California Cowgirl: Annie Bosko’s Debut Album Arrives October 3

Working with producers Trent Willmon and David “Messy” Mescon, and writing alongside the likes of Mescon, Jeffrey Steele, Bridgette Tatum, Danny Myrick, Terri Jo Box and more, Bosko co-wrote over half the songs found on California Cowgirl, including the already released title track, “God Winks, “Tequila Time,” “Country Girls! (Who Run the World)” and “Heartburn” featuring Dwight Yoakam. The project also features tracks penned by Lainey Wilson, Garth Brooks and Hannah Dasher.

Bosko will join Dolly Parton for Dolly: Live in Las Vegas at The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace on December 10, following her album release party on October 3 at Desert 5 Spot in Los Angeles. She is also set for a headlining performance at Nashville Dance Fest this Sunday, September 7 and a date supporting Jessica Simpson at Genesee Theatre on Saturday, September 20.

Rising singer/songwriter Annie Bosko is stepping into a new chapter with her debut album, California Cowgirl, arriving October 3 via QHMG/Stone Country Records. Growing up a farmer’s daughter, the collection reflects her West Coast roots that run deep in the heart of California’s agricultural country while blending her love of timeless storytelling with a sound that’s equal parts confident and catchy. Pre-save/pre-add California Cowgirl HERE.

California Cowgirl is a colorful tapestry woven from the threads of my life — with a fabric for everyone,” shares Bosko. “From the grit of growing up a farmer’s daughter to the faith that’s kept me chasing my dreams, this album reveals both the tender and the tough sides of who I am. It carries the pioneer spirit of the West, the heartbeat of the American dream and a Golden State glow with country soul.”

To accompany today’s announcement, Bosko also releases a new studio version of “Honky Tonk Heartbeat,” a track fans may recognize from Ariat’s buzzed-about “Line-Men Dancing” campaign, featuring fellow Ariat ambassador and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy.

Penned by Bosko specifically for the campaign, Purdy leads his center Jake Brendel, retired tight end Bear Pascoe and a squad of Stanford University linemen in a choreographed line dance, bringing “Honky Tonk Heartbeat (Football Line-Men Dance)” to life:

CHAYCE BECKHAM DIVES DEEP INTO THE “OCEAN BLUE” WITH POIGNANTLY SEA-SOAKED CLASSIC COUNTRY HEARTBREAKER

Platinum-selling, chart-topping country riser Chayce Beckham returns following his acclaimed debut album, Bad For Me, and #1 smash "23" with the hauntingly deep “Ocean Blue.” Rooting the lonesome groove in classic country, the poignant heartbreaker - produced by Bart Butler - is amplified by rich fiddle, striking steel guitar and timeless rhythm. Reminiscent of the storytelling spirit of country legends like George Strait, Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash, listen Below

Joining Warren Zeiders on his Relapse, Lies & Betrayal Tour this fall, following shows with Luke Bryan, Parker McCollum, Tyler Hubbard and more, the 2025 Grand Ole Opry NextStage artist captures the vulnerability of a breakup on this latest release, aligning feelings of sadness and longing with the vast, restless sea.

“I wrote this song last fall with Brandon Kinney and John Pierce on my tour bus,” Beckham shares. “This is one of my favorites. I love songs that sound like this, and I am very proud of how it came out and who I wrote it with. I’m excited to finally have it out in the world. This is the first of several songs I’ll be releasing, happy and sad, and I’m excited for y’all to hear them all.”

Recounting a love gone too soon, heartbreak can feel like being caught in a stormy ocean. When all that remains are the memories, those waves of sadness wash over you and a different shade of blue emerges.

“One of the genre’s most exciting rising stars,” this “poster child for impactful and meaningful Country music right now” (Entertainment Focus), leans hard into his signature, authentic brand of songwriting that “country music needs more of” (Taste of Country).” With more music on the way, the chart-topper is one of few country risers who have “fully solidified themselves as industry players and have become household names” (American Songwriter).

Brooklyn's CLONE announces coming 'Care To Try' EP, with first offering 'Galvanized'

Brooklyn alt rockers CLONE have released their single 'Galvanized', an adrenaline-inducing offering that vibrantly foreshadows their new 'Care To Try' EP, out October 3 via Portland label Little Cloud Records.

Written over the past year with Clone's original lineup of LG Galleon (Dead Leaf Echo), Gregg Giufree (Pilot to Gunner), Max Idas and Dominick Turi, this EP was produced by LG Galleon and Martin Bisi (Sonic Youth, Swans, Brian Eno, John Zorn, Herbie Hancock, Iggy Pop, Helmet, Dresden Dolls) at his famed BC Studio (built with Brian Eno), and mastered by Fred Kevorkian (The White Stripes, Sonic Youth, Juliana Hatfield, Regina Spektor, Lloyd Cole).

The band has also announced autumn tour dates with current members LG Galleon, Paul Liziragga (Namesake) and Alex Cox (The Veldt) now joined by new drummers Avery Brooks and Jeremy Duvall.

“Sliding away from our standard programming, we have just a silly little live song about that moment when u first lock eyes with the possible “one” and think to yourself "could this be it?" - a moment frozen in time and then you both move into stimulated action.… galvanized," says LG Galleon.

"These songs were again recorded with the legendary Martin Bisi, who helped bring the determination and drive in the studio to the forefront when recording these songs. A different lineup makes for a novel live experience every time, yet always with incendiary results.  The full tour in October should prove a very fruitful experience and we are looking forward to playing these new songs from the EP live."

Last year, Clone debuted their 'CL. 1' album and 12" vinyl LP, born from a seemingly lost wellspring of shared imagination and youthful transformative power, via Little Cloud and North Carolina's 5BC Records, previewed by the iconoclastic singles 'Immutable', 'Dividing Line' and 'Redeemer'.

A passionate attempt to revive the kind of music that once profoundly resonated with the isolated and vulnerable, Clone's music possesses a transformative power, capable of inspiring through its galvanizing, redemptive power. Drawing on the raw energy and boundless creativity of youth, Clone has created a personal sonic world that they now invite us all to experience.

The past few years has seen Clone tour with Christian Death, Twin Tribes, Wand, La Witch, Live Skull, and The Veldt, among others. With recent stops including SXSW, they continue touring, soon to appear at INKFEST and the Purple City Music Festivalin Providence, RI and Edmonton respectively.

'Galvanized' is out digitally, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. On October 3, the 'Care To Try' EP will be released on 7" vinyl, as well as digitally.

Green Carnation Premiere First Part of A Dark Poem

"Today is a milestone in Green Carnation's history, as we're now finally able to share the first part of A Dark Poemwith the world", says the band's vocalist Kjetil Nordhus. "The incredible amount of work behind this album, and the time it took to finish it on the level we wanted, makes it even sweeter to finally be here. This is indeed a proud moment for Green Carnation. We are looking forward to the journey ahead".

Green Carnation will perform all of A Dark Poem live in their hometown of Kristiansand, Norway on September 12, 2026. During this once-in-a-lifetime 3-hour performance, the band will perform all three parts of their epic album trilogy in full, one after another, alongside some very special guests and the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra.

No matter how long or where the journey has taken them, Green Carnation have always sought to climb the highest mountains. While founded by Emperor's former bassist Tchort in the early '90s, the Norwegians quickly blazed their own trail through fields of symphonic doom, hard rock, acoustic plucking and progressive metal. The idea for an album trilogy stems back to the band's very first opus, Light of Day, Day of Darkness, though the inspiration for A Dark Poem dates back even further to Arthur Rimbaud's 1870 poem "Ophelia".

"We like to purse things that are extremely ambitious", says Nordhus. "Creating a trilogy of albums felt like it might be just out of our reach, which is what made us want to see if we could do it".

Though only the beginning of the band's latest epic journey, The Shores of Melancholia pulls a page from across Green Carnation's storied 25-year discography. The album's opening one-two punch landed a direct hit during the band's set yesterday at ProgPower USA. "As Silence Took You" opens its sails with majestic, billowing leads before "In Your Paradise" chugs full steam ahead after the clarion call of a flute. "It makes you want to bang your head a little", Nordhus says with a pleased smile. "I think melancholia suits Green Carnation very well".

While navigated with the band’s familiar mastery, the view from The Shores of Melancholia is no palatial retreat. "The album reflects the troubled relationship between our personal lives and the external world", Nordhus explains. "It's about losing faith in the world we've come to know and how that leads to an inner dystopia". Judgement day appears around every corner, steering them from the title track’s anxious war-torn tide to the Floydian whirlpools of paranoia that drench "Me, My Enemy". The dark and stormy "The Slave That You Are" even claws back to Green Carnation's budding days in extreme metal thanks to the blackened howl of Enslaved's Grutle Kjellson.

A lesson learned, now bridges burn”,  Nordhus cries out with impassioned cleans, as if tied to the mast during the album's bright and blazing closer "Too Close to the Flame".

On A Dark Poem, Part I: The Shores of Melancholia, Green Carnation set sail on an epic journey into a dark night of the soul.

BATTLE BEAST - unveil brand-new single "Angel of Midnight"

Finland’s power metal force BATTLE BEAST present their fourth single, 'Angel Of Midnight', taken from their highly anticipated upcoming album Steelbound, due for release on October 17th, 2025. The single arrives with a brand-new, visually striking music video.

Built on a catchy hard rock riff, bouncing synths, and the soaring, powerful vocals of Noora Louhimo, 'Angel Of Midnight' once again demonstrates BATTLE BEAST’s mastery in blending infectious hooks with heavy, high-energy metal — a sound that makes you want to dance and headbang all at once.

With Steelbound, BATTLE BEAST continue to refine their unmistakable style, delivering a collection of tracks that balance anthemic power, melodic accessibility, and unrelenting heaviness.

Songwriter and bassist Eero Sipilä comments:

"I really had an internal battle with writing this one. We’re a heavy metal band. Will we be burned at the stake, for making a hard rock tune with romantic notions?
Then it hit me: We’re Battle Beast—we can do whatever the hell we want.

‘Midnight’ nods deeply to Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Whitesnake—all the greats—and makes no qualms about it. So let the feeling carry you, and crank it like it’s 1987."

Rory John Zak, a powerhouse vocalist & multi-instrumentalist from North Carolina, delivers harmonies & a magnetic live presence built across 300+ shows annually. 1916 Drops New Single “Upon the Green” Produced by Ted Hutt

1916, the boundary-pushing rock band known for blending classic rock grit with Irish punk, straight-up punk, rockabilly, and more, unleashes their latest single, “Upon the Green.” This is the third release from their highly anticipated full-length album, Conscience of Kings, due next spring, and it proves once again why 1916 is a force to be reckoned with in modern rock. Produced by Ted Hutt (Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys), the track smashes expectations with high-energy riffs, driving rhythms, and unrelenting attitude.

“We had a bet! It was 2 in the morning at Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, TX and we were still a track short for the album,” said Hutt. “I bet you can't come up with a song worthy of its place on the record by tomorrow morning. Billy grabbed the nearest guitar, shuffled off with it, a bag of chips, and a bottle of Bushmills single malt, and by 10 the next morning had a completely new song—and it was a banger!! We just had to put it on the record!”

Since their formation, 1916 has been carving out a sound all their own—fusing raw rock energy, Irish punk attitude, and rockabilly swagger into songs that hit hard but never feel formulaic. Their live shows are as explosive as their recordings, earning them a devoted fanbase and critical acclaim alike. Conscience of Kings promises to be their most dynamic work yet, showcasing the band’s versatility and fearless approach to genre-blending.

About 1916:

Hailing from upstate NY, Celtic rockers 1916 are an explosive concoction of the modern Irish Punk movement with an original mix of psychobilly which gives 1916 a sound that stands apart from other bands of the genre.

Starting as an acoustic duo in 2006, singer Billy Herring and original drummer Steve LaDue played the traditional Irish ballads of the Dubliners and Wolfe Tones in the local pubs in and around their home-town of Rochester, NY.  They decided to call themselves 1916 to get people interested in Irish history.  In 2010 they took the music to a new level with the addition of electric guitars, traditional instruments, and a full drum set.  Within a few months of trying their new sound, 1916 were opening for the likes of the Dropkick Murphys, 21 Pilots, and New Politics, among other national acts.

On St. Patrick’s Day of 2012, 1916 released their first studio album, A Drop of the Pure, to rave reviews.  That same year, 1916 became the first band from Rochester, NY to get their own Pandora station with the addition of their music to the Pandora genome project.  With their music now reaching a global audience, the boys would soon gain fans all over the world.

The following year, 1916 released their sophomore album, Stand Up & Fight.  This new album, featuring a collection of covers and originals, had a more polished sound than the raw punk feel of  A Drop of the Pure.  This new full length album also featured more traditional Irish instruments to give the new LP a fun and full sound.

As the band continued to evolve, they kept touring and playing as many shows as possible.  With bigger audiences came a larger fan base for 1916 to interact with.  The band has always enjoyed hanging out with the crowd both pre- and post- shows.

In November of 2014, the guys went back into the studio to begin recording their third album, Last Call for Heroes.  Released in December of 2015, Last Call for Heroes was met with great enthusiasm from critics.  Named one of the “best punk albums of 2016,” both home and abroad, the new album appeared to have given the band the momentum they needed to move forward.

Mandolin player Jon Kane joined the band in early 2016, just before the boys hit the road to join Flogging Molly on their Salty Dog Cruise.  After a whirlwind spring of touring through the Bahamas and Europe, Jon was just what the band needed as he brought his energetic and fun stage persona into the fold.

The sound had certainly become streamlined and unique, but it wasn’t until 2017 that upright bassist Ryan Hurley would join 1916 to give the band the final integral piece that gives the music its psychobilly flavor. Soon after Ryan joined the band, 1916 further expanded their sound by the addition of accordion player Sam Sarratori to the crew!

Then…Covid hit in 2020. The band had just settled into a groove where they were poised for a northeastern US tour alongside a new live album. All that had to be put on hold indefinitely until further notice. After a year on hold, Billy knew something needed to be done to get momentum going again for his band. With that in mind, he packed up and moved to Nashville TN in order to give the music of 1916 more visibility. It was around this time the band welcomed the thundering drums of Chad Paetznick to take over behind the kit.

1916 has since been picked up by TLG|ROCK for a distribution deal for not only their fifth full length studio album Revolutions, but for their sixth LP, titled Conscience of Kings. This new record is being produced by Grammy Award winning musician & producer Ted Hutt at the legendary Sonic Ranch Studios in El Paso Texas.

1916 is:
Billy Herring - Lead Vocals/Guitar/Banjo

Ryan Hurley - Upright Bass/Back-Up Vocals

Chad Paetznick - Drums

Sam Sarratori - Accordion/ Sunday Sauce

Downswing Sign to MNRK, Announce "And Everything Was Dark" Out 10/24, Share "For What It's Worth"

Darkness isn't merely a theme for Downswing — it's the environment they've learned to endure.

The Albany, New York outfit cultivates a heavy atmosphere and melodic depth, stripping away emotional armor and calloused defenses to reveal something raw and defiantly honest. The band’s new album, And Everything Was Dark, serves as both a mission statement and a bold leap forward.

It arrives October 24 via MNRK, the band's new label home. Pre-order it here.

The band shares the video for first single "For What It's Worth" (Feat. Travis Moseley of Colorblind). Watch it below.

The song is a bleak outburst of betrayal, confusion, and emotional fallout.

"As a collective going into the studio, we knew that 'For What It's Worth' was a heavy favorite," says vocalist Harrison Seanor. "Right from the opening riff, it just has that energy, that drive. It's hard not to bang your head."

Since 2016, Downswing have steadily evolved into a powerhouse of modern metal and groove. The group's current incarnation emphasizes big choruses, bigger breakdowns, atmosphere, and emotion. "This is the first time it feels like we're doing exactly what we want,” says Seanor, who joined the band in 2020. "We're not chasing any specific trend or scene. We’re Downswing."

Downswing are comprised of Seanor, guitarist Anthony Salvaggio, bassist Chris Arnold, and drummer Nick Manzella. Created with a focus on clarity and impact, And Everything Was Dark builds on the sonic foundation of their earlier work while boldly venturing into new territory. Gargantuan riffs and breakdowns intertwine with massive hooks, textures, and lyrics that resonate deeper than ever before. Downswing formed in 2018 and quickly made waves with their unique blend of metallic hardcore aggression and groove-driven heaviness. Early releases, such as the Dark Side of the Mind EP (2017) and Good Intentions (2020), cultivated a dedicated following in the underground and earned the band a reputation for high intensity. In a glowing 9/10 review, New Transcendence said 2022's New Lows EP "packs a hefty punch" and "a stellar appetizer to whatever is up next in the band's bright future." The Let This Life Devour You EP arrived in 2024.

Downswing are touring this September, opening for He Is Legend, who are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their Suck Out the Poison album. All dates are below.

NEW DELUXE VERSION OF LAINEY WILSON’S AWARD-WINNING ALBUM WHIRLWIND OUT NOW

In addition to Whirlwind’s original 14 songs, the new extended edition features five additional tracks: “Bell Bottoms Up,” “King Ranch, King George, King James,” “Yesterday, All Day, Every Day,” “Peace, Love, and Cowboys” and Wilson’s current single, Somewhere Over Laredo,” which debuted earlier this summer and continues to rise on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.

Released to overwhelming attention from fans and critics alike, “Somewhere Over Laredo” was the most added song at country radio at impact, garnered over 1.16 million streams across platforms in its first 24 hours (Wilson’s biggest first day of streaming to date) and earned widespread praise from outlets such as CBS Mornings, Rolling Stone and Billboard, who called it “one of her most commanding, dynamic vocal performances to date, crescendo-ing from a soft-focus, tender vocal, before gradually reaching into her upper register for powerful moments that heighten the song’s emotional acuity.”

In celebration of the new music, Wilson recently kicked off the U.S. leg of her sold-out Whirlwind World Tour, which includes upcoming stops at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum, New York’s Madison Square Garden, Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, Austin’s Moody Center and Baton Rouge’s Raising Cane’s River Center (two nights) among many others. Following this run, Wilson will perform a series of shows in Australia and New Zealand early next year. See below for the complete itinerary, full details can be found at www.laineywilson.com/tour.

In the midst of a monumental year, Wilson also won four awards at the 60th ACM Awards earlier this spring—Entertainer of the Year (her second consecutive win), Female Artist of the Year (her third consecutive win), Album of the Year (Whirlwind) and Artist-Songwriter of the Year—performed during the Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Halftime Show and won two awards at the 58th CMA Awards, where she made her hosting debut alongside Peyton Manning and Luke Bryan. Wilson also recently launched her fourth collection with Wrangler, as well as her own boot (Golden West Boots) and jewelry lines (The Lainey Wilson Jewelry Collection).

The 16x ACM, 9x CMA and Grammy Award-winner and Grand Ole Opry member is a prolific, sought-after songwriter who has scored eight #1 hits including “4x4xU,” “Wildflowers And Wild Horses,” “Watermelon Moonshine” and the 2x PLATINUM Certified “Heart Like A Truck,” in addition to award-winning collaborations with Cole Swindell (“Never Say Never”), Jelly Roll (“Save Me”) and HARDY (“wait in the truck”). Moreover, Wilson wrote and recorded “Out of Oklahoma” for the Twisters movie and has collaborated with artists such as Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert, Dolly Parton, Post Malone and more. Death Metal Force NO RAZA Unveils Powerful New Video for "Savage Strength"!

US death metal force NO RAZA, originally from Colombia, just dropped a new music video for their track "Savage Strength" from the latest album, Tyrona, out now on Noble Demon.

"'Savage Strength' is a fierce anthem honoring the true guardians of our planet - wildlife", the band states. "The lyrics channel raw power and urgency, reminding us that while humans are invaders destroying balance, nature continues to resist, fight back, and reclaim its place. This song is not just music, it’s a call to respect, protect, and recognize the wild as the ultimate force of resilience and wisdom. The countdown has begun… and nature will prevail."

Watch the video for "Savage Strength" below.

Furthermore, NO RAZA are hitting the road for a run of North American shows this September. Be sure to catch the band on the following dates:

About NO RAZA:

From the landscapes of Colombia, forged in 1997, death metal powerhouse NO RAZA has taken root in Florida, USA, continuing their relentless sonic assault. More than just a band, NO RAZA delivers a visceral experience, their live staging a stark recreation of a world ravaged by conflict. Through their crushing riffs and guttural pronouncements, they embody the spirit of resistance, standing as sentinels of truth, fiercely defending ancestral cultures and the remnants of a world teetering on the brink.

Thorugh the years, the band has performed on international stages across Mexico, the UK, the USA, and Colombia, sharing the spotlight with renowned bands at major festivals and tours.

After releasing three solid full-length studio albums between 2004 and 2014, NO RAZA was one of the very first signings of Germany-based metal record label Noble Demon (est. 2019) and successfully released their latest masterpiece, "Transcending Material Sins", back in 2020. Now, five years after that success, this powerful alliance is reignited with the unveiling of "Tyrona", the band's newest masterpiece.

TESTAMENT | ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM PARA BELLUM + RELEASE MUSIC VIDEO FOR 'INFANTICIDE A.I.'

Bay Area thrash metal icons TESTAMENT returns this Fall with their fourteenth studio album, Para Bellum. The album which will be released on October 10th via Nuclear Blast Records stands as both a battle cry and an observation of humanity's uneasy alliance with its own creations. As technology accelerates and disconnection grows, Para Bellum sees TESTAMENT reflecting the modern chaos through music that’s urgent, sharp, and unflinchingly human.

Today, TESTAMENT deliver one of their most intense songs they've written to date, 'Infanticide A.I.'. Lead by the blinding speed of their new drummer Chris Dovas, the band shows off its musical talent far beyond their expected norms. Watch the music video for 'Infanticide A.I.'' directed by Joey Durango, here: https://youtu.be/Gtw3lcQvyPU

TESTAMENT's Chuck Billycomments, "The new album Para Bellum consists of some fast, heavy and melodic tunes. Once again Peterson has found a way to keep the song writing fresh and modern sounding. It’s gonna be hard to choose what songs to play live cause to many to choose from."

TESTAMENT's Eric Petersonstates,"It’s been 5 years since our last recordTitans Of Creationwas released. Since then, we all waited to get back to it and we all did in a big way! Now our long over due new recordPara Bellumis upon us and about to be released in October. We are super stoked and excited to release new blood and fury to you all! With our first single 'Infanticide A.I.' we’re coming out swinging! But with new velocities of fury, while maintaining a balance that we all love and know from a Testament track, enjoy!"

Stream 'Infanticide A.I.' here

Para Bellum was recorded with Juan Urteaga, mixed by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios, and was mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios. The album is extremely polished and operating at full throttle. The band once again enlisted Eliran Kantor tocreate the album artwork. In an era flooded by AI-generated imagery. the hand painted creation encapsulates the album’s essence: a serene angel made of missiles, an explosion turned halo, surrounded by shovel-bearing cultists with books strapped to their faces.

From first note to last breath, Para Bellum is an album by warriors—crafted in chaos, and built to outlast the wars to come!

Der Weg einer Freiheit Release Searing New Single "Marter"

Since their formation in 2009, Der Weg einer Freiheit have carved out a singular place in modern black metal. While rooted in the genre’s foundations, these Germans are constantly evolving. On their upcoming sixth album, they turn inward with devastating clarity. Innern tunnels toward collapse and into silence before finally reaching a place of personal transformation.

Today, Der Weg einer Freiheit are releasing the second advanced single from Innern. “Marter” is the album’s searing opener, a harrowing plunge into its core themes of isolation, dissolution and the fragile possibility of release.

Watch the video for “Marter” below.

As the opening track from Innern, “Marter” sets the tone for an album that peers inward, confronting pain not as an end, but as a threshold. The song is defined by its contrasts: unrelenting yet fragile, crushing yet imbued with fleeting moments of calm. Opening with mournful restraint, it slowly uncoils into a storm of relentless tremolo-picked guitars. Intricate yet punishing blast beats from Tobias Schuler rumble beneath the grounding weight of Alan Noruspur’s bass. Nikita Kamprad and Nicolas Rausch’s layered guitars oscillate between ferocity and elegiac stillness as Kamprad’s vocals shift from anguished cries to whispered resignation.

On “Marter”, Der Weg einer Freiheit contemplate identity, rebirth and the futility of clinging to words that fall on deaf ears. The lyrics’ imagery of burning throats, collapsing voices and the pull of the stars frames suffering as both torment and an avenue toward renewal. The repeated surrender, “Nimm sie alle, meine Schreie…”(“Take them all, my screams…”), dissolves personal agony into something vast and cosmic.

The lyric video for “Marter” was created by Riivata Visuals.

DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT stand now at the peak of a fifteen-year evolution.Their music is as concerned with silence as it is with sound, as shaped by introspection as by fury. As they prepare to bring Innern to European stages in autumn 2025, they do so not as provocateurs of extremity, but as artists navigating the fragile space between collapse and clarity. In a genre often defined by spectacle, DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT remain committed to vulnerability, transformation, and truth.

Barbarians of California (Feat. AWOLNATION, Tinfed) Return With New Ripper "Modern Fashion"

The West Coast's contribution to hardcore punk is undeniable. That tradition of aggression, passion, and scrappy melodicism continues with The Barbarians Of California, an engaging new manifestation of iconoclastic spirit and true bombast. Featuring Aaron Bruno of AWOLNATION and Eric Stenman of Tinfed, as well as being a noted producer, TBOC are equal opportunity iconoclasts, gleefully thrashing the left and the right in the hardcore-punk tradition of nonconformity and raw fury. The band isn't "political," because they aren't advocating for anyone's platform. The central message is defiance.

Today, The Barbarians of California return with the video for the brand new single "MODERN FASHION."

Watch it below.

"Hopefully, 'Modern Fashion' can become a metaphor for whatever you feel like wearing and for whatever music you feel like listening to...never having to explain yourself," declares Bruno.

How many easter eggs can you spot?

The track is built on noisy, choppy riffs that land like electric shocks to your spine. It's gnarly post-hardcore at its absolute finest.

The band's debut album And Now I'm Just Gnashing My Teeth arrived last year. Get it here.

TBOC will spend the rest of August and September on tour with Deftones. All upcoming TBOC dates are below, including an appearance at RiotFest.

ABOUT THE BARBARIANS OF CALIFORNIA:
So, who, exactly, are The Barbarians of California? Here's a refresher.

Eric Stenman and Aaron Bruno first collided in the California hardcore scene of the early '90s. Stenman cut his teeth in the same Sacramento community that eventually launched diverse and disparate acts like Deftones, Far, Will Haven, Team Sleep, Hella, Death Grips, and Trash Talk. Bruno was born and raised just north of L.A. and nicknamed "AWOL" by his high school friends.  Eric played guitar for cutting-edge, electro-infused rockers Tinfed. Commercial success eluded them despite a cult following, a deal with a major label, and an appearance on the M:I 2 soundtrack.  Bruno co-founded the hardcore band Insurgence as a teenager. His next band, Home Town Hero, toured with Weezer and Stone Temple Pilots and released a major label album, but combusted in 2004. Next came Under The Influence Of Giants, who, despite critical acclaim, disbanded in 2008. Stenman became one of the most sought-after producers of alternative rock. His discography as a producer, mixer, and engineer includes important releases from 7 Seconds, Senses Fail, ††† (Crosses), and AWOLNATION. AWOLNATION, of course, is the multi-platinum act Bruno formed in 2009.

The spirit of the underground and the personal catharsis delivered through metallic hardcore never left either of them. So, when Aaron learned that Eric crafted a batch of throwback bangers combining impassioned angst with modern sensibilities, he wanted in immediately. The Barbarians were born.  The apparent "full circle" moment isn't lost on either of them. "It's a funny time in our lives to go back and make the most aggressive music we've ever created," Stenman laughs. “Both of us have always had a love for this world. If given the opportunity, why not try to give back to it?"
