Morgan Wallen Foundation & Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation Donate $500k Worth of Instruments To Schools In Touring Cities

For the past two years, Morgan Wallen has donated three dollars from every U.S. ticket sold on his 87-show One Night At A Time World Tour to his non-profit, Morgan Wallen Foundation (MWF). Supporting programs for youth in the areas of music and sports, MWF further expanded their local impact during the U.S. tour’s 2024 leg with their “One Instrument At A Time” initiative, in partnership with Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation (MHOF).

MWF committed to donating musical instruments to schools in need across 14 stadium touring cities Wallen visited this year (2024) on his One Night At A Time Tour, including Arlington, Texas; Charlotte, N.C.; Denver, Colo.; East Rutherford, N.J.; Hershey, Pa.; Indianapolis, Ind.; Kansas City, Mo.; Las Vegas, Nev.; Minneapolis, Minn.; Nashville, Tenn.; Oxford, Miss.; Philadelphia, Pa; Tampa, Fla. and Virginia Beach, Va. In total, the value of the instrument donations is $500,000.

"When I was a kid, access to music profoundly changed my life and gave me a sense of purpose. I want that for others, and I'm blessed to be able to provide instruments to these schools through my foundation,” shares Wallen. “We really wanted to say a big thank you to these awesome communities that welcome us in and let us play for our fans.”

With a core belief that all children deserve a chance to thrive, play and create through sports and music, the MWF supports programs for youth in these two areas – sports and music. It’s this mission that made the partnership with Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to changing the lives of kids by giving them access to learn and play music in school via the donations of high-quality musical instruments, a natural fit.

"Giving back is an integral part of who Morgan is and how he was raised. So launching ‘One Instrument At A Time’ in conjunction with this tour was incredibly important,” adds Kathleen Flaherty, executive director of the Morgan Wallen Foundation. “Partnering with Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation enabled us to utilize their expertise in securing quality instruments and identifying schools in local communities that need them the most. In turn, we hope to impact the lives of kids by giving them access to learn and play music, which is what set the stage for Morgan’s life.”

"Music education plays a crucial role in shaping the development of young minds, nurturing their artistic expression, and instilling a lifelong passion for music. We are grateful to the Morgan Wallen Foundation for their dedication to enhancing music education in our schools,” shares Tricia Williams, President and CEO at Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation. “Their generosity will make a profound difference in the lives of students, empowering them to unleash their potential and pursue their dreams.”

Last month, MWF donated $500,000 to the American Red Cross to aid with efforts following the devastation of Hurricane Helene and $140,000 to Gibbs Youth Sports to coincide with Wallen’s record-breaking homecoming double-header at University of Tennessee Knoxville’s Neyland stadium. In 2023, Wallen’s foundation focused heavily on revitalizing baseball parks in touring cities, with donations to Chicago Cubs Charities, Atlanta Braves Foundation, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville and Boston Red Sox Foundation.

Hellfest Donates 1 Million Euro to Savage Lands

Savage Lands are still buzzing after their performance on the main stage at Hellfest. Today, the musician-run 501(c) 3 non-profit is thrilled to announce that the festival is donating one million Euro to support their ongoing reforestation efforts in Costa Rica and Europe!

"This is a historical move by Hellfest and a great signal to the music industry", says musician-turned-activist Sylvain Demercastel, who founded Savage Lands with Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren. "Such an extraordinarily generous donation from a renowned festival is just another example of the many ways that the metal community supports each other".

Hellfest's donation is just one part of a five-year partnership. Savage Lands will continue to host a booth on the festival grounds. This year, Bill Hudson (I Am Morbid), members of Dimmu Borgir and other metalheads stopped by their booth to learn more about the green zones, nature sanctuaries and other biodiversity preservation projects that they are building in Costa Rica. The non-profit has protected 60,000 square feet of rain forest using 100% of the royalties from their music.

"As a non-profit, we depend on the support of our listeners, other organizations and fellow artists", Sylvain says.

Many of their famous friends showed up to support Savage Lands at Hellfest. Sylvain was backed by familiar faces in Florian Pons (Loco Muerte) and Poun and Etienne Treton (Black Bomb A). Andreas Kisser (Sepultura) and Daniel de Jongh (Textures) joined for their entire set, which kicked off with "The Last Howl", a fitting tribute to the endangered howler monkey. Chloe Trujillio hopped on for the blackened groove of "Black Rock Heart", followed by Silje Wergeland (The Gathering) who sang along to the band's new melancholic single "No Remedy".

Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy) and Sakis Tolis (Rotting Christ) pledged their support via video. So did Maria Franz from Heilung, who are also partnering with Savage Lands. The Nordic collective are donating $1 for every ticket sold on their US tour to support the non-profit's reforestation efforts.

As if that wasn't enough starpower, for their grand finale, Savage Lands brought out Jesper Liveröd (Nasum) Alejandro Montoya (Cultura tres) Billy Graziadei (Biohazard) and Shane Embury (Napalm Death) for a bloody, screaming rendition of "Roots".

"I've known Andreas for such a long time," says Shane Embury. "It was great sharing the stage with him and all of these wonderful musicians. Meeting and becoming friends with Sylvain and the rest of his band was a beautiful experience.

"Making true creative connections like this is so important" Shane continues. "That's a big part of what draws me to Savage Lands. We are connected with every living thing on this planet and their organization is helping to preserve nature's treasures. I'm happy to be a part of such a truly important cause".

Some of the artists who performed with Savage Lands at Hellfest have already committed to working on their upcoming album, which will be released by Season of Mist. In the meantime, Sylvain and Dirk are still looking for more festivals and other prominent members of the metal community to join the army of trees.

"Our goals are attainable" Sylvain says. "By converting the land that we purchase into nature sanctuaries, Savage Lands will help set a precedent for environmental activism. But we must act quickly. Ecosystems are still under attack. If we don't, then there won't be any wildlife left to save".

Just listening to their music helps support Savage Lands. 100% of their song royalties fund the non-profit’s preservation efforts in Costa Rica.

Donations can also be made at https://savagelands.org/donation/

Artists occasionally support causes through donations to organizations. With SAVAGE LANDS, Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren teamed up with his guitar-wielding friend Sylvain Demercastel to create their own US 501(c)3 non-profit.

Savage Lands raises money for reforestation and the creation of sanctuaries free of human destruction in Costa Rica. Using their own royalties, donations and other fundraising efforts, the organization builds nature sanctuaries, establishes green zones and other land preservation projects. They partner with other non-profits, scientists and forest engineers, as well as Decibel Magazine and Season of Mist.

"If you want to make a difference, take action! Our greatest hope with Savage Lands is that it will inspire you to join us, and if you can, to start your own initiative to help preserve animals, forests, and our planet", says Dirk.

In this case, each NFT is paired with a signed, collector’s edition, colored vinyl album, which has a hash leading back to the NFT. The original art will go to one of the NFT holders in a random drawing. We invite you to check out the art and the story being told. Sign up for FREE entries in the auction and for other great prizes or make a tax-deductible bid. You can join the auction and promotion here: dCommunity Charity Auction

1 1/2 years into the war, Jah Wobble and The Ukrainians' ‘Ukrainian National Anthem in Dub’ (feat. Jon Klein) grooves in relevance

Music icon Jah Wobble and legendary British folk-punk outfit The Ukrainians have released the 'Ukrainian National Anthem In Dub', a truly unique and inspired version of the war-torn country's hymn, flavoured with Wobble's trademark dub sound. This project grew out of the desire to raise funds, as well as support and awareness for refugees fleeing the continuing conflict in Ukraine.

Produced, recorded, arranged and mixed by original Public Image Ltd. bassist Jah Wobble and former Siouxsie and The Banshees’ guitarist
Jon Klein, the idea for the song emerged when Wobble’s bass tech suggested he do a collaboration with The Ukrainians, long-time purveyors of traditional Ukrainian music, heavily influenced by western post-punk.

The Ukrainians formed in 1990 following the success of the Wedding Present's 1989 Ukrainian John Peel Sessions (Ukrayinski Vystupy v Johna Peela), in which 3 of its members (Peter Solowka, Len Liggins and Roman Remeynes) took part. The first Western band to produce a video entirely in Eastern Europe in 1991, they've since released five studio albums, in addition to various live albums and EPs,

The band's current line-up is Len Liggins (lead vocal / violin), Peter Solowka(acoustic guitar / backing vocal), Paul Weatherhead (backing vocal / mandolin) and Stephen Tymruk (accordion).

Sales proceeds from the
‘Ukrainian National Anthem In Dub’ will be donated to two key charities that are aiding Ukrainian refugees forced to flee their homes. Namely, funds will go towards the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal and the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB) Help Ukraine Emergency Appeal.

Jah Wobble explains, “I was introduced to Len from the Ukrainians by Mark my bass tech. I was very keen to help in any way that I could.  So I enlisted the help of Jon Klein and Anthony Hopkins, who I run ‘Tuned in’ with. It’s a community music project based in the London Borough of Merton. We have built a recording studio there. Indeed, at the moment, Anthony is involved in the process of the settlement of Ukrainian refugees coming in to the borough. It was a lot of fun putting the track together. And well done to Len and the rest of the band for initiating this."

"We'd like to say a big thank you to Jah Wobble and Jon Klein for creating this fabulous track with us in order to raise much needed funds for Ukrainian refugees. Monies collected will buy provisions, medical aid and clothing for traumatised individuals and families whose situation is desperate beyond our understanding here in western Europe," says The Ukrainians' Len Liggins.

"It's important for us all to keep in mind too, that as reports of the invasion's progress slip down the priority list on the national news, a great deal of support will still be needed by these refugees on an ongoing basis. Please don't forget them just because you see less of them on your screens. Please continue to support them. The mass murders, cruel rapes and wanton destruction of Ukraine will continue while the TV cameras are pointing somewhere else."

‘Ukrainian National Anthem in Dub’ is available directly from the artists via
Bandcamp (the quickest way to ensure timely support to Ukraine) and can also be found on other platforms at https://ffm.to/jahwobbleukrainians.

LYRICS
Ukraine's glory has not perished, nor her freedom gone
Our strong people, once again, fate will smile upon
All our enemies will soon disappear like dew in the sun
Then, once more will we be free, in the land we call our own
Body and soul we will lay down for our freedom
And the world will know that we are people of the Kozak nation

Side-Line-Magazine releases whopping 88-track 'Electronic Bodies' compilation in aid of Ukraine

Side-Line Magazine has launched a brand new charity compilation, called 'Electronic Bodies', including 88 tracks from the electronic / EBM underground. Now available exclusively via Bandcamp, this epic collection follows a tradition of music compilations aimed at raising funds for worthy causes, facilitated by the Belgian electro industrial magazine Side-Line.

Active since 1989 as a magazine with a focus on electro and industrial music, Side-Line also releases free compilations for darkwave, postpunk, electropop, synthpop and industrial music, offering artists a platform for wider exposure and spearheading charity initiatives. Their most recent compilations include
'Electronic Resistance - A Darkwave / Post-Punk Compilation From The Ukrainian Underground' and 'Electronic Resistance - Reconstruction'.

Curated by Side-Line's Chief Editor
Bernard Van Isacker, this compilation is a tale of two halves: the first immerses you in old-school vibes, while the latter offered the bands some extra freedom as far as sound is concerned. This time around, all donations will go towards the provision of psychological support for Ukraine soldiers and citizens suffering from PTSD.

Diving deep into the rhythms of EBM (Electronic Body Music), New Beat, and their contemporary offshoots, this compilation features artists from countries spanning from Germany to Australia, the United States to Estonia, and many more. It's clear that EBM still resonates worldwide and this after the genre was established more than 40 years ago!

"I recently came across an article detailing the psychological toll of the war initiated by Russia against Ukraine. The repercussions are devastating, with families torn apart and a surge in divorces and suicides. Many are grappling with PTSD, a condition that arises after experiencing traumatic events. Symptoms disrupt daily life, manifesting as flashbacks, avoidance behaviours, and a host of other issues. If we’re in a position to assist, we should," says Bernard Van Isacker.

"While it’s undeniably sombre, it’s essential to recognise our privileged position compared to their plight. Rather than symbolic gestures, I advocate for tangible action. The West should be doing more. The disparity between resources squandered on frivolities and the valiant efforts of the Ukrainian populace defending their homeland infuriates me."

The magazine’s commitment to showcasing a blend of emerging talents and seasoned bands remains unwavering. After all, Side-Line is a platform to launch new talents. While not every artist boasts high-end studio equipment, some of these tracks have been masterfully enhanced by Erlend Eilertsen (Lights A.M, Essence Of Mind).

Offering a tangible connection to the music, the magazine offers an exclusive
'Electronic Bodies' T-shirt and, in true EBM spirit, a combo packagethat includes a limited edition hand-numbered Electronic Bodies flask. Each merch order includes a download of the compilation, ensuring that the beats never stop. Shipping takes places in the first week of October and placing orders as soon as possible allows SideLine to know what amount of stock needs to be order.

'Electronic Bodies' is out now, along with related merch. Available by donation, find it

Miranda Lambert's MuttNation Foundation Helps Provide 2 Million Pet Meals To Keep Families and Pets Together

Reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation Foundation is helping to provide 2 million pet meals to help families who are facing economic hardships stay together with their pets. The donation of pet meals is in partnership with Greater Good Charities via the global nonprofit’s GOODS Program.

“During times of crisis, it’s important to keep families and their pets together,” said Lambert. “We are proud to partner with Greater Good Charities and hope our GOODS Program donation will help families and their pets stay united in their homes during these challenging times.”

The GOODS Program operates on a hub and spoke model, delivering product to pre-vetted and trained Ambassador groups who then distribute the product to local end recipient groups in need. This donation will be delivered to more than 30 GOODS Ambassadors with pet food pantries in over 30 cities to assist families in need. The GOODS Program works to help 9,000+ animal welfare organizations across the nation that provide this essential service to their communities. In addition to helping homeless pets, the GOODS Program helps families facing economic hardships, homeless populations, veterans, domestic violence survivors and victims of disaster through thousands of additional charitable partners. To learn more about Greater Good Charities, please visit www.greatergood.org.

The donation marks the latest in ongoing charitable contributions from MuttNation. In August, the Foundation also provided financial support to more than a dozen animal shelters that took in nearly 4,000 beagles removed from a research facility in Virginia. The Foundation’s support was earmarked to assist with medical bills to help shelters ready the beagles for adoption. The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), which has led the removal of the beagles since the Justice Department announced an agreement in July with Envigo RMS to surrender the dogs, announced on Sept. 2 that the remaining 312 dogs had been removed from the research facility.

For more information on MuttNation Foundation and to learn how you can support the cause, please visit www.MuttNation.com. For all things Miranda Lambert, please visit www.MirandaLambert.com.

Already named among the best albums of the year by TIME, Rolling Stone, Billboard, Stereogum and more, it marks the latest installment in a storied career that has spanned seven previous No. 1 solo albums, 10 No. 1 hit radio singles, more than 70 prestigious awards and countless sales certifications, earning the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year praise from NPR as “the most riveting country star of her generation.”

Set to kick off her headlining Velvet Rodeo Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino’s Zappos Theater this Friday, Sept. 23, the top streaming female Country artist of 2022 was also named to the 2022 TIME100 list honoring the world’s most influential people, with Pitchfork declaring that she “manages the hat-trick of both timelessness and timely activism.” Whether challenging conventional gender notions in her recent Top 10 hit “If I Was A Cowboy” or using her voice to write and record the inclusive “Y’All Means All” anthem for the latest season of Netflix’s “Queer Eye,” the Texas native continues to expand the tent of the Country genre via her music, including current single “Strange.”

Donations will be matched up to $25,000 October 1-21

The fifth annual “Heal The Music Day” will be October 21, 2022 and music makers across all genres are invited to join Chris & Morgan Stapleton, Lauren Daigle, Keith Urban, Rodney Crowell, Ronnie Dunn, Tina Parol, Vince Gill, Wiatr & Associates, and many more to raise awareness and funding to support Music Health Alliance (MHA). In just nine years, MHA has provided free healthcare advocacy and access to life-saving health and financial resources to more than 18,000 working music professionals nationwide and is entirely funded through individual and corporate donations and grants.

Launched in 2017, Heal The Music Day is the brainchild of Grammy-winning musician Rodney Crowell who is championing this year’s campaign with MHA in an effort to raise awareness and support for the emergency and ongoing medical needs of our country’s creative community, 76% of whom are self- employed or part of a small business, many with limited and unpredictable resources, and often uninsured or under-insured for healthcare. To participate, members of the music community — including artists, songwriters, producers, publishers, publicists, promoters, business managers, record label executives, booking agents, attorneys, venues, stylists and more — can pledge a percentage of a single day earnings or event to support MHA’s life-saving services and help their fellow music makers who are in need.

“In the world of the working musician, good health is something most of us take for granted - that is, until something goes wrong,” says Crowell. “The healthcare advocates at MHA ensure that no music professional must face a healthcare crisis alone. It is crucial to support MHA’s work to heal the music and the best part is that music makers don’t have to do anything that they are not already doing. Pledges can be as simple as a percent of a concert, event, creative work, or single donation made for Heal The Music Day October 21.”

Through personal and compassionate healthcare advocates, Music Health Alliance’s free services range from access to doctors, specialists, diagnostic testing, hospitals, medicine, health insurance, Medicare and senior care, mental health support, dental and vision resources, end of life care, and financial assistance resources during times of illness. For every $1 donated, MHA can provide $30 in healthcare support and services.

“Heal The Music Day is not only our largest fundraiser, but also an opportunity for the music industry to step up and support their fellow musicians in need. The need for our services has increased more than 65% this year over last, with mental health support growing more than 300% over the past two years. Our goal is to raise more than $300,000 this year to meet the continued increase in critical need and ensure that nobody working in the music industry will ever have to walk a health crisis alone. Heal The Music Day is a great investment into the long-term health and wellness of the music industry as a whole,” says Tatum Allsep, MHA Founder and CEO.

Pledges made for Heal The Music Day will continue the impact of MHA’s services on our country’s working musicians since 2013.

• Healthcare support for 18,000 music industry professionals served in 49 states
• 2,380 families saved from bankruptcy due to medical bills
• 28 music professionals assisted with life-saving heart, liver, kidney, and lung transplants
• More than 912,000 meals, medicine, health insurance premiums, and doctor visits provided for the most vulnerable music industry professionals during Covid relief
• $85 million in healthcare costs saved for working musicians and their families

Become a Heal The Music Day partner and make a pledge at: www.healthemusic.com. Through an anonymous matching donor, all donations made October 1-21 will be matched up to $25,000, doubling the impact of donations by music makers and music supporters alike.

Founded in 2007, German heavy metal formation KISSIN’ DYNAMITE have made more than just a name for themselves in the scene: With six studio albums and various chart entries (#7 on the GER album charts with their full-length Ecstasy in 2018), the band established their trademark style - characterized by modern sound, massive anthems and catchy hooks paired with an 80s stadium rock attitude and eccentric look. Now, the five piece is ready to release their Napalm Records debut, Not The End Of The Road, and usher in heavy metal in 2022!

The new studio album was produced, recorded and mixed by vocalist Hannes Braun (Südland Music) himself, who has also worked with bands like Santiano, The Kelly Familyand Beyond The Black. Mastering was completed by Grammy Award winning producer Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios, known for his work with bands like Volbeat and many more.

Ande Braun on the new album:

"Not The End Of The Road is an album that accurately describes our experiences as a band since Ecstasy in 2018. First and foremost, we highlight with songs like “Not The End Of The Road”, “What Goes Up”, “Yoko Ono” and “Only The Dead”: We're up for it, we're pulling together and we want to reach the rock Olympus! Titles like “Coming Home”, “Gone For Good” and “Scars”, on the other hand, deal with real feelings like loneliness, homesickness and sadness, which are also part of life."

Hannes Braun adds:

"With Ecstasy, we already didn't make any compromises and just wanted to compose music that speaks from us. Not The End Of The Road seamlessly picks up exactly here."

With Not The End Of The Road, KISSIN’ DYNAMITE set another milestone in their successful discography: In guitar-driven power metal fashion, the tune of the intro and title track “Not The End Of The Road” prepares the listener for a thrilling road trip and new anthems straight from the heart of the KISSIN’ DYNAMITE universe. Crusher “What Goes Up” takes its listener into the truly spectacular soundscapes that make stadiums shake and convinces with Aerosmith-like guitar attacks and an anthemic hook. But KISSIN’ DYNAMITEare also not afraid to show their mellower side, as heard on delightfully tranquil tracks like “Good Life” and “Gone For Good” - not only showcasing the almost calm touches pervading the melodies, but also presenting the softer side of Braun’s vocal repertoire. While tracks like “No One Dies A Virgin” and “Yoko Ono” symbolize catchy party hymns, standouts “Coming Home” and “Defeat It” underline their origins of stadium rock without being pigeonholed. “Voodoo Spell” manifests the variety of the band and their different influences - starting with strong dark rock elements, the song becomes an opus that easily competes with the biggest stadium giants. The album’s closer, “Scars”, proves once again that KISSIN’ DYNAMITE can reach the depths and showcase lyrical vulnerability - an impressive ending that screams to be played live.

Not The End Of The Road will be available in the following formats:

-CD Digipack

-LP Gatefold Vinyl Black

-LP Gatefold Vinyl White

-LP Gatefold Vinyl Glow In The Dark

-LP Gatefold Vinyl Marbled Red/Black + Slipmat

On Not The End Of The Road, KISSIN’ DYNAMITE continue the cooperation with the Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder Tübingen e.V., a charity organization that supports children with cancer in the rockers' hometown. The song “Good Life” picks up the topic perfectly. The complete proceeds of the title are to be donated to the association.

The album and the album title thus have a real meaning that touches people on several levels and has the right song ready for every personal life situation.
