Levi Hummon & Walker Hayes Team Up On "Paying For It," Out This Friday

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Levi Hummon will release a new studio version of his fan-favorite song “Paying For It” on Friday. Walker Hayes, an award-winning, multi-platinum artist, joins him on the track. Hummon has been performing the song, which he co-wrote with Hayes and Eric Arjes, while on tour, and it has become a crowd favorite and viral hit. Hummon and Hayes released a demo of the tune in 2021 which has now garnered more than 23 million global on-demand streams. Pre-save the song here.

The singers, along with producer Eric Arjes, recently recorded a studio version of the song that will be released Friday as Hummon's debut song for Red Van Records. The tune will be released digitally through TikTik’s SoundOn global distribution platform.

‘“Paying For It’ is a song that I have believed in since the day we wrote it,” said Hummon. “To not only have penned the song with Walker, but to have him featured on the song is a blessing. I’m grateful this brand-new studio recording being the first official release under Red Van Records. We got to step into the legendary Black Bird Studio with some of the best musicians in Nashville, and I’m blown away by how good this version sounds! I think there’s a good chance it might blow out some people’s speakers. Can’t wait to bring it to the fans out on the road very soon.”

With more than 175 million global streams, Hummon is a genre-bending artist and songwriter who continues to grow his audience on tour, through his social platforms, playlisting and craft-songwriting. A Nashville native, Hummon has written songs for Steven Tyler, Tim McGraw and many more, including his recent global No. 1, “Somebody,” recorded by K-Pop superstar D.O. from the group EXO. Along with those, his own catalog, including the multi-million streamed “Good Riddance,” “Stupid” and “Paying For It” featuring Walker Hayes, have earned Hummon wide-spread acclaim.

Under the Jonas Group Entertainment umbrella, Red Van Records recently announced its launch with Hummon as the inaugural artist signing. “With the values and ideals that are the foundation of Red Van Records, Levi is the perfect artist to launch our label,” said Phil Guerini, CEO of Jonas Group Entertainment/ Red Van Records. “He is so well respected in the music community as a complete artist, and he has been tireless in his pursuit of music and taking it to the fans on the road.”

Walker Hayes Releases Two-Pack: "being a dad and missing mine"

Over the last few years, Monument Records recording artist Walker Hayes has experienced just about the highest high an artist can dream of. After grinding for nearly 20 years in Nashville, he struck gold with his smash hit “Fancy Like.” For months, the fun-filled tune could be heard in every bar, restaurant, sports game or tailgate, all while hundreds of thousands of people danced to it on TikTok. The song garnered Hayes a GRAMMY Nomination, among many other accolades, and led to a sold out, headlining arena tour.

While that success could be seen as the “American Dream,” Hayes knows better than to trust the fame and fortune. In the same set of years that he saw his music dreams come true, he went through one of the toughest losses of his life – the passing of his father. As a dad to six himself, with his seventh child Oakleigh in heaven, the loss hit Hayes square in the chest. Now, the singer/songwriter is delivering a project that highlights the loss his family has experienced while doing what he does best – looking inward. On the track “6 string american dream” Hayes sings:

Yeah I’m a little bit higher up on that Nashville ladder
but money didn’t fix anything that really matters
my haters still say I can’t sing
        my marriage still needs counseling
my sons don’t know how not to fight
my daughter’s shorts are too short & too tight
        if I’m drinking honestly
        still can’t drink responsibly
        I’m a 6 string American dream
but I still wake up sad
        I still need Jesus
and I still miss my dad

The other track, titled “if father time had a daughter,” is equally as introspective and finds Hayes begging Father Time to have mercy on the fathers who have to watch their little girls grow up so fast, singing “time would stand still a little longer / if Father Time had a daughter.”

"Been waiting to get these two songs out for a long time,” says Hayes. “As I look at the body of work and the songs I’m sitting on, I think about what I want to say – and this is what I want to say to the world right now. These songs wreck me in different ways and it’s my hope that everyone that listens will leave feeling real feelings."

being a dad and missing mine is out now on Monument Records, and is a prime example of why Billboard praised his music as “personal, soul-bearing storylines; rolling rhymes; and Macklemore-like cadence.”

On the heels of wrapping his first headlining arena tour in November, the GRAMMY Nominated Walker Hayes announces his new headlining Duck Buck Tour for 2023. The 22-show trek will feature direct support from 4x GRAMMY nominee singer-songwriter Ingrid Andress, with platinum-selling, Amazon Music Breakthrough Spotlight Artist BRELAND and hit songwriter and artist Ray Fulcher joining select dates. Country chart-topper Chris Lane and ACM award winning songwriter Nicolle Galyon will make a special appearance during a one-of-a-kind performance at Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre on May 5. The tour will kick off on April 13 in Rosemont, IL, with tickets on sale this Friday, Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. CT. Visit walkerhayes.com for more details.

“I can’t wait to get back out on tour,” says Hayes. “Headlining an arena tour for the first time this past year was a dream come true. The whole family was able to come out and the road has become our new home away from home. All the fans that have come out or will come out are making this dream a reality. I owe it all to them, and this next tour will be the biggest and best. I don’t take for granted that they spent their hard-earned money on my shows, and I plan to make it well worth it!”

The new tour gets its name from the chorus of the title track off Hayes’ most recent album, Country Stuff The Album, in which the Mobile, AL native celebrates the trademarks of life in the country. Relishing his love of “Country Stuff,” Hayes sings, “I like shooting ducks and bucks / I like mud tires on my trucks / I like old blue jeans, guitar strings and dirt roads.” Since the release of the track, the Duck Buck has become Hayes’ signature, showing up on his merch, across his socials, and in his music videos after fans latched onto the visual. Always listening to fan feedback, the Duck Buck is now the name of Hayes’ next arena tour.

Hayes’ 2023 tour will celebrate the power of songwriting, while championing female talent with Andress joining 20 dates and Galyon performing at the legendary Red Rocks tour stop, which will also feature superstar Lane. BRELAND and Fulcher will split dates throughout the tour, showcasing some of the best country music that the genre has to offer.

One of the top streaming artists in country music last year, Hayes single “Y’all Life” is steadily climbing the charts, currently sitting in the top 30 on country radio’s Mediabase chart. His most recent release, “Face In The Crowd ,” is an ode to his biggest fan who remains side stage during many of his tour dates, his wife Laney. The song is especially meaningful after a breakthrough year for Hayes and his family that saw the superstar earn a GRAMMY nomination, six Billboard Music Award nominations, five ACM Award nominations, a CMT Award nomination, a CMA nomination and his first No. 1 at Country radio. Listen to “Face In The Crowd” HERE.

ABOUT INGRID ANDRESS:
4x GRAMMY nominated singer-songwriter Ingrid Andress digs deeper than ever before to explore the dark and the light within us all on her highly anticipated sophomore album, Good Person , available everywhere now. All co-produced and co-written by Andress, the track listing includes her latest platinum-certified, No. 1 radio single “Wishful Drinking (with Sam Hunt),” which is also currently GRAMMY-nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. Having gone through two years that were transformational in every way and triumphing in the face of some unprecedented career-obstacles, Andress knew that the best way forward was a brave willingness to be even more truthful and real. Along the way, she also found that changes were happening in her personal life and that the songs were actually leading the way, revealing emotions she wasn’t fully aware of yet. She pushed for bold, experimental sounds that blended banjos with vocoders; swung from sweeping orchestration to spare, acoustic-based arrangements; and showcased previously unexplored parts of her vocal range.

Good Person returns to the reflection and confession at the core of her triumphant 2020 debut, Lady Like, and plumbs even deeper. Named “one of the year’s strongest albums” by Associated PressLady Like became one of Billboard’s Top 10 Best Country Albums of the year and set the record as the highest streaming country female debut album of all time upon release. In addition to the Gold-certified title track, Lady Like  also features her multi-platinum No. 1 radio single “More Hearts Than Mine,” which made history as the only debut single from a solo female artist to break the Top 20 on country radio in 2019. The album was up for Best Country Album at the 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards in addition to Andress’ nominations for Best Country Song and Best New Artist, making her the only country artist to be nominated in a “Big Four” category. Recently celebrating the impressive milestone of surpassing one billion total career streams, Andress spent the summer on tour with Keith Urban for his “The Speed of Now World Tour” and recently announced her own global headlining trek, The Good Person Tour, kicking off in February 2023.

ABOUT BRELAND:

Walker Hayes Releases Emotional New Track "Face In The Crowd"

“I was honored to be nominated for a CMA Award, but the acceptance speech I would’ve made dropped just now… it’s called Face in the Crowd” – Walker Hayes

Anyone who has listened to Walker Hayes’ music knows his wife Laney is his biggest muse. Whether he’s taking her out for a date night at Applebee’s in “Fancy Like,” trying to keep her from figuring out that he married up and she married down in “AA,” or thinking about how he can keep her happy even after he’s gone in “Don’t Let Her,” all he wants to do is make her happy.

That has never been more apparent than in his newest song, “Face In The Crowd.” He sings:

When my 15 minutes ends / and the world loves me a little less / I hope you know that you’re the only one / I was trying to impress / if I sold out Bryant-Denny / made my sweet home so proud / all I ever cared about, all I ever cared about was your face in the crowd”

Written by Hayes with Emily Falvey and Tofer Brown, and produced by Hayes with Joe Thibodeau, the second the song was finished, Hayes began playing it during his pre-show hang while out on his Glad You’re Here arena tour. Immediately, his fans began asking when they could get their hands on the track. Laney, a side stage staple at every Hayes show, is never one to seek the spotlight, but is beloved by fans after making appearances in countless TikTok videos to reluctantly dance beside Hayes.

The song is especially meaningful after a breakthrough year for Hayes and his family that saw the superstar earn a GRAMMY nomination, six Billboard Music Awards nominations, five ACM Awards nominations, a CMT Awards nomination, a CMA nomination and his first No. 1 at Country radio. With success coming nearly 20 years after he started making music in this town, Hayes knows that at the end of the day all that matters is Laney and his six kids.

“I can’t say how grateful I am for the last year of my life. It changed a lot for me and my family, but at the end of the day, money doesn’t fix anything,” says Hayes. “We’ve been doing this a long time, and we were happy when we were poor, too. We’re just lucky to have each other, and that’s really all that matters”

Last night’s 56th CMA Awards ceremony marked Hayes’ first-ever CMA nomination, where he was up for New Artist of the Year. Though he didn’t win, “Face In The Crowd” is his message to Nashville, his fans and his family. Says Hayes. “I was honored to be nominated for a CMA Award, but the acceptance speech I would’ve made dropped just now… it’s called ‘Face in the Crowd.’”

Listen to “Face In The Crowd” HERE

“Face in The Crowd” is the latest release from Hayes, complimenting current single, “Y’all Life,” which is climbing the chart at country radio. These tracks, plus smash hit “Fancy Like” and fan favorite “AA” have made Hayes one of the top streaming artists in country music.

Walker Hayes Teams Up With Pop Superstar Ciara on "Y'all Life," Out Now

Duo to Perform the Track for the First Time Tonight on
CMT’s Artist of the Year Celebration

Monument Records' singer/songwriter and country music sensation Walker Hayes enlists GRAMMY Award-winning singer/songwriter and superstar Ciara for a special version of his current single “Y’all Life.” The irresistible track adds a new layer of excitement as Ciara chimes in with a verse of her own. Stream “Y’all Life (feat. Ciara) Below.

“Y’all Life” is a quintessential song about the easy-going, loosened-up way of life in the south. Originally released in August, the track was Hayes’ highest streaming debut to date – no small feat for an artist that has accumulated over a billon career streams and had the No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for over six months last year.

After kicking off his headlining arena tour this fall, Hayes began playing “Y’all Life” to sold-out crowds across the country. A crowd favorite, he quickly realized how much fun it would be to add a second voice to the track, one who could offer another perspective on growing up in the south. Having met pop superstar Ciara last year while performing on Dick Clark’s New Years Rockin’ Eve, he knew he had to collaborate with her someday.

No stranger to pop and hip hop influences in his music, Hayes has always embraced other genres. It’s a style that Billboard praised as “personal soul-bearing storylines; rolling rhymes; and Macklemore-like cadence.” So it was a no brainer for him to ask the pop sensation if she would jump on the track.

“Ciara is not only one of the most talented artists in the business, she’s one of the nicest” says Hayes. “When I got the crazy idea that she may want to write a new verse for ‘Y’all Life’ I definitely said a few prayers that she would say yes. She adds the perfect perspective to the track…and some much-needed swag.”

Written by Hayes, with Pete Good and Josh Jenkins, as well as “Country Grammar” writers Cornell Haynes Jr. (Nelly) and Jason Epperson, and produced by Hayes with Joe Thibodeau and multi-GRAMMY Award winner Shane McAnally, “Y’all Life” officially adds Ciara to the writer credits.

The GRAMMY-Award winning singer/songwriter, originally from Texas, knows the importance of Football and Jesus in the south. On the track she sings “it ain’t nothin better than them Sunday night lights every night,” while adding her impeccable vocals to the chorus that sings “livin’ that y’all life, y’all’ rollin’ in the south where it’s all football and Jesus.”

“I’m a southern girl and have always felt a connection to country music,” says Ciara. “When I met Walker I immediately knew I wanted to work with him. Beyond his incredible song writing, he has an amazing stage presence.”

Tonight, Hayes is being honored by CMT as a “CMT Artist of the Year” alongside Kane Brown, Luke Combs, Cody Johnson and Carly Pearce. The iconic network celebrates five artists who have collectively dominated the past 12 months in country music with an awards show that will premiere on CMT at 9PM ET/8PM CT. Ciara and Hayes will open the show with a performance of “Y’all Life (feat. Ciara),” debuting the collaboration to a national audience.

Flo Rida and Walker Hayes Team Up On New Release “High Heels”

Flo Rida and Walker Hayes team up for irresistible new collaboration, “High Heels,” out today.

Listen to “High Heels” HERE.

No strangers to chart topping success, both artists know what it feels like to create a song that millions can relate to, dance to and sing along to. “High Heels” is no different, except it brings the genius of the award-winning singer/songwriters together for the first time for a musical event that is equal parts unexpected and undeniable.

When Flo Rida first heard “High Heels,” he knew he was diving into deep territory with the honest and revealing lyrics. In the first line of the track, he sings, “I take my whiskey neat to hide my mixed emotions, and they don’t have a clue” – a glimpse into the struggle a lot of artists go through when smiling through the often lonely and tumultuous career. Furthering that point, the struggle in the lyrics are coupled with a happy, up-tempo beat that is frustratingly catchy.

While recording the song, Flo Rida realized something was missing, and he tapped Hayes to add a verse with his own take on how he has handled the last year of his life. One that saw his smash-hit “Fancy Like,” an ode to the simple things in life, like a date night at Applebee’s, sit atop the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart for over six months and garner Hayes his first GRAMMY-nomination.

A pro at pairing deeper topics with catchy beats (“AA,” “Craig,” “Don’t Let Her”), Hayes jumped at the opportunity to collaborate with the multi-Platinum artist and share a bit of what he’s experienced this last year. On the track, he sings “I almost got that GRAMMY, but I guess they don’t do fancy like me,” capping off the verse the ultimate mic drop….he ends with, “but it’s ok, I got low miles on my Prius, rollin’ down the road with Jesus, and my food at Applebee’s is for free.”

Written by Hayes with Daniel Majic, Meron Mengist, Fraser Churchill, Sean Davidson, Dre Davidson, and Breyan Isaac and produced by The Monarch and Majic, “High Heels” is a club-ready anthem about doing the best we can and enjoying life as it is.

Also out today is a lyric video Hayes and Flo Rida created to accompany the track. Both artists have added the song to their set lists while out on the road, and the video shows the excitement the arenas are already feeling for the track.

Following a breakthrough year that saw the Monument Records recording artist earn a GRAMMY nomination, six Billboard Music Award nominations, five ACM Award nominations, a CMT Award nomination, and a number one at Country radio, Walker Hayes is at it again with new single “Y’all Life.”

Yesterday, the song debuted at Country Radio as the most added song of the week, with 76 first week stations on the track.

“We’ve been at this a long time, and I’ve never had this many stations add one of my songs on day one,” says Hayes. “Thanks to my team for busting it out there and thank you to all the stations spinning my songs. If your local station is on the song give ‘em a shout!”

Released on July 15, “Y’all Life” also gave Hayes his highest streaming debut to date – no small feat for an artist who has two of the top 5 highest streamed songs in the genre this year to date. With over 2.5 million first week streams, “Y’all Life” was the No. 1 country digital song, and No. 3 all genre digital song the week it was released.

Hayes will return to the “TODAY Show” on Friday, Aug. 5, to perform “Y’all Life” for the first time on National television as part of the Citi Summer Concert Series. The GRAMMY-nominated singer/songwriter’s appearance will also include smash hits “Fancy Like,” “AA” and beloved single “Craig.”

“Y’all Life” is a quintessential song about the easy-going, loosened-up way of life in the South. True to Hayes’ signature songwriting style, which Billboard praises as “personal, soul-bearing storylines; rolling rhymes; and Macklemore-like cadence,” the track is meant to celebrate life and living in the moment, even if that means things are a little messy… “that just means you’re busy livin’,” explains Hayes.

Written by Hayes, with Pete Good and Josh Jenkins, as well as original Country Grammar writers Cornell Haynes Jr. (Nelly) and Jason Epperson and produced by Hayes with “Fancy Like” collaborator Joe Thibodeau, and multi-GRAMMY Award winner Shane McAnally, “Y’all Life,” continues Hayes’ tradition of releasing songs that reflect his personal experiences. “I’ve found the more I show people the ‘real,’ the more relatable it seems to be, so here’s to more stories about how y’all are livin’, too!”

This fall, Hayes will embark on his headlining arena tour, Glad You’re Here, named after the book he co-wrote with best friend Craig Allen Cooper. The book tells the story of the beloved Hayes track “Craig” and details Hayes’ journey to finding Christ. Tickets are available at WalkerHayes.com.

Walker Hayes Releases Highly Anticipated New Single "Y'all Life" + Official Music Video

Following a breakthrough year that saw the Monument Records recording artist earn a GRAMMY nomination, six Billboard Music Award nominations, five ACM Award nominations, a CMT Award nomination, and a No. 1 at Country Radio, Walker Hayes leans into the real-life inspiration of his family and friends for his new release, the highly anticipated new single “Y’all Life.

Y’all Life” is a quintessential song about the easy-going, loosened-up way of life in the South. True to Hayes’ signature songwriting style, which Billboard praises as “personal, soul-bearing storylines; rolling rhymes; and Macklemore-like cadence,” he sings:

“LIVIN’ THAT Y’ALL LIFE Y’ALL / ROLLING IN THE SOUTH / WHERE IT’S ALL FOOTBALL AND JESUS”

Hailing from Mobile, Alabama, Hayes shares what “Y’all Life” means to him…and he doesn’t just sing it, he lives it.

“’Y’all Life’ is meant to celebrate life and livin’ in the moment, even if that means things are a little messy… that just means you’re busy livin’,” explains Hayes. “Take me and my family for instance. We’re normal people. We have a garage on the front of our house, we live down the street from a strip mall. Sometimes I leave the lawn mower in the yard; the blow-up Christmas yard ornaments stayed up way too long this year; there are bikes all over the driveway. We even got a letter in the mail about our weeds the other day. We’re out here living life the best we can and it’s chaotic, but it’s ours and we’re doing it with the people we love, and I feel like a lot of people can relate to that imagery in this song.”

Written by Hayes, with Pete Good and Josh Jenkins, as well as original Country Grammar writers Cornell Haynes Jr. (Nelly) and Jason Epperson, and produced by Hayes with “Fancy Like” collaborator Joe Thibodeau, and multi-GRAMMY Award winner Shane McAnally, “Y’all Life,” continues Hayes’ tradition of releasing songs that reflect his personal experiences. “I’ve found the more I show people the ‘real,’ the more relatable it seems to be, so here’s to more stories about how y’all are livin’, too!”

As the single heads to Country radio today (impacting Aug. 1), the official music video for “Y’all Life” makes its debut. Shot in Chapel Hill, Tennessee, directors Mason Allen and Nicki Fletcher called on the town to help create the perfect Friday night football setting. With the high school football team, cheerleaders, and marching band all showing up game ready, along with hundreds of fans from the town participating in the stands, the video depicts a familiar scene of small-town love that so many Americans know so well.

Walker Hayes' "Country Stuff The Album" Debuts Top 10 on "Billboard" Top 200 Chart + No. 1 in Country Album Sales

It’s been a week since GRAMMY-nominated Walker Hayes released his highly-anticipated Country Stuff The Album, and like with his smash hit “Fancy Like,” he continues to have these pinch-me viral and critically acclaimed moments.

Country Stuff The Album officially debuted in the top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 200 Chart this week, and at No. 2 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart, while landing at No. 1 for country album sales.

The 13-song project showcases why fans love Hayes’ music. Featuring his signature witty lyrics, sticky melodies and autobiographical storylines, he doesn’t shy away from difficult topics. Hitting on sobriety, loss, love and country fun, the album was produced by Hayes with Joe Thibodeau and Multi-GRAMMY Award winner Shane McAnally.

In a week full of high moments, Hayes appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America to talk about the release, the music, and all it’s meant to him. He was also featured in the Tennessean, where he talked about his long journey to success, from moving to Nashville with his wife almost 20 years ago, working at Costco, and his lifechanging moment in a Smoothie King. The Tennessean writes, “If Nashville is a 10-year town, no one told Walker Hayes (and that’s ok by him).”

In the most unexpected moment of the week, Hayes found that he’d yet again gone viral after a performance at the halftime show of the AFC Championship game in Kansas City. After performing his set live to the 75,000-person crowd, including “AA,” “U Gurl,” and “Fancy Like,” Hayes got off stage to hundreds of texts, calls and memes about the show disrupting the halftime broadcast on CBS. Unbeknownst to him, his voice was heard across the country, as halftime hosts James Brown, Phil Simms, Bill Cowher, Nate Burleson and Boomer Esiason attempted to talk about the game, but were drowned out by the performance.

“As a massive sports fan I was so jacked to perform halftime at the game, I just couldn’t wait to get in the stadium,” says Hayes. “We didn’t think our performance would be broadcast — so to see what’s happened, I mean, you can’t make this up! I guess we made broadcast after all!”

After a weekend of sold-out shows under his belt, Hayes continues The Fancy Like Tour next weekend in Chesterfield, MO.

Walker Hayes Releases New Track "Drinking Songs" Today from Forthcoming COUNTRY STUFF THE ALBUM (Out 1/21/22)

After announcing the upcoming release of his highly-anticipated Country Stuff The Album (available 1/21) and simultaneously dropping his latest, rising single “AA,” GRAMMY-nominated Walker Hayes continues to deliver new music with his latest track, “Drinking Songs” on Monument Records.

Joining prior releases including his current single “AA,” “U Gurl” and his first No. 1 song “Fancy Like,” “Drinking Songs” features Hayes’ signature witty lyrics, sticky melodies and autobiographical storylines. Written by Hayes along with Jordan Gray and produced by “Fancy Like” collaborator Joe Thibodeau and Multi-GRAMMY Award Winner Shane McAnally, the new track finds Hayes paradoxically declaring his love of drinking songs while proudly six years sober – he may have quit drinking, yet he can’t quite surrender Country music’s longstanding devotion to songs about them.

“‘Drinking Songs’ is one of my favorites off the new album,” shares Hayes. “I don’t drink anymore but I still connect with how a song can get you through, just like a drink can for some people. We’ve all been in a bar full of people singing together, arms around each other. Plus, the lyrics and the beat just have a relatable quality to them that feels so country to me.”

With a tribute to the traditions the great Hank Williams Jr. has long sang about, “Drinking Songs” calls to Bocephus for guidance:

SO GIVE ME THAT BOURBON AND BOCEPHUS
I CAN’T HELP ME SO HELP ME JESUS
SHE AIN’T COMING BACK LIKE YOU SHE GONE
SO WHAT I NEED IS IN WILLIAM’S VOICE RIGHT NOW
HANK AND EVAN DON’T LET ME DOWN
BRING THEM FAMILY TRADITIONS ON
I’MMA JUST KEEP SITTIN AND SIPPIN’ AND SINGING ALONG
THANK GOD FOR DRINKING AND DRINKING SONGS

Walker Hayes Announces 'Country Stuff The Album' + Releases New Single "AA"

On the heels of his smash hit “Fancy Like” reaching number one at country radio, Walker Hayes releases his next single “AA” and announces his forthcoming album, Country Stuff The Album.

Country Stuff The Album will include “Fancy Like” as well as previously released “U Gurl,” along with “AA” and 10 other tracks, including Hayes’ collaborations with Carly Pearce, Jake Owen, and Lori McKenna, and a re-imagined version of “Craig” featuring MercyMe.

Country Stuff The Album is available everywhere on January 21, 2022. As always with Hayes’ music, each track on the project will be uniquely his, and share a range of emotion from nostalgia and pain to joy and good old fashion fun.

“I’ve been waiting so long to put out a project like this,” says Hayes. “It has everything I love from the fun of ‘Fancy Like’ to the more personal lyrics in ‘AA.’ As an artist, it’s such a unique thing to be able to share all the different versions of you in a project, and that’s really what I tried to do here.”

Out today, new single “AA” was written by Hayes with Multi-GRAMMY Award Winner Shane McAnally and Luke Laird and produced by “Fancy Like” collaborator Joe Thibodeau and McAnally. The song taps into all the things fans love about “Fancy Like,” but this time, brings in Hayes’ deeper side. True to form, Hayes sings about the experiences of everyday Americans, with “AA” hitting on his anxieties as a dad, his love for his wife Laney, and his own journey with sobriety. He sings:

AND I’M JUST TRYNA KEEP MY DAUGHTERS OFF THE POLE
AND MY SONS OUT OF JAIL
TRYNA GET TO CHURCH SO I DON’T GO TO HELL
I’M JUST TRYNA KEEP MY WIFE FROM FIGURING OUT
THAT I MARRIED UP AND SHE MARRIED WAY WAY DOWN
IN ALABAMA WHERE THEY LOVE NICK SABAN
TRYNA WRITE A SONG THE LOCAL COUNTRY STATION WILL PLAY
HEY I’M JUST TRYNA STAY OUT OF AA

“At the end of the day, we are all just doing the best we can,” says Hayes about the track, “and what I really mean to say with this song is just that I’m trying to stay the course. I’ve struggled with alcohol abuse and sometimes I wish I didn’t need AA, but I do. I think a lot of people can relate to that. I’m just trying to be the best dad and husband I can be. It’s not easy all the time, but my wife smiles a lot and my kids are growing up with more than I had, and that’s a really good thing.”

Listen to “AA” below.

Tune into CBS Sunday Morning this coming Sunday (11/21) to hear more about Hayes’ journey to where he is now. You can also watch Hayes perform “Fancy Like” on the American Music Awards that same day.
