'A Mind Short Circuiting' embodies the essence of our roots. The combination of ethereal melodies with down-tuned guitars has helped inspire lyrics that evoke darker emotions. We are sure that our OG fans will appreciate this one.

Prior to today, the band dropped "Torchbearer", the first single and music video since the release of their smash-hit 2021 album 'Angel or Alien'. Stream "A Mind Short Circuiting" here, and watch the visualizer below.

North American fans have their chance to see the band's incredible live show on the upcoming Angels & Villains Tour, co-headlining with Attila and with Traitors, Extortionist, and Not Enough Space as support. The Damned Announce May + June USA Tour With The Return Of Rat Scabies!

THE DAMNED ANNOUNCE USA TOUR WITH THE RETURN OF RAT SCABIES FOR MAY + JUNE 2024

TICKETS GO ON SALE FRIDAY MARCH 1

Today, music pioneers The Damned announce a 10-date, USA tour for May and June 2024, bringing their '80s line-up back together with the return of Rat Scabies for the first time in America in 35 years!

David Vanian, Captain Sensible, Rat Scabies, and Paul Gray will play shows across the USA, the first time this line-up has played together since 1989. The band will open in Toronto and finish up at Portland. Tickets go on general sale on Friday, March 1.

This tour welcomes Rat Scabies back to the stage, who has rejoined the band for tours, festivals, and more in 2024. One of the original founding members, The Damned drummer Scabies puts it simply — ‘"Be careful what you wish for.’"

Revisiting the music from their '80s line-up, audiences can expect songs from Machine Gun Etiquette, The Black Album, and Strawberries, as well as The Damned fan-favorite tracks like "Neat Neat Neat," "‘New Rose," and more.

47 years after releasing their groundbreaking debut, Damned Damned Damned, The Damned released their twelfth studio album Darkadelic earlier this year, reaching the Top 10 in the UK Albums Chart.

ABOUT THE DAMNED:
Following their formation in 1976, The Damned became the first UK punk band to officially release a single, "New Rose," and an album Damned Damned Damned. With 12 studio albums and several UK chart singles, the band is a pioneer who emerged from the London punk scene, earning an ever-expanding fan base fuelled by legendary live shows. Their dark lyrics and Dave Vanian's rich baritone vocals also catapulted The Damned to the forefront of the Goth-Rock Genre. The Damned of today defy any categorisation and the ease of which songs from all phases of their career fit together in this ground-breaking spectacle is absolute proof.

Monty Oxymoron — Keyboards

WHITE METAL TRAILBLAZERS WHITECROSS RETURN WITH “FEAR NO EVIL”

One of the first-ever Christian hard rock/metal bands is the Illinois-based, Whitecross. The band started in the early ‘80s, touring steadily from 1988 to 1994 and averaging 150 performances per year. The Dove Awards recognized Whitecross three times: twice for Metal Album of the Year, and once for Hard Music Recorded Song of the Year. In the process, Whitecross helped forge the style now widely known as “white metal.”

Now the band – singer Dave Roberts, guitarist Rex Carroll, bassist Benny Ramos, and drummer Michael Feighan – is back with a brand new album. Produced by Rex Carroll, “Fear No Evil” arrives on March 22nd via Dark Star Records and can be pre-ordered here: https://www.integralmerchservices.com/whitecrosspre-order

“‘Fear No Evil’ is the first studio album that Rex has had total artistic control of from beginning to end, including the writing, recording, mixing, mastering, and release,” explains the album's Executive Producer, Susan Smith. “Every previous album has at least one song that Rex would have done differently. Rex never relinquished the right to include a guitar solo and finds it a personal challenge to match the success of ‘Nagasake.’ This album has grown with the influence of Dave Roberts, and while keeping the original heavy rock and roll heart and soul of the first release, adds a nuanced nod to classic bands of the ‘60s and ‘70s.”

Concerning standout tunes from the album, all four members have their particular selections but seem to agree on the beautifully orchestrated power ballad “Wishing Well,” which invokes The Beatles and The Moody Blues. The acoustic ballad entitled “Blind Man” has a “Led Zeppelin feel,” according to Feighan, and of course, there are the expected rockin' tunes in the Whitecross tradition. One of these is the album's first video – the title track – debuted on a three-song demo of Rex and Dave getting a feel for the project. Feighan also adds a disclaimer: “This album is very diverse with songs that have a modern rock touch but still that Whitecross sound that fans know and love.”

And with the band about to hit the road in support of the album, Carroll never forgets how important the band's fans are in the grand scheme of things. “I am continuously reminded every day that it's not about me or the band – it's all about the fans. Many of you have become my good friends via social media, and I'm continuously grateful for your support. You bought the albums and the T-shirts and came to the shows, and I'm grateful for that. Thanks again…follow Jesus!”

As far as how Whitecross's brand of metal fits in with modern-day acts, the guitarist also shared his thoughts. “I follow the muse in my own head. I hear new sounds on the radio, but the songs are still the same as they always were. And by that, I mean new bands pop up on the radio - the sounds are fresh, but it’s the same three chords and it’s the same boy-meets-girl lyrics. Modern sounds and modern production techniques are great, and we have taken full advantage of them on our new album. From a technical standpoint, I believe ‘Fear No Evil’ is the BEST album I’ve ever been involved with. Love the songs, still pushing myself on the guitar, love the sonic blast from Anthony Focx, love the fans, love my band, love all of it.”

And lastly, what are the band's future plans? “Continue to love God, love people, love the band, love the gigs, love to shred until they lay me in the ground in a guitar-shaped casket.”

Archspire will be playing songs off their latest album, Bleed the Future, which is available now.

Archspire are hella famous now. You can find them in the club, popping bottles and showing off their JUNO award.

In true rock star fashion, instead of paying off their massive gambling debts, the Canadian band decided to take everyone's Kickstarter money and record the most disgusting, uproarious, and out-of-this world expensive music video in the history of technical death metal.

Archspire’s 2017 Relentless Mutation was a cavalcade of speed and extremity — blasting, accelerating and, in partial reference to its title, “mutating” as each song unfolded, all the while rapid-fire, shotgun vocals blurred the lines between a man’s throat and additional instrument. It was, unquestionably, an innovation of sound and technique — Archspire had broken the speed barrier while creating songs memorable as they were unabashedly extreme for extreme metal. Thus, the pressure was already there to top Relentless Mutation when the band started to compile new songs in 2018. The global pandemic heightened the situation (read: no touring, expanded free time) and caused Archspire to turn inward and apply additional rigor to their songwriting process, albeit painstakingly so. But by the end of the fraught calendar year that was 2020, the band emerged with their fourth studio album, Bleed the Future.

According to the members of Archspire — vocalist Oli Aleron, guitarists Dean Lamb and Tobi Morelli, bassist Jared Smith and drummer Spencer Prewett — they originally went into the making of Bleed the Future under the idea they would finish the album in between the various tours scheduled for 2020. Of course, none of that happened, prompting the band to do more pre-production than at any time in their career. Archspire then subjected the album’s eight songs to near-constant critiquing that ensured they came away with a product, that in their estimation, is their best to date.

“The benefit we had was that Relentless came out in 2017,” says Lamb. “Since then, we toured more than we ever did before. We had the viewpoint of ‘What do crowds like? What parts should we write more of? What parts do people give us good feedback on?’ We wanted to expand and write those parts more consistently — there are more hooks and when we do have hooks, we wanted to repeat those parts so people will know that this is the catchy part of the song.”

“The most important thing was that we had clever songwriting,” adds Prewett. “We wanted the album to be more accessible to more people but still keep it extreme, fast and technical. So, we changed our process this time. We recorded rehearsal every day and listened to what we did afterward. We’d then come back to the jam spot and change riffs and ideas based on what everyone was thinking about during the week. It resulted in an album that everyone was happier with.”

Archspire also had the stated goal for Bleed the Future that they wanted to get faster. While such a feat may defy reason given their previous output, the band wrote their fastest song to date — the album-closing “AUM,” a cut that opens up with an audio recording of a German friend of Prewett’s who, according to the drummer, enjoys ragging on Archspire. Comedic clips aside, “AUM,” caps off an album that pushes the boundaries of speed but also is textured — Smith’s ethereal basslines often serve as mid-song interludes, while Lamb and Morelli weave melodic, spiraling guitar lines that annihilate the fretboard during “Abandon the Linear,” “Bleed the Future” and “Acrid Canon.” Accordingly, the members of Archspire were keenly aware of the expectations placed upon them after the success of Relentless Mutation. The online comments regarding whether they could top Relentless Mutation was also occasionally on their minds when composing Bleed the Future and prompted the band to ensure that all five members were happy with everything — down to the last riff, vocal line, bass run and drum pattern. “Audience expectation is really important,” says Lamb. “If we leave the jam spot and everyone is stoked on a song, it’s pretty likely that the audience will be stoked. We have the expectation of the audience, but we also have to be pumped on the music. I feel the proudest of the music. We spent more time on the songs and got better at writing. I feel it’s better music.”

“It’s an extremely tedious writing process,” adds Smith. “If anyone isn’t feeling a riff, we scrap it and have to find something we’re all happy with. It can be super-frustrating in the moment, but in the end, we have something better. We want everything we write to be a step up and I think we achieved that with Bleed the Future.”

The album is accompanied by a concept developed by Aleron that begs the question: What happens when humans start giving birth to non-humans? Born from a weird dream the vocalist had, Bleed the Future’s concept does not have finality or a conclusion. It does, however, posit a few ethical dilemmas to ties into Archspire’s long-running science fiction themes.

“I thought about what if those things they were giving birth to could actually benefit them in the future so they wouldn’t want to reject them,” says Aleron. “What would happen to the humans that weren’t born? Would they go to a different dimension? I played with that whole idea because I hadn’t seen a horror movie where that was the theme. It worked for all the songs. The only social commentary is that people don’t know what they’re giving birth to — if you put someone on this planet, you don’t know whether they’re going to be good or evil.”

Bleed the Future was recorded in October and November 2020 at Flatline Audio in Colorado with producer/engineer Dave Otero. This was the second consecutive album the band worked with Otero. According to Morelli, the recording process was seamless. “Dave was already familiar with what we each can do individually,” he says. “This time, he was more prepared to tackle those elements. How he tracks was more focused on what we were capable of and I think it really shows here.”

As live show activity for 2021 hangs in the balance (Archspire currently has dates lined up for November), the pandemic has prompted many bands to re-think their new album release dates as well as how to stay visible in a world currently without touring. But, with a fanbase that has embraced the band’s online presence that includes playthroughs, tutorials and now, cooking shows (!), Archspire heads into the Bleed the Future album cycle the benefactors of their commitment to touring and, most of all, position as one of death metal’s most forward-thinking bands.

“We have a lot of awesome fans, so I think they’ll be there to support us and pick up the album because they like the music,” says Lamb. “We’re a self-managed band; we’ve been working with the same label for ten years and I think the outcome will be good. Would it had been better if we had been on a full North American tour starting a week before the album release? Sure, but I think people will come out and support us through other means. As soon as we’re ready to go back on tour and everybody is safe to do so, we’ll be out there.”

LEGENDARY GUITARIST ULI JON ROTH RETURNS ON TOUR OF NORTH AMERICA WITH INCREDIBLE 3 HOUR EXTRAVAGANZA

Music enthusiasts, get ready for a night of true musical passion and inspiration as legendary guitarist Uli Jon Roth takes us on a 360-degree journey into his unique world of artistic imagination.  Uli Jon Roth is thrilled to announce his exclusive 2024 world tour “INTERSTELLAR SKY GUITAR”.

The 3-hour-plus integrated multi-media show will be split into two parts with an intermission. The first half of the concert will feature a wide gamut of new and old pieces written by Uli Jon Roth, including excerpts from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, and Uli’s Metamorphosis Concerto. It will also include a brief TED Talk by Uli introducing his new book “In Search of the Alpha Law.”

The second part of the concert will accompany the worldwide vinyl release of all three ELECTRIC SUN albums, alongside all 5 ULI-era SCORPIONS albums! This will see Uli perform a breathtaking set with his full band, showcasing songs from each ELECTRIC SUN album, as well as tracks from his time with the SCORPIONS. It's set to be an unforgettable experience for all Uli and ELECTRIC SUN enthusiasts!

Uli Jon Roth’s signature tool of expression is the legendary SKY GUITAR which he invented. The name of the tour, “INTERSTELLAR SKY GUITAR” is  reflecting the fact that we are celebrating 40 years since the first one of these ground-breaking instruments was built. The tonal range of Sky Guitars far exceeds that of traditional guitars, effectively turning the electric guitar into a six-octave instrument as opposed to the three-and-a-half octave ones, which are industry standard. The ingenious, striking, body-shape of Sky Guitars which makes the extra frets possible, enables Uli to equal the registers of the violin and the cello. The main stars of the evening are the state-of-the-art “Excalibur” 7-string Sky Guitar, alongside Uli’s famous “Mighty Wing”.

Don’t miss the chance to experience an evening of true musical passion and inspiration with Uli Jon Roth and his full band!

About Whiskey Myers
Genre-bending band Whiskey Myers have played more than 2,500 live shows to ever-increasing crowd sizes since their emergence in 2007. In addition to headlining their own sold-out shows from coast to coast at iconic venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Ryman Auditorium, plus performing at marquee festivals Bonnaroo, Stagecoach, Download and more, the six-piece was also personally selected to open The Rolling Stones’ Chicago stadium show in 2019. Their latest self-produced album, Tornillo, available everywhere now via the band’s own Wiggy Thump Records, features the No. 17 most-played Americana song of 2022, “John Wayne,” and follows their fifth studio album, Whiskey Myers, which debuted at No. 1 on both the Country and Americana/Folk sales charts, at No. 2 on the Rock chart and No. 6 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart (No. 3 among new releases). In total, Whiskey Myers have sold more than 2 million albums and amassed over 2.8 billion streams while earning six RIAA Gold & Platinum certifications as an independent band. Known for their high-energy live show and unique sound, the band praised by Esquire as “the real damn deal” has also earned sync success with features (and an on-screen appearance) in Paramount’s hit show “Yellowstone” as well as Netflix series “What/If,” Angelina Jolie film “Those Who Wish Me Dead” and CBS series “SEAL Team,” among several others. USA Today describes their sound as “a riff-heavy blend of Southern rock and gritty country that has earned comparisons to the Allman Brothers Band and Led Zeppelin,” with Rolling Stone noting “it’s the seminal combination of twang and crunchy rock & roll guitars that hits a perfect sweet spot.”

LAS VEGAS METALLISTS MADZILLA ISSUE FULL-LENGTH, A DEADLY THREAT, ANNOUNCE SHOWS WITH MAX CAVALERA'S GO AHEAD AND DIE

Officially launching in 2018, Las Vegas based Madzilla LV deliver a hefty mix of melodic, classic thrash-metal, reminiscent of the likes of Megadeth, Metallica and Iron Maiden. And on March 1st, 2024, the band – which is comprised of David Cabezas (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Ian Garcia (Guitar), Daniel Gortaire (Bass/Background Vocals), and Luis Zevallos (Drums) – will issue their full-length album, A Deadly Threat, via Into Records.

A Deadly Threat portrays the extremes to which greed can take a power-hungry mind, and its irreparable consequences. Outlining the inevitable clash between insatiable desire and imminent regret, the album presents a short story that describes the journey, which destruction for the sake of power and glory will inescapably lead to. Intertwined with heavy, fast and aggressive riffs, melodic passages, and immersive harmonies, A Deadly Threat encompasses a large canvas of feelings and emotions.

Sylvaine Releases Title Track Off New EP

On her new EP, Sylvaine traces back to her roots in Norwegian folk music. Eg Er Framand was recorded at the Kampen Church in Oslo, where she performed while studying music in high school.

When Sylvaine first heard the title track, it hit her like no other song had before. Since then, she's shared this song with rapturous audiences everywhere. Today, she's releasing a new recording of "Eg Er Framand" that finds her searching for a higher, lonely power.

Watch the shadowy and serene visualizer for "Eg Er Framand" below.

Eg Er Framand is out March 22 on Season of Mist.

Kathrine Shepard has grown into a guiding light for post-metal. As Sylvaine, her white-hot tremolo picking can ignite the coldest and blackest of hearts. She plays every instrument on Eg Er Framand, but the title track has no enchanting synths or eerie organ hums. Instead, the EP's emotional centerpiece is solely powered by her otherworldly voice.

Kjaere Herre (Dear being of light)
om eitt eg ber deg (With this I beg of you)
Fylg og lei meg (Take my hand)
fylg og le meg alltid du (Show me the way always you)

Sylvaine holds each note with soft restraint, as if cupped into the palm of her hand, like an offering. Close your eyes and envision her reaching through the trees, into the shadows, as her feet slowly lift off the ground.

"In the spring of 2023, when I had the idea to base this EP around Norwegian Folk music, I knew this song would be its center piece", Kathrine says. "This song has taken a place deep within my soul. My first meeting with 'Eg Er Framand' truly shook me to my core. Immediately, I knew that I wanted to share this incredibly beautiful piece. I have performed 'Eg Er Framand' on stages all around the world. Very often, I've been met with the exact same intense, emotional response from the audience. I have no idea who wrote this song, but it speaks to the exact same feelings I've spent the last 10 years trying to capture with Sylvaine".

The visualizer for "Eg Er Framand" was created by William Lacalmontie

Praise for Sylvaine

"Sylvaine's knack for sound placement is impeccable...[her] guitar melodies and voice shine with a brilliant light" - Angry Metal Guy

"Sylvaine is an incredibly mature and ridiculously talented new artist...her music is utterly beautiful, playing on old paradigms but exploiting them in ways that will carry you off to a land that you once thought make-believe" - Metal Injection

"Lush and evocative...bridging dark folk, shoegaze and atmospheric black metal, Sylvaine's widescreen approach to music has always been distinct" - New Noise

"Heavy yet delicate, huge yet intimate" - Ghost Cult

"Everything feels deliberate; every melody, every word, every note feels carefully and lovingly arranged just so" - Nine Circles

The lead single off Eg Er Framand comes from similarly mysterious origins.

The lyrics to "Dagsens Augo Sloknar Ut" were written in 1891 by Elias Blix, a professor-turned-politician, who also wrote hymns. Staying true to the original's delicate, reverent melody, Sylvaine sings in a breathy, elongated whisper that's both haunting and soothing.

Watch as Kathrine dances across a magnificent tapestry of poetic landscapes in the song's official video, which was directed and produced by William Lacalmontie.

Sylvaine is embarking on her first-ever solo tour this summer. She'll be performing songs from Eg Er Framand on stages across Europe with her new Season of Mist labelmate Eivør.

"I'm so very excited to be heading out on my first-ever solo tour supporting none other than the wonderfully talented Eivør!", Kathrine says. "I'm honored to be sharing the stage with her and her musicians, and can't wait to showcase my music in a different format. It will be an intimate, emotionally heavy ride. October can't come soon enough!"

Get tickets at eivor.com

In preparation for their tour together, Eivør and Sylvaine put together a playlist of their favorite songs. Get in the mood with some of the choice cuts off Nova and the soundtracks to The Last Kingdom and God of War Ragnarök.

Kathrine Shepard, the visionary artist behind the evocative musical project SYLVAINE, weaves an intricate tapestry of emotions through the language of music. A transcendental bridge between worlds, a mesmerizing duality that encapsulates the beautiful and the harsh, light and darkness, serenity and chaos, and the delicate balance between the external world and the inner sanctum of the soul. It is a symphony that harmonizes the human experience with its spiritual origins – a resonance of something beyond the tangible.

Sylvaine’s compositions are a visceral journey through the vast spectrum of emotions that the complexities of the human experience have to offer. They encapsulate the inherent struggle of being an entity in this world, yet not entirely of it. Kathrine’s music serves as a conduit for her innermost feelings, a cathartic expression of the eternal longing that resides within the very core of her melodies.

Akin to a fairytale spun from the threads of Norwegian folklore, a narrative that resonates with the spirits of ancient woods and the whispers of long forgotten creatures. With every ethereal note and haunting melody, she conjures images of untamed forests, of misty clearings inhabited by mystical beings. In this artistry, there is an undeniable sense of transcendence, where listeners are transported beyond the confines of the ordinary into a dreamscape where reality and fantasy converge. A profound sense of wonder and allure creates a unique musical alchemy – with a touch of enchantment that lingers long after the music has ceased.

With four albums and one split-EP released to date, Sylvaine’s ethereal soundscapes have been taken to stages across Europe, North America and South America, leaving audiences mesmerized by the transcendent power of the band’s live performances. Two of these albums have been nominated for the Norwegian Grammy Awards Spellemannprisen in the category of metal. The ability to transport listeners to otherworldly realm through her music is a manifestation of the artistry & profound impact the band can bring.

As Sylvaine prepares to unveil her upcoming EP, Eg Er Framand, she embarks on a deeply introspective and serene journey through the rich tapestry of Norwegian heritage and tradition. Folk tales of old are brought to life in this new chapter of her musical odyssey, offering a glimpse into the depths of her creative spirit and an exploration of the roots that anchor her artistry. A reflection of myths is embraced through exquisite sonic realms.

ABOUT AUGUST BURNS RED:
August Burns Red is likely the only metal act ever described as "thrillingly empathetic" (Kerrang!). It's a testament to the ferocious band's ability to recognize and connect with the mixture of brokenness and hope found in their audience and within themselves. A hard-working collective with a shockingly stable lineup for the vast majority of their career, August Burns Red pour every ounce of themselves into their music. Atmospheric, riff-laden, aggressive bursts of controlled chaos, filled with shifting time signatures and tempos, deliver confessional, self-reflective, and authentic emotion.

Tour stops with Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Parkway Drive, and Bring Me the Horizon; several major international hard rock festivals (Rock Am Ring, Download, and Aftershock, to name a few); and the Vans Warped Tour are among the destinations around the world to witness ABR's live prowess. Massive headlining treks celebrating 10-year anniversaries for Constellations and Leveler demonstrated the enduring relevance of the band’s catalog, nearly 20 years into ABR's storied career. 2020's Guardians debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hard Music, Rock Albums, and Vinyl Albums charts.

Revolver, who put the band on their cover the same year, observed August Burns Red "embrace the pain so well." It's a truth never more evident than on Death Below, their stunning ninth studio album. Recorded with longtime producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland, Death Below encompasses all of the pissed-off strength of the band's past without sacrificing an ounce of catchy, melodic might. Death Below boasts guest appearances from ABR allies Jesse Leach (Killswitch Engage), Spencer Chamberlain (Underoath), Jason Richardson (All That Remains), and JT Cavey (ERRA). "It's getting difficult for the members of August Burns Red to keep one-upping themselves," marveled Billboard shortly before Guardians arrived. With Death Below, they emerge victorious again.

New Single/Video Out Now! , TOUR ANNOUNCEMENT w/ Cold & Orgy HORIZON THEORY "NOWHERE TO GO"

Horizon Theory, the Michigan-based hard rock band, has released their latest single "NOWHERE TO GO" and it's a must-listen for anyone who enjoys meaningful lyrics and a heavy-hard rock music jam. The song, according to lead vocalist Josh Harrington, is about battling various struggles and the impact it has on the relationships with the ones you love.

The band's talent is evident as Horizon Theory continues to dole out notable variations and levels of hard rock with each single they release. "Nowhere To Go" leads with fresh expressive vocals, deep connecting bass, and dispatches solid riding drum beats throughout. A combination that tells a story and rocks solidly.

With Chris Black on guitars, Luen Murr on bass, Josh Harrington on vocals, and Jeff Hafer on drums you don't want to miss out on this significant and blazing single.

"NOWHERE TO GO" is now available for streaming on all

major platforms.

“To me this song is about battling alcoholism and/or suicide. Ruining relationships with the choices you've made and how it all affects the ones you love. Realizing that, but not knowing how to change so you fall in even further” - Josh Harrington, Vocals

Washington, D.C. quintet Darkest Hour — Mike Schleibaum [guitar], John Henry [vocals], Aaron Deal [bass], Travis Orbin [drums], and Nico Santora [guitar] — have released announced their tenth album Perpetual | Terminal, today, February 23rd.

To celebrate the album's arrival, the band has shared the video for "One With the Void."

"This song, as well as this album, showcases John's amazing talents like none other," says Schleibaum. "With this in mind, we chose to unveil this song, 'One With the Void, as our third video and single for the release of Perpetual | Terminal. An emotional leap, 'One with the Void' channels the melodic, dark, and atmospheric side of Darkest Hour. We are excited to premier this song alongside this incredible video by Mirko Witzki. This song is so personal to me, I love it. It continues the long tradition of John combining his amazing melodic talents with his introspective lyrical approach. To me, this is a love song; others might see another story, regardless there is no doubt this song expands the musical pallet of this band and brings a balance to this record that makes it perfect."

Imminence opened a fresh chapter last year with five singles releasing since June 2023. The new tracks have quickly achieved millions of streams, worldwide attention and a rapid growth in social media following. These latest compositions stand as a testament to Imminence's evolution, marking some of their most innovative and progressive work to date. Venturing into a darker and more orchestral realm, the band continues to redefine the boundaries of the modern alternative scene. Imminence's exploration is more than just music; it's a daring descent into uncharted territories, solidifying their position as pioneers in the landscape of unique and highly innovative musical expressions.

"This is the closest we've ever been to a self-titled release, as this record speaks volumes about what Imminence is as a band," says Berg. "Drawing influences across our discography mixed with our Scandinavian roots, you can hear elements from our entire history, yet fueled by an insatiable hunger. The album is probably the most conceptual we've ever created, and I've never been more proud of a body of work before. Continuing on the path as previous releases, the lyrical concepts revolve around mental health and depression. But there's no holding back this time. It's angrier, more desperate, and unhinged, soaking in fear and darkness. We've also allowed ourselves to let the album soar out into unexpected spaces, creating a musical journey with stark contrasts between light and darkness. It's an 'eat-your-heart-out', unapologetic testament to what Imminence has become. This is The Black."

Imminence continue to navigate a vast musical landscape, showcasing a wide variety throughout their journey as a band. Their preceding album, Heaven In Hiding, not only marked a milestone in their discography but also catapulted Imminence's distinct sound and visual narrative into the limelight. This triumph was partly orchestrated by the collaboration of video producer Pavel Trebukhin from TRE Films. Together with the band, Trebukhin realized the visionary music videos that propelled Imminence into a league of their own within the genre. They are a standout amidst the multitude of acts.

In this exciting chapter, Imminence reunites with the accomplished Swedish music producer Henrik Udd, known for his mastery in bringing out the true essence of artists. Udd's collaboration has once again provided the band with the tools to delve deeper into their musical core, accentuating the individual strengths of each member.

"I believe we allowed ourselves to take things to the real extremes this time," says Barrett. "Looking back at our catalogue, I guess this has always been in our nature, whatever direction we decided to take. If we wanted to go electronic, it was 100%. If we wanted to go acoustic, it was 100%. We would even bring a string quartet and do an acoustic tour in concert churches. There's really nothing in between; it's always full dedication with no looking back, and that became so obvious while digging even deeper behind what the last album taught us. From the moment we had the lyric line 'This is the black,' it was just clear what this album was about. It's a void that devours you, a wounded animal fighting for it’s life, a descent into darkness. This is The Black."

Taking a stride into the next phase of the band's journey, Imminence have severed ties with the traditional framework of having a record label backing and opted for the path of independent music release. This decision marks a significant shift in the band's approach, allowing them greater creative freedom and control over their musical endeavors.

"We've always embraced the DIY ethos – it's at the core of who we are," Barrett elaborates. "The success we've attained is a product of our own vision and hard work. While our incredible team has played a crucial role, we remain deeply immersed in every aspect of our band. The decision to go independent wasn't made lightly; we had many internal debates about whether we were up for the challenge. Looking back at the singles released in this cycle and the milestones achieved in such a short time, there's no doubt that going independent was among the wisest choices we've ever made."

He continues, "Our journey is a testament to what can be achieved when you believe in your own abilities. I sincerely hope that this album serves as an inspiration to fellow emerging artists, urging them to pursue their dreams and embrace artistic creativity and independence. It's a rewarding journey, and we encourage anyone who might consider this path to take that leap of faith."

Imminence recently embarked on their very first tour of North America and the response was nothing short of extraordinary. In a mere 48 hours, the entire tour was sold out and venues upgraded — not once but twice. This swift and overwhelming success solidified Imminence's status as one of the most sought-after acts in the international music scene. During 2024, Imminence will make their return to the USA with a full tour over the entire country, including performances at anchor festivals Sonic Temple and Welcome to Rockville.

Closing the chapter on Heaven In Hiding, the band unveiled an exclusive Deluxe Edition release. The band continued their ascent with attention-grabbing Live In Studio recordings, triggering viral sensations across social media platforms. Witnessing an impressive growth of over 100,000 followers and millions of streams in just a few months in 2023, Imminence's impact remains unstoppable.

Boasting four full-length studio albums, +220 million streams, a combined online following of 580,000, and nearing the 900,000 monthly Spotify listeners mark, Imminence are set to continue their monumental touring history in 2024. Having sold out headline shows across Europe and supported metal legends In Flames in late 2022, the band is gearing up for a return to the United States. Their festival presence is also set to shine, with confirmed appearances at Download, Greenfield, Jera On Air, Full Force, Rockstadt Extreme, and more, promising an electrifying year ahead.

From Sweden with love.

ALCEST - Announce New Album Les Chants De L'Aurore + Release 'L'Envol'

This summer will see the release of a long awaited gem: Today, French shoegaze/indie act ALCEST announce the release of their seventh album Les Chants De L'Aurore for June 21st.

Neige states:
"'L'Envol' is a musical return to the atmosphere of Alcest's first albums. I wrote this song after an inspiring trip to Corsica, where I met amazing people and was surrounded by some of the most unique landscapes I have ever seen. It is about escaping from earthly reality to join a flock of mythical birds flying through the known boundaries of our world. The song is accompanied by a music video created by the talented French artist Yoann Lossel, who also designed the album cover. For this first single release, we wanted the music, lyrics and visuals to be as coherent and immersive as possible. All the tracks on Les Chants de l'Aurore are very different from one another, but we thought this one would be a great introduction to the overall atmosphere and themes of the album."

The pre-order will start soon. To celebrate the announcement, the band shares a new song, 'L'Envol', together with an outstanding music video that you can watch here. The music video for 'L'Envol' as well as the artwork for Les Chants De L'Aurore was created by Yoann Losel.

About ALCEST:
For principal songwriter and frontman Neige, ALCEST has always been a gateway to the otherworldly, a means of exploring his spirituality. An elemental two-piece, completed by long-serving drummer and creative confidante WinterhalterALCEST seem to dip their toes in a multitude of musical genres without ever quite fitting in. “In the metal scene ALCEST is a weird band, in the indie/post-rock scene ALCEST is a weird band- we never quite fit in,” Neige reflects. “This is how I feel in life, always an outsider; It’s not a problem, it’s just the way it is.”

ALCEST is:
Neige | vocals, guitars, bass, synths

Fame on Fire Share New Single "Nightmare (The Devil)"

FAME ON FIRE — Bryan Kuznitz (vocals), Blake Saul (guitarist), Paul Spirou (bass), and Alex Roman (drums) — are roaring into 2024 with the new single "Nightmare (The Devil)." This venomous track offers a taste of what's to come from the band later this year.

Listen to "Nightmare (The Devil)" and watch the visualizer below

The song encourages the listener to take a long, hard look inward.

"Sometimes when you are living your dreams and doing what you love, it can quickly turn into a nightmare you can't wake up from. You sense this feeling of being trapped and not being able to find your way out," shares Kuznitz about the track's deeper meaning.

He continues, "The past two years, we pushed ourselves so hard from touring constantly and meeting people that made us feel like kings, all while trying to keep ourselves grounded in what actually mattered the most. I was seduced by a world of attention and I felt like I was losing my sense of identity. I was riding a high but I wasn't myself anymore. I don't know who I was and still don't. The dream that I always wanted became a nightmare. The sickest part of it is I accepted it."

The singer finishes, "The interesting thing is this was the first song we wrote with Erik Ron. He was really able to pull some crazy hard truths out of me when it came to lyrics. He is amazing at everything, but this song is why we chose him to produce our upcoming album."

The Palm Beach, Florida-based hit-makers are riding high off the massive success of their smash "Welcome To The Chaos," which hit #16 at rock radio. But there's no rest for the wicked and the band is busy crafting new hits to add to their growing discography which boasts over 300 million streams.

Leaving absolutely nothing on the table, Fame On Fire have carved out a lane all their own by pushing the boundaries of the relationship between rock, hip-hop, and heavy music, and by unapologetically being themselves. The band also impressed on tour with industry heavyweights like ONE OK ROCK, Our Last Night, Falling In Reverse, and Ice Nine Kills. The band snagged a coveted spot on SHIPROCKED 2023 and, next up, they'll be hitting the road with SIM throughout the spring in 1,500 cap rooms. As the band prepares for a sinister new chapter, they admit it's been a long road and it's due time to step into their power. "I feel like we keep getting more and more honest with every song we release. We are writing the music we want to hear," Kuznitz adds.

For Fame on Fire, the ceiling doesn't exist, but if it did, they'd barrel right through it anyhow.
