In Hearts Wake Share "The Flood (ǝɔᴉʇsnɾ)" Video

Combustive and ravenously raw, the brand new single "The Flood (ǝɔᴉʇsnɾ)" from Australian metalcore band In Hearts Wake merges real-life devastation with vivid sonic dexterity. Releasing today via UNFD, "The Flood (ǝɔᴉʇsnɾ)" also features Parkway Drive's Winston McCall on guest vocal duties.

Another piercing cut from In Hearts Wake's forthcoming sixth studio album Incarnation, due out this Friday July 12, "The Flood (ǝɔᴉʇsnɾ)" snapshots the band's experiences during the 2022 floods that ravaged Northern NSW, with the addition of fellow Byron Bay native McCall, who adds ferocious gravitas.

Balancing pummeling arrangements with fleeting moments of austere atmospherics, "The Flood (ǝɔᴉʇsnɾ)" ultimately channels genuine fear and tragedy into a hulking and cathartic metalcore masterpiece. And, as vocalist Jake Taylor reveals, the return of McCall on guest vocal duties following his feature on the 2012 In Hearts Wake track "Departure (Death)" organically transpired during the aftermath of the 2022 floods.

"The Flood. Where to start?," shares Taylor. "It was February 2022 and torrential rains hit our home region in Northern Rivers NSW. Entire towns swallowed two stories underwater. Homes and lives were lost. The floods were biblical. My step-dad narrowly escaped out of a second story window by jumping onto a floating mattress."

He continues, "In the weeks that followed, I was out in Lismore NSW delivering emergency supplies with the rest of the band and I bumped into Winston (vocalist of Parkway Drive), who was helping out on a food run. We couldn't believe the destruction we were seeing, and yet at the same time, the resilience and strength of the people. 12 years since Winston's last feature on Divination and it felt right to reconnect and collaborate on such an important event that happened to our community."

In addition to McCall, Incarnation also boasts a sweltering lineup of guest features, including Paledusk vocalist Kaito Nagai on Shishigami シシ神 (ssǝɹdɯǝ ǝɥʇ), Chad Ruhlig of For the Fallen Dreams, David Gunn of King 810 and Alfonso Civile of Heartsick on Michigama (uɐᴉɔᴉƃɐɯ ǝɥʇ), and The Color Morale's Garret Rapp on Shellshock (ssǝʇsǝᴉɹd ɥƃᴉɥ ǝɥʇ).

Throughout the lead up to the release of their new album, In Hearts Wake have been operating an official Incarnation Tarot-themed website that fans can visit throughout the album rollout for access to behind the scenes, exclusive info, and Incarnation announcements. And for fans keen to sleuth a sneak peek at parts of the unreleased track "Feeding The Dead (ǝɔuɐɹǝdɯǝʇ)," In Hearts Wake are currently offering a gateway to finding the song's stem files hidden across the internet. Collect them all and piece them together to get your hands on the full instrumental for "Feeding The Dead (ǝɔuɐɹǝdɯǝʇ)" before its official release! For more info, visit here.

Recently appearing at UNIFY Off The Record and wowing audiences across Australia with their Decade Of Divination tour last year, In Hearts Wake now turn their gaze to their new full-length Incarnation in 2024, with the band also set to celebrate and farewell their journey to date with long-time bassist and vocalist Kyle Erich this September. Spanning Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, In Hearts Wake will also be joined by special guests PALEFACE SWISS, King 810, and Gravemind.

Ahead of the Incarnation Australian Tour and in conjunction with announcing Erich's departure, In Hearts Wake also recently shared a new single, "Farewell," with the track fittingly bringing to a close the monumental chapter for Erich and In Hearts Wake.

Burden of the Sky released the official music video for their single "The Flood." The band will be touring on Sevendust’s “Animosity Tour” in September of 2022.

"When we began writing 'The Flood' we were in a dark headspace. We were angry and mournful after the passing of our guitarist and founding member Bradford Shaw. Our only goal was to write a song that we could pour our soul and emotions into in honor of our fallen brother. Once we had a demo put together, we reached out to Blake (SAUL) and Morgan (Sevendust) and told them our story. We asked them to contribute their own experiences and emotions to the song and the result was better than we could have ever asked for," says Scottie James.

He adds, “'The Flood' is symbolic of all of the struggles in life, our demons that try to bring us down and swallow us whole; the ever-looming darkness and misery that is held back by our own will that inevitably will come crashing through the second we let our guard down. This song is our way of saying we will stand our ground — strong, fierce, and determined — in solidarity against anything life throws our way; even though we know we cannot win, we will fight for what we believe in until our last breath."

Burden of the Sky is an alternative metal band hailing from Bloomington, IL. Formed in 2012 by Josh Appel and the late Brad Shaw, the band has built itself as one of the most well known bands in the Midwest. Led by lead singer Scottie James and guitarist Josh Appel, the band has performed across the Midwest and beyond with many of today’s hottest active rock bands. With a lineup rounded out by drummer Rick Streeter, bassist Dustin Tritsch, guitarist and backing vocalist TJ Duckwiler , and keyboardist Mike Mahoney, “BOTS” regularly leaves fans begging for more once they leave the stage.

Having hit the stage with acts such as Sevendust, Ice Nine Kills, A Day To Remember, I Prevail, Nothing More, Asking Alexandria and more, the band continues to show they belong on the big stage. Their debut album, Cinis Ad Cinis, featured the single “Same Old Page”, which has amassed millions of streams since its 2017 release. Sophomore album Sine Timore was led by “Sirens”, which was featured on many top Spotify playlists, gaining over a million streams. Most recently, the band released a cover of Ellie Goulding’s “Lights”, as well as original single “Whiteout”, which was featured on Apple Music’s “Breaking Hard Rock” playlist.

2022 will bring multiple single releases that were produced and co-written with the likes of Morgan Rose (Sevendust) and Ricky Armellino (Ice Nine Kills, Hawk), including the newest single “The Flood” featuring Rose and Blake Bedsaul (Saul).

KANDIA ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE "THE FLOOD"

SINGLE & LYRIC VIDEO OUT TODAY

NEW STUDIO ALBUM DUE IN EARLY 2022

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of 'The Flood', the new single from the awesome new alternative metal band Kandia. Watch the lyric video for 'The Flood' below.

Stream/download the single HERE: https://orcd.co/kandiaflood

The single precedes the band's upcoming label debut, due in early 2022.

Kandia, an alternative metal band from Portugal, create raw, melodic, and sensual music that delivers positive messages while not leaving the aggressiveness out of the music.

“We are excited and very eager to work with Frontiers," says the band. "The label is passionate about music and we are proud to be part of the family. Our new album will definitely have our identity, but we always like to experiment with new things. These hard times that we are going through are giving us much inspiration, so this record will be filled with different emotions.“

Kandia started in November 2007, founded by singer Nya Cruz and guitarist André Da Cruz. They decided to name the band Kandia – to obfuscate, to blind by light – as they felt it would represent the positivity they wanted to radiate. Influenced by progressive rock bands such as A Perfect Circle, Tool, Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd, and metal giants like Metallica and Pantera, the band was able to find a unique sound joining all these influences in their songwriting.

Kandia has released two full length albums thus far, both produced by Daniel Cardoso (Anathema), and one EP.
