RINGWORM Delivers Cataclysmic New Single "Thought Crimes"

Cleveland extreme metal legends RINGWORM have delivered another brutal taste of their highly-anticipated, 9th full-length album, “Seeing Through Fire,” that’s out August 18th from Nuclear Blast Records. Today, the band has released, “Thought Crimes,” a track of epic brutality and relentless aggression.

Commenting on the song, vocalist Human Furnace says:

“Thought Crimes.’ Speed. Aggression. Attack. All the things that come to mind, sonically, when I think of this song. It's a manic song. It makes you move. Lyrically, it's not a political song. It's about trying to have your own thoughts amongst an ocean of controlled marketing, algorithms, and forced tribalism. It's a natural emotional response to being sculpted, directed, and sometimes, ordered, to believe in one thing or the other.”

“Thought Crimes” follows the band’s absolutely devastating first single “No Solace, No Quarter, No Mercy.”            Watch the video below.

RINGWORM will take their sonic fury on tour this fall in support of “Seeing Through Fire,” joining  VENOM INC. for their “Better to Reign In Hell Tour Part 2“ with SATAN and 72 LEGIONS. Tickets are on-sale now!

About RINGWORM:

On the rarest of occasions, there comes along a band that latches on and annihilates your ears with such a unique combination of sounds, you find yourself dislodged from the monotony of every-day music, and rooted firmly in the terrain of admiration. Cleveland Ohio’s RINGWORM are no strangers to this concept, and have been fascinating metalheads with their unorthodox melodies for over 30 years. Now recently signed to Nuclear Blast Records, the guys are preparing to unleash their 9th studio album: “Seeing Through Fire.”

“We wanted to go with a slightly different approach and look than the previous records, it’s a new era for us,” explains vocalist and founder James Bulloch, also known as the Human Furnace. “It’s a little bit of a return to our roots, you have those moments every so often where you wanna get back to your comfort zone, but at the same time you want to expand that comfort zone.”

A different level of sound quality was accomplished with “Seeing Through Fire” as technology allowed RINGWORM to banish any previous restrictions laid upon them during the production and recording processes. Working again with Noah Buchanan of Mercinary Studios in Cleveland, this was the first time everything, including vocals, was all recorded in that same space.

With “Seeing Through Fire” recorded and artwork prepped, the album was packaged and ready to go when Nuclear Blast Records became aware of RINGWORM’s motivation to unleash it in 2023. “We’re fortunate to be able to work with Nuclear Blast, especially at this stage. It opens up a lot of doors for us, and a lot more people can hear what we do. We’re looking forward to working with them; it’s nice having their team, their machine, built around us.”

Look out for RINGWORM’s newest offering: “Seeing Through Fire,” due to be released Summer 2023 via Nuclear Blast Records.

RINGWORM is James ‘Human Furnace’ Bulloch (vocals), Matt Sorg (guitar), Mike Lare (guitar), Ed Stephens (bass).

ASHLEY McBRYDE IS “MADE FOR THIS

GRAMMY Award Winner Releases Opening Track from

On the heels of the announcement of her highly anticipated album The Devil I Know set for September 8 via Warner Music Nashville, GRAMMY award winner Ashley McBryde releases album opener “Made For This.” Pre-order The Devil I Know HERE.

“Travis Meadows and I wrote ‘Made For This,’ and at the time, I was still touring in a van and he was using his truck, so we definitely had touring and the life of musicians top of mind,” shares McBryde. “But this song reaches beyond that. It’s not just touring musicians and bands and crews who are on the road 200+ days a year who are ‘calling home for a telephone goodnight kiss.’ It’s also members of our military, our truck drivers and those that work long or odd hours sacrificing time with their family. We’re lucky we’re made for this.”

Written by McBryde and Meadows, “Made For This” has been a live staple for McBryde and her band Deadhorse, chronicling the long nights spent pursuing a dream, and now finally released as a studio recording:

‘Cause most days you’re stuck in a truck
One big break from blowing up
But one of these days you’re gonna get a bus
       And let somebody else drive
But right now it’s just Adderall, alcohol
Your dressing room is a bathroom stall
‘Cause you turn it on when the big man calls
‘Cause he ain’t gonna call you twice
And it’s calling home for a telephone goodnight kiss
Ya gotta be made for this

Titled after today’s release, season two of McBryde’s “
Made For This” web series will premiere Monday, July 10 at 11 a.m. CT. The series follows McBryde, her band and crew as they travel around the world. From backstage, to the tour bus, to off days, each episode gives a unique, insider perspective on the life of a touring musician.

Climbing the charts and approaching the top 25, “
Light On In The Kitchen” continues to receive applause from critics, earning placement on Rolling Stone’s all-genre “Best Songs of 2023 So Far” while praising the lead single as a “gorgeous tribute to the women who helped shape her” with “luminous guitars and McBryde’s tender delivery,” calling it “a comfortable crash pad for anyone who might take solace in its messages of support.”

The Arkansas native followed with title track “The Devil I Know” featuring “a big Southern-rock chorus with a blast of distorted riffage,” observes
Stereogum, and “Learned To Lie,” which landed on Rolling Stone’s “Best Country Songs of 2023 So Far” sharing, “When it comes to original sin, the devil lies in the details, especially when you’re a crack storyteller. Ashley McBryde tracks the lineage of an inveterate liar with clinical precision…her sneakily brilliant writing will floor you by song’s end.”

McBryde recently accepted the
Billboard Country Power Players Groundbreaker Award, calling her “one of country’s great storytellers – without ever compromising” and noting, “after years of pounding the Nashville pavement, this year’s Groundbreaker has carved out a sweet spot between niche Americana and stadium-scale country-pop.”

As she returned to Nissan Stadium for CMA Fest’s 50th anniversary last month, McBryde will be featured in the CMA Fest television special airing on July 19 at 7 p.m. CT on ABC.

Performing tonight at Wenonah Park in Bay City, Michigan, McBryde will be on the road with headlining shows and festival stops throughout the summer along with dates on Jelly Roll’s Back Road Baptism Tour 2023 and a night with Dierks Bentley at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado before returning to Middle Tennessee for Pilgrimage Festival in Franklin on September 24. King Calaway Explores “The Other Half” Ahead of TENNESSEE’S WAITING Aug. 4 Release

Stoney Creek Records’ King Calaway is one month closer to the release of the group’s August 4 album, Tennessee’s Waiting, with the final taste of what’s to come from the 16-track project arriving today: “The Other Half.”

Written by King Calaway guitarist and co-lead vocalist Chad Jervis alongside Phil Barton and Seth Mosley, “The Other Half” appears on the group’s first full-length album in nearly four years. It's a story of a partially healed heart, half stuck on a love that once was.

"I think we’ve all had someone in our lives that we’ve thought we’ve moved on from, but a part of us was still holding on for dear life. ‘The Other Half’ is about that feeling,” shares Jervis. “Recording this one came so naturally because we knew how we wanted it to sound from the start. Combining our influences of bands like the Eagles to adding big guitar solos and a wall of harmonies and acoustic guitars, we wanted to do the most we could on this one and just have fun. I think you can hear that on the record.”

“We are so proud of how ‘The Other Half’ turned out and just excited it’s finally out. And to be able to play it live for people opening for The Zac Brown Band is truly a dream come true,” adds King Calaway drummer Chris Deaton.

Featuring collaborations with GRAMMY nominee Marcus King, ACM winner Hailey Whitters and Zac Brown on the previously released track, “When I Get Home” — declared a “star-making release” by Billboard – their forthcoming sophomore album showcases smooth vocals and cross genre appeal.

Reflecting on how the album came together, King Calaway lead guitarist Caleb Miller said, “Tennessee’s Waiting is our first full-length project in nearly four years, and we feel so grateful to have created it not only alongside each other as a band, but with some of our closest friends and mentors. To get the opportunity to take the music from the studio to playing it live on tour with Zac Brown Band has been incredible and we can’t wait for more fans to hear it.”

The band currently holds the opening slot on Zac Brown Band’s 2023 From the Fire Tour. "I recognized the talent this young group has and when we started working in the studio, so much more unfolded," Brown previously shared with PEOPLE. "I believe in these guys. When [producer] Keith Stegall bet on me and helped me make my first album, that was the launch of my career,” continuing, “it's great to be able to give [that same opportunity] back."

About King Calaway:
Dubbed “The Eagles meet One Direction” by Billboard, noting their seamless ability at “introducing folky instrumentation to the classic pop mold,” King Calaway has bridged generations of Country fans since their 2019 debut album, Rivers. From performing on national TV shows such as Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late Late Show with James Corden, TODAY, The Kelly Clarkson Show and the internationally acclaimed show Neighbours to making their Grand Ole Opry debut, the band has opened for Garth Brooks, Brooks & Dunn, Rascal Flatts, Lainey Wilson, Gabby Barrett and Scotty McCreery. The band's 2021 EP, Midnight, ushered in their more organic harmonious California Country sound that featured “hooky songs with infectious melodies and big, harmony-rich choruses” (
People). Most recently, the “rising Country band” (Country Now) joined forces with the award-winning Zac Brown as their producer on brand new music, including “When I Get Home” that the guys performed with Zac Brown at Nissan Stadium during last year’s CMA Fest as well as the high-energy track “I’m Feelin’ Good (Steve Miller Band).” Having just wrapped 2022 tours with both Blanco Brown and Dustin Lynch, the band just hit the road with Zac Brown Bandand will release its new Zac Brown-produced album, Tennessee's Waiting, on August 4, 2023. For more information, visit: https://www.kingcalaway.com.

ATTILA Drop New Single "Mia Goth" w/ Ekoh

ATILLA, Atlanta's most notorious dealers of metalcore brutality have dropped new single and accompanying music video, “Mia Goth” today. The track features a guest verse from rapper Ekoh and is out now. Stream “Mia Goth” HERE and watch the visualizer below.

Speaking on the release of their new track ATTILA frontman Chris ‘Fronz’ Fronzak shares

“Mia Goth is a song that was created in a very natural organic way. Once we had the song mapped out we hit up our boy Ekoh to drop a verse. When he ended his line with “Mia goth” everything clicked. We’re all huge fans of Mia Goth and her movies, especially Pearl & X. So we figured “hey, let’s write a song about a hot girl that’s kinda crazy”. Pretty relatable if you ask me haha. The song has a fun energetic vibe and captures everything Attila but with a new flare.”

“Mia Goth” follows the release of the band’s previous single, “Bite Your Tongue”, which came out in April and shocked ATTILA fans around the world with the addition of clean vocals from Fronz for the first time ever on one of the band's tracks. The single has already amassed over 1.75 million streams. Both tracks mark the dawning of a new era for ATTILA, maintaining the band’s signature blend of metalcore, nu metal and deathcore whilst also adding new layers of melodic finesse and instrumental technicality and proving that even after 15 years, they are still one of the most prevalent and prolific forces in the genre.

ATTILLA are currently in Europe where they recently kicked off their world tour celebrating their seminal 2013 album, “About That Life”, which debuted on the Billboard 200 chart at number 22. The tour will hit the US throughout September and October of this year (full dates below). Head to www.attilaband.com for tickets and further information.

Introducing Sleep Theory! Band Signs to Epitaph + Shares "Numb" Video — WATCH😴

EPITAPH RECORDS is pleased to welcome rock band Sleep Theory — vocalist Cullen Moore, guitarist Daniel Pruitt bassist Paolo Vergara, and drummer Ben Pruitt — to its global roster.

"We knew the moment we first met with Epitaph that it was the place we were meant to be," the band exclaims. "Their vision for the band perfectly aligned with ours, and their enthusiasm was second to none. We are beyond excited to be part of the Epitaph family, and call this place our new home."

To celebrate the new partnership, the band has shared the video for the recent single "
Numb." Watch it Below

"Working with [director] Orie [McGinness] on this video was such an incredible experience," the band says. "His vision for 'Numb' was phenomenal, and he truly brought this song to life in ways that we could have only dreamed of."

Sleep Theory's trajectory thus far has been lightning quick and impressive, to say the least.

The numbers don't lie. "Numb" follows the band's debut single "Another Way," which arrived in January 2023 and amassed 500k views on TikTok within 36 hours of release. Together, the two tracks have generated over 13 million streams and each shot to No. 1 on SiriusXM's Octane Chart, sitting in the top slot for three weeks a piece. The reaction was intense, and as such, the band was also selected for SiriusXM/Pandora's Artist Accelerator Program and will be a part of their Next Wave Concert Series in September. This all happened in the span of six months.

But what seemed like an overnight success (or an "industry plant" playing to the algorithm, as some trolls theorized) has actually been years in the making.

Since retiring from the U..S Army several years ago, Moore has dedicated his life to carving his own path in the music industry. Officially starting Sleep Theory in 2019, the current incarnation of his musical journey began as a studio project to fuse his love of hard rock, funk, and R&B.

Now a four-piece band, which came to be on the back of a chance meeting via Facebook Marketplace, Sleep Theory have achieved a pair of No. 1 singles, played their first run of shows to massive crowds, and signed to Epitaph Records. Combining metalcore-like breakdowns with bluesy grooves and a pop sensibility made for modern radio, "Numb" also cracked the Top 40 on the Active Rock chart.

Looking ahead, Sleep Theory will support both Shinedown and Set It on separate tours this summer, with showcases how versatile their sound is and how it appeals to all genres of fans. More touring is planned through 2024, as is more new music!

SLEEP THEORY ON TOUR:
WITH SHINEDOWN:

7/14 — Fargo, ND — Red River Valley Fair
7/16 —Madison, WI — The Sylvee
7/17 — Green Bay, WI — Epic Event Center
7/21 — Gary, IN — Hard Rock Live
7/23 — Niagra Falls, ON — Fallsview Casino

WITH SET IT OFF:
8/25 — Oklahoma City, OK — Diamond Ballroom
8/26 — Dallas, TX — The Echo Lounge & Music Hall
8/28 — Tucson, AZ — Rialto Theatre
8/30 — San Diego, CA — House Of Blues

Horrendous Head Out on Tour of Southwest + CA

HORRENDOUS have given us two early glimpses of 'Ontological Mysterium'. The title track touches down with riffs that churn like an Apache helicopter. while second single "Cult of Shaad'oah" keeps climbing on the backs of duel leads, crashing cymbals and bloody battle cries.

Now it's time for Philly's filthiest and finest progressive death metal band to saddle up their chariots and hit the road. This month, they're touring the Southwest before making their way over into California, where they'll lock horns with PENURY.

The Southwestern Mysterium tour starts tonight in Houston, TX at Black Magic Social Club. On Saturday, July 8, the band are playing a free show in San Antonio at Faust Tavern.

“Surprises always come up during writing — spontaneous ideas pull you into new territory and enable the realization of novel possibilities that previously were inaccessible.”

Such are the words from Horrendous drummer Jamie Knox when discussing the creation of the band’s fifth full-length, the highly anticipated 'Ontological Mysterium'. Knox’s quote also encapsulates Horrendous’s approach to extreme metal. Since 2009, the band has capably tapped into the inaccessible by providing a fresh, unconventional take on death metal that harnesses technical brilliance with elaborate, mind-melding melodies, frothy, spewing vocals and labyrinthine song structures. This combination has made each Horrendous long play a clinic in the gratifyingly unorthodox. The trend continues on Ontological Mysterium.

The follow-up to 2018’s Idol was recorded, mixed and mastered at Subterranean Watchtower Studios in Virginia, which doubles as the homestead of guitarist/vocalist Damian Herring. While the band (completed by guitarist/vocalist Matt Knox and bassist Alex Kulick) finished much of the songwriting for Ontological Mysterium in 2019, its recording was delayed by the 2020 global pandemic and various life events. Horrendous eventually finished recording in early 2022 and mastered the album before the start of 2023.

The album upholds Horrendous’s position as one of the underground’s best outside-of-the-box extreme metal bands. Having long abandoned concern whether people would appreciate their “uniqueness,” Horrendous has embraced its role as a band willing to veer far from death metal conventions, intentionally stretching and breaking norms. To wit, the band primarily views its music as filtered through a death metal lens. This may be Horrendous’s defining trait: By not accepting parameters, nothing is off-limits.

WORMHOLE Supporting Analepsy on North American Tour

Wormhole are emerging from Baltimore's underground with a new album. 'Almost Human' takes the band's homemade tech slam to the next level. Riffs screech with more eerie, alien dissonance, while the rhythm section barrels and flips like Samus in her morph ball. They've also added new vocalist Julian Kersey, who grunts like a cyber demon on lead single "System Erase".

This summer, Wormhole are treating North America to an early taste of 'Almost Human' while supporting Analepsy on a 20+ date tour.

'Almost Human' comes out September 22. Pre-save

When you invent your own genre, you can make the rules, and in space, no one can correct your math. If Wormhole’s excellent The Weakest Among Us was 50% tech death and 50% slamming brutal death metal, their Season of Mist debut is a veritable leveling up of the Baltimore-based act’s trademark “tech slam.” It’s the kind of record that can scramble your brain and give your neck a nice chiropractic workout; Almost Human feels like the future of extreme metal, dropped down from either outer space or delivered by Nintendo cartridge (more on that later).

So, what the hell exactly is “tech slam?” Well, the gleefully amorphous and unholy term comes from an ethos that guitarists Sanil “Noni” Kumar and Sanjay Kumar discovered and perfected over (probably) thousands of hours of Metroid and Doom games, as well as, you know, actual musical mastery. Almost Human, out September 22, 2023, is more powerful, more agile, and more confounding for pie-chart-enthusiasts than anything else that came before it. The sequel is always bigger, darker, and in this case, covered in much more pixelated space horror viscera. My Wormholio calculator puts their sound at 91% tech and 89% slam, with an increase in awesome stats somewhere in the 420% range. There’s also a clear emphasis on amplifying their dissonant death influence, the kind of eerie melodies that feel like being stomped on by Samus.

There’s a clear balance to everything on Almost Human: the songs are more adventurous while also being instantly memorable. No two songs sound alike, and that diversity in songcraft (level design?) sees Wormhole pushing and pulling along their tech and slam dials to figure out what’s best for the song; spoiler, it’s always riffs. What also becomes evident after repeated listens is how carefully the Kumar brothers understand a sense of place, humor, and a consistent vibe. This is still the same band that’s known for throwing on Saturday morning cartoons, and Almost Human continues to hammer home that Wormhole the musical entity is deadly serious, but the guys that make tech slam are not stoic creatures. There’s a warmth and sense of joy when chatting with them that only gets brighter when you ask their favorite Metroid game (that’s a question for a live show). So, what is this vibe they are chasing? Sanjay shares:

“The tech slam imagery is based on Metroid lore, Doom lore, and we haven't written a song about it yet, but Alien as well. Those three things are brutal sci-fi universes, so we're trying to embody that sound. The slam riffs, you can connect the brutal killing of stuff with the brutal chunky riffs; that's been a match that's existed since the nineties. So that's the slam part, and then the tech part was harder to fit that vibe, so we kind of do it differently. I lean into very dissonance-vibe stuff, like Artificial Brain and Dysrhythmia. I think disso-death and heavy, they aren't usually paired together, even though they should be.”

“And then as far as chasing the vibe,” Noni adds, “I kind of go about it two ways. With the Metroid soundtrack or universe, that vibe, there's some dark and gloomy atmosphere, but there's a lot of pretty imagery as well. We wanted to find a way to match that very pretty, kind of out-there sound cohesively in songs with a very aggressive and guttural approach.”

Like another famous sci-fi horror masterpiece of a different media, Wormhole’s shifting, amorphous style is perfectly suited to blend in and amaze just about any fan of heavy music. That’s The Thing: they can pull off whatever they want, but it’s always boiled down to that tech slam vibe. Do you like tech, melody, breakdowns, atmosphere, or dissonance? Tech slam can fill whatever void you seek.

If previous albums were early generation, lower-resolution visions of tech slam, Almost Human is the 4K reboot, where you can see every pixel of terror and awe. Wormhole are absolutely ready for their closeup. Prepare your worms and your holes, tech slam is here to stay.

ABOUT VENOM INC.

As 2015 swept in, it brought with it a solid revival of traditional metal bands. A chance encounter and request brought an offer to Tony Dolan (Vocalist and Bassist) to reform the lineup of VENOM that had recorded the classic Prime Evil album and solid follow-up albums that kept the band very much alive during the onslaught of Grunge and Brit-pop that destroyed all but the most hardy in the early 1990's metal had suffered at the hands of the new trend but VENOM (with this lineup) refused to alter or die and so continued the legacy that had begun when Jeff Dunn (aka Mantas - Guitar)  formed the original band in 1979 and brought the world extreme metal in the form of the Welcome To Hell and Black Metalalbums.

The albums penned mostly by Dunn, exposed the world to a new way of music taken to the extremes, and with a pinch of darkness and the controversial odor they raised their heads from the grave as if they had always been lying in wait and brought chaos to a neatly formed music industry.

Topped off with the voice of Clive 'Jesus Christ' Archer and later by Cronos and The Demolition Man the band was and still is a force of nature. While others attempt to take credit for all things VENOM the truth is not a hidden mystery but rather written on tablets like the ten commandments, but unlike religion, you do not need faith to follow VENOM or their ideas and music but simply ears to hear.

'Somewhere In Time, We Were Born ..' they sing and it has become their mantra. Today's scenes are full of examples taken from this classic band. Images and themes and even a whole genre taking its name from the seminal Black Metal album. The characters were and still are larger than life to fans but it is the music that carries the flame. The true inspiration for all is the dark heavy vibes tinged with a Black and Roll touch.

VENOM INC. began again in 2015 by accident almost and the name was not a choice but given by fans, agents, promoters, etc. On reflection, it is just a matter and fact that this band is true and real and carries the true spirit which began in 1979 and will end their days being that spirit that was lost somewhere over the years. Perhaps it is inevitable for a band to change or grow away from its original intent but every single Legionnaire from the VENOM's Legions knows..their own moment that made them a lifelong fan and so it is to this end that VENOM INC will continue to grow and perform the classics from the legacy with heart and soul and true meaning and will write with this same intent in mind so that new fans too may realize that a real band playing with all they have to give still exists and are still very important in this growing age of digital separation from reality.

“The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.” - Rudyard Kipling

In an era that is designed to beat down and weaken the individual, Black Flame Eternal is an album that represents strength, empowerment, and total opposition. With mounting pressure to engage in modern societal tribalism, Cloak invokes a spiritual rebellion that exists beyond good and evil with album number three.

“All of our albums are created with a spiritual focus, dealing with how we see life, death, and everything in between. I think the earlier records dealt more with the mysteries that surrounded delving deeper into the world of dark spirituality, whereas the new material has taken what we’ve learned and used it to move forward with force,” says Cloak frontman Scott Taysom of the record’s underlying philosophy. “Black Flame Eternal is a statement of spiritual empowerment in every sense. For the first time we want people to grasp on to this sentiment, instead of keeping it completely personal within our world of Cloak. The themes and the sheer power can be felt much more within the songs that this album contains."

“Our goal is complete spiritual liberation, which is where true power and freedom exists,” he adds. “We’ve reached a point in history where people are forced to pick a side or to join a team, so to speak. Cloak stands in complete opposition to this. We aim to be a giant middle finger in the face of the empty modern world.”

While Cloak might rage against societal conventions, the Atlanta quartet embraces the rebellious and time-tested traditions of heavy metal. Whether it be the conjuring the chaotic spirit of Swedish black metal purveyors Watain and Dissection, summoning the deep, dark and sensual groove of Danzig, or evoking the raw speed and raucous energy of Motörhead, the influence of metal’s founding fathers is deep within Cloak’s DNA. Cloak’s charm, however, does not merely lie within its romanticism of the past, but rather is the way each of these genres has shaped Cloak’s own personal identity. And with Black Flame Eternal, the record sees Cloak continue to strengthen its own unique established sound.

Cloak recognizes the importance of a band’s third record, with Taysom explaining, “These influences will always be important to us, as they are some of the best and most important bands of our time. On the other hand, what is so special about getting to the third record of our career is that inspiration starts to move inwards. We had enough experience and material at this point to really know what we do best and how we can utilize these skills in the best way possible. If you look at some of the most iconic bands, their third albums were massive steps towards greatness. So to us, we feel our third record will be a very important one in our time as a band.”

The Atlantan’s evolution is evident in the fury displayed on Black Flame Eternal, which flawlessly compliments the grandiose melodic atmosphere. “This was a conscious effort. Early on before the album even started, I knew it was going to be a much more aggressive and powerful album. I wanted to take a step away from certain sounds and add a bit of brutality back in. The overall vibe matches who we are much more, so it was only fitting to move towards this sound. It almost feels like we are going back to our roots as people in certain ways,” explains Taysom.

Black Flame Eternal follows up sophomore effort The Burning Dawn, which was released in November 2019, with hell unleashing its fury on the globe just a few short months later. As plans to tour the new album around the world came to a screeching halt, the band did not stagger or falter, and instead used this gift of time to write. When reflecting upon the lost years and its impact, Taysom seemingly embraces the situation with little regrets, “Considering Cloak is a sacred space for us, these exterior things did not have as much of an impact as one might think. But it was impossible to ignore some of what was going on throughout these tumultuous years. It’s bound to affect people’s personal lives and the way the mind works during these interesting times. One thing that it did greatly affect was the fact that we could not promote The Burning Dawn properly after the one U.S. tour we did with 1349. We feel this hurt the record, but there was nothing we could do. We were one of the earliest out of the gate after venues started to open back up, and we’ve been continuing to tour in promotion of that album all the way up until now.”

Cloak utilized every minute of this time to focus on fully realizing its vision for Black Flame Eternal. “The initial stage of the writing process started in January of 2020, and lasted all the way until May 2021. It was the longest spanning album process for us so far, with many long days, nights, and weeks trying to piece the songs together the best we could.” While the record did not come together swiftly or easily, the care and attention put into its creation is evident in its powerful composition.

Making up for lost time, these road warriors have already embarked on several high profile North American tours since the autumn of 2021, commanding audiences in every major city with their chaos magick. Each performance merges the spirit of black metal with the backbone of rock ‘n’ roll as the band consistently delivers a blistering set from start to finish. Taysom describes Cloak’s live approach as “a mixture of ethereal atmosphere and total abrasive chaos. The mixture of these two opposing energies is where Cloak lies; the meeting of high and low. To us, this is where the most interesting moments happen, both emotionally and physically.”

With no borders or boundaries, Cloak is ready to embark on this new chapter as the leader of its own pack. The band bows to no one, forging its own path as one of the governing metal forces of this decade as Black Flame Eternal promises to scorch the earth and leave its hallowed mark.

It was never about starting a band. It was just a few old friends getting together to play music for fun. They would meet once a week at a small house deep in the Oklahoma woods they called Ringo Manor. They played old songs, told stories and laughed a lot. Before too long they started writing songs and as the story goes, when you put a bunch of musicians in a room together...they started a band.

Hillbilly Vegas released their first song just a few months after their first jam session at Ringo Manor. A local DJ played that song during his air shift and then it got weird. A Nashville record executive was driving through the area at the very moment that local DJ was playing that first Hillbilly Vegas song. He called the station and just an hour later they were offered a record deal. That fast! Yes, the band is aware that happens to be one of the sub plots in the movie Wayne’s World but it happened. Just like that! Since that wild day the band has charted 5 country singles, along with 2 top 10 and 3 Billboard top 20 rock singles. HOLY CROSSOVER!

Hillbilly Vegas has headlined their own tours as well as a support act for a who’s who in the music world including; Blake Shelton, Travis Tritt, Alabama, Lee Brice, Blackstone Cherry, Wynonna, Kentucky Headhunters, Hellyeah, David Allen Coe, Joe Diffy, Granger Smith, Billy Currington, A Thousand Horses, Insane Clown Posse, Molly Hatchet and many more. And to think it all started in a little house in Oklahoma called Ringo Manor.

Dayseeker are a quiet killer. The band has steadily built a buzz over the past several years — and they have reached a tipping point. Dayseeker built themselves into a scene standout with 2019's Sleeptalk, which was hailed by Alternative Press as  "a warm and welcome release to higher ground" and as "much needed fresh air into the post-hardcore scene." The album has gone on to accumulate over XX million streams, and it positioned the band as a formidable force — and one that is primed to take its next big leap. In 2021, the band dropped a deluxe version of Sleeptalk, featuring four reimagined versions of album tracks, which offered fans a fresh and unique take on songs they already love. It also demonstrated the depth and breadth of the band's creative vision, scope, and possibilities. However, Dark Sun catapulted the band beyond the scene's stratosphere. The album is out now via Spinefarm.

Based out of Iowa, Telekinetic Yeti is a two-man band that delivers sonic brutality melded with psychedelic doom wizardry, forged by the worship of the almighty riff and honed by relentless touring and dedication to their craft.

Creating music as cryptically enchanting as it is heavy, you wouldn't guess that the impressive cacophony pouring out of the speakers like molten, metal syrup is being produced by only two people. Founder and guitarist Alex Baumann explains, “Originally I decided not to have a bass player purely for logistical reasons, it was just another schedule to work around, another person who’s boss could tell us we can’t tour, but then I started seeing it as a challenge, like let’s see how heavy we can make it with just two people.” That started grabbing peoples attention.

Relentless touring and playing pretty much any club that would have them, the band set sail on their epic voyage, selling their debut album Abominable out of their van and cutting their teeth in the underground playing hundreds of shows. All the while receiving rave reviews of their live performance as well as their first release, which landed at #2 on the doom charts and stayed right there for months. The Sludgelord called the eight-song album “a f***ing monster from start to finish,” and The Obelisk, including the album in their year-end, best of list, dubbed it the “debut of the year,” and said “it could have been another band’s second or third record for the level of cohesion on display.”

The video for “Stoned and Feathered” racked up nearly a few hundred thousand views and counting. It was at this time that Telekinetic Yeti caught the attention of Ozzy Osbourne bass player, Blasko, who named Abominable on his “5 favorites” list.

People were starting to catch on, and soon thereafter Telekinetic Yeti would be invited to tour extensively with some of the best heavy rock bands in the business, including Clutch, Black Label Society, Red Fang and Weedeater.

Now the band finds itself in a much different, auspicious position, and with the help of famed producer Phillip Cope (Baroness, Kylesa, Damad, Black Tusk et al), Telekinetic

Yeti returns with their eagerly-anticipated, second full-length album, Primordial. With this release, the band takes their game to a whole new level. Primordial explores themes as diverse as evolution, sorcery, black magic and the contradictions of the gloriously uplifting yet simultaneously melancholic human condition. " I wanted to write something that was an appropriate intro to the album, that brought to mind an early earth setting and featured atmospheric elements as well as some droning, sparse simplicity and lyrically, simple imagery regarding the dawn of humankind and creation of the first tools." Explains Baumann of the title track.

As it unfolds, the album evolves into a cathartic exploration turning themes into tangible sounds and haunting fugues. Says Baumann regarding the inspiration behind “Beast”: "This song is about wanting to escape the societal constraints that keep us on the wheel, toiling away, indefinitely. Its also about questioning authority figures, or really anyone that claims to have all the answers."

Matured songwriting, creatively brutal riffs and an exercise in monstrous tones make this listen an immersive experience taking you back to explore and appreciate the primordial ooze that we all came from. Telekinetic Yeti has partnered with stalwart Indie label, Tee Pee Records.

American Hard Rock band Artifas was formed in 2011 in Jackson, TN by lead guitarist Cody Criswell and lead vocalist Scottie Somerville. In the months following, the two founders of the group would immediately recruit an assortment of hometown musicians and begin looking to record their debut EP. After having a long and ugly encounter that resulted in the theft of all the bands funds and receiving no album in return, the original incarnation of the group would spend 2012-2013 doing several independent tours and writing music. After debuting with their EP Enemy Inside in 2013 and doing numerous regional/national tours in support of it, the band replaced former members with guitarist Mikey Miller, bassist Anthony Mattox, and drummer Stephen Hatmaker.

With almost two years of touring with the new lineup under their belts, Artifas inked themselves a record deal and hit the studio to make their first full length album. The 2015 release of the title track, “Inhuman,” would bring the band some commercial success, reaching # 32 on Billboard’s Active Rock chart and sending the band on the road in support of their new album. The band landed tours with established artists like Theory of a Deadman, Shamans Harvest, Pop Evil, Saint Asonia, Aranda, and others. The follow up single from that record, “Blood 4 Blood”, would later get picked up by the World Series of Fighting and subsequently land a feature in the UFCmovie “Fight Valley”. The band parted ways with their record label in 2016, and remained on tour throughout the US for most of the following year, also traveling internationally for the first time with the likes of Papa Roach, Hoobastank, P.O.D., Trapt, and Sick Puppies to play for our American Troops.

Multiple tour cycles later, Artifas found themselves back in the studio making new music. The band worked with multiple writers and producers throughout the entirety of 2018, but would ultimately only find themselves frustrated with the recordings that resulted. After a soul search within the group, Artifas elected to embrace their own vision and write/produce their next album independently, free from the creative overreach of outside influence.

After two years of writing, recording, and mixing, Artifas completed the new album, and unleashed it upon the world. With catchy guitar riffs, dizzying drums, and soaring melodies, Reflections will send you on an emotional journey, exploring the band’s semi-prog, radio rock sound while diving deeper into the human complex with lyrics centered around self awareness and the bands own struggles with mental health. The goal for the creation of this album was to make a record that met the band’s expectations and you can rest assured they held nothing back. Mixed and Mastered by Forrester Savell (Twelve Foot Ninja, Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus), Reflections promises to wow you with musical prowess, all the while delivering Artifas’ important message on unity, inspiration, and the sempiternal battle between dark and light.

Years in the making, 96 BITTER BEINGS' "Synergy Restored" is 11 songs of relentless power and vibe. Four-on-the-floor, fuzzy and visceral, proper rock n’ roll made by an actual band, rather than a bunch of over-processed samples and otherwise stale shenanigans. Songs like “Vaudeville’s Revenge,” “90 Car Pile-Up,” and “Wish Me Dead” offer vivid reminders of the truth-telling prowess of guitars, bass, and drums. Miller is on fire, weaponizing the same knack for memorable musical epiphanies behind projects like Foreign Objects, World Under Blood and CKY.

About 96 BITTER BEINGS:

Deron Miller gives his life to the riff. Unrestrained by industry expectations and genre limitations, the boundlessly prolific guitarist and voice behind multiple beloved projects is best known as the founder, frontman, and songwriter in CKY. His authentic and effortlessly hooky heavy rock obsession returns with 96 BITTER BEINGS. Reinvigorated and ready to rumble all over again, Miller roars back with the same reverence for riffage that made underground hits out of CKY anthems like “Flesh Into Gear,” “Escape from Hellview,” and “Disengage the Simulator” from 1998 till 2011.

The familiar warmth, feel, groove, and unapologetic honesty which drove the song “96 Quite Bitter Beings” to 54 million streams (on Spotify alone) permeates the pair of albums unleashed by 96BB.

A successful crowdfunding campaign saw Miller, guitarist Kenneth Hunter, bassist Shaun Luera and Shaun’s brother, drummer Tim, conjure up 2018’s "Camp Pain" in limited release. North American touring followed, wrapping up shortly before the COVID-19 shutdowns.

“After CKY and a short break, I decided to continue, without changing the sound,” Miller explains. “Because that’s what I do. It’s what I love to do and what people say I do well. All of the guys who got in the band with me are great musicians. And each of them is hungry. They have priorities and ambitions about being in a rock band, no matter the grim state of pop music out there. If we can bring rock and metal back to the mainstream, in some way, that’s the dream.”

96 BITTER BEINGS Lineup:
Deron Miller - Vocals/Guitar
Matthew Janaitis - Bass
Tuomas Vuorio - Drums

Spy-themed surf rock from GUITARMY OF ONE. New single ‘Top Secret Agent Man on a Wire Tapped Phone at Sea’ is out now

“An accomplished ex-punk who has made the striking transition to atmospheric soundtracks” ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Helland has tapped something interesting and, dare we say, magical... Soundtracks for the movie in our minds" ~ PopMatters

"Fom hardcore punk to thrash metal, to folk-punk cabaret, to working with J. Mascis (Dinosaur Jr.), and more; Helland never fails to surprise with his continuous evolution as an artist" ~ Ghost Cult Magazine

"Outlandish, playful, mysterious... plays out like the soundtrack to an old detective television show" ~ Alt77

NYC-based surf rock artist
Guitarmy of One presents the single ‘Top Secret Agent Man on a Wire Tapped Phone at Sea’, the first taste of his forthcoming album ‘The Wave Files’. Crowdfunded via Kickstarter, this record picks up where ‘The Spy Detective Collective’ LP left off.

Guitarmy of One is the solo project of guitarist
Scott Helland, who combines the thrilling sounds of spy-themed instrumental surf guitar music with punk vitality. Taking listeners on a sonic adventure to the realms of intrigue, danger and surf-soaked excitement, Helland channels that raw and unconventional spirit into a quirky fusion of genres.

Helland got his start playing bass guitar in the 80s-90s hardcore punk scene, first with Deep Wound, which he formed with J Mascis and Lou Barlow (of Dinosaur Jr.) and later with East Coast hardcore and crossover thrash stalwarts Outpatients, School of Violence and Darkside NYC. Going solo in the mid-90s, he released numerous eclectic instrumental albums before forming post-punk dark pop cabaret duo
Frenchy and the Punk in 2005  with French singer Samantha Stephenson.

"I wanted this album to be music you want to travel with - in your mind or physically. It’s action music, and I think it should ignite your imagination and take you on a journey. Wordless music relies on the visuals it creates so if it can take you on a sonic adventure across continents, or at least counties, my work is done," says Scott Helland.

"The idea for this album is rooted in spy and detective shows from the 60s, 70s and 80s. I want the music to be a sonic equivalent of those shows and movies where you’re riding the waves of intrigue and espionage so the music has to match that sense of urgency and excitement."

Influenced by Spanish guitar, punk and metal, Guitarmy of One conjures up images of secret agents, high-speed chases, and hidden agendas through his intricate layered compositions. His mix of surf guitar techniques (i.e. reverb-drenched chords, lightning-fast tremolo picking, and tremolo bar vibrato albeit with a Bigsby bridge pedal) creates a sonic landscape that is both nostalgic and forward-thinking.

As a full-fledged espionage-inspired surf rock act, Guitarmy of One takes us on a thrilling musical journey, blending the realms of instrumental guitar, surf music and the mystique of spy themes within the one person band format. Helland weaves his mysterious and generous acoustic-electric melodies over propulsive spy riffs and electro beats, layering and building patiently toward engrossing payoffs.

Scott Helland explains, "Top Secret Agent Man on a Wire Tapped Phone at Sea’ is inspired by the 1966 song by Johnny Rivers ’Secret Agent Man’. It starts with a reverb soaked low guitar octave and then goes into the main driving bass line and drum beat and the reverbed guitars blast in after that. It was one of the last songs I wrote for the album so naturally I thought it should be the first single as it has this fresh upbeat vibe. I think for the first single it captures the excitement of The Waves Files theme."

Guitarmy of One’s live performances are a spectacle as the stage becomes a laboratory of sound, as layers of guitar riffs, bass lines, and percussion intertwine and overlap, creating a lush and dynamic musical tapestry. Armed with a guitar, loop pedals, drum pads and an array of effects pedals, Helland creates a symphony of sound right before your eyes.

As of June 23, "Top Secret Agent Man on a Wire Tapped Phone at Sea’ will be available across digital platforms, including
SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp, where the full album can already be pre-ordered. On August 18, 'The Wave Files' album will be released on CD, as well as digitally.

L.S. Dunes Share "Benadryl Subreddit" Video — WATCH

POST-HARDCORE BAND SHARES VIDEO FOR FIRST NEW MUSIC SINCE LAST YEAR"S ACCLAIMED DEBUT LP PAST LIVES

BAND SET FOR EXTENSIVE U.S. SUMMER TOUR

Today L.S. Dunes — vocalist Anthony Green, guitarist Frank Iero, bassist Tim Payne, guitarist Travis Stever, and drummer Tucker Rule — unveil a dazzling new psyche-metal track entitled "
Benadryl Subreddit." It's the post-hardcore band's first new music since the release of their landmark debut album, 2022's Past Lives. Get "Benadryl Subreddit" HERE.

In the trac'’s trippy new video, a mischievous ice-cream truck guy (aka Anthony Green) serves up some magical treats to unsuspecting clientele.

Watch the clip, directed by Nick and Pat Demarais, below

"Benadryl Subreddit" was produced by Alex Newport (Mars Volta, Frank Turner, City & Colour) and recorded at Rancho De La Luna in Joshua Tree, CA. L.S. Dunes join a long list of renown artists who have found inspiration at the famed high-desert studio including Arctic Monkeys, Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters, Afghan Whigs and Iggy Pop and many others. To pre-order the special L.S. Dunes "Benadryl Subreddit" 7-inch single, visit the band's webstore HERE.

"'Benadryl's' title comes from a conversation that Mikey Way (My Chemical Romance) and I were having one night on tour about sober guys finding out legal ways of getting high without doing actual drugs and messing with their sobriety," says Iero. "The music for this song came about when I knew we were going into the desert to record with Alex Newport at Rancho De La Luna. I had just received a new guitar in the mail from Ben Wasser at Guitarworks called 'The Shaft' and I got to thinking about the desert and what I thought that guitar should sound like in that setting. That riff came out immediately. 'Benadryl Subreddit' represents the heat of the day out in the desert, sweating bullets and going fast."

"In the early stages of the demo, it was clear this song needed to be recorded and released sooner than many of the other songs we've been working on," shares Stever. "It captures an energy for the moment. It's hard to keep hold of the energy and aim from demo to final recordings. I feel like with Alex Newport we did it!"

Rule concurs, saying, "Frank sent this infectious riff, and I immediately knew what I was going to play. The chemistry of this band is undeniable, and I love it so much."

Earlier this month, the band released another ingenious new video ⏤ a glorious send-up of '70s Japanese Sci-Fi horror flix for fan-favorite "Grey Veins."

About STELLAR CIRCUITS:

Formed in 2015, Stellar Circuits emerged to combine the conceptual polarities of groove-oriented music with progressive-minded technicality. Over the quartet’s lifespan, they’ve managed to fulfill their own prophecy, formulating a core sound that is complex and layered, while providing a listenability that extends well beyond the rock genre. Visceral, intellectual, groovy, technical, and melodious are rarely indicators that can all be used to describe the aural essence of one band. In the case of Stellar Circuits, the rare combination makes a striking and definitive appearance in all they do.

The Winston-Salem, NC foursome followed their 2015 debut EP with their first full-length album in 2018. "Ways We Haunt" would be recorded with North Carolina’s own Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me, He Is Legend), a legend in his own right, bringing his signature touch to Stellar Circuits’ first long form release.

Generating significant attention, especially from the band’s more veteran industry peers, Stellar Circuits would go on to be invited as special guests on Chevelle’s 2021 N.I.R.A.T.I.A.S. tour. Completing a nationwide trek that introduced Stellar Circuits to a significantly broader audience, the foursome immediately saw their fanbase increase exponentially, prompting a shift in their attention to a new record with which they could continue to build on the solid foundation they had since established.

"Sight to Sound," Stellar Circuits’ sophomore release, sees the band working once again with Jamie King to convey their growth and expansion on what they do best. Vocalist frontman Ben Beddick highlights the forward momentum, relaying how the band “wanted to push past the point of comfort when writing this music. To make something real and honest that we can all stand by.”

Coming to audiences around the world via Nuclear Blast Records, "Sight to Sound" expands upon the progressive and groove-centric nature of the band; combining a heaviness, a catchiness, and strength of composition with technical proficiency that results in Stellar Circuits’ most polished release to date. Vocalist Ben Beddick further expands on the writing process and the record’s trajectory, marking a “turning point around the beginning of the writing process that steered us toward a particular conceptual direction. Moving closer to an understanding of the perception of our senses.  This record is meant to serve as a sort of invocation. A sense of qualia. The term ‘synesthesia’ comes to mind…”.

Comprised of vocalist Ben Beddick, bassist Jesse Olsen, guitarist Jared Stamey and drummer Tyler Menon, the North Carolina quartet produce an effective and unparalleled coalescence that will undoubtedly excite new listeners while more than satisfying long-term followers. Featuring 11 original tracks that are poised to impress even the most discerning of aficionados, "Sight to Sound" puts the global music landscape on notice that Stellar Circuits has definitively arrived.

Weathers cycle through vibes at the speed of life. Text messages to cheaters, actual conversations about mental health among friends, and a shared passion for eighties and nineties nostalgia (coming-of-age comedies, in particular) turn into fodder for their undeniable and unforgettable alternative anthems. The acclaimed Los Angeles trio—Cameron Boyer [vocals, guitar], Cameron Olsen [guitar] and Brennen Bates [bass]—infuse their third full-length offering, Are We Having Fun? [Sumerian Records], with gleeful unpredictability.

“It’s meant to be unpredictable,” affirms Boyer. “Since there’s a cohesive sound, you’re essentially living in the same universe, but you’re listening to a bunch of different stories. We dug into how relationships and love can fuck with your head as much as anything else can. We welcomed the changes in our lives, because it was time to evolve—which is also when you should do a new record.”

The band initially emerged back in 2015. A year later, they released the breakthrough single “Happy Pills”, amassing over 171 million Spotify streams and counting. They parlayed this momentum into Kids in the Night (2018) and Pillows & Therapy (2021). The latter boasted fan favorites such as “Rehab”“Losing Blood”, and “C’est la vie”, which reeled in over 28 million Spotify streams and counting. Meanwhile, Billboard proclaimed, “Their message empowers through the acceptance of something we all consider flaws at some point.” Of Pillows & Therapy, Under The Radar noted, “The band married grungey alt rock and synth-laden pop rock, embracing newly anthemic sounds as well as revisiting their ‘90s influences,” while Beyond The Stage Magazine proclaimed, “Weathers’ Pills & Therapy is the best medicine.”

Throughout 2022, they wrote and recorded what would become Are We Having Fun? with producer Jason Suwito (Sir Sly, Imagine Dragons). They absorbed the ebbs and flows of the Post-Pandemic season in their music as they sonically nodded to classic bands like My Chemical Romance and The Killers.

“We were kids in the two-thousands, so we love over-the-top emotional tunes with a heavier sound,” Boyer goes on. “When we were making the record, we were feeling a bit of rage and sort of doomed. So we asked ourselves, ‘Is this even fun anymore? Or, are we doing this because we’re stuck?’ Since the music encompasses a lot of raw emotion, we decided to be very honest with the title.”

“We want you to walk away feeling like you were heard, and it’s okay to not be okay,” Boyer leaves off. “At the same time, we’re trying to get out of the darkness, because no one wants to be in the dark for too long. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel. When you’re on the floor crying, you’re not the only one.”

“To us, Weathers is a lifestyle and a family,” Brennen concludes. “So, it’s important for the three of us to express ourselves, stick together, and support each other as well as everybody out there who supports us.”

"Songs For A Cause" Raises $2,500 for Opry Trust Fund

Morris Higham Managment’s songwriter series “Songs for a Cause” returned June 21, to a sold-out house at Nashville’s historic Bluebird Cafe. The evening of song featured performances from GRAMMY, CMA, ACM, and DOVE Award-winning songwriter, Tia Sillers; GRAMMY, DOVE, and 35 time IBMA-Award winner, Jamie Dailey of Dailey & Vincent; Season 22 Winner of "The Voice" making his Bluebird debut, Bryce Leatherwood; and songwriter Jeffrey East. In addition, Grand Ole Opry matriach and GRAMMY-winning singer/songwriter Jeannie Seely surprised the sold out crowd with a song she co-wrote with the late Glen Campbell.

In total, proceeds from the event tallied to $2500 benefiting Opry Trust Fund. Both Jamie and Jeannie spoke of their love and respect for Opry Trust Fund as Jamie is a former board member who worked through the COVID pandemic and Jeannie spoke of how the Fund helped her when she lost everything in the 2010 flood.

“The Opry is often referred to as a country music family,” said Dan Rogers, Opry executive producer and president of the Opry Trust Fund. “For nearly 60 years, that family has assisted members of the country music community in need through the Opry Trust Fund. With thanks to Opry members Jeannie Seely and Jamie Dailey as well as their friends plus so many others who will assist the Trust Fund this year, that important work is guaranteed to continue.”
