IRON SAVIOR To Release Final Part Of “Reforged” Double Album Series, “Machine World,” on August 22, 2025

IRON SAVIOR are one of the dinosaurs in the scene as well as pioneers of the traditional power metal genre and can proudly look back at almost 30 years of history. Founded by Piet Sielck (guitars, vocals) in 1996, the Hamburg, Germany based band quickly established themselves with their energising mix of power metal and sci-fi driven lyrics. Especially fantasy inspired metalheads have always been in love with IRON SAVIOR’s early works which are built on a story about a spaceship carrying the band’s name and their popularity is unbroken. Iron Savior [ 1997], Unification and Interlude [both 1999], Dark Assault [2001], Condition Red [2002] and Battering Ram [2004] were bestsellers - until they ran out of stock.

In order to meet the demand, IRON SAVIOR -- now consisting of Sielck, guitarist Joachim Küstner and a rhythm section powered by Patrick Klose (drums) and latest member Patrick Opitz (bass) -- didn’t only re-record the material from their Noise Records years (1997-2004), they even added an additional doze of enthusiasm to the original songs. Part 1 and 2 of these session have been received enormously well from fans, that’s why the group are even prouder to announce the release of the concluding third part of their legacy worshipping Reforged series today.

Due out on August 22, 2025, Reforged - Machine World features reinterpreted songs as well as a cover version of JUDAS PRIEST’s "Starbreaker," skillfully bridging to IRON SAVIOR’s old tradition of frequently paying tribute to the ‘metal gods.’ The new 2CD/LP marks the quartet’s debut release at their new label home PERCEPTION, the promising new division of Reigning Phoenix Music, where they (re-)unite with other well-known acts such as DANKO JONES, GRAILKNIGHTS, J.B.O., and SERIOUS BLACK among others. The 16 included tracks were recorded and produced at Powerhouse Studio Hamburg by frontman Sielck, who additionally took care of mixing, mastering and artwork/layout of the album.

Band leader Piet Sielck comments: “After collaborating with Nils Wasko and Jochen Richert [managing director] at AFM Records, I didn’t have to think twice when it came to deciding about a new partner. Continuing success, chart entries and three satisfied parties - band, fans and label - are more than enough reasons to follow the two of them to PERCEPTION and the Reigning Phoenix Music family. Onwards to at least 15 more years of this fruitful union!”

Label strategist Wasko adds: “We’re really thankful for IRON SAVIOR’s trust, and we’re equally happy to continue working with Piet and his fellow men at PERCEPTION. Having a collaborative long-term plan, IRON SAVIOR are only warming up, and we’re extremely confident to reach new extragalactic spheres together, with their final 'Reforged' chapter blasting off on the journey to their next original studio album. Power and melodic metal maniacs, go aboard!”

Today’s announcement is supported by the first appetizer of the ‘upgraded’ album, "Eye Of The World [2025 Version]," which can originally be found on IRON SAVIOR’s 2001 effort, Dark Assault.

“I was just never happy with this song. Somehow it didn't really take off. But the new version is an absolute hit and is now even being released as the first single,” comments Sielck.

Fit for a King Announce New Album "Lonely God" + Share Video for Title Track

FIT FOR A KING  — Ryan Kirby, vocals; Bobby Lynge, guitar; Daniel Gailey, guitar; Trey Celaya, drums; and Ryan "Tuck" O'Leary — bass/vocals — are thrilled to announce their new album and eighth overall, titled Lonely God. It was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Daniel Braunstein [Spiritbox].

Lonely God will arrive on August 1 via Solid State Records. Pre-order it here

The band, which just wrapped up a sold-out North American tour with Killswitch Engage, Kublai Khan TX, and Frozen Soul, are dropping the video for the title track today, as well. Watch it below

It boasts ALL the sonic hallmarks FFAK fans have come to know and love — gnarly riffs, guttural growls, deep grooves, and a slightly industrial crunch that takes things to the next level, every single time.

"In general, 'Lonely God' relates to the pursuit of power," shares Kirby about the track. "They're trading companionship, relationships, and love for power and money. You may have all of the power and be a 'God,' but it's a lonely spot because the world despises you."

Further expanding on the album itself, Kirby shares, "Lonely God is the result of us writing with no agendas. We didn't care about which song could be viral, or if we needed radio tracks, etc. We just wrote what we wanted, for the first time, in a really long time."

He finishes, "All five of us have our fingerprints on this album. We found a way to balance our voices. We've always been genuine with the lyrics, and that's the case again. There’s so much heart behind all of the instrumentation too. There’s definitely a lot of growth because our bond is tighter than ever."

Fit For A King harness the power of their brotherhood in order to push forward. The music contains traces of the members' personal and collective experiences grafted onto an ever-evolving sonic palette of metalcore unpredictability, alternative melody, and deathcore brutality laced with electronic alchemy. As trends came and went in the background of the last decade, the quintet has weathered trials and tribulations as well as enduring the chaos of a world constantly influx. However, their bond stretches back to 2011 when Fit For A King unleashed their independent debut Descendants. They continually progressed with Creation/Destruction [2013], Slave to Nothing [2014], Deathgrip [2016], and The Path [2020]. Meanwhile, 2022's The Hell We Create marked their fifth Top 3 debut on the Billboard Top Christian Albums Chart and third straight Top 15 debut on the Top Album Sales Chart. Outburn applauded how, "With The Hell We Create, Fit For A King takes on a new depth," and KERRANG! assured, "It hits hard in all the right places." They've impressively garnered just shy of half-a-billion streams fueled by staples like "When Everything  Means Nothing," "The Price of Agony," "Breaking the Mirror," and more. Along the way, they also collaborated with the likes of August Burns Red, The Plot In You, The Ghost Inside, and We Came As Romans in addition to packing houses on tour. In 2025, you can hear their strength and camaraderie loud and clear on their eighth full-length offering, Lonely God [Solid State Records].

Progressive Metal Unit MOTHS Release New Single "Wrath" + Music Video

Today, MOTHS, the progressive metal unit from San Juan, Puerto Rico, are pleased to release "Wrath," the second single from their upcoming album 'Septem,' due out August 1st. The new track arrives alongside an official music video, available to view below.

"Wrath" marks a bold evolution for MOTHS, as they weave Black Metal elements into their signature blend of Doom and Progressive Metal. The track channels overwhelming rage toward a world that offers no compromise—an eruption of frustration against systemic hardship and existential weight. The scorched-earth imagery reflects a desperate desire to start over, even while acknowledging that such renewal is never truly clean. Amidst the track’s unrelenting force, Mariel’s sopranoesque vocals float like a haunting specter—eerie, mysterious, and dark—offering a chilling contrast to the fury beneath. "Wrath" is a statement piece: theatrical, aggressive, and unafraid to confront the chaos head-on.

On the new single, bassist Weslie Negrón comments:

"‘Wrath’ was one of the songs we finished while recording 'Septem' at Romaphonic Studiosin Buenos Aires. I remember how everything came together quickly—it all just made sense, and we ran with it. We loved it from the start. We knew the track needed something eerie and full of depth, and Mariel absolutely delivered. When she added her vocals—especially that final section—it blew us away. The contrast between her soprano-style delivery and the chaos underneath brought out a haunting quality that elevated the whole piece. It’s also one of our favorite tracks to perform live. The energy and aggression in 'Wrath' are unlike anything we’ve done before—it’s intense, and honestly, just so much fun to play."

Watch the Music Video for "Wrath"

MOTHS' upcoming album, 'Septem,' is a visceral journey through the Seven Deadly Sins, with each track embodying a facet of indulgence, obsession, and self-destruction—from the corrosive jealousy of "Envy" to the insatiable hunger of "Gluttony" and the rage of "Wrath." The album plunges listeners into a dark, immersive experience where desire spirals into chaos.

Diving deeper into heavier territory, MOTHS fuse elements of Death and Black Metal with their signature blend of Progressive, Psychedelic, Doom, and Stoner Metal, crafting a sound that’s both aggressive and atmospheric.

'Septem' was recorded in just five days at Romaphonic Studios in Buenos Aires, capturing the raw energy and inspiration of the setting. It also marks the debut of vocalist Mariel Viruet, whose range spans from haunting melodies to visceral screams.

The album was mixed by Walter Chacón (Los Fabulosos Cadillacs) and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Between the Buried and Me) at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden.

On the album, Weslie Negrón reflects:

"'Septem' is our most ambitious effort to date. From traveling to another country to record it, to the addition of a new vocalist, and creating it all amidst a world in turmoil—it's incredibly rewarding to finally see it out there. This album contains some of my favorite songs we've ever written as a band. You can feel our chemistry in these tracks, how we came together to make them happen, without any boundaries or 'rules' about how songs should be written. It's an intriguing, unpredictable, and unconventional album, one that I'm sure will feel like a fresh sound to everyone who hears it."

Renowned Rock Singer RUSS BALLARD Announces New Double Album 'Songs From The Warehouse / The Hits Rewired' Out April 18th Via Frontiers Music Srl

Today, renowned rock singer RUSS BALLARD is thrilled to announce the release of his upcoming double album 'Songs From The Warehouse / The Hits Rewired', out on April 18th, 2025, via Frontiers Music Srl. To celebrate the announcement, the new single and official video, “Resurrection”, are available today.

Commenting on the new single, RUSS BALLARD states:

“A last-minute addition to the album. Roly, who wrote the song together with me, said that 'Resurrection' would be a cool song title. That simple. It turned out to be too good to miss it on the album. A true rocker.”

Watch the Video for “Resurrection” Below:

RUSS BALLARD is simply one of the most renowned and gifted songwriters in pop and rock music. His music career started when he was only 14 years old and he wrote a tune, which was recorded by The Shadows, appearing on their album 'The Sound Of The Shadows' in 1964.

During the 70’s and 80’s, his songs ruled the airwaves and the list of hits is pretty much endless. From “Since You Been Gone” (Rainbow), “God Gave Rock'n'Roll To You” (Argent and Kiss), “So You Win Again” (Hot Chocolate), “New York Groove” (Hello and Ace Frehley), “You Can Do Magic” (America), “Winning” (Santana) or “I Don’t Believe In Miracles” (Colin Blunstone) – just to name a few – everyone who needed a great song knew that with RUSS BALLARD they could not go wrong.

Numerous records/artists were also produced by him, like Roger Daltrey, America, Elkie Brooks, Skindred or Sada Vidoo. In 1974, he started a solo career (after his stint with the band Argent in early 70’s), which had its highest momentum with the 'S/t' album in 1984 (which included the hit single “Voices”) and the follow up “The Fire Still Burns”.

Since then, BALLARD has released 10 studio albums and is still writing and producing hits. Three songs from his 1984 and 1985 albums were featured in the TV show “Miami Vice” and were extensively played on dance floors around Europe.

The upcoming release, 'Songs From The Warehouse / The Hits Rewired', is a real treat for all rock fans: the first CD contains new songs, which show once again that the inspiration never left RUSS, while the second CD includes brand new recordings of famous hits either penned or performed by him during the years.

BALLARD expresses his excitement for the release:

“It’s a buzz releasing a new album. What started as my “Lockdown-tapes” during the pandemic became an album! During lockdown, my studio was a life saver for me, and I found new ways of writing and recording. The result gives the listeners a good insight into this time - have a listen!”

WITHIN DESTRUCTION Announce New Album 'ANIMETAL'; Drop New Single & Music Video "CYBERGIRL"

Within Destruction, Slovenia’s most awesomely audacious, genre defying metal pioneers, Within Destruction have officially announced their next chapter with the reveal of their upcoming album ‘ANIMETAL,’ set for release on April 11th, 2025, via Sumerian Records. Pre-orders for 'ANIMETAL' are available now HERE. To mark the news, the band has dropped their electrifying new single “CYBERGIRL,” accompanied by an official music video that plunges listeners into a dystopian world where the lines of reality are blurred. Listen to "CYBERGIRL" HERE and watch the accompanying video below.

Packed with relentless riffs, soaring melodies, and their signature, anime-inspired electronic elements, "CYBERGIRL" epitomizes Within Destruction’s ability to innovate and push boundaries while staying rooted in the chaos of modern metal.

Speaking on the news of their upcoming album, the band share:

"ANIMETAL is a culmination of all the stylistic experimentations that preceded it. These tracks are unapologetically authentic to the band’s identity. With each album released after the band’s deathcore era, we have gradually pushed the boundaries of electronics, clean hooks, and pop sensibility. Each song has a unique identity within the tracklist while retaining the band’s signature heavy-core sound. In previous albums, we experimented with melodic choruses, but with ANIMETAL, they have become a defining feature of our music. Every song has its own hook and appeal, and we hope it resonates deeply with listeners.

"Thematically, ANIMETAL explores a wide range of subjects, shifting between fictional, larger-than-life characters and situations, and motifs that are deeply relatable to everyday life. Heavily inspired by anime plots and protagonists, the lyrics often take on a first-person perspective, portraying the struggles these characters face. From the grim battles within one’s own mind to the delusions we sometimes find ourselves lost in, and the crushing weight of the external world, we aim to create a connection with listeners through the storytelling in these tracks."

Building on the momentum of their previous singles “DEMON CHILD” and “KANASHIBARI,” Within Destruction’s fifth studio album, 'ANIMETAL' pushes their sonic experimentation to new heights. Combining their trademark brutality with anime-inspired electronic flourishes, the album reflects their fearless creativity and relentless drive to challenge genre boundaries. Pre-order merch bundles are available now HERE

Within Destruction are kicking off their 2025 with a bang. The band hit the road in the US this week, fro their Super Sugoi Tour headline dates which started on Monday 1/27 in Pittsburgh, then joining Born of Osiris for their nationwide run kicking off on Janaury 31st in Iowa. Within Destruction are also gearing up for a spring tour across Australia and Asia to celebrate the release of ‘ANIMETAL.’ Tickets for all dates are on sale now from HERE.

About Within Destruction

Within Destruction are an innovative metal group from Slovenia. They have been disrupting the deathcore and metalcore scenes since their formation in 2010. Known for their intense sound, the band uniquely incorporates electronic elements and anime samples into their music, adding layers of unpredictability that have captivated fans worldwide. In 2020, they took a bold step with 'YOKAI,' an album that divided fans by blending metalcore with electronic and trap influences, all while integrating anime-inspired themes.

Continuing to push boundaries, the band released 'LOTUS' in 2022, leaning further into metalcore and embracing clean vocals, which sparked both outrage and admiration among listeners. Known for their ambitious live performances and relentless dedication, Within Destruction remains a force in modern metal, constantly evolving and challenging genre norms. With ‘ANIMETAL,’ they’re poised to deliver their boldest statement yet.

CRAZY LIXX Announce New Album 'Thrill Of The Bite' Out February 14th via Frontiers Music SRL

Swedish hard rockers CRAZY LIXX are thrilled to announce the release of their highly anticipated new studio album, 'Thrill Of The Bite', set for release on February 14th, 2025, via Frontiers Music Srl.

Today, to get a first “bite” of the new record, CRAZY LIXX shares the first single, “Midnight Rebels”, which is accompanied by an unofficial soundtrack music video, made with clips from the classic 1986 horror movie “Trick Or Treat”, starring Marc Price, Gene Simmons and the late Tony Fields.

Vocalist Danny Rexon expresses his enthusiasm for the new album, by saying:

“So stoked to finally reveal the news of our upcoming album, set to be released in February 2025. Even though we did release some new songs on the compilation album earlier this year, it has been quite a while since the fans got a proper full length studio album with all originals, but now we can finally announce that that time is soon upon us. And dare I say that this album is one really worth waiting for? Personally, I'm really proud and happy with how it came out and I think that the response to the two singles we've put out so far (“Call Of The Wild” and “Little Miss Dangerous”) gives us a clear indication that our fans seem to agree.”

Rexon also comments on the first single:

“And just to sweeten the good news even more here we are with another banger from the upcoming album, called 'Midnight Rebels'. Probably one of the happier and more party-friendly songs on the album, but still with that darker lyrical theme (which you might have guessed by now, no?). Happy listening, hope you guys enjoy it!”

Watch the Unofficial Soundtrack Music Video for "Midnight Rebels" Below.

Since the latest studio album release with 'Street Lethal' back in the winter of 2021, fans have been eager to hear new CRAZY LIXX material, and even though the compilation album 'Two Shots At Glory' (2024) gave the listeners some covers, fresh takes on old songs, and a couple of new tracks, this next studio album is what they have all been dying to hear.

'Thrill Of The Bite' promises to elevate CRAZY LIXX’s rock music to new heights. Following the success of their previous album 'Street Lethal' (2021), this new record is packed with powerful anthems, memorable riffs and melodies, electrifying guitar solos, and the larger-than-life sing-along energy that fans have come to expect from the band, delivering what is already shaping up to be one of the bands strongest works in their 20+ year career.

The album features tracks that highlight the band’s ability to balance their nostalgic, sleaze-metal roots with their love for the 80s and early 90s, drawing inspiration from the flamboyant heavy metal and movies of that era alike. CRAZY LIXX have teased a few tracks, suggesting a turn to a heavier, riff-driven style while maintaining their signature melodic choruses and glam-influenced attitude.

With 'Thrill Of The Bite', CRAZY LIXX are poised to continue their reign as one of Sweden’s premier retro hard rock bands, solidifying their legacy in the global scene while pushing their creative boundaries even further.

Pre-Order 'Thrill Of The Bite' HERE

CRAZY LIXX are a Swedish heavy metal / hair metal / hard rock band hailing from Malmö, Sweden formed in 2002. Known for their energetic performances, catchy hooks, and an unapologetic revival of the glam metal sound from the late 80s, CRAZY LIXX has become a flagship of the New Wave of Swedish Sleaze Metal. The band draws inspiration from acts like Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe, Alice Cooper, RATT, Skid Row and Guns N’ Roses, creating a perfect blend of melodic hard rock with modern production values and a keen eye (and ear) for 80s and 90s nostalgia.

CRAZY LIXX first gained global recognition with their breakthrough albums 'Loud Minority' (2007), 'New Religion' (2010) and 'Crazy Lixx' (2014), including hits like “Blame It On Love”, “21 'Til I Die”, “Hell Raising Women” and “Girls Of The 80s”, who have all become favorites among the fans and classics in the modern hair metal community.

The band’s lineup has evolved over the years, but it is led by founder and frontman Danny Rexon, whose vocals, songwriting and music production skills are the driving force behind the group. Alongside him, the band currently consists of bassist and creative sidekick Jens Anderson, guitarists Jens Lundgren and Chrisse Olsson, and the newest addition in the form of drummer Robin Nilsson.

CRAZY LIXX are:

Danny Rexon - Vocals

Jens Lundgren - Guitar

Chrisse Olsson - Guitar

Jens Andersson - Bass

Robin Nilsson - Drums

Dark Chapel announces debut album ‘Spirit In The Glass’

Guitarist/singer/producer Dario Lorina, best-known as a longtime member of Black Label Society (2014 to present), is launching his brand new band, DARK CHAPEL.

Led by Lorina and also featuring Brody DeRozie (Guitar), Mike Gunn (Bass), and Luis Silva (Drums), the band’s airtight guitar-craft and sludgy grooves with magnetic melodies, bluesy phrasing, and grunge mystique are spotlighted on their debut album, Spirit in The Glass, which is due out February 28, 2025 on MNRK Heavy.

Dario’s gritty delivery on the song takes hold on a hypnotic hook, bleeding into a fret-burning lead punctuated by dramatic bends. “’Glass Heart’ is a lyrical and almost cinematic musical story that started with a riff and lyrically stemmed from emotion,” he reveals. “That emotion created an imagery for me that I began writing about as if that feeling was a painting I was writing to describe.”

Striking an elusive balance between dark and heavy, ethereal and passionate, Spirit in The Glass  is as Lorina describes, ““This is a culmination of all artistic influence, whether musical or otherwise.”

SEE ALL DARK CHAPEL MUSIC + MERCH HERE

Dario Lorina began his professional career in 2006 when he was 16 as the touring guitarist with the late Jani Lane (ex-Warrant). At 19, he joined veteran metal act Lizzy Borden whom he toured with for four years. He released two instrumental records with Mike Varney on Shrapnel Records in 2013 and 2017 titled, DARIO LORINA and DEATH GRIP TRIBULATIONS. On January 1, 2014 he joined Black Label Society and has since been touring worldwide alongside Zakk Wylde, performing on guitar, piano and backing vocals ever since. Lorina dueled solos with Wylde on Black Label Society's 2022 album DOOM CREW INC., and he joined Zakk Wylde on the January 2022 cover of Guitar World magazine.

“The guitar never really left my hands,” he laughs. Years of woodshedding followed. At 16 years old, he answered the call to audition for Jani Lane and found himself on the road with the ex-Warrant frontman shortly thereafter.

Defeated Sanity Premiere New Playthrough with Sick Drummer

Few bands in the halls of metal have marched to a beat that's more brazen, brutal and bizarre than Defeated Sanity. Thirty years after their flaming, cataclysmic demo, the underground legends have repeatedly slammed death metal on its deformed skull. Each member is a certified lunatic when it comes to breaking brains with their fine-tuned instruments, but the band's punishing headiness is led by drummer Lile Gruber, their fleet-footed co-founder and singular mastermind.

"Lile's drumming can be described by his band's appropriately chosen name", Black Dahlia Murder drummer Alan Cassidy told Loudwire. "When you hear one of their songs for the first time you quickly become mentally exhausted with all the twists and turns of his extremely technical and groove-oriented playing".

Whether he's flaying his snare, pinging between cymbals, pounding out blast beats or riding a colossal groove, Lile ensures that Defeated Sanity's new album flows like a never-ending stream of filth. To gear up for Chronicles of Lunacy, Sick Drummer are premiering a new drum playthrough of the band's latest single. It's still plenty twisted, but "Accelerating the Rot" now stands as one of the fastest songs in their torrid history.

Icelandic Prog Metal Newcomers Múr Sign to Century Media Records, Shares Music Video for New Single, “Frelsari”

With a sound that defies generic labels and a vision that stretches the limits of creativity, Múrare the latest descendants from Iceland’s volcanic underground. The emerging quintet are forging a new era of dark, atmospheric and boundary shattering metal. With progressive sensibilities that harken to the Devin Townsend Project and mid-era Opeth, a talent to cohesively juxtapose atmospheric textures with polished technicality a la Meshuggah and Gojira, and a focus on jazz study among the fresh-faced instrumentalists, Múr is already proving itself to be a reckoning force.

Today, Múr is pleased to announce that they have joined forces with Century Media Records for the release of their debut self-titled full-length! In celebration, the band is now sharing the mind-bending new single, "Frelsari," along with a video. The clip was animated by Múr's Kári Haraldsson (vocals, keytar, synthesizers) during his teenage years and can be found below.

The band comments: “’Frelsari’ is one of our more powerful, but also more conventionally structured songs, exploring themes of blind faith, giving up control, and the illusions of liberation. The music video is an animation our frontman made in his teens, which seems to harmonize well with the themes of this song, written years later.”

Múr’s trajectory really gained momentum a year after their formation when their talent was recognized in the spring of 2022 as they conquered the Icelandic Wacken Metal Battle, propelling them to an impressive fourth place in the international finale at Wacken Open Air in Germany.

The band recently created a buzz following the release of their folk horror infused video for “Heimsslit," which can be found HERE.

“'Heimsslit’ is an Icelandic word for the apocalypse, but the literal translation is 'world's tearing,’ inspiring a vision of the world coming apart at the seams,” says the band. “The lyrical themes have more to do with an acceptance of something vital falling apart within one's own mind rather than being about the physical world ending. The song is accompanied by our first music video, a massive cross-discipline collaboration between local artists."

The album is due digitally on November 22, 2024 while CD and vinyl will be available January 10, 2025. Pre-orders are now live HERE.

Describing their music as “a wall of sound and emotion,” Múr is quick to point out that their sound is up for interpretation. “I’m not sure whether it’s our place to fully define it,” cautions Haraldsson “as people seem to take vastly different things away from experiencing it, depending on who they are and what they like in music.” While their complex passages will undoubtedly elicit different perspectives as it borrows from many genres and elements, the emotional component to their music is more direct, with lyrics that center on the human experience. “Most of the lyrics revolve around facing yourself, breaking the shackles of inner turmoil and finding strength in letting go,” he adds.

As for what comprises their multifaceted sound, Haraldsson explains, “We draw inspiration from a lot of different sources, both when it comes to the songwriting and when designing the more overarching soundscapes and textures. Amongst other things we are inspired by film scores, forces of nature, and various different forms of electronic music.”

Making their debut with their self-titled full-length, which will be released via Century Media Records on November 22, 2024, the newcomers already have a buzz around them as they have been winning over crowds on the festival circuit since conquering Soulcrusher Festival in 2023. Through their unique blend of atmospheric textures, evocative songwriting, and raw emotional intensity, Múr has garnered critical acclaim both within their homeland and beyond, solidifying their position as one of the country's most promising and exciting musical exports.

STEAMHAMMER ALERT: New Music from FIRE ACTION

Finnish Heavy Metal quartet FIRE ACTION releases a new single "No Drone Zone"from their upcoming album 'Until The Heat Dies' out November 29th via Steamhammer/SPV. The track is accompanied by a new music video, available to watch below.

Guitar player Juri Vuortama comments on the single:

"'No Drone Zone' is about a dystopian future that's already a reality in totalitarian regimes such as China: someone is always watching you. Unfortunately, harm's ways are not always far from here. There are such powers even in the Western world that want more and more control over people, their properties, and even their thoughts. No thanks to such surveillance."

With three previous albums – ‘Rock Brigade’ (2016), ‘Fahrenhater’ (2018), and ‘9112’ (2020) – to their name, FIRE ACTION are anything but newcomers and have long been an established and integral part of Finland's metal scene. SOL INVICTO (Feat. Members of Deftones, Cypress Hill & Sikth) Announce Debut EP & Drop First Single

Underground metal visionaries Sol Invicto, the dynamic project formed by producer/guitarist Richie Londres, Stephen Carpenter (Deftones), and Eric Bobo (Cypress Hill), are thrilled to announce the release of their long-awaited debut EP, Loosely Aware’, dropping November 8th, 2024. Accompanying the announcement is the release of their first official single, “The Obvious Play”, alongside an official lyric video. Fans can pre-save the EP HERE, stream the new track HERE and watch the visualizer below.

Speaking on the EP, the band shares,

“It’s been quite the journey to get this to the people, just a taste of what’s to come.”

After years of experimentation and anticipation, Sol Invicto is finally ready to reveal the first taste of what’s to come with single ’The Obvious Play, featuring guest vocals from Sean Plague of Plague To Pyres (who are signed to Londres and Carpenter’s independent label Omyac Records). The EP marks the project's first official release following their extremely rare, private double album ‘Initium’ in 2017, a collection of demos and experimental tracks gathered over the years which was available only to members of their private club, Sol Invicto Comiti.

Loosely Aware showcases the band’s unique blend of furious riffs, razor-sharp lead guitar lines, industrial and electronic elements all infused with the percussive genius of Eric Bobo, drawing from the talents of Dan Foord (Sikth) on drums. The EP signals a bold new chapter for the band as they prepare to record a full-length metal album later this year. More on that coming soon. For now though, bask in the gloriously nasty, soul-crushingly heavy sounds of Sol Invicto’s “The Obvious Play” and get ready for ‘Loosely Aware’ to drop on November 8th.

About Sol Invicto

Sol Invicto is an underground metal powerhouse founded by producer/guitarist Richie Londres, alongside Stephen Carpenter of Deftones and Eric Bobo of Cypress Hill. Fusing heavy riffs, industrial beats, and Latin-infused percussion, the project has carved out its own unique space in the world of experimental metal.

The group initially blended Lo-Fi Industrial Drum & Bass with Carpenter’s crushing guitar work and Bobo’s dynamic percussion. As the sound evolved, Londres brought in Dan Foord from Sikth to take over on drums, pushing the band toward a more live, raw energy.

To date, Sol Invicto has released a single, exclusive double album titled Initium, a collection of demos and experimental tracks gathered over the years. Released in 2017 on limited edition signed vinyls, Initium remains a rare gem for members of the Sol Invicto Comiti and currently unavailable to the public.

After starting work on new music in 2018, the group’s plans were delayed, but 2024 will finally see the first official release from Sol Invicto—the 3-track EP titled ‘Loosely Aware’, featuring vocals from Sean Plague of Plague To Pyres, a Norwegian/British noisecore band signed to Carpenter and Londres’s label, Omyac Records.

'Loosely Aware’ is only the beginning for Sol Invicto. Waiting patiently to unleash their unique brand of heaviness into existence, they are now primed for global domination.

'Loosely Aware' is mixed by Adam “Nolly” Getgood (Periphery, Animals As Leaders). Mastered by Jaime Gomez Arellano (Ghost, Paradise Lost). Artwork by Kwonny.

new Permafrost single ‘Ultimo August’, out on 16th August on our own Fear of Music label

A FROZEN HEART IN SUMMERTIME: PERMAFROST UNVEIL BROODING POST-PUNK SUMMER ANTHEM

‘Ultimo August’ Out 16th August

LP ‘The Light Coming Through’ Out 11th October

“If you are a fan of the sinister menace of Interpol, the jagged guitar lines of Gang Of Four or the grandiose gloom of The Cure, here is a band which is a mix of all three but has its own unique post-punk aesthetic – Permafrost.”

XS NOIZE

“Brooding and upbeat, here we have a classically post-punk vibe with compositions still centred on starkly compelling melodies.”

AMPLIFY MUSIC

“With a powerful melody and plenty of reverb and appealing synth, there is still a charming quality here amidst this ominous hymn – impressive.”

SPILL MAGAZINE

Nordic-British quartet Permafrost continue to deliver the authentic post-punk sound of the early '80s with the release of ‘Ultimo August’ on 16th August. The single follows the band's acclaimed comeback track, ‘Wrong Heart’,  and serves as a final preview of their forthcoming album, The Light Coming Through, hailed for release 11th October.

Permafrost shatter expectations with ‘Ultimo August’ by delivering a brooding summer anthem that heralds their forthcoming album. Lead singer Kåre Steinsbu’s haunting baritone howls weave a tale of heartbreak and introspection as the track delves into the personal reckoning required to mend a fractured relationship. Driven by pulsating basslines and intricate guitar work, the track juxtaposes the icy darkness of winter against the yearning warmth of summer, evoking comparisons to Interpol, Editors, and New Order

“Ultimo August is a song about a broken relationship and the realisation that it’s necessary to look inward first to work out where it went wrong“ says Permafrost of the single. “It’s a story of a person who is torn between the turbulence of passion and the mundanity of a peaceful life”

Conceived in the chilling depths of Molde, Norway, Permafrost have been igniting the post-punk flame since their formation in 1982. Founded by schoolmates Frode Heggdal Larsen and Kåre Steinsbu, the band has evolved over the decades, incorporating the talents of fellow Norwegian Robert Heggdal and UK-based Daryl Bamonte - a seasoned collaborator with Depeche Mode and The Cure. As authentic purveyors of the genre, Permafrost transport listeners back to the shadowy, goth-filled clubs of the early ‘80s. Whilst countless contemporary artists attempt to replicate the raw energy of this era, Permafrost truly lived it.

Defying the odds of distance, with members dispersed across Trondheim, Oslo and Margate, Permafrost have forged an unbreakable creative bond. Unexpectedly, the pandemic became a catalyst for Permafrost’s creativity, as weekly virtual sessions laid the groundwork for their forthcoming album and refined their long-distance collaborative process. The songwriting process typically begins with guitarist Frode presenting a demo, which bassist Robert (Bob Frost) then develops in Logic Pro, programming drums and other elements. Singer Kåre creates a melody to match and lyrics are selected from a collective vault they have accumulated over the years.  The song is refined through a collaborative process, passing back and forth between all four members until everyone is satisfied.

Utilising this refined process, Permafrost’s forthcoming album, The Light Coming Through, offers a sonic refuge from the chaos of modern life. With their signature blend of synth-infused post-punk and politically charged lyrics, the band delivers a collection of songs that are both introspective and empowering. Self described as “Optimistic Melancholy,” their sound offers solace and inspiration, illuminating a path through life’s darkest corners.

Permafrost’s discography is a testament to their endurance over the years within the music scene. From their humble beginnings with the limited edition 1983 cassette ‘Godtment’, the band has evolved into a formidable force. Their 2019 vinyl EP, ‘Permafrost’ marked a turning point, subsequently gaining wider exposure through a digital release in 2021. Permafrost truly ignited in 2021, with their trio of singles dominating the charts, including an eight-week combined reign for ‘Femme Fatale’ and ‘Closed Eyes’ atop the Indie Disko Top40. These tracks also made waves on the Deutsche Alternative and Native25 charts, earning a coveted spot on Apple Music’s influential "New in Rock" playlist. The unstoppable momentum continued with ‘Restore Us’ which secured the #1 position on both the Indie Disko Top40 and Native25 charts.

‘Ultimo August’ drops on all major streaming platforms on 16th August, a final taste of Permafrost's forthcoming album, The Light Coming Through, due for release on October 11th.

CAVALERA - RELEASE ANIMATED MUSIC VIDEO FOR SECOND SINGLE, 'FROM THE PAST COMES THE STORMS’

CAVALERA has become synonymous with extreme metal music, a name that to this day still holds the highest regard, a family legacy built upon decades of musical aggression. In 2023, Max and Iggor Cavalera achieved what some would say was an impossible feat; they revisited their earliest releases, Morbid Visions, and Bestial Devastation, and re-recorded them with bone-breaking intensity. A risk that few would dare to even attempt, yet they artfully and prolifically attained their trademark raw sound by means that could only be described as magic or time travel.

It seems that the ball would not stop rolling as now they are entering the final chapter of their early-days trilogy. Schizophrenia is an iconic album in terms of early thrash and death metal, a household name for those of us invested in extreme metal. This was the point where the Cavaleras refined their dark, dingy, speed-influenced songs, into something a bit more mature, developed, and technical. Decades later, they have once more unlocked the asylum that is Schizophrenia, opening the doors to that banished, twisted recording which will be unleashed unto to world on June 21st via Nuclear Blast Records.

Today, the band releases the pummeling second single entitled 'From The Past Comes The Storms'. Costin Chioreanu was once again enlisted to create the animated music video.

Max Cavalera states, "'From The Past Comes The Storms' is a ferocious album opener. It is a pioneer song using the ’80s Metal movement’s mentality. I love the apocalyptic vision in Costin’s video, bringing the circle of life and death and war and pain. This is going to be a banger to play live!"

Iggor Cavalera comments, “’From The Past Comes The Storms’ was one of the first songs we wrote for schizophrenia, also included in a demo version. I love the rawness between the old school black/death metal influences mixed with thrash. The video illustrates the vibe of the song very well!”

No stranger to collaborations, the Cavalera brothers enlisted Travis Stone (PIG DESTROYER) on lead guitars, and that choice becomes obvious within the first song. The full lineup would consist of more Cavalera alumni, as Igor Amadeus Cavalera (GO AHEAD AND DIE, HEALING MAGIC) once more brought his talents on bass to the fold. Thundering and thrumming the low end with brute force, it is clear that the double Iggor and Igor combination is a rhythm section to be reckoned with.

It should come as no surprise that the CAVALERA brothers always felt that these songs deserved a fresh take with modern production. From April 15th to June 5th, 2023 the band re-recorded the album at Focusrite Room in Mesa Arizona. Mixing and mastering was handled by Arthur Rizk(SOULFLY, GO AHEAD AND DIE, TURNSTILE).

Schizophrenia’s album cover has obsessed and fascinated fans for decades. The brothers left no stone unturned and no detail unnoticed, also revisioning the original cover artwork of the album, restored in hand-painted watercolors by Eliran Kantor

With the impressive catalog that the CAVALERA brothers have created over the years, you will soon see that Schizophrenia will also sit amongst their greatest achievements. Max and Iggor have relinquished an album that for many years was locked away behind rusty, iron cell doors, barred by straight jackets and haunted by madness. From the past comes the storms as Schizophrenia is set loose on the world once more!

CAVALERA is:
Max Cavalera | Vocals, Guitar
Iggor Cavalera | Drums, Percussion
Igor Amadeus Cavalera | Bass
Travis Stone | Lead Guitar

Boston Manor Announce New Album "Sundiver" + Share New Single "HEAT ME UP"

Boston Manor frontman Henry Cox is opening the next chapter of a story that began with 2022 album Datura. That record opened with the lines, "Do me a favour, close that window, keep the heating in, there's a fire in the car park, I see it smouldering." Sundiver, then, is the yin to Datura's yang.  Arriving on September 6 via SharpTone Records, Sundiver is Boston Manor’s fifth album and one that represents a glimmering dawn for the Blackpool five-piece. Grown from a seedbed of optimism and sobriety, the LP celebrates new beginnings, second chances and rebirth. With two members recently stepping into fatherhood, hope is baked into every note.

Like anything worth doing though, that hope has been hard-won. On Sundiver, change doesn't just happen it is willed into existence, forged in the flame of grief and bent into shape with a hammer blow of positivity. Working with long-time producer Larry Hibbitt, alongside engineer Alex O'Donovan, the band switched recording from London to the leafier pastures of the home counties. There's a brightness searching to get out of Sundiver that feels like a purposeful about-turn from the darkness of [2022 album] Datura.

This year's pair of earlier single releases explored second chances ("Container") and "What If?" scenarios ("Sliding Doors"), bringing with them a refreshed mindset, the band clearly ready to create something immersive, embracing the unpredictable, glorious, devastating nature of life as a human being. Lyrics foxtrot from parallel universes to personal growth, vivid dreamscapes to raw grief. Individually they're single strokes full of meaning and magic. Together, they're a landscape.

"'Heat Me Up' ended up being the first track we finished on the album," says Cox. "We'd gone down to Welwyn Garden City where we were going to record the album to write and do some pre-production. It was actually our day off, it was a blistering hot day and we had nothing to do, so we had a barbecue in the garden and wrote a song. Sometimes tunes take months to write but this just flew right out in an afternoon. It's a song about being utterly obsessed with someone and being grateful for what you have."

Continuing about the album as a whole, he says: "Sundiver is the culmination of two years work and four years of planning. Going into the pandemic, we knew our next record would be a double album released in two parts. The first a short shadowy-noiry electronic record set over one night and the second a sprawling rock record that documents the following day. Both albums are products of their environments, we made Datura in the dead of winter in a windowless studio complex that mostly just produced techno, we'd enter before the sun rose and leave long after it set, basically never seeing sunlight. We made Sundiver in Welwyn Garden City over two summers, we barbecued every day and would walk across the road to a meadow and just take naps in the sunshine when we weren't recording."

He continues, "We've essentially been working on this album and building up to it since the pandemic. We were obsessed with trying to make a record that felt like blistering sunshine, or that wavy/hazy horizon you get when the pavement is super hot, but we didn't want it to sound 'happy' or 'major key.' Sundiver is by far Boston Manor's best and most ambitious record to date, and we couldn’t be happier with it, I really hope our fans love it as much as we do."

BOSTON MANOR are today announcing that their new album Sundiver is set for release on September 6 via SharpTone Records. Pre-order the album here.

News of the band's fifth studio album arrives alongside the release of its lead single "HEAT ME UP."

"Could you please open that window, let the new world in."

The sage simplicity of Sundiver's opening lyrics says it all.

THE PULL OF AUTUMN announces fifth album, releases lead track 'I Was Just Dreaming', paying tribute to Scotland's The Orchids

"A gem... A genuine and welcome earworm" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Beautiful... Pure and simple. Lyrically emotional and thought-provoking. It has perfect instrumentation and musicality" ~ Spill Magazine

"Better to travel well than to arrive... this band is not about merely travelling, this is exploration down the unbeaten paths of the glorious unknown" ~ The Swindonian

US-based art-pop group The Pull of Autumn is back with a new album, having accumulated a wealth of new material since their 2022 album 'Beautiful Broken World' LP, which involved such music luminaries as The Pop Group's Mark Stewart, Living Colour's Doug Wimbish and producer Adrian Sherwood,

The lead track 'I Was Just Dreaming' is a wistful taster of the collective's fifth album 'Memory Tree', featuring Boston-based artist Bruce MacLeod on vocals. Described as "a melancholy remembrance of moments in time and life", the album will be released via Boston-based RBM Records on CD and digitally.

The Pull of Autumn is a ‘super group’ of sorts, orbiting around Rhode Island artist Daniel Darrow of 80s post-punk group Johanna’s House of Glamour and core members Bruce MacLeod, Matthew Darrow and Luke Skyscraper James (I.R.S. recording artist Fashion). Each release involves a revolving door of notable and emerging artists, both from the local music scene and further abroad. The band's debut 2018 eponymous album was followed by 'Afterglow' in 2019, 'Small Colors' in 2020 and 'Beautiful Broken World' in 2022.

"I love how 'I Was Just Dreaming' perfectly captures the moment of a dying crush, where you’re still all in enough to have your hopes, but are planning an exit - maybe one with a bit of a flourish. This song is brilliant. I just did the best I could with it, stripped what I had down to a couple of tracks, and sent it to Dan. He knows just what to do - here I like his choppy piano bits and the somewhere out there synth swells, perfect.  The song ends with a couple of the demo tracks spliced back in … a sort of accident, but definite nod to the title of the song," says Bruce MacLeod.

Daniel Darrow adds: "This is a cover of legendary Scotland band The Orchids. Bruce and I are both fans of Sarah Records and our cover of this song is our tribute to a great time in music. We’ve added a modern twist here that retains the core beauty of the song."

The new 'Memory Tree' album features contributions by such artists as Philip Parfitt (The Perfect Disaster), Ricky Humphrey (This Twisted Wreckage), San Francisco-based artists Leigh Gregory and Julius Manning, Berkeley singer-songwriter Sophia Campbell, and two local music legends - Rhode Island Rock’n Roll Hall of Fame inductee Paul Everett and producer, songwriter and artist Kraig Jordan

"For our new 'Memory Tree' album, the usual genre-bending music has been replaced by a well-defined continuous take on electro acoustic ambient music and jazz. I call this “night music”. It’s been created with a singular vision lyrically and musically, speaking to the past memories and touching upon what the future may hold. The album features many veteran Rhode Island artists, whose music has moved me for many years, as well as artists from around the world, including Britain and France," says Daniel Darrow.

'I Was Just Dreaming' is now available exclusively via Bandcamp, where the 'Memory Tree' album (out on May 31) can already be pre-ordered. As of May 31, this record can be obtained from fine digital music platforms, including Apple Music and Spotify.
