Nate Vickers Drops Brand New Track "Parasite"!

Alt rock's breakout act to watch, Nate Vickers, returns with a gripping new single, "Parasite" out now via Oxide Records. With "Parasite," Vickers dives deep to explore the darker, more vulnerable side of his signature sound. Watch the new video for "Parasite", directed by Nate, below.

Digging into the heart of "Parasite," Nate Vickers shares:

"“Parasite” is a reflection of a period in my life where I lost sight of who I was as an artist. I found myself surrounded by influences that clouded my judgment and led me away from my instincts, leaving me in a place of deep self-doubt. For a while, I wasn’t creating from a place that felt genuine. This song marks a turning point—a moment of clarity and reclamation. Writing it was part of the process of reconnecting with myself and finding the courage to trust my own voice again."

Fueled by raw emotion and unapologetic honesty, "Parasite" explores the toxic undercurrents of relationships, delivered through gut-punch lyricism paired with soaring hooks. Channeling the push and pull of toxicity and self-discovery, this track features Vickers blending gritty guitars with pain and the pursuit of healing.

Inspired by iconic bands such as Linkin Park, Incubus, and Nirvana, Nate Vickers has crafted a sound that is unmistakably his own, earning him 2 million followers across social media and praise from Sirius XM's Octane. Further fueling Vickers' rise, his previous single, "A Little Too Late", racked up an impressive 1 million streams on Pandora and more than half a million on Spotify.

Be sure to stay tuned for more Nate Vickers news coming soon.

Wolves at the Gate Announce New Album "Wasteland" + Share "Parasite" Video

Wolves at the Gate are back with a brand new album. They will release Wasteland on May 30 via Solid State Records. Pre-order it here

The band has shared the video for the first single "Parasite." Watch it below.

The song is masterful mix of synths, screams, and stompy breakdowns, so basically everything you want in a metalcore song!

"Throughout the whole album, we are exploring different concepts through the lens of a broader narrative and story," says vocalist/guitarist Steve Cobucci. "With 'Parasite,' we wanted to write a song that explores the relationship between a parasite and its host. It's such a powerful metaphor for the way that we all relate with our own weaknesses, tendencies, and sin."

He continues, "There's a sense in which we hate the way that we continue to go back down the same dark paths, but we only walk those paths because there is something we want and something that we are getting out of it. We can say that we hate it as much as we want, but there is something enticing about it. It is a song essentially about the insanity of sin. The very thing that we crave is the very thing that hates us and wants to kill us. Chasing after sin is a bottomless pit. Always promising but never satisfying."

He finishes, "The chorus line captures that idea saying, 'And I died a million deaths to live.' That's the picture that I see of my own sinfulness. I chose to dive into things that I knew would result in a million deaths thinking that it would give me life and regardless of how many times I saw how shallow and empty it was, I still chased after it. This song is a lament of a reality that I know all too well. And so I wanted to write a song that would shine a bright light on it for me to remember that sin is an empty promise that leaves you hollow in the end. The same way a parasite feeds on you until you have no life left to give."

Wolves At The Gate have quietly and naturally evolved since their emergence out of the Midwest in 2008. Their vision unfolded across albums such as Captors [2012], VxV [2014], Types & Shadows [2016], Eclipse [2019], and Eulogies [2022]. Blabbermouth rated the latter "9.0-out-of-10.0," while mxdwn summed it up as "powerfully moving." Along the way, the group tallied tens of millions of streams fueled by the likes of "Counterfeit," "Deadman," "Lowborn," "Peace That Starts The War," and more. Not to mention, they've performed alongside everyone from The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Red to Fit For A King, August Burns Red, and Born Of Osiris. In 2024, a core idea screamed out to guitarist Steve Cobucci, shaping the creative direction of the band's next evolution. It slowly, but surely seeped into the DNA of the music and his words.

"As I was working on the album and especially the lyrics, I began to realize that the Wasteland was a metaphor for a frame of mind that I don't want to live in, but a world I feel myself drawn back into over and over again," Cobucci reveals. "I hate it. It's a world of empty promises. It's a mirage. A counterfeit."

The musicians carefully pieced together what would become Wasteland. Cobucci co-produced the 13-track body of work with Josh Gilbert of Spiritbox, while the band recorded in New Jersey, San Diego, and Los Angeles. This time around, they added multiple dimensions to their signature sound, layering intriguing interludes and electronic overtures into the framework.

ABOUT ARCHETYPES COLLIDE:
ARCHETYPES COLLIDE demand repeated listening, mixing everything from Linkin Park and Bring Me The Horizon to The Chainsmokers, and Stranger Things-style retro synths, into a unique musical identity. A collection of singles and EPs drew a devoted fanbase and the attention of Oshie Bichar, bassist for Beartooth. Bichar enlisted his management, and the pair took Archetypes Collide under their wing. Soon after, SiriusXM's Octane got behind songs like "Your Misery," "Becoming What I Hate," and "Above It All." The band appeared on major festivals like Aftershock, Louder Than Life, and Welcome To Rockville, toured with genre giants The Amity Affliction, and crafted an ambitious self-titled debut album for Fearless Records. Archetypes Collide spent several weeks in the first part of 2022 making their inaugural full-length, with a super team surrounding them to execute their vision. Bichar produced alongside Nick Ingram (Dayseeker, Convictions, Hawthorne Heights) at Capital House Studio in Ohio. Additional production came from Jon Eberhard (Skillet, I Prevail, Until I Wake); The Plot In You frontman Landon Tewers lent a creative hand as well. The resulting album, mixed by Jeff Dunne (Ice Nine Kills, Wage War, Make Them Suffer), captures the vibrant spirit of the 2010s-era Warped Tour with a postmodern edge. It's a diverse but singular mission statement, brimming with authenticity and hope. ARCHETYPES COLLIDE aren't bound by preconceived notions or limitations. As single Kyle Pastor explains simply: "Why not take every shot, in every direction, under the umbrella of hard rock and metal?"

SEVENTH STUDIO ALBUM BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE OUT OCTOBER 22 VIA SPINEFARM/ SEARCH & DESTROY

PRE-ORDER HERE

Bullet For My Valentine have released "Parasite," the second single from their recently announced self-titled album Bullet For My Valentine.

Watch the video for "Parasite"

"For 'Parasite,' we just wanted to let the song rip," says director Fiona Garden. "The intensity and fury of the track tears along, pure performance and vitality. Along the way, in a world defined by blinding light and the phenomenal graphic work of artist Carl Addy, we see this new infinite incarnation of the avatar aM cuts being ritualistically infected and drawn further into limitless oblivion. No locusts were harmed in the making of this video."

The Guardian called the first single, "Knives," a "sonic onslaught," adding that it displayed "gymnastic guitar riffs, snarling vocals, and more drum hits in four minutes than across most albums." Rock Sound concurred, calling it "a vicious and violent slab of ferocious modern metal," while Metal Hammer commented, "BFMV are back in the form of their lives." Revolver deemed it a "razor-edged ripper" while Loudwire stated that the band has "more than delivered in regards to brutality and technicality."

But where "Knives" arrived like a punch in the face, "Parasite" is here to disembowel.

The band comments, "'Parasite' is an absolute RAGER from start to finish!!! Easily one of the gnarliest tracks we've ever written — we couldn't be more stoked to finally get it out there."

Bullet For My Valentine will be released on October 22 via Spinefarm /Search & Destroy.

"I think it's the most ferocious side of Bullet For My Valentine that I've ever known," says lead guitarist Michael "Padge" Paget. "It's time for us to put out a really angry, heavy, aggressive record. I just can't wait to grimace on stage!"

Frontman and guitarist Matt Tuck began writing the album in September 2019 before the Coronavirus pandemic brought things screeching to a halt in early 2020. But in June 2020, Tuck and long-time producer, Carl Bown, who co-produced the band's 2015 album, Venom, and produced and mixed Gravity, picked up the pace again. Together, they hunkered down at Treehouse Studio in Chesterfield, where the remainder of the album was written.

Bullet For My Valentine follows the success of their last album, 2018's Gravity, which saw the metal juggernauts' catalogue surpass 1 BILLION (yes, with a B!) streams in the U.S. That accomplishment solidifies Bullet's hard-earned status as one of the most elite bands in the hard rock scene.

Pre-orders for Bullet For My Valentine's seventh studio album are now live, with an instant download of both "Knives" and "Parasite," and special bundle options, including a unique clipping from the backdrop used on the bands ‘Venom' world tour from 2015 – 2017, t-shirts, hoodies, gold & silver cassettes, and limited vinyl. Get it here.

In addition to all the existing hits, fans will get the chance to hear new music live for the first time this Sunday when the band make history by headlining the Download Festival Pilot at Donington Park on June 18-20.

BFMV have launched an official fan club, dubbed "Army of Noise," via Patreon. Sign up here.

ANETTE OLZON ANNOUNCES NEW SOLO ALBUM "STRONG"

COMING SEPTEMBER 10, 2021 VIA FRONTIERS MUSIC SRL

FIRST SINGLE & VIDEO, 'PARASITE' OUT TODAY

Current The Dark Element (and ex-Nightwish) vocalist Anette Olzon is set to release her new solo album, "Strong" via Frontiers Music Srl on September 10, 2021. Today, fans can get their first listen to new music with the release of the single and video for the track 'Parasite'. Watch the video below.

Pre-order/save "Strong" on CD/LP/Digital HERE: https://orcd.co/anettestrong

“'Parasite' is a song about those who create disaster in this world with their lies, their schemes, their greed and hate. Hiding their intentions behind a respectable facade,” says Anette Olzon of the albums' first single. “Living in a world of a bit of chaos with a pandemic, crazy politics, violence, social media behavior and people venting their opinions upon others all the time is the foundation behind the idea of the lyrics for the album. Musically, I wanted a much heavier album, yet with strong melodies and took my inspiration from bands I like such as Dimmu Borgir and In Flames,” she continues.

This will be Anette's second solo album, following 2014's "Shine," and offers a harder, faster musical offering compared to the debut. More importantly, "Strong" stakes a claim for Anette’s well-deserved standing as one of the world's top female metal vocalists.

The music for "Strong" was written and composed together with acclaimed Swedish guitarist and producer Magnus Karlsson. Together, Anette and Magnus managed to create an outstanding collection of songs which showcase Anette’s enormous vocal range alongside Karlsson’s incendiary riffs. The songs are heavy, but still quite melodic and contemporary in their approach to the genre style. Additionally, "Strong" is mixed by Jacob Hansen (Pretty Maids, Volbeat, The Dark Element, etc.).

All in all, “Strong” is an album that masters the borders between heaviness and hookiness, all while showing an artist who doesn't rest on her laurels, but heads boldly into the future.

LINE-UP:

Anette Olzon - Vocals

Magnus Karlsson - Guitars

Anders Köllerfors - Drums

Johan Husgafvel – Bass
