APOSTLE Announces New Single “Illusion of Loss”

APOSTLE unveils their latest single, “Illusion of Loss,” a dynamic and emotionally charged composition that offers a glimpse into the band’s forthcoming full-length album, A Splinter in the Infinite Noumenon, arriving June 5, 2026 via Terminus Hate City.

“Illusion of Loss” begins with a sharp, brief breath before an angular and moody guitar and bass melody settles over a plodding, swinging half-time drum groove. Murice White's vocal cadence moves fluidly within the arrangement, locking into the rhythm as the song unfolds. A sudden, deliberate drop in intensity introduces an arpeggiated and introspective passage driven by a rolling snare, gradually building toward a release carried by a mid-tempo blast beat.

The track expands in scope as Murice’s tremolo-picked lead cuts through with urgency while his vocals rise in intensity. Michael’s bass provides a steady melodic anchor, shaping the mood beneath shifting textures. A discordant, arpeggiated lead slices through the mix while Evan’s drumming shifts into a driving double bass pattern that pushes the song forward before returning to a reprise of its opening movement. The closing moments feature a distorted spoken sample describing barely livable conditions in a city, extending the song’s thematic reach outward.

“Illusion of Loss” reflects on the fragility of life, the isolation that can accompany grief, and the internal changes that follow. The song draws from the experience of personal loss and the emotional weight that lingers in its wake. It considers how loss reshapes identity, how it brings forward buried parts of oneself, and how memory can guide purpose moving forward. The connection between individual grief and shared human experience remains central throughout.

The album title references Carl Jung’s description of humanity as a “splinter in the infinite deity,” framing the record as an exploration of spiritual duality, grief, and self-examination. Across six tracks and 27 minutes, the band move through themes of loss, mortality, internal conflict, and eventual healing. The record serves as both a meditation on the human condition and a deeply personal tribute shaped by grief and remembrance.

Haste the Day Are "Adrift" — WATCH + LISTEN

HASTE THE DAY, the metalcore band that made a scene splash in the '00s, returned in 2024 with the new song "Burn" and an appearance at Furnace Fest. It was their first new music in nearly a decade.

But they didn't stop there.

Haste The Day conjure the sound of coming full circle. UADA Streams New Acoustic Album 'Interwoven' Ahead of Physical Release, Kicks Off North American Tour

As promised, enigmatic black metal horde UADA is now streaming its new acoustic album 'Interwoven' in its entirety below!

While the original April 10 release date is still being honored digitally, the physical copies will not be shipped until late May due to delays at the manufacturing plant. The album represents an acoustic journey tracing one song from each chapter of UADA's discography as well as various covers from the bands who've inspired them. In addition, UADA is now hitting the road! The band has joined forces with industrial metal artist MORTIIS for a very special co-headliner, featuring exclusive anniversary sets and supporting performances by Jerome Reuter’s ROME and WRAITH KNIGHT. The 'Devoid of Light (10th Anniversary Edition)' returns in an expanded form. Remastered by Arthur Rizk, who previously handled mixing and mastering for UADA's sophomore album 'Cult of a Dying Sun' and mastering for the acoustic album 'Interwoven,' the material gains depth without losing the character of the original recordings. This edition also includes previously unseen photography by Peter Beste, alongside rare archival material, expanded liner notes, and an exclusive bonus track. ATREYU Unleashes New Single "Children Of Light" Featuring Max Cavalera + Visualizer

Today, while gearing up for their spring tour supporting Sevendust, ATREYU are excited to unleash their new single, "Children Of Light," featuring the legendary Max Cavalera. The new track is taken from ATREYU's upcoming album, 'The End is Not the End,' set for release on April 24, 2026 via Spinefarm.

On the new single, ATREYU comments:

"'Children of Light' was created with a primal spirit in mind. A 'festival' song. Heavily inspired by classic Sepultura, though it seemed like an untouchable ask, we wanted Max involved. We’re honored to share this song with a legend."

‘The End is Not the End' is undeniably ATREYU’s heaviest album ever and their most adventurous. “We realized what made ATREYU great in the beginning was that we didn’t sound like anyone else,” frontman Brandon Saller explains. “We didn’t really make sense anywhere. We weren’t an emo band, a metal band, a punk band — but somehow it all worked. We kind of just carved our own path.”

Guitarists Dan Jacobs and Travis Miguel, bassist Porter McKnight, drummer Kyle Rosa, and Saller created several of 'The End is Not the End'’s songs on creative trips.

“Tokyo made us feel like kids again,” Saller says. “We’d write for a few hours in the morning, then go out and get lost in all this inspiration. The first song we finished was ‘Dead,’ and we knew we were onto something.” 

After the Japanese sessions, the band and their producer decamped to San Juan Island off the coast of Washington, where isolation became a creative accelerant. “It was the polar opposite of Tokyo. We didn’t leave the house for four days and wrote some of the heaviest songs on the record.” 

The result is an album that feels simultaneously classic and unfamiliar, aggressive and unselfconscious, deeply emotional and unconcerned with trends. Produced by Matt Pauling, ATREYU’s tenth album is vibrant, inventive, and beautifully aggressive.

“It’s our heaviest, most metal record we’ve made,” Saller points out. “But it’s also the biggest musical journey we’ve taken in years.” 

The album moves seamlessly from soaring melodic heft to muscular metallic weight, with cinematic shades and atmosphere, all tied together by a driving, raw intensity. Tracks like “Dead,” “Ghost in Me,” “Children of Light (featuring Max Cavalera),” and “Afterglow”sound both timely and timeless.

With "Blanche réalité," post-hardcore vets IMPURE WILHELMINA offer the second glimpse into Le sanglot, their upcoming new album and first entirely in French.

"Blanche réalité" (White Reality) maps a state of persistent, low-grade alienation: a person going through the motions of daily existence, disoriented at the center of a world from which all warmth has been subtracted. The song finds its biographical root in a winter hike Impure Wilhelmina vocalist and guitarist Michael Schindl took, during which he nearly lost himself in the fog. That real, physical experience of erasure sits at the core of the song's emotional logic, grounding an otherwise interior state in something concrete and felt.

The video for "Blanche réalité" extends the song's territory rather than illustrating it. Shot entirely on location in fog-bound natural landscapes with no band performance, the video follows a solitary figure moving through mist-consumed fields and bare woodland without ever arriving anywhere. The palette is almost entirely de-saturated, with animals functioning as the visual counterpart to the lyrics: present, unreachable, moving through the fog with a purposefulness the human figure lacks. Only in the final seconds does color return, a handful of amber leaves around water, an image that offers no clear resolution.

Brazilian Rockers ELECTRIC MOB Share New Live Version of "4 letters" + Official Video

Brazilian rock trio ELECTRIC MOB are proud to share the new live version of "4 letters," taken from the upcoming digital deluxe edition of their sophomore album '2 Make U Cry & Dance,' set for release on July 10th via Frontiers Music Srl. The digital deluxe edition will feature the full studio release alongside six live tracks performed at Capital Moto Week 2024.

Hailing from Curitiba, Brazil, the band burst onto the scene like a mad dog on the loose with their debut album 'DISCHARGE' (2020). "Lyrically, this song is an expression of trying to understand the difference between love and desire," says singer Travis Opal. "The feeling of fulfillment that certain social and romantic relationships can give a person, etching them into feeling a sense of community and/or belonging. But trying to understand where that intent comes from within."

As for the song itself, Opal shares, "The production was created using a lot of the live drum samples we made and fiddling with live percussion and guitar performances. Blending that in with a wide array of synth landscapes that we recorded in our home studio."
 
Overall, Avoidance finds hey thanks. stepping back from trying to explain everything and sitting in the uncertainty instead.
 
 Across these songs, nothing fully resolves. Moments repeat, thoughts loop, and meaning stays just out of reach. It lives in that in-between space, caught between experience and understanding.
 
As mentioned by Opal, Avoidance was recorded in their home studio. The album took shape piece by piece using live drum samples, layered percussion, guitar performances, and dense synth work, giving Avoidance its character. The band allowed the songs to unfold naturally, arriving somewhere more honest in the process.
 
Built on synth layers, live percussion, and bright, driving rhythms, the songs move with a steady pulse while never fully settling. There is a constant push and pull throughout, something that feels light on the surface but carries weight underneath.
 
Rather than offering clarity, Avoidance stays with the questions.

The long-established German death metal ensemble FLESHCRAWL has signed a worldwide deal with Distortion Music Group (DMG) - Powered by Reigning Phoenix Music. The signing marks a new chapter as the band prepares to unveil their tenth studio album, Epitome of Carnage on June 12, 2026. FLESHCRAWL's obliterating new single "Blood Dominion" marks the first release under this collaboration, following a series of prior releases that saw select DMG roster artists issued via Reigning Phoenix Music.

Swedish Gothic Doom Entity DRACONIAN Drop "Misantrophe River" Video

Swedish gothic doom metal entity DRACONIAN reveal their new single, "Misantrophe River," the second offering cut from their upcoming full-length, In Somnolent Ruin, to be released on May 8 via Napalm Records. "Misantrophe River" confronts listeners in true DRACONIAN fashion with life's hardest questions, exploring feelings of alienation when swimming against the stream, and the search for direction in unfamiliar territory.

The undisputed leaders of the second wave of gothic doom metal are finally back — and they return in better shape than ever! In Somnolent Ruin promises to be one of the most personal records in DRACONIAN's discography, revealed through a dream-like journey across 9 tracks and the poetic lyricism of vocalist Anders Jacobsson. The new album also marks the return of long-time vocalist Lisa Johansson — the band's vocalist for their first five records.

"'Misanthrope River' was the first song written for this album. The initial idea goes back to the early days of Under a Godless Veil, but it remained dormant until work on this record began. It's an emotional gothic doom track- fairly minimalist, yet expansive in feel, with subtle touches that hint at post-metal and give the atmosphere a broader sense of depth. There's a suggestion of something ancient and mysterious running through it. Although interactive, at its core, the song deals with separation and isolation in a world where the larger truth has been kept from you and how those feelings slowly turn into resentment. You're pushing against the current wading upstream while doubting the way forward. In that struggle you'll be grasping at straws for any sense of peace while unintentionally shutting out the one closest to you. Shot in the Faroe Islands, the video places its actors within vast, striking landscapes. It was directed by Gaui H., the same director behind 'Cold Heavens.'"

“‘Graverobbers from Outer Space’ is one of my favorite songs on The Dark Overlords of the Universe”, The Ghoulstars guitarist Markus “Daddy Ghoul” Laakso says. “Horror movies are practically in my blood flow, especially quirky classics like Plan 9 from Outer Space. This song was written as a straightforward pile-driving tribute, though I can’t think of many punk rock songs that have a doomy C-part and güiro”.

Despite their ghostly appearance, The Ghoulstars are a collection of real talent. The band features an all-star cast of current and former members of death-doom royalty and Season of Mist labelmates Hooded Menace, stoner rockers Thermate and Finland’s Top Ten charting Kuolemanlaakso.

What bands these ghouls together on “Graverobbers from Outer Space” is their morbid fascination with classic cult cinema. Filmed in grainy black and white after Ed Wood’s own heart, the song’s music video leaps off the screen. Fellow horror aficionados will spot plenty of Easter eggs: Beetlejuice’s threads, the dashing and deadly Vampira, a flying saucer cited from a thinly veiled piece of string. The song’s infectious chorus will have even the crustiest of old metalheads barking at the moon. But it’s the dark and doomy riffs, followed by a mysterious presence of güiro, that add a delightfully unexpected twist to this monstrously catchy mash-up.  

The Dark Overlords of the Universe is a love letter to everything that blew our minds as kids”, Laakso says. “The album is loaded with huge riffs, big choruses, surprising curve balls and Easter eggs from old horror, sci-fi and coming-of-age movies. DUNCAN EVANS AND THE WEEPING STARLIGHT Present New Single "Deathless"

"Deathless" is the latest single from DUNCAN EVANS AND THE WEEPING STARLIGHT. An honest and open offering inspired by Evans' lived experience with mental health struggles, the track is taken from the forthcoming new album, The World is a War Zone, due September 18, 2026 via Widowbird Records.

Journeying through soundscapes and metaphors of encroaching storm clouds, floods of rainfall and lightning strikes, this intimate track explores the enduring battle and following upheaval when attempting to readjust to life post-diagnosis. "Deathless" confronts the life-reframing reality of mental illness and the want to experience life to the fullest. 

Constructed around a melancholic guitar ostinato, the track's instrumental layers steadily build joined by warm organ textures and an increasing rhythmic presence driven by percussion. The arrangement of "Deathless" leads into a memorable chorus with heightened emotive power across the instruments and lyrics as the storm gathers more intently. Across each verse, the intensity lightens briefly, providing a few moments to breathe before the atmosphere darkens once again.

The World is a War Zone marks the first full-length release under the name DUNCAN EVANS AND THE WEEPING STARLIGHT. Formed in 2022 to reflect the emergence of a committed three-piece lineup, the band channels intense post-punk dynamics through the dark and primal undercurrents of folk music. Across nine tracks and 45 minutes, the album explores faith, psychological upheaval, suffering and renewal, navigating the internal battlefields that shape modern existence while holding fast to the possibility of redemption.

UK alt-pop artist The Noise Who Runs presents 'Commercial Road', previewing the 'RE: GEN X' album, forthcoming via TNWR Records. A stark and confrontational snapshot of moral paralysis in an age that mistakes spectacle for substance, this song is set against the symbolic backdrop of a real street that becomes a metaphor for transaction, decay and quiet complicity. The song dissects a world where everything is for sale — bodies, truths, and even outrage itself.

The opening lines immediately establish a tone of uncomfortable intimacy, pulling the listener into scenes of exploitation and denial. Relationships are reframed as exchanges, identity as something eroded — whether through commodification (“trades promises for money”) or chemical numbness (“lithium disfigures what vanity implodes”). These are not just personal tragedies; they are symptoms of a broader cultural sickness, where the pursuit of profit renders the individual expendable, turning institutional failure into a practiced, daily routine.

The Noise Who Runs is songwriter, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Ian Pickering, known for his work with Sneaker Pimps and Front Line Assembly. Native to Hartlepool in the north-east of England, Pickering co-authored such Sneaker Pimps hits as 'Spin Spin Sugar', '6 Underground' and 'Tesko Suicide'. In 2019, he launched this project, three years after relocating to Lille, France.

“Commercial Road is not a protest song in the traditional sense, it does have a kind of pre-'Out of Time' R.E.M. thing about it, even a Dylanesque aspect but it doesn’t offer solutions or slogans. Instead, it holds up a mirror: cold, unsentimental, and accusatory. It asks what we tolerate, what we ignore, and what we quietly become as a result. In a culture addicted to noise, it’s maybe a reminder that the real danger isn’t the fire — it’s the absence of it where it counts,” says Ian Pickering.

Earlier, The Noise Who Runs shared the timely anti-war song 'The Bodies Are Under The Bus Again' and the lead track, 'Bang Bang'. Capturing the psychic exhaustion of life lived inside permanent crisis mode, this is a song about running on empty — physically, emotionally, politically — where outrage replaces thought and reaction substitutes for responsibility.

The Noise Who Runs' new offerings follow the 2024 EP ‘Come and Join the Beautiful Army’ and the 2023 debut album ‘Preteretrospective’, both released to rave reviews and airplay in more than 60 countries. As with those, the new record was mixed and mastered by Colin C at The Cell Studio.

'RE: GEN X' is both a reckoning and a reply — a response from within a generation that inherited progress, equality, and expanding liberty, but failed to defend them when they came under threat. Framed by the cultural optimism of late-1980s youth and the 1990s second summer of love, the album questions how a generation defined by scepticism, freedom, and possibility became comfortable with inaction as those gains were slowly dismantled and how scepticism hardened into detachment, irony replaced action, and silence came to feel like neutrality. Rather than nostalgia, it offers a critique of passivity: what happens when a generation knows better, but does nothing.

On RE: GENX, Pickering documents a civilization caught in a downward spiral of its own making. The album frames systemic greed, perpetual warfare, and the erosion of human dignity not as anomalies, but as the foundational mechanics of a world engineered for its own ruin. It serves as a cold assessment of a society fueled by the interests of the elite, leaving behind a singular, urgent uncertainty: whether a collective realization of this decay can actually dismantle the structures of power or if the momentum of destruction has become unstoppable.

On April 8, 'Commercial Road' is available from fine music platforms, including SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp. On May 8, the "RE: GEN X" album will be released via TNWR Records.

Bodysnatcher Release New Single "Plague Of Flies" And Official Music Video via MNRK Heavy

South Florida deathcore mainstays Bodysnatcher have unleashed their latest rager "Plague Of Flies" and the official video (via MNRK Heavy). The track is taken from their soon-to-be-released new album 'Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home', out this Friday, April 10. 'Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home' will be the band's fourth full-length and newest body of work since 2024's 'Vile Conduct', and promises to be their most furious and bloodthirsty work yet. Leading up to today, the quartet has released "Blade Between The Teeth", "The Maker", and most recently, "Violent Obsession". Speaking about "Plague Of Flies", guitarist Kyle Carter commented:

"To me, "Plague of Flies" is about giving in to the negativity and pain that the world brings, and becoming numb to the point where you welcome it and even add to it. This is one of the more exaggerated topics of the album. I don’t live in this headspace constantly, but there are times when I just want to say “fuck it, everyone else is an asshole, so I should be too.”

With the release of OPVS NOIR Vol. 3 this Friday, April 10, the band concludes the album trilogy that began in the summer of 2025. "The Days Of Our Lives" is a soulful and seemingly hopeless ballad, situated somewhere between a soundtrack and cold electronica, and, as the closing track, serves as the curtain call for the entire work.
