After 7 years, US rocker JONNY COUCH presents 4-producer album 'Where The Sidewalk Ends'

U.S. indie rocker Jonny Couch presents 'Where The Sidewalk Ends', his first album in seven years and his most ambitious work to date. Created with four acclaimed producers working across four different studios, the album expands on the melodic craftsmanship and emotional honesty that have become hallmarks of his songwriting while bringing a distinct character to each chapter of the record.

Like the 1950 film noir “Where the Sidewalk Ends”, which inspired this album, Couch channels a sense of mystery and shadowy city streets. its verses carrying a subtle detective-like atmosphere, the lyrics follow a lone figure moving through cold nights in search of connection and resolution. The cover artwork was created by renowned NYC artist Anne Muntges, who has exhibited internationally with work also featured in the book "Women Who Rock: Bessie to Beyoncé, Girl Groups to Riot Grrrl".

Between infectious rockers and ballads, Couch's music draws its origins directly from the power pop and new wave greats of the late '70s and early '80s.  Featuring jangling guitars, a propulsive rhythm section, and undeniable melodic hooks, Couch is back with renewed focus and a collection of songs rooted in timeless songwriting, strong melodies and rock-and-roll energy.

This 10-track rock n roll journey was previewed by 'Overwhelmed', which explores the frustrations of a relationship coming apart, and the title track 'Where The Sidewalk Ends', which transforms into a driving, Giorgio Moroder-influenced chorus, blending 70s-inspired disco synths with modern new wave production. The result is a cinematic hybrid—part noir, part euphoric release, the accompanying videi was written and directed by Richard Jordan. Filmed and edited by Charles Colfer, it stars Alexander Saris as "Guy" and Jonny Couch as himself.

Rather than relying on a single producer, Couch assembled four respected collaborators for the project, each overseeing specific songs while contributing their own sonic perspective to the album. Giving the album a broad sonic palette, 'Where The Sidewalk Ends' still has a cohesive power-pop identity with Jonny Couch remainingthe creative constant throughout the project.

"I didn't want every song approached the same way," says Jonny Couch. "Each producer brought a different perspective and challenged me in different ways, but the songs still sound like one album because they all came from the same place."

Jonas Wilson (The Black Angels, Heartless Bastards, Sumbuck, Urban Heat)produced Tracks 1, 2, 5 and 10 at Mr. Pink Records in Bastrop, TX and Jon Chinn(Wild Child, Lomelda, David Ramirez, Gina Chavez) produced Tracks 6 and 8 at Landline Recording in Hoboken, NJ. Peter Mavrogeorgis (The National, Boy Harsher, Grinderman, Sharon Van Etten) helmed Tracks 3 and 9, and Dan Haag(The Astrojet and The Black Swans, both fronted by Fountains of Wayne's Jody Porter) collaborated on Tracks 4 and 7.

A staple on the New York and New Jersey music scene, Couch was a NYC rock drummer before going solo in 2016. His acclaimed 'Animal Instinct' EP earned praise for its blend of soulful pop and rock sensibilities, with Louder Than War dubbing him "a Bryan Ferry pop crooner" and High Times calling his work "charming". 2019's debut 'Mystery Man' further solidified his reputation as a gifted songwriter with recognition in Bandcamp Daily's "Unsung Power Pop Gems From All Eras" feature and more.

Building a following through energetic performances and sharp songwriting, Couch has performed alongside The Fleshtones, Josie Cotton, The Nude Party, Paul Collins Beat, and The Plimsouls, and also at the Savannah Stopover Music Festival, Hoboken Arts & Music Festival, Jersey City's Lo-Fi Fest, and WFMU FM. He regularly appears on stage at NYC venues such as Sleepwalk, Bowery Palace and TV Eye, as well as Pet Shop in Jersey City, NJ.

As of July 24, 'Where The Sidewalk Ends will be available from digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. The album release show takes place that evening at Brooklyn's Sleepwalk with other live dates in New Jersey, New York and Illinois announced, along with a series of UK dates in August.

Done. Sayonara. Finito. However you want to say it, Ministry is coming to an end. But before bidding adieu, creator and music madman Al Jourgensen has a few final things to say about the state of the world, those in charge and how we should all collectively move forward.

He gets it all off his chest in Ministry’s final album Hate To Go (Take Out Or Delivery) coming October 30 on Cleopatra Records. Ministry released a first taste of the album with the single and video for single “Burned Out.”

I’m amazed at the path that it’s taken, from With Sympathy to where we’re at today, and all points in between. It’s been quite a ride, but I’m completely at peace with the fact that it’s done. It’s time to herd goats.”

Changeling Release Blindfolded Guitar Playthrough

CHANGELING, the progressive death metal band led by guitarist Tom "Fountainhead" Geldschläger (ex-Obscura), is releasing a blindfolded guitar playthrough of "World? What World?". Shot in studio and taken from the band’s debut album, Changeling, the playthrough turns the song into a single uninterrupted performance, with Fountainhead navigating its shifting time signatures and tremolo-picked runs entirely by feel.

Watch the blindfolded guitar playthrough of “World? What World?” Below:

Changeling is out now on Season of Mist

Order & Stream

https://orcd.co/changelingchangeling

"World? What World?" is one of the most punishing songs on Changeling. Built on 260 bpm blast beats and a brass arrangement scored for an ensemble of Wagnerian tubas, it stages a confrontation with fear and the unconscious mind, Losing the visual reference point of the fretboard turns the new guitar playthrough into a demonstration of muscle memory as much as musicianship, a fitting angle for a song built around the collapse of perceptual certainty.

Changeling moves through four distinct chapters. The album opens in tech-death vocabulary, rooted in Fountainhead's work on Obscura's album Akroasis. It closes with "Anathema", the 16-minute successor to his own "Weltseele."

It has a psychedelic, beachy, deserty, 70’s, Eagles meets Fleetwood Mac meets me kinda vibe to it. It’s one of my favorites from The Mountain Goat and I’m confident it will be one of yours too.”

Munsick’s current single, “Love Is Blind,” is currently top 50 and climbing at Country radio. The official music video starring Ryan Charles and Rocky Mountain Fever bandmates Peter Wilson (drummer), Tristan Smith (guitar player) and Jonathan Warren (fiddle player) is available now. Watch HERE

Sorry X Release Debut Album 'EXES' via SBG Records!

Alternative heavy artist Sorry X released her highly anticipated debut album, EXES, via SBG Records. The record marks a defining moment in the artist's evolution, capturing both personal transformation and creative discovery.

Written during a period of intense heartbreak and self-reflection, EXES chronicles the emotional aftermath of lost relationships while showcasing the sound that would ultimately define Sorry X's place within the heavy music landscape. Blending raw vulnerability with crushing intensity, the album serves as both a deeply personal statement and a bold artistic arrival.

“This album was critical in helping me find my sound,” says Alexa Graves of Sorry X. “It was written through intense heartbreak and the growth that followed, but it was also the record that helped me find my place within heavy music. It’s a Sorry X origin story.”

In support of the release, Sorry X has joined The Art of Love & Power Tour alongside Of Virtue and Savage Hands. The tour will introduce audiences across the country to the artist's energetic live performance and emotionally charged songs.

Produced by Billboard-charting producer Hiram Hernandez and Shea Moore, with co-writing from Tobin Esperance (of Papa Roach), "EXES represents the culmination of Alexa's artistic growth and the clearest statement yet of where Sorry X is headed. Throughout the album, themes of loss, resilience, identity, and self-discovery are woven into a powerful collection of songs that balance vulnerability with strength.

With EXES, Sorry X delivers her most authentic and fully realized work to date, a record born from heartbreak but ultimately defined by empowerment, evolution, and finding one's voice.

The HU Release Triumphant New Album "HUN" + Share "Horesemen" Video

Fresh from sharing the stage with Iron Maiden in the the UK and standing at the cusp of what is promising to be their boldest creative chapter yet, Hunnu Rock pioneers THE HU — Galaa (morin khuur, throat singing); Jaya (tumur khuur, tsuur, throat singing); Enkush (morin khuur, throat singing); and Temka(tovshuur, throat singing) — are pleased to unveil their third full-length album, HUN, out now via BETTER NOISE MUSIC. Get HUN here. While the digital and physical album is out now, the vinyl version and box set (details further below) will see release on September 11.

HUN — which translates to "human" in their native language — holds special meaning for the band. Originally called Between the Heaven and Earth, the album was intended to be understood as something natural and true, akin to human life on Earth, which is why they chose HUN to best represent it.

"In our third album, we tested many boundaries and used different techniques to perfect the combination of traditional instruments with heavy metal music genres," says Jaya. "The concept of the HUN album comes from universal experiences we all go through collectively as humans in this world. Our hope is to remind our listeners the importance of introspection through variety of songs from slow to fast rhythmic songs."

Alongside the album release, the band has shared the video for "HORSEMEN." Watch it below.

"'Horsemen' is inspired by the legendary Mongolian warriors who once rode across much of the known world," the band says. "These warriors were known for their discipline, intelligence, courage, and incredible skill. They were called the 'Army of the Heavens' because of their unmatched mobility and strength. This song celebrates their spirit and honors the qualities that made them legendary. It's a reminder that true power comes from discipline, wisdom, and unity."

The HU's previously released the single "Lost Soul" (Feat. Jonny Hawkins of NOTHING MORE). It marks the first collaboration between the Gold-certified global phenomenon and NOTHING MORE. Listen to "Lost Soul" (Feat. Jonny Hawkins of NOTHING MORE) here and watch the video here. The track is currently No. 17 on the active rock charts.

HUN finds The HU, who were first tipped by NPR back in 2019, at the peak of their powers thus far. They expand the scope of their signature Hunnu Rock with 11 tracks steeped in the lore and legend of Mongolia, yet uplifted with universal ambition. It's as epic, enthralling, and enigmatic and it opens the gateway into their world.

"We took our time to do this right, and we're so glad that we're almost ready to release what we have worked on these past few years," the band says. "Now, we are also focusing on the performances and working out a brand-new setlist. We want to play bigger venues so we can do extensive production, and bring in some amazing elements of our culture, and play these ideas to our fans. And, as well as our third album, we have some amazing ideas for another album already!"

The HU just wrapped a successful headline tour of North America, but they are not done. The band will return to the U.S. in August, supporting Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson before heading to Europe in September.

Wailin Storms Release Haunting New Video for “Its All Dark Now Where Your Eyes Used To Be”

Wailin Storms are catching fire with noisy and bluesy explosions of Southern Gothic Rock. Like moths to a flame, critics are mesmerized by the Durham, North Carolina band’s new album, The Arsonist.

As the band prepare to burn rubber on their upcoming U.S. East Coast Tour for The Arsonist, today, Wailin Storms are releasing a new video for the album’s chilling closer. Filmed in one take and recorded live with no editing inside an old church, the gothic ballad “It’s All Dark Now Where Your Eyes Used To Be” will haunt you to the grave.

”’It’s All Dark Now Where Your Eyes Used To Be” is about coming to terms with the realization that death comes for us all”, Wailin Storms vocalist and guitarist Justin Storms says. “I started writing this song when I was in Belgium, after I saw an old church that looked like a skull. It’s the last song on The Arsonist and is very spare and sad, but there’s also a sliver of hope. Life is temporary and that’s where its beauty lies”.

Bay Area Thrashers FORBIDDEN Announce Self-Titled Album Set for Release on October 23rd via BLKIIBLK

Today, thrash metal pioneers FORBIDDEN are proud to announce their new self-titled album, set for release on October 23rd via BLKIIBLK, marking the band's first full-length release since 2010. To celebrate the announcement and offer fans a taste of what to expect, FORBIDDEN unleashes their new single, "Psyclops," alongside an official video.

About the new single, guitarist Craig Locicero shares:

"'Psyclops' was the final song completed for our newest self-titled offering. It was part of the last batch of music completed with Jeremy Von Epp & myself on the home stretch of our writing sessions & it came together quickly. The song itself is a hypnotizing stomper. Heavy footed like millions of people marching against how things stand in the status quo. Norman’s lyrics for 'Psyclops' should be left to the interpretation of the listeners. The chorus paints a vivid picture…'Forsaken, fast asleep and trapped inside a maze, Complacent eyes securely locked in an obscure gaze.'”

Watch the Official Video for "Psyclops" Below:

FORBIDDEN’s legacy is one of being the youngest, hungriest and most ambitious of the Bay Area brethren that has launched metal paradigm-shifters from Metallica to Machine Head. With a reconstituted lineup, guitarist Craig Locicero and bassist Matt Camacho, have crafted an hour-plus masterpiece of thrashy predilection, emotive musical movements, and prog-scraping sonic ambitions. From the intensity of opening track, “Single Point Failure” to the philosophical shades of the 9-minute closer, “Flower of Life,” this is FORBIDDEN not merely stretching beyond the steely foundations of 1988’s classic ‘Forbidden Evil’ or the quantum leap of 1990’s ‘Twisted Into Form,’ but the sound of a band with a new sense of scope and purpose. Produced by Locicero, Kontos & Zach Ohren (Machine Head), ‘Forbidden’ isn’t merely a revival for quintet, but full-blown reinvigoration and purgative endpoint for this Bay Area metal institution.

Locicero comments on the album:

"Making 'Forbidden' felt more like an odyssey than a typical recording process. We set out to create a record that reminds people why they fell in love with thrash and heavy metal in the first place, embracing raw energy, melody, and the imperfections that give heavy music its character. Every member brought their best, and having Brann Dailor (Mastodon) join us on'Sycophantasy' was an incredible addition. 'Forbidden' is five lifetimes of experience forged into one piece of metallic art."

Pre-Order 'Forbidden' HERE

FORBIDDEN is excited to be hitting the road in support of their upcoming self-titled album on a run of headlining tour dates supported by Heathen and Void.

Hollywood Vampires Drop Live "Ace of Spades" Video

Hollywood Vampires, the rock supergroup featuring Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, Joe Perry, and Tommy Henriksen, are releasing "Ace Of Spades" as the second single from their upcoming live album At Montreux Jazz Festival. Recorded during the band's 2018 appearance at the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival, the track is a powerful tribute to one of rock's most beloved icons — Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead.

Accompanied by a live video filmed in Montreux, the performance captures the raw energy and chemistry that have made Hollywood Vampires a standout live act.

"Lemmy was one of a kind," the band says. "'Ace Of Spades' remains one of the defining songs in rock history, and this performance honors his legacy."

A highlight of the upcoming album, “Ace Of Spades” reflects the band's long-standing mission of celebrating the artists who shaped rock music. Few songs embody the rebellious spirit of rock 'n' roll quite like Motörhead's signature anthem, making it a fitting addition to a set that bridges the Vampires' own material with tributes to their musical heroes.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania atmospheric metalcore quintet 156/Silence have released their latest offering, "Swept From Under (Call of the Void)" and the official music video. The track is taken from the band's upcoming new full-length, 'From A Distance', out on September 4 via Pure Noise Records. Elaborating on the inspiration behind the track, the band shared:

"The call of the void is the voice in our heads that wants to self-destruct even when we don’t feel bad. A compulsion to hurt ourselves even if we don’t want to. Being swept from under by intrusive thoughts."

The Barbarians of California Are "Really Really Rad" — WATCH // New Album "MEGATONS" Out 8/21

The Barbarians Of California, featuring Aaron Bruno of AWOLNATION and Eric Stenman of Tinfed and a noted producer, remain equal opportunity iconoclasts with each new song and video they drop. Described as "so f**king good" by VICE, they prove that they are, in fact, "REALLY REALLY RAD." And they do so with the video for their latest track, titled "REALLY REALLY RAD."

Watch it below.

Here, we find the fearless Barbarians rollerblading while frolicking the ocean; while doing one-armed "push ups"; and while playing guitar by the beach. Don't try this at home folks; instead, let the Barbarians do it for you. Musically, they remain riff lords, doling out dissonance by the tonnage, with some disco fun closing out the track.

"'REALLY REALLY RAD' was really fun to make. ' REALLY REALLY RAD' has really fun dynamics. 'REALLY REALLY RAD' is really good," says Bruno. (We think he meant it is "REALLY REALLY RAD," actually.)

The song lives on the band's really, really rad second album MEGATONS, which arrives in just four weeks on August 21. Pre-order and pre-save it here.

With MEGATONS, The Barbarians of California are unleashing fresh chaos straight from the sun-soaked, teeth-gnashing heart of the Golden State. Blending raw hardcore energy, riffs by the pound, and that signature mix of ferocity and tongue-in-cheek humor, these new songs hit like a caffeine-fueled fever dream. Through and through, the band delivers unapologetic anthems that feel both brutally fun yet dangerously addictive.

"Everyone has heard of the sophomore slump," states Stenman. "Making a second album can be a fraught process full of overthinking and self-doubt. Perhaps, the benefit of us starting this band, at this later point in our lives, relieves some of that pressure. This felt so easy, and is a seamless continuation of whatever we started with the first batch of song — just bigger and better."

The Barbarians aren't slowing down — they're just getting louder, meaner, and more ridiculously entertaining.

TBOC have also confirmed their first set of headline tour dates, alongside shows with Guns N' Roses and festival apperances.

Hatebreed Announce New Album "Fatal Paradox" Out 11/6 + Share Video for "Kill Count Increase"

Studied, imitated, but never replicated, the Grammy-nominated hardcore legends HATEBREED have remained a fixture of the hardcore and metal scenes for the better part of three decades. After writing the playbook with their genre-defining releases Under The Knife (1996) and Satisfaction Is The Death Of Desire (1997), HATEBREED continued to carry the banner for metallic hardcore with albums likePerseverance (2002), The Rise of Brutality (2003), and Supremacy (2006) dominating charts globally. In recent years, the band's undisputed offensive continues with modern records The Concrete Confessional (2016) and Weight of the False Self (2020), remaining fixtures on charts globally. The band's core values of self actualization, perseverance, and honest living have carried them from backyard and basement shows to festival dominators, selling out shows consistently across the world, effectively practicing what they've preached.

Today, the band announces its long-awaited studio return with FATAL PARADOX, arriving November 6 via new label BLKIIBLK. Pre-order it here.

Hatebreed also offer the first taste of new music with the video for "KILL COUNT INCREASE." Watch it Below:

Enlisting long-time collaborator Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Accept, Shadows Fall), "Kill Count Increase" is crossover excellence with accelerating speeds, crushing riffage, and frontman Jamey Jasta's venomous bark inciting crimson flashes of carnage.

"'Kill Count Increase' is the lead track on Fatal Paradox and a perfect way of summing up our first album in six years from the start," Jasta states. "It's straightforward, in-your-face Hatebreed. Fast. Hard. It gets down to business and comes up for air two-and-a-half minutes later. The room and everyone in it gets wrecked and comes back wanting more."

Holding no punches, and taking no prisoners Fatal Paradox see the Connecticut-born juggernaut operating at full tilt, bludgeoning listeners with a barbarous blend of breakdowns, d-beats, and dogpiles. Whether it’s the thrash stylings of "Kill Count Increase" or "Total Invincible," capital H hardcore excellence of "The Carrion Choir" and "Truth Is A Lion," rage remains the unifying spark to blow the keg in glorious flashes of violence.

Hatebreed will spend the summer doing what they do best — touring and bringing venues across the U.S. to their knees. All upcoming dates are below. Get tickets here.

Misery Index Release Ferocious New Single "Feral Future"

After 25 years, Misery Index continue to stand tall at the forefront of extreme music. The band, which features current and former members of Dying Fetus and Pig Destroyer, started 2026 off strong by re-signing to Season of Mist. Now, as they prepare to embark on a headline tour of Europe and the United Kingdom, the firebrands are unleashing their first new single in four years. While still the product of their high-intensity combination of death metal and grindcore, “Feral Future” answers the call of the wild.

“‘Feral Future’ is about changing the way we think about our relationship with nature”, Misery Index bassist and vocalist Jason Netherton says. “Nature isn’t something we rule over or exist outside of. It’s something we are immersed in everywhere all the time. This song champions the rewilding of damaged and corrupted human spaces and reclaims a more feral connection that respects the sublime wonder of nature”.

Watch the lyric video for “Feral Future” below.

On “Feral Future”, Misery Index keep their social commentary razor-sharp. The band’s new single was one of the very first songs written for their upcoming eighth full-length and its untamed energy helped shape the album’s thematic core. Adam Jarvis pounds his drums until they’re one with the dirt while Mark Kloeppel and Darin Morris sharpen their axes into a filthy headbanging groove.

“This is our future”, Netherton growls during its final blood-pumping sprint. “Feral Future” might be a grim warning for the fate of our planet, but for Misery Index, it’s a sign of more greatness to come.

The lyric video for “Feral Future” was created by Cloud Motion Design.

Misery Index previously released Live in Munich (2013), The Killing Gods (2014) and Rituals of Power (2019) with Season of Mist. The Killing Gods and Rituals of Power are available now through the label’s web shop.

“Misery Index is a band for the hellish news cycle we are all trapped in”, Invisible Oranges wrote in a review of Complete Control.

The band released their first new single in four years, “Feral Future”, ahead of their An Epitaph for Endtimes European and United Kingdom summer tour.

MARILYN MANSON REVEALS NEW VIDEO FOR ‘FRONT TOWARD ENEMY’

Following last week's single release, MARILYN MANSON has unveiled the official music video for ‘Front Toward Enemy,’ directed by Henri Alexander Levy. The track is the latest offering from his forthcoming album, One Assassination Under God – Chapter 2, due August 14th via Nuclear Blast Records.

Building on the release of the album's lead single, "Exit Wound," "Front Toward Enemy" continues the dark, cinematic vision of One Assassination Under God – Chapter 2, the highly anticipated second installment in MANSON's latest sinister sonic odyssey, co-written and co-produced with Tyler Bates.

One Assassination Under God - Chapter 2 will arrive days before the start of his late summer co-headline tour with ROB ZOMBIE. Visit MarilynManson.com for a complete list of MANSON’s 2026 worldwide tour dates.

Trivium Kick Off New Era + Announce Fall 2026 Headline Tour

GRAMMY-nominated heavyweights TRIVIUM — vocalist/guitarist MATTHEW K. HEAFY; guitarist COREY BEAULIEU; bassist PAOLO GREGOLETTO; and drummer ALEX RÜDINGER — are thrilled to announce their Fall 2026 headline tour plans.

The tour marks the somewhat unofficial start of Trivium's next era, with new music on the way soon. The band plans to debut new material on stage as well.

The band will hit the road on November 5 in St. Petersburg, Florida and run through December 19 in Charlotte, North Carolina for a North American headline run with In Flames, Orbit Culture, Fit for an Autopsy, and Frozen Soul in tow. It is a truly stacked lineup that cannot and should not be missed.

Pre-sale options launch today, Tuesday, July 21 at 10am local time. General tickets go on sale on Friday, July 24 at 10am local time. Get tickets here

"This fall's Trivium tour is a huge one for us," the band declares. "The lineup is stacked from top to bottom, and we're honored to have special guests In Flames, who not only influenced our early years but continue to prove time and again why they're one of the greatest metal bands of all time. With Orbit Culture, Fit For An Autopsy, and Frozen Soul rounding out the bill, we can't wait to get out there, kick off this next era of Trivium with Rudi behind the kit, and give you a taste of the new music we've been working on. We'll see you soon!"
