Ian Munsick Shares Stripped-Down Tracks from "White Buffalo" on "Me and a Fiddle" EP, Out Now

Whether bathed in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains or illuminated by the spotlight at CMA Fest’s Nissan Stadium, Ian Munsick is perhaps most at home when it’s just him and a fiddle. Today he shares five stripped-down tracks from his critically acclaimed album White Buffalo on the Me and a Fiddle EP (listen HERE). Intimate live performance videos of each track take the viewer to the majestic landscape of Sun Valley, Idaho alongside Munsick and violinist Tim Hayes (watch Below).

“Country music is at its finest when you strip it down. All the best songs translate the same (if not better) when all the noise is muted and it’s just a voice and one instrument. Well… maybe two instruments, cuz you know I gotta have a fiddle," shares Munsick. "I believe these five stripped versions from White Buffalo will take you right into my childhood living room in Wyoming where I fell in love with songwriting in the first place. Back where it all began. Just me and a fiddle.”

Hailed “Western music royalty” by The Tennessean, the Wyoming native earned accolades from Billboard, American Songwriter, GRAMMY.com, MusicRow and more for his 18-song sophomore album White Buffalo. Holler declared, “Through Munsick’s carefully crafted new project, you can experience the emotional ebbs and flows of the Green River, feel the highs and lows of the Grand Teton and witness the wild, free-spirited euphoria of a band of mustangs riding off into the sunset.” “Long Live Cowgirls,”the album’s celebrated duet with Cody Johnson, has earned more than 100 MILLION streams and been certified Gold by the RIAA.

Fans can see Munsick and a fiddle – and a whole lot more – at fairs and festivals throughout the summer. He will join Morgan Wallen’s One Night At A Time World Tour on Aug. 11 (Ohio Stadium) and Aug. 30 (PNC Park) before heading out this fall on his own headlining The Buffalo Roams Tour. The run, announced last week, will feature a rotating lineup of special guests including Giovannie & The Hired Guns, Randall King, Triston Marez, Catie Offerman, Tanner Usrey, Jake Worthington and Chancey Williams. About Ian Munsick:
A native son of Wyoming, Ian Munsick is painting a stampeding, spirited portrait of the American West with his sophomore albumWhite Buffalo, out now. The 18-track album spans unfiltered tales of romance and ranch life, hard-working anthems with honkytonk hooks and mountain-time odes to family and forever-young fun. It builds upon the spacious roots-pop beauty he introduced on his major label debut, Coyote Cry. Over the past three years, the 30-year-old has accumulated nearly half a billion global streams and a host of accolades. He has been named an “Artist to Watch” by Spotify, CMT, Fender, MusicRow and more. A seasoned entertainer, having grown up tending cattle by day and playing music in a family band each night, Munsick toured recently alongside country music superstars Morgan Wallen and Cody Johnson. Beyond his noteworthy professional accomplishments, he has also become both a husband and a father. Now the Warner Music Nashville recording artist and multi-instrumentalist is representing his home, and its special cast of people, like never before. The first release from White Buffalo, standout duet “Long Live Cowgirls” (with Cody Johnson), hit No. 1 on SiriusXM’s The Highway Hot 30 Countdown, was named one of Amazon Music’s Best Country Songs of 2022 and recently received RIAA Gold-certification alongside “Long Haul” off his debut album Coyote Cry. Fans of Ian Munsick will always find an open heart, natural awe and plainspoken honesty as he rides on… bringing the West to the rest.

BEYOND THE GATES EXPERIENCE

So this is it, folks - Beyond the Gates 2023 in all its glory! The festival is now revealing the daily schedules and is extremely excited to announce that its going even bigger this year! For the first time ever, Beyond the Gates will move into the new venue Kjødehallen, or simply "Hallen," which is an old ship hangar. Hallen is located behind Røkeriet, and both are a part of the expanded cultural complex, USF Verftet.

The old main stage, Røkeriet, which will still be used, is tied to Hallen by a huge parking lot where you’ll find food trucks, seated areas, DJs and more!

The concerts will alternate between two venues - Røkeriet and Hallen.

In addition, the shorter changeover times has given the festival the opportunity to add another band. Please welcome Spirit Possession to this already impressive lineup, who will now open the festival on Wednesday. This incredible duo knows how to encapsulate their riffs in pure magic.

Be aware that the festival has sold out in several categories, including day tickets for Grieghallen on Saturday. There are only 10 festival passes left and club tickets are running low too. In other words - no need to sit on the fence.

Another stop on the trek is the location of the original Os Rock Club where Mayhem rehearsed before the recording “DMDS” in Grieghallen, and also regular rehearsal place for Old Funeral and Amputation.

Beyond the Black Metal Classics - a guided tour of Grieghallen with Pytten

If you want to get an in-depth look at how some of the most renowned black metal classics from the 90s came together, look no further! Legendary producer Pytten has offered to take the Beyond the Gates audience on a guided tour of Grieghallen, where he recorded seminal albums such as Enslaved’s Vikingligr Veldi, Frost and Eld, the first two Emperor albums, In the Nightside Eclipse and Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk, Gorgoroth’s Pentagram and Antichrist,Mayhem’s De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, and Immortal’s Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism, Battles in the North.  Beyond the Black Metal Classics - FRIDAY TICKETS

Beyond the Black Metal Classics - SATURDAY TICKETS

“As a festival, Beyond the Gates is immediately lovable. Bergen is intrinsically part of that embrace… Sure, Norway’s expensive, but seeing the best bands out there, taking in a Tolkienesque fjord or two, pilgrimaging to Fantoft church, hitting up Gaahl’s art gallery (Galleri Fjalar) nestled in the quaint houses at Bryggen while Freyr gleefully and continually pisses rain on you from the heavens? All worth its weight in hordes of kroner.” - Decibel Magazine, December 2022 issue

Since the inception of the Beyond the Gates festival, fans have been coming to Bergen to see performances of their favorite Norwegian artists in their home environment. As most visitors know, nature and local culture has always been a poignant source of inspiration for the bands emerging from the Bergen scene. Yet again, Beyond the Gates will give all of the traveling fans the opportunity to get an unique insight into all aspects of the Norwegian Metal scene and the local culture in general. In that regard, we’re putting together a series of events before and during the festival so that all of you can discover what inspired – and still does - the Norwegian metal scene.

More special events will be announced, including an very special art gallery exhibition of a certain well-known singer and wine enthusiast at Bryggen in Bergen as well as guided tour to the infamous Fantoft Stave Church.

In addition, there will be exclusive listening parties, music and culture panels, in-depth live interviews, and a wealth of of events and activities that will give you a Beyond the Gates Experience that will last for a lifetime. Stay tuned for more...

BLACK TUSK Touring this Fall

God is going on vacation. Not only are Black Tusk working on a new album, they're bringing good times and mutilation to eight U.S. cities this fall.

Set your dial for August 29, when these  Savannahans bring their swampy brew of punk and metal to Harrisonburg, Virginia. From there, they'll boom up and down the East Coast like a shotgun blast, bringing punks and metalheads to their knees, all the way from New York City to Chapel Hill.

Along the way, the band will team up for a co-headlining set with Dysrhymthmia, before driving face first into South Carolina for one more night of red eyes and black skies.

When BLACK TUSK first hit the streets with their debut EP, ‘When Kingdoms Fall’ in the year 2005, the band had grown out of the Savannah scene but right from the start with their own twist. The three-piece consisting of guitarist Andrew, Athon on bass, and drummer James with all sharing vocal duties added a dash of punk as well as a viscous heaviness and groove to the Savannah school of rock that some critics compared with various stoner and sludge outfits.

Flanked by further EPs, split-singles, and demos, BLACK TUSK steadily expanded both in reach and number of die-hard followers with each successive album, ‘The Fallen Kingdom’ (2007), ‘Passage Through Purgatory’ (2008), ‘Taste the Sin’ (2010), ‘Set the Dial’ (2011), and ‘Pillars of Ash’ (2016). Partly responsible for their success, are the strong live shows of the trio, which garnered early attention on tour with such heavy-weights as BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, DOWN, WEEDEATER, and EYEHATEGOD. Meanwhile the band has toured and performed at most major metal festivals both at home and overseas.

‘Pillars of Ash’ sadly had to appear posthumously for one member as the band had tragically lost their charismatic bass-player Athon through a motorcycle accident. With a heavy heart, BLACK TUSK decided to honour Athon’s memory by carrying on and recruited veteran musician and already long-time friend Corey Barhorst (EX-KYLESA) to take over his duties on the low end.

With the 6th studio album ‘TCBT’, which was recorded at The Garage Savannah and mixed by engineer and long-time collaborator Chris “Scary” Adams, BLACK TUSK showed the world they lived through the kind of hardship and heartbreak that would cripple a lesser band. But it’s that dedication, gumption, and pure bullheaded stubbornness that took care of business, keeps taking care of business – and Taking Care of Black Tusk.

Line-up:

Andrew Fidler: guitar, vocals
James May: drums, vocals
Derek Lynch: bass, vocals
Chris "Scary" Adams: guitar

Taking Back Sunday Return With "The One" — WATCH

BELOVED ROCK BAND SHARES FIRST NEW TRACK IN FOUR YEARS — LISTEN HERE

BAND ALSO SIGNS TO FANTASY RECORDS

HEADLINING SAD SUMMER FEST BEGINNING JULY 6

Today, rock powerhouse Taking Back Sunday — John Nolan (lead guitar, piano, vocals), Adam Lazzara (lead vocals), Shaun Cooper (bass), and Mark O'Connell (drums) — shared a brand-new track and video entitled "The One," the multi-platinum selling rock band's first new music in over four years. An inspiring declaration of love, hope, and acceptance, "The One" is a soaring reminder to seize the moment and live your dreams while you still can.

Listen to "The One"
here.

In the track's accompanying video, directed by DJay Brawner, the band primes for the next gig and new roads that lay ahead — inviting us along for the mystery ride.

Watch the official video for "The One" BELOW

Produced by Tushar Apte (Demi Lovato, Nicki Minaj), and mixed by Neal Avron (Twenty One Pilots, Bleachers), "The One" finds the influential rock band flexing its creative muscles and evolving its sound without ever losing sight of the explosive riffs, affecting vocals, and epic choruses that has resonated with their audiences for so long. The anthemic new track also marks the band's first release for Fantasy Records, the L.A based indie label who signed the influential quartet to a world-wide recording contract earlier this year.

"'The One' is a sweet love song — full on John Cusack holding a boombox," the band says in a nod to the classic '80s cinema moment in Say Anything. "We've been waiting a long time to share this song and we're so excited that we finally can. We hope you love it as much as we do."

On the track's deeper meaning, the band explains, "This song came from a riff that Shaun Cooper wrote the day he lost his grandmother while she was in a nursing home at the start of the Covid pandemic. Devastated with overpowering sadness, he found comfort in writing music and initially titled the riff 'Posivibes' in an effort to find some light through the darkness. He never shared the story of the title or how that riff came together with us until after it was complete. Shaun didn’t want his story affecting the ultimate meaning of the song, because it’s actually an uplifting one."

Taking Back Sunday is set to hit the road this summer for a nation-wide tour (they are calling "Rad Summer"), that includes headlining the 16-date Sad Summer Fest 2023 through July and a plethora of additional dates in August and September. Find tickets HERE and the full routing below.

For over two decades, Taking Back Sunday have cultivated a massive, dedicated fanbase built around music that reverberates with supreme sincerity, desire, and connection. Originally from Long Island, NY, the band brought mature songcraft and pop sensibilities to punk's rigid conformity, helping expand the genre's contours while carrying the band to new heights.

MY LIFE WITH THE THRILL KILL KULT Announce Replacement Dates to SUMMER 2023 EVIL EYE TOUR!

With the succesful Spring run of their 2023 EVIL EYE TOUR disrupted by GROOVIE MANN's injury and subsequent hospitalization in Texas, MY LIFE WITH THE THRILL KILL KULT has announced that they will be returning to those missed cities with their Summer run starting in August! Starting in San Jose, CA at The Ritz, previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled shows where indicated below, and the band has added a handful of new dates as well.

“Somewhere along the road between Las Vegas and Texas, Groovie Mann acquired a serious staphylococcus infection in his hand, which quickly spread up his left arm. Initially, he wasn’t responding to antibiotics and ended up in a Dallas hospital where he underwent numerous tests, IV drips and medications. Luckily, the doctors were able to contain the infection and were able to release Groovie with oral antibiotics after spending 9 days in the hospital. Unfortunately this caused the band to postpone over a weeks worth of shows and most of the dates have now been rescheduled for August."

Hailing from Chicago’s renowned Wax Trax! Records stable of artists, MY LIFE WITH THE THRILL KILL KULT have been conjuring up sonic tales of sex, blasphemy and kitschy horror since 1987. The band helped develop the industrial music genre, yet have continued to expand their style, creating one of the most diverse repertoires in modern music. Electronic rock, heavily influenced by both disco and funk can best describe their sound, while spoken-word samples lifted from B-movies gives the band their signature mark. They have released 14 studio albums, a slew of remix compilations, and have contributed to a variety of soundtracks and film scores, including a cameo performance in the 1994 cult movie classic The Crow.

Artist Franke Nardiello and musician Marston Daley, two Chicago neighbors who enjoyed late night binges watching trashy exploitation films and horror flicks, wanted to make their own movie to be called “My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult”. While the project never came to fruition, they wrote some music to be the accompanying soundtrack. Both worked at the Wax Trax record store, and when label founders Jim Nash and Dannie Flesher heard the songs, they were intrigued. Using the film title as the name of the band, they released a 3-song EP in early 1988. The response was overwhelming, and it was clear fans wanted to hear more.

Taking the stage names Groovie Mann (Nardiello) and Buzz McCoy (Daley), the duo began to focus on music full time. They created an occult meets leather biker image to compliment the band’s name which included enlisting a bevy of voluptuous back-up singers / dancers known as the BOMB GANG GIRLZ. In June of ’88, they flew to label mate Luc Van Acker’s studio in Belgium to record their first album, I See Good Spirits and I See Bad Spirits. It was recorded in just ten days, and mixed in another ten days at Southern Studios in London. The fans ate it up! They followed up with two hard-hitting dance floor 12” tracks - Kooler Than Jesus (1989) and Cuz It’s Hot (1990), which features no-wave chanteuse Lydia Lunch on vocals. The New York Times wrote, “Sex, blasphemy, big beats and go-go dancing; they’re all in a day’s work for My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult”. This attracted the attention of indie fans, as well as the ire of the PMRC and conservative religious groups in practically equal measure. By the time of their sophomore release, Confessions Of A Knife (1990), they were far and away one of the biggest selling acts on the label.

1991 saw the release of their third album, Sexplosion!, a calculated sonic and visual departure from their previous work. 1950’s pin-up models replaced the demonic imagery, while sleazy stripper horns, disco beats and house diva vocals (provided by artist Shawn Christopher) took prominence over the more abrasive musical elaments. They put together a provocative stage show, complete with spinning police lights, mirror balls and a stocked bar with bartender to serve the scantily clad musicians and dancers while they performed. Alternative Press reviewed the show as “Sin-sational!”, while Melody Maker described it as “A Cabaret from Hell”. It was a huge success, and the album sold so well (fueled by the phenomenal radio hit “Sex On Wheelz”) that the group signed a deal with Interscope Records shortly afterwards and released two more albums - 13 Above the Night (1993), and Hit & Run Holiday (1995).

Hollywood also embraced the KULT, recognizing the unique cinematic aspect in their sound. Most notably, the band scored five songs for animator Ralph Bakshi’s Cool World (1992) and wrote the lap dance song for director Paul Verhoven's saucy Showgirls (1993). Comedies BASEketball and The Flintstones Movie prominently feature songs from the Hit & Run Holidayalbum. They have been roasted by MTV’s Beavis & Butthead, and were written into the story line of the film Sexy Evil Genius which also features the song "A Daisy Chain 4 Satan”. Most recently the club hit “Kooler Than Jesus” can be heard blasting in Season 3 of the Netflix series Narcos.

The band moved to Rykodisc in 1997 and re-released their entire remastered / repackaged catalog, along with five more studio albums, including an homage to 70’s disco era called Gay Black & Married, and the sultry and decadent Filthiest Show In Town (2007). They also formed their own label, SleazeBox Records, in 2001, enabling the release of a growing number of side-projects in addition to new TKK material.

Today SLEAZEBOX.com boasts the complete THRILL KILL KULT catalog, in addition to related works such as Mann’s DARLING KANDIE, and McCoy’s self titled projects. They continue to work with Wax Trax! Records for the purpose of re-issuing special limited edition vinyl. Buzz and Groovie still record and perform live along with veteran band mates Mimi Star (bass) and Justin Thyme (drums), all the while making a reputation for themselves as one of the most notorious and controversial cult bands of their generation.

THEODOR BASTARD Playing Special Shows

THEODOR BASTARD have been polishing up their impressive record collection. Over the past year, they've reissued two of their most-acclaimed albums, starting with 'Vetvi', followed by 'Oikoumene', which arrived earlier this month and included three unreleased songs and a re-imagined tracklist.

But you really need to see them live. While they're often recognized for the mystic melodies of vocalist Yana Veva or Fedor Svolotch, who started Theodor Bastard 20 years ago, the seven-piece band are known around the globe for weaving Nordic strings, primeval flutes, dark wave, trip-hop, tree roots and even human bone into an otherworldly performance of Karelian neofolk.

This summer, Theodor Bastard are celebrating the reissues of 'Vetvi' and 'Oikoumene' with two special outdoor concerts. They'll start by visiting Menshikov's Garden in their native St. Petersberg on July 20, before gracing the VK Summer Stage in Moscow on July 27. Both shows will feature new choreography and songs that the band has never performed live, including "Mama Terra".

THEODOR BASTARD’s music is set out to take listeners to unexplored and other worlds. From the cold and twilight realms of the marshy swamps of taiga and mossy tundra, to unexplored places where the earthly plane and the spiritual world are separated only by a thin ghostly veil. For over twenty years THEODOR BASTARD have been known for their amazingly serious attitude to the world beyond that very frontier.

THEODOR BASTARD is one of Russia’s most unusual bands representing the electronic Karelian neofolk genre. Also elements of dark wave and trip hop are present in the band’s music. The message doesn’t carry out everyday problems and is mainly focused on mythology and shamanism. The hallmarks of the band are the unique and bewitching lead vocals of multi-talent Yana Veva and the impeccable sound producing skills of Fedor Svolotch, founder of the band who created the band 20 years ago.

From album to album, THEODOR BASTARD carefully and masterly combine many different exotic and traditional instruments. The special northern atmosphere of their albums is created with Nordic nyckelharpa and jouhikko, primeval flutes created from tree roots and shamanic percussion.

“We live in the north of Russia in Karelia, which has a difficult fate” states band leader Fedor Svolotch. He continues: “This is a harsh northern region with unpredictable nature, with spruce and pine forests. Bears are found here. Moose and hare come straight to my house. In Karelia there are beautiful cliffs and clear lakes with fresh water. These are our personal places of power, the places where stones and winds are talking to us. Singing for us a songs of the northern harsh nature”.

THEODOR BASTARD consists of 6 musicians, turning their performances into a dark magic act that sends the audience back to Northern musical traditions, to the Karelian and the Russian folk. The musicians use a lot of electronic devices and ethnic instruments, but also use their own hand-made instruments from stones, human bone and the roots of Karelian birch.

Claudio Simonetti's Goblin Announces 'Demons' North American Tour

Just a year after conquering North America for the 45th anniversary of 'Suspiria,' Claudio Simonetti's Goblin is returning to the states! This time, the collective will be performing the score to the chilling and grotesque 1985 horror flick, Demons, as well as a comprehensive "best of" set. The full itinerary and tickets can be found HERE.

Composer Claudio Simonetti has written and recorded some of the most influential soundtracks in horror, including Dawn of the Dead, Deep Red, Suspiria, Tenebrae, and countless others, with his seminal work still informing the genre to this day. Simonetti and his collective will perform the haunting and tense score to Demons. The film was produced by master of horror Dario Argento (Suspiria, Tenebrae, etc.) and was directed by Lamberto Bava, son of iconic cinematographer Mario Bava. Enter the screening with caution and don't touch any props, lest the demons possess you...

In 2022, Simonetti's Goblin celebrated the 45th Anniversary of Dario Argento's iconic picture, Suspiria with this modern progressive update to the iconic soundtrack. Suspiria - Prog Rock Version is available HERE.

* performing Suspiria

^ performing "Best of" set only

"[Simonetti's] electronic score proved to be the perfect counterpoint to the rock songs, often oozing with menace and certainly adding to the fear factor... And, as usual with Simonetti, it makes for a great listen outside the film." - Horror Cult Films

"Simonetti acting as a solo composer here rather than as part of Goblin replicates this in his pulsating electronic score... It’s got a sense of stalking malevolence about it right up there with the film itself and is horror music personified." - Ave Noctum

"...a fascinating snapshot of a composer in transition, moving from a band setting to a solo career, expanding his range and creating some of the most stirring music of his career. We treasure Demons for withstanding the test of time, but the real gem here is Simonetti." - Popshifter

"Argento’s eye for filmmaking was still razor-sharp in those days; combined with the like-father-like-son style of Bava and a nightmarish synth score from Goblin’s Claudio Simonetti the film had all the necessary elements to satisfy horror fans. And truly, it’s a blast from start to finish with little time wasted." - Dread Central

"This soundtrack perfectly captures the growing tension created by the film as the main characters are transformed into demons, leading the way with the electro metal of Killing, the percussively cruel Demon, and the now classic cult hit Demon. 30 years later the music still shines with timeless quality thanks to the eclectic talent of composer Claudio Simonetti." - Rustblade

THOMPSON'S STATION, Tenn. – On the heels of the Academy of Country Music’s Outdoor Venue of the Year Nomination (presented in August at ACM Honors in Nashville), David LaVanne, Director of Operations for “Music City in the Country®” FirstBank Amphitheater, has been recognized by the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) as a 2023 30 UNDER 30 honoree. Designed to engage the best and brightest young professionals in the venue management industry, the 30 UNDER 30 program recognizes emerging leaders – and their talents – which help accelerate the industry and carry it into the future. LaVanne, along with the entire Class of 2023, will be presented their honors at VenueConnect in Pittsburgh, PA, July 31-August 3.

"The 30 Under 30 designation has been a professional goal of mine for many years, but it would not have been possible without my time at FirstBank Amphitheater" LaVanne reflects. "Our team's continued efforts to elevate the guest experience, increase fan safety, and expand production capabilities make FBA a very special place to visit, perform and work. If you haven't visited us yet, come out for a show to experience the most incredible atmosphere for live music!"

“David brings best practices from years of experience running large event and amphitheater operations to FirstBank Amphitheater. FirstBank Amphitheater is a world-class 7,500 capacity outdoor amphitheater, sitting on a sprawling 150 acres at the Graystone Quarry in Thompson’s Station, Tennessee. After discovering the property on Google Earth from their home in San Jose, California, husband and wife Rick and Nancy McEachern became enthralled by the potential the location held. The land, which was abandoned at the time, served as a dump for the area and originally housed over an estimated 900 tons of trash. After undergoing an extensive restoration and beautification, recycling and repurposing nearly all the trash on the property, the McEacherns built the amphitheater within the rock quarry. The result: an intimate, natural landscape and a proudly plastic-free venue.

Recognized in 2022 as a Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Award recipient for their “exceptional voluntary actions that improve or protect the environment and natural resources with projects or initiatives not required by law,” FirstBank Amphitheater continues to stand apart from other venues for its beauty, innovation and amenities offered.

Atoll Announce New Album 'Human Extract' Out August 25 via Unique Leader Records

Hailing from Phoenix, Arizona, extreme metal powerhouse Atoll has announced their new upcoming record 'Human Extract' out on Friday, August 25 (via Unique Leader Records). In celebration of the news, the band has unleashed their bone-shatteringly heavy titular track "Human Extract" from the new album. When asked about the creative inspiration behind the forthcoming full-length, vocalist Wade Taylor shared:

"We wanted to create a sonic experience that would engulf listeners in an eerie atmosphere, where the boundaries between reality and the unknown blur. With 'Human Extract,' we aimed to capture the essence of fear and vulnerability, delivering a musical journey that mirrors the horrors of alien abduction and the horrors of earth and man. It's an intense, cathartic exploration of the human condition."

Speaking to the "Human Extract" single, the band commented:

"This song delves into the realm of alien abduction, deliriously describing the process of extracting the essence and energy of the human form. The track offers a harrowing narrative, painting a grotesque picture of dissection and the cold detachment of otherworldly beings."

Pre-save 'Human Extract' at the link here, watch the music video for "Human Extract" below, and stream the track here.

Atoll fans also have the chance to see the band on the road this summer with Pyrexia, Cerebral Incubation, and Reeking Aura. For ticket information, please click on the links listed below and be sure to keep your eyes peeled for more Atoll news coming soon.

**Atoll only

Emerging from the scorched desert wasteland in 2014, the Phoenix, Arizona-based death metal quintet, Atoll, has been aggressively serving up their unique style for nearly the last decade. Brilliantly blending groove-based slamming brutal death with more traditional death metal elements, grind, and at times even a sprinkle of ‘core, funk, and thrash. Their composition favors a "riff piling" approach rather than the more common and simplistic verse-chorus-verse arrangement, giving the music something of a progressive element with very few repeated riffs, and less predictable movements. Atoll has remained a staple in the metal fest scene, and you may have caught them live playing with the likes of Skinless, Gorgasm, Ingested, and Aborted. Their love of the tour bus life and an importance placed on always having the highest quality, high-energy performances have gained them a reputation for being a consistent, unrelenting live force.

April 2014 birthed this bulbous abomination that has grown into the mighty Atoll when they conspired to create percussive, not frills, chugging brutality. The band immediately shot up in the local AZ scene and very quickly began to expand their live performances throughout the southwest United States, building up momentum for their 2016 debut album, and straight up slammer, The Gathering Swarm. Produced by the late Griffin “The Father” Kolinski (Knights Of The Abyss) and Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me) the album was quickly picked up and released by Amputated Vein subsidiary, Ghastly Music.

The initial success of their debut album caught the eye of Gorehouse Productions who went on to release the 2017 sophomore album, Fallout Frenzy. The vocals on this album show significant expanse in dynamic range, incorporating highs, mids, and some of the most nasty gutterals you’ll ever hear. Lyrically Fallout Frenzy expanded further on the origins of the band name, embracing themes of the atom bomb tests of Bikini Atoll in the 1950’s, and the subsequent radioactive fallout and mutations that occurred after the bombings.

The critically acclaimed album, Zoopocalypse is released in 2019 through Gorehouse Productions. This album is in-your-face aggression from front to back. A departure from the more rudimentary slams of their earlier works, Zoo implements more technicality, more tremolo and scaling, mathier leads, and a generally more advanced death metal sound that would represent the direction of the band moving forward. The mix/master was completed by Miguel Tereso of Demigod Recordings (Analepsy, Organectomy), and features a guest vocal spot from Matti Way (Disgorge, Abominable Putridity, Pathology)

During the global limbo of lockdown Atoll was able to strike a deal with the legendary Unique Leader Records, and in 2022 put out the Prepuce EP. The mini-release serves as a taster of things to come as Atoll has completed the production of two upcoming full-length albums, scheduled to drop through Unique Leader in 2023 and 2024. This two-part release will be the most technically ambitious to date. Keep your eyes peeled on the tour front, and ears open because, like an atomic tsunami, Atoll is primed to decimate the masses.

Atoll is:

Andy Luffey - drums

Cameron Broomfield - bass

Chris Nick - guitar

Spencer Ferguson - guitar

Wade Taylor - vocals

Lybica, Feat. KsE Drummer Justin Foley, Share "Resonance" Video — WATCH // Touring This Summer

Lybica, a dynamic instrumental 4-piece from South Florida featuring Killswitch Engage drummer Justin Foley on guitar, have carved out an impressive name for themselves over the last year, persistently winning fans over with their flavorful guitar melody and powerful metallic crunch.

Their self-titled debut album was released last year on Metal Blade Records. Get it
here.

Today, they have shared the video for album track "Resonance." Watch it
below.

Produced by Vince Edwards, this trippy and quirky visual take on the track features background waves that are driven by the audio amplitude of the song and thus change as the audio changes.

"'Resonance' has become a live favorite of mine," says Foley. "Joey's feedback 'solo' in the bridge is different each night, and he really takes it to some spacey places. Come hear it for yourself when we hit the road with Loss Becomes and Godseyes. Can't wait to see you all out there on the road."

As Foley mentioned, Lybica are touring this summer with Loss Becomes. All dates are below.

Also, watch Foley's appearance on Chef Brain Tsao's YouTube channel to discuss some very important topics, namely pizza,

Lybica's origin story can be traced back to 2020 when it became clear to Justin Foley that he wasn't going to be spending much time with his normal bandmates for a while. Quarantine days still needed to be time well spent, and he'd been working on some demos that he finally decided to share with a few local friends in South Florida. "I'd written a bunch of stuff that didn't quite fit into traditional song structures," Foley says. "And I've always been drawn to bands where the instruments provide hooks, rather than relying on a lyric. It seemed like a good time to start something new and see where it could go."

Foley met fellow musicians
Doug French (Gravel Kings) and Joey Johnson(Gravel Kings, Barriers Now Bridges, Days Spent) back in 2016, and they had repeatedly talked about jamming together but never actually got around to it. Foley and French — both drummers by trade — often spoke about trying something different that allowed them each to get out from behind the kit. "I've always wanted to play a stringed instrument," French shares. "And bass felt natural, since it is the other half of the rhythm section."

Johnson grew up playing shows all over Florida, heavily influenced by early punk and then both hardcore and metal. "[People at] all the good places to get a beer kept asking me if I had met Justin, since they know I play music," he recalls. "I heard about him in our town for about a year before we actually met through mutual friends. We hit it off when we started talking [about] instrumental music."

When French and Johnson eventually received the demos from Foley, they really liked what they heard. For several months, the three of them emailed music back and forth while learning the parts, especially Foley and French on instruments — guitar and bass, respectively — that they weren't experienced playing. They eventually started playing together with the drum tracks from the demos blasting through the PA speakers. Before too long, they had enough music for a full record and the direction of the band was taking shape.

The band eventually recruited Orlando drummer
James Christopher Lane of A Brilliant Lie to fill its "drummer vacancy." Lane, who was born and raised in Chicago and is currently based in Orlando, joined the band in December 2021.

The founding trio soon discovered that they had something else in common besides music.  "The three of us are pretty big cat people," Foley points out. "So it only made sense to call the band Lybica." Named after a small wildcat species native to Africa that is widely considered the godfather of the modern house cat, Lybica is the first known feline species to be tamed and domesticated by humans. Fast forward 10,000 years, and today, Lybica the band are as addictive as catnip. Lybica are poised to make some serious noise in 2023 — fur-real.

"We can't wait to hit the streets of the US once again and finally visit Canadian cities. Not only did a small Swiss boy's dream come true by touring the US for the first time this year, but returning with our own headline tour is mind-blowing for us. The excitement of seeing familiar and new faces singing along to our songs has us hyped for September and October. It will be a long ride, but one that will be totally worth it!

WE CAN'T WAIT, NORTH AMERICA!"

ABOUT PALEFACE SWISS

Since the release of their third album, 'Chapter 3: The Last Selection', independent outfit, PALEFACE SWISS have gained international recognition throughout the Deathcore and Beatdown Community. Known for their huge, aggressive riffs, brutally bombastic rhythm section, frontman, Zelli's outstanding vocals and a pinch of humor. This is Switzerland’s finest heavy music. Across their catalog, the band have gained 40 million streams and 6.7 million YouTube views.

PALEFACE SWISS was formed in Zurich, Switzerland in 2017 by vocalist Marc Zellweger (Zelli) and drummer Colin Hammond (CJ) having met through a mutual friend in 2016. After bonding over a shared love of beatdowns and hardcore, Zelli and CJ shook hands at a concert in 2017 and promised they would create the craziest beatdown band ever together. They released their debut ‘Chapter 1: From The Gallows’ in 2018 and played their first show in October 2018 and quickly grew in popularity with the song “Deprivation Method”.

In early 2019, Paleface started writing ‘Chapter 2: Witch King’ and started working on the final installment of the dark story they’d created with Chapters 1 & 2. ‘Chapter 3: The Last Selection’ was released on October 30th 2020, spawning four music huge tracks “Curse Us”, “The Rats”, "Lights Out" and “Skalpell” which quickly ranked high in the beatdown/hardcore charts and saw the band become cover stars on Spotify’s Heavy Beatdown playlist.

In 2022 the band released their most ambitious and brutal album yet, 'Fear & Dagger'. The album was widely considered a huge step up for the band as plaudits began to roll in for frontman Zelli's vocal ability, Metal Injection accurately summed it up in their review by saying, "It's fun to get caught up in Paleface's unrelenting instrumentals, but Zelli's really the star of Paleface. This is largely because he treats his screams like rap bars." The album shot the band into the upper echelons of the "deathcore renaissance" and spawned singles "The Orphan", "Deathtouch", "Dead Man's Diary" feat. LANDMVRKS frontman Florent Salfati and most recently, fan favourite and stylistic curveball, "My Grave / Lay with Me". The album focuses on more mature and critical topics related to the fears and struggles young people have to contend with in the 21st century, most importantly, the topic of mental health.

The album's technical proficiency and no-holds barred brutality, coupled with Zelli's unique delivery and highly emotional lyrics struck a chord with fans worldwide, racking up 15 million cross-platform streams, nearly 1 million YouTube views and saw the band's monthly Spotify users increase by over 300%, currently at 320k. It was released to much acclaim with New Transcendence stating "Paleface have created one of the most emotionally relevant and intriguing beatdown releases to date" and Wall of Sound calling it "an unashamedly brutal and angry album" and calling the band

As Metal Injection so astutely put it in their review of 'Fear & Dagger' - "Stop pretending to be cultured, and get down with the beatdown.".

FOUNDING MEMBER OF BLUE ÖYSTER CULT ALBERT BOUCHARD RELEASING FINAL INSTALLMENT OF IMAGINOS TRILOGY, SECOND SINGLE FEATURING THE DICTATORS OUT NOW!

Albert Bouchard is best known as a founding member of Blue Öyster Cult, the original lineup sold millions of albums for Columbia Records, with such classic songs as “(Don’t Fear) the Reaper” and the #1 hit on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart “Burning for You.” Bouchard contributed to songwriting and lead vocals on some of its greatest songs, such as “Cites on Flame With Rock and Roll.”

Albert Bouchard is back with Imaginos III – Mutant Reformation, wrapping up the trilogy of Imaginos. Bouchard has shepherded the concept of Imaginos through its many incarnations over the years, translating Sandy Pearlman’s feverish visions into sonic resonance. As Bouchard states, “Sandy’s not being here to feel the long-awaited culmination is perhaps the greatest irony of this epic journey through the invisibility of conspiracy, the shape-shifting, and eternal light that is Desdinova. But legend lives on, as will tales told ‘round the fire of when Man still walked the Earth, and the carnage had yet to begin. Hear the final chapter in this monumental saga when the record is released on July 7, 2023.”

The first single was Bouchard’s take on the Blue Öyster Cult fan favorite “E.T.I.,” featuring brother Joe Bouchard on lead vocal, Isabella Kosal on background vocals, and R.J. Ronquillo on lead guitar.

Now Bouchard releases the second single “Transmaniacon,” featuring the current lineup of the Dictators. Bouchard had this to say, “I wanted to make a version of “Transmaniacon” that had a heavier approach, proto-metal with a punk flavor. The guys
in the new Dictators were just the group to deliver that. I know it’s a fan favorite with BÖC fans, but I hope they can appreciate it as much as the original--just like they did for
‘E.T.I.’ ”

The album is available now for preorder and features guests “Ross the Boss” Friedman and Andy Shernoff (Dictators); Joe Cerisano (Silver Condor, TSO); Kenny Aaronson (Billy Idol, Bob Dylan); and Kasim Sulton (Utopia, Meat Loaf). It reunites original Blue Öyster Cult members Eric Bloom and Joe Bouchard, as well as current BÖC member Richie Castellano, who all contribute to this latest installment. The album also features reworks of classics like “E.T.I.,” “Godzilla,” and “Sole Survivor.” There will be limited- edition bundles, including a very limited colored-vinyl option (only 250 copies).

ABOUT FALLING IN REVERSE:
Platinum-selling rock band Falling In Reverse, lead by outspoken and charismatic singer Ronnie Radke, have been completely dominating the radio and streaming space in this new decade. The band, which formed back in 2008 and built itself as a mainstay of the Warped Tour scene while gracing many Alternative Press covers, has seen its latest single "Zombified" hit No. 1 Billboard's Hot Hard Rock Songs Chart. The band has also been generating nearly 50 million total streams per month. Falling In Reverse's previous chart-topping single "Popular Monster" earned platinum RIAA status. The track is truly a juggernaut and is a watershed moment for the band. "Popular Monster" has been streamed nearly half-a-billion times and has emerged as one of the biggest anthems of the past several years. It enjoyed a multi-week stint at No. 1 on the rock radio charts, landing in the top spot on the Mediabase Active Rock Chart, Billboard's Hot Hard Rock Chart, and the Nielsen Rock Chart, and marked the first No.1 single of the band's career. It followed the gold certification of the band's 2011-released debut album The Drug in Me Is Youand a sold-out anniversary tour. During the shutdown that was a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Radke quickly established himself as one of the most popular musicians streaming on the Twitch platform. In Winter 2022, the band returned to the road and embarked on the sold-out "Live From the Unknown" tour, further cementing its status as one of the top live draws in the genre. Falling In Reverse have continued to catch the eye of the press, with their career arc being spotlighted by top-tier, tastemaking publications such as Forbes, Billboard, New York Times, Pitchfork, and beyond.

VRSTY Share "The Plug" — LISTEN

New York City-based collective VRSTY (pronounced "Varsity") — Joey Varela [vocals], Javy Dorrejo [bass], Chris Cody [drums], and Paul Gregory [guitar] — are serving up a brand new track with "The Plug."

It's a confident track, powered by Varela's vocals, synths, and powerhouse riffs. It doesn't adhere to any genre specifications or parameters — and that's what makes VRSTY stand out from the pack.

"'The Plug' was only the song that came to me naturally, because I was literally living it as I was writing it," Varela shares, pulling back the curtain on the song's in-real-time and incredibly personal nature. "It's about convincing yourself that you're in love with the good in a person when in actuality, you're addicted to the hell they bring into your life. They essentially become the dealer of all your problems and you can't help but buy what they're selling."

The band is currently on tour with Secrets, For the Fallen Dreams, Outline in Color, and Nerv. All dates are below.

VRSTY ON TOUR:
WITH SECRETS, FOR THE FALLEN DREAMS, OUTLINE IN COLOR, + NERV:
6/22 — Houston, TX — White Oak Music Hall
6/23 — Dallas, TX — Cheapsteaks
6/24 — San Antonio, TX — Vibes Event Center
6/26 — Nashville, TN — The End
6/27 — West Columbia, SC — New Brookland Tavern
6/28 — Greensboro, NC — Hangar 1819
6/29 — Philadelphia, PA — Milk Boy
7/1 — Thompson, CT — Capulet Fest

ABOUT VRSTY:
Welcome Home is the band's debut full length for the label and follows last year's breakthrough Cloud City EP, which has accumulated six million streams in less than a year and yielded the head-turning singles "
Shameless" and "Massive." The latter was the most played on SiriusXM's Octane for two weeks in a row in late 2020. VRSTY have perfected their seamless and fearless cross-pollination of metallic grooves and R&B-influenced, after midnight vocal swagger on this 14-track offering. VRSTY aren't just offering their own take on a genre; they have authored a fusion style that is entirely their own. "Welcome Home is an incredibly personal album to me," Varela shares. "I know everybody says that, and hey, maybe they're not lying when they do. I sure as hell am not. It was definitely a task, at first, trying to figure out how to phrase or sing something without getting too personal. But somewhere along the way, I threw that idea out the window and decided to say exactly what I felt. You won't find me trying to sound cool or using any fancy wordplay. It's just me in my rawest form, saying exactly what I've felt or experienced over the years, which is what has made me who I am today. I think if anybody ever wants to get to know me, this record will give you everything you need to know. No secrets. Just me." The band has also tallied an impressive 25 million streams in the U.S.

TESTAMENT AND NUCLEAR BLAST, A MATCH MADE IN HELL

Nuclear Blast is proud to announce that the complete TESTAMENT catalog has been acquired and the band signed for an additional 3 albums in the future! The signing took place before the band’s fiery performance at Hellfest this past weekend. Fans will now be able to listen to the band's seminal albums The Legacy and The New Order on the DSP of their choice!

Chuck Billy states, "After a long history of making music and TESTAMENT teaming up with Nuclear Blast in 2008 with The Formation of Damnation to the current release Titans of Creation, we have taken it to the next level and have reclaimed our 6 albums from Atlantic Records and have delivered them to Nuclear Blast to be re-released. Along with the Atlantic catalog, TESTAMENT will sign a new 3-album deal with NB worldwide. We are so grateful to be with the Best Heavy Metal label in the world that will spread TESTAMENT's Legacy."

Eric Peterson
comments, "We signed with NB back in 2008 and it’d been a perfect fit for us ever since then. Incidentally, our older catalog with Atlantic Records - The Legacy, The New Order, Practice What You Preach, Souls of Black, The Ritual, and Low - have returned to us and we feel it’s a great new start to have NB Release these albums again with some new unreleased artwork, photos, etc. Also, we will be signing a new three-album deal with them! So the future for Metal is looking very, very bright! Cheers!"

Tommy Jones Nuclear Blast U.S. Label Manager adds:
"One of my favorite guitars as a kid was my dark red Ibanez Saber (540S) with the wizard neck. I purchased that guitar to sound like Alex Skolnick who played that model and color back in the day. So all these years later to be signing those OG, genre-defining TESTAMENT albums that were such an early influence like The New Order, Practice What You Preach, and Souls of Black, as well as new TESTAMENT albums to Nuclear Blast, is completing a full circle for me. Truly an 'If the 15-year-old me could see this' type of moment. It’s time to continue 'The Legacy' with Nuclear Blast!”

Loss Becomes Share "L.O.F." Video — WATCH // Touring This Summer

LOSS BECOMES — Brian Tsao, Guitar; Will Gomez, Bass; Anthony Copozzi, Vocals; Anthony Lopardo, guitars; Sean Ageman, drums — have dropped the video for the new single "L.O.F." The song was originally titled "Capazism."

Watch it
below

"'L.O.F.' Is an abbreviation for 'lube oil filter,' which means 'oil change,'" says Copozzi. "[It's] a term my father has been using to communicate on paper what kind of job needs to be done on a customer's car. He’s been writing this down on a yellow notepad as far back as I can remember over at Nor-Bel Service Center. The song itself is pretty much about a personal 'mental/social oil change.' Oddly enough, when I saw him write it down again, it felt like a good fit to title the song “L.O.F.”

The band will also hit the road this summer with Lybica and Godseyes. All dates are below.

LOSS BECOMES ON TOUR:
6/29 — Albany, NY — Empire Underground
6/30 — Amityville, NY — Amityville Music Hall
7/1 — Hamden, CT — Space Ballroom
7/2 — Clifton, NJ — Dingbatz
7/3 — Hampton Beach, NH — Wally's
7/5 — Philadelphia, PA – The Foundry
7/6 — Mechanicsburg, PA — Lovedraft's Brewing
7/7 — Parkersburg, WV — Tracey's Pub
7/8 — Columbus, OH — Big Room Bar

ABOUT LOSS BECOMES:
Perhaps you saw him defeating Bobby Flay on his eponymous show Beat Bobby Flay. Or maybe you caught a peek of him leading the kitchen at Beauty & Essex NYC or more recently hosting his very own Williamsburg, Brooklyn sandwich shop, Mission Sandwich Social. But Chef Brian Tsao is not your typical chef.  He wants to fill your ears as much as he wants to fill your belly. So with a heavy appetite for heavy music, Tsao picked up his guitar and was ready for a new adventure with some incredible musicians, including Will Gomez, a hospital radiologic technologist who earned his stripes as the former bassist of NYC bands Johnny Cage Is a Fake and Tiger Flowers. In search of a powerful voice, all roads led to Anthony Copozzi, who earned his vocal chops as lead singer of Long Island metal act Thracian.

LOSS BECOMES are a modern take on classic metalcore with hardcore tendencies. The music is unforgivingly aggressive and executed with intensity and vigor. Anthony’'s ferocious enthusiasm can be heard on every lyric, giving the band what can only be described as a full aural assault.

LOSS BECOMES recorded its first full-length at Long Island’s Westfall Recording Co. with producer Anthony Lopardo at the helm (Moon Tooth, Johnny Booth, Give Up The Goods). He has since joined the band as second guitarist.  The self-titled debut was released in late 2021, garnering widespread praise and attention among its peers and fans with hard hitting anthems such as "Moments', 'Healing' and 'Demons', and resulting in LOSS BECOMES sharing stages with the likes of Alien Weaponry, Moon Tooth, Nekrogoblikon, Resistor and Dr. Acula to name a few.

Another recent addition is drummer Sean Agemen, who mastered his chops in previous acts Give Up The Goods and Sargasm.  Sean's production company Washed Up Media handles video production and photoshoots for the band among other clients, and also helps produce and promote local shows, all adding to the impressive DIY ethic that LOSS BECOMES has become known for.  The formidable 5-piece are ready to take the next step, with plenty of new music planned for the coming months....be on the lookout!
