DORO comments: "Metallica's debut album Kill 'Em All has just celebrated its 40th anniversary. I can still remember the first shows we played together in Europe in the mid-eighties. The Metallica guys (back then with Cliff Burton) were just great and we quickly became friends. There was a very special spirit of optimism in the metal scene that I like to remember. That's why I re-recorded 'The Four Horsemen', one of the early Metallica classics. I still love the song."

New Model Army Share "Coming or Going" — LISTEN // New Album Out Next Week

NEW STUDIO ALBUM UNBROKEN OUT JANUARY 26

"Coming or Going" is the second single taken from New Model Army's new studio album Unbroken, out January 26.

"Coming or Going" is full of guitars, old school energy, and with the emphasis on bass and drums that characterizes all the band's work.

Listen to the track here.

PRE-ORDER UNBROKEN HERE.

Unbroken was written and recorded over quite a long period of time. With the process interrupted by both the delayed 40th anniversary shows and the Sinfonia live orchestral project, this is a very New Model Army album, full of guitars but with the emphasis, as ever, on the rhythmic power of bass and drums, as the band continue to push the boundaries of their signature sound while staying true to their heart. The subjects and moods are variable, creating a diverse collection of tracks which touch on topics ranging from social and political commentary to deeply personal reflections.

"Not much hits me as genuine these days, but New Model Army hits it for me. Wonderfully recorded and produced by themselves, mixing this album felt like a gift. Here’s hoping lots of people feel the same way about listening to it," states Tchad Blake.

Unbroken will be released January 26 via earMUSIC as CD Hardcover Mediabook, Heavyweight Black LP Gatefold, Ltd. Heavyweight Red LP Gatefold and on Digital.

FORMATS:

SYLOSIS - Release Music Video For 'Absent' Alongside Zetra Remix

SYLOSIS have released a video for the track 'Absent', taken from their most recent album, A Sign Of Things To Come. The introspective cut displays a new side of SYLOSIS, as they showcase their masterful understanding of dynamics through post-industrial atmospherics set against their trademark brand of visceral modern metal.

Josh Middleton comments on 'Absent' and its accompanying video:

“Despite having always included darker and quieter songs in our discography, ‘Absent’ represents uncharted territory for Sylosis, while staying true to our commitment to melody and emotion in our music. The video also breaks away from our usual style, and we're grateful for director Daniel Grey's efforts in creating something out of our comfort zone. We're excited to have invited our new friends, Zetra, to bring a fresh perspective to the track with their reimagined remix. Their dark synth influence really adds a new dimension to the song, which we love!”

In regards to the song's lyrics, Josh continues:

“This is a more personal song and I wanted to push myself to try a different direction lyrically as well as with the music video. The song is about being so wrapped up in your own troubles that you neglect to see or appreciate that other people around you may be hurting or in a far worse place than yourself.”

Watch the new video for 'Absent' below.

Alongside the new video, the band have also revealed a remix of the track by shadowy labelmates Zetra. Their reinterpretation of the track drags the industrial elements of the original to the fore, creating a driving and intense portrayal.

Zetra comments:

“A candle has been lit.
Summoned by the riff, we answered the call to transport ‘Absent’ into our realm.
To strip flesh from bone and be born anew.
Witness its transformation.
Thank you, Sylosis.
Always, Zetra.”

GHØSTKID Announce New Album "HOLLYWOOD SUICIDE" + Share Video For "FSU"

"The biggest problem that art has nowadays is that it doesn't hurt anymore," says GHØSTKID vocalist and agent provocateur Sebastian "Sushi" Biesler. "Especially here in Germany, people are so afraid to push boundaries, to make art that makes you think and feel."

By fall 2021, with the world shutdown seemingly over, Sushi wasn't content to let his creative yen languish at home in Germany.

"Even though we had made it through COVID, I was missing being able to play live, to really function as a band," says Sushi. "It didn't feel real to me. I became distanced from the music." A six-week decampment to Los Angeles became the creative fuel for GHØSTKID's next steps.  The last vestiges of Hollywood sleaze, decaying glamour, personal temptation, and the still-vibrant creative vibes of the city became the frontman's "don't-look-before-you-leap" inspiration for the gestating HOLLYWOOD SUICIDE.

The album is a perfect snapshot of an artist finding himself, crawling from his own personal wreckage against a crumbling, mythical Californian milieu. "That's why 'HOLLYWOOD SUICIDE' is the first track. If you really want to make it, you have to give a lot. You have to be willing to give up everything. It's kind of like suicide to the person that you've been when you become an artist."

The matching, lush, and elaborate art adorning the album was created by Aly Wayne Gacy.

Today also marks the release of the eagerly awaited video for GHØSTKID's latest single, "FSU."

Watch the video
below

"'FSU' describes the raw and aggressive lifestyle of not giving a shit about anything and just do whatever you want," comments Biesler, who directed and edited the video in cooperation with Nils Lesser (Vaultroom Production) and Benjamin Klose. "The track was inspired by the Joker from Batman and the pure chaos and anarchy that the character is representing. Even if the lyrics circle around self-destructive behavior, the song is more about the feeling of freedom by dismissing the rules. It's a track about being a misfit and taking back your power, about being yourself, getting rid of labels and becoming independent — basically a big fuck you…"

HOLLYWOOD SUICIDE arrives March 22 and available in the following formats:

Ltd. CD Digipak
Ltd. transp. red LP
Ltd. grey LP (300x) available from cmdistro.de & various other retailers
Ltd. white-black haze LP (500x) available from GHØSTKID
Ltd. translucent highlighter yellow LP (US version) available in the US

"Live is where it's the most real, the most in the moment," says Sushi. "There’s no sense of boundaries, no sense of gender. I wear what I like as long as it looks cool. GHØSTKID, for me, is how I express my art through the music and my persona. When it comes down to art, you should be free." GHØSTKID will be bringing their melody and chaos to American stages for the first time in the spring of 2024 opening for Black Veil Brides, following a European tour with labelmates Blind Channel.

Once more teamed with producer Sky van Hoff, HOLLYWOOD SUICIDE is indeed GHØSTKID's ticket to massive audiences worldwide.

BRODEQUIN Return with Punishing New Album

Brodequin come with a long and sordid history. Jamie and Mike Bailey have been banging people's heads together since 1998. Their first album catapulted the brothers far beyond their kingdom of Knoxville, Tennessee. But after seizing the throne as one of the most brutal rulers in all of metal, the band disappeared into the shadows.

Today, after 20 years, Brodequin are returning with Harbinger of Woe. The band's fourth album lives up to their namesake. It's dark and torturous, but also technically exquisite. Heck, some might even call it a work of art.

Watch the medieval video for "Of Pillars and Trees", which was created by Matti Way of From the North Films below.

Harbinger of Woe comes out March 22, 2024.

“Of Pillars and Trees” is classic Brodequin. Mike's riffs churn like severed limbs through a meat grinder. New drummer Brennan Shackelford pings his cymbals with all the murderous intent of a spiked mace. Heck, the death growls are nasty enough to make you think that Jamie is sucking the blood of his enemies through a straw.

As with every Brodequin song, "Of Pillars and Trees" is rooted in real events. "This song finds its inspiration in the historical practices that involved the utilization of trees for the purpose of torture and execution"," Jamie explains. "Among the myriad methods employed, a prominent example was the affixing of an individual to a pillar, or, more commonly, a tree trunk through the use of long iron nails".

But "Of Pillars and Trees" also branches out into new territory for the band. "The creation process for 'Pillars' started out much like any other Brodequin track", Mike says. "It wasn't until the mid-section came together that it began to diverge. I wanted to slow things down a bit but add some depth with multiple guitar tracks instead of just droning a single riff. As the layers were being written, I kept hearing a synth pattern in my head. But instead of using an actual synth, I recreated what I was hearing on my guitar, using plenty of reverb and delay to get the tone as close to what I was imagining as possible".

After signing with Season of Mist in 2022, Brodequin re-issued their entire discography on LP and CD.

"Relentless, barbaric intensity" - John Gallagher (Dying Fetus), who named Instruments of Torture one of the most brutal albums ever.

"Kicks in like a sledgehammer" - Metal Rage raved over Methods of Execution

"A merciless massacre" - Power Metal praised Festival of Death.

The Middle Ages might’ve brought the world out of The Dark Ages. But for every compass or printing press, those enlightened thinkers were also responsible for inventing the most torturous devices in human history. None were more brutal than the brodequin. Not only did the French use this instrument to cripple their victims, but to squeeze their legs to the point where bone marrow would spill out of their wounds.

You could say the same about Brodequin. The band come with their own long and sordid history. Brothers Jamie and Mike Bailey have been playing brutal death metal since 1998. Putting his history degree to good use, Jamie’s lyrics are inspired by real historical events, staying true to death metal’s core thematic pillars of dismemberment, torture, abuse and murder. But their artwork broke from genre’s generic splatter illustrations by digging into intricate period woodcuts and beautifully grotesque oil paintings.

“There simply was no point in history that was more brutal than the medieval period,” says Jamie. “At the same time that such barbarity was deployed, there was also an explosion in fine art, architecture and music. It all comes to feed our identity as a band”.

Brodequin’s first album catapulted them far beyond their kingdom of Knoxville. “This band has stuck out in the underground with relentless, barbaric intensity”, says Dying Fetus’ vocalist and guitarist John Gallagher, who named Instruments of Torture one of the most brutal death metal albums ever. Festival of Death put another flesh-tearing arrow in their quiver (“Some of the fastest, most brutalizing death metal ever recorded” - Sputnik Music). But after sieging festival stages across Europe with Methods of Execution, the band had to be put on ice.

“We had a series of deaths in our family”, Jamie explains. “Mike and I knew we had to step away until we had the time and were at a place mentally to give Brodequin the attention it deserved.”

Now, after 20 years of peaceful silence, Brodequin have returned with fresh instruments of torture. The Brothers Bailey are back with a new drummer, a new label and their long-awaited fourth album.

“Brodequin had been away for so long that I was stunned by the level of interest from fans and record labels”, Jamie says. "Before playing Hellfest, the band was approached backstage by a metalhead rocking a Brodequin t-shirt who happened to work for Season of Mist. Soon enough, they were hitting it off with Michael Berberian. The rest, as they say, is history.

“We all hung out for hours”, recalls Jamie. “The extraordinary level of enthusiasm shown toward our music made Season of Mist the obvious choice”.

As has been the case with this band for their entire career, Harbinger of Woe lives up to its name. Lead single “Of Pillars and Trees” is classic Brodequin. Mike’s distorted guitar chords churn like limbs through a meat grinder. The way Brennan Shackelford pings, blasts and flays his snare through “Suffocation in Ash” with the all encompassing speed of a sandstorm. Jamie’s growls are so phlegmy, so rotted, that to drag them out from whatever dark bowel movement spawned them would make an executioner sick to their stomach. And yet — somewhere deep inside all that carnage hides a terrifying beauty. The title track leaves you deaf, dumb and blind, begging on your knees in the face of a punishing, almighty riff.

“This album is a journey into this lost period of history where brutality and beauty coexist. Beauty, in the arts the were created, but also the beautiful brutality that was needed to engineer deadly devices like the brodequin”.

With Harbinger of Woe, Brodequin reclaim their throne as the most brutal band in all of death metal.

on February 23 via longtime record label partners Century Media Records.

below.

The video was created by Marius Martinsen, Kenneth Williams and Lars A. Nedland via the production company High & Low.

The video was created by Marius Martinsen, Kenneth Williams and Lars A. Nedland via the production company High & Low.

"So many gods. So many beliefs. So much conflict," the band says about the track. "'Nordic Anthem' is about rejecting any kind of doctrine, religious or political. It's about going to your own nature, your inner core, and finding strength and freedom. Our perspective is a northern one — we're from the north, after all — but this is a firm stance that is universally applicable. It's about finding and trusting your own values, your own heritage, and standing up against gods and authorities trying to push doctrine to control you, or corrupt you. This is our collective anthem. We won't bend our knee to any god!"

Fall includes eight majestic tracks across 54 epic minutes of playing time, once again brilliantly mixed by Jens Bogren of Fascination Street Studios (Opeth, Amon Amarth, Kreator), and featuring stunning album cover artwork by Eliran Kantor (Testament, My Dying Bride, Sodom), which can be seen above.

BORKNAGAR founder and mastermind Øystein G. Brun says, "We are extremely proud to present you all with our 12th album entitled Fall, another chapter of our musical journey. In many ways Fall represents a continuation of True North, but as always, we are pushing further and afar to seek even broader and more challenging horizons. Musically, we are loyal to our musical legacy, but we have most certainly walked through fire and ice to reach our highest peak yet. Although Fall represents a wide array of musical and lyrical ideas, the fundamental theme behind the album is based on the fascination and appreciation of the very outskirts of life. Those places, and those beings, in the vast periphery of our own existence that very few live to see or even learn to know about — but still are profoundly essential for our existence. With Fall we seek to portray and cherish all that holds up and pushes boundaries — against the great fall."

Fall is the follow up to 2019's widely acclaimed True North studio album and will be available as limited first-pressing Digipak CD, Gatefold 2-LP on 180gr vinyl and as a Digital Album.

The vinyl edition of Fall will be available in the following variants:
*Gatefold black 2LP

*Ltd. Gatefold neon orange 2LP (300x copies, available from cmdistro.de + various other retailers) (SODL OUT)

*Ltd. Gatefold transp. bottle green 2LP (300x copies, available from EMP + Nuclear Blast)

Fall into BORKNAGAR, share the grand struggle against the wild in all of us...

CABAL - drop Plaguebringer (INHUMAN Rework)

Danish deathcore mob CABAL start off 2024 strong. After kicking off their ‘The Great Decay European Tour’ a few days ago, the band from Copenhagen have dropped 'Plague Bringer (INHUMAN Rework)' today. Taken from the band's last album, the highly lauded Magno Interitus, German producer INHUMAN has reshaped this crushing cut and added his own distinctive touch to 'Plague Bringer'. Listen to the song here:
https://cabal.bfan.link/plague-bringer-RW

SingerAndreas Bjulver states:
"If there is something we’ve always loved in CABAL, it’s collaboration and experimentation, so we decided to embrace both of those two things with this rework of Plague Bringer by dark electronic wizard Inhuman. We are super excited that Inhuman managed to create a fresh and new take on our sound, and that we now get to share it with you all."

INHUMAN adds:
"Excited to announce my collaboration with Nuclear Blast and Cabal on the remix of their hit single, 'Plague Bringer.' This rendition is my most metal-inspired take, merging the potent force of electronic production with Cabal's relentless instrumentation and vocals.

Brace yourself for an intense sonic blend, where metal meets electronica, inviting you to dive deep into the auditive plague. Get ready for an electrifying experience that hits hard and doesn't hold back."

'Plague Bringer (INHUMAN Rework)' was taken from the band's latest album Magno Interitus that was released on October 21st via Nuclear Blast. The album is available as Digipack [limited edition], Black Single LP, Crystal Clear with Gold + Black Splatter Single LP [limited to 500 units, Mailorder + Wholesale exclusive], Crystal Clear with Red + Black Splatter Single LP [limited to 500 units, USA exclusive], Gold + Black Marble Single LP [limited to 300 units, bandshop exclusives] and on all streaming platforms.

CABAL is one of the most brutal and promising heavy acts hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark. The band aims to create a visceral and doom-laden atmosphere throughout both their music and visual expression. The production is crystal clear, whilst the songwriting draws inspiration from everything from black and death metal to djent and hardcore.

Since the release of their debut album "Mark of Rot" in 2018, the young band has managed to make a name for themselves in both Denmark and the rest of the world by playing renowned festivals like Copenhell, Roskilde Festival, Euroblast Festival and Complexity Fest as well as touring in Europe, Japan and North America.
CABALreleased the sophomore album"Drag Me Down" in April 2020 - a dark descent into a personal hell brought to life by crushing instrumentals, an oppressive atmosphere and dark personal lyrics delivered with relentless intensity, while still leaving room for experimentation and expansion ofCABAL’s signature sound. Add to this guest appearances from metal titansTRIVIUM's Matt Heafy, rising metalcore starsPOLARIS’ Jamie Hails and Denmark’s Blackgaze darlingsMØL’s Kim Song Sternkopf and there is no doubt thatCABALis a band with friends in every corner of the metal scene.

AboutMagno Interitus

In the early winter of 2022, CABAL marked a new era with the release of Magno Interitus. Singer Andreas Bjulver Paarup says: “The main theme on the album is the great decay happening all around us. It seems that everything just falls apart in these days. This applies to politics, society in general as well as some personal things. We tried to translate the feelings that we have about the state of the world into music.”

CABAL are not only charting new territory with their visceral and doom-laden sound but are also moving out of the comforts of their dark, black and white signature aesthetic into bright colours inspired from Ari Asters latest masterpiece, ‘Midsommar’. Flowers, vines and eerie cultist May Queens are amongst the new visual elements that define the aesthetic of Magno Interitus.

Andreas, who is the art director and lyricist in the band, is excited about the new direction of the album: “We have a kind of base sound, our safe home. From there, we can experiment and try something new. On Magno Interitus we really left our comfort zone and went deeper into the details and extremes than ever before. You can hear it on the title track, as well as on the opener “If I Hang, Let Me Swing” or on “Exsanguination”. These are my personal three favourites on the album at the moment.”

Once more, CABAL brought in some extraordinary features on the album such as Joe ‘Bad’ Badolato of Fit For An Autopsy on Magno Interitus, as well as Simon Olsen from the Danish band BÆST on the track “Insidious”. This time around, CABAL also experimented with a completely different format by inviting the dark, industrial duo ‘John Cxnnor’ to co-create the very unique track “Blod af Mit”.

“It’s been quite a journey for Exhorder since the 2019 release of ‘Mourn the Southern Skies’. Lineup changes as well as the 2020-2021 pandemic and lockdown presented hurdles that weren’t easy to overcome. But we persevered, kept our heads down and went to work with intense focus and real goals. One of those goals was to bring our fourth full length album to our fan base. ‘Defectum Omnium’ is a collaborative effort in songwriting, much as it was in the early days of Exhorder. We produced it ourselves, as we felt no need or desire to bring in anyone from the outside based upon our shared vision. It was also important to us not only to continue the natural progression this band has been in since the early 90’s, but to put a foot back into our roots. The influence punk and hardcore had on this band from getting our start in the New Orleans punk rock scene has a strong presence. We’ve also made sure to keep plenty of our thrash roots as well in our songwriting process.

But we have also managed to keep our doom roots alive, which first surfaced on the song ‘(Cadence of) the Dirge’ back in 1992. In fact, on one new song we have guest appearances by Rick Wartell and Bruce Franklin from Trouble, and they absolutely killed it!

From the time that we began pre-production until the actual release date, we can promise you that every bit of ‘Defectum Omnium’ was crafted with great care, and we are really excited about it! Our goal was to make an album that WE loved and gives the experience of a journey, or maybe even a rollercoaster ride effect. We can’t wait to share it with the world!”

Without further ado, EXHORDER kicks in the door of 2024 with a savage new track, ‘Year of the Goat,’ that sets the neck-snapping pace for the record to come. Watch the music video directed by Brian “Bone” Thorburn and produced by Threshold Studios at the link below.

Adding on the new song, Thomas says:

“Our debut single ‘Year of the Goat’ is a fast paced, chugging piece in the spirit of the influence that Motörhead had on punk rock bands like Charged GBH and The Exploited. The lyrical approach is a throwback to early Exhorder attitude, and we had a ton of fun filming the video at a free show that we performed in the greater Cincinnati area. 2024 is the year of the goat!!!”

About EXHORDER:

Formed in 1986, EXHORDER’s journey has proven exciting, yet tumultuous. After a twenty-seven-year absence following their final Roadrunner Records release in 1992, EXHORDER re-entered the game with an album considered by many to be a contender for the "Best Comeback Album" category. The band released Mourn the Southern Skies in October of 2019 through Nuclear Blast Records. Fraught with euphoric peaks and crippling valleys throughout its existence, lineup changes, and the 2020-2021 pandemic, EXHORDER has since clawed back through the muck to prepare yet another album to add to the discography. In the spring of 2024, EXHORDER presents yet again via Nuclear Blast their fourth full-length recording, Defectum Omnium,  the Latin phrase for "The Failure of All". Singer Kyle Thomas wryly explains that the album title is representative of the current state of affairs that the world is in. "The world is a dumpster fire, and we are all complicit.", he explains. "People have been talking about, ‘...viruses killing us off, blah-blah, blah...', when in actuality WE are the virus to the Earth. Mother Nature is simply trying to shake off the fleas, and her ‘viruses’ are the antibodies combating US. Earth will survive, and we will join the dinosaurs, wooly mammoths, and saber-toothed tigers soon enough in her history."

Produced by EXHORDER and mixed by Jens Bogren, Defectum Omnium puts a foot back into the roots of the band's inception. The scales have tipped favorably towards the presence of punk and thrash more so than on Mourn the Southern Skies. Tracks like ‘Wrath of Prophecies’, ‘Forever and Beyond Despair’, and ‘Sedition’ are what EXHORDER comes by most honestly when referring to their beginnings. There is also a strong presence of doom influence, as always. ‘The Tale of Unsound Minds’ and the haunting ‘Defectum Omnium/Stolen Hope’ will raise utter despair from the depths of your soul. The thick New Orleans grooves EXHORDER has been known for beating out since day one are still undeniable, and they stand out in tracks like ‘Year of the Goat’, ‘Under the Gaslight’, and ‘Three Stages of Truth/Lacing the Well’.

One trait about Defectum Omnium that deserves to be pointed out is that it is more of a journey and experience than just a regurgitated selection of songs on autopilot. With peaks and valleys much like a roller coaster ride, one listener described the album as having "...a little something for everyone.". As EXHORDER has always been hard to classify by one genre, the album is loaded with heaviness, aggression, speed, and venom. It also has an equal presence of mystery, melody, and harmony, and vacillates between darkness and light. Themes that dart back and forth between surviving oppression, despair, revolution, and brittle hope take you through the band's madness by way of the musical path that they have forged. With touring plans underway in support of Defectum Omnium, EXHORDER finds itself poised to finally achieve the brass ring potential that has always seemed to be just out of their reach.

"Also, we're stoked to announce that we've put together a new live album from our 20 Year Anniversary Tour," ABR shares. "Every night on tour, we recorded the audio for each set. Then, we picked our favorite songs from different cities all over North America and put together the album. It was the perfect way for us to wrap up our 20-year anniversary, and be able to relive those shows forever."

ABOUT AUGUST BURNS RED:
August Burns Red is likely the only metal act ever described as "thrillingly empathetic" (Kerrang!). It's a testament to the ferocious band's ability to recognize and connect with the mixture of brokenness and hope found in their audience and within themselves. A hard-working collective with a shockingly stable lineup for the vast majority of their career, August Burns Red pour every ounce of themselves into their music. Atmospheric, riff-laden, aggressive bursts of controlled chaos, filled with shifting time signatures and tempos, deliver confessional, self-reflective, and authentic emotion.

Tour stops with Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Parkway Drive, and Bring Me the Horizon; several major international hard rock festivals (Rock Am Ring, Download, and Aftershock, to name a few); and the Vans Warped Tour are among the destinations around the world to witness ABR's live prowess. Massive headlining treks celebrating 10-year anniversaries for Constellations and Leveler demonstrated the enduring relevance of the band’s catalog, nearly 20 years into ABR's storied career. 2020's Guardians debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hard Music, Rock Albums, and Vinyl Albums charts.

Revolver, who put the band on their cover the same year, observed August Burns Red "embrace the pain so well." It's a truth never more evident than on Death Below, their stunning ninth studio album. Recorded with longtime producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland, Death Below encompasses all of the pissed-off strength of the band's past without sacrificing an ounce of catchy, melodic might. Death Below boasts guest appearances from ABR allies Jesse Leach (Killswitch Engage), Spencer Chamberlain (Underoath), Jason Richardson (All That Remains), and JT Cavey (ERRA). "It's getting difficult for the members of August Burns Red to keep one-upping themselves," marveled Billboard shortly before Guardians arrived. With Death Below, they emerge victorious again.

BEING AS AN OCEAN Release New Single "The Fullness Of My Being"

Melodic post-hardcore trailblazers Being As An Ocean have released new single, "The Fullness of My Being" today. Listen to the new track HERE. The new track is the fourth single to be released off the band's highly anticipated new album, 'Death Can Wait' (out February 2nd, 2024 via Out Of Line Records), pre-orders for which are available HERE.

Providing further context for "The Fullness of My Being ", the band shares

"The Fullness Of My Being is a personal reflection on what making music, being a performer, a writer, and an artist has meant to me and the place I, Joel, have allowed it to take in my life; what I have let it mean to me in the past. It was everything. I had let it become what defined me, what drove my decision making, my lifestyle, my whole personality. That sustained me for a time. But what I hadn’t realized I was doing was neglecting huge parts of myself and my personal development because I was so hyper focused on that one aspect of my life. Parts of me that I had failed to foster were withering. Placing too much significance on one part of you can be immensely painful, detrimental, and even dangerous, especially when it is taken away from you.

That is exactly what the pandemic did to me. It took away the music industry, at least for a time. But in that time, there was little to no hope in sight for that person that I had built myself up to be. I felt lost, unmoored, and directionless. I sank into a deep depression. It was through pulling myself back into all of the parts of me that I had been neglecting that taught me and showed me the whole of my being and personality. It gave me space to rediscover, explore, and expand my identity to be more of the man that I had hoped myself to be. These hard times have helped me realize and being to actualize the fullness of my being."

Following previously released singles "Death Can Wait", "Swallowed By The Earth" and "Flesh And Bone" as well as a successful headlining tour with Of Virtue and SENNA, "The Fullness of My Being" emerges as the fourth prelude to Being As An Ocean's highly anticipated album, 'Death Can Wait' set for release on February 2nd, 2024 through Out Of Line Music. Another extremely personal set of songs loaded with pure emotion continuing the band's legacy of crafting deep, introspective music that speaks to the soul.

Pre-orders for ‘Death Can Wait’ are available now in multiple formats and multiple bundle options including digipak CD, vinyl, and a deluxe wooden box set strictly limited to 666 copies worldwide. Head to baao.lnk.to/DeathCanWaitAlbum to check out all options and pre-order now.

Being As An Ocean continue to inspire listeners to find strength through adversity. Stay tuned for much more from these inspirational melodic hardcore torchbearers soon.

KMFDM presents title track from new 'Let Go' album, out via Metropolis Records on February 2

Rising up lean and mean, KMFDM is doin’ it again, celebrating 40 years of conceptual continuity in grand style! 'LET GO' marks the group’s 23rd studio album, the core lineup of Sascha “Käpt’n K” Konietzko, Lucia Cifarelli, Andy Selwayand Andee Blacksugar presenting their signature onslaught of pulse-pounding rhythms, scorching electronics, blistering guitars, and vocals full of grit, growl, and grind addressing the social, political, and cultural ills of a world in perpetual turmoil.

The first taste of their new record is the title track
'LET GO', the first of the 11 tracks on the album.

Stylistically diverse as ever, KMFDM continues to bridge the gaps between genres, coalescing into what we know and love as the Ultra Heavy Beat! “Never let them know your next move,” says Käpt’N K, laying down the band’s primary philosophy on this record, commanding you to let go of precept and pretense, to hold on tight, leave your worries behind, and get ready to rock!

From the driving techno, dance, and funk infused thrust of 'LET GO' to the airily melodic and swirling vibes of 'AIRHEAD' and 'TOUCH', the grooving revolutionary oratory and percolating spaghetti western guitar and glitch-laden synth leads of 'TURN THE LIGHT ON' to the sneering and seething riot grrl fury of 'WHEN THE BELL TOLLS', the sinister hip-hop injected 'NEXT MOVE', the downright cinematic and Teutonic electro of 'ERLKÖNIG', and the virulent dub warcry of 'WW 2023' – KMFDM continues to break down barriers and immerse audiences in a bold new reality.

Konietzko and Cifarelli prove as vicious a team as ever, equally sharing vocal and lyrical duties, with longtime associate MC Ocelot appearing to give 'NEXT MOVE'an extra touch of raucous rap energy. All the while, Blacksugar’s prowess on six-strings continues to awe and astound, backed by Selway’s dynamic drumming, meshing with Konietzko’s masterful programming.

Mixed and mastered by Benjamin Lawrenz (VNV Nation, Deep Purple, Saga, Mono Inc., Lord of the Lost), at
Chameleon Recording Studios in Hamburg, 'LET GO' signals KMFDM’s 40th anniversary loudly and proudly, with Aidan “BRUTE” Hughes’ distinctive cover artwork mirroring the album’s breakneck power. After four decades, the Ultra Heavy Beat simply refuses to rest in pity and regret, raising a sharpened middle finger at a world in chaos.

As of January 12, the 'LET GO' single will be available from
fine music platforms, including SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp. On February 2, the full 'Let Go' album will be released digitally, on CD and as a Limited Edition Vinyl double LP. Following this, they embark on a month-long US tour, for which tickets are already available for pre-order.

About KMFDM:

KMFDM (originally Kein Mehrheit Für Die Mitleid, loosely translated by the band as "no pity for the majority”) is a multinational industrial band from Hamburg, Germany, led by Sascha Konietzko, who founded the band in 1984 as a performance art project in Paris, France.

Their early albums were recorded in Germany before moving to the USA, where they found much greater success with Chicago-based seminal record label Wax Trax! Throughout the 90’s, KMFDM constantly evolved with a revolving door line-up, becoming a household name in the US music scene. Their 1995 hit 'Juke Joint Jezebel' catapulted KMFDM into the Billboard charts and got them onto many movie soundtracks, notably 'Bad Boys' and 'Mortal Kombat'. Bands like Rammstein and Korn had their humble beginnings opening on KMFDM tours. The band took a brief hiatus in 1999 after recording their 10hh album for Wax Trax Records.

Konietzko resurrected KMFDM in 2002 on Metropolis Records with a line-up featuring, among others, American singer Lucia Cifarelli (from the band
DRILL) and Tim Skold (who later joined Marilyn Manson). Releasing studio albums and touring frequently throughout the 2000’s, Konietzko and Cifarelli returned to Germany in 2008. Over their 22 studio albums and countless singles, dozens of musicians have worked with KMFDM, with sales now in excess of two million records worldwide.

One of the first bands to bring industrial music to a mainstream audience, Konietzko refers to KMFDM's music as "The Ultra-Heavy Beat". Meshing heavy metal guitar riffs, electronic music, and both male and female vocals, their music encompasses various styles, including industrial rock, electronic body music, and even reggae and dub. Fiercely political, many of the band's lyrics take a stand against violence, war and oppression. KMFDM tour after every major release, its band members known to be accessible to and interact with fans, both online and at concerts.

AMARANTHE - 🚀Release New Single 'Re-Vision' From Upcoming Album The Catalyst

Two weeks into the new year, AMARANTHE, one of Sweden's most influential modern metal bands, kicks off 2024 with the crushing pop metal song 'Re-Vision.' With its electronic pulse, powerful riffs, and irresistibly lethal hooks in the chorus, the song demonstrates why AMARANTHE are one of the most unique acts in modern metal.

AMARANTHE's Olof Mörck states:
“It is time for the fourth single from The Catalyst, ‘Re-Vision’, and this time we went all in. Ponderous cyberpunk and synth wave rhythms clash with AMARANTHE’s signature sound in an equally thrilling and memorable blend, sure to act as a permanent cybernetic implant into your brain. The prodigious video, once again actualized by long-time collaborator Patric Ullaeus, serves as the perfect counterpoint to ‘Re-Vision’, more ambitious and explosive than any AMARANTHE video to date! As predictions from the 80’s Artificial Intelligence seem to become truer every day, we are ready to serve you a cataclysmic yet captivating foresight into the future of AMARANTHE: Re-Visioned."

'Re-Vision' is the fourth single from AMARANTHE's forthcoming album The Catalyst, that will see the light of the day on February 23rd, 2024, via Nuclear Blast Records. The album will be available digitally and in different physical formats including CD, Vinyl, a 2CD Special Edition, and a band-exclusive Vinyl that will come with a signed poster. Presave or preorder your format of choice here:
https://amaranthe.bfan.link/the-catalyst.a01

'Re-Vision'
comes with a fantastic new video that the band released today. Watch it below.

The Catalyst is the most conceptually coherent piece of work in AMARANTHE's storied history. Dedicated to notions of transformation and revelation, it delves deeper than any previous album, as Olof Mörck explains.

"We’ve done these things before, but we’ve never been as theatrical as we have this time," Mörck grins. "In fact, we all questioned whether we went too far this time, but I also figured that this band was always this way. Literally, the first seconds of our first video was a big explosion! But yes, The Catalyst is more theatrical than ever. We’ve never really been symphonic or orchestral before, but this time we just thought why not? Because we can! The key to this album is that we let go of the boundaries and decided to do something even more adventurous."

The Catalyst represents the culmination of 15 years of hard work and the breathless pursuit of a wholly original musical vision. Change is inevitable. Victory is assured.

Formed in 2008, AMARANTHE walked their own unique path from the start. With a sound that combined the sharpest, cutting edges of melodic metal, electronic rock, and razor-sharp pop, their impact was immediate and undeniable. Kicking off with their self-titled debut in 2011, the Swedes blazed a trail through the European metal scene and beyond, swiftly establishing themselves as a dazzling one-off, not least due to the unprecedented triple vocal attack that paired clean tones with exquisite melodic sensibilities and feral growls. Over the next few years, the sextet steadily grew in stature, releasing a series of praised studio records that jabbed persistently at the boundaries of modern metal.

AMARANTHE is:
Elize Ryd | vocals
Mikael Sehlin I growls
Nils Molin | vocals
Olof Mörck | guitars, keyboards
Johan Andreassen | bass
Morten Løwe Sørensen | drums

Enterprise Earth "Casket of Rust" music video out now!

Enterprise Earth has released their latest offering "Casket of Rust" today, taken from their eagerly anticipated upcoming album 'Death: An Anthology' out on February 2, 2024.

When asked about the inspiration behind the track, vocalist Travis Worland commented:

“Lyrically, it touches on the death of yourself in a relationship. You’re killing off anything you had in order to appease another person and destroying pieces of yourself. You built this casket for so long that it has time to decay and rust before you bury yourself in it.”

Brighton artist NICK HUDSON presents 'For My Silence', a statement of clarity after the storm - first taste of his new album

“Beautifully written, recorded, produced and arranged... all complimented by vocal that lives up to the same standard. No cheating, no fronting, just honest crafted musicality”  ~ Billy Gould (Faith No More)

"Kanda Teenage Honey is shockingly emotional, thoughtfully orchestrated and wonderfully curious lyrically. It is a record for true music lovers" ~ Jamie Stewart (Xiu Xiu)

"There isn’t really anyone making music like Nick Hudson“ ~ The Quietus

“Nick Hudson is a unique talent. His song writing and performances are breathtaking.  He is long overdue being heard by a wider audience. This solo album is a peak in an already stellar career” ~ Stuart Braithwaite (Mogwai)

"Scott Walker channeling Coil” ~ MOJO Magazine

"Genius” - BBC Radio (BBC Introducing)

British avant pop artist  Nick Hudson presents his new single 'For My Silence',  the first offering from his forthcoming album 'Kanda Teenage Honey', recorded largely in Georgia under the shadow of the Ukraine war, featuring some incredible Georgian musicians in a huge former Soviet movie studio.

Mixed by Toby Driver and mastered to analogue tape by
Paul Pascoe at Church Road Studios in Hove, this album was recorded and engineered by Ilya Lukashev at Leno Studio and Sano Studio in Tbilisi.

"This is a song about apologizing to those you love for the period in which you disappeared to make bad life choices, while also singling out those who stood by and did nothing in the name of friendship during this period. The period in question was the third lockdown, where I literally had a glimpse of hell courtesy of a significant mental health collapse," says Nick Hudson.

"This is a reflective song, both confessional and confrontational.  The piano for the record was tracked on a 1953 Steinway grand in Leno Studio in Tbilisi – a former Soviet movie studio whose live room is vast enough to record orchestras."

This is Hudson's first release since the
'Lights Svoboda' single, released in 2022 support of Ukraine, for which all proceeds were contributed to charities directly involved in humanitarian aid efforts.

Hudson adds, "The video stars my friend Nika – a 17-year-old Georgian aspiring actor, and whom I've found myself mentoring in cinema.  It was shot in a Stalin-era secular graveyard on the mountains outside of Tbilisi and incorporates footage of the actual vocal sessions in the studio, captured by Vlad Gutsin, a 20-year-old refugee from Tomsk. Gigi Koberidze and Beqa Minadze, on drums and guitar respectively, are two of the finest musicians I've had the privilege to work with."

A prolific figure on the UK music scene, Hudson's latest album
'Font Of Human Fractures' was released in 2021, followed by the 'K69996ROMA:EP' later that year. These were Hudson's first solo works in 5 years, only one year had passed since 'The Quiet Earth', the opus album from his band The Academy Of Sun.

Nick's vast output also encompasses painting, film, and a novel. Hudson has also collaborated with
Wayne Hussey (The Mission), Matthew Seligman (Bowie, Tori Amos, Morrissey), members of Kayo Dot, David Tibet (Current 93), Asva, queercore icon GB Jones, as well as Massive Attack's Shara Nelson. Having toured 3 continents, highlights include shows with Mogwai, Toby Driver and Keith Abrams (Kayo Dot), and Timba Harris (Mr Bungle, Amanda Palmer).

Hudson has also just released his book
'The Land Exists So The Seas Don't Argue'. Limited to 50 numbered and signed copies, this is the first volume featuring his lyrical output across the last decade, encompassing five albums plus ephemera created at the same time as the main works – satellite poems that inhabit the same world as each of the primary cosmologies. This collection is possessed of a searing intensity and unity of vision - paganism, queer love, grief, death, ecstasy, radical politics, social satire, hymns to nature and her rhythms and forces. The book also features a foreword by renowned Scottish author and artist Chris Kelso.

As of January 11, the single 'For My Silence' will be available on
Bandcamp, followed by other platforms, such as Spotify and Apple Music, soon afterwards. The full album 'Kanda Teenage Honey' will be released on March 15.

STEVE HACKETT LAUNCHES 'WHEREVER YOU ARE' SECOND TRACK TAKEN FROM 'THE CIRCUS AND THE NIGHTWALE'

Legendary rock guitarist Steve Hackett is set to release his new studio album ‘The Circus And The Nightwhale’ on 16th February 2024, via InsideOut Music. A rite-of-passage concept album with a young character called Travla at the centre of it, ‘The Circus And The Nightwhale’s’ 13 tracks have an autobiographical angle for the musician who says about his 30th solo release: “I love this album. It says the things I’ve been wanting to say for a very long time.”

Today a brand new track is revealed, titled ‘Wherever You Are’, and you can watch the video now here:
https://youtu.be/6LwYc8_orY8

Of the track, Steve comments: “’Wherever You Are’ is a song of love winning through, shattering the chains of the physical world… Light obliterating darkness. A new universe has opened up with the hope that such a strong love could even survive death. The dreams of childhood realised, there is a sense of everything coming around full circle… Even the three part harmony guitar at the end of Genesis’ The Musical Box is revisited in spirit with the joy of celebration during this song.”

The albums opening track ‘People of the Smoke’ was released in December. Watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_iujNWzPL0

The new album is available to pre-order on several different formats, including a Limited CD+Blu-ray mediabook (including 5.1 Surround Sound & 24bit high resolution stereo mixes), Standard CD Jewelcase, Gatefold 180g Vinyl LP & as Digital Album. All feature the stunning cover painting by Denise Marsh. Pre-order now here:

‘The Circus And The Nightwhale’ is Steve’s first new music in over two years. Recorded between tours in 2022 and 2023 at Siren studio in the UK – with guest parts beamed in from Sweden, Austria, the US, Azerbaijan and Denmark, the line-up for ‘The Circus And The Nightwhale’ includes some familiar faces alongside Steve on electric and acoustic guitars, 12-string, mandolin, harmonica, percussion, bass and vocals. Roger King (keyboards, programming and orchestral arrangements), Rob Townsend (sax), Jonas Reingold (bass), Nad Sylvan (vocals), Craig Blundell (drums) and Amanda Lehmann on vocals. Nick D’Virgilio and Hugo Degenhardt return as guests on the drumstool, engineer extraordinaire Benedict Fenner appears on keyboards and Malik Mansurov is back with the tar. Finally, Steve’s brother John Hackett is present once more on flute.

Summing up ‘The Circus And The Nightwhale’, Steve says: “It’s a lovely journey that starts dirty, scratchy and smoky and becomes heavenly and divine. How can you resist it?”

Steve Hackett & band will tour the world extensively in 2024, including a brand new UK tour ‘Genesis Greats, Lamb Highlights & Solo,' which will see him return to the legendary Royal Albert Hall. He will also return to North America early this year, with European shows booked in for the Summer.
