Norwegian extreme metal titans Dimmu Borgir unleash Grand Serpent Rising, their long-awaited new studio album and first full-length release in eight years since Eonian.
Formed in 1993 by guitarist Sven “Silenoz” Kopperud and vocalist Stian “Shagrath” Thoresen during the height of Norway’s second-wave black metal movement, Dimmu Borgirhave never rushed the creative process - and the crushing weight and cinematic scope of Grand Serpent Rising proves the wait was worthwhile.
Recorded in Gothenburg with acclaimed producer Fredrik Nordström - the architect behind landmark Dimmu Borgir albums Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia and Death Cult Armageddon - the new record delivers thirteen punishing yet remarkably diverse tracks that push the band’s symphonic extremity to towering new heights.
To celebrate the release, the band has also unveiled a stunning new cinematic video for the track 'As Seen In The Unseen', further cementing Grand Serpent Rising as one of the year’s most anticipated extreme metal releases.
