American Idol Winner Iam Tongi Brings the 'Sunshine' with New Track

“American Idol” Season 21 winner and Hawaii native, Iam Tongi, releases new track, “Sunshine,” today via 19 Recordings ahead of Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Written by Tongi along with Tyler Cain and Johnny Reid, the song finds Tongi basking in positivity and feel-good warmth with a fusion of country and reggae sounds offering a dose of sonic Vitamin D to match his Hawaiian home. Listen to “Sunshine” HERE.

Recorded in Nashville at Soultrain Sound Studios, Tongi says of the song, “Even though I just turned 20, I’ve had to face some pretty difficult times in my life. When I lost my dad a few years ago, it made me realize how short life is. It also made me take stock of what really matters. My mom is my biggest hero and inspiration, and she has always pushed me to be kind, work hard and be a better version of myself, no matter what.”

Tongi continues, “I wrote ‘Sunshine’ because I wanted to spread love, light and positivity to the world. Even when times are tough, you can find goodness around you.”

At just 18-years old when he auditioned, the Hawaiian born singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist won hearts around the world and brought Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan, to tears with his emotional performance of James Blunt's "Monsters," dedicated to his father Rodney who had recently passed away - watch it HERE. The audition went on to become the most watched on the show’s YouTube with 36 million views. Tongi became the first Pacific Islander to win the series and went on to earn his first Billboard No. 1 on the Rock Digital Songs Sales Chart after releasing his debut single, "I'll Be Seeing You"

Tongi is set to make his CMA Fest debut June 5 on the Dr Pepper Amp Stage as well as his Grand Ole Opry debut on June 11. He is currently on the road with dates across the U.S. through the summer and fall with more to be announced soon. LOVE IS NOISE Shares New Single "Sunshine" + New Video

LOVE IS NOISE blasts into 2025 with their enormous new single “Sunshine”. The new year is always a time for reflection and improvement and this song embodies that feeling.

'Sunshine' was written about my search for happiness and how nature can help facilitate that.” Says LOVE IS NOISE mastermind Cam Humphrey. “When I heard the finished mix of this song, it gave me chills. We had the pleasure of being able to have a real cello on 'Sunshine' which really brought the song to life. I would love to have a full orchestra on a LINsong one day.”

After an incredibly busy and successful 2024, this year is set to be another massive one for LOVE IS NOISE. February 14th will see the release of their highly anticipated debut album, ‘To live in a different way’, on Century Media Records. With influences ranging from Portishead, Radiohead, My Bloody Valentine, Oasis, Bowery Electric, Boards of Canada, and Deftones, the band set about to create a record that makes you feel every emotion possible.

Speaking of the album, Cam says:

“‘To live in a different way’ is the story of a kid from Bolton trying to understand the world he lives in. It's 11 tracks full of love, heartache, and dream-soaked melody, I believe we’ve created something special.”

LOVE IS NOISE is an exercise in empathy, both lyrically and musically. The band’s Century Media debut, ‘To live in a different way’, straddles the roughshod riffing and volume of their DIY origins while embracing shoegaze-facing melodiousness, hints of Brit-pop, and a beating (and bleeding) heart erupting from Cam Humphrey’s plaintive vocals. Co-produced by the band with engineer Kel Pinchin and mixed by John Markson (Drug Church, Drain, The Story So Far), ‘To live in a different way’ is a startling debut album. From the opening track, “Devotion,” where Humphrey’s voice invokes passion and positivity, to the second track, “Soft Glow,” the album’s first single where he croons, “You are the one that shines on me,”before launching into a throat-shredding exaltation of emotion amidst a crushing battery of slashing guitars and battering drums, it’s clear from the onset that LOVE IS NOISE’s heartbeat is a thunderous one.

“We made a conscious decision to make the record feel like a live band, mistakes included!”says Cam. “In an era where perfection is heavily favoured, we wanted to do the complete opposite and dive headfirst into creating something our idols would’ve set out to create.”

LOVE IS NOISE began its journey in 2021 as a collaboration between Humphrey and former guitarist Tom Mellon (who recently left the band to explore other musical endeavours) balancing the ethereal and intense. While sonic signposts include modern-day shoegaze as well as the likes of Glassjaw and Deftones, the band’s 2022 EP, 'Euphoria, Where Were You?' (released on FEVER 333 frontman Jason Aalon Butler’s 333 WRECKORDS CREW) pointed towards a soul-crushing sonic heartache all their own.

A string of singles led to the band inking with Century Media and beginning work on their debut album. LOVE IS NOISE released the first taste of new music with the acclaimed singles “Soft Glow” and “Jawbreaker” which appeared on numerous playlists across the streaming platforms and were featured on BBC Radio One (Daniel P Carter, Alyx Holcombe and Nels Hylton all showing their support).

Beartooth Share New Song "Sunshine!" — LISTEN

Gold-selling, billion-streaming rock band BEARTOOTH — Caleb Shomo, vocals; Zach Huston, guitars; Will Deely, guitars; Oshie Bichar, bass; and Connor Denis, drums — have just unleashed their new single "Sunshine!" and it has all the hallmarks of your favorite Beartooth bangers — cranked up to 11.

There's a supremely catchy, anthemic singalong chorus and a tectonic plate-shifting breakdown that will have you pumping your fist in the air. Say hello to your feel good hit of the summer, courtesy of the 'Tooth!

Listen to "Sunshine!"

"'Sunshine!' is about a lot of things, the most obvious being seasonal depression," says Shomo. "It's always been prevalent in my life but as I grow older, it gets more intense. This song is also about moving on from the dark place I was in during 2020-2021. At the end of the day, life should be enjoyed and a Beartooth song doesn't always have to be miserable."

In other Beartooth news, the band was recently nominated for a Libera Award for "Best Heavy Record" for the 2022 hit single "Riptide," which has garnered over 20 million streams to date. They also wrapped an 18-date, sold-out tour in the UK and Europe, where they headlined some of their biggest shows to date, including the iconic Wembley Arena. It marked the band's most successful overseas run its history so far!

Beartooth will next embark on a 38-date U.S. co-headline tour alongside Trivium, which includes a triumphant return home at Sonic Temple Festival in Columbus, OH. The band will follow the co-headliner with trips to Australia and Europe, while concluding 2023 with an appearance at Blue Ridge Rock Festival in Alton, VA.
