Following the success of their recently released album, 'Severed Heart City,' viral sensations GREYWIND are excited to release a new version of the standout single, "Waterfall."

Having garnered viral success in the build-up to the album release, the single "Waterfall" saw GREYWIND more than double their overall streams, as well as boost their monthly Spotify listeners by more than 100k. To celebrate all the success, the band is now sharing an acoustic version of "Waterfall" featuring Nick Thomas of The Spill Canvas.

"We’re so excited to have Nick Thomas from The Spill Canvas on the acoustic version of 'Waterfall.' It’s been so exciting to hear how another vocalist interpreted the track, and we were blown away by what Nick brought to it. We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect feature on one of our songs!”

The moody world of GREYWIND's recently release album, 'Severed Heart City,' incorporates singles like “Swerve,” which travelled substantially on social media and received recognition from the likes of BBC Radio 1 Introducing Rock and Rock Sound, as have several other anthemic cuts from the record. GREYWIND have seen multiple 'Severed Heart City' tracks appearing on the Kerrang! Chart, as well as receiving spins on Kerrang! Radio, with "Acid Rain" making the K! Nights playlist.

Produced, engineered and mixed by Sam Guaiana (Neck Deep, Silverstein, Holding Absence), ‘Severed Heart City’ wears GREYWIND’s classic emo influences firmly on its metaphorical sleeve. It’s no surprise to hear that they’re inspired by emo pop originators like Jimmy Eat World, Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance, with the duo’s flair for the dramatic and knack for an earworm melody resulting in an album filled to the rafters with anthems. These are songs you can imagine ringing out from the biggest of stages and being sung back at the band by rapt audiences the world over. Envelop yourself in GREYWIND’s ‘Severed Heart City.’

Irish Emo Duo GREYWIND Announces New Album ‘Severed Heart City’ Out September 19th via FLG

As the release of their long-awaited new album ‘Severed Heart City’ draws ever closer, Irish brother-sister duo GREYWIND has revealed a further preview of the emo epic. Titled "Moon," the track draws upon Earth’s natural satellite as a universal reminder of the connections that bind us to those we love, defying distance and time.

Guitarist Paul O’Sullivan says,

We had ‘Moon’ written before our first album was even released, so it’s been a song that has been through a lot with us, and we can’t wait for it to finally be free for the world to hear. It’s a song about longing for someone and hoping they’re thinking about you too.”

Vocalist Steph O’Sullivan adds,

I always picture myself sitting on a windowsill, looking up at the moon and dreaming that the person I’m thinking about is doing the exact same thing at that moment. If you’re in a long-distance relationship or even a friendship with someone far away, it’s comforting to look at the moon knowing they’re under it too.”

GREYWIND’s second album ‘Severed Heart City’ will be released September 19th via FLG. Having heralded the start of a new era earlier this year with epic emo cuts, "Acid Rain" and "I.K.A.M.F.." the brother-sister duo recently announced the full-length alongside the release of another arena-ready anthem which will also appear on the record, titled "Waterfall."

Getting to this point has been more than a rollercoaster for GREYWIND, whose debut album ‘Afterthoughts’ was released in 2017 via a major label who promptly dropped them despite the band’s ultra-promising “Ones To Watch” status. They’ve gone on to stoke their own creative fire and herald an avid fanbase with a Tik Tok surge during lockdown, an EP released by Version III last year (‘Antidote’), tours and festival appearances across the UK, Europe and North America, and now a partnership with FLG. ‘Severed Heart City’ is both the culmination of and the soundtrack to that journey, taking in all the twists and turns in the siblings’ story, both personally and professionally, along the way.

Steph and Paul O'Sullivan comment on the new album:

’Severed Heart City’ is an extended allegory for the stages of trauma, and one’s inner struggle to find resolution. There are many roads that lead to the heart of this broken city, but there is only one bridge out – one of acceptance and hope. Our band was created after the suicide of our uncle and since then we’ve been on an intense journey of achieving some of our biggest dreams to then having everything ripped away from us. ‘Severed Heart City’ is a place where it’s ok to be sad, depressed and feel like the whole world is against you but it’s also a place where you make sure none of those things ever make you give up on yourself or your dreams. Only you can save yourself.”

'Waterfall' is about hopelessly wanting someone to love you, but getting absolutely nothing in return and waking up to the fact that they couldn’t care less about you. Recording this song felt like a massive moment in our career - it’s dark, cinematic, and has everything we love about music in it.”
