American Idol Winner Iam Tongi Brings the 'Sunshine' with New Track

“American Idol” Season 21 winner and Hawaii native, Iam Tongi, releases new track, “Sunshine,” today via 19 Recordings ahead of Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Written by Tongi along with Tyler Cain and Johnny Reid, the song finds Tongi basking in positivity and feel-good warmth with a fusion of country and reggae sounds offering a dose of sonic Vitamin D to match his Hawaiian home. Listen to “Sunshine” HERE.

Recorded in Nashville at Soultrain Sound Studios, Tongi says of the song, “Even though I just turned 20, I’ve had to face some pretty difficult times in my life. When I lost my dad a few years ago, it made me realize how short life is. It also made me take stock of what really matters. My mom is my biggest hero and inspiration, and she has always pushed me to be kind, work hard and be a better version of myself, no matter what.”

Tongi continues, “I wrote ‘Sunshine’ because I wanted to spread love, light and positivity to the world. Even when times are tough, you can find goodness around you.”

At just 18-years old when he auditioned, the Hawaiian born singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist won hearts around the world and brought Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan, to tears with his emotional performance of James Blunt's "Monsters," dedicated to his father Rodney who had recently passed away - watch it HERE. The audition went on to become the most watched on the show’s YouTube with 36 million views. Tongi became the first Pacific Islander to win the series and went on to earn his first Billboard No. 1 on the Rock Digital Songs Sales Chart after releasing his debut single, "I'll Be Seeing You"

Tongi is set to make his CMA Fest debut June 5 on the Dr Pepper Amp Stage as well as his Grand Ole Opry debut on June 11. He is currently on the road with dates across the U.S. through the summer and fall with more to be announced soon. Archers Release New Single "Better Off" via SBG Records

Wisconsin metalcore powerhouse ARCHERS have just dropped their latest single, “Better Off,” now available on all streaming platforms. Known for their intense energy, emotionally charged lyrics, and uncompromising sound, ARCHERS continue their rise in the modern metalcore landscape with this hard-hitting new release.

"'Better Off' is about breaking free from a manipulative relationship and having the courage to set and enforce personal boundaries even when it’s uncomfortable,"says the band.

“Better Off” is the lead single from their upcoming EP, Temporary High, due out June 13 via SBG Records. Produced by Matt Good (Hollywood Undead, Sleeping With Sirens), the band’s fourth EP showcases ARCHERS' evolving sound—a bold blend of blistering metalcore aggression and catchy, high-energy pop dynamics.

The band states, "Temporary High is all about finding catharsis. It’s about breaking free from toxic cycles and finding value in oneself apart from anyone or anything that would try to usurp one’s own identity."

ARCHERS combine massive melodies and crushing heaviness with unrivaled passion and precision. The music of the Midwestern quartet connects deeply via confessional tales of broken hearts and mental anguish, building an intimate sense of community with outsiders from all corners of the world.

After years of honing their craft on the road, at major rock festivals and touring alongside bands such as Asking Alexandria, Catch Your Breath, From Ashes to New, Magnolia Park and Imminence, the band has developed a knack for delivering high octane, head turning performances that resonate with
their fans while continuing to win over a dedicated army of new fans with each performance.

The Wisconsin band’s momentum is a testament to the strength of its soaring songs and magnetic live performances. Its fourth EP, Temporary High, was produced by Matt Good (Hollywood Undead, Sleeping With Sirens) and blends energetic pop and visceral metalcore into an evocative sound.

Engaging frontman Nathanael Pulley and dynamic guitarist Ben Koehler first came together under the Archers banner in 2015, with the later addition of funk and R&B-loving bassist and vocalist Oscar Porter and hard rock-weaned drummer Grayson Mesarosh crystalizing the band’s definitive line-up.
Each of the four came into heavy music via different gateways, from a mixture of metalcore and melodic rock bands as diverse as the Vans Warped Tour line-up, from pop-punk hooks to devastating breakdowns.

Determination, passion, and authenticity are the beating heart of Archers. Even as Archers’ mission expands worldwide, the quartet is determined to remain true to themselves. This is evident to their most diehard fans, and it is precisely why what they are doing connects so profoundly.

Whiskey Myers Bring the 'Thunder' with New Album Due Sept. 26; Lead Single "Time Bomb" Out Now

With cryptic videos sending fans into a frenzy to catch hidden clues and uncover their meaning, Whiskey Myers now officially confirm details of a new album on the way. The genre-defying six piece is back and bolder than ever with Whomp Whack Thunder, their highly anticipated seventh studio album set to release Sept. 26 via the band’s own Wiggy Thump Records. Channeling the spirit of classic rock through a modern Southern lens – roaring guitars, thunderous drums and lyrics that cut deep – the album is available to pre-order/pre-save HERE.

Born from the piney woods of East Texas and shaped in the soul of Nashville during an immersive three weeks with renowned producer Jay Joyce – known for bringing edge, atmosphere and unpredictability to every project (Eric Church, Cage the Elephant, Halestorm, Lainey Wilson) – Whomp Whack Thunder is a strong statement from the multi-Platinum independent band.

A raw, hard-hitting preview arrives today, April 23, with lead single “Time Bomb,” capturing the energy of a band pushing boundaries without losing their roots. Listen HERE ahead of the song’s live debut at Stagecoach this Friday, April 25, offering a first glimpse at what promises to be one of the most dynamic records in Whiskey Myers’ catalog.

“We didn’t set out to chase a specific sound—we set out to make a Whiskey Myers record,” reflects lead guitarist John Jeffers. “Jay pulled something out of us that’s raw and real, and every track’s got a piece of our story in it. This album’s about where we’ve been, what we’ve lived and the scars we earned along the way – and I think Whomp Whack Thunder might just be our most fearless album yet.”

Whomp Whack Thunder is the sound of a band at the height of its powers, marrying Southern swagger with arena-sized rock and soul-searching songwriting. Frontman Cody Cannon penned all eleven tracks solo, delivering stories that hit with the emotional weight of lived experience and the firepower of their signature sound. From the breakneck energy of “Tailspin” to the introspective grit of “Icarus” and the raucous stomp of “Ramblin’ Jones,” it’s a record born of the road and shaped by nearly two decades of defiant, grassroots momentum.

The album features the full force of the band – Cannon (vocals, guitar), Jeffers (guitar), Cody Tate (guitar), Jamey Gleaves (bass), Jeff Hogg (drums) and Tony Kent (percussion, piano) – with Joyce also contributing keys, organ and guitar, crafting a sonic landscape that stretches from greasy blues-rock riffs to gospel-tinged country soul.

Ahead of the fall release, fans can catch early previews of the new music on the What We Were Born To Do Tour, kicking off June 6 and hitting cities across the U.S. throughout the summer. Whiskey Myers also co-headlines 14 dates of the Live in 25 Tour with Tedeschi Trucks Band later this year in addition to headlining their own personally curated festivals; the seventh annual Wiggy Thump Festival on May 10 in their hometown of Palestine, Texas and the inaugural Moon Crush “Whiskey Moon” music vacation taking over Miramar Beach, Fla. Nov. 7-9.

The Lion's Daughter Announce Farewell Show

Whether it was a Dog Shaped Man, the Midnight Animal or a hospital run by werewolves, not even the most nightmarish creatures could tame The Lion's Daughter. What began in the mid-2010s as a horror-stricken, blackened and sludgy trio rabidly evolved into a frightening, futuristic, synth-metal foursome.

Now, after two decades and five skin-tillating albums, The Lion's Daughter are going out on their own terms.

"Bands are not supposed to last forever", says guitarist, synth player and vocalist Rick Giordano. "It's been 18 goddamn years. We've done every single thing we ever set out to do. Each of us will continue to play music (and more than likely with each other), but this thing called The Lion's Daughter...well, we did that already.

"Some bands don't know when to quit, and we don't want to be one of those bands", Rick continues. "Instead of trudging along for another X amount of years, we'd rather go out with a bang and play one last show with our friends! And we're going to donate every dime from that show to Stray Rescue. Hating people and loving dogs has always kinda been our thing".

The Lion's Daughter will play their final show on June 21 in the band's hometown of St. Louis, Missouri at Off Broadway. They'll be joined by local doomsayers Fister, the recently reunited Sine Nomine, mighty progressive sludgers Path of Might, and freshly blackened death metal band Furnace Floor. All proceeds from the show will benefit Stray Rescue of St. Louis.

"This isn't a sad thing", Rick emphasizes. "Bands SHOULD end, and we're raising money for pups".

Newly Independent Electro Rock Duo WARGASM Drop "Vigilantes" Video — WATCH // Band Announces Headline North American Tour

Riotous and incendiary UK duo WARGASM, who make angry music for sad people, are back and they've upped the f**king ante. Today, they drop the video for their new single "Vigilantes," the first taste of music as an independent entity once again. Get ready for this one to register on the Richter scale.

Watch it Below:

It's all fists, all fury, complete with synths, rhythmic bounce and groove, and raging riffs. Basically, "Vigilantes" is the sort of signature electro-tinged, metallic anthem that the band is known for crafting. Wargasm haven't simply been turning heads for years — they have been ripping 'em clean off your neck.

The track will leave you in a heap, gasping for breath, once the final note fades out. And then you'll get up, hit the replay button, and do it all over again.

"Months and months of turmoil, love, hate, and passion has gone into 'Vigilantes,'" shares the band. "We have waited so long to release this for you and with it, Wargasm are excited to be an unsigned band again. This is turbulence bottled, shaken, and injected right into your ear drums. Everything about Wargasm is energy. We hope you feel something."

Yes, that's correct. Wargasm, who were tipped by NME as "a total riot," labeled by Everything Is Noise as "brutally efficient at utilizing an array of sounds and tones to build a playground of blood, rust, and debauchery" and hailed by Kerrang!for their "glossy, sexy, action movie kind of violence,"  are once again fully independent and they continue to do things THEIR way.

Wargasm — comprised of Sam Matlock and Milkie Way — also announced their first-ever headline tour of the U.S. Tickets go on sale on Friday, April 25 at 10am local time. Get tickets here. Dates are below.

WARGASM ON TOUR:
8/31 — Pryor, OK
9/2 — Denton, TX
9/3 — Austin, TX
9/5 — Mesa, AZ
9/6 — Los Angeles, CA
9/7 — San Francisco, CA

About WARGASM:
WARGASM are the climax of an orgy between heavy metal, electronic, rave, alternative, and industrial powered up by the friction of two gleefully insane creative insurgents Milkie Way and Sam Matlock. They honed a vital and visceral vision across early bangers such as "Spit.," 'Rage All Over," "Salma Hayek," and "Scratchcard Feeling," paving the way for 2022's EXPLICIT: THE MIXXXTAPE. Beyond reeling in over 10 million streams and counting, the latter incited the applause of PAPER, Revolver, and more, as well as earning the endorsement of icons such as Jonathan Davis of Korn and Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit who personally tapped the band to open a 2022 North American arena tour. They stand out the rare force of nature who could hold their own on tour with either YUNGBLUD or Corey Taylor of Slipknot. Plus, they've graced the covers of Alternative Press and KERRANG! in addition to garnering the first-ever "New Noise Award" at the 2022 KERRANG! Awards. However, everything simply set the stage for their 2023 full-length debut album, VENOM. The duo deliver a shockingly catchy blast of horny and hypnotic heavy music as unpredictable as it is uncompromising. Its lineage can be traced to the big-screen genre mashing of the nineties, yet it’s spiked with a 21st century fury that could only belong to WARGASM. You've been warned by singles "Bang Ya Head" [Feat. Fred Durst] and "Do It So Good." Rock music won't be the same, and thank FUCKING God for that.

Hall of Fame Singer/Songwriter Daryl Hall Set for U.S., U.K. Dates with Squeeze’s Glenn Tilbrook

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Daryl Hall just added a west coast run featuring opening act Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze starting October 19th in Reno, NV and ending November 4th in Denver, CO. See full tour dates below.

Tilbrook has previously performed with Hall on his award-winning web series, Live from Daryl’s House. “I’ve toured with Glenn in the past, and I’m a fan of his songs, and it will be great to work with him again,” said Daryl, whose previous tours included acts Howard Jones, Elvis Costello and Todd Rundgren. The format is the same, with Tilbrook performing a solo set in front of the house band to open, then joining Daryl Hall on-stage to close the show.

Added Tilbrook, “I am so excited to be playing with Daryl and his fabulous band this year. After having a blast touring with them in 2021, and re-igniting the flame in Daryl’s House in 2023, I look forward to reuniting with them and playing some of my favorite songs, Daryl songs and some other stuff that you’ll love! Come down and don’t break the furniture.”

The tour’s next leg brings them to the U.K. May 17th for dates in Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester and Brighton, as well as the May 19th show at the Royal Albert Hall in London, which will represent Daryl’s first-ever solo performance there.

Last year, Hall also toured with Elvis Costello, and released D, his first solo album in 13 years, co-produced by fellow RHOF inductee Dave Stewart, who co-wrote seven of the nine new original songs, with Hall penning the other two, on Virgin Records. The album spawned two top 20 hits on the AC Chart.

ABOUT WE CAME AS ROMANS

We Came As Romans continue to progress and evolve at lightspeed, maintaining a place at the forefront of heavy music and culture. Never content to follow, they seamlessly alchemize crushing groove-driven catharsis, spacey electronics, and arena-size singalongs into a sound that refuses to sit still—effortlessly moving between metal, alternative, hardcore, and rock.

The Michigan-born five-piece—Dave StephensJoshua MooreLou CottonAndy Glass, and David Puckett—first broke through with Tracing Back Roots (2013), which cracked the Billboard 200 Top 10 and hit #1 on both the Independent Albums and Top Hard Rock Albums charts. Their self-titled 2015 album followed, debuting at #11 on the Billboard 200, cementing their status as modern metalcore royalty.

Following the tragic loss of original vocalist Kyle Pavone in 2018, the band has continued to honor his legacy with their 2022 album, Darkbloom, their highest-praised record to date. Kerrang! awarded it 4 out of 5 stars, calling it “a carrier for a knot of emotion, and a tribute to their friend.” It featured career-defining tracks like “Black Hole” (ft. Caleb Shomo), now over 102 million Spotify streams, and “Daggers” (ft. Zero 9:36), which surpassed 32 million streams. Media outlets including Loudwire and Consequence praised the album for its emotional range, sonic heft, and unapologetic vulnerability.

Bad Luck” is the next step in their journey—an anthem born of loss, scars, heart, and unrelenting drive.

Teen Metal Band Chained Saint Announce First-Ever Tour

Teen metal band CHAINED SAINT — comprised of four high school students Ethan Kahn (17, guitar), Sebastian De Avila (18, bass), Cameron Cottrell (19, drums) and Sean Sterling (18, vocals) — were one of the most hotly tipped bands of 2024. In just a few short months, Revolver, Guitar World, Loudwire, and Judas Priest legend Rob Halford praised the band for their chops. SiriusXM's Liquid Metal added the band to their playlist, and their debut single "Animosity" served as the theme song for the WWE 2K24 DLC 4 trailer in September.

The band is over the moon to announce its upcoming, first-ever headline tour of the U.S.

Chained Saint will also appear at several festivals through the year, including Welcome to Rockville, Rocklahoma, Louder Than Life, and VANS Warped Tour.

All upcoming dates, including a support slots for Alice In Chains, are below. Tickets go on sale on Friday, April 25 at 10am local time. Pre-sale starts tomorrow, Wednesday, April 23 at 10am local time. Get tickets here.

"We cannot wait to get on the road and play in all of these great cities around the country," the band says with a twinkle in its collective eye. "This is what it's all about for us. Bringing our music to the people and having that direct connection with our fans, as well as making new ones city by city, by playing our songs live, is what we've been dreaming of!"

Born in a South Florida garage back in the summer of 2022, Chained Saint's recently released debut album, Blindside (out via independent label Patriark Records) combines the raw, organic riffery of the best old-school '80s thrash metal with a dash of modern-day brutality befitting the many challenges confronting the youth of 2024. The past and present collide, resulting in modern, metallic maelstrom made by a bunch of kids who play with fire in their veins — and their hands! Blindside, produced by William DuVall of Alice In Chains, focuses that fury into a powerfully concise, eight-song LP. The album was recorded and mixed to analog tape with no computers involved whatsoever in the recording sessions. No AI. No studio trickery. No bullshit. Just real riffs made by real players.

Rick Wakeman, featuring the vocals of Hayley Sanderson brings an all new show to the U.S. this Summer

In the last five years or so, keyboard maestro, composer and raconteur Rick Wakeman CBE has entertained audiences around the US with his brilliant and witty one-man shows, featuring solo performances of his work with YES, his own compositions and some surprise adaptations of other musicians’ material.

However, in July, his STRICTLY WAKEMAN tour will present a new show unlike any of his previous appearances. For the first time ever, Rick will be joining forces with a female singer – Hayley Sanderson, well-known for her work as one of the leading vocalists on the UK’s Strictly Come Dancing TV show – to present a series of concerts featuring music specially adapted for piano and vocals.

Rick and Hayley have been working together for several years. He accompanied her on her 2009 album, Just Songs, and impressed by her vocal versatility and clarity, subsequently invited her to sing lead vocals on a number of his shows for band (and sometimes, orchestra) in the UK and South America, at prestigious venues like the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall and the O2 Arena. Her awesome vocals also feature on the definitive Live At The London Palladium box set, recorded when Rick led his band through The Six Wives Of Henry VIII, The Myths And Legends Of King Arthur And The Knights Of The Round Table, Journey To The Centre Of The Earth and a set of YES classics, over two magical nights in 2023, and on his studio album, A Gallery Of The Imagination. Rick was also the person to give her the affectionate nickname ‘Strictly’!

Rick Wakeman needs no introduction. His 50-plus year career started as a much-in- demand session pianist and keyboard player, who performed his own arrangements on many classic records by the likes of David Bowie, Cat Stevens and Elton John. After a brief sojourn in the Strawbs, he joined YES and remained a member throughout their most productive period when they became the most successful progressive rock band in the world. After leaving YES, he acquired legendary status by writing and recording groundbreaking concept albums on a grand scale, but is equally at home performing solo on a Steinway grand piano. His record of being the only pianist to have two solo instrumental albums (Piano Portraits and Piano Odyssey) enter the UK charts in the Top 10 on release remains unbroken. While respecting his own musical history, Rick is always looking for ways to refresh, update and extend his legacy. “Hayley is great to work with, as she has the talent to feel the music in such a way as to make all the arrangements seamless,” he comments. “Hayley and I have never worked in concert with just the piano and voice, and so it opens up opportunities for new arrangements of pieces from rare albums, like Make Me A Woman from the Time Machine album, and Julia and The Hymn from 1984.”

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to witness Rick’s latest creative explorations in the company of Hayley Sanderson!

IMMINENT SONIC DESTRUCTION (ISD), hailing from Metro Detroit, have carved out their niche in the metal world with their signature Progressive Super Metal sound. Since their debut album 'Recurring Themes' (2012), produced by Roy Z, the band has toured with the likes of Pain of Salvation, Kingcrow, Fates Warning, and Circus Maximus, steadily building their reputation.

After their critically acclaimed concept album 'Triumphia' and their emotional third release 'The Sun Will Always Set', ISD are set to return in 2025 with their fourth album, 'Floodgate', once again produced by Nick Hagen. 'Floodgate' promises a dynamic mix of concise, heavy, and epic tracks, rich with vocal harmonies and standout performances from every member. This album pushes the band’s progressive metal songwriting even further, marking another milestone in their evolution.

About the album, Piccoli states:

Wind Walkers Drop New Track "The End Aesthetic" + Official Music Video With New Record Label Home Fearless Records

It's a great day to be a Wind Walkers fan! Today, the genre-blending metalcore powerhouse made their triumphant return with their new single "The End Aesthetic" (produced by Nick Matzkows and Jon Eberhard) and the official music video. Furthermore, Wind Walkers announced signing with their new label home, Fearless Records. When asked about the inspiration behind today's track, the band shared:

I think that lyrically this song ended up being a lot more self-observant than I had intended it to be. I started with the chorus which is more of an outward projection, expressing the feeling that everyone is hiding something about themselves. Whether that be hidden anxieties, fears, or vices. As I wrote more, this song kind evolved into something that looked more inward. It talks about my own issues with numbing to distract myself from how sick the world is and asks the question, “Was our environment designed to make us feel this way?
