music Srl. A new video, available below, accompanies the track.

Guitarist Chrisse Olsson comments on the new track:

“I'm really excited about our next single and music video release for 'Hunt For Danger,' from our upcoming album 'Thrill Of The Bite.' To me, this song is the perfect result of drawing inspiration from all the music I grew up with and all those great bands that influenced me and my musicianship from an early age. A song with a vibe from a time and an era that really made a mark and shaped my life, and still inspires me to make music to this day. When I first pitched this song to the band, I was fairly convinced that they would like it just as much as I do, and I'm extremely proud of the result, and everybody's contribution in making this into what I feel has the potential to become a real CRAZY LIXX classic. An obvious choice for a single in my book, and I'm glad the label and the band agreed. This is a song that is sure to take you back in time.”

Watch the New Video for "Hunt For Danger" below.

Vocalist Danny Rexon expresses his enthusiasm for the new album, by saying:

“So stoked to finally reveal the news of our upcoming album, set to be released in February 2025. Even though we did release some new songs on the compilation album earlier this year, it has been quite a while since the fans got a proper full length studio album with all originals, but now we can finally announce that that time is soon upon us. And dare I say that this album is one really worth waiting for? Personally, I'm really proud and happy with how it came out and I think that the response to the two singles we've put out so far ('Call Of The Wild' and 'Little Miss Dangerous') gives us a clear indication that our fans seem to agree.”

Since the latest studio album release with 'Street Lethal' back in the winter of 2021, fans have been eager to hear new CRAZY LIXX material, and even though the compilation album 'Two Shots At Glory' (2024) gave the listeners some covers, fresh takes on old songs, and a couple of new tracks, this next studio album is what they have all been dying to hear.

'Thrill Of The Bite' promises to elevate CRAZY LIXX’s rock music to new heights. Following the success of their previous album 'Street Lethal' (2021), this new record is packed with powerful anthems, memorable riffs and melodies, electrifying guitar solos, and the larger-than-life sing-along energy that fans have come to expect from the band, delivering what is already shaping up to be one of the bands strongest works in their 20+ year career.

The album features tracks that highlight the band’s ability to balance their nostalgic, sleaze-metal roots with their love for the 80s and early 90s, drawing inspiration from the flamboyant heavy metal and movies of that era alike. CRAZY LIXX have teased a few tracks, suggesting a turn to a heavier, riff-driven style while maintaining their signature melodic choruses and glam-influenced attitude.

With 'Thrill Of The Bite', CRAZY LIXX are poised to continue their reign as one of Sweden’s premier retro hard rock bands, solidifying their legacy in the global scene while pushing their creative boundaries even further.

Pre-Order 'Thrill Of The Bite' HERE

CRAZY LIXX are a Swedish heavy metal / hair metal / hard rock band hailing from Malmö, Sweden formed in 2002. Known for their energetic performances, catchy hooks, and an unapologetic revival of the glam metal sound from the late 80s, CRAZY LIXX has become a flagship of the New Wave of Swedish Sleaze Metal. The band draws inspiration from acts like Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe, Alice Cooper, RATT, Skid Row and Guns N’ Roses, creating a perfect blend of melodic hard rock with modern production values and a keen eye (and ear) for 80s and 90s nostalgia.

CRAZY LIXX first gained global recognition with their breakthrough albums 'Loud Minority' (2007), 'New Religion' (2010) and 'Crazy Lixx' (2014), including hits like “Blame It On Love”, “21 'Til I Die”, “Hell Raising Women” and “Girls Of The 80s”, who have all become favorites among the fans and classics in the modern hair metal community.

The band’s lineup has evolved over the years, but it is led by founder and frontman Danny Rexon, whose vocals, songwriting and music production skills are the driving force behind the group. Alongside him, the band currently consists of bassist and creative sidekick Jens Anderson, guitarists Jens Lundgren and Chrisse Olsson, and the newest addition in the form of drummer Robin Nilsson.

One OK Rock Drop New Track "Puppets Can't Control You"

Fueled By Ramen band ONE OK ROCK have today released a brand new track "Puppets Can't Contol You," available now at all streaming services — LISTEN below

The song was exclusively premiered during the first episode of the nationally televised drama Mikami Sensei in the band's native Japan just before its digital release, and will be featured on ONE OK ROCK's much-anticipated, forthcoming album DETOX, which arrives everywhere February 21 and available for pre-order + pre-save now.

Featuring a number of acclaimed producers including multiple GRAMMY® winner Rob Cavallo and GRAMMY® nominees Dan Lancaster and Pete Nappi, DETOX marks the band's 11th full length, studio release and set to arrive as the band celebrates their 20th anniversary next year.

Last month, the band heralded the announcement of DETOX by sharing the singles "+Matter," along with an official music video, joining previously released album tracks "Delusion:All" and "Dystopia." The band performed "+Matter" ahead of its release during their recent "2024 Premonition World Tour," which was enjoyed by nearly 200,000 fans over just eight shows across seven different countries last month. Standing out as their largest global run to date, the tour notably showcased their massive full-scale stadium show in Europe and North America for the first time ever.

ONE OK ROCK recently announced details for their 2025 Latin American tour, which kicks off in Mexico at the Tecate Pa’l Norte festival in Monterrey on April 4th, and highlighted by their first trip back to South America since 2017 to play their biggest shows on the continent to date (full itinerary below). Look out for more ONE OK ROCK news to come!

ABOUT ONE OK ROCK:
Founded in Tokyo during 2005, the quartet—Taka [vocals], Toru [guitar], Tomoya [drums], and Ryota [bass]—have unassumingly emerged as a global phenomenon and one of Japan's hottest exports with dozens of international gold and platinum certifications and billions of streams. Beyond six consecutive Top 5 entries and three #1 debuts on the Japanese Top Albums Chart, the group's global imprint has grown with a foothold stateside. They stand out as the rare force of nature who can tour alongside either The Smashing Pumpkins or Ed Sheeran—with whom they co-wrote '"Renegades" for the film Rurouni Kenshin: The Final. Produced by Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance), ONE OK ROCK’s most-recent studio album Luxury Disease debuted at #1 in Japan marking the band’s fourth straight chart topping album in their home country following the blockbusters 35xxxv, AMBITIONS, and EYE OF THE STORM. Luxury Disease is highlighted by the singles “Save Yourself,” “Let Me Let You Go,” and “Vandalize,” the latter of which featured as the ending theme for SEGA’s Sonic Frontiers.

Psycho-Frame Sign With SharpTone, Band Shares "FEED" Double Single Feat. "NO REVIVES" + "FEED"

SharpTone is pleased to announce it has signed PSYCHO-FRAME to its roster.

Today, the band has shared the FEED double single, featuring the songs "NO REVIVES" + "BREATHING NAPALM." Watch and listen here

"'NO REVIVES' is a high-paced track containing all of the elements that have defined PSYCHO-FRAME thus far, sonically consisting of innate technicality and crushing heaviness," the band says. "The song focuses lyrically on destroying narcissistic thought patterns and eliminating an ego that would convince someone they are above others."

Viscerally technical, crushingly heavy, PSYCHO-FRAME are a band comprised of several veterans of metal's various subgenres with a purpose of creating aggressive and immolating music. Emerging onto the scene with debut single "24 Hours Left" in April of 2023, Psycho-Frame referred to themselves as the last deathcore band — a legacy they continue to uphold with the release of two highly acclaimed EPs, Remote God Seeker in May 2023 and Automatic Death Protocol in December 2023. Vocalist Michael Sugars is also formerly of the band Vatican.

Since then, the band have hit the road, touring alongside Balmora (Ephyra), Dying Fetus (Relapse Records), SPITE (Rise Records), and more, refusing to limit their exposure and influence to the realm of contemporary deathcore. In a short period of time, Psycho-Frame has solidified their place in the underground music community. Combining consistent intensity with a captivating live performance and an aesthetic that pulls from retro sci-fi, horror and anime to complement the chaos of their sound, the band will settle for nothing less than total domination.

PSYCHO-FRAME ARE:
Michael Sugars — Vocals
Hunter Young — Guitar + Vocals
Aiden 'Dave' Bessent — Guitar
Jordan Crain — Guitar
Colter Cuthbertson — Vocals
Leo McClain — Drums

NYC outfit ECCE SHNAK shares 'The Internet' single ahead of new 'Shadows Grow Fangs' EP

NYC-based outfit Ecce Shnak presents their latest single 'The Internet', the third offering from their 'Shadows Grow Fangs' EP, out February 7 via Record Man, Records. Here, the quintet makes a fine mockery of the web from the perspective of a time-travelling poet. “What the fuck is the internet?!” Of course, this might sound a little ‘zany’, but it’s really not. Not at all. It’s intricately constructed, methodically fashioned, and – while undeniably offbeat – as serious and logical as it’s entertaining.

If there’s a fine line between wild-eyed, inspired genius and utter, irrepressible insanity, that’s where you’ll find Ecce Shnak, teetering on a neon tightrope. With Roush as composer, bassist, and one of two singers, he is joined by Bella Komodromos (vocals), Chris Krasnow (guitar), Gannon Ferrell (guitar), and Henry Buchanan-Vaughn(drums).

"The internet unites us as much as it alienates us. It is an avenue of both extreme bigotry and genuine human empathy, transmitted through the wires in the ocean and on the lands. This technology is as ubiquitous as it is fun as it is dangerous. It amplifies every part of human nature exponentially: our banalities, our flaws, and occasionally, even our virtues. It is as boring as it is exhilarating," says David Roush.

"Even the technicians of this digital landscape cannot fully grasp its effect on our lives. In this very perilous moment in human history, the internet could either make things very horrible, or it might help us in some critical ways. It is the ultimate paradox of human creation. Hence the question, “What the fuck is the Internet?” (Cue down beat)"

This single follows the stunning downtempo groove-inducing opus 'Prayer on Love' and the lead track 'Jeremy, Utilitarian Sadboy' about 19th Century English philosopher Jeremy Bentham, combining math-metal, post-rock and choral anthems in just 150 seconds.

Recorded and produced by Jeff Lucci at the Art Farm (NY), their debut EP was mixed by Nicholas Vernhes  (Animal Collective, Deerhunter, The Fiery Furnaces, Dirty Projectors, Wild Nothing, The War on Drugs) and mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Greg Calbi (John Lennon, David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, Talking Heads, Patti Smith, Tom Petty, Todd Rundgren).

Ecce Shnak subverts notions of style, playfully but reverently embracing multiple forms from across the spectrum, frequently within a single tune, while addressing weighty themes and notable trivia with striking articulacy.

'Shadows Grow Fangs' showcases Roush’s incomparable ingenuity and limitless invention over five songs, running the gamut from slow-burning meditations on love’s indispensability to mockery of the web from the perspective of a time-traveling poet – “What the fuck is the internet?!” Of course, this might sound a little ‘zany’, but it’s really not. Not at all. It’s intricately constructed, methodically fashioned, and – while undeniably offbeat – as serious and logical as it’s entertaining.

Talking with Roush is like meeting a thoughtful stranger with extraordinary knowledge of the weird and arcane, a fascination for society and what led us to where we are, and a noteworthy ability to share stories in an enlightening and empathetic manner. His narrative style is much like listening to an Ecce Shnak song, which frankly makes the band's name perfect. ("Ecce" is Latin for “Behold!”)

'The Internet' is out now, available everywhere from fine music platforms, includingSpotifyApple MusicYouTube Music and Bandcamp. The ‘Shadows Grow Fans’ EP will be released on February 7.

PYLETRIBE DROP FIERY NEW SINGLE "EGYPTIAN PRINCESS" Featuring Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Drummer Artimus Pyle and Guitarist Eric Gales

Combining the iconic talents of legendary Lynyrd Skynyrd member and Rock N Roll Hall of Fame drummer Artimus Pyle, the infectious vocal of son Chris Pyle, and the blistering guitar licks of Eric Gales, PYLETRIBE is proud to release their new single ‘EGYPTIAN PRINCESS” on Madison Records.

"EGYPTIAN PRINCESS" OVERVIEW:

Rock N Roll Hall of Fame Drummer Artimus Pyle Quote:

"EGYPTIAN PRINCESS”

was recorded at Ovation Studios with engineer William Stevens, and Chris Pyle wrote, sang, and played guitar on the track.  It is one of the coolest songs I’ve ever played drums on, especially when Guitar Wizard Eric Gales joined us with a scorching guitar solo. Rocking musicians all over the world will love this song!"  ARTIMUS PYLE

Singer Chris Pyle Quote:

“EGYPTIAN PRINCESS” is just one of those songs that feels so right from the very start", said band leader Chris Pyle.  "Having my dad on drums is always the most I could ever ask for.  And then to have Eric Gales, widely regarded as one of the best blues guitar masters in the world, to play on the song is such an honor!   "Egyptian Princess" was already a fiery groove and then Eric doused it with gasoline!"   CHRIS PYLE

According to GUITAR WORLD magazine, "Eric Gales is one of the greatest electric guitar players on the planet!"

ABOUT THE BAND

Being part of Lynyrd Skynyrd was a life-changing opportunity for Artimus. Not only did he form a close friendship with singer Ronnie Van Zant, but the music he made with the band cemented his place in rock and roll history. He and the other band members were recognized for their talent in 2016 when they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Artimus continues to make music and share his talent through PYLETRIBE, a band formed by his son Chris Pyle.  "Chris is an incredibly talented musician and songwriter, and I know Ronnie Van Zant would be proud of him,” Artimus says.

"PYLETRIBE really has been in the making my entire life, although most of that time I was playing as a drummer in other people's stories", said Chris. "Then it hit me one day that I had a lot to say, so I picked up the guitar and started writing the songs, and of course I had to have my dad on drums.  Playing with my dad, who was in one of the biggest bands in the world, has been a joy.  And there's just this natural bond that we share musically, which feels just like breathing to us when we play.  We don't even have to think.”

Dead Bars to Release "All Dead Bars Go to Heaven" 3/21 + Share "Give the Metalhead a Hug" Video

Seattle's DEAD BARS — John Maiello, C.J. Frederick, Jon Oddo, Elliot Thordarson, and Rosie Gonce — were described by Razorcake as a band that "makes something impossible to duplicate look so simple and attainable." #Truth

For over a decade the band, founded and led by Maiello, has been belting out life-affirming hard rock with the same gift for the craft as acts like Japandroids, White Reaper, and Fucked Up. Since then, they've earned both national accolades and a reputation as a local institution, the band you're likely to see sweating it up onstage any given night.

Their newest record, All Dead Bars Go To Heaven, reminds us that there's "arguably no better Seattle band," according to The Seattle Times. It arrives on March 21 via Iodine Recorings. Pre-order it here or here.

The album boasts 10 hook-laden heavy hitters, from rousing opener "I Wanna Be A Ghost" to anthemic closer "Be Me." It also comprises a new chapter: a reintroduction to a new generation ready to escape the grind, as well as a reminder to the previous one of their potency. The emphasis is on heaven: a place of eternal reward for a life lived virtuously, regardless of the love or loss that once defined it. When the band cries "Dead Bars Forever," they mean it.

Today, Dead Bars share the video for "Give the Metalhead a Hug." Watch it below.

"I was listening to a lot of grindcore and Chumbawamba when I wrote this song," says Maiello. "I grew my hair long. I worked at a metal venue/bar in Seattle. The metalheads were nice to me. The metalheads supported each other. This song is a reflection on the act of kindness, believing in your fellow humans, and finding community in an unlikely place."

Grindcore and... Chumbawamba? Amen to that!

Additionally, fans can listen to the Dead Bars x KEXP takeover on Saturday, January 18 from 10-11pm PT. The band will sit in studio, spin some tracks, and talk with Dr. West on "Sonic Reducer Punk Show." Tune in at KEXP.org.

Koe Wetzel’s “High Road (feat. Jessie Murph)” Makes History With 5th Week at No. 1

Koe Wetzel continues his meteoric rise into 2025 as “High Road” featuring Jessie Murph, both artists’ first single at Country radio, remains atop the Billboard Country Airplay chart for a fifth consecutive week. “High Road” is only the sixth debut single to achieve this feat since the chart’s inception in 1990 and marks the first song by two acts each charting for the first time to ever earn that distinction.

“The way ‘High Road’ has connected has been unreal, and to wrap my head around the fact that it’s stayed at No. 1 for over a month now is honestly hard to do,” marvels Wetzel. “It’s a hell of a way to start 2025.”

“Getting to No. 1 is difficult; staying there for five weeks is very difficult and only happens if the song is a true bonafide smash hit record,” RECORDS Nashville EVP Josh Easler shared with Billboard as he earned Executive of the Week honors in recognition of the milestone achievement.

“High Road” is the lead single off Wetzel’s fifth studio album and fourth Billboard Top 10, 9 Lives (Columbia), which has proven to be a defining album for the Texan renegade, earning recognition on multiple year-end best-of lists, including Rolling StoneBillboard, the TennesseanHoller and more, with the Los Angeles Times naming “High Road” specifically as the No. 8 best song of 2024 across all genres.

Written by Wetzel alongside Murph, Amy Allen, Carrie Karpinen, Laura Veltz, Josh Serrato and producer Gabe Simon, the single has amassed more than 330 million global streams en route to becoming Wetzel’s fastest RIAA Platinum certification to date.

As Wetzel dominates the airwaves, he’s also gearing up for another high-throttle year on the road, with upcoming headlining shows at the San Antonio Rodeo, Windy City Smokeout, Tailgates N’ Tallboys and more, plus prominent sets at Stagecoach and CMC Rocks (Australia) and more exciting tour news coming soon.

About Koe Wetzel
Koe Wetzel never met a genre wall he couldn’t tear down. The Texas singer-songwriter has earned a rabid audience for his songs that mix country, rock, hip-hop, and even Nineties grunge. With his defining fifth studio album, 9 Lives, released in 2025 via Columbia Records, Wetzel earned recognition on several major year-end best-of lists, including Rolling StoneBillboard, the Tennessean and more, with the Los Angeles Times naming lead single “High Road” (feat. Jessie Murph) as the No. 8 best song of 2024 across all genres. The single not only marked Wetzel’s debut at Country radio, it also held the No. 1 spot for five weeks and became his fastest song to reach the RIAA Platinum milestone to date. Previously, his 2016 album Noise Complaint endeared him to fans with its no-holds-barred lyrics about drunken nights, broken hearts and stints in jail, and included the Gold-certified hits “Love” (feat. Parker McCollum), “Something to Talk About” plus the infamous “February 28, 2016.” Wetzel’s 2020 major label debut, Sellout, only furthered his legend with the Platinum-certified “Drunk Driving” and “Good Die Young” plus the Gold-certified “Kuntry & Wistern.” The 2022 follow-up, Hell Paso, hit No. 3 on Billboard’s Country Albums and spawned hits on both the country and rock charts, including the Gold-certified “Creeps” and “Cabo.” To date, Wetzel has amassed 3.7 billion total streams and has created a genuine experience with his live concerts, which he describes as “total chaos.” In 2023 alone, he sold more than 275,000 tickets, appearing for a third time on POLLSTAR’s Top Worldwide Tours. Wetzel again performed for well over 200,000 fans across the U.S. in Europe in 2024, with over 96% of all headline tickets sold, in addition to playing prominent festival sets and opening for Morgan Wallen on the superstar’s One Night at a Time Stadium Tour.
