Eric Church Forever Helps Home State w/ “Darkest Hour”

To provide immediate relief following the devastation of Hurricane Helene while also providing ongoing funds to support a more resilient future for North Carolina, Eric Church announces he is signing over all of his publishing royalties for his new song to the people of North Carolina. The song, Church’s first new solo release in over three years, is titled “Darkest Hour” and is now available everywhere. Listen Below.

“From Western North Carolina, East Tennessee, Upstate South Carolina, parts of Georgia and even Florida which took a direct hit, there are so many places that were impacted. Specifically in the area that I'm from, the mountains of Western North Carolina were devastated. There are places that are just biblically gone. These are our family members, they're our friends, they're our neighbors – and they're in dire need of help,” reflects Church. “And I've been in the studio for a while, trying some different things and exploring creativity. I had this song that I'd written, and the line that struck me in light of the recent devastation was ‘I'll come running,’ because there are a lot of people out there right now who are in their darkest hour and they need people to come running. We were going to wait to release music until next year, but it just didn't feel right to wait with this song. Sometimes you give songs their moment and sometimes they find their own moment.”

“This song, ‘Darkest Hour,’ was the best way I could think to try to help. We've been helping with boots on the ground efforts, but this is something that will live beyond just the immediate recovery. This is not a quick thing to fix, so hopefully ‘Darkest Hour’ will be able to contribute to that for a long time to come. This song goes to my home, North Carolina, now and forever.”

He continues, “‘Darkest Hour’ is a song dedicated to the unsung heroes, the people who show up when the world's falling apart. This is for the folks who show up in the hardest times, offering a hand when it's most needed, and standing tall when others can't. Even in your darkest hour, they come running. When the night's at its blackest, this is for those who are holding the light, guiding the lost and pulling us through. The message of the song specifically in this time is about Hurricane Helene and the people that need help, but in a broader view, it's about any challenging times that we have in our life, which we'll all have. And it's always important to know that in your darkest hour, there are people that will come running, there are people that will help. And I think it's also important to be one of the people that go running when other people need help.”

In addition to his efforts in his home state, Church’s Chief Cares will be assisting not only in North Carolina, but in all states and communities affected from Appalachia to the Gulf.

A seven-time ACM Award winner, four-time CMA Award winner (including the highest honor for Entertainer of the Year) and 10-time GRAMMY nominee, Church has amassed a passionate fan base around the globe known as the Church Choir, plus a critically acclaimed catalog of music. This followed his Gold-certified Desperate Man, which earned a GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album (his third nod in the category) and prior releases including the Platinum-certified Sinners Like Me (“How ’Bout You,” “Guys Like Me”), Carolina (“Smoke a Little Smoke,” “Love Your Love the Most”) and Mr. Misunderstood (“Record Year,” “Round Here Buzz”), the Double-Platinum certified The Outsiders (“Like a Wrecking Ball,” “Talladega”) and the 3x Platinum-certified Chief (“Springsteen,” “Drink In My Hand”), as well as 36 Gold, Platinum and multi-Platinum certified songs. Jason Becker (And Friends, Like Nita Strauss) Share "Some Assembly Required" Video — WATCH

NITA STRAUSS + TOP GUITARISTS IN THE WORLD RALLY AROUND FELLOW LEGEND JASON BECKER TO CREATE "SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED" IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE JASON BECKER SPECIAL NEEDS TRUST

"Some Assembly Required" is a collaboration project conceptualized by Josh Villalta and Nita Strauss, combining some of the top guitarists in the world to do something incredibly special in tribute to this once-in-a-lifetime musician — Jason Becker.

Utilizing an unreleased demo of Becker's, Strauss, along with Zakk Wylde, Steve Vai, Chris Broderick, Phil Demmel, Jennifer Batten, and many more, came together, lending their hearts and souls into what's become an unforgettable, unmissable display of guitar mastery.

"Some Assembly Required" has quickly turned into a powerful display that is equal parts a six-string love-story and a call for action for us all to take a closer look at what can be done to help others suffering from the same degenerative disease that took hold of Becker.

"The original idea Josh put forward was to to work together on a song for my own album," Strauss shares. "We poured through lots of Jason's demos until we landed on this track, which was originally recorded with Gregg and Matt Bissonette. However, as the idea materialized, we realized this could be a much bigger project and more importantly, have a bigger impact to help Jason raise awareness and funds. From there, it took on a life of its own! The incredible Billy Sheehan came down to the studio and played bass, and we reached out to tons of Jason's friends and peers, from all genres and eras, and amassed an army of friends to trade solos on this track. We left Jason's original demo solo where it was, where it shines to this day alongside so many of the players that love and look up to him. We were able to send this video to Jason on Christmas Day and bring some holiday cheer to him and his family! He loved it and christened it with the name we have today — 'Some Assembly Required.'"

For an insider's look on how Becker's guitar family came together for this harrowing tribute, allow Strauss to explain in this exclusive short!

For those who may not know of Jason Becker's legacy, we'd have to travel back to 1985 when 16-year-old guitarist, Becker, partnered up with Marty Friedman as the duo Cacophony. His success at such an early age was no coincidence, his metal mastery becoming a talking point amongst his peers, going on to support some of the biggest names in rock including David Lee Roth and create some huge guitar moments as a solo artist.

As Becker's career began to blossom, Jason was diagnosed with ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease) in 1989 — at just 20 years old. As the disease progressed, Jason no longer could hold on to the instrument, but the urge to continue pushed on as he, amazingly, engineered his own way of writing music, a technique using "eye geometry" and chin movements, described further in the documentary on Becker's journey.

Head here to be fully inspired by the trailer for the film, Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet, a compilation of interviews, live footage, and more on the unbreakable spirit and the ingenious songwriting ability of the guitarist that influenced so many.

The guitar community has spoken and is asking for all of us to stand up and be an ally to Jason Becker and his family as he continues fighting this battle. There is an ongoing struggle to find a full-time caregiver, making proper help seem a hugely daunting challenge. Already saddled with the daily task of staying alive against all odds, there comes additional stress and worry for Jason and his family for all of the many out-of-pocket medical fees.

Keeping positive and consistently creating is essential for Becker, so we invite you to keep up with his latest creations through his website, www.JasonBecker.com and to visit here if you are able to donate to the Jason Becker Special Needs Trust.

A full list of guitarists and friends included in the creation of "Some Assembly Required":

Chris Broderick, Joe Bonamassa, Gus G, Paul Gilbert, Angel Vivaldi, Steve Vai, Steve Stevens, Rob Scallon, Jennifer Batten, Nili Brosh, Richie Kotzen, Marc Rizzo, Lari Basilio, Zakk Wylde, Alex Skolnick, Phil Demmel, NITA STRAUSS, Jason Becker, Marty Friedman, Herman Li, Steve Lukather, Jared Dines.

Music Knox Records/BBR Music Group recording artist Tim Montana's inaugural American Thread benefit concert, held October 2 at Nashville's City Winery, can be stamped as 'Mission Accomplished.'  The SOLD OUT special concert event (and the following day's clays shoot), benefiting Special Ops Xcursions, a nonprofit that supports U.S. special operations forces and their families, raised over $334,000 for men and women in uniform. Special surprise guest performers were Colbie CaillatCollective SoulDarryl WorleyElvie ShaneMichael Ray and Tyler Farr.

The event also featured guest speaker Sgt. Omar "Crispy" Avila, a war hero and U.S. Army vet. Action sports legend Travis Pastrana and his sidekick, Street Bike Tommy(both of Nitro Circus fame), were also in attendance.

For the past three years, Montana has headed up the American Thread Sporting Clays Shoot in Nashville, drawing celebs who lent their time to help our nation's military heroes. This year, Montana continued that tradition with the fourth annual Tim Montana & Friends American Thread Sporting Clays Shoot, held the day following the concert at the Nashville Gun Club. After this week's events – four years since the clays shoot's inception – Montana has officially raised over 1.1 million dollars for Special Ops Xcursions.

"This year’s event was our biggest yet," says Montana. "From the artists that volunteered their time and talents, to the sponsors that made this possible, I’m so incredibly proud of what we’re doing for the veteran and active duty military community. Thank you Trevor Pardue, Scott Graves and all of our board members for your tireless work. Breaking a million dollars in just four years is no easy feat and we’re just getting started."

Montana plans to continue his American Thread events for years to come.

About Tim Montana
For as much as Tim Montana may be known as a wild man (and he certainly is), he really asserts himself as a tried-and-true storyteller. His story has twisted and turned with the unforgiving unpredictability of a Montana winter. He went from a rough youth spent off-the-grid in a trailer powered by a faulty generator to captivating a devout global fanbase, dropping successful independent albums, selling out shows, and earning the endorsement of childhood heroes such as Dave Grohl. At 21-years-old, Tim settled in Music City. He busted his ass and found a way to be heard. He caught the attention of David Letterman who personally booked Montana on The Late Show with David Letterman. Unlocking a creative chemistry with Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, their collaborations included “This Beard Came Here to Party,” which served as the anthem for the 2013 World Series champion Boston Red Sox and the Nashville Predators during the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs. He co-wrote radio hits for Kid Rock such as “Tennessee Mountain Top” and “Greatest Show On Earth” for 2017’s Sweet Southern Sugar—which bowed in the Top 10 of the Billboard200. harlie Sheen espoused his admiration for Tim on social media and wound up directing he music video for “Mostly Stoned.” Following 2021’s Long Shots, Tim he let his grunge flag fly, while still telling the kind of stories fans fell in love with in the first place. Now, he infuses Space Needle-shaking grunge grit with a different kind of frontier poetry, bringing together vivid lyricism, vulnerable melodies, and vicious distortion. He's formally introducing himself on a series of 2023 singles for Music Knox Records/BBR Music Group/BMG, beginning with “
Devil You Know,” currently Top 20 at Active Rock radio.

Meals 4 Health and Healing is a heart-centered, caring community preparing organic, immune-boosting, anti-inflammatory meals free of charge for cancer patients undergoing cancer treatment and their caregivers. Since 2013, the nonprofit has served over 200,000 servings to hundreds of clients and their caregivers in Williamson and Davidson Counties.

“Meals 4 Health and Healing was founded by Kathie Heimerdinger whose husband, Mike – former Tennessee Titans Offensive Coordinator – passed away from cancer,” shares foundation Executive Director Katharine Ray. “Through their experiences, Kathie and her family became acutely aware of the burden a cancer diagnosis places on the whole family. We know food is medicine and a source of comfort but between appointments and treatments, nutritious food preparation is often sidelined. Meals 4 Health and Healing helps fill that gap and allows for caregivers to focus on their loved one.”

Research shows that nearly 80% of cancer patients end up malnourished as a result of cancer treatment. Consuming nourishing meals can make a vital difference to cancer patients as they fight their illness and heal from treatment. With an emphasis on serving those who are in crisis, who have little or no caregiving support, or who are financially unable to provide themselves with nutritious foods, the program elevates the recovery process for many who may be at high risk for malnutrition, which can slow down or stop treatment.

In addition, with over 250 active teen and adult volunteers participating in their program each year, the organization educates those volunteers about eating a “whole food” diet to reduce inflammation and to reduce the likelihood of chronic, inflammatory conditions like cancer. By educating patients, their families, and the adult and teen volunteers who provide the giving hands and hearts behind the organization’s mission, the eight-person team at The Heimerdinger Foundation is transforming the health and nutritional choices of countless people in middle Tennessee.

About Morgan Evans:
We all know life changes. Sometimes, it even gets flipped upside down, and for Warner Music Nashville’s Morgan Evans, his Life Upside Down EP captures just such a perspective shift.

An Australian-born country star with a truly international reach, the guitar slinging singer-songwriter has spent most of the last decade in the U.S., with a steady upward build to show for it. Releasing his Top 10 U.S. debut Things That We Drink To in 2018, he’s gone on to score a Platinum-certified No. 1 with the country-pop charmer “Kiss Somebody,” a Gold-certified fan favorite with the buzzy “Day Drunk” and rack up 800 million streams (and counting) –all while proving himself a captivating performer, equally adept at thrilling crowds by the tens of thousands all by himself, or with a band. In fact, his up-and-to-the-right trajectory took the People, Billboard, and Rolling Stone-lauded artist on his biggest challenge yet in 2022.

Following the release of his first full-band studio collection, The Country and the Coast (Side A), Evans spent the summer touring 10 countries across the globe –and even headlining the biggest country music festival in the Southern Hemisphere, Australia’s CMC Rocks, where he mesmerized a crowd of 22,000 adoring Aussies.

About The Heimerdinger Foundation:
The Heimerdinger Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 2013, provides nutritious, organic meals and education, free of charge, for families facing cancer. Research shows that nearly 80% of people facing cancer end up malnourished as a result of treatment. Being poorly nourished worsens side effects, reduces the effectiveness of or can stop treatment, and lengthens recovery time once treatment ends. Since its inception, the organization has served over 200,000 servings to clients and their caregivers in Davidson and Williamson counties and educated hundreds of volunteer adults and teens about proper, healing nutrition for life through its Meals 4 Health and Healing organic garden, kitchen, and meal delivery program.

Claypool is currently gearing up for a massive 41-date Summer of Green Tour 2023 with the Fearless Flying Frog Brigade, which marks the band’s first appearances together in 20-years. Kicking off in Stateline, NV on Wednesday, May 17th before winding its way from coast-to-coast, the tour will feature several festival appearances, including the Summer Camp Music Festival, the Mountain Music Festival, the Riverbend Music Festival, and the Peach Music Festival. Featuring Les Claypool (bass), Sean Lennon (guitar), Harry Waters (keys), Paulo Baldi (drums), Mike Dillon (percussion), and Skerik (horns), the set will include a full performance of Pink Floyd’s iconic tenth studio album ‘Animals,’ which was famously captured on the band’s second 2001 live recording ‘Live Frogs Set 2.’

George Strait Raises Record-Setting $2.4M For Veterans at 12th Annual Vaqueros Del Mar Benefit

George Strait's 12th annual Vaqueros del Mar golf tournament and benefit concert, hosted at Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort together with longtime friend and Texas businessman Tom Cusick, raised a record-setting $2.4 million for the Feherty’s Troops First Foundation, bringing the all-time total to over $17 million.

"After George and I acquired Tapatio, we had our Grand Re-Opening on 11-11-11, which was Veterans Day," notes Cusick. "We decided holding an event for our military heroes was perfect and then we met David Feherty with Troops First, and the rest is history. I believe we both would agree that this has been one of the most fulfilling experiences we have been involved in, and have grown so close to so many that have sacrificed for our country and all of us!"

In keeping with annual tradition, the event featured a golf tournament as well as a benefit concert, with performances by Strait along with Asleep at the Wheel, William Beckman, Wade Bowen, Dean Dillon, Keith Gattis, Randy Houser, Jamey Johnson and Randy Rogers.

The funds raised directly benefit wounded military service men and women. Learn more about the cause at www.troopsfirstfoundation.org.

HADEES MARKET Commemorates Historic Heartbreak of 2020 Holiday Season with "(Christmas) Through the Glass"

Rosedale, WA based Alternative Rock band HADEES MARKET has released their tragically inspired single, "(Christmas) Through the Glass." Paired with a haunting visualizer that reflects the current austerity of many American families' Christmas experience of isolation this year, both visually and lyrically memorializing the agonizing desolation of many reflecting on the traditional significance of the Holiday season, digital sales of "(Christmas) Through the Glass" benefitting COVID Relief Efforts.

“A mother brings a care package across town to her adult daughter who is (with her fiance and two dogs) at home on quarantine. Standing outside, the mom can see the tears streaming down her baby's cheeks. Inside, the daughter looks out and sees tears on her mama's face as well. This is Christmas Through the Glass.

You may be separated from someone you love this Christmas, and that separation may be taking a toll on you both. You may be missing each other for months. And here come the holidays, when what you long for most is to be together with family and friends. Whether the glass you face is in a window, or a door, or on a computer or a phone, the warm hug you wish for is.... alas, still a ways away.

Christmas Through the Glass is a sad song. My hope is that it reminds us what we have, what we share, and where we agree. I hope it brings you and your family and friends (and all of us) a little bit closer together.” - GREG WILLIAMSON

Hadees Market is a musical manifestation of me, Greg Williamson. I’ve been exceedingly fortunate to make recorded music here in the US Pacific Northwest with my brother and a few best friends since 1980. I was in a couple different DIY/indie-punk/alternative bands through the ‘80s, and in a regularly gigging post-punk band in the first half of the ‘90s as a drummer. About 1995 I started taking songwriting more seriously, and now I mostly write on guitar.

In 2003, I put out my first six-song EP as Hadees Market, and asked my musician friends to join me on different tracks. Only seventeen years later, in 2020, I’m putting out my latest EP, entitled “To the Island, From the Lake.” The new EP is me with the full band sound; I also perform as a singer-songwriter with just me and a guitar.

The name of the band comes from the name of my grandparents’ grocery store in Olympia, WA in Mud Bay in the 1940’s. My grandmother was “Hazel” and my grandfather “Ira Dee,” so they called the place Hadees Market.
People used to come in and ask my grandpa if he was Mr. Hadees. He always said “yes.”

French deathgrind masters BENIGHTED have shared a brand new track and music video as part of a fundraiser campaign to benefit the Rock N'Eat concert venue in Lyon (FR). "Serve to Deserve" is now available for purchase on the band's special BandCamp page at THIS LOCATION. All proceeds will be donated to Rock N'Eat to help the venue keep their doors open during these times of financial turmoil.

Vocalist Julien Truchan comments: "We are very proud to unleash this very special track that we recorded to support our dear friends from the Rock N'Eat venue in Lyon! The owners of the venue are brothers who are part of the underground scene for more than 20 years and they have put all of their guts in this great venue where so many amazing bands already played like Aborted, Suffocation, Entombed, Der Weg Einer Freiheit, and many others! Of course because of Covid 19, things are very difficult for them and we want to do everything we can to help them because they FUCKING DESERVE IT! So pls, my friends, we invite you to download this new brutal track and donate what you can to keep the underground alive !!! Thank you for this ! Love you all!"
