Heavy Sound, Powerful Message in “Victim”

Blending downtuned guitars, aggressive grooves, and a fresh nu-metal edge, “Victim” stands out as one of Prospect Hill’s most intense and personal songs to date. The track’s confrontational theme targets the toxic blame culture of those who dodge accountability. “‘Victim’ is a call to action for anyone who makes excuses for their problems instead of taking meaningful steps to fix them,” says drummer and co-founder Mark Roberge, voicing the song’s core message. “Too many people are out there playing the victim, and it’s not a good look. The real solution is taking ownership of your struggles and making the necessary changes to rise above
them.” The band’s passion behind these lyrics is palpable, delivering both a sonic punch and a rallying cry for personal responsibility.

Back from Hiatus with New Lineup and Momentum

“Victim” arrives as the latest milestone in Prospect Hill’s triumphant return to the rock scene. After nearly a decade-long hiatus, the band made a powerful comeback in late 2024 with the Catalyst EP—a three-song release that introduced fans to Edgar Troncoso as the band’s new lead vocalist. Troncoso, formerly the group’s bassist, stepped up to the mic and brought a commanding new voice to Prospect Hill’s sound. Longtime guitarists Derek Rousseau and Johnny Roberge, along with drummer Mark Roberge, remain at the core of the lineup. The band celebrated their return with a sold-out EP release show in New England, proving that their fanbase’s enthusiasm is as fierce as ever. Building on their legacy, Prospect Hill boasts an impressive track record from their earlier years. The Boston-based quintet has shared the stage with rock heavyweights like Disturbed, Slipknot, and Breaking Benjamin, earning their stripes on national tours. They also scored a
Billboard-charting single with “Come Alive,” a breakout track that climbed into the Top 50 of the Active Rock charts and became a fan favorite. With the release of “Victim,” Prospect Hill continues a series of new singles leading up to a full-length album due later in 2025 – a clear sign that this comeback is just getting started.

Prospect Hill and their new release "Celebrate

Many remember Prospect Hill and the release that came out a year ago "Get Out" fans who have been following them know their story for the past ten or so years and this single "Celebrate" really is a gift to all of their fans. Set to celebrate living life, enjoying good times with friends, loving others, listening to music, laying poolside, hanging out at a local pub, attending a concert all the things we all love dearly! So with that Prospect Hill brings you "Celebrate".

The Massachusetts band's new single “Celebrate” was created in collaboration between Prospect Hill, writer/ producer Shaun Lichtenstein (Pop Evil, Lansdowne) , and writer Producer Jim Foster (P.O.D, Nullset) . Prospect Hill drummer Roberge was inspired to author the lyrics based on his opinion of what the world looks like through the lens of social media. The lyrics paint a picture of the vanity and the over politically charged platform that we have all grown to participate in - in one way or another. However, with everyone showing their differences of opinion and social stature, it only reveals how much we are all the same; death will come for all of us one day and that we should all take social media with a grain of salt and continue to live happy, 'celebrated' lives.

Musically, the band wanted to honor the grunge and rock sounds they all grew up on; taking influence from Nirvana, Deftones, and the like, as well as incorporating the staples of their sound that their fans have grown to love them for.

Prospect Hill feels that in these uncertain times of the pandemic, this song has never been more relevant as the increased activity on social media platforms shines an even bigger spotlight on the way we interact with one another in the digital world. Being able to step back from the noise and be happy. “Celebrate" is more important than ever and the band hopes their existing fans (and new fans to come) will find that message in the track.

The song was recorded and produced by OH NO! ØKTAPUS & Doc. D and Mixed and Mastered by Shaun Lichtenstein @ Red 13 Studios in Framingham, MA.

Prospect Hill has been a band since 2005 and have toured extensively through the US. The band signed a deal in 2012 with Carved Records (Texas Hippie Coalition, Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown) after their album Impact charted #1 at Billboard for Boston Album Sales and multiple Heatseeker Territories. Their single “ Come Alive ” (which was picked up early by SiriusXM Octane ) expected to break at Active Rock in the Top 5 with a full radio team behind it. Unfortunately, the label dropped the radio team and the single went to radio with no money or personnel support leaving it to do its thing organically. Due to the band's extensive touring and relationship building, many stations across the country added the single to rotation and the song organically climbed to #42 on the Active Rock Charts . Since the label didn't hold up their end of the deal, the band was able to pull out of the deal and go back to being independent. With a stunted single and a frustrated team, the band headed back out on the road for another two years only to come home, take a break, and limit their touring to a few dates a year and limited releases.

This new single “ Celebrate ” is the culmination of that down time, frustration, and eagerness to get the engine reignited. The band is currently writing for a new EP and will plan to tour once the pandemic is over.
