"'Lady Lazarus' is me confronting misogyny head-on and refusing to shrink for anyone. The title comes from the Sylvia Plath poem, and like her, I'm pulling something powerful out of something painful. Lines like 'Tender when I wanna be / Callous when I have to be' came from recognizing how women are expected to bend, soften, or apologize just to exist - but also how we learn to harden ourselves for survival.

"When I sing 'Give me your dead stare, I eat men like air,' it's not about hating men - it's about reclaiming the space that was denied to me, the anger I was taught to bury, and the fear I was meant to carry. This song is the sound of unlearning all of that. It's rage, it's release, and it's me deciding I'm no longer shrinking out of anyone's comfort."

"Bite Harder Than You Bleed came from this place of being completely jaded with the music industry—the pressure to act the same, think the same, and worship the same idols. It's that 'kill your idols' moment where you realize even the people you look up to are just as hollow, anxious, and bruised as you are. Lines like 'falsely shallow, hollow, refusing to follow' and 'your idols hate you too' were me processing how disheartening it can feel, but also how freeing it is to acknowledge it. The song is basically my reminder that you have to bite harder than you bleed—push back, stay sharp, and refuse to let the world wear you down."

Speaking on the theme of the new single, Piper shares

"'Can We Watch Something Happy' is written from the perspective of my childhood self. I struggled with severe OCD growing up, which was intensified by being raised in a religious household. I wasn't diagnosed until much later, so for most of my youth I didn't understand what was happening — I just remember being scared all the time.There was a constant cycle of praying for the intrusive thoughts to go away, eventually giving in to them, and then praying again for forgiveness. That's where the repeated 'one more time' comes from. It wasn't about depression or suicidality; it was about trying to survive this overwhelming fear of thoughts I didn't want, and then feeling deep guilt because I believed even having those thoughts was a sin."
