Stitched Up Heart Release New Single "Cannibal" feat. Heidi Shepherd via Judge & Jury Records

Los Angeles rock band Stitched Up Heart have unleashed their new single “Cannibal,”featuring Heidi Shepherd of Butcher Babies, out now via Judge & Jury Records. The track is a powerful collaboration between two incredible women in modern heavy music. Alecia 'Mixi' Demner and Heidi Shepherd deliver a fierce vocal performance that celebrates strength, attitude, and the unapologetic presence of women in the rock and metal scene. The single arrives alongside a brand new music video, capturing the electrifying chemistry between Mixi and Heidi as the two powerhouse vocalists.

“‘CANNIBAL’ is a song for the man-eaters; to all of the baddies stealing hearts and eating them for breakfast,” says Mixi.

She continues, “I was at Butcher Babies very first show. Crammed on the stairs at a dive bar on the sunset strip. Heidi hurled this wrecked Barbie into the crowd. Hair hacked off, totally mangled. I caught it. Looking back at that moment it felt like she’d passed me a torch. 'Hey girl, let’s conquer this industry together.' Years later, we’re still at it cheering each other on from the sidelines. Collaborating on this song together is such a fulfilling moment.”

Shepherd adds, "I've been a big fan of Mixi and Stitched Up Heart for nearly 2 decades. We've clawed our way through this industry together, and had each other's back when no one else did. After all of these years, it's so fitting that 'Cannibal' is the song that we finally get to SCREAM together! This song is so fun, and has quickly become one of my favorite collabs that I've been a part of. You can tell by the video that we had an absolute blast making it. In 2025, the band inked a deal with Judge and Jury Records and their fourth full-length album Medusa will be available on June 12. The band is currently on tour with Sebastian Bach and will be out supporting Infected Rain this summer.

Beyond the stage, Mixi continues to use her platform to advocate for more women in rock and metal while actively volunteering with multiple animal rescue organizations throughout Southern California.

MORTIIS Announces New Full-Length, 'Ghosts of Europa,' Unveils Music Video for Title Track

Iconic Norwegian artist MORTIIS is pleased to reveal that he will be releasing his latest studio album, 'Ghosts of Europa,' on June 26, 2026 via Prophecy Productions, making it his debut to the label! In celebration, MORTIIS is now unveiling the title track along with a thought-provoking music video. The clip was written and directed by Claudio Marino and can be found below.

MORTIIS comments, "This song has tried many shapes and forms, until it finally sort of found itself. I never thought that it would end up this way. Strange, mysterious, and choral. It started out as a simple thing, a different song, with a different title, which got slowly de-constructed and altered. This did not happen due to dissatisfaction with the original, but because layers of new ideas appeared. As excited as I am about this new 'entity' and the way it shaped up, the title, that has already been in existence for years, feels slightly, and sadly, prophetic – although that was never my intention."

During most of his career MORTIIS has performed with a mask and face prosthetic that turned his stage persona into an otherworldly being. Over the year, his looks have changed and evolved. For a time during 'Era 0', his live concept even abandoned the wearing of the iconic mask. MORTIIS' stage entity has often been compared with a troll – a creature of Nordic folklore, which it was never intended to be according to the artist.

The Mendenhall Experiment Announce Tour Dates in Support of Josey Scott!

Southern California rock band The Mendenhall Experiment are gearing up for a powerful run of live shows as they join Josey Scott on the highly anticipated “Every Six Seconds 25th Anniversary Tour.”

For this run, the band will be joined by Tuomas Vuorio, who will step in as touring drummer while their current drummer, Cameron, takes personal time. Known for his work with 96 Bitter Beings (96BB), Vuorio brings a seasoned presence and dynamic energy behind the kit, adding an exciting element to the band’s live performances.

Tuomas Vuorio is a Finnish drummer known for his powerful stage presence, precision, and versatility across rock and rhythm-driven music. Based in Turku, Finland, he has built a reputation as a disciplined and dynamic performer capable of delivering high-energy live performances as well as controlled, expressive studio work.

Vuorio is an official member of the American rock band 96 Bitter Beings, led by Deron Miller, formerly of CKY. As part of the band, he performs internationally and contributes to both live and recording projects, providing the rhythmic backbone that supports the group’s aggressive and melodic sound.

In addition to his work in rock music, Vuorio has a strong background in Brazilian percussion and samba. He has served as Diretora de Bateria (musical director of percussion) in Finnish carnival samba, leading large percussion ensembles responsible for the driving rhythmic core of samba performances. Under his leadership and participation, his samba group achieved the Finnish Championship title in carnival samba twice, highlighting his ability to manage complex rhythm sections and large-scale live performances.

Before joining 96 Bitter Beings, Vuorio was active in the Finnish rock and metal scenes, performing in numerous live productions and recording projects. His drumming is recognized for its powerful groove, technical control, and endurance on demanding tour schedules.

Vuorio is endorsed by Pearl Drums, Roland electronics, SE Electronics microphones, Balbex drumsticks, and Sihi cymbals. His playing style blends precision, stamina, and musical intensity, making him a compelling force both on stage and in the studio.

Formed in 2008 and based in Southern California, The Mendenhall Experiment (TMX)was born as Brandon Mendenhall’s own personal aspiration to be in a world-famous band while working within the limitations of Cerebral Palsy, knowing full well that the cards were stacked against finding musicians willing to work with him. Born with Cerebral Palsy, an incurable neurological disorder affecting movement, coordination and, balance; Brandon faces numerous challenges. With limited movement on his left side and zero mobility in his left hand, the odds were stacked against him from birth. However, inspired by acts such as Korn and Pantera, Brandon taught himself how to play guitar at the age of 19, rehabilitating his left hand without surgical intervention.

The Mendenhall Experiment has been regularly performing on the infamous Sunset Strip in addition to gigs throughout the region opening for the likes of such metal mainstays as John 5, POD, Alien Ant Farm, Kill Devil Hill, Fear Factory, Prong, Flaw, Metal Allegiance, Smile Empty Soul, Cold, and more. Defeated Sanity Release Pounding New Drum Playthrough for “Heredity Violated”

After crushing crowds with Sanguisugabogg, Despised Icon and Corpse Pile, next month, Defeated Sanity are hitting the road on their first U.S. headlining tour in support of their latest Billboard-demolishing album Chronicles of Lunacy. During this run across both U.S. coasts, the innovators of brutal death metal will perform Chronicles of Lunacy in its entirety, along with other fan favorites from their discography. Joining them on all 27 dates are Inferi and Organectomy.

As they gear up for the start of their U.S. tour next month, today, Defeated Sanity are releasing a new drum playthrough. While the song brings Chronicles of Lunacy to a horrifying end, “Heredity Violated” further cements their place on the throne as the most technically advanced band in brutal death metal.

The drum playthrough for “Heredity Violated” was created by Obscenery Films.

While it still hits from every odd angle, Chronicles of Lunacy does draw a jagged red line back to Defeated Sanity's brutal origins. After all, the band now share a label with their namesake. In true, DS fashion, the first song written for this album was "Heredity Violated", a headbanging grand finale that never stops chugging. "This album isn't as tough on the brain as the last two", says new guitarist Vaughn Stoffey, whose chunky riffs whip "Accelerating the Rot" into the fastest song in the band's canon. "It's rawer and more straightforward, which gets back to what fans love about Psalms of the Moribund".

To dig up the sheer brutality that long-time fans have come to crave, Defeated Sanity returned to Thousand Cave Studios. New York City's most vile underground hotspot also served as the excavation site for the Billboard-charting The Sanguinary Impetus, which shoveled a fresh layer of dirt over the "polished" production of Passages into Deformity. But the band encouraged producer Colin Marston to get down and dirty with Chronicles of Lunacy. "We still wanted some of the high fidelity that you hear on modern death metal records", Schmidt says, "but this album has the same crushing low-end as Psalms or Chapters of Repugnance".

The band execute this two-headed approach to monstrous effect on "Condemned to Vascular Famine". At just under six minutes, the song delivers the longest ass beating on Chronicles of Lunacy. At times, all four members sound like they're climbing up the walls in separate asylums, but after slipping in a brief nod to Bram Stoker's Dracula, the band come slamming down into the album's ugliest breakdown.

"That's one of our favorites", the band says. "It lands at a crossroad of the DS sound that we ended up with on Chronicles of Lunacy. Even though it gets pretty fucking weird at times, there's still an emphasis on heavy, straight-up slamming"

None of their albums are ever going to follow a straight line, but on Chronicles of Lunacy, Defeated Sanity return to sheer brutality.

EXODUS on "Promise You This":
"Promise You This" is one of our favorite songs on the new record, it’s just heavy as fuck but rocks just as hard. The song was inspired by some of the life lessons learned from my father and how long it took me to really listen."

Goliath wastes no time proving as massive as its name, with a sinister introduction opening "3111." Ode to owning one’s own volatility "Hostis Humani Generis" features a palpable lyrical delivery from Rob Dukes that cuts like crystal amid frenetic riffs, before rolling into "The Changing Me." The track’s introductory notes cascade into hair-raising rhythms, forming one of the band’s most anthemic offerings – blending menace and melody with the cleans of guest Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy, Pain) together with Tom Hunting and at the end both Peter and Robb scream off the song. Harmonic dual axe acrobatics from resident guitar legends Gary Holt and Lee Altus. "Promise You This" incites mosh pit treachery with explosive energy, cyclonic riffs and turbocharged soloing from Holt and Altus. Tracks like "Beyond The Event Horizon" and "2 Minutes Hate" provide EXODUS' trademark deadly dose of thrash theatricality – the latter boasting one of the album’s most grimacing, grooving pit primers – while undeniably 90s-tinged metallic charm attacks alongside drummer Tom Hunting and bassist Jack Gibson’s unmistakable rhythmic rage on tracks like "Violence Works." Infected Rain Release Video For New Single "Stranger"

Moldovan modern metal force Infected Rain have released the official music video for their brand new single "Stranger." The track offers the first glimpse into the band's upcoming musical chapter and marks the beginning of a new creative phase for the group as it continues to evolve its sound.

Built around themes of identity, transformation, and inner conflict, "Stranger" dives deep into the moment of realizing you no longer fully recognize the person you have become, pairing introspective lyrics with driving rhythms and the band’s sharp, modern metal edge.

Vocalist Lena Scissorhands explains the inspiration behind the song: "'Stranger' came from the moment when you realize you don't fully recognize yourself anymore. It's an inward fight with identity, with the roles you've worn for too long, and the distance that grows between who you are and who you think you should be. In the end, it's about becoming strangers to ourselves, and trying to find the way back."

The release arrives just days before the band hits the road for the "Mutation Phase" tour across Europe and the UK, co-headlining alongside Butcher Babies. Black Veil Brides Announce Seventh Studio Album "VINDICATE"

With anticipation building at every turn, Black Veil Brides have announced their highly anticipated seventh studio album, VINDICATE. The record will be released worldwide on May 8 via Spinefarm.

From the opening organ introduction and dramatic soliloquy of "Invocation To The Muse" to the emotive finale of "Eschaton," the band — vocalist Andy Biersack, guitarists Jake Pitts and Jinxx, bassist Lonny Eagleton, and drummer Christian Coma — delivers one of the most ambitious chapters of their career. Previously released singles including "Bleeders," "Hallelujah," and "Certainty" have already showcased the band's continued musical evolution while maintaining the theatrical intensity that has defined their sound.

They can fuel growth, drive ambition, and help us rise above what’s tried to break us, but they can also become destructive if we let them consume us," explains Andy Biersack.

Each song explores a different side of that struggle. Sometimes it’s about getting even with someone else, sometimes it’s about confronting ourselves and our past, our pain, or the things that were done to us. At its core, though, this album is about resilience.

"It's for anyone who's ever had their dreams doubted or their fire challenged by people who couldn’t see their vision. We're all born with that spark. The world will try to take that away at times, but this record is about holding onto it, fighting back, and turning those struggles into something powerful."

The latest preview from the album arrives with the release of the title track, "Vindicate." Featuring a haunting calliope introduction that erupts into a driving wall of guitars and Biersack's signature scream, the song captures the dramatic scale and power fans have come to expect from Black Veil Brides. In support of the new album, Black Veil Brides will embark on their first North American headline tour of 2026. The 24-city run kicks off April 25 in Riverside and concludes May 30 in Worcester. Long out-of-print, this EP captures the band at a pivotal crossroads in their career between the melodic darkness of 1997’s A Dead Poem and the atmospheric depth of 1999’s Sleep of the Angels.

Now reissued by the band’s longtime label home Season of Mist, the new vinyl edition of Der Perfekte Traum preserves an overlooked chapter of Rotting Christ’s legacy.

Alt-rockers Noir Addiction dish up mischief and mayhem on "Serve Me Some Crime" single

Alternative-industrial rockers Noir Addiction present their new single "Serve Me Some Crime", a sarcastic manifesto about embracing chaos and contradiction, where rule-breaking, humor and non-conformity become tools of personal freedom. Presented with a smashing new video directed & edited by ‪Jack Lucas Laugeni, it celebrates choosing instinct and madness over routine, control, and the suffocating seriousness of everyday life. This is the first taste of the album "Pretty Things Don’t Last", forthcoming via Berlin-based Soulpunx label.

Emerging with a raw, industrial-tinged soul, Noir Addiction is a powerhouse trio that harnesses a dark, heavy aesthetic against a backdrop of classic rock ’n’ roll grit. Founded by Sonny Lanegan, who handles vocals, guitars, synthesizers, and programming, the band is rounded out by drummer Roberto Catanzaro and Nessie Zorba on keyboards and percussion. A seasoned musician and producer, Lanegan’s creative vision was shaped by cutting his teeth in Los Angeles's high-octane music scene, where he honed his experimental style as singer-songwriter for White Pulp and co-founder of The Dead Good.

“Serve Me Some Crime” started from a really simple feeling: sometimes life gets too serious. Too structured. Too polite. The word “crime” in the song isn’t literal it’s more about breaking small, invisible rules. It’s about those moments when you don’t want to behave exactly how you’re expected to. A regular Sunday can feel predictable, almost scripted, and the song plays with the idea of shaking that up adding a bit of danger, irony, or mischief to something ordinary,” says Sonny Lanegan.

“At its core, the song is about freedom not the peaceful, inspirational kind, but the messy kind. The kind where you allow yourself to be contradictory, to not have it all figured out, to embrace a bit of chaos instead of pretending you’re always in control. It’s me saying: if life insists on being absurd, I might as well play along.”

Based in Italy, Noir Addiction has electrifying their way onto the music scene through their clever mix of glamorously haunting atmosphere, sense of decadence, rebellion and obsession, Noir Addiction bring a high-voltage fusion of dark rock, grunge attitude and shock-rock energy. By fusing heavy, distorted guitars and electronic textures with theatrics and raw emotion, they offer an immersive experience that is meant to be felt just as much as it is heard.

“There’s a lot of contradiction in the lyrics on purpose. Lines like “I don’t need forgiveness right now” or “I wear the joke to fight” reflect that push and pull between being sincere and hiding behind humor. I think many of us do that… we joke when things get uncomfortable, we act cool instead of saying what we really feel. The song lives in that space. Writing it felt like letting myself misbehave creatively. I didn’t overthink it, I followed the impulses that felt a little reckless. The lyrics came out in bursts, almost like I was arguing with myself. There’s tension in the song because that’s how I felt: torn between wanting to stay composed and wanting to blow everything up,” says Sonny Lanegan.

“When we recorded it, I wanted that tension to stay alive. We didn’t polish away the edges. The vocals needed attitude something slightly provocative, almost teasing. I wanted the track to feel cool but restless at the same time, like there’s something simmering underneath. We played with that contrast between restraint and release, keeping it tight in some moments and then letting it loosen just enough to feel unpredictable. That balance is really what gives the song its character”.

Sonny Lanegan brings years of behind-the-scenes studio and production experience to Noir Addiction. Many of his songs have also been licensed to and featured in American TV shows, cementing his presence in mainstream media and propelling him into notable collaborations with artists and producers, which has sharpened his sound and pushed his creative vision to new heights.

Lanegan eventually reconnected with his old friend Nessie Zorba, former bandmate in PostHuman, with whom they toured Europe, rekindling their deep musical connection and passion for relentless intensity and depth and channelling this unfiltered energy into this new, heavier, darker project. Drummer Roberto Catanzaro then joined in, bringing a new dynamic layer to their presence, his powerful and heavy-weighted performance adding body, urgency and raw impact to their overall sound.

Soulpunx is an independent record label and media production house founded in 2017 by music producer and film composer Konstantin Dellos. Dedicated to the creation and promotion of high-quality audiovisual art, the label's focus is modern rock and alternative music. Traditional Mongolian strings herald the arrival of "The Men." This organic swell gives way to a gritty and gruff groove-laden riff topped off with hypnotic vocals. The band’s signature hybrid of indigenous instrumentation, heavy-as-a-2x4 guitars, and transfixing tribal chanting makes for another essential anthem from The Hu. About "The Men," Galaa commented, "'The Men' is written based on Mongolian philosophy of 'Man’s Inner Spirit' or 'Хийморь' and the importance of inner strength and kindness of a man to the world. Regarding "Warrior Chant," Galaa added, "'Warrior Chant' has our signature rhythm that our fans fell in love with and everyone who will listen and know us will say that it is 'our song.' The Hu will team up with Cello Metal standouts Apocalyptica for a run of shows this May and June. The tour kicks off on May 12 in Silver Spring, MD and will take them across the country before wrapping in Anaheim, CA on June 7. Joining The Hu and Apocalyptica will be platinum-selling Finnish rock band The Rasmus.

In addition to closing all shows on this tour, The Hu are celebrating the recent release of their latest single "The Real You," which is "the representation of our new album, The Hun," says Temka – Temuulen N (band's tovshuur player, throat singer). "The Real You" is one of the few songs from The Hu in which Western music components are prominent.

And in other The Hu news, the band recently appeared on the song "Pray to the Sun," featuring Declan de Barra, from the Netflix Japanese manga series One Piece. Slow Degrade Share New Single "Lead Me Down" — LISTEN // Headline Tour Begins This May

After gaining buzz as a viral artist-to-watch, rising Mobile, Alabam heavy shoegaze band Slow Degrade share a brand new single entitled "Lead Me Down" out now.

"I wrote 'Lead Me Down' about my brother's past relationship and watching him change who he is to fit the mold of someone he thought cared for him," Shane Prickett says. "The relationship impacted my brother, and seeing him go through that really affected me. My brother, being somebody that was always so uplifting and happy, the change in character was really apparent and it hurt me to see him go through that."

To bring the track to life, Slow Degrade worked with producer Kevin DeLeon, mixer Austin Coupe [Moodring, The Devil Wears Prada, Thousand Below], and mastering engineer Chris Gehringer [Turnstile, Fall Out Boy, Twenty One Pilots].

The song entangles spacey synths within a web of fuzzed-out distortion. Thick riffs abound, while ethereal vocals practically hover above the verses. It climaxes on a plea during the chorus "Just lead me down." The outro bridge explodes in a catharsis of screams and thudding percussion.

Confronting the complexity of a one-sided relationship, "Lead Me Down" illuminates the group's entrancing dynamics, unfiltered emotionality, and impeccable songcraft.

Next up, Slow Degrade will launch a North American headline tour this May alongside Commoner. HASTE THE DAY, the metalcore band that made a scene splash in the '00s, returned in 2024 with the video for the new song "Burn." They also appeared at Furnace Fest that year. Flatwounds Release "Chain of Command" EP + Share "Inertia" Video

"'Inertia' was written with a sense of urgency," says O'Hare. "It's made to pull something out of you that you might not be comfortable with. But that's what it's all about."

Regarding the EP as a whole, O'Hare explained previously, "Chain of Command represents how we've evolved and matured as musicians. This is our sound. It's a little weird, dissonant, melodic, and heavy when it needs to be. The title works because most of the songs are about apathy and a lack of action. There's always a 'chain of command' in life, and it keeps you from doing what you want. It could be societal or in your head. You always have to answer to something, though."

Flatwounds are hitting the road throughout the spring and summer starting with a handful of dates with Excide, and are set to appear at the Sick New World Festival in Las Vegas next month. The band will also perform at the Sick New World Pre-Show with Mastodon and Melvins at The Chelsea in Las Vegas on April 24.

What would a rock 'n' roll band sound like if it was born from a basement hardcore scene? Well, it might sound a bit like Flatwounds. The Albany, NY quartet could certainly send any floor into a frenzy, yet they also write hooks addictive enough to bring an arena to its feet. Forged by a cold indie underground and even colder East Coast winters, there’s chaotic intensity underneath their concrete infectiousness. Folk Duo Tabernis Reveals New Single "Mel Obscurum (Palästinalied)" + Video

Folk duo TABERNIS channel the Middle Ages with their new single, "Mel Obscurum (Palästinalied)." The second single off of their upcoming album, Seasons of the Dark Hive, out April 24 via Napalm Records, shows their alluring devotion to the craft, as it is a rendition of an actual medieval song! Their version of celebrated German poet Walther von der Vogelweide's 13th-century "Palestine Song," one of the most famous surviving medieval songs, bestows a special historicism upon TABERNIS' alluring debut.

"We have covered the instrumental version of this iconic medieval masterpiece, which is known to everyone. Out of deep respect for the original work, we decided to adapt it to our own style. In our version, the music is interwoven with a text evoking the season of our Dark Hive: Vespera — the rest, the twilight. As the cold covers the land, the bees huddle together to protect their Queen and preserve the heart of the hive."
