Blake Shelton Launches Residency At The Colosseum At Caesars Palace

Last night, country music superstar Blake Shelton launched his first Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace to a sold-out crowd. Blake Shelton: Live in Las Vegas has limited tickets available for the remaining five shows, Feb. 7, 8, 12, 14 and 15, and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com/BlakeSheltonVegas.

“This is a big deal for me,” said Shelton, dressed in a custom-made black corduroy shirt, BSxLE jeans, and Tony Lama grand caiman boots. “This is the opening night of my first residency ever. I’ve been coming to Las Vegas for a long time, so I know what my job is here tonight. We’re here to make memories.”

Fans in attendance for opening night were treated to a 20-plus song set featuring some of Shelton’s biggest hits, including “Sangria,” “Honey Bee,” “Ol’ Red,” “God’s Country” and “Boys ‘Round Here.” Shelton kicked off the show with his 29th and most recent No. 1 single, “Pour Me A Drink.”

“I am excited to finally be in Vegas, bringing the honky tonk to Sin City!” Shelton said. “We have a lot of fun ahead of us here at The Colosseum the next two weeks.”

Shelton also performed his brand new single “Texas.” Already Top 10, the song gives a nod to the King of Country Music, George Strait. Appropriately enough,  Shelton followed the song with Strait’s classic, “All My Ex’s Live In Texas.”

He brought more classic country to the stage with Alabama’s No. 1 hit, “Mountain Music.” Shelton recently honored the iconic group with a performance at CMT Giants: Alabama and on stage at the BMI Awards in Nashville in November.

Shelton closed out the extraordinary night with his signature hit, “God Gave Me You.” Blake Shelton: Live In Las Vegasreturns Friday and Saturday night and then closes with a three-night stand Feb 12, 14 and 15.

Ian Munsick's 'White Buffalo: Voices of the West' Documentary Premieres to Intimate Crowd in Las Vegas

Wyoming native Ian Munsick premiered his documentary White Buffalo: Voices of the West, in Las Vegas to an intimate crowd of 150 attendees on Wednesday, Dec. 6. The documentary will be available to the public in early 2024, with more details to come soon.

The film spanned nearly an hour and expanded on the concept of Munsick's sophomore album White Buffalo, with the white buffalo representing a sacred symbol for the plains tribes of Native America, its return signaling prosperity and rebirth. Delving into conversations with Pro Buckin’ Horse producer and entrepreneur from the Blackfoot Tribe, Dougie Hall; rancher, horse trainer and actor from the Crow Tribe, Stephen Yellowtail; and cowgirl from the Blackfeet Nation, Sammy Jo Bird; Munsick explored the modern-day relationship between cowboys, ranchers and Native American tribes, and how they often rely on each other to live off the land out west.

Following the premiere screening, the cast was joined by Cam Mackey, director/cinematographer from the Tohono O'Odham Nation and executive producer Caroline Munsick, for a panel discussion moderated by film, television actor and enrolled member of the Lakota Nations, Mo Brings Plenty. The 30-minute conversation highlighted the importance of sharing Native and Western experiences from those who live them in order to shed an authentic light on the culture.

The 18-track album spans unfiltered tales of romance and ranch life, hard-working anthems with honkytonk hooks and mountain-time odes to family and forever-young fun. It builds upon the spacious roots-pop beauty he introduced on his major label debut, Coyote Cry. Over the past three years, the 30-year-old has accumulated over half a BILLION global streams and a host of accolades. He has been named an “Artist to Watch” by Spotify, CMT, Fender, MusicRow and more. A seasoned entertainer, having grown up tending cattle by day and playing music in a family band each night, Munsick toured recently alongside country music superstars Morgan Wallen and Cody Johnson, and will serve as direct support for select dates of Lainey Wilson’s Country’s Cool Again tour in 2024. Beyond his noteworthy professional accomplishments, he has also become both a husband and a father. Now the Warner Music Nashville recording artist and multi-instrumentalist is representing his home, and its special cast of people, like never before. The first release from White Buffalo, standout duet “Long Live Cowgirls” (with Cody Johnson), hit No. 1 on SiriusXM’s The Highway Hot 30 Countdown, was named one of Amazon Music’s Best Country Songs of 2022 and recently received RIAA Gold-certification alongside “Long Haul” off his debut album Coyote Cry; while Munsick’s solo version of “Long Live Cowgirls” impacted country radio on Oct. 23. Davis co-wrote every song on the EP except for the John Prine-inspired “Blow Up Your TV,” who Davis cites as one of his most important influences on his life and music. The EP features country superstar Luke Bryan, who lends his vocals on the vulnerable title track and centerpiece of the EP. Davis earned four ACM nominations for the upcoming awards show including nods for Single of the Year, Song of the Year and Music Event of the Year with his fourth No. 1 Platinum-selling single, “Buy Dirt.” With “Buy Dirt,” Davis also received his first ever CMA nomination for Musical Event of the Year. Davis has performed on ABC’s “Good Morning America” and “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” NBC’s “TODAY,” “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and “Late Night with Seth Meyers” and more. Davis has toured with Kane Brown, Dierks Bentley, Rascal Flatts, Jake Owen, Kip Moore, Old Dominion and more. This spring, he hits the road for the second leg of his Buy Dirt Tour including his headlining debut at the famed Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

Las Vegas act Velvet Chains launches debut album Icarus

Las Vegas group leads a new generation of American hard rock

The first single “Tattooed” was highlighted in the media by the special guest appearance of Guns N’ Roses guitarist Richard Fortus. The song received an impressing music video, directed by the experienced Dean Karr, who worked with music giants such as Ozzy Osbourne, Velvet Revolver and Iron Maiden. The second single, “Strangelove”, kept the audience's attention, and both tracks got more than 150,000 streams in just a few days.

The album also features guest appearances by Jeff Rouse (bass) and Mike Squires (guitar), both from Duff McKagan's LOADED, on the catchy “Pass the Disease” which also have a beautiful lyric video.

“Icarus” is an intimate and emotional album, written in partnership with multi-platinum composer Drew Lawrence. Recording took place in Las Vegas and Seattle, sound engineering work was carried out by Greg Williamson, while Tristan Hardin did the mixing and mastering.

From Las Vegas to the World

The band Velvet Chains was formed in the American city of Las Vegas in 2018, and “Icarus” is their first album.

The group's musical proposal placed them as one of the highlights of the new generation of American hard rock, by uniting breathtaking tempos, a solid rhythmic section and catchy melodies, the kind that stick in your head.

Guided by what was best done in the grunge and hard rock of the 90s and 00s, Velvet Chains has as reference groups such as Guns N 'Roses, Alice in Chains, and Pearl Jam, among many others from different styles, whose elements are condensed to create a unique and characteristic sound of the style that changed the way young people listen to rock music.

The lyrical content along with the musical quality is another important factor for Velvet Chains: "Our goal was to write songs with important lyrics while covering different genres within Rock from the 90s to the 00s. You will find a bit of heavy rock, a bit of grunge, a bit of alternative rock, and much more on this album”, explains Nils, founder of the band.

Line-up:
Jerry Quinlan: lead singer and rhythm guitar
Laurent Cassiano: lead guitar and back vocal
Noelle Schertzer: drum
Nils Goldschmidt: bass

About SPONGE:

Sponge has proven to be one of the Motor City's heaviest hitters after gaining international notoriety with their debut album "Rotting Piñata” (Sony). Emerging from Detroit with hits like "Plowed" and "Molly (16 Candles)," Sponge received massive airplay on radio stations from coast to coast and were in heavy rotation on MTV. Both “Plowed” and “Molly” hit #5 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Charts, catapulting “Rotting Piñata” to Gold, and ultimately Platinum status.

Sponge's follow up album, the critically lauded “Wax Ecstatic” (Columbia) scored additional top ten Billboard hits including "Wax Ecstatic" and "Have You Seen Mary?" The band’s music was also featured in popular movies “The Craft,” “Chasing Amy,” “Mall Rats,” and “Empire Records.” Sponge’s star continued to rise with network appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman and the Conan O’Brien Show.

Sponge’s subsequent releases “New Pop Sunday,” “For All The Drugs in The World,” “The Man,” “Galore Galore,” and “Destroy the Boy ” showcased the band’s swirling sonic attack rooted in 70's glam, and of course, the Motor City influences of The Stooges, The MC5, and Motown—but still sounding distinctly like no one else.

“Plowed” continues to be the band’s signature rock track, having been spotlighted on Guitar Hero’s “Warriors of Rock – 90’s Rock Track Pack” – and on the Paper Jamz Guitar Series 2, in addition to the soundtrack for the Gerard Butler surf movie “Chasing Mavericks.”
