MENTAL CRUELTY Descends Into Eternal Winter with New Single “Frost” + Official Video

MENTAL CRUELTY descends into eternal winter with their crushing new single “Frost,” taken from their upcoming album, ‘Echoes of a Forlorn Land,’ out on October 23rd via Century Media.

Steeped in bleak imagery and Nordic mythology, “Frost” paints a desolate world swallowed by an endless winter, where darkness, isolation, and the relentless cold slowly erase every trace of hope. Drawing on the imagery of Fimbulvetr – the great winter that precedes Ragnarök in Norse mythology – the track pairs MENTAL CRUELTY’s ferocious heaviness with the dark, atmospheric, and cinematic elements that shape the world of ‘Echoes of a Forlorn Land.’

Produced, mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth, Kreator, Amon Amarth, Opeth), ‘Echoes of a Forlorn Land’ pushes MENTAL CRUELTY beyond the foundations laid on ‘Zwielicht,’ further expanding their uncompromising blend of extreme metal and dark atmosphere.

This November and December, MENTAL CRUELTY will bring the new album across Europe on their headline tour with Ov Sulfur, Extermination Dismemberment, and more.

MENTAL CRUELTY comments on the new single:

‘Frost’ is MENTAL CRUELTY at our most chilling, capturing the desolation of Norse mythology’s Fimbulwinter both lyrically and musically. Its plodding, atmospheric, and mournful tones evoke a slow trudge through ice and snow, stretching on for three long years. Think Rotting Christ meets Wardruna: a song that’s as blackened as it is coated in white snow."

They continue, "The mask was handmade by myself, with a little help from my partner! And you should totally text us, because there MAY be a chance to take it home."

Extol Drop "Disintegrate" — WATCH + LISTEN

Experimental death metal collective EXTOL have released their new single "Disintegrate." The single is now streaming worldwide — listen here.

Watch the visualizer below

Musically, "Disintegrate" positions itself on the heavier side of things, while still containing the typical Extol cocktail of vocal harmonies, memorable melodies, and a brutal mix of seemingly contradicting elements. Lyrically, the song delves into the heart-wrenching condition dementia, and the surreal path friends and family have to walk while experiencing the inevitable decline in cognitive and physical function of loved ones.

"Disintegrate" was recorded at Hawk StudiosLittle Cave Studio and Hrada Creative and mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios.

The track appears on the band's upcoming album AURA OF DECAY, scheduled for release on November 6 via Solid State Records.

U.D.O. RELEASE NEW SINGLE & VIDEO “I’LL DIE TRYING” AND ANNOUNCE 20TH STUDIO ALBUM VOODOO RANGER

2027 marks a unique triple anniversary for Udo Dirkschneider and U.D.O.: Udo turns 75, U.D.O. celebrate 40 years as a band, and Voodoo Ranger marks the release of the German heavy metal institution’s 20th studio album. This very special record release will be celebrated on January 8, 2027 via powerhouse label Reigning Phoenix Music.

U.D.O. now opens this milestone chapter with the first taste of Voodoo Ranger: new single “I’ll Die Trying.” Accompanied by an official music video, the track also marks the launch of the album pre-order.

Watch the official video for “I’ll Die Trying” Below:

Stream “I’ll Die Trying” HERE: https://udo.rpm.link/dietryingPR

Pre-save / Pre-order Voodoo Ranger HERE: https://udo.rpm.link/voodooPR

Rather than launching Voodoo Ranger with an all-out metal attack, U.D.O. introduce the album with one of its most personal moments. “I’ll Die Trying” is a classic U.D.O. ballad about perseverance, self-belief and staying true to your path, carried by the unmistakable voice of Udo Dirkschneider.

The song also became the album’s first single through an unexpected turn of events — a change of plans that, as Udo explains, ultimately felt like the right choice.

Udo Dirkschneider comments:
“‘I’ll Die Trying’ is one of the most personal songs on Voodoo Ranger. It’s about never giving up, believing in yourself and always moving forward, no matter what life throws at you. The last verse especially means a lot to me because it reflects what I’ve experienced on stage for so many years. Every concert is a special moment and as long as people want to hear me sing, I’ll keep giving everything I’ve got. I’ve always believed that a great ballad can be just as powerful as the heaviest metal songs, and throughout my career these songs have become some of the most memorable ones. ‘I’ll Die Trying’ is another one of those songs that comes straight from the heart.

We originally planned to launch Voodoo Ranger with a different song, but after Peter and Alen were injured during one of the recent concerts of the Balls To The Wall – 40th Anniversary Tour, we had to postpone the original video production. Rather than rush things, we decided to let ‘I’ll Die Trying’ lead the way. Looking back, it feels like the right choice. The song captures a side of U.D.O. that has always been important to me. Ballads have been part of my career from the very beginning, and our fans have always embraced them. At the same time, nobody should think this album is getting softer: Voodoo Ranger is packed with classic U.D.O. power and has plenty of surprises waiting.”

And Voodoo Ranger does indeed have more than a few surprises in store.

The album finds U.D.O. as unmistakable as ever with their signature sound firmly intact. Powerful riffs, massive hooks and Udo Dirkschneider’s unique voice meet heavier and darker moments.

The album is only one part of what will make 2027 an exceptional year for Udo Dirkschneider and U.D.O. The band will celebrate four decades of U.D.O. live with the extensive Triple Anniversary Tour 2027, taking the anniversary across Europe and bringing together material from throughout the band’s history.

At the same time, another major chapter in Dirkschneider’s story will be told away from the stage: his official autobiography, created together with Dan Dreyer, will be published in the very same month as Voodoo Ranger.

Album, book and tour therefore meet at a unique point in his career. After more than five decades in heavy metal, Udo Dirkschneider has plenty of history to look back on — but Voodoo Ranger makes one thing equally clear: U.D.O. are still looking ahead.

75 years. 40 years of U.D.O. 20 albums. And the metal heart keeps beating.

Bull Y Los Búfalos Release New Single + Video "Ghost" via TLG|ROCK, Distributed by Virgin Music Group

Bull Y Los Búfalos are turning up the heat with the release of their new single and official music video “Ghost,” available now via TLG|ROCK, distributed by Virgin Music Group. The track marks the first single from the band’s forthcoming album, Full Tank of Courage, due January 2027 on CD, vinyl, and all major streaming platforms.

For the “Ghost” video, Bull Y Los Búfalos went straight to one of cinema’s most iconic locations. The video was filmed primarily at the legendary cemetery in Spain where Sergio Leone’s classic Western The Good, the Bad and the Ugly was filmed, giving the visual a sweeping, cinematic atmosphere that perfectly complements the band’s larger-than-life sound.

“Ghost” introduces audiences to the next chapter of Bull Y Los Búfalos, the Nashville-based rock band fronted by Spain-born singer/songwriter Diego “Bull” Avello. Standing 6'6" and bringing a larger-than-life presence both onstage and off, Bull combines the grit and swagger of American rock and roll with the fire and passion of his Spanish roots.

The result is what the band calls “Stubborn Rock.”

Stubborn Rock isn’t a genre. It’s a takeover. Bull Y Los Búfalos aren’t coming. They’re already here and they play to win. Rock and Roll is for the brave.

“Ghost” arrives as Bull Y Los Búfalos enter a major new era. The band recently signed with TLG|ROCK in Nashville, Tennessee, with distribution through Virgin Music Group, and has completed a new album recorded in Nashville. Full Tank of Courage is poised to be the band’s most ambitious and powerful work yet, with additional music and videos set to follow.

But the story behind Bull Y Los Búfalos extends far beyond music.

FROM A SMALL SPAIN MOUNTAIN TOWN TO THE AMERICAN DREAM

Diego “Bull” Avello’s journey from a small mountain town in Spain to the American rock-and-roll scene is the subject of the upcoming music documentary I TOOK THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED.

Filmed across the United States, Mexico, and Spain, the documentary chronicles Bull’s pursuit of the American dream, the challenges encountered along the way, a difficult immigration process, the sacrifices, struggles, friendships, and rock-and-roll lifestyle that shaped his journey.

The film is currently making its way through the 2026 film festival circuit and has already earned four awards, with additional festival submissions underway.

The documentary offers an intimate look at the man behind the towering stage presence and the philosophy that drives Bull Y Los Búfalos: never quit, never compromise, and keep moving forward.

ROCK & ROLL WITH A HOLLYWOOD CONNECTION

Three of the band's songs have been featured on FX Network’s Mayans M.C., the acclaimed Sons of Anarchy spin-off, giving their music exposure to a massive television audience.

The band has also established itself as a formidable live act, performing at NASCAR events in Nashville and Daytona Bike Week, Harley-Davidson events, biker rallies throughout the United States, and even an NBA halftime show for the San Antonio Spurs.

As a heavily supported Gibson artist, Bull Y Los Búfalos shared the bill at NAMM 2020 in Los Angeles with rock legends including Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Slash of Guns N’ Roses, and Don Felder of the Eagles.

Internationally, the band has performed at major biker festivals throughout Latin America, including Mexico, playing for crowds of more than 25,000 people.

Their touring history includes closing out 2022 on the road with Ace Frehley of KISS, followed by 2023 dates with 38 Special and Anthony Gomes. In 2024, the band returned to the Midwest for additional dates with 38 Special as well as Lynch Mob.

ONE-OF-A-KIND ROCK & ROLL

Bull Y Los Búfalos have released three studio albums, multiple EPs and singles, as well as a live album capturing the raw energy of their performances.

In 2019, MXD MAG, one of Texas' leading rock publications, named Bull Y Los Búfalos Best Rock Band in Texas, while Bull was recognized as Best Rock Singer.

As an independent band, Bull Y Los Búfalos have accumulated more than 1 million music video views and 1 million Spotify streams, while their single “DINERO PRIMERO” made an impact at national Active Rock and Alternative radio through the LA Lloyd Rock 30.

Now, with the backing of TLG|ROCK, distribution through Virgin Music Group, strong support from Gibson, a new album, a documentary, and a growing international profile, Bull Y Los Búfalos are ready to take Stubborn Rock to an even bigger audience.

“Ghost” is only the beginning.

Miranda Lambert Unveils Vintage Heartbreaker "Two Things Can Be True" Ahead of 10/2 'Crisco' Release

With Crisco named one of the most anticipated albums this fall by The New York Times, Vulture and more, Miranda Lambert continues to unveil the project already drawing attention for its retro sensibility and expansive take on country music via today’s release of “Two Things Can Be True.” Listen Below and pre-save/pre-order the album arriving Oct. 2 via MCA HERE.

A timeless heartbreak song wrapped in the lush, vintage-inspired sounds of classic country and sung in Lambert’s warm lower register, “Two Things Can Be True” finds her navigating the complicated space between knowing a love is slipping away and still holding on to it:

“‘Two Things Can Be True’ is probably my favorite song on the record right now,” Lambert shares. “There’s something about it that feels almost like singing a duet with the steel and strings, and it’s country through and through with an old-school Patsy Cline feeling. I love that it found its own little corner of the Crisco world.”

“Two Things Can Be True” joins the previously released title track plus “Sunset Marquis,” “Till The Going’s Gone” and GRAMMY-nominated duet “A Song To Sing” with Chris Stapleton in previewing the rich musical landscape Lambert and co-producer Jesse Frasure created on Crisco. Across 12 tracks, Lambert celebrates the many worlds that have always existed within country music as it nods to the genre’s shared history with disco music. She explores heartbreak and hope, highways and honky-tonks, rhinestones and roller skates, creating a record that feels both timeless and refreshingly alive while embracing every side of the artist fans have come to love: the storyteller, the wanderer, the romantic, the troublemaker, the traditionalist and the dreamer.

The song arrives during a landmark moment for Lambert as an artist, songwriter and producer, having received seven CMA Award nominations spanning those roles, including recognition for her work on Ella Langley’s history-making hit “Choosin’ Texas.” Lambert is a co-writer and co-producer on the song, which this week tied the all-time record for most weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

GRAVEYARD - Unleash Video For Energetic New Single 'Tongue Tied'

Rock titans GRAVEYARD have officially unleashed their incendiary new single, ‘Tongue Tied’, available today on all digital platforms alongside an energetic official music video. The track serves as a driving second preview of their highly anticipated seventh studio album, Fever, arriving October 9th worldwide via Nuclear Blast Records.

Shaking off the gloomier, introverted atmosphere of 2023’s album Six, ‘Tongue Tied’ shifts the band into high gear. Built on an up-tempo momentum and a relentless, hard-hitting groove, the track stands out as one of the most direct and urgent songs in the band’s catalog. Drenched in thick fuzz and fueled by a blistering rhythm section, GRAVEYARDcaptures an uncompromising, high-velocity energy without sacrificing a drop of their signature, blues-soaked soul.

To visually capture the track's breakneck drive, the band enlisted acclaimed Swedish director Emil Klinta, whose visual palette has previously shaped iconic videos for Ghost and The Hellacopters. Klinta’s video mirrors the song's electric pace, matching performance-driven intensity with a sleek, cinematic rock-and-roll edge.

Mixed by Pelle Gunnerfeldt—widely renowned for capturing the ferocious live energy of bands like The Hives, Refused, and Viagra Boys—and mastered by Robin Schmidt at 24-96 Mastering, ‘Tongue Tied’ displays the raw, unvarnished power at the heart of the upcoming album.

Accompanying the record's bold visual identity created by Dutch artist Maarten Donders, Fever marks a triumphant return to form for the two-time Swedish chart-toppers. Following the album’s release on October 9th, GRAVEYARD will launch a co-headlining Scandinavian tour alongside BLUES PILLS to celebrate the release, ahead of extensive European and UK tours throughout 2027.

Stream ‘Tongue Tied’ now on all major platforms and watch the official video directed by Emil Klinta. Pre-orders for Fever are available now via Nuclear Blast Records.

Swedish Retro Rockers SPIDERS Share Title Track from Upcoming Album + Official Video

Today, Swedish rock powerhouse SPIDERS proudly share the title track from their upcoming album, 'Crystal Eyes,' set for release on September 25th via Sound Pollution. The new track arrives alongside an official music video.

With a confidence that shines through every second and stellar production by Kalle and György (Svenska Grammofonstudion), SPIDERS deliver a song where everything falls into place. Drive, attitude, intensity, and an instinctive sense for melody come together in perfect balance.

At the center is Ann-Sofie Hoyles' charismatic voice, guiding the listener through a chorus that refuses to let go.

Accompanying the single is a brand-new music video created by production company Smack in close collaboration with the band. The result is a visually striking piece that challenges, engages, and connects seamlessly with the album's artwork and overall aesthetic.

Calling "Crystal Eyes" a potential hit may sound like a bold statement, but the question is whether SPIDERS have ever come closer. This is a song with all the ingredients to become an instant favorite among longtime fans and new listeners alike.

Watch the Official Video for "Crystal Eyes" Below:

With their new album ’Crystal Eyes,’ SPIDERS deliver their most powerful statement yet. Recorded at the renowned Svenska Grammofonstudion in Gothenburg with producers Kalle Gustafsson Jerneholm and György Barocsai, the album is a high-voltage rock record bursting with energy, attitude, and a deep love for rock's past, present, and future.

Building on the momentum of last year's ’Sharp Objects,’ ’Crystal Eyes’ captures the band's signature blend of hard rock, garage, punk, and new wave with renewed confidence and intensity, showcasing the raw power and memorable songwriting that have become their trademark.

Pre-Order 'Crystal Eyes' HERE

Since forming in Gothenburg in 2012, SPIDERS have earned a fierce reputation on stages across Europe and the United States. Through acclaimed albums including ’Flash Point,’ ’Shake Electric,’ and ’Killer Machine,’ the band has carved out a sound where classic rock 'n' roll collides with garage rock, punk attitude, and new wave swagger. ’Sharp Objects,’ their first release on Wild Kingdom, marked an exciting new chapter for the band and climbed to No. 1 on Sweden's physical album chart, setting the stage for the ambitious follow-up that is ’Crystal Eyes.’

The band's growing profile has been fueled by an impressive run of live performances. Last year, SPIDERS toured extensively alongside The Hellacopters before collaborating on a split single paying tribute to the late David Johansen. This spring, they continued their momentum with a Spanish tour alongside The Soundtrack of Our Lives, further cementing their reputation as one of Scandinavia's most electrifying live acts.

Praised by Classic Rock, Record Collector, Sweden Rock Magazine, and Vive Le Rock, SPIDERS have been described as "70s-soaked hard rock," "Motörhead chaos," and a "riff party." With ’Crystal Eyes,’ they continue to push forward while remaining true to the spirit that has defined them from the beginning, delivering an album with undeniable international appeal and reaffirming their place among today's most exciting rock bands.

SPIDERS are:

Ann-Sofie Hoyles – vocals

John Hoyles – guitar

Rickard Hellgren – guitar

Alex Mayr – bass

Oskar Brindmark – drums

Kenny Chesney Rocks The Plaza; Debuts Animated "Goldfish" TONIGHT

They came from Maine, New Hampshire, Virginia, North Carolina, Philadelphia and beyond – and started lining up long before midnight – to be part of Kenny Chesney’s kick-off for Silver Sands Marina on the Plaza with “TODAY”’s Citi Concert Series. They brought license plates saying “SS Marina,” signs that said “Skipped School for This,” “Too Old for High Heels, But Not No Shoes,” “Virgina Is For Kenny Chesney Lovers” and “My First Kenny Chesney Concert,” as well as Pirates Flags, tennis pros, bags of Goldfish and sundry tokens of No Shoes Nation for the show that saw the live debut of the title track, “Goldfish” and “Carry On.”

“I figured if we’ve got the band in place, we might as well open it up,” said the East Tennessee songwriter-superstar. “To play these songs for the people, to feel the energy and see how they light people up is what it’s all about… And it was great they gave us five songs, so we could go deep – and have some fun. And it was.”

Photos from Chesney's "TODAY" performance will be added HERE with photo credit as they become available.
Performances will be available later today
HERE.

With the new songs landing with a big smile and bigger energy, Chesney has gotten his 21st album underway like only he can. Live on several ESPN shows this afternoon, he will join his friends at the table on “The View” tomorrow. Even more, the Country Music Hall of Fame inductee is set to world premiere a special animated clip of “Goldfish” tonight as part of his second TalkShopLive appearance, where he will further unpack his new album and take questions from the people watching. Watch the premiere and conversation HERE.

“Since we’re all gonna be together, this is the place to show off this new, animated take on our ‘Goldfish’ video,” Chesney shares. “We were talking about how much fun the video we shot was and childlike this song is, and figured, ‘Why not take it all the way… and make a cartoon out of it?’ It’s amazing what you can do when you add in animation.

“All of the animals not only come to life – and have some pretty good rhythm. But through some really creative people’s magic, they even brought Poncho and Da Ruba Girl to the party! What could be better? And the people at TalkShopLive worked so hard to figure out how we can make world premiering this video a part of tonight’s stuff.”

Next week, Chesney joins Gayle King on “CBS Mornings,” as well as Joe Torre for “NBC Nightly News” segment “Great Americans.” As “Carry On” crests the top of the charts and the Original Vibe Room 2027 Tour tickets for 19 stadium shows go on sale, Silver Sands Marina arrives with a flourish and a lot of fun.

“It’s been three years since I put out a record, and we’ve got new music to play,” Chesney says. “This has been such a creative time for me and the band, and we’re loving every moment. If it’s this much fun now, I can’t imagine what next year’s tour is gonna be like – because these songs are landing now, it’s going to be crazy when we get to Tampa. Just the way we like it.”

Ray Hawthorne Can't Outrun Where He's From On New Single "When It Rains"

Pop punk's most lovable liability, Ray Hawthorne, returns today with another brand new track, "When It Rains", taken off his forthcoming new record, "Ray Hawthorne Can't Be Trusted", set for release on October 15. Candid vulnerability, relatable angst, and a strong dislike for your hometown all in one track. Pre-save the upcoming record, "Ray Hawthorne Can't Be Trusted".

Fresh off the placement of "Habits (ft. Pouyan Afkary of Scary Kids Scaring Kids)" at Halloween Horror Nights: Los Angeles, Ray Hawthorne leans into the buzz to deliver a fun, pop-punk deep cut. Miming the ache of small-town stagnation and self-doubt, "When It Rains" captures the suffocating pull of a hometown you can't quite leave behind.

Where "Ray Hawthorne Sucks" was earnest and "Ray Hawthorne Isn't Real" was chaotic, "Ray Hawthorne Can't Be Trusted" continues a catalog that treats humor, self-awareness, and self-destruction as adjacent concepts. As a whole, Ray Hawthorne leans into emotional whiplash and damage control on his earlier records, while "Ray Hawthorne Can't Be Trusted" (produced by Pete Zen) is aimed at the part of the cycle where the damage has already become too familiar.

Setting sail on the emo seas with "When It Rains", Ray Hawthorne shares:

"To be read in a pirate voice:

Arrrrggg matey. How’s goes life for you land lubbers? Everybody thinks they be a pirate because they went to Disneyland once. Posers yee be. And yee know posers be walking the plank on this ship. Alas, this shanty has me favorite line on the record, “When it rains in New Jersey it bathes me, it burns me, it breaks me, it cures me.” The crew and me be singing it until the wee hours. Shiver me timbers and such. It’s like the drinking songs of old but also if the drinking songs of old were inherently emo. Emo pirates we be. Yo ho yo ho a crying life for me."

Renowned for his work in North Kingsley, the acclaimed project alongside Shavo Odadjianof System of a Down, Hawthorne initially captured hearts as the Heartbreak Hero with his inaugural solo release "Heartbreak Feels Good in a Place Like This". Building on his solo work, his debut record "Ray Hawthorne Sucks" further cemented his status as a bold new voice in pop punk, quickly amassing a devoted following and over 20 million streams across all streaming platforms for his magnetic charm and razor-sharp wit.

Blending heartbreak, sarcasm, and just the right amount of emotional stability, Ray Hawthorne leads with a messy kind of hope, turning emotional freefall into something you can scream along to. Where debut album and his firstborn, "Ray Hawthorne Sucks", leaned into an earnest DIY vulnerability, his previous record, "Ray Hawthorne Isn't Real", took a turn and tapped into the restless defiance of a secondborn. The 15 tracks helped embrace the chaos, laugh at the pain, and maybe, just maybe, allow us all to find a little redemption along the way.

Starting from the very real possibility that Ray Hawthorne is just a guy screaming into the ether (and somehow making it sound catchy), his catalog has become a refuge for anyone who's ever felt too loud, too sensitive, or too much. Loud, petty, and deeply cathartic, Ray Hawthorneis proudly one of the most unapologetically honest voices modern pop-punk.

Be sure to stay tuned for more Ray Hawthorne news coming very soon.

Nytt Land Premiere Ritual of Stone Sun (Live 2026)

For more than 20 years, Nytt Land have followed their living, breathing connection with ancient traditions and beliefs. Much like the symbol of the sun itself, Ritual of Stone Sun traces back through Nytt Land’s history. The dark folk family duo’s new live album spans from the throat singing and shamanic drums of their early Nordic cycle to their most recent explorations of the ancient percussion and vocal traditions that are performed by Siberian shamans to this day.

Lead single “Ragnarök” remains a core pillar for Nytt Land’s live ritual since first appearing on the duo’s 2018 album, Oðal. Anatolly’s throat singing and mystical talharpa recall scenes from a Nordic epic. “U-Gra”, a more recent fan favorite, calls out in dedication to ancient Siberia with pounding drums and Natalie’s hypnotic chanting. In the five years since the song was released off the 2021 album Ritual, it has been played more than 3 million times on YouTube and Spotify.

The full video of Nytt Land’s March 2026 performance in Moscow includes three songs that do not appear on Ritual of Stone Sun. “Taiga”, “Totem” and “Tygir Tayii (Heavenly Sacrifice)” are all featured on the duo’s latest studio album, Aba Khan, which was released this February by Prophecy Productions.

The live video of “Ragnarök” was filmed by Sergei Kaputanuk.

After signing with Season of Mist in May of 2026, Nytt Land announced Ritual of Stone Sun (Live 2026). Recorded and filmed in Moscow on March 22, 2026, the live album is dedicated to the beginning of spring and the awakening of nature. The tracklist spans from their 2026 single “Equinox” to “Ragnarök” and other songs from their early Nordic cycle.

FALSIMONIAN Release New Single "Judgment" With Visualizer, Ahead of Forthcoming EP 'For Survival'

Melodic death metal quartet FALSIMONIAN have released their most experimental single offering, "Judgment" alongside a visualizer created by audio-visual artist Brian Pinke aka pinkenoise. The track delivers a sonic fusion of death metal, progressive metal, and jazz. FALSIMONIAN's forthcoming EP, For Survival, is scheduled to arrive independently on November 7, 2026.

FALSIMONIAN is pleased to announce an exciting collaboration with audio-visual artist Brian Pinke, out of South Carolina. Pinke performed multiple reactive takes to the track using a modular synthesizer connected to his custom video generating rig. He edited the takes to create the final version, resulting in a bespoke analog video experience.

Each video performance is unique and impossible to replicate, and the intricate analog circuitry creates glitch-like art that is both haunting and beautiful fusing retro and modern aesthetics.

"We are beyond excited to collaborate with Brian, this video aligns with our values of supporting human-made art, and we are honored to have a custom visualizer that was performed alongside our music"

The US and Mexico based melodic death metal band FALSIMONIAN infuse their dynamic heavy sound with influences from Mexican folk and Latin-American roots music, as well as progressive elements and jazz. Centered around a fictional, dystopian world, the upcoming EP considers the everyday impact onto individuals who are living under the threat and fear of a world-ending catastrophe.

For Survival was produced by Jesus Fuentes Valverde, with mixing and mastering by Gil Andrade. Drums engineering was undertaken by Ruben Sanchez at Urvn Studios, with guitars and keyboards recorded by Jesus Fuentes Valverde and vocals recorded by Erick Valverde. Guitar and vocal editing, and bass programming, was by Jesus Fuentes Valverde. Additional guitars on "Limitless", "Judgment" and "For Survival" were recorded and edited by Cesar Robles.

All artwork photography for the EP and single releases are from X-Rays Erick Valverde has taken over the last 10 years. The artworks utilize original photographs of a colorful sunset as the light source behind the X-Rays. These colors are commonly seen in the desert skies of the US/Mexico border. Ariadne Willis adjusted the photographs for the layout and design of the EP and single covers. Erick's accidents and health struggles have also indirectly influenced the overall theme of the EP. Additional photography by Rancho Creativo Studios.

About FALSIMONIAN:

Rooted in melodic death metal, FALSIMONIAN began as the brainchild of Jesus Fuentes and Erick Valverde in 2024, who welcomed Cesar and Mauricio in 2025 completing the band's line-up. Their sound is unique to the members' life experiences as bi-cultural individuals hailing from the harsh desert in the US-Mexico border.

With members based out of El Paso, Texas, USA; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, USA; and Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico, FALSIMONIAN incorporate genre influences from Mexican folk and Latin-American roots music, as well as jazz. Musically, the band draw inspiration from metal acts including OPETH, DARK TRANQUILLITY, DREAM THEATER, CHILDREN OF BODOM, and BORN OF OSIRIS.

FALSIMONIAN take their name from the Latin word "falsimonia", meaning: trick, imposition, deception. Situated in a fictitious dystopian world, the forthcoming EP explores the mundane daily realities of survival in the midst of dark times of war, hate and manipulation. For Survival arrives on November 7, 2026.

GIRISH AND THE CHRONICLES Share New Single "A New Spark" + Official Video

Today, GIRISH AND THE CHRONICLES share their new single and official video, “A New Spark,” ahead of the release of their new album ‘Disintegrate,’ scheduled for release on November 20th via Frontiers Music Srl.

Girish Pradhan states:

“It was a small idea that I had recorded back in 2019 during the ‘Rock The Highway’ era, and now it has finally found its home in our new album. I think this is the highlight of the album for all of us. There are times in life when we feel stuck, surrounded by negativity, and desperate for new beginnings. ‘A New Spark’ is a song about the search for that ‘spark,’ an inspiration, which helps us shed the darkness and gather strength and courage to explore new possibilities in life. There is a whole other world out there.”

Watch the Official Video for “A New Spark” Below:

The band is also thrilled to announce that they will support Guns N’ Roses on November 14th in Bangalore, India.

They commented: “Supporting GNR for the third time is a surreal feeling, considering how small we started and how far we’ve come as a band. It used to be a daydream that nobody would dare to dream, especially in a relatively hidden Himalayan state like Sikkim. This is literally us living our dreams!”

Over the last few years, GIRISH AND THE CHRONICLES have evolved from one of India’s best-kept hard rock secrets into a truly international force. Fueled by extensive European touring and a widely acclaimed appearance on the hit American television show “America’s Got Talent,” the band has experienced remarkable growth, expanding its audience far beyond its homeland and earning recognition among rock fans across the globe.

Now, with their highly anticipated new album for Frontiers Music Srl, GIRISH AND THE CHRONICLES take another step forward. While staying true to the melodic hard rock and classic heavy metal foundations that have always shaped their sound, the band has also explored some new territory on ‘Disintegrate.’

The band comments:

“With this album, we just wanted to play around with the sound a bit. It’s heavier, groovier and darker in places, with some alternative elements coming through, but it still feels like GATC. We didn’t want to overthink it. We just went with what sounded good.

They continue, “There are definitely some different sides of us on this record, both musically and lyrically, and we just want our old and new fans to hear it for themselves.”

At the heart of it all is frontman Girish Pradhan, whose unmistakable voice continues to set the band apart. Possessing a rare combination of power, range, grit, and emotion, Girish channels the spirit of the great rock singers of the past while maintaining a personality and charisma that are entirely his own.

This new release captures a band continuing to grow while staying true to the spirit, passion, and songwriting that have defined GIRISH AND THE CHRONICLES from day one.

‘Disintegrate’ is the sound of GIRISH AND THE CHRONICLES moving forward while remaining true to who they are.

XTC's Colin Moulding releases 'Want It Bad' EP on 47th Anniversary of 'Making Plans for Nigel'

XTC founding member and acclaimed songwriter Colin Moulding releases the 'Want It Bad (The Pep Talks and Playing Fields of Old England)' EP, available on CD via Burning Shed on September 18th, marking 47 years to the week since the release of XTC's seminal single 'Making Plans for Nigel'.

Penned and sung by Moulding, 'Making Plans for Nigel' was the lead single from XTC's third studio album 'Drums and Wires' and became the band's first UK Top 20 hit. Nearly five decades on, its anniversary provides a fitting backdrop for the release of a new solo work from the songwriter whose distinctive melodic voice helped shape XTC's music and legacy.

Previewed by the title track and an accompanying video, shared last month, this EP offers a tantalising glimpse into the creative process of one of the UK’s finest songwriters, these three tracks offering a compact portrait of the ideas, inspirations and experiments behind the music.

At the EP's centre is 'Want It Bad', which began as a pep talk before taking on a broader meaning. Moulding shares, "Although this song started life as a sporting pep talk, it was clear that it could easy be thought of as a mantra for ones own life ambitions whatever they may be.  If you want something in this life you have to really want it. And if you really want it, you’ll get it -- that was my mantra.

Moulding's distinctly English pop sensibility is present throughout the release, showcasing his English pop vision with XTC's trademark qualities of melody, rhythm, variety, and idiosyncratic subject matter, mixed in with nostalgia and a degree of pensiveness.

The artwork, created by Andrew Swainson, and video, created by Thomas Walsh, are derived from ‘Les Coureurs’ by Robert Delaunay, whose depiction of runners perfectly captured the spirit Moulding wanted to convey.

Moulding explains, "I was scouting around for a cover that would signify human endeavour. I had written 'Want It Bad', which basically amounted to a pep talk by a sporting coach to his team. Football perhaps...  something made me think of the runners on the beach in the film “Chariots of Fire". After many permutations, Andrew, my artwork designer, said "What about Delaunay and his runners?" and when he showed me, there was no doubt. So it was derived from  “Les Coureurs” by Robert Delaunay, a French painter from the early part of the twentieth century. Check him out!"

The second track, ‘Something About The Boy (James Bond Demo for Female Voice)’, reveals a very different side of Moulding's songwriting. Inspired by the James Bond films of his childhood, the song grew from a long-held ambition to one day work with legendary composer John Barry.

Moulding shares, "I was a big James Bond fan. My father had taken me to see the first three - 'Dr No', 'From Russia with Love', and 'Goldfinger'…..In the 1960’s. I had secretly nursed an ambition that one day John Barry and I would work on a theme together (hey ya got to have dreams kid!). So here then was my idea to put to John Barry. Only trouble was I had to sing it myself to demonstrate the female lead. The key could have been a problem, but it had not occurred to me. I’m still a dreamer even today."

The EP closes with ‘Want It Bad (Demo)’, an immediate document of the bare-bones initial phase of Colin's songwriting process. He notes, "Quite simply, it's my working demo knocked out in about an hour with a hand-held 57 microphone, different lyrics, and no bass. This is something for the musos, I guess."

The ‘Want It Bad’ CD is out on September 18th. Presented in a four-panel digisleeve, it is avaialble exclusively via Burning Shed, where 'The Hardest Battle' can also be obtained, along with music and merch from TC&I and Colin's other projects

NYHC Crossover Pioneers CRO-MAGS Unleash New Version of 1985 Demo Favorite "Everybody's Gonna Die (2026)"

Today, September 16th, is the 40th anniversary of the iconic CRO-MAGS debut ‘The Age of Quarrel’ and the seminal New York hardcore outfit, fronted by Harley Flanagan, is proudly launching their new version of "Everybody's Gonna Die (2026).” Taken from the 1985 demo, and featured on the upcoming album 'The Age of Quarrel: 40 Years of Quarrel,' the track is a tribute to their unforgettable 1986 debut.

Written by Harley in 1985, "Everybody's Gonna Die" didn't make the final track list for 'The Age of Quarrel,' though it proved to be a demo-era fan favorite. Now, the track reclaims its rightful spot on 'The Age of Quarrel: 40 Years of Quarrel,' alongside an official lyric video.

Forty years ago, New York City's CRO-MAGS defined the metal-punk crossover with their landmark 1986 album, ‘The Age of Quarrel.’ The intensity, influence, and groove of that record continue to resonate today, fueled by the band's enduring legacy and hard-earned reputation as one of heavy music's most volatile and influential acts. Led by founding bassist and vocalist Harley Flanagan, who assumed frontman duties beginning with 1989's ‘Best Wishes,’ CRO-MAGS bring ‘The Age of Quarrel’ full circle with a celebration of the album that started it all.

Joining Flanagan are original ‘AOQ’ guitarist Doug Holland and former CRO-MAGS/ Suicidal Tendencies guitarist Rocky George, plus Meg Mills, Zach Blair, and Arthur Rizk for fresh takes on classics including "Hard Times," "World Peace," and "Malfunction," along with the addition of the 1985 demo-era favorite "Everybody's Gonna Die." Flanagan is also joined by current band members Dominic Dibenedetto and Dave Sharpe. Drums on all tracks were handled by drum phenom Greyson Nekrutman. Produced and mixed by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Blood Incantation), ‘40 Years of Quarrel’ not merely revisits a pivotal crossover classic, but pours new fuel on the fire for old devotees and new converts to the CRO-MAGS cause.

The decision to revisit 'The Age of Quarrel' began during the making of the "Wired for Chaos" documentary. Several songs had to be re-recorded for the film’s soundtrack because the original recordings couldn't be licensed, inspiring Harley Flanagan to re-record the entire album.

The project also provided an opportunity to address the complicated history surrounding the original record. None of the musicians who performed on 'The Age of Quarrel' were ever paid or received an accounting of the album’s sales. For years, Flanagan tried to reunite the original lineup to re-record the album and reclaim the rights to 'The Age of Quarrel' and 'Best Wishes' through the Copyright Reversion Act, but couldn't bring everyone together before that window closed.

For the new recording, Flanagan brought together friends, current bandmates, and musicians from other bands to celebrate an album that has impacted generations of fans. Forty years later, everyone who wrote the songs will finally be paid through ASCAP and BMI, with the remaining proceeds going to charity.

The project is Flanagan’s way of honoring the music, its creators, and the fans who have carried these songs forward for four decades while putting the past behind him. The songs belong to the fans. Love wins. The quarrel is over.

The history of Harley Flanagan and his band CRO-MAGS is integral not just to the history of hardcore, but to modern metal, rock, and punk itself. With roots stretching from the shadow of Warhol and the Velvets to CBGB’s hardcore matinees and L’Amour Brooklyn thrash-a-thons, all the way through current generations of punk and extreme metal, CRO-MAGS are the connective tissue. Just ask the likes of Dave Grohl, Green Day, and Turnstile. CRO-MAGSstand side by side with Black Sabbath, Motörhead, and Metallica as both an influence and a gamechanger.

The brainchild of a 14-year-old Harley Flanagan, CRO-MAGS began in 1981 while Flanaganwas playing drums for The Stimulators. By 1982/83, he had recorded the primal CRO-MAGSdemos — four songs that would become the blueprint for the seminal 1986 release, 'Age of Quarrel.' Initially a solo vision, Flanagan wrote and played all of the music himself. In 1985, alongside guitarist Parris Mayhew, vocalist John Joseph McGowan, and drummer Mackie Jayson, the genre-defining 'Age of Quarrel' demo was recorded. The full-length album followed in 1986, with Doug Holland of Kraut joining on second guitar.

Explosive both on and offstage, CRO-MAGS have had a tumultuous history, to put it mildly. Through multiple lineups, six studio albums beyond the original demos, and more than four decades of worldwide touring, CRO-MAGS remain one of the most iconic bands in American hardcore and metal.

EIVØR - finds solace within the imperfect in new song 'Spøkilsir / Revenants'

Faroese luminary singer-songwriter Eivør has unveiled a new track from her upcoming studio project, Tungl, due out on October 16th. Today's release Spøkilsir / Revenants weaves hypnotic dream-pop and trip-hop textures into an evocative meditation on embracing the ghosts of our past.

Eivør conveys about the song:
“In ‘Spøkilsir / Revenants,’ we find relief in the imperfect.

I think we all carry ghosts. Things in the past we would have liked to have handled differently or little flaws within ourselves we try to hide from the world. But often when we learn to fully embrace each other’s flaws, quirks and darker sides, they become endearing. We become more patient and forgiving, not only towards each other, but also towards ourselves.”

Eivør adds:

“The music video was created by my dear friend Gwenaël Akira, whose enthusiasm and dedication always make working with him inspiring. We wanted to create an inner world, a reflection of the voices, shadows and different versions of ourselves that live inside our heads. Gwenaël conceived a mirrored box, almost like a room inside the mind, and an incredible team of artists in the Faroe Islands brought it to life.”

Director Gwenaël Akira adds:
“At the heart of Spøkilsir was one constructed room: a space where one body could become many and reflections could express what cannot easily be said. Finding the emotional truth within those images with Eivør was a very special process.”

Whether you’re already embedded into Eivør’s ever-expanding world or yet to fall under its spell, Tungl is a far-reaching journey of discovery.

Tungl – a Faroese word for ‘moon’ – sees Eivør reach further into elemental realms than ever before. Immersive, unmoored and steeped in a sense of time-stretched drama where familiar marker points give way as an inner compass emerges over its 10 searching tracks, it’s an album also in tune with a very contemporary need for navigation, self-belief and rejuvenation in the most uncertain of times.

Eivør spent this summer performing across Europe, presenting a select number of headline concerts and appearing at leading festivals including Paléo Festival, Brutal AssaultSummer Breeze and ArcTanGent.

To celebrate the release of Tungl, Eivør will present three special album release concerts in October. Eivør will be playing two consecutive nights at Nordic House in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, on 16 and 17 October, before she returns to Harpa's Eldborg Hall in Reykjavík, Iceland, on 23 October for a unique performance featuring special guest musicians in one of the Nordic region's most iconic concert halls. These intimate events will offer audiences a rare opportunity to experience Tungl performed in a special setting before Eivør embarks on her extensive international tour.

Eivør will also be undertaking an extensive headline tour across North America later this year, and across Europe and the UK into 2027.

For over two decades, Faroese artist Eivør has been regarded as one of the most bewitching and fearless voices to have emerged from the Nordic music scene. Ranging across rock, pop noir, jazz and folk to electronica over the course of 11 solo albums, various collaborations, live albums and soundtrack work including The Last Kingdom, God of War and God of War Ragnarök, her musical path has revealed both a restless, explorative spirit and a singer deeply connected to her Faroese roots, earning her the Nordic Council Music Prize along the way.

It’s testament to the singular yet universal nature of her music that her fanbase has grown to include metalheads and the Norse pagan folk scene – for whom her startling voice, hide drum and throat-chant incantation, Trøllabundin, has become an unofficial anthem – as well as the mainstream, all instinctively understanding that music coming from a place of true authenticity knows no boundaries.

If Eivør’s last album, Enn, marked the beginning of a darker, more atmospheric phase, her forthcoming release, Tungl – the Faroese word for ‘moon’ – and her first for the powerhouse German metal label Nuclear Blast, sees her reach further into elemental realms than ever before. Immersive, unmoored and steeped in a sense of time-stretched drama where familiar marker points give way as an inner compass emerges over its 10 searching tracks, it’s an album also in tune with a very contemporary need for navigation, self-belief and rejuvenation in the most uncertain of times.

As Eivør herself says:

“Tungl explores the ever-changing cycles of life – its songs move between moments of tenderness and heartache, love and loss, and the emotional tides that shape us. Like the moon that inspired its title, Tungl serves as a gentle guide through life’s darker passages, illuminating the beauty, resilience, and transformation found along the way.”
