"When I started working with our new singer, I felt the same kind of excitement I had years ago when I began creating our debut album back in 2007 and 2008. At that time, AMBERIAN DAWN were still newcomers to the band world, even though we were already experienced musicians. With Temptation's Gates, I felt that same spark of creating something new for the first time in a long while. I hadn't composed many songs yet when I began collaborating with our new vocalist. Most of the material came together surprisingly fast once I realized how easy and natural it was to work with her. I was deeply inspired by Nicole's enthusiasm, dedication, and efficiency. I truly feel that the band has been reborn with her joining us. Musically, our style has evolved once again, perhaps moving slightly back toward a heavier, more metal-driven direction. At the same time, elements of our classic sound and identity are naturally still present. In many ways, creating this album felt like going back to my roots. For the first time in a long while, I also took on a bigger role as a guitarist. Temptation's Gates is the first album I've sung on and recorded with AMBERIAN DAWN, and it has been a beautiful experience. While writing the lyrics, each song was inspired by feelings, memories, and moments that were especially prominent during the creation of the album. Writing the lyrics felt like diving into the subconscious, bringing these emotions to the surface. It was wonderful to explore the creative process of arranging the backing vocals. I especially love how AMBERIAN DAWN's music makes strong use of backing vocals, helping to create a fuller, richer sound around the lead vocals. Alongside today's announcement, they unleash the fierce album opener upon the masses. Debuting yesterday on SXM's Liquid Metal, "Dig Your Own Grave," is a vitriolic onslaught of machine gun riffs and uncompromising aggression, lyrically lambasting fools responsible for their own undesirable fates. Full of piss and vinegar, this is DEVILDRIVER at maximum ferocity, giving listeners just a taste of the unspeakable carnage waiting within Strike and Kill.

About the track, Fafara states:
"'Dig Your Own Grave' is about how one wrong decision, one wrong move can see your whole world turned upside down, effectively 'digging' your own grave… it's that simple.

"It can also refer to how your decisions can fuck someone else. This is why there's the line 'Six feet ain't deep enough for you,' because only a deep, deep hole is fitting for what you've done or tried to do to others. Be careful when you choose to make decisions at midnight."

Swedish gothic doom metal entity DRACONIAN reveal their new single, "Misantrophe River," the second offering cut from their upcoming full-length, In Somnolent Ruin, to be released on May 8 via Napalm Records. "Misantrophe River" confronts listeners in true DRACONIAN fashion with life's hardest questions, exploring feelings of alienation when swimming against the stream, and the search for direction in unfamiliar territory.

The undisputed leaders of the second wave of gothic doom metal are finally back — and they return in better shape than ever! In Somnolent Ruin promises to be one of the most personal records in DRACONIAN's discography, revealed through a dream-like journey across 9 tracks and the poetic lyricism of vocalist Anders Jacobsson. The new album also marks the return of long-time vocalist Lisa Johansson — the band's vocalist for their first five records. 

Ander Jacobsson about the new single:
"'Misanthrope River' was the first song written for this album. The initial idea goes back to the early days of Under a Godless Veil, but it remained dormant until work on this record began. It's an emotional gothic doom track- fairly minimalist, yet expansive in feel, with subtle touches that hint at post-metal and give the atmosphere a broader sense of depth. There's a suggestion of something ancient and mysterious running through it. Although interactive, at its core, the song deals with separation and isolation in a world where the larger truth has been kept from you and how those feelings slowly turn into resentment. You're pushing against the current wading upstream while doubting the way forward. In that struggle you'll be grasping at straws for any sense of peace while unintentionally shutting out the one closest to you. Shot in the Faroe Islands, the video places its actors within vast, striking landscapes. It was directed by Gaui H., the same director behind 'Cold Heavens.'"

Tracks such as "The Monochrome Blade" and "The Face of God" introduce increased tempo and eruptive vocal dynamics. "Anima" features Swedish artist Daniel Änghede, adding layers of emotional depth and confronting listeners with their darker impulses, capturing the sense of being lost and questioning one's place in the world. "Asteria Beneath the Tranquil Sea" serves as a transitional interlude between "I Gave You Wings" and "Cold Heavens", the latter exploring the delicate balance between life and death and not finding relief in any of both, while delivering the album's most intense vocal performance. "Misanthrope River" opens with an extended instrumental passage and narration by Simon Bibby, slowing the tempo but by no means reducing the emotional weight, reflecting life’s daily struggles and obstacles. The closing track, "Lethe," references the river of forgetfulness in Greek mythology. Those who drank from it would lose all memory. "Oh, shooting star… Drown in me! Drink. Forget. Repeat," mourns Jacobsson through devilish growls. And yet, In Somnolent Ruinremains a work of art one wishes not to forget — not a single blink of an eye.

LORD OF THE LOST show their emotional side and present the final video of the OPVS NOIR trilogy with the music video for their single "The Days Of Our Lives," unveiled today. With the release of OPVS NOIR Vol. 3 this Friday, April 10, the band concludes the album trilogy that began in the summer of 2025. "The Days Of Our Lives" is a soulful and seemingly hopeless ballad, situated somewhere between a soundtrack and cold electronica, and, as the closing track, serves as the curtain call for the entire work.
 
With nearly half a million listeners on Spotify, their appearance at the Eurovision final in 2023, followed by a number-one album and international tours with Iron Maiden, LORD OF THE LOST are proving themselves to be one of the most exciting and successful acts on the scene right now. OPVS NOIR Vol. 3 represents the creative peak of a band whose repertoire leaves no room for stagnation.
