Starbenders Drop New Single + Visualizer "Sex" via Sumerian Records

Atlanta, GA rock n' rollers Starbenders have unveiled their new single "Sex" and the accompanying visualizer (via Sumerian Records). Speaking about the track, vocalist and songwriter Kimi Shelter commented:

"I almost viewed the story of the song playing out like a simulation, a video game. The goal of the game? Get some and don’t get burned. I tend to feel a lot of longing to be one of those seemingly light footed people that dance around all of the heaviness of meaning and consequence. As with most romanticization, I realize that the grass isn’t greener but it’s fun to play with in my mind. The poet has gone rogue."

Watch the visualizer for "Sex"  below, or stream the track here, and be sure to keep your eyes peeled for more Starbenders news coming very soon.

Starbenders are a rock-n-roll dream come true for every hard-luck dreamer occupying this third stone from the sun. Singer/songwriter Kimi Shelter is the love child Johnny Thunders and Joan Jett should have had, raised with an impeccable education from Blondie Elementary School, Def Leppard High, Bowie College, and a Ph.D from Siouxie Sioux University in Fuck All Y’all. Aaron Lecesne brings ripping bass lines, vivid musicality, fashionista chic, and lightning-rod stage energy. Kriss Tokajiis the literal embodiment of a Guitar Adonis whose fretboard mastery easily places him at the pinnacle of today’s young guns, a legend in the making. Then we have Emily Moon, the siren behind the drums, channeling her spiritual father (and namesake), Keith Moon, in a gorgeous tornado of sound and fury. This band has toured the world with everyone from Alice In Chains to Palaye Royale, destroying the entire house every time. They’ve issued twenty-six releases in eight years - singles, EPs, and LPs, including their 2020 full-length, Love Potions, for Sumerian Records. Another album’s worth of new material is currently awaiting release. With a work ethic as relentless as their fabulous vision, there is much more magic yet to come. Starbenders Drop New Single + Music Video "The Game" via Sumerian Records

Atlanta rock n' rollers Starbenders have today released their latest offering "The Game" and the accompanying lyric video (out via Sumerian Records). Speaking on today's drop, the band shares:

"We wrote "The Game" to inspire those who are feeling low on luck and overlooked by a world that's often unforgiving. A battle cry for the downtrodden underdogs. We cooked up a sound to summon the feeling of self-generated power guided by Gods, angels, and ghosts. You can torch all obstacles and silence the doubters once and for all with a little bit of faith. It's all in the way you play The Game.

Hailing from Atlanta, GA, Starbenders has dropped their hotly-anticipated new release "The Game" via Sumerian Records off the heels of 2020’s Love Potion studio album and serving as the follow-up to 2019’s Japanese Rooms EP. "It’s been feeling like everything is crumbling around us as we seem to be hurtling toward an apocalyptic destiny. At some point, you come to the understanding that things have been this way since recorded history. Now we’ve been down for so long that it’s beginning to look like up. Instead of succumbing to frustration and rage, we decided to become one with the chaos and make some noise. Blood Moon is our catharsis."

Starbenders Release New Single + Music Video "If You Need It" via Sumerian Records

Atlanta-based glam punk rockers Starbenders have dropped their new single "If You Need It" and the accompanying music video via Sumerian Records. Speaking about the inspiration behind the track, Kimi Shelter commented:

"The band recorded ‘If You Need It’ during a very difficult time in our lives. The sands were shifting beneath our feet as we stood in the studio. The sentiment of the song is captured in the chorus, “I’ve got love if you need it, drugs to keep it even. I can’t take the pain.” It’s impossible to fix people and that doesn’t mean we didn’t love them enough or do enough. Pain is a dignity that we alone have to transmute. The result is a metallic clash between feathers and switchblades."

Prior to today, Starbenders released their track "Seven White Horses", as well as their deluxe album "Love Potions (Zodiac Deluxe)" which has five additional songs captured during the making of their full-length debut "Love Potions", including a Celtic-tinged, mandolin-laced interpretation of their single "BITCHES BE WITCHES" along with a trip-hop, nineties inspired remix of "Push". Atlanta-based glam punk rockers Starbenders have today dropped a new single and music video, "Seven White Horses" (via Sumerian Records). Speaking on today's release, Kimi Shelter shares:

"The road has a way of putting you in the zone and realizations come to visit. The words of Seven White Horses rushed in during one of these road-inspired epiphanies. The song’s about rebirth, where you have to leave things behind, killing off your weaker self to rise."

This week also marks the one year anniversary of "Love Potions (Zodiac Deluxe)" which has five additional songs captured during the making of their full-length debut "Love Potions", including a Celtic-tinged, mandolin-laced interpretation of their single "BITCHES BE WITCHES" along with a trip-hop, nineties inspired remix of "Push".
