NYC art-rockers ECCE SHNAK share scintillating single 'Own’d Thyself' ahead of East Coast Tour

New York City’s madly radical art-rock quintet Ecce Shnak are back with a major-key, Buzzcocks-tinged, 2-and-a-half-minute-long sprinter 'Own’d Thyself', along with a high-spirited video capturing the band's infectious energy, vibrant performance and tour highlights.

Upping the ante, the band will also bring their unique blend of art-rock swagger, grunge muscle and theatrical performance to the masses with a nine-date East Coast Tour (November 11th through 20th).  Music lovers, philosophers and thrill seekers in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Quebec, Ontario, Maryland and New York state will be treated with their explosive performances.

This is Ecce Shnak's first string of live dates since three consecutive tours (West coast,East coast, and Great Britain) with UK music legends EMF, a relationship that also led them to feature on EMF's stellar single 'LGBTQ+ Lover'.

Formed in 2011, Ecce Shnak (pronounced “Eh-kay sh-knock”) is made up of David Roush (composer, bassist and baritone vocalist), Bella Komodromos (vocals), Chris Krasnow (guitar), Gannon Ferrell (guitar), and Henry Buchanan-Vaughn (drums). Known for their mind-blowing live shows, Ecce Shnak was forged in New York’s vibrant experimental music community, having developed a distinctive collision of art-rock ambition, grunge weight, theatrical songwriting, and experimental instincts.

With 'Own’d Thyself', singer-bassist-composer David Roush invites you to dance joyously while meditating on the moments people pointlessly mess up their own lives.  His lyrics skewer the standard bully that thinks he has managed to humiliate someone else, when really he has sewn the seeds of his own destruction. Not naming names, he takes aim at the likes of Tucker Carlson-type talking heads.

"In the Internet-brained parlance of our time, human beings have a puzzling habit of “owning ourselves.” Sometimes it’s terrible and heartbreaking. Sometimes it’s hilarious. Often it’s a weird mix of both," says David Roush. 

“After these bigoted blowhards have spent decades whipping alienated people into violently ignorant frenzy, some of them are finally realizing that the cruel system and ideology they have advocated for is harming them too. Let us pray for and work toward a world in which innocent people don’t get taken down by this ominicidql ideology, that only those who deserve their righteous comeuppance suffer it".

This single arrives on the trail of three singles from the album -- 'Vincent', 'Eddie, Legalistic Homeslice', and 'Anna O', featuring lyrics penned by Robin Kneubuhl(David Roush's mother) and channelling some serious grunge energy. In the video, directed by LA producer DJay Brawn, Ecce Shnak soprano Bella Komodromosplays Anna, who is entrapped in an asylum. Through an act of heroic resistance, she overthrows her abusive doctor, finally setting herself free.

In 2025, Ecce Shnak released their acclaimed 'Shadows Grow Fangs' EP, mixed by Nicholas Vernhes (Animal Collective, Deerhunter, Wild Nothing, War on Drugs) and mastered by Grammy award-winning engineer Joe LaPorta (David Bowie, The Weeknd, Foo Fighters, Vampire Weekend).

Thy Catafalque Release New Single “Cseremisz”

Today, the two-time Fonogram winner Thy Catafalque is releasing the third single single from its quietly expansive thirteenth album, XIII: Sárga erdő. “Cseremisz” is a folk song that never existed, built from traditional Hungarian instruments, a choir and familiar faces.

“In English, ‘Cseremisz means Cheremis”, explains Thy Catafalque visionary Tamás Kátai. “They are a Finno-Ugric people living along the river Volga in Russia. They are an ethnic minority in Mari El Republic and because of the Finno-Urgic roots they are relatives to Hungarian people. We have learned about them in primary school, and they have always been a very distant and mystical people to me.

“This song is a fictitious folk song from that region that could be connected to recent historical events as well”, Kátai continues. “We have some traditional instruments like citera and koboz here with accordion and a male choir together with Bálint Bokodi on vocals.”

On XIII: Sárga erdő (Yellow Forest), Kátai wanders through an old, half-remembered time from a quietly expansive direction. Thy Catafalque’s new album features more than 30 collaborators, including a 20-person choir and, for the first time in the project’s history, a live drummer. However, the folk and classical elements that flooded 2024’s XII: A gyönyörű álmok ezután jönnek are handled here with a lighter touch. Just as a forest doesn't explain its colors, the album turns inside you, until you look up to discover that you’re  somewhere new.  

“Cseremisz” moves across the steppe at night. A steppe-gull soars over the plain. The narrator is the wolf in the reeds and the fox in the meadow. A heart beats “like hooves on the steppe”, while a black ship drifts down the Volga with its soldiers asleep aboard. Only the pounding of hooves is awake in the dark, a headlong flight that somehow feels beautiful. The song closes on a line it repeats and does not soften: “A halál mögöttem száll, utolér” (“Death flies behind me, and overtakes”).

“Cseremisz” features the Male Choir of Tiszaföldvár, Bálint Bokodi on vocals, Anikó Barna on citera and koboz, Dmitry Karev on accordion, Dario Cei on flute and Árpád Szenti on drums.

Sárga erdő, out this autumn via Season of Mist, was recorded across various locations and at Miracle Sound Szeged with Gábor Vári again handling engineering, mixing and mastering. It marks another first for the project: real drums, played rather than programmed, for the first time in Thy Catafalque's history. Thirty-four musicians and vocalists appear across the record, along with a twenty-voice male choir, but the folk and classical textures that flooded XII—sitar, kamancheh, zither, strings—are handled with a lighter touch here, chosen with more precision for the moments that call for them. There's no unifying story across the twelve tracks, only that same felt sense of wandering through old, half-remembered time. A forest doesn't explain its colours—it just keeps turning them, until you look up and you're standing somewhere new.

With ‘Future In Utopia,’ STORMWARNING returns with their second album, once again showcasing the talent and unmistakable vocal presence of Santiago Ramonda. 

Building on the foundations of their debut, the new record takes the band's melodic hard rock sound to a more mature and confident level, combining powerful guitars, polished production, memorable melodies and an abundance of strong, hook-driven songwriting. 

The album was once again produced by Sergio Mazul and Marcelo Gelbcke, whose work helps give the record its powerful, polished, and contemporary sound.

Marcelo Gelbcke stated:

“’Future In Utopia’ represents a significant step forward for STORMWARNING. The songwriting and arrangements have matured, and the production is more elaborate, while the futuristic concept gives the album a stronger identity. ▽ reflects just how much has changed since the world last heard from Theodor Bastard. While the band are still recognized internationally as leaders for ritual folk and world music, on their new album, they’ve re-embraced their early electronic impulses because that’s how life feels now: cold, sharp, tense.

“Our sound changed because the world changed”, Svolotch explains. “We had to destroy our own habits and expectations to make ▽. We wanted to start again, as if the band has no past, no safe place, no ready-made formula. As a result, this album is not a continuation of what came before. It’s a different door”.

To a world that’s mired in its own deadly trance, ▽ arrives like a much needed slap across the face. However, compared to the album’s previous singles, “Ostavlyaem” dances to a fragile beat that preserves the ritual spirit that’s always at the heart of Theodor Bastard. Electronic marimba springs lightly between soft drum pads, grounded by vocalist Yana Veva, whose  melodies transcend our broken sphere to a place amongst the stars. “Оставляем всё своё земле / Всё своё траве / Всё своё здесь (We leave all that is ours to the earth / All that is ours to grass/ All that is ours to here)”.

“So much has surrounded us during recent years: the pandemic, war, division, fear, anxiety over technology, and a sense that reality itself is becoming darker and more unstable”, Svolotch says. “We have felt so much anger, pain, confusion and disappointment both in ourselves and in the world around us. All these emotions were gathering inside us, changing, darkening, searching for a form, until they eventually transformed into the unexpected on ▽”.

“Across ▽, darkwave, indietronica, post-punk and neo-psychedelia are not used as genre references. They are fused into a single world, where ritual presence and the physicality of live sound coexist”, Svolotch concludes. “It is unmistakably Theodor Bastard, but in a state of renewal, where the band’s recognizable identity becomes a starting point for transformation rather than a limit”.

US-based black metal duo STORMRULER establishes the worldbuilding of their forthcoming album Morning Nautical Twilight in the new single and video offering, "Chapter I. “The Sword, The Scepter and The Seal is a historical account told to the young wanderer by a scraggly old patron during the prologue of Morning Nautical Twilight. Beginning in the year 1142 F.A. TS3 takes place 2150 years before the rest of the record setting the course for the troubles that will come to haunt Aurelia and to give the listener a brief history on the origins of the Imperial Scepter. 

The piece itself weaves in a sonic assault of folk, power, black and death. Equipped with soaring leads, mountainous melodies and a blistering rhythmic attack it takes the listener on a journey through the early ages of Umbria and the forging of the Imperial Scepter in the glowing embers of the Lunar Pyre.”

Set in present-day Aurelia, "Chapter I. The Sword, The Scepter & The Seal" introduces the land, core characters and the overarching story of Morning Nautical Twilight. The abrasive quality of black metal collides with the warmth and emotive tones of folk instruments and bright melodies. About STORMRULER:

Born out of St. Louis, MO, the ferocious black metal duo STORMRULER is comprised of guitarist and vocalist Jason Asberry and drummer Jesse Schobel. Captivated by fantasy realms, the band's imagery and sonic design draw from this theme entwined with historical elements.

Void Sector Zero Release Twisted New Single "Extraterrestrial Disassembly"

After orbiting each other for years, three of extreme metal’s brightest burning stars are making a powerful creative explosion as Void Sector Zero. Heshers from across the extreme metal galaxy are marveling at the modern spin on progressive thrash metal that guitarist Christian Muenzner (Necrophagist, ex-Obscura, ex-Alkaloid), Gabe Seeber (Decrepit Birth, Abigail Williams, Carach Angren) and Alex Weber (Revocation, Malignancy, Exist) launch into the stratosphere on their debut album, Dead Space Enigma.

Today, Void Sector Zero are releasing the second advanced single from Dead Space Enigma. With a heavy dose of cosmic horror and guest vocals from Morean (Alkaloid, ex-Dark Fortress), “Extraterrestrial Disassembly” puts a  frighteningly fun twist on progressive technical trash metal.  

“‘Extraterrestrial Disassembly’ is about a DMT trip gone horribly wrong” Muenzner says. “Even though it’s the shortest song on Dead Space Enigma, it has lots of odd metric riffs, proggy riffs, a clean chorus and nods to hard rock and classic metal bands, specifically Coroner, Mercyful Fate, Annihilator, Helstar and Holy Moses”.

The stars of Void Sector Zero first crossed paths in 2022. Muenzner, Weber and Seeber hit it off while all three were playing together in Obscura during the world tour for A Valediction.

“I’ve always wanted to play tech-thrash”, Muenzner says. “When I decided to start my own band in this style, I thought of Alex and Gabe. Not only are they both great players, but I knew from our time in Obscura that we had great chemistry both on and off stage”.

Despite the band’s lengthy incubation period, Void Sector Zero hatch something out of this world on Dead Space Enigma. Loaded with thrashing riffs and Muenzner’s technically exquisite guitar solo, “Extraterrestrial Disassembly” unpacks a truly alien hypothesis: What on earth would happen if DMT was extracted from a dead person? Seeber’s warp-speed drumming leads to a mind-blowing conclusion.  

“Reality - forever altered”, Weber growls. Beneath Morean’s glowing harmonies, his groovy bass runs morph into a chorus so catchy it’ll beam into your skull like a signal sent from the deepest and darkest reaches of outer space.

“I am extremely excited to be creating music with Christian and Alex as Void Sector Zero”, Seeber says. “Playing with musicians of this caliber will push me to progress and become a better musician”.  

“Dead Space Enigma was a real blast to work on”, echoes vocalist and bassist Alex Weber. “Chris wrote a very demanding set of tunes that really pushed my bass and vocal techniques to new levels. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”.

ALIEN FAKTOR return after 28 years with defiant electro-industrial anthem 'Hanging by a Threat'

Electro-industrial music mavericks Alien Faktor return with 'Hanging by a Threat', a hard-hitting rage-fuelled anthem, attacking the news of the day with both emotion and insight.  Channeling political disillusionment into a defiant call to resist hatred, intolerance and fascism, this is the first single from 'Stockholm Syndrome', the band's first new album in 28 years.

Band founder Thomas L. Muschitz returned from a lenghty hiatus to confront the issues of the day and shout truth to the world, that something is very wrong here. Heavy guitar accentuates bombastic percussion and stomp worthy synth programming, accentuated by samples of revolution.

Founded in Milwaukee in the early 1990s by Thomas L. Muschitz, Alien Faktor developed a distinctive sound that blends industrial noise, electronic dance rhythms, soundtrack influences, and elements of metal. Following a run of releases on Muschitz’s own Decibel Records and a Top 25 placement on CMJ’s Dance Chart, Alien Faktor went on hiatus at the end of the 1990s.

Now based in Madison, Wisconsin and reunited with bandmate Mike Hunsberger on guitar and programming, the duo has re-emerged with new material capturing the zeitgeist of our modern society. In late 2025, inspired by his work in film and audio production, and disgusted with the state of the world, Thomas Muschitz began writing the first of many songs for their first album in almost 30 years.

Those sessions laid the creative groundwork for 'Stockholm Syndrome', ushering in a new chapter, retaining the project's foundations while directing its creative energy toward the present. 'Hanging By A Threat' transforms political despair into a musical act of defiance. Its message is direct: kindness is strength, violence is weakness, compassion is art, and hate is disease.

“I have felt sickened at the state of my nation, and to a larger extent, many of the same issues that seem to be infecting the world at large. Turning despair into anger, and clinging to the vestiges of hope, I did the one thing that i have always done. Create art. It was time to return, to raise my voice and speak loudly," says Thomas L. Muschitz.

"My deepest desire is that this song is a rally cry among many other voices, a reminder that the power resides in the people, and we need to fight injustice, intolerance, fear, hate and this insidious rise of fascism, each of us in their own unique way.”

On 'Stockholm Syndrome', Alien Faktor revisits its classic 1990s sound through dark, cerebral electro-industrial music, shaped by fresh influences and modern production. Hard beats, noise effects, EBM synths, textural guitars, and psychedelic atmospheres expand the project’s abrasive foundations into a broader, genre-bending sound.

Bringing in sonic richness, this album was mastered by the legendary Greg Reely, known for his work with pioneering industrial acts such as Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, numerous artists on the Nettwerk label, and other award-winning acts like Delerium, Fear Factory and Sarah McLaughlin.
 
Alien Faktor’s recording career launched in 1994 with 'Abduction', the first-ever release on Decibel Records, followed by 'Desolate' (1995), 'Final Expenses' (1996) and 'Listen!' (1996). Hunsberger joined Alien Faktor for the 1997 album 'Arterial Spray... and Cattle Mutilations', which reached No. 20 on CMJ’s Dance Top 25 in February 1998. Their music was also remixed by such renowned as Joseph Bishara (Drown), Seibold (Hate Dept) and Matt Green (Spahn Ranch). 

Recording at Chicago Trax, The Warehouse and their own Milwaukee studio, The Womb, Alien Faktor worked within Chicago’s industrial figures like Chris Randall (Sister Machine Gun) and Van Christie (Die Warzau). 

Alien Faktor has also earned recognition for remix work with Caustic, Purr Machine, Pain Station, Collide, Swamp Terrorists, Leather Strip, and Psychic TV, featuring Genesis P-Orridge, in addition to covering Alanis Morissette’s 'You Oughta Know' for the compilation 'Nod’s Tacklebox o’ Fun', released by Re-Constriction Records. More recently, Alien Faktor has covered MGMT's synth-heavy hit 'Time To Pretend'.

At the end of the 1990s, as the music landscape shifted for artists and labels amid broader changes in the music industry, Decibel Records closed their doors and Alien Faktor went on indefinite hiatus.

Tying the band's future and past, the album art for 'Stockholm Syndrome' was created by James Barany, painter and professor at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, who also created the renowned painting for the cover of 'Arterial Spray... and Cattle Mutilations'.

As of October 27th, 'Hanging by a Threat' is available everywhere digitally, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. The 'Stockholm Syndrome' album will be released on January 15th.

Melodic Metal Outfit DYING LIGHT Releases New Single "Dust," Announces Next Album 'The Wicked Crow'

New Jersey's DYING LIGHT is preparing to unveil the next full length offering, The Wicked Crow. The announcement of the new album arrives alongside the first single and video release, "Dust." With a sound rooted in hard rock with heavy metal influences, The Wicked Crow is scheduled to arrive independently on April 23, 2027.

On the narrative behind "Dust", DYING LIGHT comments: 
"The lyrics paint a tense, cinematic scene centered on a person holding lethal power in a moment of emotional emptiness. An emotional plea gives way to a tense exchange. The victim recognizes the assailant as an empty vessel but also recognizes that outside powers may yet intervene. For one person everything is turned to nothing in one lethal moment. Is it the killer or the victim who was killed?"

Highly rhythmic with a sense of foreboding, "Dust" emerges with a bluesy guitar riff and swampy bass. The driving momentum of the track's verses subsides upon reaching the melodic choruses. Comprised of call and response vocal lines, the chorus arrangement sees the energy shift and provides space to breathe.

On the creative direction of the forthcoming full length, The Wicked Crow, the band shares: 
"This particular album was meant to be heavy with some drop tunings while holding on to our melody and hooks. We hope to plant an ear bug in every song. The lyrical content is always important. We try to tell a story in every song."

The Wicked Crow was produced, mixed and mastered by Charlie Berezansky at Rival Sound. 

About DYING LIGHT:
New Jersey based melodic metal outfit DYING LIGHT formed in 2020 comprised of Jim Haldenwang (guitarist/songwriter), Jeff Ross (vocals), Chris Fritz (bass/vocals), Doug Edwards (guitar) and Shaun Dilliplane (drums). Following Doug Edwards's exit, Jake Whittaker joined taking on the role of bassist which saw Chris Fritz switch to guitars.

2020 saw the release of DYING LIGHT's self titled demo album, which was swiftly followed by Far From Life in 2021. Showcasing a progression in their sound, Shallow Grave arrived in early 2023 with 2025 bringing the release of The Slumber.

Mawiza Announce 'IÑ MONGELETEW'

With their hearts and minds still soaring after sharing the stage with heavy metal legends Sepultura, Mawiza are excited to announce IÑ MONGELETEW (Those Who Give Us Life). In the spirit of “Kaiowas”, the first-ever acoustic EP from the modern day Mapuche groove metal warriors honors their ancestral roots. It includes three re-imagined songs from the band’s 2025 Pulsar-nominated album ÜL, as well as new single “Wüzapiwken” (Divided Heart), one of two new original songs.

“The music of our ancestors was just another sound of nature. Sepultura knows this. They learned from those who know their land and their ancestors. Mawiza follows that same path”, the band’s vocalist and guitarist Awka says. “We can create our music without distorted guitars and big percussion, but not without our language and our identity. That is why IÑ MONGELETEW exists”.

“Standing on stage next to Sepultura means a lot to any musician, and even more so to Mawiza. Sharing newen (energy) while performing ‘Kaiowas’ together was an unforgettable and very relevant moment, yet it also felt close and intimate, like a torch was being passed to a new generation”, drummer Txalkan says. “With IÑ MONGELETEW, we want to carry on Sepultura’s legacy by making music in the language of this land”.

By unplugging from the noise of modern metal, IÑ MONGELETEW speaks loudly to Mawiza’s roots in Mapuche culture. The band’s new EP is neither soft nor quiet. Acoustic instruments and tribal percussion don’t strip down but amplify the band’s call for decolonization and reconnecting with nature by embracing a dark, fiery atmosphere and harsh tones that challenge the Western ear. Lead single “Wüzapiwken” speaks to the heart of indigenous life, which is divided between the city and its native land, with scraping rhythms and piercing chants.

“‘Wüzapiwken’ is a song with a divided heart”, Mawiza says. “It’s a ritual that transforms into song and is deliberately unclear where one ends and the other begins. It opens with a greeting to nature, announcing what is about to be sung, and releases the feelings held within a divided heart into the space where we live”.

JOAN AS POLICE WOMAN shares "We Don’t Own It" ahead of Real Life 20th Anniversary Tour, now with NZ / Australia dates

Arriving just one week before launching her Real Life 20th Anniversary Tour, iconic NYC singer-songwriter Joan As Police Woman presents 'We Don’t Own It'from her new album 'Real Life Evolution', a superb reimagining of her 2006 debut 'Real Life' album with a new cast of collaborators, released via UK label Reveal Records.

She also shares the final live performance video for that song from her Real Life Anniversary Sessions video series, while announcing a new set of confirmed live dates for her tour, bringing her show to New Zealand and Australian audiences.

Joan Wasser, known as Joan As Police Woman since 2004, is a critically acclaimed musician and producer, and a sought-after collaborator, dubbed “the coolest woman in pop” (The Times) and “one of the 21st century’s best musicians” (The Economist). As a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, her music defies easy categorization, crafting her own sound that blends various genres.

With two very different versions of this epic song, Joan's masterclass in self-reinvention proves that great songwriting isn't a static artifact locked in time, but a living, elastic template capable of transformation.

The album version, recorded by Danny Blume (Iggy Pop, Nick Lowe, Gavin Friday, Jewel, Lisa Loeb) at Hidden Quarry Studios in Bearsville, NY, finds Joan on vocals and synths, joined by Thomas Bartlett on bass and Parker Kindred on drums. A supple, forward-thinking groove, brimming with Grace Jones-esque swagger, reggae-touched rhythms, and subtle electronic touchpoints, the track breathes fresh, organic space into her signature sound.

In contrast, the soulful stripped-down Sessions performance video sees Joan in live trio format as she plays electric guitar, accompanied by Jeremy Gustin on drums and Will Graefe on acoustic guitar, each of them beautifully harmonizing vocals. Filmed at The Owl Music Parlor in Brooklyn by Ehud Lazin, the sound was recorded by Adam Sachs.

"I wrote this song after Elliott Smith died. Watching the frenzy around the details of his death, I recognized something I had learned years earlier when I lost my friend, my fiancé, my collaborator — Jeff Buckley. Grief makes us desperate for answers, but death doesn’t offer them. It makes even less sense to those who are deep in pain, mourning a friend, a family member, someone they admired. Death is something to sit with, not to solve," says Joan Wasser.

"Parker Kindred and I built this one around one of his vintage 80s drum machines — we’re both devoted to the Sly Stone approach of letting the drum machine drive the whole creative process. Thomas Bartlett holds it down on Rhodes bass while I let loose on keys. The song was never asking for more weight; it wanted to breathe, and this version allows it."

This new single arrives on the trail of 'Save Me', for which she teamed up with the illustrious Iggy Pop. Earlier, Joan shared intimate versions of  'Feed The Light', 'Eternal Flame', 'Flushed Chest', 'The Ride', 'Anyone', the title track 'Real Life', 'I Defy', and the invigorating 'Christobel'.

"Some transformations are subtle. Others are seismic. All of them were made with an entirely new cast of collaborators. Among them are two extraordinary vocalists. The inimitable Iggy Pop — whose band I’ve had the privilege of touring with, playing keys and singing — recorded a stunning version of 'Save Me' while we were on the road in New Zealand. We had to work around the birds outside, who apparently had strong opinions about the session. Then there’s Krystle Warren, a true original and one of my favorite singers alive. Her voice is so deeply soulful that 'I Defy' feels like it thoroughly enjoyed easily slipping into its brand new groove," says Joan Wasser.

Through countless performances, the new renditions on this extraordinary album are brought to life by the brilliance of the players who helped define their sound. Progressive Death Metal Band DYSTOPIA AD Release New Single, "The Last Citadel"

Progressive death metal act DYSTOPIA A.D. explores a bleak future in the new single release, "The Last Citadel." Drawing sonic inspiration from across metal's subgenres, the trio is preparing to unleash the new full length offering Wasteland Empire independently on January 15, 2027.

While the band's music is rooted in death metal, the array of musical influences in DYSTOPIA A.D.'s sound is revealed in this latest single release:
"'The Last Citadel' opens the album with a haunting, epic introduction followed by relentless thrash riffs, dueling guitar solos, and gang vocals evocative of classic bands like Exodus and Testament." DYSTOPIA A.D. explains. 

Positioned as the opening track on the band's forthcoming album, "The Last Citadel" establishes the setting of 'The Wasteland.' This desolate plain is a dark depiction of humanity's future. Lyrically, the track's narrative sees "survivors band together to fend off the forces of destruction."

Manchester's CAULBEARERS release debut album 'Come Back Home' October 30th, sharing urgent 'Brothers At The Wheel' video

Manchester-based outfit Caulbearers announces the release of their debut album 'Come Back Home' on October 30th, their latest collaboration featuring ethereal folk artist Ruth Blake. The band's first major release since their 2011 EP 'More Lie Deep', there are ten tracks on offer, sounding a rallying call for unity at the grassroots level and resistance to the forces intent on dividing us.

Apart from the band members themselves, this release involves several high-profile professionals, including Seadna McPhail (Badly Drawn Boy, Jah Wobble, Everything Everything, I Am Kloot, Happy Mondays), who handled the mixing. Recorded by Mahoney and Chris Hamilton at Toast Recordings and Seadna McPhail at Airtight Studio, this album was mastered by Jim Spencer (New Order, Johnny Marr, Charlatans, Factory Floor) at Eve Mastering.

A collective formed in 2007 and led by Damien Mahoney, Caulbearers are known for blending diverse musical styles, including soul, funk, hip-hop, indie pop, dub, nu jazz and folk influences. With contributors hailing from around the UK and Europe, their DIY ethic has coursed through every element of their releases, from design, production, videos and gigs to the recording process itself.

The lead track ‘Brothers At The Wheel’ traces a journey of political awakening - from a naive plea for those in power to change course before disaster hits, to disillusionment at hollow words and empty promises that leave the status quo.

The accompanying video presents an uncompromising challenge to the power structures governing modern life, while ultimately offering solidarity and collective action as an alternative to despair. Exploring "the wheel" as a machine built to continually turn for profit and power regardless of the cost to people, communities and the planet, visual artist Latent Variables blends animation, photography and video to reflectthe different stages and emotions of this epic song.

An important motif in the video is the breaking apart of everything we know; people, environments, plants and buildings shatter, with the notion that we have to consciously bring these pieces back together to heal and to create something new.

Collaborating with Manchester MC, poet and reggae artist J Chambers, Damien Mahoney filmed original footage around his neighbourhood to epitomise the song’s major themes. Locations with abandoned and boarded up buildings contrast with colourful murals by local artists.

“I see the two murals featured in the video almost every day as they are really close to my house. They bring a much-needed display of beauty, nature and hope in what is a very urban environment. I live in a very multi-cultural area and I feel that both the song and the video express the notion that a shared struggle exists for many people, which echoes in other streets, other words, other languages,” says Damien Mahoney.

With an unrelenting groove, strings, bass, and keys are locked into a single insistent pattern.. Past the tempo shift, the song opens into a second movement: a soaring, wordless lament by Ruth Blake — a beautiful and mournful, yet defiant, celebration of the human spirit. Underneath, the arrangement builds in waves — guitars layering, cello and violin rising, keys, bass and drums gathering weight — swelling to a crescendo before dissolving.

Psychedelic Desert Rock Trio AUNT CYNTHIA'S CABIN Presents New Single "Archangel"

A dreamy haze meets raw, emotional eruption in the new single, "Archangel" as psychedelic desert rock act AUNT CYNTHIA'S CABIN delves into the spiritual realms seeking reprieve from enduring night terrors. Following the bold swagger of their first single, "Bash," "Archangel" takes cues from the grand, theatrical build of OZZY OSBOURNE's "Mr. Crowley" and the adventurous guitar work of early KING CRIMSON. The track lands ahead of the forthcoming full length Aunt Cynthia's Cabin, scheduled for release on December 18, 2026, via Black Throne Productions. The album is available for pre-order HERE.

Vocalist and guitarist Brennan Justice comments: "'Archangel' is written about night terrors that I’d been struggling with for several years. It was a paralyzing experience, waking up in a panic, not quite knowing where I am, and leaving me anxious for hours or sometimes several days after. Once I accepted that, you know, this is happening and I have to really think outside the box to get rid of it, I started praying to Archangel Michael for protection while I sleep. So the song is about the terrors and my prayer for a safe place to sleep."

With "Archangel" the band deviates from their usual doubled-guitar arrangement, using only a single lead guitar track to lend the performance a more exposed, vulnerable quality. Recorded by AUNT CYNTHIA'S CABIN in a converted barn belonging to drummer Jeremy Luvaas, Aunt Cynthia's Cabinnot only sees the band develop their sound but also experiment with creativity and methods of musical production.

Aunt Cynthia's Cabin sees the trio embark on their next chapter, leaning further into cinematic realms. Recording for this album was undertaken by the band themselves, moving out of the traditional studio set up into their own defined space, a converted barn belonging to drummer Jeremy Luvaas, a sense of freedom and creative development that can be heard across the track list. AUNT CYNTHIA'S CABIN once again join forces with Black Throne Productions for this release. Aunt Cynthia's Cabin will be unveiled on December 18, 2026.

Symphonic Black Metal Act VESSELES Release "Until They Are Dust (Reclaimed)" With Music Video Ahead Of The New Album, Home (Reclaimed)

"Until They Are Dust (Reclaimed)" is the new single release from the symphonic black metal project, VESSELES. Arriving alongside a music video, the track lands ahead of the forthcoming full length, Home (Reclaimed), scheduled to arrive on March 26, 2027. 

"Until They Are Dust (Reclaimed)" now contains the haunting vocal performance of VESSELES' founder Valira. The song is about the growth of one's self confidence, and the empowerment this brings, explored through the narrative of Valira’s demonic origins. In "Until They Are Dust (Reclaimed)," further worldbuilding reveals the origins of 'The Beneath.' The plain is described as “a horrific cursed sludge” that consumes all humans to then birth a new generation of demons.  

VESSELES is an artistic outlet allowing Valira the space to express and explore who they are. Home (Reclaimed) confronts the discomfort and complexity of what 'home' is to someone who is not from this world. Now recorded with their own vocals, Home (Reclaimed) captures fully Valira's origins and purpose. In addition to the vocal performance, the album is filled with piano driven leads, grandiose symphonic compositions, dissonant passages and pained progressions encapsulating their experience. 

Home (Reclaimed) was produced, mixed and mastered by Nick Loiacono at Fang Studios, San Mateo, CA. The album performance was by Valira Nyvran (vocals, guitars, composition, orchestrations, lyrics), Ron Graves (bass) and Nikolas Brön (drums). Special guests include Antonio Giardina (session piano) and The Vicken Studios Orchestra (choir chants on “Eternally Within Us (Reclaimed)”). Album cover artwork is by Mark Erskine. 

About VESSELES:

Founded in 2023, VESSELES is the sonic vessel through which Valira speaks the language of their origins. As composer, orchestrator, and architect, they craft bleak, incantatory soundscapes that fuse serrated guitars with haunted symphonic textures. Denitia Releases "Can't Leave You Alone" Ahead of 'Texas Angel' (2/5)

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Denitia shares her new track, “Can’t Leave You Alone,” offering another taste of her upcoming fourth studio album, Texas Angel, arriving Feb. 5, 2027. Produced by Brad Allen Williams (Brittany Howard, Brandy), Texas Angel finds the country music songstress looking inward, reflecting on the pursuit of happiness and the desire to find a place and a feeling that can truly be called home. 

“When I was writing this song, I wanted to pull from a time in my life where I was drawn to situations that weren’t so good for me,” shares Denitia. “So much of the material on this album has this undertone of having learned my lesson and I wanted to reach back to a time where I knew better, but I still wanted to do bad. It felt right to have it all set against this dreamy sonic backdrop – a place you can’t resist getting pulled into.”

Written by Denitia and producer Brad Allen Williams on a hot summer’s day in north Mississippi, “Can’t Leave You Alone,” explores the complicated pull of a relationship that proves difficult to leave behind, capturing the tension between wanting to let go and finding herself unable to do so.

Across Texas Angel, Denitia walks through the highs and lows of love, success and self-discovery while looking beyond herself for wisdom from the generations who came before her. This latest track follows the release of the album’s title track which left Cowboys & Indians asking, “what kind of sad-ass stray would wear out the wings of this bad ass Texas angel?”

With Texas Angel, Denitia enters a new chapter, bringing hard-earned perspective to a collection that explores the complexities of love, identity, resilience and finding where you belong. The forthcoming album continues her evolution as an artist while placing emotional honesty and deeply personal storytelling at its center.

Denitia’s musical identity is rooted in the greater Houston area, where relatives who worked in the region’s industrial plants and oil refineries also introduced her to the country music legends they loved. Artists including Dolly Parton, George Strait and Loretta Lynn helped inspire her own creative path, instilling an appreciation for musicians who combine artistry with determination.

The idea of honoring her forebears while telling her own story began taking shape during a songwriting session following her first appearance at the Grand Ole Opry in 2024.

“Getting invited to play the Opry was momentous for me because my grandmother, my great-grandmother, they all listened to WSM and now there was somebody in our family who was on that stage,” shares Denitia. “It was this mixture of feeling like, ‘Wow, I just want to be a part of the fabric and the lineage of country music’ and realizing my positioning in my family. And then also just the idea of standing in one's own power.”

A 14-track country collection, Texas Angel is suffused with warm acoustic instrumentation, wistful steel guitars and Denitia’s inviting vocals, moving between tender vulnerability and fiery flintiness as she reflects on the past, embraces the present and explores the freedom of an unwritten future.
