Memphis May Fire Share "Misery" Video — WATCH

NEW ALBUM REMADE IN MISERY OUT NOW

MEMPHIS MAY FIRE — Matty Mullins (vocals), Kellen McGregor (guitar), Cory Elder (bass), and Jake Garland (drums) — have shared the very special video for the new single "
Misery" from last year's Remade in Misery album, out now via Rise Records. Watch it below.

"With 'Misery' being the song we named the album after, it obviously holds a lot of weight," states Mullins. "It's raw and honest, and it's the song that I felt tied the whole body of work together. The video is unlike anything we've ever done before. We shot inside of a one-of-a-kind 4D capture machine in Atlanta and it was a WILD experience. I am so stoked to give this song another push and for everyone to see the video!"

The band will also embark on a summer tour, kicking off at the end of the month and including a handful of festival dates. For the tour, Norma Jean, Secrets, and Saul will support. All dates are below. Get tickets here.

UNDERGROUND METAL DARLINGS RIKETS RETURN WITH FUTURISTIC NEW SINGLE, "MISERY"

Stream "Misery" HERE

In 2010 the Rikets world collapsed as vocalist Scott Rose's health had suddenly took a turn for the worse, and he eventually "took his ball and went home".

Initially penned in 2014, the concept of "Misery" was born and then left to sit on a hard drive, unmixed and left in oblivion. Fast forward to 2020, losing family and friends during the pandemic, Scott felt it was time to fire up the writing machine and deliver the goods once again.
Going thru the pandemic as a frontliner, Rose had become increasingly pissed off, and one phone call with good friend Nic Bell inspired Rose to team up and get back in the studio along with Ben Schigel (Spider Studios) yet again. They re-recorded "Misery" to its final state, as well as the base skeletons for 5 more songs slated to be released thru Godsize Records.

With "Misery" being the first piece of metal music Scott had written in 10 years, he felt there was more to say and more creative doors needed to be opened.

"'Misery' is a journey into chaos and love lost coupled with a creepy sci-fi tale of how man and machine are fused together in bastard form," says Rose. "The transhumanism agenda is ruining our society"

The lyric "I am just bile, wires and disgust", is not far off from Rose's everyday reality, as he is constantly hooked into IV machines, and has been brought back to life not once, but multiple times now.

On December 2nd 2022, "Misery" will finally see the light of day, as Rikets prepares for more blistering single releases leading up to a fire breathing new E.P., ironically titled Tales from the Construct Alpha.

Join us as Rikets embarks on a new chapter of dark synthwave, fused with Alt-metal, which is right in line with the bands signature sound.. The All American Death Cult once again has re-emerged, with explosive new material set to infect the masses in 2023.

Dark Station released the re-imagined version of their single "Misery" to all major platforms today. This version of the single will be included on their upcoming 5-song EP titled Afterlight that features re-imagined songs from their previous album Down in the Dark.

"Nathan wrote this song about the relationship between Harley Quinn and The Joker, but I think anyone who has been in a toxic relationship will identify with the lyrics. Instrumentally, we put everything together with Jeremy and Brandon Wolfe at Wolfe Studios. I really love how this version of the song turned out. I think it shows a different side of the band and I think a lot of people will appreciate that" says Kyle Ort, the band's guitarist.

He adds, "We wanted the video to feel like a live performance, almost like the viewer was in the room with us, so we did the entire video in 2 shots with minimal editing. The film location was Big Bear, California and I remember the temperature dropped to around 20 degrees while we were filming the outside shot. I could barely feel my hands as I was playing guitar. It definitely wasn't an ideal situation, but we did it!"

"MISERY" Official Music Video:

In the spring of 2018, five Southern California musicians came together, leaving their respective projects behind, to form a new band. A band with the ability to seamlessly transition from crushingly heavy riffs to unforgettably haunting melodies and lyrics. With inspiration drawing from the top late 90's and early 00's rock bands, there's a certain familiarity to the music that's refreshing and yet evolved into what can only be described as Dark Station. With rock on the rise, Dark Station has risen to the challenge of aiding in rock's revival.

This is the new age. This is Dark Station.

Dark Station is:
Nathan Spades- Vocals
Kyle Ort- Guitar
David Bruno- Guitar
Eric Sinful- Bass
Dylan Roy- Drums

UK Alt-Metal Unit VEXED Releases Exciting New Single + Music Video, “Misery”

Vicious Debut Album, Culling Culture, out May 21, 2021

Pre-Order NOW

“This is a must watch band of 2021.”

- KNOTFEST (US) -

“VEXED are a brute prog-deathcore hybrid that flattens everything - somewhere between Meshuggah, Periphery and Thy Art Is Murder. Fresh, emotional and extreme in every respect!”

- EMP (GER) -

“... a volatile and exciting prospect on the UK metal scene"

- ROCK SOUND (UK) -

“Anger and disgust may be the most relatable human emotion on the Earth right now, which VEXED bottled, distilled and consumed undiluted at casket strength potency..."

- LOUDWIRE (US) -

Fast-rising UK based upstarts VEXED have been checking off boxes as the next big name in aggressive-yet-progressive modern metal, and have just released one of their most ruthless offerings yet: the gut-punching, absorbing third single “Misery”. The standout single is cut from the band’s upcoming album, Culling Culture, out May 21 via Napalm Records.

On their third offering, the four-piece fluctuates between grooving, ethereal leads and destructive, airtight riffs, technically adept drumming and vocalist Megan Targett’s undeniably dynamic, haunting vocal power. As their new music video clearly refers to absolution via its striking visual content, the track’s lyrics reflect a reckoning with the past, mirroring the intensely personal themes of the upcoming album.

VEXED on the new single:

“Anxiety is a demon powerful enough to posses anyone and can leave the strongest of us feeling helpless. “Misery” is an inner monologue of an anxiety riddled mind constantly overanalysing and catastrophising. Taking inspiration from a spectrum of genres, this track is a true musical representation of how drastically our thoughts can change from one moment to the next, often ending in confusion and “Misery”.”

Pre-Order VEXED’s debut album Culling Culture NOW!

Facing very personal experiences, Culling Culture is a tribute to hate, betrayal and anger, whilst also reflecting post-modern society with strikingly honest songwriting and heavy groove. Moreover, for as confident as they are musically, VEXED is as poignant lyrically. The title of the album, Culling Culture, and portions of its contents deliver the band’s unfiltered response to the world’s latest social phenomena of public ostracism, “cancel culture”.

Unrelenting lead vocalist Megan Targett’s vicious vocal assault blending venomously low growls, soaring cleans and razor-sharp rap-like deliveries (see “Fake” and “Weaponise”) is backed by the pure technical proficiency of bandmates Willem Mason-Geraghty (drums), Jay Bacon (guitar) and Al Harper (bass). The warning instrumental “Ignorant” prefaces the record’s menacing atmosphere and provides a flawless basis for smashing wake up call “Hideous” and fiery, threatening tracks “Fake” and “Narcissist”. Ghostly “Aurora” and disrespectfully heavy album-closer “Lazarus” showcase Targett’s multi-faceted clean vocal delivery while clashing otherworldly auras with resonating, melodic rhythms. “Epiphany” blends both, offering a bold message of moving past self-loathing, while superciliously weighty offering “Weaponise” seethes between violent hatred and ambient darkness.

Culling Culture will be available in the following formats:

-1-CD Digipak

-1-LP Gatefold Vinyl BLACK

-1-LP Gatefold Vinyl ORANGE TRANSPARENT (strictly limited to 100 copies)

-Digital Album

[1-LP Gatefold Vinyl ORANGE TRANSPARENT (strictly limited to 100 copies)]

Megan Targett - vocals

Jay Bacon - guitar

Willem Mason-Geraghty - drums

Al Harper - bass
