Metal powerhouse Butcher Babies have announced their highly anticipated new album, NIGHTBLOOM, due out October 2nd via Judge & Jury Records. Along with the album announcement, the band has unveiled the official music video for their latest single, “Blame It on the Wind,” offering fans another preview of what promises to be one of the band’s most compelling releases yet.

A Powerhouse Production Team

NIGHTBLOOM was produced by acclaimed hitmaker Howard Benson, whose extensive credits include some of the biggest names in modern rock and metal (My Chemical Romance, Skillet, Daughtry, Halestorm, etc.). Joe Rickard, Neil Sanderson and Henry Flury served as co-producers, while Cameron Pierce Mizell and Evan McKeever provided additional production on “Songbird.”

NIGHTBLOOM showcases Butcher Babies at their most focused and dynamic, combining the band’s signature aggression with soaring melodies and a modern production that pushes their sound forward. The band continue to cement their place among modern metal’s most formidable forces. The new album captures the band’s evolution while retaining the unapologetic energy, commanding vocals, and crushing instrumentation that have defined their career.

“Blame It on the Wind”, the latest single from the album, is already gaining significant momentum at rock radio, including strong support from SiriusXM Octane, building anticipation for the full-length album’s October 2nd release.

Butcher Babies will continue their extensive 2026 world tour with a nationwide U.S. run alongside Chad Gray (Mudvayne, Hellyeah) beginning in late summer and extending into the fall. The band will also appear at Louder Than Life in Kentucky, bringing their high-energy live show to fans across the country. Butcher Babies have released their powerful new single “Blame it on the Wind,” produced by Howard Benson. This marks the fourth release from their forthcoming album via Judge & Jury Records.

The track serves as a key chapter in an album that functions as a deeply personal love letter to vocalist Heidi Shepherd’s past reflecting on the experiences, relationships, heartbreaks, and hard-earned lessons that have shaped her over the last 25 years. It’s a record rooted in self-reflection and growth, honoring where she’s been while embracing the strength and clarity of who she has become today.

“Blame It On The Wind” is a seductive hard-rock track inspired by a late-night encounter in LA. The song narrates a one-night stand, fueled by neon lights and loud music, leading to an unforgettable experience you'll want to visit for more than one night. The track shifts from a slow burn to a high-energy tempo reminiscent of In This Moment meets Jinjer. Through Heidi Shepherd’s commanding vocals, it captures the restless tug-of-war between desire and blame.

“There are certain nights, certain moments, and certain connections you never fully shake. ‘Blame It On The Wind’ came from one of those nights that should have disappeared in the morning. In 2012, what started as a one-night stand morphed into a connection that would haunt me for years. A moment that we both knew was off-limits; however, the forbidden fruit continually pulled us back into that first night. I remember it so vividly; his scent, the way he said my name, his bootcut jeans, the balcony in his Santa Monica loft, and that very first touch. This song is about a lust you can't leave, a denial of accountability, and a laundry list of excuses for following the white rabbit. I think sometimes we blame the setting for the choices we make because it’s easier than admitting someone genuinely got under our skin. That’s what this song is about for me.”

Following a massive global touring run across the United States, United Kingdom, and Europe, Butcher Babies will continue their international trek with dates in Japan this June.

Fear of Water is a one-man-band created by Dave Perry out of Austin, Texas. Born clinically deaf, the consumption & creation of music has been a critical aspect of his recovery and a central focus of Dave’s life.

The newest release by Fear of Water “One Day” is a heart-wrenching collaboration between Perry and vocal power house Heidi Shepherd of Butcher Babies. The mournful riffs and powerful cadence of "One Day" explores the profound bond formed between mother & son escaping an abusive household and then faces the inevitable loss that comes with time. Featuring additional support from Stitched Up Heart and Kaleido (on select dates), the tour will kick off at Metal In The Mountains in Pipestem, WV on August 28 and will make over a month's worth of stops in various popular markets, coming to a close in Sacramento, CA at Aftershock Festival on October 8.
