Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit Celebrate Eight-Night, Sold-Out Residency at Ryman Auditorium

GRAMMY award-winning Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit wrapped an eight-night, sold-out residency at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium Sunday, Oct. 22. The run of shows from Oct. 12-15 and Oct. 19-22 marked the group’s eighth residency at the Ryman, as Isbell reached a milestone of 50 career shows played at the revered venue. His residency has become an October tradition, with each night featuring a variety of openers and special guests including Adeem the Artist, Quinn Christopherson, S.G. Goodman, Izzy Heltai, Autumn Nicholas, Kim Richey, Lawrence Rothman, Satya and Amanda Shires.

Isbell celebrated the 10-year anniversary of his fourth solo album, Southeastern, playing the album from top-to-bottom during the residency. Released in 2013, the album solidified Isbell's influence on Americana and includes RIAA gold-certified tracks "Cover Me Up" and "If We Were Vampires." An expanded deluxe edition of the record was released in Sept. to further commemorate its impact over 10 years. In June, Isbell released his ninth solo album, Weathervanes, as
Pitchfork observed its songs "reveal their intricacies slowly, the measured, almost leisurely pace suggesting that Isbell is confident that his audience will stick with the album as they learn its subtle pleasures."

About Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit:

A Jason Isbell record always lands like a decoder ring in the ears and hearts of his audience, a soundtrack to his world and magically to theirs, too. Weathervanes carries the same revelatory power. This is a storyteller at the peak of his craft, observing his fellow wanderers, looking inside and trying to understand, reducing a universe to four minutes. He shrinks life small enough to name the fear and then strip it away, helping his listeners make sense of how two plus two stops equaling four once you reach a certain age -- and carry a certain amount of scars. The record features the rolling thunder of Isbell’s fearsome 400 Unit, who’ve earned a place in the rock ‘n’ roll cosmos alongside the greatest backing ensembles, as powerful and essential to the storytelling as The E Street Band or the Wailers.

They make a big noise, as Isbell puts it, and he feels so comfortable letting them be a main prism through which much of the world hears his art. He can be private but with them behind him he transforms, and there is a version of himself that can only exist in their presence. When he plays a solo show, he is in charge of the entire complicated juggle. On stage with the 400 Unit, he can be a guitar hero when he wants, and a conductor when he wants, and a smiling fan of the majesty of his bandmates when he wants to hang back and listen to the sound.

The roots of this record go back into the isolation of the pandemic and to Isbell’s recent time on the set as an actor on Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon. There were guitars in his trailer and in his rented house and a lot of time to sit and think. The melancholy yet soaring track “King of Oklahoma” was written there. Isbell also watched the great director work, saw the relationship between a clear vision and its execution, and perhaps most important, saw how even someone as decorated as Scorsese sought out and used his co-workers’ opinions.

Capstan Share Double Singles "Bete Noire" + "Heart to Heart"

Florida five-piece CAPSTAN — Anthony DeMario [vocals], Joe Mabry [guitar], Harrison Bormann [guitar], Andrew "Boz" Bozymowski [bass, vocals], and Scott Fisher [drums] — have shared a double single!

Today, fans can listen to "
Bête Noire" and "Heart to Heart."

"'Bête Noire' criticizes a broken system that rewards greed and exploitation while leaving ordinary people in suffering," the band shares. "The song calls for collective action to challenge this unjust status quo and emphasize the need to dismantle the oppressive structures that perpetuate inequality. The repeated chorus lyric of 'Hail to the thief' underscores the message of resistance against those who benefit from this system at the expense of others."

The song is truly a carnival of sounds – thinks gnarly riffs, moshy breakdowns, alternately sung and screamed vocals, and experimental, unusual, and upbeat melodies. It's a gloriously dizzying and layered mix.

The band has also dropped the video for "Heart to Heart." Watch the clip, featuring Belmont and Jason Tyler,
below.

Sonically, the song harks back to the glory days of Warped Tour, pop-punk, and emo with its vocal harmonies, singalong choruses, rowdy riffery, and standout solos. It's the best kind of throwback since it transports you to a time long since past — without OD'ing on nostalgia. It also has a very poignant lyrical lean.

"'Heart to Heart' depicts a heartfelt and comforting conversation between partners," Capstan explain. "The lyrics acknowledge the speaker's own shortcomings in listening and paying attention but emphasizes the enduring love and connection they share. The chorus highlights the importance of open communication and vulnerability in their relationship, inviting the other person to let their guard down and be themselves. The song is a message of love, understanding, and the power of shared moments."

Captan are touring next year with Holding Absence.

CO-HEADLINE TOUR WITH SILLY GOOSE SET FOR NOVEMBER

Newly signed SHARPTONE RECORDS band POST PROFIT — Matt Jackson [vocals, guitar], Nick Hawner [guitar +vocals], and Zach Hicks [drums + vocals] — have announced their new, six-song EP, Self Defeater, out November 17. Pre-order it
here.

Today, the band has shared the video for "Drug Emporium." Watch it
below.

Visually, it's a youthful romp that will transport you back to those high school afternoons — when you headed for the skateboard and bike ramp as soon as the homeroom bell rang.

Musically speaking, if you dig The Deftones and Quicksand, you'll love Post Profit and their chunky post-hardcore sound.

"This song is about the growing pains of growing up in the real world," the band explains. "While there's nostalgia in the music, the lyrics are about moving yourself forward and evolving. And since we're all fans of skateboarding, it only made sense to include it in the video."

Fresh off a spate of dates supporting Nothing More and Dead Poet Society, Post Profit will return to the road and embark on a co-headline tour next month with Silly Goose. All dates are below. Get tickets

ABOUT POST PROFIT
Some would say Post Profit have been waiting for this moment since the cradle, with each member being introduced to musical instruments between the ages of 2 to 6.

Zach and Matt forged a friendship as toddlers ever since their moms became best friends from church in Longview, TX. Nick would later learn of Matt's vocal prowess through the high school intercom. "Matt's father was the high school principal," explains Nick. "And he'd have Matt on there in the mornings singing about refraining from drugs and alcohol and striving for good school attendance."

Over the next few years, the trio would really get to know each other from attending and performing at local shows. Nick and Zach especially hit it off and quickly became inseparable, spending much of their time listening to music, eager to put their own band together. Meanwhile, Matt was sinking his teeth into a Dallas based metalcore band called Far From Earth.

During early 2017, Matt started hosting open jams every Sunday at a smoky East Texas dive bar and one night asked Zach to join on drums. Zach dragged his new friend Nick along on guitar and the trio quickly formed a strong musical bond. They would soon start slipping originals into their covers sets and after months of unrelenting practices and bar jams they booked their first show at a Halloween party in Tyler, TX.

With the experience of countless gigs across the South, Post Profit soon gained a reputation for their commanding and impactful live performance, including powerful 2021 and 2022 performances at Welcome To Rockville in Daytona, FL. Rallying around influences such as Deftones, Incubus, Failure, and Quicksand, the band refined their original songs and sound into what would become their 2022 debut self-produced album When You Think It's Right It's Always Wrong.  The release garnered over a million cumulative streams independently, and the success of their single "Smother" grabbed the attention of SharpTone Records, eventually landing them a deal.

INFERNO FESTIVAL NORWAY 2024 Announces VOID OV VOICES x NOSFERTU Silent Movie Collaboration

“Something strange and magical happens in the town of Oslo, Norway over Easter week. Most of polite society flees to the mountains while a scourge of metal heads pour in from all over the globe to experience the four day extravaganza of extreme metal, hedonism & hepatocyte known as Inferno Festival. Subsequently, the entire city becomes a misanthropic miscreant’s soggy dream come true, and we’ve got the whole place to ourselves!” - Metal Injection

INFERNO FESTIVAL NORWAY is now revealing a silent film concert in which Attila Csihar’s Void ov Voices will create the music for the classic German horror film 'Nosferatu' (1922). The silent film concert will take place at the cinema Vega Scene on Saturday, March 30, at daytime during Inferno Metal Festival 2024. Separate tickets will be available for this performance and can be found at THIS LOCATION.

VOID OV VOICES

Void ov Voices is the solo project of Attila Csihar, known as the vocalist of Mayhem and Tormentor, in which he uses only his own voice to create a dark and atmospheric soundscape. Csihar initiated this project in 2007 and has since performed numerous concerts with this concept. Void ov Voices has previously held a silent film concert in Oslo when they provided the music for 'The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari' during Oslo Fright Fest in 2012. We look forward to another silent film concert with Void ov Voices in Oslo, this time accompanying 'Nosferatu!'

NOSFERATU

The German silent film 'Nosferatu' was released in 1922 and was one of the first movies based on Bram Stoker’s 'Dracula.' Because they lacked the rights to the story, they changed names and locations, so Count Dracula became Count Orlok. However, this did not help, and the judiciary ruled that all the film reels of 'Nosferatu' should be destroyed. Fortunately, several reels survived, and F. W. Murnau’s great masterpiece endured. Now, over a hundred years later, the film still stands as one of the great classics in film history. We are excited to see and hear when Void ov Voices soundtracks the film during Inferno Metal Festival 2024.

Please note that Vega Scene has a limited number of seats, so be sure to act quickly to get tickets for the film concert!

Inferno Metal Festival will take place from March 28-31, 2024 across several venues in Oslo (NO).

In conjunction with Inferno Metal Festival, the Black Metal Bus Sightseeing Tour with Anders Odden (Cadaver, Celtic Frost, Order) is back with an all new routing! Following the success of this special event's inception last year, this incredible experience will take Inferno attendees through some of the places that marked the beginnings of Norwegian black metal!

Between 1991 and 1993, many of the most important events during this dark chapter of Norwegian music history took place in Oslo. Therefore, Inferno Metal Festival has put together a field trip to experience these legendary moments in time, including the site of Helvete, the legendary record store once owned by late Mayhem founder Øystein "Euronymous" Aarseth.

Anders Odden formed his first black metal band, Slaught, in 1986 after attending a rehearsal with Mayhem at the age of 14. He was one of the pioneers of the Norwegian scene, dealing with tape trading, organizing of concerts and creating extreme music of his own. He formed Cadaver in 1988, releasing what would be the first Norwegian death metal album on Earache Records in 1990. During this period, Odden performed alongside true Norwegian legends such as Darkthrone, Mayhem, Old Funeral and many more iconic bands.

This field trip has exclusive anecdotes and personal memories of the early life of the scene from someone who was there since the beginning. The daily sightseeing schedule is as follows:

Randall King’s ‘Into the Neon’ 18-Track Album Arrives Jan. 26, 2024

Raised on the plains of West Texas, Randall King honed his craft with countless nights spent strumming his guitar under the expansive skies, backlit by the stars’ neon glow. Flash forward to today, and King’s road warrior diet finds him revitalizing Country’s neo-traditional sound under a different kind of neon – the radiant glow from the signs of nearly 150 honky tonks he performs in across the country each year.

It’s this inspiration of nature and the humble establishments that have nurtured country music’s blue collar roots since its foundation that inspired King to usher people
Into the Neon – to a place where rowdy roughnecking, romantic tenderness and breathtaking emotion are all welcome – with his 18-track sophomore album, due Jan. 26, 2024 via Warner Music Nashville.

“You grow wiser with age, you grow wiser while you’re working and experiencing life, and I feel like I have a deeper understanding of what my music really is,” King reflects of the growth he’s experienced since his 2022 release, Shot Glass. “We're moving into the neon era of country music. The pendulum is swinging, and you’re watching it happen… Now I just hope people get their mind blown.”

Co-produced by King alongside Jared Conrad, the project incorporates a unique blend of the influences from icons and modern masters alike who have inspired King’s sound; inclusive of the timeless ‘80s country twang of George Strait and Keith Whitley, and the blood pumping, Y2K-era rhythms of Dierks Bentley and Gary Allan.

Showcasing his ability to traverse from a toe-tapping waltzer with “When My Baby’s In Boots” to the yearning lament of “I Could Be That Rain,” King lays it all on the line with songs that could just as easily be enjoyed while slow dancing under the starry night sky or while line dancing at a local honky tonk. With the release of “
Hang Of Hangin’ On,” available now, King finds himself graciously holding close to the girl he loves despite keeping “a goodbye up his sleeve” in the past.

“Think I’m getting the hang of hangin’ all this music out there,” King laughs. “I sure loved this song from the first time I heard it. Go spin your lady to this one y’all!”

Despite being in the studio recording new music in 2023, King has stayed busy on the road, recently returning from his first-ever European tour in September,
Neon Overseas, with a set of 11 shows, including sold-out stops in Cologne, Germany; London England and more. As the year winds down, King will support Jon Pardi and Ian Munsick on select tour dates, while continuing to headline stops in Paso Robles, CA; Reno, NV; Salt Lake City, UT and more.

King’s 3rd Annual KingFest in Luckenbach, TX will take place on Nov. 11 with Gary P. Nunn, Jon Stork and Braxton Keith at the helm for support. For upcoming tour dates and more information, visit
RandallKingMusic.com or follow @RandallKingBand across all social platforms.

About Randall King:
A West Texas native and self-described “old soul," Warner Music Nashville's Randall King has never wavered in his honky-tonk allegiance – in fact, he’s worn it like a badge of honor, growing with pride into a leading voice for today’s traditional country. Amassing over 270 Million streams with singles like “You In A Honky Tonk,” “Hey Cowgirl” and “Mirror, Mirror,” he’s kept the twang alive in country’s mainstream while also earning acclaim through deeply personal EPs like 2020’s Leanna, and his 2022 major label album debut, Shot Glass – which landed on both Whiskey Riff’s Top 40 Country Albums of 2022 and Billboard’s All Genre 50 Best Albums of 2022 (So Far). Schooled on icons like Keith Whitley, George Strait, Alan Jackson and John Anderson, but inspired by modern masters like Dierks Bentley and Gary Allan, King first built an independent, grass-roots following on the strength of his electrifying live shows – each one a harrowing mix of rowdy roughnecking, romantic tenderness and breathtaking emotion – never asking for permission to explore his creative vision. He has since gone on to headline all across the U.S., the U.K. and Europe, where he continues to play nearly 150 shows a year and hone his craft where it matters most. Named a Country Artist to Watch by everyone from Pandora and Country Now to Music Mayhem Magazine, his sophomore major label album Into the Neon takes that craft to the next level on January 26, as King’s neo-traditional roots meet the blood-pumping rhythms and sharp, arena-sized grooves of Y2K-era country and beyond. Co-produced by King and Jared Conrad, and featuring 18 tracks, punchy sounds exist side-by-side with timeless swagger, further blurring the line between yesteryear and today – even as King renews his forever-country vows.

A striving man finds himself face-to-face with death. It is a relentless fight between human and machine.

Adorned by artwork from Stefan Todorovic, the album features standout singles like ‘The Silence Beyond Life’ and the newly released track ‘I’ll Find You,’ which draw inspiration from Whelan’s own recent life-threatening obstacles.

About FUMING MOUTH:

A fiery, resurrected rage barrels its way out of hell’s erupting chasms with blistering fury; Fuming Mouth has returned. Lead singer, guitarist, and founder Mark Whelan emerges triumphant after a life-threatening battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, rekindling the inferno of their music with Fuming Mouth's second full-length album, Last Day of Sun.

What initially began as a full-on, fictional concept album underwent a profound transformation into a concept-reality hybrid, largely influenced by Whelan's harrowing conflict with his health and anear brush with death. Just three weeks away from recording the album, Whelan was struck with a devastating cancer diagnosis. While bravely fighting the illness, he rewrote melodies, drum sections, and lyrics, infusing the music with his personal journey of struggle and hope.

The recording sessions began in October 2022, with Grammy Award winning Kurt Ballou of Converge at his studio, God City, in Salem, Massachusetts. Ballou reached out to Whelan after his battle with cancer and encouraged him to get back to their previously scheduled recording session. Working closely with Ballou in both engineering and production, the band found a wonderful and collaborative experience, as Ballou invested himself wholeheartedly in shaping their sound and vision. Salem itself also helped shape the album, as the Halloween Season had begun. Droves of tourists and residents mixing with people in costume made the streets of Salem seem like Last Day of Sun had come to life. The city where the Witch Trials took place presented the perfect setting for the album to be recorded.

At the genesis of this record, there was no other artist that could have captured the album's essence better than Mariusz Lewandowski, with whom the band had already established a creative relationship through his work on the cover art of The Grand Descent. Tragically, Mariusz passed away while working on the album artwork, presenting the band with an immense obstacle to overcome. In tribute to his spirit and legacy, they joined forces with the talented artist Stefan Todorovic who crafted an evocative album cover depicting a Faustian city crumbling amidst the gray and sandy storms of the apocalypse. A colossal monster blocks the sun and hovers above the city as it burns, smoky buildings topple to the ground; all a visual representation of the chaos and darkness that permeates the album.

Fuming Mouth stands resilient, a testament to the indomitable human spirit. Amidst the carnage and depression lies a flicker of hope - a beacon of light that emanates from within. But as the last rays of the sun cast their shadow, the question remains. Will the people in Last Day of Sun survive? Will their worst inhibitions play out, will they rip each other to shreds, will they give up? Will everything they’ve built have been for not? Will they find a way to overcome, or will their panic lead to failure?

A prolific and sought-after songwriter (having co-writer credits on songs by artists including Luke Combs, Flatland Calvary, and more), Lainey is a fresh, fierce voice in Nashville, delivering CMA-nominated album of the year with her label debut, Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’. After topping the country radio charts for a second time with the two-week No. 1 hit, “Never Say Never” with Cole Swindell, she recently achieved her third and fourth No. 1 song with “Heart Like a Truck” and HARDY collaboration “wait in the truck”. Her current single “Watermelon Moonshine” topped the Country charts marking her fifth No. 1 single and making her the first female artist in two years to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Country airplay chart.  Her critically acclaimed album, Bell Bottom Country, reached No. 9 on Billboard’s Country Albums Chart, quickly rose to No. 1 on iTunes charts and has amassed over 650 million streams to date. Wilson made her acting debut in Season 5 of the smash hit series “Yellowstone” as a musician character named Abby, where she premiered her original “Smell Like Smoke” as well as showcased other hits off her recent album including “Watermelon Moonshine” and “Hold My Halo”. Adding to her growing list of endeavors, Wilson was recently named “Tractor Supply Brand Ambassador,” was honored at Billboard’s Women in Music Awards with the Rulebreaker Award, and most recently joined forces with Wrangler as the face of their 2023 fall/winter women's collection.

Today, the band has shared their video for "
Fired Up." Watch it below.

The song's layered, full melodies and tongue-in-cheek lyrics are the perfect mid-day pick-me-up — it's the sonic serotonin boost you need when the clock is about to strike 2pm and you are this close to hitting the wall. Who needs caffeine when you can get "Fired Up?" This feel-good jam will have you shimmying and swaying for the next three minutes.

"'Fired Up' is such a party," says Higgenson. "Somehow, it's energetic and lazy, amped up and chill, all at the same time. I think it might be the best song on the album. It's all about looking around and seizing the day. A total feel good song, but in an odd, quirky way. I don't think it's possible to listen to it without smiling."

Plain White T's will also appear at the second annual When We We Young Festival in Las Vegas this weekend, along with additional hometown performances below.

Bad Omens slither through boundaries, only to ultimately choke convention in the process. The quartet—Noah Sebastian (vocals), Joakim “Jolly” Karlsson (guitar), Nick Ruffilo (bass), and Nick Folio (drums)—materialize with ghostly atmospherics, striking hooks, and the tingles of sensual high-register harmonies uplifted by cinematic production. Racking up over 250M worldwide streams to date and earning acclaim, the band presents an uncompromising and undeniable vision on their third full-length album, 'THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND' (Sumerian Records).

“Making the record changed us as songwriters and musicians. In many ways, I feel like it set me free as an artist because every decision made in the writing process was for myself, with no fear for anyone else’s expectations of what our third album should sound like. Be it our fans or our record label.”

They’ve always wielded this level of magic though…

The group’s 2016 self-titled debut, 'Bad Omens', yielded fan favorites such as “Glass Houses” and “The Worst In Me” which eclipsed 46 million Spotify streams. On its heels, 2019’s 'Finding God Before God Finds Me' spawned “Dethrone” (36 million Spotify streams) and “Careful What You Wish For”. Along the way, they toured with numerous marquee acts and received tastemaker praise.

After their first headline tour was canceled mid-way at the top of the global pandemic, the band found themselves at home in Los Angeles with plenty of time. Where they absorbed and imparted a different palette of unexpected inspirations. Channeling what the frontman describes at times as a “cursive sound” they embraced newfound confidence and boundlessly loose creativity. Anything went in the studio, and all “rules” were broken. Noah and Jolly wrote, produced, and engineered the music themselves while GRAMMY® Award-nominated producer and songwriter Zakk Cervini (Halsey, Grimes, Poppy, blink-182) lent his talents with the mix and master. Challenging himself, Noah decided to “make a track sampling items around the house, none of which were musical instruments”.

This ultimately became the framework for the first single “THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND”. Claps puncture the icy soundscape as his voice stretches from a breathy moan into an evocative and entrancing hook, breaking from a whisper into the seductive chant, “It wasn’t hard to realize. Love’s the death of peace of mind.” It culminates on a climactic scream uplifted by a distorted crunch.

“The whole record really details the loss of peace of mind,” he explains. “The lyrics in the title track are a little more specific in terms of the conflict at the heart of something more intimate and personal.”

By speaking it aloud, Bad Omens offer a level of comfort and empathy, with a sinister shroud. At the same time, they also give rock music a sexy new shape on 'THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND'.

“Sonically, we want to do something you can’t arrive late or early too,” he leaves off. “You can’t cheat your way to the final act. You have to get on the ride and process it until the end. The songs are meant to be heard from start to finish. We want you to take the whole trip with us.”

BLACK LAVA Touring with Obituary + Psycroptic

After coming together over frustrations with the pandemic, Black Lava boiled to a nicely charred head on their debut album. Despite surfacing toward the end of 2022, 'Soul Furnace' burned with such fury that Distorted Sound dubbed it a contender for album of the year. The blackened riffs spilled all the way to #2 on Australia's Independent Albums chart, while Dan Presland's heavy grooves and blast beats melted away Sick Drummer

Black Lava are riding that torrential wave all the way into 2024. The blackened heavy metal Aussies are touring the land down under with fellow countrymen Psycroptic and legendary swamp monsters Obituary.

Watch Black Lava burn through the blistering  "Baptised In Ice".

During the turbulent and uncertain years of 2020-2021, perhaps none were plunged deeper into darkness than those from down under as Australia imposed some of the strictest, harshest, and most devastating lockdown measures in the world, forcing their civilians into years of isolation. However, through solitude and desolation, some of the greatest art is created, as is the case with BLACK LAVA, the emerging blackened death metal quartet from Melbourne (AU). Founded by drummer Dan Presland (Vipassi, AMDBL, ex-Ne Obliviscaris) and guitarist Ben Boyle (Vipassi, AMDBL, Hadal Maw), BLACK LAVA draws influence from old school death and black metal bands while injecting groove-laden melodies and progressive elements to create their own experimental sound.

“The idea came about from just pure frustration of the situation at hand during 2020/2021,” explains Presland of the band’s formation. “Ben and I live locally together, and in the beginning of the pandemic, I built a working studio, so we got together to just initially jam to release some frustrations and vent some music around the second half of 2021. We had a pretty casual jam together and Ben came back with a few fleshed out ideas a few days later.” As the ideas started to come to fruition, the duo quickly realized that the project had more potential than just a jam session. “Both of us were really into the direction Ben pushed,” continues Presland, “and it was something pretty new to both of us - we have worked together quite extensively over the years within music, playing in several bands together (Vipassi, AMDBL, Aphotic Dawn and more) - so to go in a totally new direction was pretty refreshing.”

As the pair fleshed out more ideas, they turned to their good friend Rob Watkins of Blackhelm to fulfill vocal duties. “Within 10 minutes we had found a vocalist and the search for a bassist was on. Tim Anderson (Blackhelm) was found pretty quickly and was keen to jump on board the idea also, so within a very short time frame we had a full lineup, a record ready to go, and 4 guys full of enthusiasm to push something new.”

Sharing a diverse love for black metal, death metal, and progressive music, the quartet quickly found their sound and hit a stride. And thus, Soul Furnace was born - a searing 34-minute aural assault that conjures up nostalgia while still sounding fresh and current. While the record promises to usher in a new musical era of the 2020s with its forward-thinking and contemporary energy, the lyrics dwell somewhere between fantasy and the old world.

“In the world of Black Lava, the lyrics are set in a time and world long gone and forgotten, mostly made up of fantasy and a medieval theme, fitting for the realms of our style of music,” explains vocalist Rob Watkins of the album’s themes and inspirations. “We draw inspiration from the natural environment and mother nature, ancient witchcraft and the glory of warriors in battle. I picture Black Lava as visiting an ancient beast in a cave giving you a chance to escape the outside world through its tales and mythology.”

With a new deal with Season of Mist and a team of some of the music industry’s most revered artists, producers, engineers, and professionals behind them to help render their vision, Black Lava is ready to make its debut and unleash its fury upon the masses.

Satellite Citi Unveils Rain-Soaked Video For "Trouble Flower"

The Los Angeles-based hard rock duo, Satellite Citi, have today unleashed a torrential downpour of emotion with their latest single, "Trouble Flower", accompanied by a rain-soaked music video. Fans can listen to the track HERE, and watch the brand new video below.

Speaking on today's single release, Anna Gevorkian (vocals/drums) shares:

"We dived deep into metaphors and used the lyrics as a form of poetry for this song. Lyrically, it tackles mental health, negative self-talk people struggle with when dealing with depression and how a lot of people act "happy" but internalize their struggles instead of being proactive in seeking help."

Reflecting on the track, Shaunt Sulahian (guitar) continues:

"I think this is one of the most powerful songs we’ve released both musically and thematically. It’s definitely an immediate punch in the face, but it also has a ton of melody, which is the balance we always try to have when we start writing a song."

Satellite Citi, comprised of the dynamic duo Anna Gevorkian (vocals/drums) and Shaunt Sulahian (guitar), has carved a distinctive niche in the music world with their fierce sound and captivating stage presence. "Trouble Flower" is a song that encapsulates the essence of their artistry—a potent blend of raw emotion and musical prowess.

The music video for "Trouble Flower" takes this essence to new heights. Directed by the acclaimed Jorge Gonzalez, it plunges the audience into a tempestuous sea of feelings, with the band performing amid a relentless downpour. The rain, a metaphor for life's challenges, serves as the perfect backdrop for Satellite Citi's evocative lyrics and electrifying melodies.

With over 1.5 million streams on Spotify alone, Satellite Citi's continued success is undeniable. "Anxious Hearts" saw the band collaborating with renowned talents such as Lit's Taylor Carroll and Halestorm's Arejay Hale, while the track was skillfully produced by Mike Plotnikoff (known for his work with My Chemical Romance, Three Days Grace, Papa Roach). The band has additional exciting developments in the pipeline, including more new music and an upcoming comic book that will further establish the band as a force to be reckoned with. Be sure to stay tuned for more Satellite Citi news coming soon.

The Native Howl Drop New Single "Can't Sleep" + Visualizer (via Sumerian Records)

The Native Howl, purveyors of their own genre-blurring sound "Thrash Grass" who captivated audiences by winning Season 1 of the hit TV series No Cover, have today dropped their new song "Can't Sleep" (via Sumerian Records). Speaking about the track, the band shared:

"Like much of The Native Howl’s catalog, “Can’t Sleep” was inspired by cinema while touring. The film “The Matrix” had a large role in the song’s rowdy instrumental and vocal delivery, while the over-exerting lifestyle of being in a touring band did the rest. The lyrical themes of struggle, loss, and desperation came from personal experience."

Prior to today, the quartet dropped their track "Sons of Destruction", their first after signing with Sumerian Records. Stream "Can't Sleep" at the link here, watch below, and be sure to stay tuned for more Native Howlnews coming very soon.

The Native Howl is a genre-defying quartet hailing from Leonard, Michigan, USA. Their fast-tempo music they’ve coined as “Thrash Grass” combines the aggression and intensity of thrash metal with the precision and melodicism of bluegrass. The band was born from a musical experiment that defied all expectations by blending elements of folk, bluegrass, rock, and metal, resulting in a sound entirely their own. With a dash of outlaw spirit and a touch of the wilderness, their music transports listeners to a sonic landscape where the traditional meets the contemporary. From foot-stomping bluegrass jams to lightning-fast metal-esque banjo picking, their tracks are a musical thrill ride that keeps the listener guessing with each note. Their lyrics often explore the dark sides of the human condition, nature, and the trials of life, creating a deep and personal connection with their audience.

Fans will have their chance to see The Native Howl on the road starting in December in support of Zakk Sabbath. For ticket information, please click here.

In that time, he has accumulated an astonishing 28 No. 1 singles, sold nearly 15 million album equivalents and earned upwards of 11.5 billion global streams. Shelton has received myriad awards, including six ACMs, three AMAs, 10 CMAs, 11 CMTs and six People’s Choice. He most recently earned the fan-voted “Social Star” title at the inaugural People’s Choice Country Awards. A celebrated entertainer, Shelton headlined his “Back to the Honky Tonk” this year. The run earned rave reviews and boasted sold-out crowds, landing him on Billboard’s mid-year Top Tours list.

As an original coach on the Emmy Award-winning television show The Voice, Shelton brought a steady diet of current and classic country music to the NBC primetime audience. After 23 seasons and nine championships, he stepped away from the show in May. He and Carson Daly have teamed up to executive produce and star in the high-spirited, celebrity game show, Barmageddon. ABOUT DUSTIN LYNCH
Dustin Lynch has "built one of the most consistent recording careers in modern country music” (Billboard), achieving eight No. 1s, four Top 5 albums, 10 Gold and Platinum certified singles, and tallying over 5.4 BILLION cumulative global streams. His sixth studio album, Killed The Cowboy (Broken Bow Records), is boldly making a statement. The follow-up to Blue In The Sky, which delivered the history-making Platinum, six-week No. 1 “Thinking ‘Bout You (feat. MacKenzie Porter)” – the most-played song at Country radio in 2022 landing at No. 1 on the Country Aircheck and No. 2 on the Billboard Year-End Country Airplay charts – also featured nearing Top 5 single “Stars Like Confetti” and hit “Party Mode.” Launching the KILLED THE COWBOY TOUR in 2024, Lynch has headlined packed venues and toured with country’s biggest names like Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Brad Paisley and Kane Brown. Since his Platinum breakout “Cowboys and Angels” in 2012, the Tennessee native has earned industry recognition as a Grand Ole Opry member, as well as high-profile nominations for the Academy of Country Music Awards, American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, iHeartRadio Music Awards, and CMT Music Awards.

ABOUT EMILY ANN ROBERTS
They say the way to the biggest stage is practice, practice, practice. And that’s exactly what Emily Ann Roberts has done, paying her dues from tiny stages in Knoxville to the biggest stage of all, the Grand Ole Opry. Since launching her career, Roberts has now played the coveted Opry stage 17 times. Before that, she made a name for herself on Blake Shelton’s team on The Voice before she’d even graduated from high school. In a way, being named as a runner-up was the biggest win of all. Because now, with all of that performing, songwriting and recording experience, Roberts has already racked up more than 35 million streams and was recently named one of Rolling Stone magazine’s Best Acts of CMA Fest. Growing up in East Tennessee, Roberts was raised on Smoky Mountain music, bluegrass players and country artists from every era: from Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton to Miranda Lambert and Cody Johnson. And all of that has prepared her to bring the country back to country music and that’s exactly what she’s doing on her debut full-length record, Can’t Hide Country, which is out now. Recorded at Starstruck Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, and produced by GRAMMY-winning producer, Trent Willmon, Emily Ann's honest and captivating lyrics, along with her exceptional vocal talents, have already received widespread acclaim from both the media and her dedicated fanbase. It's abundantly clear that country music is in capable hands with Roberts at the helm.

Frenchy and the Punk release 'Cities In Dust' tribute, marking its 38th anniversary, along with B-side 'Monsters'

"Explosive, subdued, confrontational, soothing, spikey, and accessible, an incredible blend of alt-rock shade and alt-folk light" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Vibrant and danceable. Who says dark can’t also be fun? Zen Ghost, which may be among the year’s best albums to date, is a highly recommended listen" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Penetrating psych-soaked post-punk... Brimming with their signature cinematic drama and that unforgettable voice" ~ Global Texan Chronicles

"Bombastic... a happy medium between the sonic atmosphere and thoughtful melancholy of post-punk music and the unmistakable drama of cabaret... beautifully manic"  ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"An inspiriting slice of post punk hued, new wave nurtured rock ‘n’ roll... under the skin and hungrily stirring the imagination in a flash" ~ Ringmaster Review

NYC-based goth pop-alternative duo
Frenchy and the Punk present their cover version of Siouxsie and the Banshees’ classic 'Cities In Dust', set for release on October 18, the 38th anniversary of the original release by this game-changing post-punk outfit.

The single comes with the B-side track
'Monsters', a rhythmic new wave-punky guitar-based tale of greed that conjures images of surreal scenes as if in a trippy video game. Reflecting the angst of the moment, it weaves and flows in observation of the theft of the world's abundance by those whose hunger to have it all at any cost knows no bounds.

Frenchy and the Punk is vocalist, percussionist and lyricist Samantha Stephensonand guitarist-composer Scott Helland, who co-founded Outpatients and
Deep Wound (with Dinosaur Jr.'s J Mascis and Lou Barlow). Tapped as one of the Top 25 duos in the US by Yahoo! Music, the duo profess a vivid blend of post-punk, cabaret and dark folk music.

This release follows the duo's seventh album
'Zen Ghost', written and recorded during the pandemic and released in October 2022 to critical acclaim. During these same recording sessions, they decided to record the Banshees’ cover after fans seemed thrilled with their live rendition at shows.

Many of the songs on their recent Zen Ghost have also garnered that vocal comparison as well as to Grace Slick and Johnette Napolitano. American guitarist and live looping master Scott Helland, who cut his teeth in the early hardcore punk scene of Western Massachusetts, is an avid fan of the iconic 80s band and Cities in Dust was one of his favorites.

Helland recalls first discovering Siouxsie in the mid-80s upon walking into his favorite record store - Main Street Records in Northampton, MA, noting “It was one of those things I’ll never forget. Seeing a poster of Siouxsie with her teased black hair and the song blasting throughout the store, it was mind blowing. I feel like I hadn’t really been exposed to female musicians in the punk or goth realm until then. She was instantly cool to me."

While also a fan, Stephenson's deep dive into the Banshees’ sound came much later. “I was aware of Siouxsie and the Banshees, but mostly for her stunning look. I loved her image. She seemed to exude fierceness and confidence but I wasn’t all that familiar with the band’s sound. It’s really because our fans constantly mentioned her name that got me falling down the Banshees’ rabbit hole some years ago," says Stephenson.

"It’s never too late to discover great music! Seeing her perform at Latitude Festival in the UK while on tour there this year was so inspiring. She fully embraces her age and still performs with the fierceness I saw and loved in those early days. I so appreciate how creative and inventive the band was and I’m also a fan of Siouxsie’s solo album Mantaray.”

Helland and Stephenson met in NYC in 1998, when Stephenson spontaneously jumped on stage to accompany Helland during his solo guitar performance. The spark was immediate, powerful and undeniable. The two began to tour with fevered zeal and striking aesthetic, building fervent fans on the mystical-folk/steampunk festival, coffeehouse, convention and club circuits with their boisterous performances.

With
numerous recordings under their belt over the years, they've performed with Dead Can Dance's Peter Ulrich and Dresden Dolls' Brian Viglione, and opened for Thomas Dolby, Dinosaur Jr., The World Inferno Friendship Society, Rasputina, Cruxshadows, Hurray For The Riff Raff and The Young Dubliners.

After a full year of touring throughout the USA and Europe in support of 'Zen Ghost', Frenchy and the Punk is now back in New York, writing material for a new album they plan to release in 2024. In the meantime, 'Cities In Dust' is available from fine digital outlets, including
Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp.

FLAT BLACK Share "JUSTICE WILL BE DONE" Video

Guitarist Jason Hook has stormed out of the gates with his new band FLAT BLACK. The former Five Finger Death Punch guitarist has recruited a trio of young and talented turks, and the band has signed with Fearless Records for its debut album, the details of which are TBA. The album, produced by Hook, was recorded at both Hooks home studio and The Hideout.

In late summer, FLAT BLACK shared two new songs: "
IT'S YOUR LACK OF RESPECT" and "HALO."

Today, they follow with the video for "JUSTICE WILL BE DONE." Watch it
below

"JUSTICE WILL BE DONE" boasts thunderous, almost militaristic percussion, thick grooves, and roaring guitar solos, while anthemic, pump your fist choruses abound from stem to stern. If you need a burly addition to your gym or workout playlist, this song is most definitely it! Play it loud, and you will work up a sweat and get those gains.

"'JUSTICE WILL BE DONE' is one of my favorite songs from the new album," Hook states. "The track is an uptempo ripper which perfectly lends itself to the live set."

Flat Black are currently wrapping their first tour, supporting Godsmack. Remaining dates are below. Future tour plans will be announced soon.

ABOUT FLAT BLACK:
"I feel like FLAT BLACK is a secret I've been keeping for three years," Hook says. "It's finally time to unleash this band on the world. I'm grateful to Sully from Godsmack for giving us the chance to get out on the road and play for such an amazing group of fans."

Despite having reached a commercial summit with his prior band, thanks to multiple platinum certifications, sold-out arena shows, and a string of No. 1 singles, Hook remains as hungry for musical blood and thunder as the day he first picked up a guitar at the age of six. He is eager to not only replicate but to surpass his past successes with his new band.

Having left his prior band in February 2020, which was right before COVID-19 put the entire world on pause, Hook wanted to assume creative control and let his musical free spirit soar in a project that was truly his. He opted to gamble on himself. With great risk comes great reward and the decision to form FLAT BLACK clearly worked out in his favor.

"As a musician, I crave freedom and I wasn't ready to stop creating," Hook shares.

"Life is short," he continues. "We all want to feel satisfied and happy with what we are trying to accomplish in life."

The pandemic shutdown allowed him the opportunity to assemble the right musicians and carefully craft their debut album. FLAT BLACK are armed with an arsenal of riffs that'll rattle your teeth loose from your gums, stadium-sized hooks, arena-ready anthems, and choruses that are guaranteed to touch a nerve. All of those factors combined make FLAT BLACK poised for success.

The origin stories of the rest of the players are indicative of a lifelong love of music and plenty of road-worn experience. The desire to play courses through their veins and propels them forward, which is why they all meshed so well with Hook.

Singer Wes Horton was introduced to music at age 13, thanks to his sister and Guitar Hero. He honed his vocal chops by playing in local bands and making online videos. Various music industry friends and acquaintances would become the connective tissue between himself and Hook. Horton knew he wanted to be a frontman, and FLAT BLACK afforded him that opportunity. Wes loves the fact that his bandmates prioritize songcraft — and that allows him to be the singer he has always wanted to be.

Bassist Nick Diltz, who was born and raised in Los Angeles, is the son of a legendary rock music photographer who brought him to concerts during his formative years. He recalls being inspired by watching a VHS video of U2 performing at legendary venue Red Rocks. Seeing fans clamoring for a piece of Bono in the footage is a vision that never left his head. This first exposure to the power of a true rock icon solidified Nick's destiny as a live performer.

Drummer Rob Pierce hails from Nashville, aka Music City. His dad was a race car driver and his grandfather was a pastor. He grew up racing go karts and at first, wanted to follow in his dad's footsteps until he joined the fourth grade band and was bitten by the music bug. He chose the snare drum over the saxophone and from that moment on, music was the only thing that mattered. Rob got his first drum kit at age 11, which he set up in his dad's car shop. He learned to play his instrument next to 1,000 horsepower engines, which influences his highly energetic style to this day.The chemistry between the players in FLAT BLACK is palpable. And while FLAT BLACK's songs are built to take up real estate in the brains of fans for weeks at a time, the true nature of the band's material is meant to be experienced live. FLAT BLACK are now ready to hit the road and bring these brutal bangers to the masses live and in the flesh.

FLAT BLACK ARE:
Jason Hook — Guitar
Wes Horton — Vocals
Rob Pierce — Drums
Nicholas Diltz — Bass
