WARBRINGER Unleashes Explosive Second Single "The Sword And The Cross" | New Album "Wrath And Ruin" Out March 14

Modern thrash titans WARBRINGER recently set the world ablaze with the announcement of their highly anticipated new album, Wrath And Ruin, out March 14, 2025 via Napalm Records. Today, they return to unleash the furiously charged second single "The Sword And The Cross," alongside an official lyric video.

"The Sword And The Cross" continues the band's righteous crusade for justice and riffs, lambasting listeners with unrelenting blasts, and unsettling, gothic guitar duels. Frontman John Kevill remains steadfast in his convictions, lyrically exploring the dismay of modern conditions through the voice of a medieval lord cruelly mocking the listener.

About the single, frontman Kevill says: "'The Sword and the Cross' was the first song we wrote for Wrath and Ruin and sets the tone for the album. We have a dark, epic thrashing number where a callous lord tells the audience how and why he owns them. First, establishing himself with brute violence (the Sword). Second, legitimating himself with ideology (the Cross). The end of the song was written first, where this lord says that he is still present, and reigns in skyscrapers rather than castles, that his sons will own your sons, and he will own you long after he dies. I love this section and it feels absolutely maniacal and evil to sing.

"One of the chief themes on the record is 'techno-feudalism.' Though our rulers may have given up their crowns and titles, they never relinquished their power. The modern lords are no less our masters than the medieval ones were.

"Bend the knee, peasants, for we bring to you Wrath and Ruin. We bring the sword!"

Pre-Order New Album Wrath And Ruin HERE.

Wrath And Ruin's destructive opening duo of "The Sword And The Cross" and "A Better World" quickly kick the gates of cataclysm open with broodingly dark guitar work and virtuosic precision. Frontman John Kevill's passionate proclamations are as potent as ever, mocking those who scoffed at clear harbingers of societal collapse with their misguided optimism. "Neuromancerrides low and steady with blast master Carlos Cruz putting some serious stank on an irresistible battle vest fist pumper. "The Jackhammer" sees the band explode into a frenzy with chaotic riffage and ear splitting pinch dives. "Through A Glass, Darkly" indulges in deliciously gothic chord work and melodic leads embellishing Kevill’s already hellish vocal fry. "Strike From The Sky" is trademark thrash excellence quickly followed by the atmospheric, true cult epic "Cage Of Air," with its tensely ornate dueling guitars on full display. Album closer "The Last Of My Kind" continues this dark gothic path with syncopated octave runs dancing around tightly dueling melodeath riffage.Wrath And Ruin sees WARBRINGER indulging in the darker elements of their sound, for an uncompromising and unflinching exploration of life’s most bitter pills.

WARBRINGER are currently gearing up to embark on the massive “Infernal Bleeding Over Europe 2025” tour in support of death metal legends Decapitated alongside Cryptopsy, and Carnation kicking off May 3, 2025 at London’s Incineration fest.

ROBIN MCAULEY Shares New Single "Wonders Of The World" + Visualizer

Today, ROBIN MCAULEY proudly shares a new single, titled "Wonders of the World", from his upcoming solo album, 'Soulbound,' due February 28th via Frontiers Music Srl.

About the single, ROBIN's co-writer Giancarlo Floridia states:

"'Wonders of the World' was a song presented to me by David Julian that I absolutely fell in love with and started working on together with Robin.

"I really feel as a writing team David, myself and Robin came up with something very special that I think you’re all going to enjoy.

"TURN IT UP!!!!!"

Watch the Visualizer for "Wonders Of The World"

His new solo album sees MCAULEY's voice continuing to defy time, sounding as inspired and powerful as ever. Definitively more guitar-driven straight hard rock compared to his previous albums, 'Soulbound' is still wonderfully melodic, infectious, and fist-in-the-air uplifting.

MCAULEY comments on the album:

"I can't wait to share Record #3 with you all from Frontiers Music SRL. 'Soulbound' is a much edgier, harder guitar-driven record than my previous two for the label. In addition, I'm working with a new producer from the Frontiers label, Aldo Lonobile, who brought these songs to life with his Kick-Ass production."

'Soulbound' showcases the respected Irish rock singer's desire to make a strong musical statement in what is proving to be his most creative period.

After reemerging on the recording side of the music industry with guest spots on

Michael Schenker Fest albums and tours in addition to fronting the hard rock supergroup Black Swan, MCAULEY was (and still is) feeling invigorated and ready to explore even more creative output to let the world see that his voice is still as powerful as ever.

Work for 'Soulbound' began in early 2024, following an intense musical period in between tour dates and studio work. With a slightly different production approach compared to the previous album, ROBIN’s vocal performance here is simply outstanding. Truly an iconic voice of the genre, 'Soulbound' solidly delivers the more hard and heavy aspects of this respected artist.

ROBIN's backing band includes some of the previous artists who appeared with him on previous efforts, including guitarist Andrea Seveso, as well as some new talent such as guitarist Alessandro Mammola and drummer Alfonso Mocerino.

'Soulbound' is produced by Aldo Lonobile.

Pre-Order 'Soulbound' HERE

Robin McAuley is widely recognized as one of the great singers of a golden period in hard rock music. His voice can be heard on albums from Grand Prix and Far Corporation, and of course, on the chart-topping MSG records 'Perfect Timing,' 'Save

Yourself,' and 'MSG.' Through these releases, he was introduced to hard rock fans around the globe, who no doubt recognized the inherent talent and skill in his vocal abilities.

Once he departed MSG, McAuley released one solo record in 1999, then joined AOR

legends Survivor. He then re-grouped with Schenker in Michael Schenker Fest on their recent records 'Resurrection' and 'Revelation,' And of course, in what was an absolute revelation to hard rock fans around the world, in 2020, he came out swingin' as the frontman of the supergroup Black Swan, where he joined forces with Reb Beach (Whitesnake, Winger), Jeff Pilson (Foreigner, ex-Dokken), and Matt Starr (Ace Frehley, Mr Big).

SEPTICFLESH has a remarkable ability to maintain continuity from album to album, while at the same time building on what has they have created in the past. Lyrical elements incorporated in all of their albums are based on opposites. For example, the ideas of heaven and hell, good and evil, or development and destruction have often served as metaphorical images in SEPTICFLESH's lyrics. Musically, the band also plays on opposites, using the dynamic differences between dissonant vs. melodic and dark vs. light to create a blend of gentle orchestral passages with the heavy wall of sound that produces something very unique in the world of Metal music. With the release of their most recent EP, Amphibians, SEPTICFLESH continues to create a story that is equally as compelling as the music. So, dive in and become immersed in the world of amphibian demigods, the Nommo. Behold the Amphibians!

Arch Enemy Heroine Joins Savage Lands on New Single

Feast your eyes on the blockbuster video for their star-studded new single and even those outside of the metal scene will know that Savage Lands are fierce defenders of our natural habitat. But this supergroup aren't acting when it comes to preserving the world's ecosystems.

After witnessing how land developers are tearing down Costa Rica's rain forest, Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren and his old guitarist Sylvain Demercastel decided they weren't going to sit around and rust in peace. In 2022, they started Savage Lands, the music industry's first artist-run environmental non-profit.

100% of the royalties from the organization's first feature-length album support their ongoing preservation projects in Costa Rica and other countries. Army of the Trees features members of Sepultura, Heilung, Lord of the Lost and other metallic superstars. On the album's new single "Ruling Queen", Savage Lands call on metal's blue-haired heroine along with one of its strongest axemen to help defend their turf.

"Art and activism converge in a space of meaning, and that is where I choose to stand", says Arch Enemy front woman Alissa White-Gluz. "Metalheads have always been powerful and passionate people in my eyes. I hold deep gratitude for Savage Lands and their relentless work in safeguarding the fragile beauty of Costa Rica's ecosystem".

"It has been my pleasure and honor to be part of this unbelievable project", Obituary guitarist Kenneth Andrews says. "Let's do our part!"

Watch the video for "Ruling Queen" featuring Alissa White-Gluz and Kenneth Andrews below.

Army of the Trees comes out February 15, 2025 on Season of Mist.

Scenes from "Ruling Queen" were shot on location in the 100,000 square feet of high-risk Costa Rican rainforest that Savage Lands has preserved using royalties from their music. But while the video opens on a peaceful mountain vista, the rumble of drum fills from Loco Muerte's Florian Pons warn that trouble is afoot. Before the guitars can even sink their teeth into the song's biting riff, a band of armed soldiers come storming through the forest hellbent on turning a profit.

It's a sight and sound that Savage Lands' co-founders know all too well. "After hearing chainsaws tear through Costa Rica on a daily basis, we knew it was time to act", says Sylvain, "because the buzzing is only getting louder".

Savage Lands is backed by environmental activists and angry metalheads alike. The world-famous Nordic collective Heilung donated $1 for every ticket sold during their most-recent U.S. tour to support their Season of Mist label mates. Hellfest followed by donating 1 million Euro to the organization over the next five years. During their performance on the main stage at last year's festival, Sylvain and the core band were joined by members of Napalm Death, Biohazard, Body Count, Textures, The Gathering, Nasum and Cultura tres. Savage Lands is also partnering with the Jane Goodall Institute on biodiversity projects in France and Africa.

Now, with their new single, Savage Lands are adding the queen of the jungle to their ranks. As the softly swirling melody of "Ruling Queen" appears like a break in the clouds, who else should appear but the leading lady of the Swedish melodeath dynasty Arch Enemy. "Fall of the universe", Alissa White-Gluz sings as she stalks the video's unsuspecting invaders from the treetops. Even her soaring cleans are heavy with disdain for her soon-to-be prey. "We're nothing special, we're no heroes".

Joining forces with Alissa came naturally to Savage Lands. While she and Dirk have crossed paths with their respective bands on the international touring circuit, they're also both vegans and animal rights advocates. "That's important to us", Dirk says about the partnership behind "Ruling Queen". "Obviously, it's great when Savage Lands receives support from a huge star like Alissa, but that she also buys into the philosophy behind our organization makes it even better".

Sharing similar beliefs about the environment led Savage Lands and the Arch Enemy front woman to develop an organic songwriting chemistry. Though slotted toward the top of the album's tracklist, "Ruling Queen" was one of the last songs that Sylvain and core vocalist Poun wrote for Army of the Trees. It came together quickly, too. Shredding leads, crashing cymbals and the booming bass of Poun's Black Bomb A bandmate Etienne Treton surge together into a raging chorus that's as powerful and free-flowing as a waterfall.

"The good songs tend to come together easily", Sylvain says, though Savage Lands needed some guidance from the song's namesake when carving out the verses. "Alissa is a true professional", he continues, "She has a very analytical way of working but also understands the power of symbols". She helped strike the right balance between Poun's bat-like scream and her cavernous growl. "The whole world is sick with fear", they shout in unison, a bone-crushing refrain that sticks in your head long after you're finished headbanging.

"To walk among the flora and fauna of Costa Rica has been a long-held aspiration for me", Alissa says. "To do so while creating music and championing their protection was not just a privilege but a reminder - true purpose lies in something greater than oneself".

Making the video for "Ruling Queen" wasn't always such a breeze. Gornoss directed Savage Lands and company on a 10-day trek through Costa Rica. Setting up inside the heart of the jungle did give them a bird's-eye view of a hard-working colony of leafcutter ants, but filming at night besides a giant, roaring campfire tested everyone's mettle. "It was so hot", Sylvain remembers. "I couldn't touch the side of my guitar".

While certainly no stranger to the swamps, Obituary's Kenneth Andrews had some mild reservations about joining the video team's excursion. After hearing his bandmate John Tardy unleash his inner primate on Savage Land's first-ever single, the seasoned vet was dying to flex his chops on "Ruling Queen". "Once I got the call, everything came together naturally and very quickly", Andrews says. "Before I knew it, I was flying to Costa Rica to shoot the video". The extreme metal guitarist was sweating over filming amidst the beasts of the jungle but seeing the calming beauty of Costa Rica's ecosystem up close and personal restored his timeless cool.

"The experience was very surreal", Andrews continues. "I will never forget the hospitality and professionalism of the whole crew, not to mention being part of a very important movement that I honestly didn't understand the scope of until meeting everyone involved. My eyes have been opened...wide!" Flanked by Alissa's knockout belt, his courageous solo brings the video's villains to their knees.

"That makes me really happy", Sylvain says. "It shows that it's possible to change the way people think about nature. Our goals are attainable. By converting the land that we purchase into nature sanctuaries, Savage Lands will help set a precedent for environmental activism. But we must work together and quickly. Ecosystems are still under attack. If we don’t, then there won’t be any wildlife left to save”.

Raise your horns and join the Army of the Trees in support of the metal non-profit.

Just listening to "Ruling Queen" helps support Savage Lands. 100% of the song’s royalties fund the musician-run non-profit’s preservation efforts.

The CD Digisleeve for Army of the Trees is made from eco paper, while the LP is pressed on BioVinyl.

Reconciler Announce "Three Songs" EP + Release "Stockholm Syndrome"

Reconciler is delivering high-energy punk on their new track "Stockholm Syndrome" as a catalyst to announce their upcoming "Three Songs" EP coming out on March 7, 2025.

Merchandise, vinyl, and other products for the EP release are available here.

The band's vocalist Joseph Lazzari explains, "Stockholm Syndrome describes a phenomenon where captives bond with their captors. Some captives may even aid in carrying out the causes of their captors. It's a grey area that may or may not exist where victims aid in their own victimization. This song moves like an assembly line - sharp, fast, metallic, and unforgiving. It contemplates the 'American Dream' as a version of Stockholm Syndrome. We’re brainwashed to sacrifice our lives to buy second and third homes for our bosses and we take pride in calling it a work ethic. We fall asleep with big dreams about what tomorrow will bring and we wake up with aches and pains we can’t afford to fix. We call ourselves number 1 and we worship our leaders like heroes because it's easier that way. It's comforting to believe that the hard times will amount to something. Johnny Thunders knew he was born to lose, but baby, the rest of us were too."

ABOUT RECONCILER:
Reconciler is a band from Atlanta, GA first amplified in the summer of
2016. Harkening to a sound alternately Southeast and East Bay, they released their debut LP, Set Us Free, in February of 2019 to critical acclaim. A split 7-inch with the legendary Gainesville outfit, Ship Thieves followed in January of 2021. With a solidified new lineup and a refined focus, Reconciler went to work completing their sophomore album, Art For Our Sake, released on Smartpunk Records in the U.S. and Gunner Records in Europe in February of 2024. The band followed the release with their first tour of Europe and The U.K. Art For Our Sake’s singles were featured on editorial playlists, and widely played on college radio. The album’s title track became the most-played song on Sirius XM’s Faction Punk station for several months. On March 7th, 2025, Reconciler will release a limited 7-inch, Three Songs, ahead of a southern tour and SXSW appearance.Three Songs offers a heavier, more visceral side of Reconciler’s heart-on-sleeve approach.

ABOUT SMARTPUNK RECORDS:
Smartpunk has been a recognizable name in the scene for a long time (remember that sponsored Warped Tour stage?!). After exchanging several hands and countless ideas of what it could and should be, they decided to start a record label in 2016 with the main idea of focusing solely on reissuing records that have been out of print or never on vinyl. After all, they’re a label of vinyl dorks themselves! After releasing Set Your Goals' "Mutiny" and Gameface's "Good,” they started to venture into signing newer bands. They actively balance in between many worlds—putting out amazing music from friends and bands that rock, reissuing older titles, and partnering with other incredible labels in our scene and doing exclusive color variants of their releases.

"Since forming the record label, Smartpunk Records has released timeless albums such as Less Than Jake’s Anthem, Nominee’s Lowlife, RIVALS’ Sad Looks Pretty on Me, Virginity's POPMORTEM, and melodic skate punkers The Swellers' My Everest."

American Power Metallers JUDICATOR Announce New Album 'Concord' due to release on March 28th!

American power metallers JUDICATOR have announced their highly anticipated new album Concord, due to release on March 28. Concord marks the band’s 7th full-length album, and was funded by a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign.  Pre-save the new album on Spotify HERE.

Pre-order the album on Bandcamp and order new merch HERE.

Judicator have also shared their triumphant new single, the eponymous “Concord,” along with a music video. “Concord” is as relentless as it is poignant. The song calls out to a world at odds with itself, ready to embrace its own collapse with hopes that something better might rise from the ashes.

“We wanted to capture the tension between despair and hope — how beauty and devastation coexist, and how we, as individuals and groups, are tasked with choosing which force to nurture,” says vocalist John Yelland. “The lyrics embody that struggle.”

Watch: Judicator - “Concord” Below:

Judicator will release Concord one week prior to the band’s debut performance in Europe, at Epic Fest in Roskilde, Denmark. This special, 60-minute performance will serve as a celebration of Concord's release, and will also close out the festival.

“I can’t think of a more special way to celebrate our new album,” says guitarist Chad Anderson. “Performing in Europe has been a personal goal of ours since we first became musicians. We think that Epic Fest embodies the future of metal festivals, and we’re thrilled to be a part of it.”

Judicator is one of modern power metal’s most dynamic, up-and-coming bands. Since their formation in 2012, the band has become well known for their intricate character studies about historical figures like Napoleon Bonaparte and Frederick the Great, as well as personal explorations of life and loss. Their new album Concord explores ideas and themes centered around the American West.

Concord is an epic exploration of American identity, blending historical events, folklore, and themes of cultural disconnection. With powerful storytelling that navigates both awe and tragedy of the American West, the album confronts the complexities of survival, power, and loss, offering a deeply resonant and thought-provoking journey through the nation’s fractured heritage.

Over seven albums now, Judicator have continually expanded their musical horizons. Their album The Last Emperor featured a guest appearance by Blind Guardian’s Hansi Kürsch, and in 2024, they had the surreal opportunity to open for Blind Guardian in Salt Lake City on their God Machine North American tour. From their humble beginnings to global recognition, Judicator continually demonstrates why they are indisputably one of power metal’s most innovative acts.

Post-punk legends Pink Turns Blue presents 'Dancing With Ghosts', previewing 'Black Swan' album and European tour dates

European post-punk stalwarts Pink Turns Blue present their new single 'Dancing With Ghosts' and accompanying video, confronting the agonizing reality of toxic relationships, those soul-draining connections we often share with the people closest to us.  It's a raw exploration of the struggle to escape the "ghosts" of the past and the arduous, but ultimately liberating, journey toward self-preservation.

This is the third offering from their forthcoming album 'Black Swan', a term used for an unexpected event that, in retrospect, is rationalized as if one could have prepared for it. This record is set for release on limited edition vinyl, CD and digitally via Orden Records on February 28,

Earlier, the band shared 'Stay For The Night', a celebration of the postpunk - goth rock - darkwave community, and the lead track 'Black Swan (But I Know There Is More to Life)', the album's only ballad, which delves into profound questions about existence, life’s purpose and the beauty of the world.

Today made up of Mic Jogwer (vocals, guitar), Paul Richter (drums) and Luca Sammuri (bass), Pink Turns Blue - named after a Hüsker Dü song - emerged in 1985 in the first generation of gothic rock. Their debut album 'If Two Worlds Kiss' advanced the darkwave sub-genre while becoming a seminal post-punk album. Emerging from the fear and uncertainty of a divided Cold War Germany and inspired by Joy Division, The Sound and The Chameleons, they have since released a dozen full-length LPs and have become known for their trademark blend of post-punk, alternative rock and new wave.

Mic Jogwer shares, "An exclamation to escape a complicated relationship, 'Dancing With Ghosts' is a song about our difficulty of breaking out of an unhealthy bond. Some last a lifetime – and are not good for us at all. They suck all our energy, never give, always take. And whatever we do, it's never right and never good enough. And since it's often our best friend, mother, or sister, it feels like we owe them something, but every time we try to do something good for them, we just feel miserable and used. There is no easy way out, because whatever we do, we lose. These spirits will haunt us forever unless we challenge them and eventually manage to leave them behind. We're Dancing With Ghosts."

After the widely acclaimed ‘Tainted’ album in 2021, the companion 'Tainted Tour 2022' EP and successful American and European tours with often-sold-out concerts, this new studio album will be followed by their 'Black Swan' tour, which sees them visit clubs through Germany in April.

Pink Turns Blue has achieved pretty much everything an indie band could wish for - Album of the Year (Byte FM), Best Album of 2021 (Post-Punk.com), singles reaching number 1 in the German Alternative Charts and Indie Disco Top 40, excellent reviews in worldwide music press, well attended and sold-out club concerts spanning from Los Angeles to Yerevan.

As of February 7, 'Dancing With Ghosts' is available everywhere, including Apple MusicSpotify, and Bandcamp. The full 'Black Swan' album will finally be released on limited-edition vinyl and CD editions, as well as digitally on all streaming platforms, on February 28. It can now be pre-ordered in physical formats, or digitally via Bandcamp.  Tickets for Pink Turns Blue's upcoming tour dates can be ordered at https://pinkturnsblue.com/ live-dates.

THE VICE Announce New EP "A Great Unrest" and Unleash Gloomy Video for First Single and Title Track!

Swedish dark metal act THE VICE has announced the release of the band's upcoming five track EP A Great Unrest, set to be released on March 7 via Noble Demon

Following the success of their latest full-length album, Dead Canary Run (2024, Noble Demon), THE VICE embarked on an exciting journey to create a series of EPs. The addition of Joel Öhman, a long-time collaborator, has transformed the band into a finely-tuned quartet, enriching their sound with fresh perspectives and innovative approaches.

The first offering from this new chapter, A Great Unrest,  has this growth on full display, amplifying every inch of the foundation made of blackened metal, ambient pop and unbridled rock n roll.

The five tracks - three new ones, a cover of "1 Sun" by Miley Cyrus and a rearranged version of "Welcome The Storm" from the latest album - were recorded in the fall of 2024 at Studio Underjord (Skraeckoedlan, Magna Carta Cartel, Haystack among others) in rural Sweden.

Fresh off of writing and recording a full album, this EP was the perfect way to musically break the "limitations" that can come when working to create a really unified piece of art.

And while it wasn't exactly Fantomas-levels of diverse tracks, sound engineer and owner of the studio, Joona Hassinen really pulled his 'A' game giving it a coherent sound. "A Great Unrest" sounds a bit lighter, yet more harsh than "Dead Canary Run" with an electrified, distorted tension running throughout.

In support of the upcoming release, THE VICE have unleashed the first single and title track of the EP. The song is accompanied by a new & gloomy music video, which you can watch below.

Listen to "A Great Unrest" HERE

Guitarist Rickard about the track: "To me, 'A Great Unrest' is everything that The Vice is all about, boiled down to its purest form. One sinister fucking riff, a couple of choruses trembling with fierceness, passion and rebellion, and a final act to release all that built up tension in a beautiful, yet most ominous way. All in under three and a half minute, really think we obliterated every head of every nail with this one."

Regarding the EP's themes, the band adds:
"Thematically there wasn't any other ideas, thoughts, than usual when entering the studio. The Vice is, has always been, and will forever be about unrest, rebellion, those mixed feelings of unease and ecstacy when balancing on the last inches of the edge, about to plunge into the void. Some songs here and there have more specific themes, but in general it's reflections and ideas about this existence from a quite calm, gathered perspective though always prepared, anticipating the moment when the tension breaks and the unknown madness begins. Somewhere along the way the visual representations like the cover art, music video, title etc all started to lean towards some kind of cold war aesthetics. This was absolutely not intentional, never discussed and nothing we'd naturally turn to. Sure some things led to the other, but at least some of it feels like the music just had an inherent vibe of that, cold, metallic, bleak, post-war vibe."

"A Great Unrest " will be coming out on March 7 via Noble Demon and is now available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION

Finnish Powerhouse Vocalists LAURENNE/LOUHIMO Announce New Album 'Falling Through Stars' Out April 18th via Frontiers Music Srl

Today, LAURENNE/LOUHIMO - the collaboration between powerhouse Finnish vocalists Noora Louhimo (Battle Beast) and Netta Laurenne (Smackbound) – announce the release of their sophomore album 'Falling Through Stars', set for release on April 18, 2025 via Frontiers Music Srl. The first single and accompanying video, “Damned”, are also available now.

On the single, LAURENNE comments:

'Damned' is our first single release, and it represents the most classic style of melodic metal and hard rock on the album. Full of energy and attitude, we wanted to create a video that shows us performing alongside the musicians who played on the album. The song explores the struggles of battling inner demons, depression and self-doubt - while also capturing the determination to rise above them.”

Watch the Music Video for “Damned” below:

LAURENNE/LOUHIMO is one of the most exciting projects on Frontiers Music Srl and, in this second chapter, deliver a full force metal assaults with the power to blow you away.

LAURENNE/LOUHIMO offers listeners a mix of heavy metal and hard rock tracks that explores the variety of the genre, while maintaining a straightforward, easy-to-enjoy appeal.

'Falling Through Stars' has shades of all eras of Rainbow here and there, as well as Judas Priest and many other 80s icons of the style. All of these influences are expertly filtered into Netta and Noora's way of composing music.

The idea of a possible collaboration between Netta and Noora became a reality once the pandemic started and cleared out calendars for both artists. It felt like a perfect time to start the project and share all the things they have in common, from the same original town to similar idols and influences.

The main highlights of the album are, naturally, the vocal melodies created and shared by Netta Laurenne and Noora Louhimo.

'Falling Through Stars' has been once again produced at the Sonic Pump studio under the guidance of Nino Laurenne (who also played the guitars and contributed to the songwriting). The production is clear and powerful and gives the deserved value to the two stars here.

Songs like “Falling Through Stars”, “Damned”, “Loud And Clear” or “Wait” are just a few of the highlights of a great album that will please all melodic metal fans!

Commenting on the album, LAURENNE states:

'Falling Through Stars' is the second collaborative album with Noora, and it gave us the opportunity to step in and out of our comfort zones to meet halfway. We had a great time writing and recording the album, which I co-produced with my husband, Nino Laurenne. This album takes us on a journey through both the past and future of metal. We’ve aimed to incorporate styles, instruments, and emotions spanning from the ’70s to the present day. It’s a dynamic album that showcases both raw power and delicate moments, and we’re excited to share it with everyone”

BRKN LOVE Announces Third Full-Length LP 'The Program' out via Spinefarm on March 28th!

Modern Canadian rockers BRKN LOVE are pleased to announce the forthcoming release of their third full-length album, 'The Program,' due out March 28th via Spinefarm.

Exuding bravado, mystique, and a whole lot of heart, BRKN LOVE sets the rulebook on fire by plugging in, turning up, and churning out the kind of rock ‘n’ roll that makes you feel a little freer. Their gritty riffs pack enough punch to shake any stage while the grooves quake with just the right amount of hip-swinging gusto. Led by vocalist and guitarist Justin Benlolo, the music drips swagger, soul, and spirit amplified by arena-sized hooks and intriguingly inventive musicality.

To mark the album's announcement, BRKN LOVE has shared its first single "Pulling Leeches" along with a new music video, available below.

About the single Justin had this to say:

"We’re so excited to share our brand-new single, 'Pulling Leeches,' with you! This song came from a deeply raw place, and we poured everything into making it as gritty and unapologetic as possible. For us, it’s all about shedding your skin, breaking free from the tethers that hold you back, and confronting the feeling of a parasitic lover feeding off you—just like a leech. We drew heavy inspiration from bands like The White Stripes and The Black Keys, recording this track in a single take at Foo Fighters’ Studio 606 to capture its organic energy.

"We had so much fun making this one, and we hope you feel that, too. Turn it up and enjoy. Thank you!"

Watch the New Music Video for "Pulling Leeches" Below:

An impromptu 2023 trip to visit a friend in Charleston, SC gave rise to their third studio album, 'The Program.' Justin initially planned on spending a weekend in town. That weekend turned into nine weeks, and he returned to Toronto with the bulk of the album’s material.

“I didn’t have anything else to do, so I brought all of my gear and studio equipment,” he recalls. “I was so inspired by the environment and the friends I made. It’s a big city, but it’s not huge. It’s just beautiful though. The experience inspired the whole record. Instead of being so picturesque and metaphorical, I told stories.”

The album title even referenced the name of the text group for his new friends in Charleston, embedding the experience and the city in the fabric of the music. The vision had already crystallized before he left for Los Angeles where he recorded with longtime producer Anton DeLost (CleopatrickThe WarningState ChampsDead Poet Society). These friends, and a variety of other characters he met, ultimately inspired the concept at the heart of "The Program."

“It was a collective of 10 people I’d never met before, and we kept using the term ‘The Program’ repeatedly like, ‘Let’s go here, because it would be good for The Program’,” he goes on. “It was cool to be surrounded by near-complete strangers, invite them to our place, and play demos. Their opinions were unfiltered and blunt—which was awesome. I was actively searching for inspiration, and I put myself out there in different situations. I was free and unchained to do anything.”

BRKN LOVE fulfilled a clear destiny to be as free as possible on their third full-length LP, 'The Program.'

“In the past, I put parameters on what BRKN LOVE is supposed to be,” Justin mentions. “I’ve been hesitant to put out certain songs because I was unsure if they were us. I’m older and wiser. I have more experience doing this. I know if I’m singing and writing a song, it’s going to be BRKN LOVE. I’m the filter the music passes through.”

Pre-Order 'The Program' HERE

BRKN LOVE emerged with their self-titled debut in 2020. The group quietly generated over a quarter of a billion total streams. They notched a Top 15 entry on Active Rock radio with “Shot Down,” while their cover of “River” by Bishop Briggs hit critical mass. It inspired over 2 billion-plus views on TikTok. It piled up 28 million Spotify streams. 2022’s 'Black Box' only maintained this momentum. “Like A Drug” notched north of 8.5 million Spotify streams, made waves at Active Rock, and emerged as their third Top 5 at Canadian radio.

SENNA Announce New Album "Stranger To Love" + Share Video For New Single "High Note"

German metalcore band SENNA are proud to announce the release of their debut album, Stranger To Love, on May 23. Ahead of the full-length project, the band unveiled its lead single, "High Note," available to stream everywhere.

Watch the official video below:

With Stranger To Love, SENNA present an intimate and deeply reflective collection of songs that explore the subtleties of human connection and personal growth.

Marcel, speaking on the album's themes, shares: "Stranger To Love is a collection of anecdotes from our own personal lives. These stories are not special in the sense that they are not extraordinary or unique to just us. They are not these once-in-a-lifetime experiences that change everything. They're the kinds of experiences that happen quietly, in everyday moments. A conversation that didn't go as planned. Feelings that linger longer than they should. Slowly realizing that things have changed in a relationship.

"What makes these stories meaningful is not that they are special, but that they are real. They happen to us, they happen to people everywhere, every day. Sometimes they happen in obvious ways, sometimes in ways that barely get noticed. They're part of what it means to figure things out. In the end, these moments connect us, even if we experience them in our own way."

The first taste of the album comes with "High Note," a track that dives deep into the emotional struggle of moving forward while wrestling with the past.

Simon describes the song, saying, "In a world that demands constant motion, there’s an undeniable tension between the pull of escape and the weight of what’s left behind. Our latest track 'High Note' captures that struggle—a raw exploration of navigating life’s harsh realities and the fleeting comfort found in temporary highs. It's a reflection on vulnerability, the search for refuge, and the relentless push to keep moving forward, even when the path feels uncertain."

SENNA have been steadily carving out their space in the alternative music scene with their raw lyricism and dynamic sound. With Stranger To Love, the band expands their sonic landscape, delivering a record that is both deeply personal and universally relatable.

Adding to the excitement, SENNA will join The Devil Wears Prada as support on their highly anticipated EU/UK tour next month sharing the stage with SeeYouSpaceCowboy and Kingdom of Giants.

For two decades, Pop Evil frontman Leigh Kataky has needed to mine the deepest of reserves in order to drag the band up from the blue-collar grassroots of his local Michigan scene to stand proud at the top of the modern rock game. Soaring successes, bitter defeats… Leigh Kakaty has survived it all.

What Remains is the culmination and story of this journey with Pop Evil, laid bare like never before. Continuing in the recent vein of 2023's acclaimed Skeletons, the new opus is both sonically and thematically Pop Evil's heaviest ever offering; a thundering collection of arena-ready modern rock and metal hits in which Kakaty opens heart, mind, and soul.

"There are a lot of issues and things that I've dealt with in this journey of Pop Evil that I've buried for a long time," the frontman explains of this document of resilience, perseverance, and accountability.

Pop Evil were born in North Muskegon, Michigan in 2001, Kakaty drawing on the lessons of a youth first shaped not by music, but by high school basketball — leadership, team work, the drive to improve in the lonely hours put in at the gym at 5am, the will to win suppressing any fear — in order to fight tooth and nail for their break-out moment.

"I was hustling and learning every day to make my dreams come true," Kakaty recalls of his time playing local bars and slinging early EPs out of the back of his truck. "Studying never interested me. Neither did getting a regular job. A knee injury wrecked my shot at playing sports. Music was all I wanted to do from that moment, and I didn't give myself a backup plan. Pop Evil gave me a purpose, and a reason to get up every day. It became a crusade."

Lipstick on the Mirror, their 2008 debut, and its follow-up, War of Angels, brought acclaim and global attention; 2013's Onyx delivered the first of the band's nine No.1 singles and six RIAA-certified gold and platinum plaques, but also a period of darkness brought on by the grief of Kakaty losing his father. "I was completely lost … I had just missed the last five years with my dad, chasing this dream when I could have been with him. I didn’t know if I wanted or could do Pop Evil any more," he says. The band’'s 2017 self-titled album, opened by the smash-hit "Waking Lions" was written "pretty much to save my life" – but in turn “reminded me of the fire I have inside, and that God put me here to make music that could help people."

It's a mission statement enshrined in Pop Evil to this day — and which provided the spark for the genesis of What Remains.

“You're always chasing that one song that can connect with that one person," Kakaty says. "And that process has to start with yourself. There's a lot of personal healing on this record, a lot of things I wanted to get out for my own mental well-being. I'm finally
at a place where I can confront my demons."

Sonically, the album is a riotous explosion of life-affirming noise; a vortex of scything riffs and gut-punch drum beats that regularly give way to Pop Evil's hallmark anthemic choruses.

"We set out to push boundaries," nods Kakaty. "Metal has always been a part of our DNA, but we've never made it such a focal point before. A lot of writing on this record has been about listening to what my soul is saying and letting the songs find their own path, rather than chasing a sound that might fit in on the radio. I think you can really hear the mood and emotion of the album's themes in the music."

Rotting Christ Announce New Live Album

ROTTING CHRIST have stood the test of time. Over the past 35 years, Sakis Tolis, his brother Themis and their brothers-in-arms have risen from Greece's blackened catacombs to become one of metal's most formidably reliable forces.

Backed by a legacy that has both defined and defied black metal, last year, the Greek legends carved out a new set of dark, melodic scriptures with fresh rebellion on the unbreakable Pro Xristou

"...this is the most arena-worthy Rotting Christ have been in some time", No Clean Singing wrote about their latest album.

Now, Rotting Christ are celebrating 35 years of evil existence with a new live album. This two-hour set was recorded at the Lycabettus Hill Theater in the band's hometown of Athens. Like a Greek pantheon, it spans the band's entire career, from early evil classics to the pillars of their Hellenic legacy, including the stadium-shaking title track from their spirited eleventh album.

Watch Rotting Christ perform "Κατά τον Δαίμονα Εαυτού" Live in Lycabettus below:

Pro Xristou is bound to hold a revered place in the Rotting Christ’s heretical history. Always true to their name, the band’s fourteenth album – which, in English, means “Before Christ” –  pays tribute to the last of the Pagan kings by offering up more towering, gothic, melodic black metal.

“Our new album was inspired by the might of ancient pagan wisdom”, says frontman Sakis Tolis. “It’s a tribute to those who resisted the coming of Christianity, which destroyed all the values, traditions and knowledge of the ancient world”.

Later this spring, Rotting Christ are blessing Europe on The Unholy Trinity Tour with Behemoth and Satyricon. Then this summer, the band will return stateside for an exclusive performance at Milwaukee Metalfest.

Pro Xristou (‘Before Christ’ in Greek), serves as a fervent tribute to the last Pagan kings who resisted the onslaught of Christianity, guarding their ancient values and knowledge. In this thematic odyssey, intricately woven through tracks such as ‘The Apostate’ and ‘Ygdrassil’, Rotting Christ delves into the legacies of historical figures such as Flavius Claudius Julianus and Nordic mythological kings, embodying the might of Pagan wisdom in the face of Christian adversity. The album encapsulates the essence of Rotting Christ’s signature style – melodic, yet harsh at times – reinventing themselves yet again, while remaining rooted in their 35-year legacy.

Sleep Theory Announce Debut Album + Share "Static" Video

Breakout four-piece Sleep Theory — vocalist Cullen Moore, guitarist Daniel Pruitt, bassist Paolo Vergara, and drummer Ben Pruitt — were one of the biggest success stories of both 2023 and 2024. The band dominated the radio airwaves and charts; were one of the most buzzed about bands on the festival circuit; won over fans at every show they played; and turns heads at press, with everyone from Revolver to Loudwire to Alternative Press to Forbes to Ones to Watch unable to deny the band's DNA-distinct blend of hard rock.

Today, Sleep Theory storm headlong into 2025 by announcing their eagerly awaited debut album, Afterglow, which arrives on May 16 via Epitaph Records

The album, which offers a stunning display of diverse rock flavors, was produced by David Cowell and mixed by Zakk Cervini (Bring Me The Horizon, Bad Omens, Architects).

Pre-order it here

Sleep Theory are also thrilled to share the video for the new single "Static," which serves as the album's opener. It starts with a ferocious roar before launching into their signature dynamic, heavy bounce and massive vocal hooks.

Watch the video Below:

Sleep Theory combine energetic hard rock and metalcore, alongside the powerhouse vocalist Cullen Moore. Praised by Jelly Roll and David Draiman, they've toured with Shinedown, Falling In Reverse, and Beartooth. In under two years, they became the fifth most-played artist on Active Rock radio. Afterglow and the Paper Hearts EP merge heavy rock with pop and R&B, producing anthemic bangers and emotional ballads. Saluted by Revolver, Loudwire, and Amazon Music as an Artist to Watch in 2025, they've become one of heavy music's biggest breakouts.

With Afterglow, the quartet proves ready to ascend to the next level.

Spawn of Possession Are Reborn on "Retromorphosis"

Eight years ago, the underground lost a unique leader when Spawn of Possession crawled into their hallowed crypt. Foul-mouthed disciples still utter the name SoP with reverence, but while others tried to crack the band's forbidden cabinet, these accursed innovators were secretly festering in their grave, plotting to return and haunt the world of extreme metal once more.

Now, the undead masses can finally rejoice. Thanks to a healthy kick from their decrepit new drummer, Spawn of Possession has been reborn as Retromorphosis. With their debut album, this new band of freakish players emerge with the missing link in technical death metal's evolutionary chain. The latest mutation off Psalmus Mortis is a living testament to their ungodly strength.

"Retromorphosis" upholds the heretical traditions hammered down by the band's forefather. After all, Spawn of Possession also had a song named after them on their deviant debut. "If you're going to have a song with the same name as your band, then it has to appear on your first album", says Jonas Bryssling, who started Retromorphosis during the pandemic after his pick hand was once again bit by death metal's radioactive songwriting bug.

Put under the microscope and the band's new single does share SoP's unreplicable DNA. Christian Muenzner zips through not one, not two, but three guitar solos, each one packed with more technically innovative twists than a triple helix. No matter which way their tales leave you tossing and turning in the dead of night, all of the songs on Psalmus Mortis spiral into madness, but on "Retromorphosis", Dennis Röndum growls like a man freshly possessed by the devil on his massive shoulders. "I'm the one / chosen son / gifted and reborn".

While marked by their beastly signature skills, Psalmus Mortis adds more raw edge to the mix. The album was produced by fellow Swede Magnus Sedenberg, who's been the band's preferred death dealer since Spawn of Possession's first two demos. But Retromorphosis scrapes away all of the studio polish that's become fashionable even in today's underground. As shown by his latest bass playthrough, Erlend Casperson can groove along the same brain waves as the most high-minded shredders, but his tone on their new single reeks of the gutter.

"I prefer my death metal to sound ugly and mean", Bryssling says with a satisfied grin.

More muscular face pounding isn't Retromorphosis only hideous mutation. As Bryssling rips into chunky riffs with the unsavory appetite of an old-school cannibal, ex-Decrepit Birth drummer K.C. Howard beats you senseless with rabid blasts and pounding double bass. But while less techy, Psalmus Mortis does experiment with some unconventional instruments of torture. "All I hear is voice of God / it never leaves me", Röndum declares in depraved glory, backed by sinister organ glows and a choir of angels who raise their voices as if condemned to the depths of hell.

“We had rules in Spawn of Possession”, Bryssling explains when asked what separates Retromorphosis from his earlier offspring. “Everything had to always be so intense. Retromorphosis is more free. Psalmus Mortis can be eerie, doomy or even quite simple”.

Ask Bryssling to identify what separates this new baby from their first born and the answer is, in fact, quite simple."Retromorphosis is more free". Put the song that bears their name under the microscope and feast your eyes on everything this band are capable of: non-stop blasting, brain-bursting bass fills, solos that would fry a supercomputer and pure unholiness. “I’m the one / chosen son / gifted and reborn”.

With Psalmus Mortis, technical death metal’s chosen ones rise from the grave.

ABDUCTION Release New Single "Blau ist die Farbe der Ewigkeit" + Video!

UK extreme metal collective ABDUCTION has released a new single, "Blau ist die Farbe der Ewigkeit," from their forthcoming album, 'Existentialismus,' set to be released on February 21, 2025 via Candlelight.

The new track is a harrowing exploration of the band's signature sound, a masterful amalgamation of otherworldly atmospheres, searing aggression, and apocalyptic tension. "Blau ist die Farbe der Ewigkeit" offers a chilling, yet cohesive glimpse into the bleak, introspective universe the band continues to craft, drawing their listeners into a sonic abyss that is as unforgiving as it is captivating.

With 'Existentialismus,' ABDUCTION continues to push the boundaries of extreme metal, their sound a fierce embodiment of nihilistic intensity. And as the album's release date draws near, "Blau ist die Farbe der Ewigkeit" serves as a potent warning of the darkness yet to come.

Comments vocalist A|V:

"The city swine are feasting, eyes fixated on all that is surplus, transitory, and inane.

"All at once was the flood.

"Unwilling rats, unknowing of their stench.

"Spiralling towards the sewer...

"Perfect."

Following their 2022 album, 'Black Blood,' which showcased the band's fiercely expansive sound, ABDUCTION is now poised to push their musical boundaries even further. With many bands currently paying homage to black metal’s glory years and just as many attempting to connect unrelated workings to that legacy, ABDUCTION’s music manages to be both recognizably authentic and imbued with its own spirit. And never has this been truer than in the new album, 'Existentialismus.'

The band will also be hitting the road for a series of exclusive live dates in March, bringing the intensity of 'Existentialismus' to the stage in support of the album's release.

Pre-Order 'Existentialismus' HERE

Having become one of the UK’s most visible black metal acts on the live circuit, bringing their ritualistic and immersive performances to audiences at club shows and festivals such as Damnation, Bloodstock, Incineration, Fortress, Mass Destruction, Samhain, Reaperfest, and Eradication, 'Existentialismushas been recorded, for the first time, as a full band.

“It’s inspired by the juxtaposition of this horrible post-truth era with its contradictions and the simple, metaphorical truths that began in ancient religions of the crumbling past. Somewhere between a biblical gospel and a Nietzschean nightmare. As a father, there’s a particular terror in seeing all that our grandfathers built, physically and morally, being torn apart and reduced to a commodity and wondering what kind of world my son will inherit.”

“I am by no means a philosopher – I desperately lack the patience,” A|V admits. “But my observations of the modern Western humane race have become particularly bleak, and this informs my lyrical writing process. Art as a reaction to life and experience. This is laid out in the first track, ‘A Legacy of Sores’, which posits that most of us here, in the current year, have become an alarming pairing of being both too sensitive and yet without any core beliefs to stand on. (‘Wet skin now paper thin, reveals a core of dust’) I think this is a mixture of a post-religious society and the acceleration of technology to the point at which its claws are deeply in us. Have you tried to live without a smartphone recently?”

'Existentialismus' was recorded and produced by Ian Boult at Stuck On A Name Studios in Nottingham, while the final touches of post-production and mastering were handled by Tore Stjerna (WatainMayhemDeströyer 666) at Necromorbus Studios in Sweden. The striking and immersive cover art is the work of Julia Soboleva.

50TH ANNIVERSARY REISSUE OF ANGEL'S DEBUT ALBUM TO COINCIDE WITH THEIR 2025 TOUR!

Employing a dazzling mix of glam rock, hard rock, and progressive rock, Angel's outrageous, white-satin-heavy image and equally over-the-top stage shows, making them one of the more colorful arena rock bands of the mid '70s and early '80s. Discovered by KISS bass player, Gene Simmons, the group issued their eponymous debut album in 1975, which hewed closer to prog rock than the glam pop that would be on future endeavors like On Earth as It Is in Heaven (1977) and Sinful (1979). The group released a total of five studio albums and one live album before going their separate ways in 1981. The band officially re-formed in 2019 with original members, Punky Meadows and Frank DiMino, and released their comeback studio effort, Risen, later that October and followed up with Once Upon A Time in 2023.

The group's self-titled 1975 debut was recorded for Casablanca Records with a line-up comprising Frank DiMino (vocals), Punky Meadows (guitar), Gregg Giuffria (keyboards), Mickie Jones (bass), and Barry Brandt (drums). A heavy slab of heavy pomp rock with lengthy songs featuring the longtime stage favorite "Tower"

Watch “Tower” Below:

Now to celebrate the 50th Anniversary this classic has been remastered and is being released on both a 6-panel CD digipak and on 180G vinyl in two amazing Limited- Edition Colors with liner notes by journalist Dave Reynolds. There are only 300 of the White-Blue Splatter and 700 of the Black-Blue Swirl available with a limited number of bundles signed by the 4 surviving original members, Frank DiMino, Punky Meadows, Gregg Giuffria, and Barry Brandt.

you, infinite (Feat. Members of This Will Destroy You) Share New Single "The Elder"

You, infinite, the new project from This Will Destroy You founding members, have shared "The Elder;" the latest single from their self-titled debut full-length due February 28, 2025 through Berlin's Pelagic Records.

you, infinite reunites Jeremy Galindo and Raymond Brown, founders of acclaimed instrumental outfit This Will Destroy You, in a new collaborative project. After departing TWDY to pursue a career in medicine, Brown continued to write music while establishing a successful practice in Austin, Texas. During the pandemic, he accumulated a collection of melodies and ideas which he shared with Galindo, sparking a renewed creative partnership. Separated by distance, with Galindo in Los Angeles and Brown in Austin, the duo began to exchange ideas digitally in order to shape the foundations of you, infinite's electronic-edged, panoramic post-rock sound.

Between 2021 and 2024, the two came together in person to refine the pieces and ultimately to finalize the album. Working with Andrew Hernandez, who recorded and mixed the album in the summer of 2024, Brown and Galindo were joined by Johnnie McBryde, Ethan Billips, and Nicholas Huft, all current members of Galindo's TWDY lineup, in order to truly bring the album to life.

An epic collision of fuzzy, acoustic warmth and huge, wall-of-sound guitar work; the exhilarating dynamic composition of "The Elder" is simultaneously a knowing nod to lives since lived whilst also proving that, newly reunited, this groundbreaking creative partnership has so much more to give.

A modern successor to TWDY's own seminal S/T release, you, infinite is a reflection on over 15 years of growth and experience, both as bandmates together and as friends apart. A reimagined and reinvigorated approach to the sound they once pioneered, as you, infinite Galindo and Brown are charting a new course across a familiar yet altogether different landscape; honouring their past whilst boldly forging ahead into places unknown.

you, infinite is due to be released on the February 28. Pre-order it here.
