Greyhaven Drop "Where the Light Leaves Us" Visualizer

GREYHAVEN — Brent Mills [vocals], Nick Spencer [guitar], Johnny Muench[bass], and Ethan Spray [drums] — will release their new album, Keep It Quiet, on October 10 via Solid State. Pre-order the record, produced by Will Putney, here. 

The Louisville band shares the visualizer for the new single "Where the Light Leaves Us."

"Last year was a bit of a struggle for me," says Mills. "I dealt with a lot of things, and I was dealing with them poorly. It's a conversation I was having with myself. I'm saying, 'You've got to dial it back. It's not going in the right direction.' The moment we wrote it in the basement, I knew it was special.”

This fall, Greyhaven will tour the UK and Europe with Better Lovers from September 24 through October 29. Dates are here. The band will also embark on a headline tour of the U.S. in November and December. Those dates are below.

ABOUT GREYHAVEN:
Greyhaven tap into the sound of truths unleashed — messy in its disjointed and extreme edges, magnetic in its  melodies, and massive in its emotional outpour. The group has remained a singular presence since their 2013 arrival. Tallying millions of streams, they naturally progressed over the course of Empty Black[2018], This Bright and Beautiful World [2022], and the Stereo Grief EP [2024]. The band incited tastemaker applause from Brooklyn Vegan, New Noise Magazine, OnesToWatch, Revolver, and Outburn, who highlighted their "tight, polished sound with the energy of the band’s camaraderie shining through." They've toured with the likes of Silverstein, The Devil Wears Prada, Better Lovers, and more. The Louisville, KY band sonically and personally lay everything on the table with their third full-length album, Keep It Quiet [Solid State Records]. Throughout 2024, the musicians constructed what would become the album, collaborating with producer Will Putney [Body Count, Knocked Loose Bad Omens]. Greyhaven Sign to Solid State, Announce "Stereo Grief" EP+ Share "The Welcome Party" — WATCH

Today, the band is sharing the video for the single "The Welcome Party." Watch it below. 

It's a rager with lots of forward-thinking, noodly riffs, and sonic twists and turns that will leave your head spinning in the best possible way.

"It's a classic Greyhaven song, but I think we've figured out what that means and how to do that the best way possible, while still exploring new things," says Mills about "The Welcome Party." He continues, "This is the first time I've tried to tackle a central concept throughout a release. This song, and the EP as a whole, really deal with framing life and death...If these songs can build a house, this is the first knock at the front door."

Further expanding on the EP, which takes inspiration from the classic short story And He Built A Crooked House by Robert A. Heinlein, Mills states,"The EP is a loose story of someone navigating existential fear relating to all life and all death on a grand scale through a multi-dimensional lens. I was inspired by a short story I read while we were tracking that sort of serves as a backdrop for what's going on in the lyrics. Overall, I feel like this is the best material we've written so far and it's only hinting at where we're going. We couldn't be more excited to release it with a new team behind us."

 
He continues, "On the EP, this character is traveling through a house where he watches all of these versions of himself. He experiences good and bad moments as well as regret. I struggle with a lot of anxiety and depression. I'm always thinking, 'I wish I could've done that differently.' By looking through the lens of a person who has access to every variation of life, the project is a way to process a really depressive episode. It leads to acceptance though." 

Greyhaven have magnified the scope of heavy music since emerging in 2013. The group transfixed audiences with Empty Black [2018] and This Bright and Beautiful World [2022], gathering streams in the tens of millions. Beyond praise from Revolver, KERRANG!, and more, New Noise Magazine professed, "Greyhaven have proven themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the post-hardcore and the heavy music scene at large with their latest release," and Blabbermouth applauded how "musicianship and eloquence are apparent." Throughout 2023, they assembled what would become Stereo Grief with producer Will Putney [Body Count, Norma Jean, Every Time I Die].

HEADLINE TOUR KICKS OFF ON FEBRUARY 3

Norma Jean have dropped the video for "1994." It's comprised of footage spanning the entirety of their career. Watch it below.

The song lives on their ninth album Deathrattle Sing For Me, out now via Solid State Records. Get it here.

"If you film your band for 20+ years and never do anything with it, you end up with a box full of VHS and hi-8 tapes like what happened to me," says singer Cory Brandan. "Instead of making that expensive documentary you were always hoping to make, just make a three- minute music video instead."

Norma Jean will also hit the road on a headline tour with Fire From the Gods and Greyhaven as support. All dates are below.
