WARFORGED Premiere Music Video for "Sheridan Road"

Chicago-based death metal quintet WARFORGED are back with the second single from their upcoming album, 'The Grove | Sundial'. The band has partnered with Metal Sucksto premiere the music video for "Sheridan Road".

Speaking on the new track, the band comments:

"'Sheridan Road' is a perfect example of the experimentation that makes up a piece of The Grove, and is one of our most ambitious songs to date. Lyrically, this was the first song I wrote as a stream of consciousness, to describe what I and a few of the other guys spent a ton of time doing during the initial months of the pandemic - driving. The video is a good look inside of our lives on the road, featuring a ton of footage we captured ourselves on the Terrestria US tour, and featuring a wide cast of cameo appearances by people we love. Get in your car, turn the ignition on, light up a cigarette and come take a ride with us down Sheridan Road."

'The Grove | Sundial', will see a September 9, 2022 release via The Artisan Era.

GREYLOTUS Drop Lyric Video for New Single "Shadow Archetype"

Baltimore progressive tech-death metal quintet GREYLOTUS have released the third and final single from their upcoming debut album. Fans can check out the lyric video for "Shadow Archetype" via the link below. The debut full-length from Greylotus, titled 'Dawnfall', will see a July 8, 2022 release via The Artisan Era.

Speaking about their new album, the band comments:

‘Dawnfall’ serves as a follow-up statement to the ‘Savior’ EP, which dealt with thrusting inner demons borne of trauma and mental health struggles out into the open, and accepting the reality of existing with them.

In the metaphor of the lotus’ life-cycle, ‘Savior’ represented the stage in which the seed is buried under the mud - shelled in, unaware, and unable to budge from what it has known. ‘Dawnfall’ embodies the process of breaking out of the shell and traveling toward the sun’s light, reaching through murky waters and currents, struggling to separate True North from tricks of the refracted light.

‘Dawnfall’ explores the self-doubt that accompanies the realization that healing is a non-linear process. It wanders through the pits of self-judgment and confronts what follows when an individual accepts that the best version of themselves is not constrained by perfection.

About GREYLOTUS:

Greylotus is a progressive technical death metal band from Baltimore, Maryland.

Combining influences from all edges of the modern metal frontier, Greylotus crafts various dynamic walls of sound, ranging from passages of blisteringly technical riffs and artillery-esque blast beats, to emotional and melodic harmonies and choruses, to soundscapes brimming with ambient, orchestral, acoustic, and synth elements. After establishing the foundation of their sound in the 2018 EP, ‘Savior’, they went to work writing for their debut full-length ‘Dawnfall,’ a genre-defying experience highlighting the wide array of influences each member brings to the table.

Greylotus serves to provide a narrative for self-development through metaphor following the lotus flower’s life cycle in their lyrics. They seek to leave memorable emotional postcards that listeners can connect with and reflect upon.

After getting their first taste of the road in 2019 alongside Abiotic, Cognitive, and God of Nothing, and playing the virtual Techabilitation Festival in 2020 amid the pandemic, Greylotus are raring to perform again at United Kingdom Tech-Fest 2022 and tours TBA.

ARONIOUS Release Lyric Video for New Single "Descent of Inanna"

New Album 'Irkalla' out August 12th via The Artisan Era

Wisconsin-based Prog-Death metal quintet ARONIOUS are back with a new full-length studio effort. The follow-up to their 2020 album 'Perspicacity', the band's sophomore LP, 'Irkalla', will see an August 12th, 2022 release via The Artisan Era. To give fans a first taste of the new record, the band has released the first single, titled "Descent of Inanna", along with a lyric video for the track that can be seen below.

'Irkalla' marks the return of founding guitarist Brandon Brown to the lineup - this time manning lead vocal duties, along with the addition of new drummer Kevin Paradis and session bassist Andrew Kim.

Speaking about their new album, 'Irkalla', the band comments:

"Irkalla in Babylonian mythology is known as the underworld, which we found to be a fitting title for the dismal, dissonant, destructive, and technical sound of the music. The lyrical themes revolve around the arc of the ancient Sumerian epic, The Descent of Inanna, which calls attention to various correlated topics, such as the Sumerian Gods, their backstories, and Inanna’s odyssey to and from the underworld. This album is also the first to feature our new vocalist Brandon Brown, our new drummer Kevin Paradis and Andrew Kim on session bass.

Mixing was done by Nick Weyers and mastering was done by Marc Birr of Carp Town Studios. The songs you will hear on this album are for the most part about 4-6 years in the making, the oldest of which being the song ‘Negeltu’ which was written in 2016. These songs were originally intended to be used for Ryan Brumlic and Nick Weyers’ side project that was also named ‘Irkalla’, but since that project didn’t quite pan out, we figured that it sounded enough like Aronious to use as our next album. This worked out in our favor because the album ‘Irkalla’ really sounds like a more refined, intense and mature follow-up to the sound on our previous album ‘Perspicacity’. There’s no sugar coating it. We are confident this album will destroy you. Enjoy!"

About ARONIOUS:

Aronious is a technical dissonant death metal band originating from the coldest depths of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Rising from these depths, Aronious is comprised of Brandon Brown on vocals, Ryan Brumlic on guitar, Nick Weyers on guitar, Jason Bouwer on bass, and Kevin Paradis on drums. Brandon Brown is a founding member of the band and was actually initially our other guitarist, but had taken a break from Aronious during his move to Kentucky. After our previous vocalist (Zach Earley) recently left the band, it only made sense to bring Brandon Brown back to the fold as our vocalist after hearing his vocal work in his project Klexos. Ryan Brumlic guitarist and other founding members of the band continue to meticulously compose songs of a dissonant and technical nature along with guitarist Nick Weyers. The two have since proven to be an integral part of Aronious’ overall sound, and provide a strong foundation through their compositions together. Bassist Jason Bouwer is a fairly new band member that has shown he is more than capable of providing a sturdy backbone to the music rhythmically and sonically. His mindful ear and attention to detail when composing his bass parts truly adds a new flavor to our music that we are confident all our current and new fans will enjoy. Kevin Paradis serves as our new official drummer, whom we think fits our sound perfectly. Kevin’s tastefulness and skill behind the drum kit impressed us so much, not just in the way of speed, but in how he accents each beat and riff we throw his way. With this, we finally feel that Aronious has never had a more strong and promising future.

Baltimore progressive tech-death metal quintet GREYLOTUS have unveiled the first single from their new album! The band has partnered with Metal Injection to premiere the music video for "Azure Rain", which can be seen below.

This cohesive story is scored with plenty of blast beats and intricate riffs that are deeply layered to create an atmosphere that elevates each chapter's overarching concept."

We Are In Transit (WAIT) Release New Single "I Climb Downhill" - Debut Album 'The End of Noise' out February 11, 2022

Baltimore tech-metal outfit WAIT (We Are In Transit) have released a new single from their upcoming debut album. The new track, titled "I Climb Downhill", is out today and accompanied by a visualizer.

WAIT first took shape when guitarist Charlie Eron partnered with Max Phelps (of Cynic and Defeated Sanity fame). The band released their self-titled EP in 2019, with bassistAlex Weber and drummer Anup Sastry rounding out the lineup at this point.

The debut studio album from WAIT, 'The End of Noise', will see a February 11th, 2022release via The Artisan Era!

Speaking on the new album, the members of WAIT comment:

"'The End of Noise' is a synonym for the stillness of the mind when one is either in a deep meditative state, asleep, or dead. "Noise" refers to the mental static one hears and feels resulting from a neverending barrage of stimuli. In the process of writing 'The End of Noise', Charlie turned 30, and the typical existential crisis that occurs at that stage in life influenced the dramatic nature of the writing and lyrical content. While the previous EP could be described as esoteric and under-the-skin deep, 'The End of Noise' aims to conceptually drill to the very core of the Earth."

Pre-Order 'The End of Noise' HERE

About WAIT:

WAIT was formed circa 2016 by guitarist Charlie Eron and vocalist/guitarist Max Phelps (Exist, Cynic, Defeated Sanity, Death To All). With the addition of bassist Alex Weber (Exist, Malignancy, Svengahli, Ex-Sabbath Assembly, ex-Jeff Loomis), the trio released their debut EP "We Are in Transit" in 2019 with drums by Anup Sastry. WAIT's music is about the process of living, and how time is starkly linear and unrecoverable. Their debut full-length record, "The End of Noise", is about the inner mercilessness of everyday existence.

ABIOTIC Announce 10 Year Anniversary Re-release of Debut EP - 'A Universal Plague: Mutation' on Vinyl & Digital

American Deathcore five-piece ABIOTIC are excited to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of their debut studio record, 2011's self-released 'A Universal Plague'. Fresh off the release of their third studio album, 'Ikigai', Abiotic is releasing 'A Universal Plague: Mutation', their second offering on their new label The Artisan Era. The updated re-release features a new single, "Mutation", as well as a re-recorded version of the band's seminal single, "Vermosapien".

Speaking on revisiting their debut record, the band says:

"We're so grateful to get to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our debut EP with the re-release of A Universal Plague: Mutation. Fans have been asking us to release the EP digitally and on vinyl for what feels like forever and we're so pumped to be working with The Artisan Era to get this out to everyone with some bonus tracks for the fans. We decided to re-record the song that started it all for us, Vermosapien, with our new lineup and make some creative tweaks, including using 8 strings, to give the song new life while keeping true to our original sound."

The members of Abiotic go on to share:

"The idea was to show the mutation we've made as a band, hence the name of the EP. We also added a brand new song (Mutation), featuring our former vocalists Dickie Allen (Infant Annihilator) and Ray Jimenez (Acaedia), which is easily the heaviest song we've ever written. I think fans are going to lose their minds to this song, hearing the blend of voices that have been part of the band's 10-year span of plaguing the extreme metal scene. A huge thank you to everyone who has supported the band over the last decade. We are only able to do what we love to do because of you. Cheers!"

A Universal Plague: Mutation is out THIS FRIDAY (December 3rd, 2021) via The Artisan Era. PRE-ORDER HERE: https://ffm.to/abiotic

DESSIDERIUM Release Title Track For New Album 'Aria' - Out December 10th on The Artisan Era!

DESSIDERIUM Release Title Track For New Album

'Aria' Coming December 10th via The Artisan Era

Pre-Order HERE

Melodic Death-Prog trailblazer DESSIDERIUM has released the second single from their upcoming studio album! Clocking in at over 14 minutes, the constantly shape-shifting new song is the title track of their The Artisan Era debut, 'Aria'! Fans can check out "Aria" via the visualizer found below.

The brainchild of Southern California native Alex Haddad, Dessiderium started out as a passion project for the multi-faceted artist, with the band's first two albums ('Life Was A Blur' & 'Rain Gates') being recorded and produced in his bedroom. However, the band's third LP, 'Shadow Burn', would establish it as a legitimate force within the underground metal scene - highlighting elements of melodic arrangements, hyper-aggressive death instrumentals, and emotionally vulnerable lyrical themes.

Aria will see a December 10th, 2021 release via The Artisan Era.

Pre-Order 'Aria' HERE

Musically, 'Aria' marks a return to the long-form style of songwriting from Dessiderium. Songs weave in and out of acrobatic riffing, calming transitions, and dense walls of sound, all while forming a cohesive narrative. The story is told episodically, following the song-to-song evolution of a nameless protagonist who forms an ever-growing obsession with a reoccurring lucid dream figure named Aria. It is through this concept that the album explores broader themes of love, lust, infatuation, isolation, nostalgia, and death. Ultimately, through its music and words, Aria pays recognition to both the esoteric beauty and inevitable damage of living life through escapism.

About DESSIDERIUM:

Dessiderium is the musical diary of Alex Haddad, founded in Southern California, and remaining active in the Sonoran Desert. The first two albums, Life Was A Blur and Rain Gates, were quietly released bedroom recordings that demonstrated early promise in the progressive metal project’s distinctive take on metal. On its third release, Shadow Burn, Dessiderium established itself as an authentic presence in the underground metal scene, offering its blend of hyper-melodic, complex music, paired with a haunting sense of vulnerability through lyrical themes. With an ever-expanding body of work and plans for a live-performing lineup, the year 2021 marks the true beginning for Dessiderium.

We Are In Transit (WAIT) Announce Debut Studio Album 'The End of Noise'

We Are In Transit (WAIT) Announce Debut Album

'The End of Noise' Coming February 11, 2022 via The Artisan Era

Baltimore tech-metal outfit WAIT (We Are In Transit) have announced the details for their debut studio album. The new record, 'The End of Noise', will see a February 11th, 2022release via The Artisan Era! WAIT first took shape when guitarist Charlie Eron partnered with Max Phelps (of Cynic and Defeated Sanity fame). The band released their self-titled EP in 2019, with bassist Alex Weber and drummer Anup Sastry rounding out the lineup at this point.

To give fans a taste of their upcoming debut full-length, WAIT have released the first single from the LP, titled "Lone Presence Supreme". The group has also dropped a lyric video for the track, which can be found below.

DESSIDERIUM Sign with The Artisan Era - Release New Single "Moon Lust Delirium"

DESSIDERIUM Sign With The Artisan Era!

New Album 'Aria' Coming December 10, 2021

LISTEN: New Single "Moon Lust Delirium"

Pacific Southwest Prog-Metal trailblazer DESSIDERIUM is pleased to announce that they've signed with The Artisan Era! The brainchild of Southern California native Alex Haddad, Dessiderium started out as a passion project for the multi-faceted artist, with the band's first two albums ('Life Was A Blur' & 'Rain Gates') being recorded and produced in his bedroom. However, the band's third LP, Shadow Burn, would establish it as a legitimate force within the underground metal scene - highlighting elements of melodic arrangements, hyper-aggressive death instrumentals, and emotionally vulnerable lyrical themes.

Today, Dessiderium has announced that their fourth full-length album, 'Aria', will see a December 10th, 2021 release on The Artisan Era. Wasting no time giving listeners their first taste of what will be the band's most unrelenting and ambitious effort to date, Haddadhas released the album's first single "Moon Lust Delirium". Fans can listen to the new track, which clocks in at over nine minutes, at the link below.

Speaking about signing with The Artisan Era, Haddad shares how the experience has been a perfect fit from the start, saying:

"Signing with The Artisan Era is a dream come true. When I first discovered the label back in 2018, I instantly felt a sense of belonging. Their entire roster of bands showcased a style that seemed directly tailored to what I enjoy about metal music. In 2019, I had the honor of joining forces with the label through Arkaik, and now in 2021, I have the honor of bringing my solo efforts to the family through Dessiderium. Beyond all of this, it is simply a pleasure to share such a high-quality label with many of my favorite bands in metal today."
