MÉLANCOLIA - DELIVER FOREBODING NEW SINGLE "[INURE]" AND ANNOUNCE DEBUT ALBUM, HISSTHROUGHROTTENTEETH

Melbourne-based blackened deathcore group MÉLANCOLIA deliver the second chapter of their story with new single, “[Inure]”, releasing as the sophomore single from their debut album, HissThroughRottenTeeth, out Friday, April 21 via Greyscale Records (AUS/NZ) and Nuclear Blast Records (Rest of World). Album pre-order's live now. 

“[Inure]” invites listeners into MÉLANCOLIA’s world of unease and doom, thematically inspired by sadomasochism and how it is often used as a tactic to feel after experiencing a sense of numbness for so long. The video clip presents a sinister backdrop to accompany the sonic horror. 

The new single becomes the second offering from MÉLANCOLIA’s debut album, HissThroughRottenTeeth, which will see its release this April. Immersing listeners in a torturous tale of birth, life and death, HissThroughRottenTeeth follows a fallen deity, cast down from a godly realm and met with the punishment of reincarnating as a human with a wealth of knowledge yet stripped entirely of power.

“Essentially the album is about the pain of existence and how we get no say in coming into this world,” says vocalist and songwriter Alex Hill.

The album traverses different stages of the deity’s miserable existence, doomed to repeat a painful cycle for all of eternity. MÉLANCOLIA sink their teeth into their monstrous storyline with eerie passages, guttural deliveries, and grotesque visuals, dispensing pure dread through their music. 

After establishing themselves just last year with their leading single "Horror_Ethereal", the band announced this February their signing to both Greyscale Records for Australia and New Zealand and Nuclear Blast for the rest of the world. Mélancolia may be fresh out the gates but they're miles from the start line as the four-piece have crafted a unique sound that has already catapulted them to new heights.

Buckcherry Announce New Album "Vol. 10" + Share "Good Time" Video — WATCH

Buckcherry will release their tenth studio album entitled Vol. 10 on June 2. 

The 11-song album features 10 new Buckcherry originals and, as a bonus track, a cover of the Bryan Adams classic "Summer of 69." The album was produced by Marti Frederiksen and recorded at Sienna Studios in Nashville. The album will be released in North America by Round Hill Records, in Japan by Sony Japan, and by Earache Records for the rest of the world. The album is available for preorder at here and here.
 
Premiering today is the video for the first single "Good Time." The video, directed by Tom Flynn and Mike Watts, was shot in Los Angeles. Watch it below.

We involved Giorgio Trombino (Oud, Duduk, Saxophone), Alex Fernet (Mandolin, Acoustic Guitar) and Blak Saagan(Synthesizers) to recreate the sounds of 'CLOSE' in their true form.Our aim with MESSA’s performance was to embrace a musical wandering that could allow all of us – on and off stage – to drift away into another place. Winger Announce "Seven" Out 5/5 + Band Shares "Proud Desperado" Video

In celebration of their 35 years as a touring and recording act, multi-platinum artist WINGER announce today the release of Seven on May 5. 

The 12-track album, produced by Kip Winger and recorded in Nashville, will be distributed worldwide by Frontiers Records.  
      
Seven, the band's first new release since 2014's Better Days Comin', is now available for preorder on CD/LP/Digital here.

N∆EON TE∆RDROPS - Drops WATERS RISING March 17th

N∆EON TE∆RDROPS is a new artist alias from Norwegian techno and electronica veteran Per Martinsen, mostly known under his guise MENTAL OVERDRIVE.

Stepping out of his familiar instrumental electronic productions and into vocal-based songwriting, N∆EON TE∆RDROPS explore influences of the synthpop and darkwave of his formative years, while aiming to put these influences into a more contemporary context.

The music of N∆EON TE∆RDROPS was born out of his writing project PYRAMIDS ON THE MOON - a fictional autobiography in three parts where he explores three alternative timelines of his own life, and where each of his three imagined personalities create music under different artist aliases.

N∆EON TE∆RDROPS released the single AMNESIACS/BROTHERHOOD in 2021, reaching no 8 in the Deutsche Alternative Charts, followed by SHADOWSISTER/THE FIGUREHEAD in 2022, which reached no 12 in the same chart.

The new single WATERS RISING will be out on March 17th 2023, and takes us on a deep and melancholy melodic ride atop a slow beat suitable for the more soulful and mellow dancefloors.

A music video for WATERS RISING shot in downtown San Francisco by Stein Sørlie adds to the emotion of the song, and allows for contemplation around the challenges we face as a species in these troubled times.

A full album entitled TESTIMONY is in its final completion, and will be released on June 9th, and N∆EON TE∆RDROPS is now also open for live bookings through Standing Ovation Agency.

Brazil-based sonic adventurers BIKE have announced that they will release their new album ‘Arte Bruta’ on May 5 via Quadrado Mágico Records and Before Sunrise Records.

Ahead of that, they preview 'O Torto Santo', the intriguing lead single from this psych-rock, post-Tropicalia, noise rock collection.‘Arte Bruta’ represents the process of self-analysis the band has undergone in recent years, resulting in the most daring leap in the group's career.

BIKE's trajectory has been one of long journeys, formed in 2015 by Julito Cavalcante (guitar and vocals), Diego Xavier (guitar and voice), Daniel Fumega (drums) and João Gouvea (bass).

“The lyrics for this song were inspired by self-analysis, where I understood that everything has two sides and that we have to be aware of what happens around us, strong enough to face difficulties and take advantage of every opportunity that life gives us,” says Julito Cavalcante.

“Both ‘O Torto Santo’ and this album move forward from our sound on previous albums. We managed to mix all the coolest things we had already done with new references and older ones that have not yet appeared on other albums. We also added new elements and handcrafted instruments in the songs. The idea was to sound artistic and raw at the same time.”

Turning heads and pleasing fans since launching, BIKE is the only Brazilian band that has released music ('Enigma Do Dente Falso') in 2014) through Columbia Records imprint, 30th Century Records, founded by cult American producer Danger Mouse.

BIKE released their debut album '1943' in 2015, followed by 'Em Busca da Viagem Eterna' (2017), 'Their Shamanic Majesties' Third Request' (2018) and 'Quarto Templo' (2019). These releases have brought them critical acclaim.

To date, BIKE has played more than 400 shows in 16 Brazilian states, the venues ranging from larger stages to underground houses and festivals. They've also shared the stage with The Black Angels and Os Mutantes. The band also did three extensive international tours through France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Scotland and Wales and has performed at Primavera Sound (Spain), Nox Orae (Switzerland), MIL Lisbon (Portugal) and The Great Escape (England).

On March 1, 'O Torto Santo' will be available from fine digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where the ‘Arte Bruta’ album (out on May 5) is also available for pre-order. BIKE will be performing at this year's SXSW Festival (March 13~18) and Treefort Music Fest (March 24-26). Nordic prog rock outfit Pennies By The Pound are back with new music in the stunning 'Whispers Under The Willow Tree', a song about longing for the past and regret and the second single from their upcoming concept album 'Nothingside', to be released this spring via the Lilith label.

Hailing from Helsinki, the band worked with RIDE frontman Mark Gardener, who mastered the track at his OX4 Sound Studio in Oxford, and top national producer Rauli 'Rake' Eskolin, who boasts over a dozen No.1 records in Finland to his name.

Following up their invigorating lead track 'Burning Wish' and their recent 80s inspired synth-laden single 'The End Times', which saw the band depart from their trademark British-style progressive rock output, this new single is about love gone astray and the consequences thereof. Though they might be a bit cryptic, the whispers are also evocative of both spring and summer - which can sometimes feel really similar, at least in Finland.

"'Whispers Beneath the Willow Tree' is the middle ground on the 'Nothingside' album - a kind of a breather in between a few extremes, so to speak," says frontman Johannes Susitaival.

"If I remember correctly, this was the first complete song I wrote for this album, and it came out really quickly. To me, it feels kind of effortless, compared to a lot of the other songs on the record."

Pennies by the Pound was formed by Johannes Susitaival and Vesa Ranta in 2017, later expanding with the addition of Tomi Laaksonen and Alexander Meaney. Having written for various bands, Johannes' exploration and passion for alternative and progressive rock led to Pennies' self-produced 'Bloodshed and the Blinding Sunlight' EP in 2018, followed by their critically-acclaimed debut album 'Heat Death of the Universe' in 2020. Their 'Nothingside' LP takes them to a fantastic new realm beyond that.

As of March 10, 'Whispers Beneath The Willow Tree' will be available everywhere digitally, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp, where the first two singles can already be downloaded. The full 'Nothingside' album will be released on April 7.

Employed To Serve Drop New Track "Take Back Control" + "Conquering" Deluxe Edition Out Now

Employed To Serve have released the deluxe version of their current studio album Conquering. 

This updated version includes four new tracks: a heady mix of the new, the Remix, and the live, in addition to a fresh cover image. 

The brand new recording is "Take Back Control," a typically full-on number produced and mixed by Lewis Johns, who worked with the band on the Conquering album itself; the Remix, meanwhile, is an inventive re-working of Conquering track "Sun Up To Sun Down," featuring New Zealand metal three-piece, Alien Weaponry; while the two live tracks were recorded last year on the European Gojira tour.

Phil Firetog Trio & Co. has released their latest video, "How A Heart Breaks | Live at Vudu Studios."

The song is a moving tribute to the memories left behind after the loss of a loved one. The emotional, uptempo pop-rock track blends sorrowful subject matter with energetic musical qualities to create a powerful and reflective listening experience. Frontman Phil Firetog's emotional delivery of poignant lyrics captures the sense of anguish and disorientation that comes with loss, while instrumental breaks and rock progressions keep the memory of loved ones alive long after they are gone.

The track was written after Firetog learned of the passing of a bandmate's father, who had been a father figure to the entire band. The song is a deeply personal reflection on the overwhelming feeling of loss and the lasting impact of memories.

MIND INCISION Unleashes Official Music Video for "Aneurysm of a Narcissist"! Official Lyric Video for "Slaves to the Game" Out NOW!

Denver, CO based, metal band MIND INCISION has revealed the official music video for their newest single, "Aneurysm Of A Narcissist." Written By Jason Neil and directed by Luke Ostermiller, "Aneurysm Of A Narcissist." was produced by Loste Films with audio engineered, produced, mixed and mastered by Dave Otero.

“'Aneurysm of a Narcissist' is about the trials and tribulations of dealing with a Narcissist and the limitations of the neurological capacity therein. Basically we’ve created what we think that all people dealing with this situation dream about doing in a world that would socially accept it. The idea behind it, is to open the eyes of the narcissist themselves, but we all know that this isn't going to be received by any of them, since they bask in lust, fortified remorse, and constantly are struggling with the idea of being vulnerable to someone who has discovered their secrets, which is that they don't actually have emotional responsiveness to anything that doesn't have to do directly with their personal gain, or control of any given situation.” - Jason Neil (lead vocals)

Tanith Announce New Album "Voyage" + Share "Snow Tiger" Video

New York City's Tanith  — Russ Tippins (guitars, vocals), Cindy Maynard(bass, vocals), and Keith Robinson (drums) — have announced their new album Voyage, out April 21 via Metal Blade. Pre-order it here.

 The album was recorded and mastered on 24-track analog tape and has never been digitized from recording to pressing.

Also, fans will recognize Tippins from NWOBHM legend Satan.

"We are super stoked for everyone to hear this track, as it's one of our favorites from the album," the band shares. "We really tried to up the ante with this one. As for the video, we wanted to share a glimpse of how we made this record. It really captures the spirit of our entire time in the studio."

ABOUT TANITH:
There is perhaps no band keeping the spirit and sound of '70s hard rock and heavy metal alive more so than Tanith.

Formed in 2017, the band embraced that era wholeheartedly, resulting in 2019's aptly titled In Another Time, which instantly earned cult status and put them on the map. Now, they return with Voyage, picking up where they left off and once again demonstrating their mastery when it comes to this niche. "I wanted more of the same but different in some marginal way," explains vocalist/guitarist Russ Tippins (also of Satan). "Voyage is the sound of the universe speaking to mankind through the medium of Tanith. Or, if you like, twin-guitar heavy rock with dual singers which, if you grew up in the 1970s, will make you want to bounce over to the nearest record store. On a space hopper."

While their debut came together easily, this time around there were hurdles to overcome, first and foremost the COVID-19 lockdown, which geographically split up the band, Tippins living in the UK while vocalist/bassist Cindy Maynard and drummer Keith Robinson dwelt in Brooklyn. Once life finally returned to "normal" and they were ready to record, they were hit by another bombshell with guitarist Charlie Newton abruptly bowing out of the band the day before tracking began.

"Speaking as one part of a two-guitar band, it felt like trying to fly with one wing," says Tippins. "It happened so suddenly we were dumbstruck. I guess we sat around for a few days thinking he was sure to walk through the door at any moment. But soon enough we realized we'd have to try to find a way to make this record without Charlie and I’m not just talking about laying down his lines. It’s about the shared dream we had with him. The conviction he brought to that dream. The four-way belief now reduced to three."

Returning to Brooklyn's Excello Recording and engineer Hugh Pool — the same combination used for tracking In Another Time — the band produced the album themselves, with Pool mixing. The sessions were a fun time for Tanith, again recording to tape rather than digital and utilizing vintage amps and speakers to find the best possible sounds for the instruments. "Just having the time every day all day to be in the music was a big deal and all of our energy went into this project even after leaving the studio," says Maynard. "We were thinking and breathing the music, constantly working on parts and ideas. We came in well prepared overall, and that gave us time to try out different sounds for different parts to get just the thing we were looking for." Given that they established themselves as a twin-guitar band on their debut they also brought in an extra player, Andee Blacksugar, best known for touring with Peter Murphy and as a member of KMFDM, now also a member of Blondie, who Robinson had played with before. 

With the record fully realized, the band are eager for people to hear it, and they are confident that it is worth taking the time to listen to it — and experience it — in all its old school glory.  Tippins says, "I can think of only two other rock bands in the entire world right now that records onto 24-track analog tape. If all you've ever known is digitally produced music you really need to listen to Voyage on vinyl and experience the difference. And I'm not talking about vinyl pressed from masters recorded on Pro Tools. At no point from tracking to pressing has any of the music on Voyage been digitized. It will open your eyes."
