Many bands have explored the Pagan & Norse worlds over the last 15 years seeking atmospheric, acoustic and ritual sounds with great seriousness. This is not the path EIHWAR chose.

Although the musicians of Eihwar are virtuosos in their acoustic traditional instruments, their goal is to bring some fun… and as much chaos as possible during their concerts, provoking the craziest trance on dancefloors. They bring a festive and furious neo-viking music whose primal force is based on technoid machines, mixed with trance vocals, shamanic drums and traditional Nordic sounds. Electronics are a ‘new steel’ for those modern warriors, cold and powerful. As the web already says, the duo is a kind of new ‘Viking Carpenter Brut’.

Thus, Eihwar named the single, the album but also their style of music ‘Viking War Trance’.

We are heavy drops of rain announcing lightning.
We call for war:
A war waged against our judgments,
Our inner demons, our limits,
Our stiffness of body and mind.
We don’t want our best enemies to spare us
Nor to be spared by those we love.
We invoke a war for our thoughts,
A flamboyant chaos of fire & ice,
Cradle of creation.

Cryptopsy Release Eye-Popping New Single

After 30 years, Cryptopsy are no strangers to the spotlight. Since their ungentle exhumation from the Canadian underground in 1993, the Montreal natives have worn the horned crown as the most vile band in death metal. Their upcoming ninth album and first since winning a JUNO Award embodies the many malicious mutations that have defined their Hall of Fame discography. But while infectious, the latest single from An Insatiable Violence brutally illustrates that society's viral takeover isn't all it's cracked up to be.

"'Dead Eyes Replete' is one of the most brutal songs on our new album", vocalist Matt McGachy says. "It reaches into the depths of the sordid world of YouTube child stars and how parents rob them of their youth and innocence all in the name of greed".

Watch the lyric video for "Dead Eyes Replete" below:

The concept for Cryptopsy's upcoming new album appeared to vocalist Matt McGachy in an eerily prescient dream. But the latest single from An Insatiable Violence was inspired by the real life horrors of kidfluencing. "Nurture the chosen one", McGachy barks, opening "Dead Eyes Replete" with his freshly groomed death growls.

"We've played at least 140 shows since our last album", he says, "and all those reps have helped me deepen and darken my false chord screams".

Just like a doe-eyed YouTuber is pounced upon by wolves waiting hungrily in the comment section, "Dead Eyes Replete" opens in unfiltered, all caps, attack mode. As Christian Donaldson bends his frets like a spotlight operator who's gone haywire, Flo Mounier rolls out carpet-bombing blasts beats with blinding precision. "Since our last album, I've developed new techniques that allow us to go even faster", says Mounier. His controlled chaos is still the force that binds Cryptopsy's bloodlust, though he managed to raise the eyebrows of their in-house producer. Blink and you may miss it, but lurking within the song's stuffed sockets is a trampling fill that resembles another powerhouse.

"I love John Bonham's playing", Mounier says. "I told Chris that we were leaving that part in there. It's the closest we're ever going to come to sounding like Led Zeppelin".

During death metal's initial spike in popularity, Cryptopsy quickly staked their claim as the scene's most brutal band of technicians. They never stop knifing between surgical tempo changes and filthy hooks, but An Insatiable Violence gouges deeper into the lascivious grooves that won them last year's Canadian Grammy for best Metal/Hard Music Album. "Beware the spotlight" McGachy flashes with his signature bat-like shriek just before bassist Oli Pinnard slams "Dead Eyes Replete" shut with a career-best breakdown.

The video for "Dead Eyes Replete" was created by B2crea.

In the wake of spreading bloodshed all over Europe with Decapitated, Cryptopsy are now fiending to feast on the new cuts from An Insatiable Violence with their ravenous fans across the U.S.

This fall, the band are joining brutal technical death metal pharaohs Nile on a 25-date tour of the East Coast, Midwest and Pacific Northwest. Joining them on this run are The Last Ten Seconds of Life and Cognitive.

"We are so excited to bring An Insatiable Violence to the United States. It's a pleasure to tour amongst friends and this lineup is incredibly stacked!", Cryptopsy says. "Our new album was written for a live setting. The songs are more brutal and grooving so that people can really latch on and bang their heads".

Cryptopsy's setlist for this tour will pull from the band's latest albums while mixing in revered classics.

LANIE GARDNER DROPS NEW EP POLAROIDS, SHINES AT CMA FEST 2025

Rising country talent Lanie Gardner capped a breakout week with the release of her new EP Polaroids (BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville) and a string of standout performances across CMA Fest 2025.

The six-song project blends country grit, alt-pop edge, and acoustic soul into what Entertainment Focus hails as a “confident leap into Southern pop-country terrain, bringing groove, grit, and a whole lot of attitude.” Produced by Oscar Charles, Jonathan Singleton, and Chris Ganoudis, the project includes standout releases like the “searing and sultry” (Billboard) “Buzzkill," the emotionally charged “Concrete Cowboy,” and the breezy new opener “Takin’ The Slow Ride.” Listen to Polaroids here.

To celebrate the release, Gardner performed across CMA Fest stages, including Spotify House, the Reverb Stage, Ole Red’s On The Rise Showcase, and a surprise spotlight at Darius Rucker and Friends at The Ryman alongside Morgan Wallen, Luke Bryan and more. She also joined the CMT Next Women of Country showcase and hosted a packed release party at Chief’s Bar in downtown Nashville.

She closes out the week as Apple Music Country’s “Riser of the Month,” featured throughout June on Country Risers Radio with Ward Guenther. Listen here

With Polaroids, Gardner proves she’s "a dynamic artist who can shift between moods, genres, and personas with ease,” writes Entertainment Focus. “She’s not only got the voice, but also the vision, to claim her space in modern Southern pop and mainstream country.”

ABOUT LANIE GARDNER:

Lanie Gardner’s extraordinary journey is a testament to her unmatched talent and unwavering determination, from her roots in the Appalachian Mountains to international stages. A gifted storyteller and songwriter from an early age, Lanie crafted a distinctive blend of classic rock and country influences that quickly set her apart. Her career skyrocketed after her cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” went viral, amassing over 60 million views. With her debut self-penned album A Songwriter’s Diary, released in late 2024, Gardner held her own offering a deeply personal 10-track journey through her roots and creative beginnings. Now, Gardner unveils her highly anticipated new EP, Polaroids (BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville)— a six-track blend of feel-good energy and message-driven meaning, featuring standout tracks like the previously released “Buzzkill” and the emotionally charged “Concrete Cowboy.” Acclaimed by Billboard as “a true artist with staying power" and by MusicRow as “one of the most exciting rising stars today,” Lanie’s rise has been marked by significant milestones, including being named by the Recording Academy and Amazon Music as a “2025 Artist to Watch” and to CMT’s Next Women of Country: Class of 2025. From being featured on the movie soundtracks for Queen of the Ring and Twisters to touring with the Jonas Brothers, Jelly Roll, Cody Johnson and ZZ Ward, Lanie is on the fast-track to stardom. Most recently, she collaborated with country superstar Thomas Rhett and Warren Zeiders, being featured on their just-released tracks “What Could Go Right” and “Love In Letting Go,” respectively. This year alone, she made her Stagecoach debut, joined Corey Kent’s Black Bandana Tour, and will hit the road again this summer/fall with Gavin Adcock. She was also recently invited to make her Opry debut, further solidifying her place as one of the genre’s most exciting new voices. Her soulful sound and captivating stage presence have earned her widespread acclaim and a dedicated fan base. As she continues her ascendancy, Lanie remains a genre-defying artist.

CARSEX Release 'Landmine' Video From "Human Interest" EP

Long Beach, CA Punk/Metal band CARSEX have released their ferocious new EP “Human Interest”, which is a deep dive into timely themes about the current state of our chaotic world.  They channel their anger and angst into 7 pummeling tracks.  The EP was produced by Steve Evetts (Sepultura, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Butcher Babies) at Maple Studios in Santa Ana, CA, and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music in New Windsor, NY.

The EP’s focus track “Landmine” is a heavy, chugging anthem that’s forges ahead like a sonic M1 Abrams Tank.  CARSEX singer Nigel Burk says “Landmine’ is a follow-up to our song “Your Lesson”, which delved into succumbing to various forms of temptation and how we’re taught to fear divine retribution if we fall prey to these desires.  “Landmine” takes it a step further - it’s akin to a bad acid trip where everything is distorted…    You come to the realization that there is no absolution and you’re going to burn anyway.  It’s like walking through a field of landmines – you’re going to blow up, no matter what you do”.

Director Chris Michael explains the “Landmine” video concept: “I teamed up with my buddies in CARSEX to bring their video “Landmine” to life. This track’s a banger, and I was honored to storyboard and shoot it. The concept dives into the effects of an acid trip: The cool blue colors for the initial calm, then harsh reds and awkward angles take over as the hallucinations hit. We swapped the mic for a grenade to push the hallucinatory theme further.”  He continues: “We were under red and blue lighting for hours so long we actually thought we were tripping…. Some of the guys swore the colors were shifting and moving.  Everything about the shoot stayed true to the theme: chaos, distortion, and the constant threat of land mines.”

CARSEX has previously released 2 songs from the EP - “Crooked Canvas” and “Sitting Ducks”, with both tracks gaining support on Heavy Music playlists including Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Pandora and Audiomack. The band’s other releases include 2019’s CarSex and 2020’s 2020 EP, which featured the singles “Your Generation” and “Lovesick”. The band is scheduling shows in support the EP release and will be doing an extended tour in the fall.

Ashley McBryde's "Rattlesnake Preacher" Arrives June 26 Following Fan Demand

After closing out her second year of co-hosting CMA Fest with an electrifying performance at Nissan Stadium Sunday night – including a “scintillating” rendition of fan-favorite “Rattlesnake Preacher,” as praised by Tennessean– Ashley McBryde announces the long-awaited studio version of the live staple, available on June 26 via Warner Music Nashville. Pre-save “Rattlesnake Preacher” HERE.

“‘Rattlesnake Preacher’ has been a staple in our live show since the bar days, and we’ve constantly been asked by fans when it’ll make it onto a record,” shares McBryde. “As we were gearing up for my second year of co-hosting CMA Fest, it felt like the perfect time to finally get this one out there. It’s my way of saying thank you to the fans who have shown up, listened and gave this song life long before it was ever recorded.”

The forthcoming track also holds personal significance for McBryde. Written by her late friend and collaborator Randall Clay, the release of “Rattlesnake Preacher” also honors his legacy.

“I’ve written nearly every song on all my records, so when I cut one I didn’t write, it means something,” shares McBryde. “Randall was part of a group of songwriters that helped me write some of the most formative songs of my career, and his songs will always find a home with me to continue his legacy.”

Produced by John Osborne, McBryde was joined by her band Deadhorse in the studio to capture the same energy the track emanates when performed live. Opening with searing fiddle and white-hot electric guitar, the Arkansas native’s vocals soar:

Last month, McBryde enjoyed a full-circle moment, receiving her Honorary Doctorate of Music from her alma mater Arkansas State University. You can find Doctor McBryde on the road this summer with headlining shows across the U.S. among festival dates at Country Stampede, Country Thunder Wisconsin, WE Fest and more, before joining Little Big Town and Dwight Yoakam on select dates. Whiskey Myers Preview 9/26 Album 'Whomp Whack Thunder' with "Tailspin," Out Now

Acclaimed Southern rockers Whiskey Myers continue to turn up the heat with the release of “Tailspin,” the second track from their highly anticipated seventh album, Whomp Whack Thunder, due Sept. 26 via the band’s own Wiggy Thump Records and available for preorder now. Listen Below.

Following the adrenaline-fueled lead single “Time Bomb,” the multi-Platinum independent band keeps the pedal down with “Tailspin,” a scorching track that captures the band’s signature swagger, blending gritty guitars, pounding rhythms and unflinching lyrics: I was cruising for a little while, but now I’m in a tailspin / If I’m going out, I’m going out in style / I’m headed for the bottom again.

Equal parts anthem and confession, “Tailspin” delivers a raw portrayal of life in freefall – chasing relief, clinging to vices and hoping for a parachute on the way down. The track’s unfiltered energy and hard-driving instrumentation showcase Whiskey Myers at their most urgent and unapologetic, further previewing what fans can expect on the forthcoming album.

Born from the piney woods of East Texas and shaped in the soul of Nashville during an immersive three weeks with renowned producer Jay Joyce – known for bringing edge, atmosphere and unpredictability to every project (Eric Church, Cage the Elephant, Halestorm, Lainey Wilson) – Whomp Whack Thunder is a strong statement from the genre-defying six piece.

“We didn’t set out to chase a specific sound – we set out to make a Whiskey Myers record,” shared lead guitarist John Jeffers when announcing the project. “Jay pulled something out of us that’s raw and real, and every track’s got a piece of our story in it. This album’s about where we’ve been, what we’ve lived and the scars we earned along the way – and I think Whomp Whack Thunder might just be our most fearless album yet.”

Whomp Whack Thunder is the sound of a band at the height of its powers, marrying Southern swagger with arena-sized rock and soul-searching songwriting. Frontman Cody Cannon penned all 11 tracks solo, delivering stories that hit with the emotional weight of lived experience and the firepower of the band’s signature sound. From the breakneck energy of “Tailspin” to the introspective grit of “Icarus” and the raucous stomp of “Ramblin’ Jones,” it’s a record born of the road and shaped by nearly two decades of defiant, grassroots momentum.

The album features the full force of the band – Cannon (vocals, guitar), Jeffers (guitar), Cody Tate (guitar), Jamey Gleaves (bass), Jeff Hogg (drums) and Tony Kent (percussion, piano) – with Joyce also contributing keys, organ and guitar, crafting a sonic landscape that stretches from greasy blues-rock riffs to gospel-tinged country soul.

Ahead of the fall release, fans can catch early previews of the new music on the What We Were Born To Do Tour, kicking off today, June 6 and hitting cities across the U.S. throughout the summer. Whiskey Myers also co-headlines 14 dates of the Live in 25 Tour with Tedeschi Trucks Band later this year in addition to headlining their own personally curated Moon Crush “Whiskey Moon” music vacation taking over Miramar Beach, Fla. Nov. 7-9.

Known for their high-energy live show and unique sound, the band praised by Esquire as “the real damn deal” has also earned sync success with features in Paramount’s hit shows “Yellowstone” (including an on-screen performance) and “Landman,” plus Netflix series “What/If,” Angelina Jolie film “Those Who Wish Me Dead” and CBS series “SEAL Team,” among others. USA Today describes their sound as “a riff-heavy blend of Southern rock and gritty country that has earned comparisons to the Allman Brothers Band and Led Zeppelin,” with Rolling Stone noting “it’s the seminal combination of twang and crunchy rock & roll guitars that hits a perfect sweet spot.”

NJ Music Community Rallies for Tim Cronin (Monster Magnet, Ribeye Brothers) – June 22 Benefit Show in Long Branch, NJ

Earlier this year, Tim Cronin, original Monster Magnet member, beloved Ribeye Brother, and cherished Jack's Record Shoppe stalwart, was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Now, he needs our support. Join us on Sunday, June 22, at Whitechapel Projectsin Long Branch, NJ, for a one-of-a-kind art auction and live music event to benefit Tim.

Hosted by standup comedian Dave Hill, the bands — Holmes, Von Mons, and The Long Defeats — start at 3 pm and will be playing short sets of Ribeye covers, alongside some awesome rock'n'roll DJs.

The art auction features pieces donated by various artist friends, including a signed Beastie Boys print from photographer Danny Clinch. Tim also contributed one of his own pieces to the event. Pat Longo graciously created the show poster, and you can view more of his work HERE.

Event organizer and Ribeye Brother, Joe Calandra comments:

“Save the date. This benefit is for one of my oldest and dearest friends, Tim Cronin. Tim and I have been close since the mid-’80s, when we first met at Jack’s Music. We’ve been all over the world together during our Monster Magnet days, but what I’m most proud of is sharing the stage with him in the Ribeye Brothers for the past 14 years. Please come to the show if you can — to support Tim and celebrate his amazing life. I’m so grateful to have had him in my life all these years. Thank you, Tim.”

The venue was generously donated by Marilyn Schlossbach, who owns the White Chapel Projects, as well as the Low Dive (formerly the Yacht Club) and the Langosta Lounge (now operating under a new name) — all places the Ribeye Brothers have played over the years.

This benefit is a true labor of love, with so many friends and associates working hard to make it happen, including Joe's wife, Samantha, and Todd Abramson of WFMU, who have been handling venue details, lining up DJs, organizing the auction, and keeping everything on track. BetterWorld provides ticketing and online auction services.

"American Idol" Winner Iam Tongi Releases Powerful New Track, "Unbreak My Heart," for His Late Father

On the heels of a week of career firsts and milestones including a performance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” his CMA Fest debut and being surprised with a plaque for 100,000,000 streams, “American Idol” Season 21 winner and Hawaii native, Iam Tongi, releases the powerful new track, “Unbreak My Heart,” today via 19 Recordings. Listen to “Unbreak My Heart” Below. And watch Tongi debut an acoustic version of the track on Monday’s “The Kelly Clarkson Show” HERE

Written by Johnny Reid and Thomas “Tawgs” Salter and recorded in Nashville at Soultrain Sound Studios, the deeply personal ballad finds Tongi reflecting on the loss of his father and picking up the pieces. Delivering vocals tinged with pain and perseverance in a tribute to wounds that never heal, the song is a spiritual follow-up to Tongi’s tearjerking performance of James Blunt’s “Monsters” on “American Idol.” Arriving just over a week before Father’s Day the new track is once again dedicated to his late father.

Tongi says of the song, “I recorded ‘Unbreak My Heart’ in honor of my late father. The first time I heard it I was reminded of exactly how I felt the day we lost him. It speaks true to me and I hope anyone that hears it that has experienced loss knows they are not alone.”

The new music follows a flurry of activity in recent weeks for the Hawaii native, including a return to the Idol stage for the hit ABC show’s Disney Night. The Pacific Islander performed the Lilo & Stitch classic “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride.” Tongi’s take of the song is featured in Disney’s blockbuster live-action Lilo & Stitch film in theaters now. Watch his “American Idol” Performance of “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride” HERE, the official video for Tongi’s version HERE, stream on APPLE MUSIC / SPOTIFY / AMAZON.

Tongi kicked off CMA Fest week on Monday with an acoustic performance of the new track on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” followed by a surprise appearance at a special American Idols Takeover presented by 19 and BMG on Wednesday where he was presented with a plaque for achieving 100,000,000 streams. He then made his CMA Fest debut on the Dr. Pepper Amp stage on Thursday.

CMA Fest week activities, the release of “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride” and a return to “American Idol” follow Tongi’s release, “Sunshine” via 19 Recordings, for Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Written by Tongi along with Tyler Cain and  Johnny Reid, the song finds him basking in positivity and feel-good warmth with a fusion of country and reggae sounds offering a dose of sonic Vitamin D to match his Hawaiian home. Listen to “Sunshine” HERE.

At just 18-years old when he auditioned for Idol, the Hawaiian born singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist won hearts around the world and brought Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan, to tears with his emotional performance of James Blunt's "Monsters," dedicated to his father Rodney who had recently passed away - watch it HERE. The audition went on to become the most watched on the show’s YouTube with 37 million views. Tongi became the first Pacific Islander to win the series and went on to earn his first Billboard No. 1 on the Rock Digital Songs Sales Chart after releasing his debut single, "I'll Be Seeing You"

Tongi is set to make his Grand Ole Opry debut on June 11. He is currently on the road with dates across the U.S. through the summer and fall including several dates as support for Hawaiian singer-songwriter Maoli on his Last Sip of Summer Tour as well as Kolohe Kai’s What Aloha Means Tour. SHADOW OF INTENT Drop New Single & Music Video "Mechanical Chaos"

With just weeks to go before the release of their most ambitious album yet, Shadow of Intent drop “Mechanical Chaos,” the fourth single from upcoming new album Imperium Delirium, out June 27 via Blood Blast Distribution. Watch the official music video below and pre-order the album or stream the new track here.

Driven by an unrelenting barrage of dissonant riffing, symphonic unease, and unflinching lyrical focus, “Mechanical Chaos” is the band at their most sonically and ideologically severe. Vocalist Ben Duerr offers the following statement:

“Mechanical Chaos was written to confront the cold, dehumanized reality of modern warfare—one increasingly shaped by the rise of drone technology. As unmanned systems redefine the battlefield, we find ourselves at a crossroads of power, ethics, and consequence. They have become the equalizer of nations. But with this shift comes a new era of destruction—one marked not by strategy, but saturation. The result is a battlefield soaked in attrition, where both sides bleed endlessly and blindly. Mechanical Chaos doesn’t celebrate this evolution—it laments it. It’s a cry against the dehumanization of war, where soldiers are reduced to dots on a screen, and civilians caught in the crossfire become collateral in a game of endurance.

The future hinted at in our music is not distant—it’s already unfolding. This song is for the forgotten, the vaporized, and the haunted—those left beneath the specters above.”

Lyrically and thematically, Imperium Delirium continues Shadow of Intent’s descent into the real-world horrors that define our past and foreshadow our future. From mythic allegory to modern bloodshed, the band’s subject matter confronts the sickness of empires, the seduction of violence, and the machinery of death that fuels it all. As always, the sound is enormous—melding symphonic grandeur, blackened melody, razor-sharp technicality, and punishing breakdowns into a style that remains utterly their own. The three previously released singles from the album - 2024's "Flying The Black Flag", "Feeding The Meatgrinder" feat Corpsegrinder and "Infinity of Horrors" have clocked up 1.4 million views on Youtube and 4 million streams on Spotify alone.

Since their formation in 2014, Shadow of Intent have garnered a reputation for crafting mind-blowingly technical, prog tinged symphonic deathcore. Widely acknowledged as one of the forerunners of the current deathcore renaissance, the band's debut album 'Primordial' was named as one of Revolver Magazine's '15 Essential Deathcore Albums', with Metal Sucks giving their 2019 album 'Melancholy' a perfect 5/5 review, stating "you can expect Shadow of Intent to send echoes across metal for as long as they feel like making music". To date, they amassed over 203 million streams, 64 million YouTube Views and have 460,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

Following the album release, the band will hit the road this fall with Lorna Shore, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Enterprise Earth for one of the year’s most anticipated deathcore tours. Full dates below with tickets available HERE

PARADISE LOST PREPARE FOR 'ASCENSION'; NEW ALBUM OUT SEP 19TH

Icons of goth and doom, PARADISE LOST will release their long-awaited, 17th album Ascensionon September 19th with Nuclear Blast Records. The band’s first album in 5 years, following 2020’s critically acclaimed Obsidian, was produced by guitarist Gregor Mackintosh and mixed/mastered by Lawrence Mackrory. Ascension is a testament to the band’s longevity and relevance over their 35+ year career, encompassing their signature styles of gothic, death and doom fans have cherished along the way.

Ascension’s album cover fittingly features the painting The Court of Death (1870-1902) by renowned British artist George Frederic Watts, which hangs in the Tate Gallery in London. The painting depicts Death as an enthroned angel flanked by allegorical figures of Silence and Mystery guarding sunrise and the star of hope, while a warrior surrenders his sword and a duke his coronet, showing that worldly status offers no protection. The painting’s bleak, prophetic vision embodies Ascension’s dark, tormented soundscapes as mournful verses collide with dire, foreboding riffs.

Commenting on the record, vocalist Nick Holmes says:

"Ascension is a cavalcade of molten misery, a vigorous sorrow filled stroll through a wicked world of glorious triumph and pitiful tragedy."

Today, PARADISE LOST offer a glimpse into their melancholic masterpiece with the record’s first single and music video, ‘Silence Like The Grave.’

About PARADISE LOST:

More than three decades into their career, and with over two million albums sold, PARADISE LOST remain the undisputed kings of metal’s dark side. Formed in Halifax in 1988, the band quickly became noted as the pioneers of gothic metal through their early groundbreaking albums like 1991’s aptly-titled Gothic, a mixture of heaviness intertwined with shadowy melody and atmosphere.

Never a group to remain creatively static, across their career they’ve explored a myriad of avenues of dark music, from sludgy doom-death roots, to conquering the metal mainstream with the enormous, lush sounds of 1995’s Draconian Times, to more experimental, electronic leanings, leaving an influence on a trail of artists as varied as CRADLE OF FILTH, HIM, GATECREEPER and CHELSEA WOLFE.

Now, in 2025, the Yorkshire quintet return with their staggering 17th album, Ascension, a record that sees their crown continue to gleam as it underlines just how they attained their position. Produced by guitarist Gregor Mackintosh at Black Planet studios in East Yorkshire, with drums and vocals captured at NBS and Wasteland studios in Sweden, its 10 tracks traverse the multitude of sounds in the band’s arsenal, from full-bore heavy metal to sky-high melody, all the while keeping a minor-key melancholy that remains irresistible.

Creeper Tease Next Era With "Headstones" Video — WATCH // New Album "Sanguivore II: Mistress of Death" Coming Soon

May 30 saw CREEPER bring the curtain down on the critically-acclaimedSANGUIVORE era with a phenomenal performance of the album at a sold-out, intimate KOKO show. And, as has become custom in the CREEPER world, they ended this chapter by unveiling a look ahead to their next — this time by introducing a new character, the Mistress of Death, during a vampiric horror short film.

Now, CREEPER take a blood-soaked step towards their new album Sanguivore II: Mistress Of Death (coming later this year) by sharing the new single "HEADSTONES." Watch the video below

"HEADSTONES" sees CREEPER come roaring out of the gate with a whirlwind of classic thrash riffs and pummeling punk rhythms before soaring into a characteristically larger-than-life arena-ready hook. It also brings in exhilarating sonic elements, such as dueling, Judas Priest-style guitar solos from co-founder and lead guitarist Ian Miles and guitarist Lawrie Pattison, while Hannah Hermione brings gothic x gospel vocal harmonies. Its lyrics dive deeper in the band's fascination with vampire mythology, with William Von Ghould's playful innuendo delivering arguably one of the greatest vampire songs ever written.

The track was produced by Tom Dalgety (Ghost, Rammstein, The Damned) who helped CREEPER bring their most theatrical and unhinged excesses to the fore.

William Von Ghould says, "'Headstones' is the first glimpse into Sanguivore II: Mistress of Death. Set in a blood-drenched vision of the 1980s, it follows a vampire rock band on a tour soaked in violence and excess. It features some of our heaviest and most theatrical guitar work yet, echoing Iron Maiden, with Lawrie Pattison and Ian Miles trading solos in the bridge. It's also the fastest single we've released in years.

"Lyrically, it sets the stage for what's to come in the album's narrative, exploring the dark perils of rock 'n' roll, sins of the flesh, and pure evil. This is the band at its most over-the-top and unashamedly dramatic. But as our hero Jim Steinman once said, 'Sometimes going all the way is just the start.'"

The accompanying video for "HEADSTONES" sees CREEPER channel the ferocity and charisma of their renowned live show and also underlines their future festival-headlining potential. William Von Ghould conducts the chaos from center stage, while his bandmates run riot and pyros detonate.

After Kerrang! observed that CREEPER’s KOKO show "evidently attracted the most ardent members of their already deeply devoted fanbase," the band have plenty more to come on the road this year. Their summer festival dates include Bloodstock, Rock am Park/Rock im Ring, and Graspop Metal Meeting. Autumn then brings a UK and European tour as special guests to Ice Nine Kills which culminates at the OVO Arena Wembley on December 12.

Their UK dates are listed below; please see HERE for all international dates.

Since releasing their acclaimed debut(2018), the band have been lauded for their kinetic presence and sound, as well as their vital blend of culturally profound lyricism in both English and te reo Māori, the indigenous language of New Zealand.

With their third full-length album, ALIEN WEAPONRY expand on their hallmark messages of cultural, societal and environmental resilience while delivering their most massive-sounding, focused musical output ever. In the hands of veteran producer/mixer Josh Wilbur (Lamb Of God, Gojira, Megadeth), Te Rā’s gnashing blend of groove, nu, math and thrash metal shines with anthemic choruses and refreshed technical skill. Te Rā is a bold, unwavering cry for a future in which we can all take part in the legacy of peoples like the Māori and others all around us – people who, if they aren’t seen, most certainly need to be heard! Taken as a whole, Te Rā grapples with what it’s like to be caught in the pull of divergent cultures – not just for the descendants of colonized people, but for all of us.

JASON ALDEAN CELEBRATES HIS 30th #1 AT COUNTRY RADIO WITH HIS LATEST SINGLE “WHISKEY DRINK”

GRAMMY nominated entertainer and ACM Artist of the Decade, Jason Aldean lands his 30th #1 at Country Radio via Broken Bow Records this week with his latest single “Whiskey Drink,” featured on his album Highway Desperado. Recently, kicking off his “Full Throttle Tour” with sold out dates at the Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, OH (5/23), Budweiser Stage in Toronto, Canada (5/24) and the Broadview Stage at SPAC in Saratoga Springs, NY (5/25), the country music superstar is bringing his hit packed show to CMA Fest this week in Nashville as he closes out Nissan Stadium on the opening night, Thursday, June 5 before heading back out on the road in July.

With this latest accolade, Jason joins an elite class of entertainers who have logged 30+ #1 hits throughout their career like George Strait, Tim McGraw, Ronnie Milsap, Merle Haggard, Alan Jackson, Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton.

“30 #1s is a huge milestone, and I couldn’t let it go by without thanking the fans, country radio, the songwriters, BMG and the best promo team in the business,” says Jason Aldean. “I appreciate all the support we have gotten from everyone over the last 20 years. And, I don’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon; so, I’m working hard on getting this next round of music out and can’t wait to share it soon.”

“I always say icons come from the fringes and Jason Aldean exemplifies that without question,” says Jon Loba, President, Frontline Recordings, BMG Americas. “When many questioned his music early on, he was uncompromising and in the process, added an entirely new sound to the genre that many tried to chase, but none could replicate.  Today, he registers his 30th #1, while continuing to sell out arenas and amphitheaters. We at BMG look forward to him shaping the sound of Country music for years to come.”

“Darius And Friends” Brings Together Tyler Braden, Luke Bryan, Kashus Culpepper, Lanie Gardner, Morgan Wallen & Austin Williams for St. Jude

Nearly two decades after first visiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® where he was immediately inspired to pledge his support, three-time GRAMMY Award-winner Darius Rucker continues to give back. With this year’s 16th annual “Darius and Friends” benefit concert sold out well in advance despite the surprise guests not being revealed until they took the stage, the unofficial kickoff to CMA Fest featured dozens of hit songs, unreleased music and beloved covers by Rucker and his friends Tyler Braden, Luke Bryan, Kashus Culpepper, Lanie Gardner, Morgan Wallen and Austin Williams.

“Every time I visit St. Jude, I’m blown away. You walk in expecting it to feel heavy, but there’s so much joy, so much hope,” shared Rucker following the event yesterday, June 2. “The work they’re doing – the research, the breakthroughs – it’s incredible. But what gets me every time is knowing that families never get a bill. Not for treatment, travel, housing or food. That kind of support changes everything for these families, and I’m proud that me and my friends here tonight can be part of that.”

After a live auction and donation round which added thousands to the night’s fundraising tally, Rucker kicked off the main event with a newly written song plus a duo of fan favorite hits; his 10th and most recent No. 1 single “Beers and Sunshine” plus “Radio.” He then introduced the first friend of the evening, with rising star Austin Williams – who will join Rucker on tour this fall – taking the stage to perform his popular “90s Rap Mashup” as well as his latest single, “Crazy Over You.”

Recent Billboard Country Rookie of the Month Kashus Culpepper – also set to tour with Rucker this fall – received a standing ovation from the packed house for a set featuring his own “Southern Man” and “Pour Me Out” as well as a rousing cover of The Marshall Tucker Band’s “Can’t You See.” Appalachian singer-songwriter Lanie Gardner added heartfelt performances of “Six Feet Deep” and “Cry” as well as “Takin’ The Slow Ride” off her forthcoming EP Polaroids arriving this Friday, June 6.

As is customary at the annual event, Rucker also returned to the stage between each guest set, treating fans to hits ranging from his Country Airplay No. 1s “Alright,” “For The First Time” and “Come Back Song” to unreleased previews plus Hootie & the Blowfish hits “Hold My Hand” and “Only Wanna Be With You.”

“If you guys will let us,” the multi-genre star said mid-way through the evening, “me and the band would like to take us to a place we like to call the ‘90s,” as he branched out from his own catalog for crowd-pleasing covers of Tim McGraw’s “I Like It, I Love It,” TLC’s “Waterfalls” and Bell Biv DeVoe's “Poison,” also adding his take on “Valerie” as made popular by Amy Winehouse later in the evening.

Country-rock standout Tyler Braden – another of Rucker’s tourmates this fall – added to the festivities with Platinum-certified breakout “Devil You Know” and the introspective “Right on Track” off his recent full-length debut devil and a prayer, plus his take on Kings of Leon’s hit “Sex on Fire.” Rucker’s longtime friend and three-time Academy of Country Music / two-time Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan also brought the audience to their feet with his No. 1 hits “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day” and “Play It Again” as well as “Country Song Came On,” with his tour of the same name underway now.

“We’ve hosted a charity event at my house for 5 years, and Darius Rucker – I don’t think he’s ever missed one of them,” Bryan shared from the stage. “He’s always supported me when I needed him, and I’m just glad to be here supporting him… 16 YEARS!”

The final guest of the evening gave fans at the Mother Church a rare chance to see him outside of a stadium setting, with global superstar Morgan Wallen bringing recent release “20 Cigarettes” and 6x Platinum “More Than My Hometown” to the intimate venue at a time when all 37 tracks off his latest record-shattering album, I’m The Problem, appear on the Hot Country Songs chart, occupying nearly 75% of the list in its entirety and beating his own record of 35 songs set in 2023.

“I met this kid 5 or 6 years ago at a friend’s house, and he was playing songs that blew my mind. He’s become a superstar. He’s a good friend of mine; he’s my brother,” Rucker shared when introducing Wallen, who added, “It’s an honor and a privilege to be here tonight… Thank you, Darius, for having us.”

Closing out the memorable evening, the host of the night owned the stage one final time as the show ended according to tradition, with Rucker joined by the sold-out Ryman crowd plus Culpepper, Gardner and Williams for a “Wagon Wheel” singalong, the feel-good energy throughout the auditorium symbolic of the night as a whole.

This year’s milestone fundraising event adds yet another successful page to the decade-plus history of “Darius and Friends.” Prior guests have included Lauren Alaina, Jason Aldean, Brooks & Dunn, Brothers Osborne, Kane Brown, Luke Combs, Sheryl Crow, John Daly, Dan + Shay, Vince Gill, Jamey Johnson, Jelly Roll, Charles Kelley of Lady A, Ashley McBryde, A.J. McLean of the Backstreet Boys, Megan Moroney, Brad Paisley, Kenny Rogers and Tommy Thayer of KISS, among many others.

In addition to yesterday evening’s concert, celebrity friends Drew Baldridge, Priscilla Block, Tyler Braden, NFL Pro Bowler Randall Cobb, Travis Denning, Hannah Ellis, Walker Hayes, NSYNC’s Chris Kirkpatrick, Tracy Lawrence, Bryce Leatherwood, Vincent Mason, Drake Milligan, Walker Montgomery, John Morgan, Dan + Shay’s Shay Mooney, Restless Road’s Garrett Nichols & Colton Pack, Eric Paslay, Shane Profitt, Michael Ray, Lily Rose, Schmitty, Matt Stell, Nick Wayne, Mark Wills and Scott Wolverton joined Rucker for the corresponding golf tournament today, June 3, with the total raised across both events adding to the more than $4.3 million raised to date (2025 tally to follow once available).

The annual fundraising event, made possible with support from generous sponsors AMD and The Law Office of Jennifer McCoy, helps ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – so they can focus on helping their child live.

This year’s “Darius and Friends” event adds to an exciting season for the multi-time Diamond-certified superstar, who is actively working on new music ahead of his Nissan Stadium CMA Fest performance this Thursday, June 5, and his Darius Rucker Live tour kicking off in July.
