Ian Munsick Releases Sobering “Fixin’ Me”

When Wyoming native Ian Munsick moved to Nashville ten years ago to pursue music, he noticed a recurring theme among the relationships he observed that began amid the neon signs and party culture which permeates the town. Reflecting on this, Munsick’s sobering “Fixin’ Me” cites the toxic push-and-pull that often results, as one person tries to fix bad habits while the other remains complacent. Listen to “Fixin’ Me” Below.

“There are a lot of bars in Nashville, a lot of drinking, a lot of broken love stories out there. I think that's everywhere, but especially in Nashville, alcohol really is the driver of how you meet people in the industry, and a lot of love stories happen through it,” Munsick shared in an interview with RFD-TV.

“Fixin’ Me” was written by Munsick, Trannie Anderson and Jared Conrad, and produced by Munsick, Conrad and Jeremy Spillman. View full lyrics and credits HERE.

“Nothing is more relatable than personal experience,” Munsick adds. “As a songwriter, I’ve always tried to write about what I know instead of what I think people want to hear. ‘Fixin’ Me’ is an intimate look at a relationship where one person is fixing themselves and the other is breaking because of that. When I started leaking this song to friends, most of them had experienced this same kind of relationship. It’s funny how the things we keep closest to our chest are actually the things that others relate to the most. That’s why being real and honest will always heal us in music and in life.”

Celebrated by HITS Daily Double and The New Yorker alike for putting the “western back in country,” Munsick most recently released “Western Woman,” intertwining his love of the west and respect for the women who shape it.

As he continues to tease new music, Munsick is also touring as direct support on select dates of reigning CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year Lainey Wilson’s Country’s Cool Again Tour. Munsick has a few remaining headlining shows through 2024, including his NFR kick-off at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on Dec. 6, with special guests Maggie Antone and Carson Jeffrey.

About Ian Munsick:
A native son of Wyoming, Ian Munsick painted a stampeding, spirited portrait of the American West with his sophomore album 23-track White Buffalo: Introduce You To God, out now. Spanning unfiltered tales of romance and ranch life, hard-working anthems with honkytonk hooks and mountain-time odes to family and forever-young fun, it builds upon the spacious roots-pop beauty he introduced on his major label debut, Coyote Cry. Over the past four years, Munsick has accumulated over 775 million global streams and a host of accolades. He has been named an “Artist to Watch” by Spotify, CMT, Fender, MusicRow and most recently was named a Martin Showcase Artist. A seasoned entertainer, having grown up tending cattle by day and playing music in a family band each night, Munsick toured recently alongside country music superstars Morgan Wallen and Cody Johnson, and as direct support for select dates of Lainey Wilson’s Country’s Cool Again tour, while simultaneously headlining his own Boots, Buckles & Bolos Tour and Country & WESTern Tour presented by Boot Barn. The Warner Music Nashville recording artist and multi-instrumentalist is representing his home, and its special cast of people, like never before. The first release from White Buffalo, standout duet “Long Live Cowgirls” (with Cody Johnson), hit No. 1 on SiriusXM’s The Highway Hot 30 Countdown, was named one of Amazon Music’s Best Country Songs of 2022 and recently received RIAA Gold-certification alongside “Long Haul” and “Horses Are Faster.” Fans of Ian Munsick will always find an open heart, natural awe and plainspoken honesty as he rides on… bringing the West to the rest.
