FRANK RAY’S “UH-HUH (AJÁ)” IMPACTS RADIO TODAY

One of country music's most promising emerging artists, Frank Ray impacts country radio today with his new single “Uh-huh (Ajá)” via Stoney Creek Records and is bringing some sizzling Latin heat to the country format this summer. Earning a coveted spot among the top three most-added tracks at country radio this week, “Uh-huh (Ajá)” is available HERE.

Recently named “One of the most influential Latinos'' by TIME Magazine, Frank Ray’s intoxicating “Uh-huh (Ajá)” will have you so infatuated with your partner that you’ll join as he dances between English & Spanish lyrics in this smash penned by Shay Mooney (Dan+Shay) & Pedro Capó (2 billion+ streaming artist) alongside Jesse Frasure and Vibarco. Produced by GRAMMY® nominated Dave Pittenger, Ray’s heritage shines reminding listeners why Good Morning America lauded him among “Latino country artists that are expanding the genre while honoring their roots.”

“Music is the best representation of who I am,” says Ray. “Shay and Pedro perfectly captured the essence of Latin music, with constant changes, vibrant horns and rhythmic percussive elements. The second I heard the demo I immediately knew I needed to put this song out as my next single because it encompasses everything I'm known for, whether it's traditional country music, family tunes, party anthems, R&B rhythms, pop, soul or Latin flavor - there's something in this song for everyone.”

Ray has been equally busy off the stage as on, continuing to work hard raising attention on the subject of mental health awareness for our first responders through his organization, FRAY.  Ray was recently named Chief Ambassador of the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C. and this weekend will have a major presence at this year’s Police Week.  Frank will be presenting an award at the Annual Top Cops Award Gala and will also be performing The National Anthem and other songs at the Police Week Vigil on The National Mall directly in front of the United States Capitol which will include more than 50,000 police officers and survivors of those officers who were killed in the line of duty. Additionally, in the last twelve months Ray has visited fifty-nine police and fire departments across the United States and Canada to speak to our heroes about the importance of speaking up when you are not feeling okay, and that it is okay to say “I am not okay.”

"Sticking to my roots, who I am and how I was raised and releasing a Country Latin single is very noteworthy because the Latin culture can be represented in a way that has not been done in the mainstream music genre for decades. I have the opportunity to bring the Latin flavor to country music fans, but also to bring country music to a whole new audience," said Frank Ray about the significance of "Uh-huh (Ajá)."

About Frank Ray:

Texas chart-topper, bilingual recording artist and former police officer - Frank Ray is busting open doors in the country genre, adding his signature Latin flavor to the scene. Growing up just three miles from the border in New Mexico, Frank, born Francisco Gomez, was immersed in the best of both worlds - enriched by his Mexican culture and surrounded by Texas Country music. Praised as “easygoing contemporary Country with Pop-Soul hooks and a dash of Southwestern spice” (Rolling Stone), Frank’s “catalog is representative of his fun personality and flair” (Country Now), expertly blending ‘90s Texas Country, Latin, R&B and Pop. As an entertainer, Frank delivers electrifying, high-energy performances that have something for everyone. With immense cross-cultural appeal and a panorama of influences, “One of the most influential Latinos'' (Time Magazine), Ray “is looking to stretch Country music’s cultural boundaries” (Los Angeles Times).

In the three short years since embarking on his musical journey full-time, he has racked up two No. 1 singles and three Top 10 singles on Texas Country Radio, become a staff songwriter, signed a record deal with BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville and much more. Along with being named an “Artist to Watch” by Rolling Stone and Amazon Music USA as well as a “Listen Up Artist” by CMT, Ray has appeared on USA Network’s Real Country, been profiled in the Los Angeles Times and on NBC's TODAY.

Named to the Country Radio Seminar (CRS) New Faces Class of 2023, Ray has shared stages with Luke Combs, Kane Brown, Brett Eldredge, Luke Bryan, Kip Moore, LANCO, Hunter Hayes and more. Recently on tour with Old Dominion and performing at major music festivals across the U.S, Frank visits first responders through his mental-health initiative FRAY (First Responders Mental Clarity), at each tour stop providing first responders with the tools, resources and training to promote their mental wellbeing, as well as that of their families and communities.

The latest from Frank Ray is the intoxicating "Uh-huh (Ajá)" that will have you so infatuated with your partner that you’ll join as he dances between English & Spanish lyrics in this smash penned by Shay Mooney (Dan+Shay) & Pedro Capó (2 billion+ streaming artist). Produced by GRAMMY® nominated Dave Pittenger, Ray’s heritage shines, reminding listeners why Good Morning America lauded him among “Latino country artists that are expanding the genre while honoring their roots.”

SIMONE SIMONS - Announces Debut Solo Album Vermillion + Releases First Single 'Aeterna'

SIMONE SIMONS has been a pioneering force within the world of metal for over two decades as part of EPICA. Now, alongside her musical partner and longtime collaborator, ARJEN LUCASSEN (AYREON), she embarks on the journey of her debut solo record, Vermillion.

ARJEN is no stranger to SIMONE's soaring operatic voice, one that can stir even a gargoyle’s stone heart to tears. Together they have crafted a sonic universe that befits the influential figure she is. Vermillion emerges as a gargantuan goose-bump generator, a universally touching, stellar tour de force. Vermillion will be released on the 23rd of August via Nuclear Blast Records.

Alongside the announcement of her debut solo record, SIMONE has released a video for the album's first single, 'Aeterna'. You can watch the video for 'Aeterna' below.

SIMONE and ARJEN state:
"Aeterna is the big, epic opener of the album and it comes with this amazing video too, directed by Patric Ullaeus. It definitely sounds the closest to  Epica and Ayreon, blending powerful Latin lyrics with a touch of an oriental feel. We’ve tried to strike a balance between the mighty, bombastic sounds and the more atmospheric parts. Since it’s the first track people will hear from this album, it’s super important to us and we’re really excited for people to hear it!

Aeterna takes the point of view of a star about to go supernova to explore how everything in the universe is interconnected, like a cosmic web made from stardust. It deals with our deep emotions, consciousness, and other mysteries of life that science still can’t fully explain. Essentially it’s a reflection on our place in the vast universe and the connections that bind us together, as we’re all, to quote Carl Sagan, “made of starstuff."

About SIMONE SIMONS:

For more than 20 years, ever since she was a teenager, SIMONE SIMONS has been carving her own path as a woman within the world of metal. As a lead singer, icon, and role model for a whole generation of female metalheads, the Epica lead singer remains one of the most prominent key figures in all things metal. After eight albums and countless global tours with her band, SIMONE SIMONS finally found the time to release her first solo album – a moment 15 years in the making! Her breathtaking debut Vermillion is a stunning feat chronicling her storied past as well as her rise to fame, and showcasing her many different influences ranging from prog rock to film scores to metal to electronic elements.

Of the timing for her eagerly awaited foray into the realms of a solo career, the Dutch singer says with a disarming grin: Epica has my priority and I always have the liberty to do other musical projects besides my career in Epica. Yet, I never had the time to dive into a project to this extent.
Some endeavors require patience and time, and rightly so. Simone chose not to rush her solo project, opting instead to thoughtfully consider how she wanted to present herself. Enter stage right Arjen Lucassen (AYREON). Her musical partner and longtime collaborator is no stranger to her soaring operatic voice. Together they have crafted a sonic universe that befits the influential figure she is. And while many would use their solo effort as a radical, even provocative departure from everything they stood for, SIMONE remains true to her love for epic melodies, huge choruses and monumental, intelligent music.

Severe Torture Inflict Peak Punishment on New Single

Severe Torture unleash another brutal beating on Torn from the Jaws of Death, their upcoming sixth album. Today, the veteran Dutch band are releasing its third single, which grinds and twists into a raw pinnacle of death metal.

Listen to "The Pinnacle of Suffering" Below.

Torn From The Jaws of Death comes out June 7 on Season of Mist.

With all the sublety of a warhammer, Severe Torture hit upon the purest, most ferocious strain of brutal death metal. Torn from the Jaws of Death emerges from the grim embrace of Torture Compound Studios, where it was sharpened to diabolic perfection under the fiendish expertise of Mendel bij de Leij.

On "The Pinnacle of Suffering", Severe Torture wields the macabre like a rusty chain. Marching to a blistering beat of drums, these death masters drag you into a shadow world where no one can hear you scream.

For over 25 years, SEVERE TORTURE has embodied the ethos of Brutal. Death. Metal. A genre-defining titan, they’ve held a commanding presence in the metal universe since 1997, blending intense performances with a relentless commitment to their visceral, raw sound.

Born from the bowels of the Dutch underground, the band emerged onto the world stage with their debut album Feasting On Blood, hailed as an epic watershed in the nascent wave of brutal death metal in 2001. Their hard-hitting, merciless sound has since rippled across North and South America, Europe, and Mexico; their trail marked by five ground-breaking releases over the past quarter-century.

Remaining relevant in the ever-evolving realm of metal is no small feat, a task Severe Torture met by continuously levelling up. In pursuit of rejuvenation and to capture the aggression and energy befitting of a new era, they amicably parted ways with original drummer Seth in 2018, bringing Damiën Kerpentier into the fold. The move signified a new chapter for the seasoned ensemble, marking a seismic shift that breathed fresh air into their creative process, leading to some of their darkest, most profound work yet.

This invigorated spirit came to life in 2022 with the release of the EP Fisting The Sockets – the band's first release in an astounding 12 years. The record served as a triumphant herald for their resurgence, re-signing with Season of Mist and rekindling the flame of their brutal origins amidst a pandemic-stricken world.

Now, in 2024, Severe Torture is set to escalate to new heights of sonic savagery with their sixth full-length album, Torn from the Jaws of Death. Recorded at the infamous Torture Compound Studios, the album stands as a testament to the raw energy, blood, sweat, and relentless brutality that the band represents.

From the aggressive whirlwind of riffs in The Death of Everything, to the haunting black metal nuances of the title track Torn from the Jaws of Death, the album is a death metal cogitation on murder, torture, and the madness of organized religions. Crafted with an unwavering commitment to the genre, Torn from the Jaws of Death is a grim reflection of the world, drenched in the band’s signature brutal death metal sound.

As the anticipation mounts for the release of Torn from the Jaws of Death, you can be sure Severe Torture remains alive and thriving in the heart of brutal death metal, pushing boundaries, and refusing to bow to conventions. A quarter-century in, these stalwarts of the scene are just getting started. Stay tuned to witness their relentless progression as they continue their incessant march through the annals of metal history.

In other Beartooth news, their latest single "I Was Alive" landed at No. 1 on both the Billboard Mainstream Airplay Chart and the US Mediabase Active Rock radio chart — it landed on the latter chart for the week of April 27 and has stayed there for two weeks. The single marks the band's second No. 1 in six months, following their previous single, "Might Love Myself," which was the band's first-ever No. 1 at the format. Beartooth achieving back-to-back, chart-topping singles at radio is a testament to their decade of growth and the power of The Surface.

ABOUT BEARTOOTH:
Caleb Shomo first turned the pain of his struggle with mental health and self-image into music in 2013.

Beartooth began as a living document, a diary, a journal of repressed rage and depression. Alone in his basement studio, screaming and singing, playing all the instruments, and self-producing a batch of furious but melodic songs filled with reflection and confession, the Ohio native stared into the abyss, initially with no intention of returning to the heavy music world that burned him as a teen. A decade later, the different pieces of his body of work connect in title, sound, and spirit. As the frontman hits 30, Beartooth's 2023-released fifth album, The Surface, completes this era. It kicked off a new chapter filled with surprising optimism and just as honest. Depression is a sick, disgusting, aggressive disease below the surface. Shomo stands ready to bask in the light.

Like Nine Inch Nails, Beartooth remains a one-person band in the studio. On the heels of the introductory Sick EP (2013), Disgusting (2014) produced the band's first Gold single, "In Between." Aggressive (2016) and Disease (2018) expanded on the desperation and pain, each a step closer to a balance between the blood and tears of classic recordings and the shimmer of modernity.

Rolling Stone heralded Beartooth as one of 10 Artists You Need to Know. The rabid response to Shomo's music demonstrated how many people related to his struggle for self-acceptance. Below (2021) topped the Rock and Alternative charts and several Best Rock/Metal Albums of the Year lists. As of 2024, the Beartooth catalog boasts more than one billion streams across all platforms.

Beartooth began as both bomb and balm, an outright refusal to suffer in silence, weaponizing radio-ready bombast, delivering raw emotion mixed with noise-rock chaos. Other bands play the "devastating riffs and catchy hooks" game, but this music is the difference between life and death, and now, a sort of life after death while still here. The band Forbes sees "inching towards a tipping point of becoming the latest arena headliner" is now one step closer.

ABOUT FALLING IN REVERSE + POPULAR MONSTER:
FALLING IN REVERSE return with 2024's Popular Monster, the postmodern trailblazer's first full-length in seven years. The album arrives armed with no less than three RIAA-certified gold singles ("ZOMBIFIED," "Voices in My Head," "Watch the World Burn"), the double-platinum title track, a reimagined nü-metal classic, and six brand new anthems of furious metal, melody, and hip-hop.

Popular Monster is a defiant statement and triumphant victory for singer, songwriter, bandleader, and provocateur Ronnie Radke, who invented Falling In Reverse inside a prison cell.

Radke fills the fifth full-length from Falling In Reverse with invincible and irresistible songs that resonate across generations and genres. Co-produced with longtime collaborator Tyler Smyth (I Prevail, Lights), Popular Monster is full of confessional angst, bravado, and clever wordplay.

Ronnie formed a series of pop-punk bands in Las Vegas as a teenager, culminating in the creation of Escape The Fate. The metalcore group's meteoric rise coincided with the singer’s spiral into addiction. By the time he was sentenced to two years in prison, the band he started had moved on without him. Some fans, critics, and industry types figured his story would end there.

They were very wrong.

The gold-certified debut album from Falling In Reverse, The Drug In Me Is You (2011), arrived less than two years after Ronnie's release. Thanks to his formative fascinations with metal, punk, and hip-hop, he almost single-handedly revived rap rock with the ambitious Fashionably Late (2013). Just Like You (2015), debuted in the Top 5 on the US Rock chart. The grungy and atmospheric Coming Home (2017) demonstrated yet another adventurous side of Radke's self-expression.

"Losing My Mind" and "Losing My Life" surprised the so-called "scene" all over again in 2018 when he became the first of his peers to swerve from the album format to standalone singles. "Drugs" explored the American substance abuse epidemic and channeled Ronnie's own heartbreak.

The massive "Popular Monster" became Ronnie's first No. 1 song on the radio and his first platinum single less than two years after its release. It was also the first No. 1 song on Billboard's inaugural Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, which considers airplay, streaming, and downloads. "Popular Monster" eventually went double-platinum in the US and 3x platinum in Australia. "ZOMBIFIED" and "Voices In My Head" went to No. 1 back-to-back. "Voices In My Head" was also the No. 1 Song of 2022 at SiriusXM's Octane. The unconventional, caustic, and super heavy "Watch the World Burn" dominated rock radio in 2023 and improbably became his first Billboard Hot 100 song.

As with the top-notch producers and directors Ronnie has hired to help execute his vision, he'd regularly surrounded himself with incredible live players, resulting in unforgettable performances with various lineups over the years. Radke owns the stage, whether taking the Warped Tour mantle held by My Chemical Romance, Avenged Sevenfold, and Fall Out Boy in the tour's final years, performing in prominent spots on every major rock festival, or on massive headlining treks.

Popular Monster, the album, marks another chapter in the ongoing story of an artist who continually beats the odds, surmounting obstacles (and adversaries) both within and without.

"Radke stands as one of this generation's most revered rock frontmen," wrote the esteemed Forbes Magazine in a 2020 profile. "And maybe even one of the scene's last true rockstars."

"...you can hear a delicately strummed acoustic guitar here, a traditional flute there. "To get right to it, Blackbraid II is an early contender for black metal record of the year... able to take the traditional sounds of black metal and then further shape and move them in a very distinct and novel direction." - Metal Injection (10/10)

"Sgah’gahsowáh channels his heritage and love for the earth through his music, and with that, he also brings a certain energy that conjures up desert dunes and rolling planes from North America just as well as a Norwegian black metal band conjures up snowy, bleak hills." - Metal Sucks (4.5/5)

"...forging a new path forward for black metal in 2023, one that will likely continue to set him apart from his contemporaries and become one of the biggest new faces in the genre for years to come." - Heavy Music HQ (4.5/5)

Putting music on hold for academic pursuits, he then earned a PhD in Humanities and taught at various universities for eight years before returning to music. Now back as a solo artist, Abong also plays bass in the Kristin Hersh Electric Trio. He has also been a practicing Vedic astrologer for the past 20 plus years.

"This album is a first for me. Composed entirely on keyboard/piano, I wanted to challenge my songwriting, to not rely on guitar to guide or limit what showed up. The first and biggest problem with this is that I don’t play piano. So I really had to have faith that the gods of music would show mercy on me … would be there for me if I was earnestly there for them. As always, I’ll let the listener decide whether or not my instrumental humility was divinely rewarded, but I personally feel that the Blindness album, if nothing else, reflects a willingness to follow artistic intuition wherever it may lead. This is something of a credo for me. In love as in music, I follow my heart," says Fred Abong.

A Filipino-American singer-songwriter, Abong's music has a raw and unpolished production aesthetic with an overall direct, though deceptively imaginative and oblique, presentation. Taking a detour from the musical road most traveled, Abong wrote the material for this album on the piano rather than bass or guitar, effectively opening up a new compositional and emotional space for him.

“Love is blind. Is this a truism or just true? I suppose it depends on where you are on the romantic journey. If the romance is fresh, then infatuation and sexual desire are usually foregrounded. You are ‘blinded by love’ and can see nothing else. Anyone who’s ever fallen in love is familiar with this. It’s dizzying," says Abong.

"As things progress, or in order for things to progress, another type of blindness must develop. Being blinded by love, in this case, means accepting or even loving difference - being blind to competing or incompatible attitudes. It means placing the other’s happiness on an equal footing to one’s own. It’s not dizzying; it’s grounding. True love, then, combines both forms of blindness. It’s ‘blind in both eyes’, you could say. I think Blindness, both the song and the album, reflects (among other things) a pursuit of this total love blindness - it’s hopeful and aspirational in that sense.”

Between the bookends of the new 'Blindness' album and 'Homeless', the first set of songs as a solo artist, originally self-released in 2018, Abong has released several critically acclaimed records, including his self-recorded 2023 'Fear Pageant' and earlier albums 'Yellowthroat''Pulsing' and 'Our Mother of Perpetual Help'.

On May 9, the 'Blindness' album will be released on CD, along with his 'Homeless' album, both of which can be pre-ordered via the label's Bandcamp. It will also be available everywhere digitally, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp.

Brighton's NICK HUDSON releases 'Kanda Teenage Honey' album on CD - introspection, intrigue and adventurous soundscaping

“Beautifully written, recorded, produced and arranged... all complimented by vocal that lives up to the same standard. No cheating, no fronting, just honest crafted musicality”  ~ Billy Gould (Faith No More)

"Kanda Teenage Honey is shockingly emotional, thoughtfully orchestrated and wonderfully curious lyrically. It is a record for true music lovers" ~ Jamie Stewart (Xiu Xiu)

"A profound, clever and vividly confessional Avant-pop composer, Hudson is always pushing the envelope in his works, his unique musical output forged via musical territory that is hardly explored" ~ The Spill Magazine

"There isn’t really anyone making music like Nick Hudson“ ~ The Quietus

“Nick Hudson is a unique talent. His song writing and performances are breathtaking.  He is long overdue being heard by a wider audience. This solo album is a peak in an already stellar career” ~ Stuart Braithwaite (Mogwai)

"Scott Walker channeling Coil” ~ MOJO Magazine

Brighton avant-pop artist Nick Hudson announces the release of his new album 'Kanda Teenage Honey' on CD.  Complementing an expansive 16-track collection, this 4-panel CD digipak comes with an 8-page full colour booklet containing artwork by Nick Hudson and Berdia Arabuli and photography by Carl Solomon, Jack Hubbell Rosene and Kenneth Anger.

With recent coverage in Billboard, this album was recorded largely in a huge former Soviet movie studio in Georgia under the shadow of the Ukraine war. Born of geographical explorations amidst musical territory that is hardly touched on, this record was previewed by the singles 'For My Silence' and 'Khevsureti'.

Mixed by and featuring Toby Driver of Kayo Dot, this album involves numerous talented guests, including Mogwai's Stuart Braithwaite, Stuart Dahlquist (Asva, Burning Witch, Sunn O))), Lizzy Carey (Bat For Lashes), Robert Wyatt collaborator Alfreda Benge, Christopher Nell (legendary German performer and collaborator of US theatre visionary Robert Wilson), and soprano prodigy Poppy Efemey.

Recorded with Ilya Lukashev at Leno Studio and Sano Studio in Tbilisi, this album was mastered to analogue tape by Paul Pascoe (Barry Adamson, Beat Hotel, Sleaford Mods) at Church Road Studios in Hove, Hudson collaborates with some incredible Georgian musicians and his friend Seva, a Russian dissident who fled the FSB, having worked for Navalny. Hudson explains, "He contributes a poem narrating his thoughts on exile, through which I've layered field recordings of the recent Tbilisi and Paris protests, where many of us got tear-gassed."

"Russia attempted to invade Georgia most recently in 2008 and we've seen a vast influx of Russians fleeing the conflict and resettling in Tbilisi (which endures and suffers a pro-Russian government ideologically in conflict with most of its citizens). This geopolitical tension has inevitably made its way into the lyrical and musical texture of the record via the songs 'Hollow Man' and 'Sky Burial While Alive'. It also contains oligarch-hexing magic realism and a tribute to that vastly-neglected demographic – the old-school homosexual. Musically it encompasses art rock, black metal, ambient music, agitprop folk, charred goth rock, symphonic vastness and piano ballads -all infused with the energies and landscape of Georgia," says Nick Hudson.

In 2021, Hudson released his 'Font Of Human Fractures' album and the 'K69996ROMA:EP'. His band The Academy of Sun released their opus album 'The Quiet Earth' the year before. He's collaborated with such legends as Wayne Hussey (The Mission), Matthew Seligman (David Bowie, Tori Amos, Morrissey), Massive Attack's Shara Nelson, plus David Tibet (Current 93) and queercore icon GB Jones. His vast output also encompasses painting, film and a novel.

"As an album, 'Kanda Teenage Honey' explores ideas of preserving the sacred from the corrosively kleptocratic institutions of church and state: spiritual and material kleptocracy.  The title itself refers to a very real preservation of innocence derived from a story I heard of a local villager whose teenage son was shot and killed: the father had his son's body preserved in honey. As such, there are secular hymns for peace and lucid stillness, tales of saints de-martyring themselves and falling in love free of judgement from anachronistic scrutiny - a thinly veiled parable of queer love.  Two very close friends died within six months of each other during my first year in Georgia – there are requiems in the songs 'Archipelago' and 'Bardo', plus an acappella tribute to the Siberian husky that helped me grieve them during a retreat to the sublime mountainous region of 'Khevsureti' by the Chechen border, where despite being an ostensibly Orthodox country, pagan traditions are still passionately observed.  I dreamed eighty-percent of 'Bardo' in the energised serenity of this beautiful region while mourning my friend Jesse. Patrick, honoured in 'Archipelago', was one of my earliest mentors and a dynamically brilliant pianist.  They are much missed," explains Nick Hudson.

"'Ortolan' references the summer of 2021, when I fled to the same Isle Of Wight monastery at which Scott Walker had sought refuge in the sixties, as my mental and physical health hit a nadir and I was forced to leave the city I'd called home for twenty years. 'This Heat' refers to a return journey from a plague necropolis at the Chechen border, where giddily drunken park rangers piloting a 4X4 hurtled us passengers down a treacherous mountain pass and I briefly thought it might be the last song I'd ever write.  Since then, I've come to learn that Georgians are some of the virtuosic drivers in the world, even drunk, and I need not have feared."

'Kanda Teenage Honey' is out now, available everywhere digitally, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, along with his new book 'The Land Exists So The Seas Don't Argue', showcasing a decade of lyrical output in five albums plus ephemera with a foreword by renowned Scottish author Chris Kelso.

Chase Rice Sets "Fireside" for Release This Friday, May 10

Having tapped into a new creative well celebrated by Billboard as “one of 2023’s most unexpected artistic pivots” on his critically acclaimed album I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell, Chase Rice is prepared to get even more vulnerable on his forthcoming project. One of country music’s few Diamond-certified songwriters, he debuts the first preview of what’s to come this Friday, May 10 with “Fireside,” available for pre-order / pre-save HERE.

Penned by Rice alongside Jonathan Sherwood, Jackson Dean and producer Oscar Charles, “Fireside” offers a propulsive guitar-driven anthem embracing fiery passion and the intoxicating power of a relationship, with the single art paying tribute to the love story of his own parents. The song marks the first release from Rice off a forthcoming independent album expected later this year.

“The I Hate Cowboys album was a huge turning point for me,” reflects Rice. “I felt like a decade into this career, I finally discovered who I was and what I wanted to say – and a lot of that came out of me stepping back from the grind of Music Row, sitting alone with a guitar to write those songs. I found that I could be much more vulnerable that way and tap into some real-life, personal topics I’d never covered in my music before.

“As I started to work on this next project and continued down that path with out-of-town writing retreats in places like Montana, Alabama, Boston and Carolina, it felt important that it be an independent release coming straight from me. I’m sharing a lot of my real life on these songs and I can’t wait to see how that resonates with people in their own lives.”

While Rice still excels at creating music that thrills his sold-out live audiences, I Hate Cowboys pushed him to do so at a higher level, with Billboard noting, “the music is still propulsive with arena-ready moments, but is laced with deeper, more introspective themes” and Forbes declaring, “his latest album shows a deeper, more reflective Chase Rice than we’ve seen in the past a full-circle, career defining journey for Rice, as both a singer and a songwriter.”

He brings the new song to the Grand Ole Opry next Tuesday, May 14 ahead of joining Dierks Bentley’s Gravel & Gold Tour visiting arenas and amphitheaters nationwide from June through September in addition to prominent sets at major festivals including Tailgate N’ Tallboys, Summerfest, Windy City Smokeout and more.

About Chase Rice
With more than 2.6 million albums sold and over 2.7 billion total streams, plus a legion of passionate fans at his high-energy concerts across the globe, Chase Rice has established himself as a powerful force in Nashville and beyond. With new release “Fireside” available everywhere this Friday, May 10 as the follow-up to critically acclaimed album I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell, Rice’s sound continues to evolve to reflect the realities of his life; from emotional reckoning to an admiration of the Western way of life. The recent album, including standout tracks “Oklahoma” and “Bench Seat,” serves as a follow up to his three-part project, The Album, which featured his latest Platinum-certified No. 1 hit, “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.” and the Platinum-certified Top 10 hit “Lonely If You Are.”

This is the same gravelly-voiced Chase Rice fans first fell in love with years ago – but better, freer; unbeholden and uninhibited. The new music builds upon the success of his sophomore album, Lambs & Lions, which featured the 3x Platinum, two-week chart topper “Eyes On You” – Rice’s first No. 1 as an artist and the most-streamed song of his career. Lambs & Lions followed Platinum-certified Ignite the Night, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums and No. 3 on the all-genre chart, producing a pair of Top 5 hits; Platinum-certified “Gonna Wanna Tonight” and Double Platinum “Ready Set Roll.” In addition to guesting on sold-out stadium shows with Kenny Chesney and Garth Brooks, Rice consistently sells out venues on his own headlining tours, including the recent Get Western Tour in support of his new music, and he will join Dierks Bentley’s Gravel & Gold Tour this summer.

“We got some new stuff, too, I’m gonna throw in throughout the night, because I broke down and did another record, and I’m gonna play a few of those for you tonight,” Strait shared two songs in, playing the first-of-three, “Three Drinks Behind,” from his forthcoming album while also revealing the new studio album will be titled Cowboys and Dreamers.

It was a night of connection for all the cowboys and dreamers in the crowd, too. During “Check Yes or No” a couple got engaged while surrounding fans captured the moment, sharing in their celebration. And before “How ‘Bout Them Cowgirls,” Strait remarked, “I always like seeing some cowboys in the crowd because that means cowgirls are nearby.” Pausing briefly after to share that the next song was written by his longtime manager, Erv Woolsey, a cowboy himself who recently passed, Strait shared, “I miss you, Erv.”

“We always like to do songs from our old heroes that have passed on and finally got this one down (recorded) and gonna do it now live, this is ‘Waymore’s Blues,’” he offered halfway through his 32-song set.

Stapleton joined the Texan mid stride on “Pancho and Lefty,” staying onstage for “You Don’t Know What You’re Missing,” an album cut he penned for Strait’s Love Is Everything, and revealing their first-ever collaboration, “Honky Tonk Hall of Fame,” on Strait’s forthcoming album.

Retired Lt. General Leroy Sisco introduced Retired US Army Private Issac Boshi in a poignant moment on stage presenting a new home to the hero noting it was his 113th home presentation with Strait via Military Warriors Support Foundation’s Homes 4 Wounded Heroes Program

Saturday was Strait’s first show back after devastating losses to his touring family including his longtime manager, Woolsey, Ace in the Hole member Gene Elders and tour manager, Tom Foote, Strait took the opportunity to acknowledge their absence throughout the evening. “The last couple of months have been a tough time… music makes it all better. Preeminent black metallers Mayhem ready their newest live strike with Daemonic Rites for Century Media. The 16-track effort captures the frightful efficiency and utter lethality of the Norwegians as they close the chapter on their exalted sixth album, Daemon (2019). Throughout Daemonic Rites, Mayhem impressively nail newer tracks like “Falsified and Hated,” “Malum,” “Bad Blood,” and “Voces Ab Alta” to the proverbial cross, while offering pure fucking mastery of classics like “Freezing Moon,” “Buried by Time and Dust,” “Deathcrush,” and “Carnage.” The devilish quintet also add mid-career haunts like “To Daimonion,” “Symbols of Bloodswords,” and “My Death,” making Daemonic Rites a genuine career-spanning offering.

“We wanted to document how great the band and set sounds like after almost 40 years of playing live,” says founding member Necrobutcher. “As a treat to our fans, we decided to release this live recording.”

“We released the live version of De Mysteriis [aka De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas Alive] a few years ago,” Ghul adds. “That was received very well. We have been playing together for so long now with this lineup that we feel we have reached a point where we are a seriously well-oiled machine. It seemed like a natural step to try to capture this moment in the band’s history, with the same setlist we have been using for a while.”

Mayhem have nearly 1,000 shows to their name. Since their formation Langhus, Norway in 1984, the band—now comprised of Necrobutcher (bass), Hellhammer (drums), Attila Csihar (vocals), Teloch (guitars), and Ghul (guitars)—have brought their brand of bellicose, preternatural black metal to over 60 countries. From the United States and Germany to Australia and Brazil, Mayhem have stunned, bewildered, and turned rabid a global legion, dedicated as much to the band’s infamous legacy as they are staunchly in support of Daemon. Much of that respect and devotion started in the early ‘90s, but persisted to the present day on the strength of official live albums Live in Leipzig (1993), Mediolanum Capta Est (1999), Live in Marseille 2000 (2001) and De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas Alive (2016). Mayhem continue their on-stage assault with Daemonic Rites.

“I knew from day one back in 1984 that this band was going to be outstanding—one of the best bands ever!” Necrobutcher says. “I guess that’s a big reason why we still are here after 39 years—and counting.”

“Well, for the first time in a long time, we felt again like a unit, musically,” continues Hellhammer. “That’s something we haven’t felt in a long time, and that shows in the live recording.”

Daemonic Rites wasn’t pre-planned. Rather, they had sound engineer/producer Tore Stjerna (of Necromorbus Studio fame) record everything—just for posterity, in fact—during the group’s Northern Ritual MMXXII and Thalassic Ritual tours of 2022 and early 2023. Mayhem and Stjerna pilfered the gems, resulting in gigs from London (“Life Eternal,” “Malum”), Manchester (“My Death,” “Silvester Anfang”), and Gothenburg (“Pure Fucking Armageddon,” “To Daimonion”) coming out on top. The penultimate Mayhem live album wouldn’t be complete without “Freezing Moon” and “Pagan Fears”—both from Csihar’s hometown of Budapest, Hungary—as well as newer tracks “Falsified and Hated” and “Bad Blood” from Sydney and Melbourne, respectively. Daemonic Rites showcases the two-time Norwegian Grammy (aka Spellemannprisen) winners at the pinnacle of their live potential.

“We play the songs that feel the best live,” Hellhammer says. “We have in the past tried out a lot of different songs from former eras, but when you play live for an audience, the songs must have IT. If they don’t, even if they are good songs, they won’t fit in a live setting.”

Adds Teloch: “We have a vast catalog by now with so many different types of songs. It’s interesting to make them all work together in a full concert.”

Daemonic Rites comes off the heels of Mayhem’s incredible Beyond the Gates 2022 performance, where they uncaged cult classic De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas not far from where it was originally recorded by Eirik ‘Pytten’ Hundvin (Enslaved, Emperor, Immortal) in Grieghallen during 1992/1993. The live album, however, was mixed and mastered over in neighboring Sweden. Stjerna, who also assisted with Daemon, took the phantasmagoric collection of tracks to his lair at Necromorbus Studio, where his sole job was to preserve Mayhem’s raw, unbridled energy and ghastly electricity. From “Falsified and Hated” and “My Death” to “Buried by Time and Dust” and “Carnage,” they’ve never had the quality of a live album quite like Daemonic Rites. If the past is always alive, this is a live album on par with Venom’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, Emperor’s Emperial Live Ceremony, and Gorgoroth’s Black Mass Krakow 2004.

“It fits with where we are now, or more precisely, where we were at the time of the recording,” says Hellhammer.

“[The live recordings] capture the spirit and energy,” furthers Ghul, “of where we are as a band right now.”

Indeed, Mayhem have been and continue to operate at a level not yet witnessed. While atavists will always relish the Deathcrush or Live in Leipzig lineups, Hellhammer’s drum performance against the twin terrors of Teloch and Ghul is the purest black magic on Daemonic Rites. Similarly, Csihar’s hair-raising caterwauling and spectral snarls atop Necrobutcher’s seventh-hell low end is witching-hour great! To support Daemonic Rites, Mayhem have videos for Daemon-era masterpiece “Malum” and late-‘80s Killjoy dedication “Chainsaw Gutsfuck” lined up. Daemonic Rites is the perfect guillotine while the group craft new songs and conspire with others on what the group’s 40th Anniversary next year might entail. Mayhem are likely in their final form, and they’ve never been deadlier.

NORTHBOUND Channels Classic Pop-Punk Vibes on New Single "North Star" Via Smartpunk Records

NORTHBOUND'S UPCOMING ALBUM JUNIPER  ARRIVES JULY 12 VIA SMARTPUNK RECORDS

Pre-order the album here

Ahead of the album release, Northbound have released a new single "North Star" — listen below.

Here's a challenge — try to listen to "North Star" without singing along by the end.

The latest anthemic single by Northbound encapsulates the classic pop-punk energy of his upcoming LP release. After touring worldwide with acts including Simple Plan, State Champs, and more, Jonathon Fraser (the man behind the moniker) is poised to share his most realized iteration of the project onJuniperwhich is set to release on July 12.

Speaking about the new single "North Star," Northbound says, "North Star is classic Northbound, with a newfound self awareness that has come with maturing as a writer. We had a lot of fun working on this one in the studio. Heavy influence from the Take Off Your Pants and Jacket-era by Blink 182 lends this song to have a perfect blend of bounce and emotive tone. If you've liked my previous work, this song is for you. Roll down the windows and sing along."

Speaking on the album, Northbound says, "Juniper is my fourth album under the moniker of Northbound. After a few years of laying low and flying under the radar, this album is a bold statement of return. My most focused record to date, Junipertakes heavy influence from the early 2000s era of pop punk with a clear intention: to feel nostalgia for the moment you're currently in. It's fun to listen to, yet simultaneously invites the listener to feel things. It's a record about change, pain, and joy. Juniper doesn't try to reinvent the wheel, but it does spin it in a way that hasn't happened for a while."

ABOUT NORTHBOUND:
"Some flowers never get to bloom," a sentiment that has become all too familiar to Jonathon Fraser. For better or worse, this has fueled Northbound, the emo-tinged rock outfit born out of Boca Raton, Florida. Since 2012, Northbound has established a committed following through several releases and an extensive touring history in the U.S. and overseas. Their resume includes hitting the road with the likes of Simple Plan, State Champs, and many more of the scene's most respected bands. Whether it's at a house show or the 02 Forum in London, Northbound has proven capable of encapsulating nostalgia from the turn of the millennium with none of the cliches typically involved.

Throughout Northbound's tenure, Fraser has maintained a presence in his songs that feels like an open door to his lived experiences — all bark, all bite. In early 2023, Fraser dug up his lifelong Florida roots and transplanted them to Los Angeles — with something new to prove.

Juniper sees the project rising to new heights — with the strongest material in Northbound's discography. The themes of the album are on full display — the mental weight that self-awareness can bring, the search for yourself in a world that often doesn't care, and waiting for love that still hasn't arrived. Fraser has no interest in feigning authenticity and refuses to hold back on Juniper

Northbound may be the alternative scene's best-kept secret, but those who are paying attention never stop listening. Juniper and a fresh start in Los Angeles mark the beginning of a monumental shift for the trajectory of Northbound.

ABOUT SMARTPUNK RECORDS:
Smartpunk has been a recognizable name in the scene for a long time (Remember that sponsored Warped Tour stage?!). After exchanging several hands and countless ideas of what it could and should be, they decided to start a record label in 2016 with the main idea of focusing solely on reissuing records that have been out of print or never on vinyl. After all, they're a label of vinyl dorks themselves! After releasing Set Your Goals' Mutiny and Gameface's Good, they started to venture into signing newer bands. They actively balance in between many worlds — putting out amazing music from friends and bands that rock, reissuing older titles, and partnering with other incredible labels in our scene and doing exclusive color variants of their releases.

"Since forming the record label, Smartpunk Records has released timeless albums such as Less Than Jake's Anthem, Nominee's Lowlife, RIVALS' Sad Looks Pretty on Me, Virginity's POPMORTEM, and melodic skate punkers The Swellers' My Everest.

Party Cannon Release New Album 'Injuries Are Inevitable' via Unique Leader Records

Let's get this Party (Cannon) started! The purveyors of Scotland's finest party slam have unleashed their new album out into the world, 'Injuries Are Inevitable' and the official music video for "Bonus Ambulance" (via Unique Leader Records). Leading up to today's release, the band shared "Weird, But Not Illegal" and "Not Immediately Life Threatening". Speaking about "Bonus Ambulance" and the video, Party Cannon bassist Clankenstein commented:

Blastbeats. You love them, we’ve got them. Death metal has evolved beyond the need for songs without them. This is one of the most punishing, guttural songs we’ve ever written. And by ‘punishing’, I mean punishing ourselves because this song is an absolute nightmare to play. Lots of BRODEQUIN and DISGORGE vibes on this one with an unhealthy dose of the most intelligence-void slam riffs and pitch-shifted LDOH style vocals. If you didn’t need to shower before then you will after hearing this, because it is rancid."

The video was filmed at a graveyard in Bo’ness, Scotland and features an evil cult summoning the anti-Party Slam demon played by our good friend and long time collaborate Hamish Maguire who you may know from the bands LACERATION, OMNIPOTENT HYSTERIA and INIQUITOUS SAVAGERY. We really get what’s coming to us in this video, we’ve been guilty of ruining death metal for a while now and it’s about time someone summoned a bodybuilding demon to deal with us. As with the previous videos, this was produced and directed by our guy Calum McMillan and features SFX work by Katie Cooper and Bailey from Scapegoat.

Stream 'Injuries Are Inevitable' in all of its slammingest glory at the link here, and watch the "Bonus Ambulance" music video below.

Party Cannon will bring the heat across Europe on the EU VOMITOUR 2024 kicking off in one week with Cognitive as support. For ticket information please click here.

PARTY CANNON are BACK with their HEAVIEST, SLAMMINGEST, and DUMBEST album yet; an overwhelming helping of the henchest and most nauseating Party Slam. The band have doubled down on their signature Party Slam style to bring you an experience so IQ-lowering, so soul-crushing, so life expectancy-reducing that we recommend you wear a helmet while listening for your own safety. 'Injuries Are Inevitable' takes us on a deep dive of the infamous Action Park; the world’s un-safest theme park. Through the medium of guttural vocals, rapid blast beats, and anabolic slam riffs you will be taken on an immersive 4D experience of the debauchery, partying, and downright irresponsibility this iconic park had to offer.

No admission for cowards, big dumb party riffs only.

Loverboy’s Paul Dean Touts Release of Rare 1971 Album Featuring His Band The Fox (Then Canada)

Loverboy guitarist Paul Dean is excited about the recent release of the long-lost debut album by his band The Fox (later changed to Canada-Fox), formed in 1969 in Vancouver, a full decade before Dean would co-found Loverboy with Mike Reno and Doug Johnson.

The other members of Canada-Fox consist of organist/lead vocalist/writer and arranger Clyde Harvey, bassist Brian Newcombe and writer/drummer/vocalist Billy McBeth. The previously unreleased album has been picked up by Sony Music for distribution to all streaming services.

Ten songs were originally recorded by the group in 1970 in a Toronto studio after getting picked up by RCA Canada, an event Dean only recalls by seeing pictures of them “signing something” with the label boss. The band was dropped after two singles were released, leaving the original lacquer acetates of the album with drummer McBeth, who copied it onto a CD and sent it to Paul. Dean then isolated the vocals and instruments from the original two-track stereo. “I polished those suckers for literally months, restoring them with these new software programs, much the same way the Beatles reconstructed ‘Now and Then.’ It was a great learning experience, and yeah, I’m a real tech nerd”, says Dean.

“I was blown away by these songs that I hadn’t listened to in over 50 years, and then I dove right in, looking for ways I could update them, from a technical point of view. I wanted to clean up all the little flaws, rebalance the instruments, make it loud and clean with no outside noise, so-on with my producer/mixer hat.”

Remixed and remastered, Canada-Fox offers a compendium of blues, soul, R&B, funk and psychedelia that both recalls those halcyon times, but also remains timeless and modern, sounding as if it was recorded yesterday. Highlights include a spirited mash-up of

The Beatles' “Day Tripper” and James Brown’s “Licking Stick,” which has Dean aping that classic George Harrison guitar lick, then taking it to the bridge. "That's my favorite track on the record,” says Paul. “It’s just so funky, and Clyde really nails it.”

“Coochy Coo” is a blues-rocker with a cheeky, sensuous backbeat, while “Livin’ My Life” has a country feel and a classic Paul Dean guitar solo. These, along with a gloriously funky take on Sly Stone’s “Sing a Simple Song”, were recorded in 1971 in Vancouver and Edmonton, respectively. Dean's sole writing and lead vocal credit, “Mr. Tall,” shows him vamping like his idol Jimi Hendrix, which can also be heard on the heavy instrumental,

‘The Fox'. “We‘d listen to Hendrix on our PA system, which we unpacked and set up in the basement of our band house,” says Dean. “In fact, we used to cover ‘Foxy Lady’ and ‘Voodoo Child’ in our set.”

The Fox toured extensively through the country, making a name for themselves opening for Steppenwolf in Calgary, then at the Orange County Rock Festival in Edmonton.  The band also appeared at the local Calgary date for the famed Festival Express, the train-touring music event which crossed Canada featuring Janis Joplin, The Band and Grateful Dead.

To mark the occasion, the band’s manager Lou Blair, who later went on to the same position for Loverboy, suggested the boys cut their long hair as a publicity stunt, which was duly noted in the local paper to mark their three-night stand at Calgary’s Apollo club. “They gave us these pointy sideburns, which was even more ridiculous,” laughs Paul, “Lou turned it into big news, but the downside was all the people who knew us thought we were [undercover] narcs.”

As for what’s next, Dean says, “Everyone is still alive and kicking. My manager Jonathan Wolfson suggested putting the band together and touring, and well, maybe. It was a pretty rockin’ band back in the day.”

“But for now, we want to put this album out as a service to our fans, who might find some interest in what we were doing more than 50 years ago. It’s a labor of love really, a way to say thanks for the decades of support.”

Cameron Alexander Releases New EP "Ice Blue Punk" & New Single "Fight For Fun"!

Friday, April 26th 2024 - Rising pop punk prodigy, Cameron Alexander, has today released his brand new EP "Ice Blue Punk" alongside his latest single, "Fight For Fun". Bursting with infectious anthems, the long-awaited EP release blends his punk attitude and beloved pop sensibilities. Fans can listen to the EP HERE.

With catchy melodies, soaring choruses, and the signature grit of pop punk, Cameron Alexander brings a fresh and contemporary edge to the pop punk sound, drawing inspiration from legends of the genre while infusing it with his unique style. Fans can watch the new visualizer for his latest single, "Fight For Fun" below.

Speaking on "Fight For Fun", Cameron Alexander shares:

"This is one of those songs that came to life off the vibes in the studio alone. I had the pleasure of writing this song with my friend JJ Jones, lead singer of the surf rock band Club Honey. He always brings the energy when we write, and once I laid that initial guitar riff down, it was smooth sailing for us. This is a song that romanticizes the emotional turbulence of dealing with toxic relationships, and how deep down we can't help but enjoy it."

Celebrating the release of his new EP, "Ice Blue Punk", Cameron Alexander adds:

"Growing up in an era where kids like me were more likely to pick up a laptop to make music rather than a guitar, it feels amazing to be apart of the next generation of kids packing out small venues and screaming the music that's there for us through the good times as well as the bad ones. The rock/pop-punk and live music scene has made me the musician I am as much as it's made me the person I am, and "Ice Blue Punk" reflects that wholeheartedly."

Elevated by the collaboration of decorated producers Justin Cortelyou (Taylor Swift, Alice Cooper, Hollywood Vampires) and Liam Muckala (Anthony Amorim, Tornsey, Eva Snyder), Cameron Alexander has infused his music with a blend of contemporary innovation and timeless authenticity, setting the stage for his rise as an artist to watch in the industry. As more begins to approach on the horizon, be sure to stay tuned for more Cameron Alexander news coming soon.

FOLTERKAMMER Shares Track by Track Breakdown Clip for 'Weibermacht'

To celebrate the success of their freshly released sophomore full-length, operatic black metal rising stars FOLTERKAMMER are now sharing a detailed track by track breakdown for ''Weibermacht' in a brand new clip! Frontwoman Andromeda Anarchia takes a deep dive into the album's taboo themes of domination, fetishism, and the courageous men who submit themselves to strong women, the special guest appearances, the meanings behind some of the German expressions, the folklore inspirations behind the record's themes, and so much more! The 10-minute video can be found below.

'Weibermacht' serves as a counterpart to the band's 2020 debut, 'Die Lederpredigt.' The new record is another searing blend of modern black metal and classical music elements, lending to its Avant Garde sound. The music itself is elevated by frontwoman and vocalist Andromeda Anarchia's dynamic vocal work as she juxtaposes her classical training as an opera singer with her hellfire screams, summoning a maelstrom of ethereal chaos.

The record is available HERE.

Here's what the press is saying about 'Weibermacht!'

"Part Nina Hagen, part Joan Sutherland, part Diamanda Galás, Anarchia’s four octave range really is something to behold as she hits notes with precision and perfect clarity, and conjures tortured, inhuman shrieks like an enraged banshee." - Ghost Cult Magazine (9/10)

"...Anarchia's vocal gymnastics of unhinged vocal screams, aggressive dominatrix presence in her commanding voice, and just overall progressive and vibrant vocals." - This Day in Metal (9.5/10)

"...this record will leave listeners quivering, shaking, maybe a little aroused." - Meat, Mead, Metal

"Folterkammer should be at the top of every extreme metal fanatic's list of bands to watch as they leave their grim mark on the pages of heavy metal history." - The Metal Mayan

"Folterkammer are not your typical symphonic black metal band, with Weibermacht showing a unique approach and flawless execution." - Heavy Music HQ (4/5)

"[Andromeda] is a tour-de-force, no two ways about it, a hellcat in nine-inch heels who will purr with contentment as she licks your blood from underneath her fingernails." - New Noise Magazine (3/5)

"The darkly erotic Weibermacht is the band’s second album, and it’s a breathtaking blend of jagged black metal riffage and piercing operatic vocals.” - Bandcamp Daily

ABOUT AUGUST BURNS RED:
August Burns Red is likely the only metal act ever described as "thrillingly empathetic" (Kerrang!). It's a testament to the ferocious band's ability to recognize and connect with the mixture of brokenness and hope found in their audience and within themselves. A hard-working collective with a shockingly stable lineup for the vast majority of their career, August Burns Red pour every ounce of themselves into their music. Atmospheric, riff-laden, aggressive bursts of controlled chaos, filled with shifting time signatures and tempos, deliver confessional, self-reflective, and authentic emotion.

Tour stops with Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Parkway Drive, and Bring Me the Horizon; several major international hard rock festivals (Rock Am Ring, Download, and Aftershock, to name a few); and the Vans Warped Tour are among the destinations around the world to witness ABR's live prowess. Massive headlining treks celebrating 10-year anniversaries for Constellations and Leveler demonstrated the enduring relevance of the band’s catalog, nearly 20 years into ABR's storied career. 2020's Guardians debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hard Music, Rock Albums, and Vinyl Albums charts.

Revolver, who put the band on their cover the same year, observed August Burns Red "embrace the pain so well." It's a truth never more evident than on Death Below, their stunning ninth studio album. Recorded with longtime producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland, Death Below encompasses all of the pissed-off strength of the band's past without sacrificing an ounce of catchy, melodic might. Death Below boasts guest appearances from ABR allies Jesse Leach (Killswitch Engage), Spencer Chamberlain (Underoath), Jason Richardson (All That Remains), and JT Cavey (ERRA). "It's getting difficult for the members of August Burns Red to keep one-upping themselves," marveled Billboard shortly before Guardians arrived. With Death Below, they emerge victorious again.
