Sainthood Reps Release New Single "Dizzy" + Announce Upcoming Album "Dull Bliss" via Smartpunk Records

Sainthood Reps announce their new album "Dull Bliss" coming out on September 26 via Smartpunk Records. Since the late 2000s, Sainthood Reps have been known for their unique and dreamy blend of grunge, post-hardcore, and shoegaze; their mastery in the genre is more evident than ever on their new single "Dizzy" below.

According to the band, each song on the new album is either about dullness, pure bliss, a juxtaposition of those two feelings, or how those feelings can be one in the same.

Speaking about the new single, Sainthood Reps vocalist and guitarist Cesco Montesanto shares, "This is the last song we wrote for the record, and it almost didn't make it. It started out much heavier, but then drifted into Gin Blossoms/Nada Surf territory. A lot of my lyrics revolve around anxiety in some way, and this song is no different. Specifically, it’s about the anxiety I get when I try to open my mouth to talk to anybody about anything whatsoever."

Sainthood Reps have been known for their unique blend of grunge, post-hard, and shoegaze since the late 2000’s. After releasing Monoculture in 2011, Headswell in 2013, and a couple of singles here and there, the band spent several years pursuing other projects before eventually regrouping during COVID. Since 2022, the band has been in and out of the studio compiling new music that marks a definitive step forward without straying too far from their signature sound. 

Sainthood Reps consists of Derrick Sherman, Cesco Montesanto, Bradley Cordaro, and Jani Zubkovs, with Chris Smith featuring in live performances.

Sowulo Chase the Dying Light on "Sōl ond Māni"

For the past 15 years, Faber Horbach has traced our connection with the sun through the music of Sowulo, but his upcoming concept album  journeys into darkness. Written while grieving the loss of both his father and stepfather, the new single from NIHT is a mythopoetic lament. Looking to Norse cosmology,  "Sōl ond Māni" explores the loss of both light and life by using a broken instrument to give death a voice.

Sowulo will make their grand return to Castlefest this Friday, August 1.

"Sōl ond Māni" takes inspiration from Scandinavian mythology. Carried along over a slow pounding of drums by carnyx, tagelharpa and other ancestral instruments, grieving vocals tell the story of the Sun and the Moon being chased by two mythological wolves until the time of Ragnarök. Moving from whispered incantation to feral howl, the song descends into a place where myth, memory and mourning coalesce.

"The wolves will catch the sun and moon when that fated time comes and their light will spill like blood until there will be no light left", Horbach says. "This will leave the world in fimbulwinter, when only darkness and conflict remains".

Last year, Horbach lost both his father and stepfather. Their absence echoes throughout "Sōl ond Māni" through the sawing strings of a broken Nyckelharpa. This fiddle-like instrument accidentally fell onto the ground following one of Sowulo's live performances. "Writing this song became a way to give the death of this instrument a voice", Horbach continues. "To let it sing through its brokenness and turn that into something meaningful".

Sowulo is the evocative musical work of Faber Horbach, blending the spiritual philosophy of ancient Northern Europe with the continuous cycles of the universe.
 

Through the use of a wide array of historical instruments, melancholic melodies, and philosophical lyrics in Anglo-Saxon, Sowulo crafts an immersive sonic landscape that invites listeners to embark on an inner journey.
 

Weaving together the sounds of instruments like the Carnyx, Nyckelharpa, Celtic Harp, Shaman drums, Blow horns, Irish Bouzouki, Taglharpa, Lyre, Viola and various traditional vocal techniques, Sowulo shapes its distinctive sound.
 

The name "Sowulo," meaning "Sun" in Proto-Germanic, reflects the essence of the music. As we circle the sun, we feel the cyclical nature of life: day and night, the four seasons, birth and death, and the eternal dance between decay and renewal.

Masked metal insurgents Swollen Teeth have today unleashed their latest offering "Four Wars" and the official music video (via Blowed Out Records). The band describes the raw, unrelentingly intense track as "a closer look at our internal struggles", offering a glimpse into the personal struggles that fuel their uncompromising sound. Stockholm’s pioneering “dynamic root rock” outfit SIENA ROOT proudly present their second single and video, "Outlander (live)", from their monumental double live album Made in KuBa, releasing October 3, 2025 on Perception – A Division of Reigning Phoenix Music.

The audio was recorded during the band’s legendary March 2024 performances at Germany’s Kulturbahnhof in Jena—with every note captured straight to tape, no overdubs, and no safety net. Completed by footage capturing SIENA ROOT where they feel most at home—on stage—"Outlander" bursts with analogue intensity. The result is unfiltered, immediate, and vivid: a sonic journey from shadow into light, full of organic tension.

As the band explains:
“‘Outlander’ was the first song we worked on for our A Dream Of Lasting Peace album. It was one of those songs that came to us in a very natural way. The lyrics paved the way for the common thread that the rest of the album’s tracks would come to follow. A big part of that was how everyone in the band contributed to the songwriting—something that really defined the creative process this time around. This live recording features the extra energy and tension that the song deserves.”

High-Octane Hard Rockers BLACK WATER RISING Announce New Album 'The Edge' Due Out August 15th

Today, high-octane hard rockers BLACK WATER RISING are excited to announce the release of their new album, 'The Edge,' due out August 15th via their own imprint Capital T Productions. To celebrate the announcement, BWR has released their new single, "Slow Slide," alongside a music video, available below.

"Slow Slide" is the fifth single from the upcoming album 'The Edge,' and the video was once again directed by Tom Flynn (Lamb Of God, Buck Cherry).

 

Drummer Mike Meselsohn reflects on the single:

"It was great working with Tom again on this new video. The song is mainly about the descent into addiction, so we came up with the idea to use some Breaking Bad type of imagery as a loose concept to illustrate that theme. With that, Tom was also able to capture the live energy of the band while creating a visually stunning compliment to the song and lyrics!"

BLACK WATER RISING's fourth album, 'The Edge,' will be available on all digital platforms, with CDs offered through the merch store on their official website.

The album artwork and CD packaging were created by renowned stoner rock artist Mirkow Gastow, known for his work with Pentagram, Zakk Sabbath, Witchcraft, and many others. 'The Edge' also marks the band’s first release since their 2010 debut to feature original guitarist John Fattoruso, who rejoined BWR in late 2019.

Musically, the new material leans more melodic while staying true to the band’s riff-heavy foundation, delivering memorable hooks and choruses, all while carving out a sound that remains distinctly their own.

Singer/Guitarist Rob Traynor comments on the album:

“It’s been a while since our last album, so we’re beyond psyched to be releasing more new music! We’ve dropped some singles over the last few years, and now the rest of the album is done and ready to roll. I also tried a few different things in the studio, with a slightly fuzzier guitar tone—but overall, it’s the same BWR sound you’ve come to expect, just with even more riffs and rants this time around!”

Orbit Culture Release "Hydra" Video

Sweden’s Orbit Culture are releasing "Hydra," the third single taken from their upcoming album, Death Above Life, which arrives October 3.

The band comments, "With 'Hydra,' we dove even deeper into the heavy tunings we explored on our previous single, 'Death Above Life.' Lyrically, it’s a raw and unfiltered track about cutting ties — direct, honest, and uncompromising. The song was written during a period of intense stress and frustration and channeling that emotion onto paper felt like a necessary release."

They continue, "Visually, we drew inspiration from the vast, cinematic atmosphere of the Dune films. That same sense of scale is echoed in the production — distorted, low-tuned cellos, and thunderous drums that feel like something massive is coming. idsungwüssä, to be released on September 26 via Pelagic Records, is the third and final chapter of a series of ambitious concept albums.

Still staged in the gritty atmosphere and philosophical weight of post-metal, sludge, and ambient noise, idsungwüssä sees Abraham march even further into dissonant and defiant territory.

"The three albums are clearly linked together thematically," the band comments. "Although, rather than an additional chapter, idsungwüssä is more like a parallel narrative to Débris de mondes perdus. The latter was a jump in time after Look, Here Comes the Dark!, whereas idsungwüssä is a jump in space, a journey away from Earth. It should be the final piece of this little jolly ride."
 
This album isn't just heavy — it is absolutely drenched in delicious filth, and yet by embracing even more the melodic interludes and melancholic passages, they create a devastating contrast to the wall of power coming from stacked guitars, catastrophic drums, and raging, sharp vocals delivered in Swiss-German dialect.
 
"The album was recorded between November 2024 and February 2025, all while handling our day jobs and in a period that was, on a personal level, not the easiest for some of us. It is only in the last two weeks of the recording process, right before sending it out to mixing, that it sort of came together and started to feel like a coherent album, an album that we could be happy and proud about. For an album with change/transformation as an underlying theme, this is sort of performative!"
 
This urgency and duress bleeds into every song, an hour-long journey that moves from the grim to sublime, from melancholy to raw destruction — evoking ruined civilizations and the last wails of fractured psyches. Yet there is something less bleakly human, more ethereal at moments, as if glimpsing beyond the constraints of the body and its wheel of flesh and death.

Strewn throughout the record are appearances of Farfisa Louvre organ — prominently featuring on an Abraham album for the first time. The band were also joined by Kevin Galland (Coilguns), who added additional Moog and piano parts. 

The band continues, "Our approach to recording guitars was different than what we did before. Instead of having one guitar on the left playing a part and one on the right playing another part, we decided that left and right guitars were to play the same part, and the center guitar was to play another part. We just stacked more guitars whenever we needed. And oh did we use a lot of reverb, too!"
 
The structures and movements of the songs found within idsungwüssä are unique and fresh. A balancing of themes and emotions that is both intoxicating and unsettling, it is an immersive journey that rewards deep listening and challenges the boundaries of genre. From the patient grandeur of coming extinction, to the chaos and fevered urgency of the aftermath, in idsungwüssä Abraham move forward from prophetic lamentation to an elegiac visceral response. Beyond Creation Announce 15th Anniversary Tour

Before appearing out of the Canadian woodwork back in 2011, Beyond Creation had already undergone multiple permutations. But with the band's full-length debut, the Montréal four-piece quickly revealed themselves as the next evolution in technical death metal. With microscopic precision, The Aura splices together classic brutality and prog's insatiable curiosity with a refreshing knack for melody. The resulting triple helix has been encoded in the genre's DNA ever since. 

As they prepare to return to the recording lab for the first time since being nominated for a JUNO Award, today, Beyond Creation are announcing a special tour to commemorate the 15th anniversary of The Aura. This tour marks the first time that the band will perform the entire album in full.

HOWARD JONES CELEBRATES 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF BEST-SELLING ALBUM, LIMITED EDITION DOUBLE VINYL OF NEW WAVE ICON HOWARD JONES’ “DREAM INTO ACTION”

In honor of the 40th anniversary of the release of new wave icon Howard Jones’ best-selling album, DREAM INTO ACTION, Cherry Red Records is set to release a limited edition orange-colored double vinyl on August 22nd. Dubbed “Farmyard Sessions,” the 20 track double LP contains 16 tracks that were previously only available on the bonus CD of 2018’s sold-out DREAM INTO ACTION Superdeluxe box set. These tracks were recorded at Farmyard Studios in the UK and have not been made available since 2018. An additional four tracks include special mixes and versions. The artwork contains previously unseen images from the original DREAM INTO ACTION photo shoot with Simon Fowler. Please see below for the double vinyl track listing. Please click here to pre-order;

Howard Jones’ groundbreaking 1985 album, DREAM INTO ACTION, peaked at #2 in the UK charts and cracked the US Top 10. It went on to spawn global hit singles, “Things Can Only Get Better” (which experienced a resurgence after being featured on an episode of Netflix’s Stranger Things) and “No One is to Blame” as well as “Life in One Day” and “Like to Get to Know You Well”.

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of DREAM INTO ACTION, Howard Jones will soon embark on a global tour. The tour kicks off in the United States in September and will feature support from alternative pop favorites, Haircut 100 with SiriusXM First Wave DJ Richard Blade opening the show with his world-renowned DJ set (line-up for the United States only). The United States tour dates kick off at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Tuesday, September 2nd. Please see below for the global itinerary to date. 

1985 was also the year Jones performed at Live Aid, Wembley Stadium, alongside such legendary acts as David Bowie, Paul McCartney, and Phil Collins. Earlier that same year in February, Jonesperformed live, keytar in hand, at the Grammy Awards from L.A.’s Shrine Auditorium with Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock and Thomas Dolby as part of the “Synthesizer Showdown,” performing a medley of their hits. 

Electronic music pioneer Howard Jones has been a constant presence on the international touring scene for the past four decades, playing live in a number of different configurations including intimate solo shows and dates with his full high-tech band set-up. He first burst upon the contemporary music scene in 1983, with his very English songwriting and pioneering synthesizers with “New Song”. THE SORROW OF BEING IMMACULATE Announce 'Suicide Forest' and Release Title Track

Emerging once again from the shadows of rural Britain, anonymous solo project THE SORROW OF BEING IMMACULATE has announced the release of their new full-length album Suicide Forest, arriving September 26, 2025 via Drone Alone. Alongside the announcement, the title track "Suicide Forest" is now available for streaming. 

Written and recorded in solitude in a remote Welsh barn during winter 2024, Suicide Forest is an instrumental descent into psychological ruin, framed by loops of distorted guitar, subterranean bass, and meditative drones. The album’s eleven tracks move between suffocating sludge and eerie ambience, rooted in themes of trauma, detachment, and the long half-life of sorrow. There are no vocals. No catharsis. Just the sound of emotional erosion played at full volume.

The title track, "Suicide Forest," takes its name from Japan’s Aokigahara Forest, a place both feared and mythologized. Here, the song becomes an abstract tribute to those spaces where despair and silence meet. What begins as a crushing riff slowly unravels into layered interference, reverse guitars, and bleak repetition. It’s not a journey out, it’s a slow march inward.

The album was engineered and co-mixed by Mike Bannard at Safehouse Studios, Oxford, with mastering, artwork, and production handled by THE SORROW OF BEING IMMACULATE themselves. The result is a record that feels more exorcism than expression—music created not for others, but in spite of everything.

Suicide Forest follows 2024’s Church Music for Satanists EP, which gained underground attention for its immersive gloom and hypnotic minimalism. The new album expands on that aesthetic while deepening its emotional range and sonic intensity.

THE SORROW OF BEING IMMACULATE is an anonymous solo project from Oxford, England, crafting bleak, instrumental sludge and drone since 2023. With no vocals, no public identity, and no live appearances, the music exists in complete isolation: just distortion, repetition, and emotional exhaustion.

Emerging from the Welsh countryside with the debut EP Church Music for Satanists in early 2024, THE SORROW OF BEING IMMACULATE quickly established a signature sound: hypnotic, heavy, and relentlessly minimal. Stoned Jesus Shine Mightily on "Shadowland"

Whether climbing to doomy peaks or bouldering through a radio-friendly banger, over the course of the past decade and a half, Stoned Jesus have left a mark on the world of rock as true trailblazers. "Five albums in, the band have grown well beyond their monolithic roots", wrote Doom Charts, who named their last album one of the 2023's best.

This year, following a successful showing at Hellfest and ahead of their long-awaited return to Latin America, Stoned Jesus are embarking on their most expansive journey yet. Songs to Sun is the first in an upcoming trilogy of albums that promises to take these heavy progressive rockers to the dark side of the moon and back. While well-marked by their mind-melting heaviness, the album's lead single is haunted by shadows of doubt. But on "Shadowland", frontman Igor Sydorenko and his new mates outrun their demons with fresh twists and the catchiest hooks of their career. 

"This song is about finding solid ground amidst the instability of the past few years", Sydorenko says. "The opening hook screams Alice In Chains, while the pulsating verses evoke Mastodon at their poppiest. And the climax is something else entirely!"

Fans of Stoned Jesus will catch nods to Seven Thunders Roar and The Harvest along the heavy path paved by Songs to Sun. Though the video opens with the band only coming into frame, "Shadowland" is clearly their vision. A grungy riff slithers over a mountainous bass line scooped out by newest member Andrew Rodin. Fellow newcomer Yurii Ciel snaps into a hi-hat strut, greasing the way for Sydorenko to slide into the band's catchiest guitar lick since "Here Come The Robots".  

"Each album in our upcoming trilogy highlights a different phase to Stoned Jesus", Sydorenko says. "Songs to Sun shows off our heavier, more aggressive side".

Stoned Jesus' new single does ride to a mean, road-burning groove. But "Shadowland" has some new tricks tucked between its blinding hooks. "We love to take influences from other musical genres", says Sydorenko. "I like prog rock, while Andrew and Yurii like everything from black metal to hip-hop and folk". As the band wind their way back to the song's shout-aloud chorus, first, they must sift through a glowing mist cast by a gothic spell of keys.  

An existential shadow hangs over Songs to Sun. The album reflects on the unstable ground that Sydorenko navigated after the band's previous lineup dissolved. Like the mysterious figures that creep and crawl around every corner of the video, insecurity looms over "Shadowland"."Ground under my feet is / Turning to quicksand", Sydorenko sings right before the compressed bridge cuts out. But even when shrouded by depression, Stoned Jesus are guided by the spirit of innovation. Right as their new lineup comes fully into focus at the end of the video, the song's closing sprint breaks toward the light with a high-powered fusion of pop melodies and headbanging prog.      
   
"There's a constant sense of instability that seeps through the lyrics of Songs to Sun", Sydorenko says, "but experimenting with the music is what helps give our lives a solid foundation".

Irish Emo Duo GREYWIND Announces New Album ‘Severed Heart City’ Out September 19th via FLG

As the release of their long-awaited new album ‘Severed Heart City’ draws ever closer, Irish brother-sister duo GREYWIND has revealed a further preview of the emo epic. Titled "Moon," the track draws upon Earth’s natural satellite as a universal reminder of the connections that bind us to those we love, defying distance and time.

Guitarist Paul O’Sullivan says,

“We had ‘Moon’ written before our first album was even released, so it’s been a song that has been through a lot with us, and we can’t wait for it to finally be free for the world to hear. It’s a song about longing for someone and hoping they’re thinking about you too.”

Vocalist Steph O’Sullivan adds,

“I always picture myself sitting on a windowsill, looking up at the moon and dreaming that the person I’m thinking about is doing the exact same thing at that moment. If you’re in a long-distance relationship or even a friendship with someone far away, it’s comforting to look at the moon knowing they’re under it too.”

GREYWIND’s second album ‘Severed Heart City’ will be released September 19th via FLG. Having heralded the start of a new era earlier this year with epic emo cuts, "Acid Rain" and "I.K.A.M.F.." the brother-sister duo recently announced the full-length alongside the release of another arena-ready anthem which will also appear on the record, titled "Waterfall."

Getting to this point has been more than a rollercoaster for GREYWIND, whose debut album ‘Afterthoughts’ was released in 2017 via a major label who promptly dropped them despite the band’s ultra-promising “Ones To Watch” status. Florida-based progressive metal innovators KAUPE have released the first single from their upcoming full-length album Destroyer of Worlds, due out October 17, 2025 via Morbid Subculture. The track, titled "RMR-1029", is now accompanied by a gripping new music video.

“RMR-1029” marks a turning point for KAUPE, a band known for their instrumental intensity. This time, they’ve enlisted legendary vocalist Scott Angelacos (BLOODLET, JUNIOR BRUCE, HOLLOW LEG) and sample artist Viewer Discretion (formerly of ACP PRO) to help craft a ferocious statement on the breakdown of reality in the age of technological overload. Arriving hot off the back of a 17-date national tour supporting THY ART IS MURDER, 'Picking Scabs' sees MÉLANCOLIA dive deeper into the world of nu-metal while continuing to blur the edges of metalcore and deathcore. 'Picking Scabs' follows recent singles 'ALL_IS_RUST' and 'SPIT!', featuring Chris Mackertich of DREGG, both of which signalled an evolution in the band’s sound, introducing new vocal textures and their first-ever guest collaboration. Their new music adds another layer to the dark atmosphere MÉLANCOLIA are becoming known for and were written to be played live, specifically to cater for sing alongs, mosh pits and stage dives.

All songs were produced by GWAR and mastered by Alan Douches. The release also includes a 32-page comic detailing Gor Gor’s return, which is included with all versions. Before We All Die” CLAWFINGERs first studio album in 18 years, arrives February 20, 2026 on Perception. Loud, furious, darkly humorous and brutally honest, it's everything you forgot you needed — and exactly what you'd expect from a band that never cared much for subtlety.

“This isn’t about finding peace,” singer Zak Tell says. “It’s about telling the truth — even when it’s ugly. Especially then.”

From environmental collapse to political hypocrisy, personal disillusionment to collective denial, this is CLAWFINGER at full volume — still pissed off, still sharp as ever, and still refusing to shut up while the world pretends it’s all fine.

Already released, the single "Scum" sets the tone: zero tolerance for corrupt leadership, fake morality, or the rising tide of right-wing garbage. It’s not a love song — unless you really love rage and distortion.

About CLAWFINGER

 

CLAWFINGER are considered pioneers of European rap-metal. Formed in Stockholm in the early 1990s, the Swedish-Norwegian band made an explosive debut with Deaf Dumb Blind (1993), blending aggressive guitar riffs with politically charged lyrics and rap vocals. The album sold over 600,000 copies worldwide – more than 250,000 in Germany alone – and won a Swedish Grammis award in the hardrock/metal category.

 

CLAWFINGER’s follow-up Use Your Brain [1995] continued their success with chart placements across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Sweden. Over the years, they released seven studio albums including A Whole Lot Of Nothing, Zeros & Heroes, Hate Yourself With Style, and Life Will Kill You, selling over 1.5 million records worldwide.
