VOÏVOD Releases New Live Album ‘Symphonique’ Featuring the Quebec Symphony Orchestra Out Now via Century Media Records

After more than 40 eventful years of existence, Canada's progressive sci-fi metal innovators VOÏVOD return with ‘Symphonique,’ a special live release together with the Quebec Symphony Orchestra, out now via Century Media Records.

‘Symphonique,’ which functions like an epic piece of cinema, showcases VOÏVOD’s pioneering futuristic metal with the strains of a symphony orchestra, and features a carefully curated VOÏVOD best-of setlist composed of 12 songs across 73 minutes, recorded live on June 4th, 2025, at the Grand Théâtre in Québec City, Canada.

Wes Parker Releases Debut Album 'Super Rare' And Shares "Dinosaur Park" Official Video via Big Machine Rock

Rising alt-rock artist Wes Parker has today released his eagerly anticipated debut album 'Super Rare' via Big Machine Rock. In celebration of the release, Parker dropped the gorgeously cinematic official music video for his haunting single, "Dinosaur Park". Leading up to today, he released tracks "Bad Doggie" and most recently, "Little Birdie", along with their respective visual accompaniments. Speaking about "Dinosaur Park", Parker shared:

“‘Dinosaur Park’ is a song inspired by the 2009 disappearance and likely murder of Susan Powell in Utah. I’m not usually a true crime person, but hearing her story deeply affected me and left me heartbroken for her and her family. This manifested through a dark but propulsive track with haunting guitar riffs and a sort of uneasy undercurrent that feels somewhere in the world of Radiohead sonically. "Mommy stayed the night where the crystals grow" is a lyric that was a direct quote from one of her late children (at the time 4 years old) when asked where their mother was the night of her disappearance.”

THE NEAL AGENCY SIGNS LANDON WILKS

As Landon Wilks prepares to release his debut EP, Young and Restless,  on the heels of his breakthrough single “Leave Me Be,” the Mississippi native has signed with The Neal Agency (TNA) for booking.
 
"Joining the Neal Agency is something I'm really excited about. From their globally recognized artists, to the new up-and-comers, the attention to detail at every level is unmatched,” says Wilks. “That kind of care across the board doesn't happen everywhere, and it says a lot about who they are. I know they're going to be a huge factor in my career, especially when it comes to touring.”

Portland's Wooden Overcoat serves potent psych-pop on debut "Hello Sunbeam" EP

Portland dreampop outfit Wooden Overcoat presents their debut "Hello Sunbeam" EP, a sweet spot where lo-fi garage psych meets 90s shoegaze, all anchored by layered harmonies and an evocatively intimate vocal delivery. The focus track "Heaven Right Now" is a reverb-soaked desert psych-rock track about hidden emotional fractures, shared suffering, and how people quietly break under pressure.

Wooden Overcoat is the sonic brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Brant Hajek, having returned to music after a hiatus, recording songs he'd written in his late teens. What started as a practice in self-production transformed into a deep creative obsession with soundscapes and gear. Recording in a rented basement, Hajek built the foundation of the EP through spontaneous experimentation—often veering away from planned sessions to follow sudden bursts of inspiration.

"Recording this EP almost ruined my life, and I hope it sounds like it. Each song is its own little world, in which I lost myself. With childlike wonder, exploring concepts and sounds, I was inspired to make something new each time just to keep the wheel turning. I loved the feeling of momentum, knowing I was creating something out of thin air and maybe grabbing ahold of something slippery and evasive. There’s a feeling of satisfaction I can’t compare to anything else that I get when listening back to something fresh," says Brant Hajek.

"Over countless hours tinkering away with mics, pedals, amps, preamps, and the overall process of tracking and layering guitars, I wanted to make something that sounds old but fresh. I want something that sounds warm and dense, but somehow also airy. I think I achieved that. The curse of any recording artist is wishing you could go back and do it all differently. But instead of beating it to death, I want people to hear the rawness of the result of someone finally figuring out how to a make a record."

Hajek’s creative process is a deeply personal, layered journey towards the spark that turns an emotionally restless melodies into finished pieces. While he himself performed every instrument on thise EP, Wooden Overcoat is now a full band, bringing these tunes to the stage. With Hajek on guitar and lead vocals, he is joined by bassist Dillon Glusker, guitarist Mac and drummer Brian Levin.

The band debuted with the shimmering single "Home", enveloping the senses in a reverb-drenched sanctuary, blending in sun-drenched textures and a wash of tape echo and reverb, followed by "Finally Arrived" with its viscous guitars, slow thudding drums, rhythmic trance-like pulse and dreamy soundscape.  A tapestry of personal mourning and romantic friction, at its core, it examines the delicate nature of human connection, lamenting a cultural tendency to view individuals as replaceable assets.

The video for both singles were created by Italian multi-arts visionary Francesca Bonci, well known for her work with The Dandy Warhols, Pete International Airport and Slowdive's Rachel Goswell, LA's Tombstones In Their Eyes, Federale (The Brian Jonestown Massacre's Collin Hegna), post-rock outfit The Quality of Mercury, and iconic British bard Philip Parfitt.

"This EP was written at a dark time in my life. My mother was diagnosed with cancer, the world was flipped on its head and never really recovered, political turmoil and conflicts overseas dominated the collective conscious, and it profoundly affected me. My relationship was suffering from cumulative stress and I can now see how it came through in what I created. Themes of beauty that doesn’t last, self-sabotage, dissociation, cynicism, and desire for connection but feeling removed from it," says Hajek.

"To me this album is about romanticism vs. reality. “Hello Sunbeam” is something I might say to myself when I’m having a bad day, joking about how grumpy I’m being. But it’s also something I might say when I look outside to see the clouds are parting for a bit and maybe things don’t have to be so dreary."

The name Wooden Overcoat—an old Americana euphemism for a coffin—hints at the project’s core philosophy: a playful balance of moody, mystical imagery with light-hearted humor. Hajek’s creative process is personal, the rough versions eventually coalescing into vivid, emotionally resonant themes. In contrast, this music is vibrant, creating a fantastic dreamlike environment for lovers of life.

Sublime, spiritually charged, and emotionally captivating, this record fuses gothic, industrial, and trip-hop sensibilities into a singular sonic language, enriched by evocative Middle Eastern vocal textures. Taking us on an immersive odyssey, they also present their latest video for 'Cosmic Power' with its brooding trip hop. 

DEATĦ B¥ LØVE is made up of acclaimed Pittsburgh music producer and multi-instrumentalist Peter Guellard – whose decades-long presence in America's dark-electronic underground includes work with The Electric Hellfire Club, Closterkeller and Blitzkrieg – and singer-songwriter Inga Habiba, whose distinctive, spiritually-charged voice has been shaped by a multicultural heritage and a long career fronting gothic and new-wave acts in Poland.

Crafted over the course of a year, ‘444’ was spawned through an immersive ritual of file-swapping and Trans-Atlantic flights, reflecting a painstaking process that mirrors the album’s themes of endurance, distance, and connection. Geography and vision have shaped DEATĦ B¥ LØVE's approach to  creating music between continents, embracing digital collaboration and a multimedia approach to performance, pushing live presentations to their limits, including holographic images.

This is a record that moves between extremes, covering the spectrum from despair to transcendence, from fragility to force. From the trippy space-hop of 'Cosmic Power' and cavernous intensity of 'Strong Inside' to the industrial weight of 'I Don’t', the spectral intimacy of 'Sellenno' and the darkly mystical 'Temros (Symphonic Mix)'.

"'Cosmic Power' is our flagship song. We always dreamed of how incredibly cathartic it would be to play music in space, and with this video, that dream finally comes true. Musically, the song branches away from our core goth/industrial sound and brings in trip-hop textures that we both love. Inspired by artists such as Morcheeba and Groove Armada, we explored the more chilled, atmospheric side of our creative identity," says Peter Guellard.

Lyrically, Inga Habiba describes the song as “dismantling the illusion of control through a narrative of seduction, belief, and collapse. What begins as a promise of limitless power reveals itself as manipulation, leaving behind a void where trust once lived. Its final truth is stark: real power does not lie in commanding the universe, but in reclaiming ownership of one’s inner world.”

'444' is an album of survival, transformation and paradox, kick-started by an October 2024 meet-up in Warsaw, Poland to record the tracks 'Strong Inside' and 'Temros', along with their respective videos. 'Temros' would appear on Metropolis Records’ 'Electronic Saviors 7' compilation, while 'Strong Inside' was the first in a series of singles released via Distortion Productions, which also includes 'Sellenno'and their 'Krakowski Spleen' triphop cover of famed Polish rock band Maanam.

"Together with 'Temros' and 'Ziro', 'Cosmic Power' gives this album its eclectic edge, but we are not afraid of sonic experimentation. In fact, we believe, and many listeners have told us, that blending genres within one album can be a strength, allowing different audiences to find their own point of connection," explains Peter Guellard. 

"What makes '444' cohesive is its deeper concept: spiritualism, survival, and the healing of past trauma. There is a delicate balance between electronic sound and cultural memory, between the human body, the planet beneath us, and the family histories and relationships that shape how we move through the world. That is what gives 444 its emotional weight."

Joined by Pam Simmons on guitar and Joe Palermo on drums, DEATĦ B¥ LØVE will soon bring their energy to the stage, performing at the Wooltura Club in Łódź for BlitzDay, along with MECHU and Shagreen. This unique evening is dedicated to the Polish independent scene, featuring artists with musical roots in the legendary Blitzkriegband, one of the most pioneering darkwave-goth bands in the history of Polish alternative music.

DONT YOU DARE Drop "S.O.S" EP + Share "Burning Out"

Born from the raw concrete of Sacramento, California, DONT YOU DARE (styled without the apostrophe) are a modern rock duo fusing the intensity of nu-metal and metalcore with raw, unfiltered emotion.

Vocalist Noah Duarte, a poet-turned-frontman, joined forces with guitarist Matt English to create a sound that's both therapeutic and confrontational, and the foundation of what would become DONT YOU DARE.

They just released their S.O.S EP via The Artery Foundation.

They also dropped the single "BURNING OUT."

"'BURNING OUT' is about the emotional burnout turned anger and resentment of trying to save a toxic relationship that keeps taking pieces of you until there's nothing left to give," says English. "The line ,'Everything I love has left me now, everything I love is burning down,' is the realization that fantasy and reality can no longer co-exist, when you realize how much of your worth and identity has been attached to that person that you're falling away from. The helplessness of being stuck in a cycle where you feel like you're always the one who has to change, always the one taking blame, and no matter what you do, nothing can save it."

Regarding the EP as a whole, Duarte states, "S.O.S is a call for help, every song is a different situation I went through emotionally or literally. Late nights, days that didn't seem to end, staring at the ceiling with questions running through my head and no answers in sight. S.O.S as a whole was three years of hard work, long headache-induced sessions, screaming until my voice gave out, generated into five songs that show the world who DONT YOU DARE is and what we will continue to be!"

He continues, "I could go on and on about this EP and how much I am thankful to everyone who worked on it, including my brother and best friend, Matt English, my manager and RIDE OR DIE, Matt Scarpelli, or the person who went out on a limb and gave us a chance, Eric Rushing. But I will give it to the fans to listen to and love as much as we do; to sing along with us every night, because without people to listen to these songs, DONT YOU DARE would be nothing. So here's to our debut EP, S.O.S, and to the beginning of DONT YOU DARE. Thank you to everyone who helped along the way and pushed me and Matt to our breaking point, to be the best version of ourselves day in and day out. This EP is everyone's to enjoy and cherish. I hope it means as much to everyone listening as it does to me."

UK Rocker DAN BYRNE Releases Debut Album 'This Is Where The Show Begins' — Out Now via Frontiers Music Srl

Hotly-tipped UK rocker DAN BYRNE has unveiled his anticipated debut album, ‘This Is Where the Show Begins,’ out now via Frontiers Music Srl. To celebrate the release, DAN has also unveiled the new track “Pulling Me Under,” alongside an official visualizer, available below.

"'Pulling Me Under' dives into the darker depths of the album. This is a dark, atmospheric alternative rock track built on tension, emotion, and contrast. It’s haunting and anthemic, with verses that feel suffocatingly close before breaking into a huge chorus that hits like a breath of air after the plunge.

He continues, "The song explores the internal chaos of reaching out for help from the very person who’s dragging you down and the feeling of emotionally drowning when the one you trust most becomes the source of your pain. It’s a confrontation of that paradox: needing saving from the person who’s breaking you.

"It’s about that mental struggle, when you’re asking someone to pull you up, but they’re the reason you’re sinking in the first place. I wanted the music to reflect that push and pull; the verses are tight and claustrophobic, and then the chorus opens up like coming up for air. It’s dark, emotional, and one of the most cinematic moments on the record."

"With its weighty production, layered guitars, and emotional scope, it embodies that recurring theme throughout the record: the beauty and release that come from surviving your own storms," DAN concludes.

‘This Is Where The Show Begins,’ DAN’s debut album, is full of joy and confidence. There is swagger alongside sensitivity, a widening musical horizon that feels both fresh and bold. At the center of it all is that voice, as powerful as it is vulnerable, as emotive as it is commanding.

The lead single, “Saviour,” is a perfect opener. It bursts to life with attention-grabbing hard-rock stabs and pile-driving riffs, its verses simmering with quiet drama before exploding into a chorus that promises we are in for one hell of a ride. It struts, it shimmies, and it absolutely rocks. “Light ’em up,” indeed. There is no letup as we are thrown headlong into “She’s the Devil,” DAN delivering a colossal vocal punctuated by gonzo guitar gymnastics, the euphoria here is undeniable.

Elsewhere, we are taken to church with “Praise Hell,” and “Sober” is steeped in regret. We may even get a glimpse of where DAN is headed next with album closer “Home,” a sprawling, shapeshifting piece of alt-rock that never loses its soul. Originally formed in 1984, LIGHTNING STRIKES were the first metal band to feature an all Armenian-American line-up, well over a decade before the arrival of SYSTEM OF A DOWN. Co-founder Maksudian revived the name with new personnel a quarter century after the initial breakup recording the group's self-titled 2016 full-length debut with Brazilian vocalist Nando Fernandes (SINISTRA, HANGAR), the aforementioned Rob Math and Derek Sherinian, and former BLACK SABBATH vocalist, Tony Martin, who sang on and wrote the lyrics to 'Death Valley' and '301 AD Sins of Our Fathers'. Gridiron Release New "Lights Out" EP Today — LISTEN // Watch Video for Title Track

GRIDIRON — Matthew Karll, vocals; Will Kaelin, guitar and vocals; Xavier Wilson, guitar; Lennon Livesay, bass; and Tyler Mullen, drums — just dropped their new EP, titled LIGHTS OUT, via Blue Grape Music. Listen here.

The four-song EP features two brand new bangers laced with the type of hardcore grooves that Gridiron have steadily built their reputation on, along with two remixes (one done by Jami Morgan and Shade of NOWHERE2RUN) of songs from last year's plate-shifting album Poetry From Pain, which was tipped by Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, NO ECHO, and more.

"'Lights Out' is a track about revenge, a track about counting your chickens before they hatch. A song about going out and getting back what's yours," declares Karll.

Gridiron, which originally formed as a pandemic project and have since grown into a full-fledged entity, features members of Never Ending Game, Simulakra, and Scarab, and connects the Philadelphia, Delaware, and Michigan areas. Pushing every boundary to a breaking point, Gridiron will go to any extreme and then some. They follow quite possibly the most unpredictable playbook in the game. The band might flood the zone with a corpsepaint-smearing death metal barrage only to double back around for a victory lap narrated by blinged-out and braggadocios bars. Their hybridization of metal, hardcore, and hip-hop wouldn’t be out of place at either OZZfest 1997 or Rolling Loud 2027.

Heavy Metal Rock 'n Roll - MIDNITE HELLION does it best. Founder/drummer Drew Rizzo, long-time bassist/backing vocalist Rach Kubik, and lead guitarist Charles Koegler create the power that amplifies every town.

Their distinctive style – classic, no-frills heavy metal serving tremendously infectious spurts of thrash riffs with a straight, fun stage attitude – made them a top pick for world-class acts to ignite their respective crowds. Bask Announce U.S. Tour Dates with Elder

Since 2013, when they first came rumbling down from the Blue Ridge Mountains, Bask have sounded like they belong to their very own time and place. On their LIT Music Award-winning, critically-acclaimed new album, the band take their homebrewed Heavy Americana to a new dimension. With The Turning, they pen a heavy, heady and heartfelt ode to their mountain home in the sky.

Bask are excited to announce three shows with Elder. The Asheville natives will join the heavy psychedelic Massachusetts rockers in Richmond, Asheville and Atlanta during their upcoming North American tour.

“We are excited to join the almighty Elder this September”, Bask says. “Fans can also come out and see us later this month on our Midwest jaunt”.

The Turning is out now on Season of Mist.
