Kenny Chesney Drops New Music: Life-Affirming "Carry On" May 8

Nobody mixes genres, rhythms and postcards from life like Kenny Chesney. Just listening to “Carry On,” the ebullient cocktail of iconic bartender wisdom from the man the Los Angeles Times called “The People’s Superstar,” one is served a masterclass in the things that matter, the joy that should be harvested no matter what else is going on and the choices we’re given on a daily, even hourly, basis.

After spending 2025 as the first solo headliner and first country artist to play Vegas’ Sphere, two No. 1 New York Times best-seller list debuts for Heart Life Music, which was deemed “a love letter to the journey,” and induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame, the East Tennessee songwriter/superstar returns to music with new waves of inspiration and passion for the laidback magic of being completely, unabashedly alive.

Quick to empower people to see the glass as half full, Chesney serves “Carry On,” where electric guitars cascade into a molasses melody and the lyrics capture a picture-perfect polaroid of a barmaid who’s figured out the secret of life. Sixty-nine, smoking hot and pouring drinks at Key West’s legendary Schooner Wharf, the heroine who “kissed Elvis” and had stories that “would make Penny Lane jealous” knew how to shake off what didn’t matter – with a bridge that declares, “If it feels good do it, if it doesn’t, then don’t…”

“It felt great in the studio,” explains Billboard’s Top Country Artist of the 21st Century. “Sometimes when you’re running down a song, it all just falls into place because it just feels good. ‘Carry On’ was fun, because of all the different genres we drew from. Plus, I love a chorus that throws life wide open – and reminds you how to find the light no matter what’s happening.”

Crystalizing that truth, the chorus – which begs for arms-around-each-other shout-alongs – offers a benediction that delivers everything you need on a Tuesday morning or a white-hot Saturday night. Warm baritone forward, he leans into the declaration with gusto:

Carry on karaoke, it don’t matter if you can’t/carry a tune in a bucket anyways
Carry on, who cares what the naysayers say/if it’s Saturday night get carried away
Carry on, carry on, you can’t carry nothing with you and it won’t be long…
til it’s six carrying you home… til then you gotta carry on…”

Co-producing with Buddy Cannon, Chesney reaches – as always – for the hardcore positive vibes that define his outlook and what his songs are made of. In the same vein as the multiple-week No. 1s “American Kids,” “Save It for a Rainy Day” and “Get Along,” “Carry On” is a road map to inspire through tough times, good times and all the other times in between.

“Nothing lifts a mood like music. It’s something people can find their attitude adjustment in without doing too much work,” Chesney says. “I love that this song says, ‘Get out there and sing, even if you can’t carry a tune in a bucket – because that’s real. We don’t care how you sound, we just wanna see everybody with their hands up, singing along with everything they’ve got. Those songs that change your energy are everything.”

Mixing his 20th studio release, Chesney’s focus remains great songs, pushing boundaries without betraying who he is and finding hits that open up possibilities for what feeling good sounds like.

Riding the momentum of the record announcement, Rachel Bolan keeps the energy high and the buzz building with the release of his second single "Anything But You" — giving fans another glimpse of what’s ahead and another hook that sticks!

After four decades as a driving force behind Skid Row, bassist and songwriter Rachel Bolan steps forward with his first solo album under the name BOLAN.

Watch the official music video for "Anything But You"  Below!

Produced by multi-Grammy winner Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Skid Row, Rush, Evanescence, Alice In Chains) The album began as a simple conversation between friends. What started casually quickly evolved into a record that would ultimately define Bolan's voice as both a songwriter and
storyteller.

"Gargoyle of the Garden State is not a project, it is every bit of my soul," says Bolan. "Like me, it knows when to be serious and also knows where the party is."

Pre-order the Gargoyle of the Garden State album  HERE.

The record delivers several standout moments, including a surprising cover of Oasis' "Rock And Roll Star," reimagined through Bolan's distinctive lens. Expanding well beyond his role as a bassist, Bolan performs most instruments himself, shaping the record from the ground up. Drawing on influences ranging from Brit Pop and Glam to Punk Rock and New Wave, the album reflects a lifetime immersed in music.

Gargoyle of the Garden State also features an impressive lineup of guests, including Corey Taylor, Danko Jones, Nuno Bettencourt, Damon Johnson, Steve Conte, and fellow Skid Row members Scotti Hill, Dave "Snake" Sabo and Rob Hammersmith.

The album is out on June 12 and will be available as CD Digipak, LP Gatefold, as well as digital and download.

With "Anything But You," Bolan continues to open the door to his solo world one that feels personal, loud, and undeniably himself.

Solo Artist Zack Miranowic Releases New Single & Visualizer “What Do You See?”

Southampton, New Jersey–based solo artist Zack Miranowic has released his new single "What Do You See?", accompanied by a visualizer. The single is the second offering from his forthcoming full-length album Sinking Low, and continues Miranowic’s solo vision — channeling darker themes through massive riffs, dynamic songwriting, and powerful melodic vocals with a touch of grit.

Miranowic shares, "Oftentimes people do not assess what kind of life they've lived until the very end - more specifically, what kind of people they were in their life and to those around them. I think it's important every now and again to check in with yourself. Are you where you want to be or is there room to grow and improve? Were you kind to others or were you cruel? The even bigger question is, were you even aware?"

Notably, Miranowic handled every aspect of the release himself. “The album was completely produced, mixed, and mastered by me."

His music dives into deeply personal territory, exploring mental illness, anger, the passage of time, and lived experiences with honesty and intensity. Balancing aggressive instrumentation with atmospheric depth and strong melodic sensibility.

“What Do You See?” is available now on all major streaming platforms.

Melodic Metal Act DEAD KARMA Release New Single "Settra"

Heavy melodic quartet DEAD KARMA explore tales of immortal gods, conquest and power in the new single, "Settra". The release presents a change in creative direction from the Canadian act, as the band deliver a more aggressive, technical sound.

Lyrically, "Settra" follows an ancient and immortal desert god who seeks to reclaim a throne that is rightfully theirs. The track is situated from the perspective of Settra, with imagery around subjugation, otherworldly forces, and gold drawing in elements from the tale of King Midas. Fantasy novels and games also became a source of inspiration.

Channeling the spirit of punk, prominent percussion centers the track's rhythmic quality though it diverts away from a more conventional punk beat. A combination of power chords, harmonized leads, and a technical solo produce a heavy yet intricate sonic texture from the guitars that are positioned alongside a more explorative bass line. Employing vocal layering and group vocal sections, the overall impact is more dynamic.

"Settra" was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Chris Rowan at Skaldic Studios. The cover artwork was designed by Andrew Cannell with the photo by Paola Koenig.

About THE BAND:

Based out of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, DEAD KARMA formed in 2022 with Andrew Cannell (vocals/guitars), Raman Kambo (guitars/vocals), Sean Frankruyter (bass/vocals), and Jacob Jansen (drums). Kambo subsequently departed at the end of 2023, and 2024 brought the release of the band's debut, four-track EP The Space Camaro

The band draws musical inspiration from across post-hardcore, metal, prog rock and punk with primary influences taken from acts such as THRICE, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, TOOL, and MASTODON. Melodic leads are central to DEAD KARMA's sound, with riffs predominantly crafted around memorable hooks.

2025 saw the recording of new material and DEAD KARMA welcomed Dylan Meiler (guitars/vocals) in fall of the same year. The new single, "Settra", showcases a more aggressive, stylistic shift away from their first EP release.

DEAD KARMA Is:

Andrew Cannell (Vocals/Guitars)
Dylan Meiler (Guitars/Vocals)
Sean Frankruyter (Bass/Vocals)

MODERN METAL PIONEERS DARKEST HOUR TO FORGE 11TH STUDIO ALBUM WITH PRODUCER MARK LEWIS

D.C. metal icons Darkest Hour have officially announced they will enter the studio this May to begin tracking their 11th full-length album. In a move that signals a massive sonic statement, the quintet has tapped legendary producer Mark Lewis (Whitechapel, Trivium, The Black Dahlia Murder, Cannibal Corpse) to helm the sessions at his Nashville, TN studio.

Guitarist Mike Schleibaum says, "The idea of working with Mark is extremely exciting. He’s been a part of many very successful and legendary metal records, and having his input and vision on all this is going to be important to making this very special album, unique, classic, and perfect!”

Lewis adds, "I’m extremely stoked to finally get in the studio with my old friends in Darkest Hour. Something that has been talked about for ages is happening at the right time. This album will crush!”

Schleibaum continues,  "I’m in love with how this record is so thrashy and aggressive, while still maintaining that core melody we are so known for. It’s like the best combination of all the Darkest Hour albums into one, and it’s such a joy to watch all of it come together. The chemistry of the band is on fire right now, with everyone bringing something unique and special to the table. The guitar solos are next level; the band's drumming & rhythm section is just locked in insanely tight,  and I’m really excited about where John took everything lyrically this time. Truly something special and magic in these songs.”

Vocalist John Henry adds, “It may seem that after 30+ years and 10 albums, it could be hard to find the inspiration to create something fresh and new feeling, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth with this album. In an era where art feels threatened by technology, the answer for us was to keep it as organic as possible, and you can hear it. This is the sound of five friends getting together and collaboratively creating, and maybe most importantly, having fun while we do it. Putting these songs together made me feel like I’m 15 again. For me, it’s the perfect balance of new and classic DH, and having Mark Lewis, who produces some of our favorite modern metal music, on board is exciting beyond words. Really can’t wait for the world to hear this!”

Coinciding with this announcement, the band has confirmed they have re-upped their global partnership with MNRK Heavy, the label home of their critically acclaimed 2024 release Perpetual | Terminal.

Scott Givens, MNRK’s SVP of Rock & Metal, says, “We are excited to once again partner with Darkest Hour as they begin crafting their new album.” MNRK's Director of A&R Kyle Frey adds, “We are ecstatic to deepen our relationship with Darkest Hour and continue representing such an influential band on the MNRK roster. Their legacy is built on boundary-pushing consistency and resilience, and after 30 years together, they continue to fan the flames of inspiration in this new era, poised to deliver a landmark career highlight album.”

Following three decades of defining the intersection of melodic death metal and hardcore, Darkest Hour continues to deliver music that is as vital as it is visceral.  Darkest Hour clawed their way out of the DMV area in 1995. Throughout the ensuing years, they tallied tens of millions of streams and quietly built a diehard fan base. Circling the globe, they packed hundreds of shows and touched down on every continent, save Antarctica. Along the way, they notably notched five Top 3 debuts on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums Chart. 2017’sGodless Prophets & the Migrant Floramarked the group’s third #1 bow on the latter in addition to crashing the Top 10 of the Top Vinyl Albums Chart.

Wailin Storms Sign to Season of Mist

Season of Mist is proud to welcome Wailin Storms.

Born the son of a church pianist and Baptist preacher, Justin Storms founded Wailin Storms in his hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas. After a pass through New York City, the band settled in Durham, North Carolina, where they’ve caught fire with their noisy explosions of Southern gothic rock. Together, the four-piece throw raw-boned blues punk, the gothic country of 16 Horsepower and the howling desires of Nick Cave into a raging fire that’s fed by the bones of a dead god.

Wailin Storms’ four studio albums have been showered with high praise from NPR, Brooklyn Vegan and Metal Hammer. Their third full-length, Rattle, was featured by The Needle Drop and named one of the best albums of 2020 by Treble, Riff Magazine, Angry Metal Guyand Machine Music.  "When someone asks me my favorite active bands, I always mention Wailin Storms”, Sean Frasier wrote for Decibel upon the announcement of the band’s previous album, The Silver Snake Unfolds. “[…] their music is heavy, their lyrics haunting, and their live show furious”.

Now, fresh off sharing the stage with Acid Bath, Eyehategod and Black Tusk, Wailin Storms are fanning the flames with reckless abandon ahead of their soon-to-be-announced fifth album. Recorded by Matt Talbott of Hum in full analog, their first offering for Season of Mist promises to deliver a fiery baptism of Southern gothic rock.

“Our upcoming album was forged in the fires of love, death, fear, anxiety and other pangs of the heart”, Justin Storms says. “The songs draw from blues, folk, punk and metal, as well as René Magritte, Flannery O’Connor, David Lynch and my own obsession with fire as a kid. With Season of Mist’s backing, we are excited to bring its dark and fiery message to a wider audience across the international stage”.

Watch a simmering sneak peak from the album below>

Hot on the heels of critical high praise and thunderous applause from crowds on both sides of the Atlantic, Wailin Storms are ready to fan their flames with reckless abandon. Scottish Alt Rockers THE XCERTS Announce New Album ‘i think i want to go home now’ Set for Release on July 10th via FLG

Today, Brighton-based and Aberdeen-originating alt-rockers THE XCERTS are excited to announce their much-anticipated new album, ‘i think i want to go home now,’ out on July 10th via FLG.

In addition, the band also shares the album's latest single and arguably their heaviest release to date, the fuzzed-out, fast-paced "pretty ugly." Written during a period of intense personal strain, the track channels a sense of anger and frustration, with vocalist Murray Macleodconfronting both internal struggles and external pressures, lashing out at criticism while processing deeply personal experiences.

Speaking on the single, Macleod shares:

"A nod to 'Scatterbrain' but also heavily inspired by UK post hardcore bands like Kids Near Water and Tribute to Nothing whilst pushing the sound forward. Lyrically, it's comically brutal. The vocals are borderline incoherent but that was intentional. Another emotion I haven't put in a song for a very long time is anger and at the time I found myself feeling very angry at the world. So this song takes a swipe at people who were criticizing the band during a period when my family was going through a lot"

He continues, "The second verse is about my father and what he was going through after his cancer diagnosis. I reference the machinery that cut out my dad's tumour, the Da Vinci XI, and also Van Gogh. 'Maybe I'll splatter my brains against the wall, then you can all dissect the art, I'll do one better than Van Gogh and cut em both off."

Macleod concludes, "The song is heavy in sound and heavy with emotion, so it was important to say something a bit left field because that’s what happens when you’re having an internal meltdown."

Watch the Music Video for "pretty ugly" Below:

An undoubted career highlight long-player, the remarkably consistent and immediate songs on‘i think i want to go home now’ are sonic manifestations of the mutual support and friendship that carried the band through a particularly turbulent period, including Smith’s mother passing away and Macleod’s dad facing a cancer scare.

The new album also sees the band reconnecting with the raw urgency that defined early releases ‘In The Cold Wind We Smile,’ ‘Scatterbrain’ and ‘There Is Only You.’ Intriguingly, there are a number of stark similarities to that very first record. Smith had lost his father before they made that one, and Macleod had gone through a devastating break-up. To say that history has repeated itself would undermine the emotional gravitas of these latest life experiences, but the band found it hard not to draw comparisons between then and now.

Alongside the album announcement, the band also share news that they will perform a full run-through of ‘i think i want to go home now’ at their 2000 Trees Festival set, a festival and community they have returned to numerous times over the past 20 years and which has become something of a spiritual home for the band. In addition, they will appear at Arbroath Festival and embark on a run of dates with old friends Twin Atlantic in June. A full list of live dates can be found below.

“It was really time for us to band together and celebrate our friendship,” says Macleod, speaking further on the album. “We're so proud that we're still doing this, because we started the band 23 years ago. It’s astonishing really. This really is the purest XCERTS record there's been since the first one. We dug really deep to discover what the defining sound of our band is and bled it all out”.

The power and strength of THE XCERTS, both musically and personally, in the face of adversity is once again abundantly clear.

90s college rockers The Dambuilders return with fantastic video for "Shrine 2026" single

US indie radio faves The Dambuilders are back with “Shrine 2026” -- their first release in decades -- with their signature blend of emotional immediacy and sonic invention.. The new video portrays an underground society of alien rockers resurfacing for a mystical ritual after decades in hiding. Parts of the original 1994 video are blended with new footage to highlight the vast passage of time within the story's timeline.

Released via Magic Door Record Label, the B-side companion “I Hope We’re Not Too Late” was recorded and produced by Ray Ketchem at Magic Door Recording in Montclair, NJ and mastered by award-winning engineer Greg Calbi (Lennon, Bowie, Springsteen, Talking Heads, Patti Smith).

2025 saw the band's reformation with reunion shows at Dromfest and NYC Berlin, where they performed their 1989 debut album in its entirety. In late April, they once again perform in New York City and Providence, Rhode Island. Involving a host of special guests, these are the band's first performances in either city in 30 years, offering a rare opportunity to experience the band’s dynamic live presence.

"Bruno Corbo directed this video as an homage to the original video directed by Tryan George. Bruno and I are collaborating on the Dambuilders documentary “I Used to Be Different,” which chronicles the band from our origins in Honolulu to Boston, Berlin, and back. He created an elaborate backstory that connects the video to the original video. In the years following the initial video, where we played a rocking band of aliens who were brutally attacked by a paramilitary force, we have spent decades living underground. We are magically reconnected through the ritual of buying candles to light the shrine of rock and roll," explains Dave Derby.

"The video features performances by current band members (Dave Derby, Kevin March, Claudia Chopek, and Sean Eden) as well as cameos by original violinist Joan Wasser, original drummer Daniel Glass, Colin Burns, who created artwork for the band, and Alex Emanuel, who plays an agent in the original video. The video was a wonderful collaboration between the band, Bruno, cinematographer Sophia Williams, and art director Shelly Chung."

While The Dambuilders are most associated with the 1990s Boston rock scene, the band originated in Honolului, formed by Dave Derby, Tryan George and Eric Masunaga—veterans of Honolulu acts like the Exactones—and joined byelectric violinist Debbie Fox. After relocating to Boston in 1990, the group solidified into its definitive "classic" lineup by 1992, with Derby on vocals and bass, Masunaga on guitar, Kevin March on drums, and Joan Wasser on violin.

Now The Dambuilders re-emerge with a renewed sense of purpose with Dave Derbyand Kevin March joined by guitarist Sean Eden (Luna) and violinist Claudia Chopek (Dexys, Father John Misty, The Little River Band). Their performance of the B-side “I Hope We’re Not Too Late” uphold the bend's core elements and original identity while embracing an evolving sound.

The Dambuilders built a devoted following throughout the 1990s, touring North America, Europe and Australia alongside artists such as Lush, Luna, Jeff Buckley, Weezer and Better Than Ezra. They would release 3 records via the !Cuacha! Label and 3 albums for Elektra Records, along with a song cycle that dedicated a number of tracks to the 50 states (most notably,“Idaho” and “Delaware”).

“Shrine 2026” revisits one of The Dambuilders' most beloved songs, from their 1994 album "Encendedor", which became a cornerstone of their catalog, with “Shrine”ranked at No. 17 in MTV’s 100 Greatest Songs of the ‘90s: Lollapalooza edition. Following their "Against the Stars" album in 1997, the band stepped away from recording and touring, its members pursuing a wide range of acclaimed musical projects in the years that followed.

"Shrine 2006" is available on digital platforms, including SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp. Tickets for their East coast shows are also available now.

SharpTone Welcomes Glasswaves to the Roster + Band Shares "fvck.me.up"

SharpTone Records is thrilled to welcome Glasswaves, a Rochester, New York-based trio that seamlessly blends dark pop, alternative rock, and electronic elements with a heavy and dynamic edge, to the global roster.

The band has shared the video for gloomy and glitchy new single "fvck.me.up." Watch it below.

"What started as a completely different idea slowly turned into a mix of electronic textures and heavy guitars that just felt right," shares singer Noah Rich. "Once the chorus came together, everything really clicked into place. At its core, the song is about destructive love and emotional dependency that pulls you toward something you know isn't good for you but can't let go of."

He finishes, "Within the world we’re building as Glasswaves, it reflects that loss of control and the feeling of giving yourself over to something bigger, whether that’s a person, a system, or something inside your own mind. This track is the first piece of a bigger story that will keep unfolding with every release."

Stay tuned for more.

Regarding their new label home, Glasswaves says, "Being able to say Glasswaves is signed to SharpTone Records is honestly surreal. It's a label we've looked up to for a long time, and knowing we're also connected to the legacy of Nuclear Blast makes it even more meaningful. Starting this new chapter with our single 'fvck.me.up' feels like a perfect way to begin."

Formed in May 2023, the lineup is rounded out by Owen Miller on guitar and Brendan Curtis on bass. In a short time, they have built a reputation for pairing atmospheric melody with explosive intensity, creating a sound that is both cinematic and emotionally raw.

Their music moves fluidly between haunting, electronic driven verses and massive, high impact moments, offering a balance of accessibility and aggression that resonates across genres. Paired with their war paint aesthetic, Glasswaves deliver a live show that is immersive, visceral, and visually striking.

In 2025, the band won the grand prize at the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands and earned a main stage performance at Warped Tour. That same year, they toured extensively, performing nearly 60 shows and spending close to 80 days on the road, quickly establishing themselves as a compelling and consistent live act.

Now signed to Sharptone Records, Glasswaves are positioned for rapid growth as they continue to push boundaries and connect with a new generation of listeners. With a sound that refuses to be confined to a single genre and a proven work ethic on the road, the band stands ready to make a lasting impact across the alternative and heavy music space.

Amberian Dawn Share Video For New Single "The Vision Of Dreaming"

Finnish symphonic metal band AMBERIAN DAWN share a second enchantment from their new era. "The Vision of Dreaming" is another charming glimpse into the upcoming album, Temptation's Gates, releasing June 26 via Napalm Records, which is the band's first with singer Nicole Willerton. The song's poignant riff spirals right into long-term memory and first hints at the new leading lady being more than an angelic fairy gently guiding listeners through languorous realms. Symphonic metal with a modern twist, "The Vision of Dreaming" proves AMBERIAN DAWN's thrilling dedication to their craft.

Tuomas Seppälä about "The Vision of Dreaming":
"I originally composed 'The Vision of Dreaming' back in 2021, but it truly found its final form only now as we began working on it together with our new vocalist. It represents the lighter side of the album, but it still has a nice metal bite to it. I spent a great deal of time carefully crafting its sonic atmosphere. The foundation is built largely on carefully selected analog synthesizer sounds, combined with thoughtfully detailed arrangements. There's a clear touch of ABBA-like atmosphere in the song, yet at the same time, it has a fresh and heavier edge that makes it unmistakably part of our world."

Nicole Willerton about "The Vision of Dreaming":
"The lyrics of 'The Vision of Dreaming' are dreamy and describe the deep spiritual and emotional connection between two people. It explores how their shared memories, emotions, and dreams keep them intertwined, even when physically apart. The lyrics portray love as a bond that transcends space and time. In essence, the song describes a powerful bond connecting two people beyond the physical."

Rising from the home of symphonic metal are AMBERIAN DAWN: The Finnish five-piece is set to open Temptation's Gates, their new album, out on June 26, 2026 via Napalm Records. The band's first release with new singer Nicole Willerton takes them onto a more modern, occasionally even surprisingly rough path. With it, AMBERIAN DAWN, led by founder, guitarist, and main composer Tuomas Seppälä, slowly emancipate themselves from being "just" the band who—gloriously!—covered Swedish pop legends ABBA with their previous album, Take a Chance – A Metal Tribute to ABBA (2022).

Infusing their epic keyboard sounds with guitar-driven melodic metal, AMBERIAN DAWN reach into a world unknown and prove their versatility while their catchy anthems remain strong and charming as ever. Temptation's Gates has the band determined for a future sparkling temptingly bright — and they're ready to step through that gate.

Tuomas Seppälä about Temptation's Gates:
"When I started working with our new singer, I felt the same kind of excitement I had years ago when I began creating our debut album back in 2007 and 2008. At that time, AMBERIAN DAWN were still newcomers to the band world, even though we were already experienced musicians. With Temptation's Gates, I felt that same spark of creating something new for the first time in a long while. I hadn't composed many songs yet when I began collaborating with our new vocalist. Most of the material came together surprisingly fast once I realized how easy and natural it was to work with her. I was deeply inspired by Nicole's enthusiasm, dedication, and efficiency. I truly feel that the band has been reborn with her joining us. Musically, our style has evolved once again, perhaps moving slightly back toward a heavier, more metal-driven direction. At the same time, elements of our classic sound and identity are naturally still present. In many ways, creating this album felt like going back to my roots. For the first time in a long while, I also took on a bigger role as a guitarist. I focused more on crafting guitar riffs, played roughly half of the guitar leads on the album, and even performed one full guitar solo myself."

Nicole Willerton about Temptation's Gates:
Temptation's Gates is the first album I've sung on and recorded with AMBERIAN DAWN, and it has been a beautiful experience. While writing the lyrics, each song was inspired by feelings, memories, and moments that were especially prominent during the creation of the album. Writing the lyrics felt like diving into the subconscious, bringing these emotions to the surface. It was wonderful to explore the creative process of arranging the backing vocals. I especially love how AMBERIAN DAWN's music makes strong use of backing vocals, helping to create a fuller, richer sound around the lead vocals. It's definitely a fiery album that combines a broad spectrum of emotional depths, ranging from love and melancholy to darker elements such as fear and inner struggles. A recurring message throughout the album is to embrace one’s true desires and to accept and acknowledge one’s honest feelings."

Check Out the Music Video for "Vaporize A Neighbor"

SQUID PISSER are a chaotic hardcore/noise outfit blending industrial textures, fractured rhythms, and confrontational performance into a singular, abrasive identity. Featuring members of GWAR, Cancer Christ and Duck Duck Goose, the band fuses blown-out electronics, noise-drenched guitars, and volatile live energy into something deliberately unhinged and immediate.

The band has worked with acclaimed producers including Kurt Ballou and Steve Evetts, and has engaged with forward-thinking acts such as Melt-Banana, The Locust, and Nekrogoblikon. Releases through Three One G Records and Skin Graft Records position SQUID PISSER firmly within a lineage of boundary-pushing underground music.

Through relentless touring, SQUID PISSER has shared stages with GWAR, Weedeater, Nekrogoblikon, King Parrot, and Buñuel, while also performing alongside Thee Oh Sees, deathbyromy, and Siiickbrain, demonstrating a rare ability to cross scenes without compromise.

Internationally, SQUID PISSER has appeared at festivals including ArcTanGent Festival, bringing their volatile and confrontational live show to European audiences. In the U.S., the band has also performed at The Gathering of the Juggalos 2025 and Muddy Roots Fest 2026.

Their growing catalog - including "My Tadpole Legion," "Dreams of Puke," and "Vaporize a Neighbor" — has seen multiple vinyl pressings sell out, alongside a steady output of visually striking, concept-driven music videos.

Emily Wolfe Releases New Single "Lips" feat. Jesse Hughes (Eagles of Death Metal) via Judge & Jury

Austin-based singer/songwriter and powerhouse guitarist Emily Wolfe returns with her new single “Lips,” featuring Jesse Hughes of Eagles of Death Metal, available now through Judge & Jury Records. The track marks Wolfe’s first single from her forthcoming new album, exuding an equal amount of chemistry and swagger. Combining the swing of 70s rock with the cockiness of the 80s, the hyper-defined production from Gavin Brown (Three Days Grace, Barenaked Ladies, Metric) gives the song enough clarity to feel fresh and modern in 2026.

“This song feels like a full circle moment for me”, says Wolfe. “I grew up loving Eagles of Death Metal, so getting to write and watch Jesse Hughes sing this with me was surreal. It’s what happens when you find yourself creating alongside someone who shaped you, and realize they’re just as hungry to make something dangerous as you are. Writing it with Jesse was electric, and alongside producer Gavin Brown, we created something that’s familiar in all the right ways, but still has the bite of older rock records.”

Wolfe credits Hughes not only as a collaborator, but as a mentor in the studio, guiding her through her first-ever in-studio collaboration with another artist. A fan of Hughes since high school, Wolfe describes the experience as one of the most formative creative moments of her career.

Already an established force in rock, Wolfe has spent 13+ years building her reputation as a guitar-driven artist with millions of streams and major media recognition including The Wall Street Journal, MTV, Guitar Player, Paste, and American Songwriter. Her original song “Atta Blues” has surpassed 2 million streams on Spotify, further solidifying her growing global audience.

A proud Gibson partner, Wolfe has two signature guitar models created in her name. She also shares Gibson signature Epiphone status with Adam Jones (TOOL), a connection that may lead to Wolfe co-writing with Jones in the future. Wolfe was personally asked by the CEO of Gibson Guitars if she wanted to open for TOOL, later discovering that Jones was already a fan of her work.

Emily Wolfe has released three records, toured internationally, and shared stages with major acts including The Gaslight Anthem, TOOL, All Them Witches, and more.

In support of the new single, Wolfe will be hitting the road throughout 2026 with a stacked run of high-profile performances. She will be supporting YUNGBLUD and The Warning for multiple shows in May, appearing alongside The Mountain Goats and The Menzingers at Sing Us Home Festival in May, and performing at Frank Turner’s festival in September. Additional tour announcements are expected soon.

"Emily Wolfe is great! We're excited to have her join the IDOLS tour," says Yungblud.

“Lips” is available now on all major streaming platforms.

BLOOD OF ANGELS Confront Mortality In The New Single "Nevermore"

"Nevermore" is the introspective new offering from BLOOD OF ANGELS. Confronting mortality, the unknown end that awaits all creatures, the band delve into the foreboding darkness. Accompanied by a lyric video, "Nevermore" arrives ahead of the forthcoming full-length album Les Agnst ov Thanatou, due to be released on June 21, 2026.

Les Agnst ov Thanatou is a concept album centered around mortality, grief, ritual, and the psychological weight of loss. "Where earlier tracks wrestle with death, guilt, and the chaos of mortality", the band explain, "this song embodies the point of no return: the moment when hope, time, and possibility are stripped away, leaving only emptiness and remembrance." The new single is not entirely without hope which is revealed in "Nevermore" in the final lyric: “Then I rise, break free from my demise.”For after death, one's life is preserved in the memories of their loved ones.

Musically, the arrangement of "Nevermore" grew from a riff devised by BLOOD OF ANGELS' bassist The Maggot. The song leans further into the band's alternative influences, while remaining firmly situated in plains of heavy distortion. A haunting bridge comprised of a spoken word section against low orchestral strings reiterates the album's conceptual theme. Returning to thunderous realms, the track reaches its height by building into a classic doom metal sound.

Les Agnst ov Thanatou represents a significant evolution for BLOOD OF ANGELS. Written during a period marked by widespread uncertainty and personal loss, the album presents a unified narrative that traces humanity’s response to death through resistance, ritual, memory, and acceptance. Recorded at Underground Studios in Tampa, Florida, the album was produced by Bob Noxious, Preston DiCarlo, and BLOOD OF ANGELS, with mixing by Preston DiCarlo and mastering at Soundlab in New York City.

Since forming in 2017, BLOOD OF ANGELS have earned international recognition for their songwriting, musicianship, and uncompromising vision. Their accolades include the 2023 Hollywood Independent Music Award for “Best Rock/Metal Song” and multiple Akademia Music Awards. In 2025, the band completed a sold-out headlining European tour, further establishing their presence on the global metal stage.

"Nevermore" explores the darkest corners of Les Agnst ov Thanatou. BLOOD OF ANGELS encourage listeners to sit with the unknown, to face the fear and uncertainty, through the medium of sound, story, and emotion.

TodoMal Announce Doomy New Album 'Graveyards of Joy'

TodoMal are announcing their third album and first for Season of Mist. Graveyards of Joy arrives as the closing chapter of a trilogy that the atmospheric doom metal band started in 2021 with Ultracrepidarian and deepened in 2023 with A Greater Good.

To commemorate this announcement, today, TodoMal are releasing a music video for the album’s lead single “Point of Coalescence”. The song is a fitting entry point to Graveyards of Joy; it’s dense, dark and uncompromising, dealing in shame, violence and the slow erosion of consciousness, with surreal and cosmic horror imagery that gives it an unsettling, almost theatrical edge.

Watch the music video for “Point of Coalescence” below:

Graveyards of Joy comes out July 3, 2026 on Season of Mist

Graveyards of Joy channels grief, anger and hard-won hope through a sound rooted in the slow-burning weight of classic doom and dramatic rock. Vast Hammond organ-driven passages give way to desolate folk; strings with Morriconian openness sit alongside heavy, anchoring riffs. The album draws on a wide range of reference points, from the orchestral sweep of Vangelis and the warmth of Deep Purple to the dramatic sensibility of Tindersticks and Nick Cave, without losing the solemnity that defines TodoMal.

TodoMal came to life in 2020, conceived by Anglo-Spanish musician and composer Christopher B. Wildman and musician, composer and producer Javier Fernández Milla: two veteran multi-instrumentalists of the Spanish underground scene whose careers span a wide range of projects and styles. A product of pure serendipity, TodoMal represents a deeply personal fusion of the solemnity of traditional doom metal and the expansiveness of space rock, interwoven with nuances of ecclesiastical music, classic hard rock and cinematic soundscapes.

Their debut album, Ultracrepidarian (2021), evokes the placid yet desolate moorlands of their base in northern Alcarria and the region of Matarraña (Teruel), two emblematic landscapes of Spain's so-called "emptied lands." With A Greater Good(2023), the duo crafted a collection of what they describe as "dark songs," evolving into a complex, dense and unclassifiable album that appeared on several year-end lists and sold through its initial pressing. Fuelled by this momentum, they expanded into a five-piece live ensemble, joining forces with Javier Félez (guitar; Teitanblood, Graveyard, Balmog), Javier "Bud" Martínez (drums; Dejadeath, Jade, Ktulu) and Cecilia Tallo (keyboards/vocals; Maud the Moth).

Graveyards of Joy is the third album and the closing chapter of a trilogy. Written in solitude following personal tragedy, it channels grief, anger and hard-won hope into nine tracks of slow-burning, widescreen doom. The music breathes: vast Hammond-driven passages give way to desolate folk, Morricone-like strings open onto dusty cinematic plains, and heavy riffs anchor songs that never lose sight of melody. A DIY record of striking emotional depth and modern, alternative edge.

MORTIIS Unveils Music Video for Trippy New Single, "Violent Silence"

Iconic Norwegian artist MORTIIS is now unveiling a stunning music video for his trippy new single, "Violent Silence." The clip was once again written and directed by Claudio Marino and can be found below.

"Lyrically, 'Violent Silence' came into being as an apology to my wife," MORTIIS admits ruefully. "I had done something stupid again, and she was really upset. I was trying to apologise in a text message – a really long one. The lyrics for 'Violent Silence' took a lot of inspiration from those words and that moment. As time goes by and having lived with this song for quite a while now, it gets harder for me to listen to those words. The gut-wrenching sensation of guilt never goes away fully. Musically, it was a very inspiring song to work on – especially with all those crazy fuzz and echo guitars that built up this song towards the end."

"Violent Silence" is taken from MORTIIS' upcoming studio album, 'Ghosts of Europa,' which is due on June 26, 2026 via Prophecy Productions, making it his debut to the label! 'Ghosts of Europa' is available as ltd. box set incl. 2CD artbook edition, gatefold LP (excl. handmade sand-filled vinyl), bonus LP, music cassette et al. (50 copies). Ltd. box set incl. 2CD artbook edition, gatefold LP (excl. 'galaxy' metallic vinyl), bonus LP, music cassette et al. (450 copies). As a 60-page hardcover 2CD artbook incl. 8-track bonus CD, ltd. MORTIIS is now on the road with UADA for a very special co-headliner, featuring exclusive anniversary sets and supporting performances by Jerome Reuter’s ROME and WRAITH KNIGHT. unpeople Return With Video for Ferocious New Single "clouds"

The formidable unpeople return today with the video for their ferocious new single "clouds" — a whirlwind track offering unforgettable hooks, and addictive harmonies, through to crushing riffs and singalongs — out now on SharpTone Records.

"clouds" embodies everything that unpeople are about. At its core, the track is a defiant rejection of external pressure, trend-chasing, and the hollow pursuit of validation.

Listen HERE and watch the video Below.

"'clouds' is essentially about not letting yourself be influenced by what other people think you should be doing to get ahead artistically, and trusting your own vision and process," explains frontman Jake Crawford. "I could feel myself being pulled in lots of directions when we started the band and I'm glad we stuck to our guns. I feel like this song is an excellent representation of us doing just that: 'Not buying it,' i.e. quick fixes or hopping on trends — be it musically or the way we present ourselves as a unit."

Comprised of Crawford, Luke Caley, Em Lodge, and Richard Rayner, unpeople are a unique four-piece driven with a mission to fuse powerful lyricism, hefty riffs, and melodic accessibility, and the band channels collective frustration into music that speaks directly to those who feel overlooked or undervalued. The meaning behind their name lies at the core of their identity: "Unpeople" — those deemed politically unimportant or without value. It's a concept the band embraces fully, creating a space where like-minded individuals can find genuine connection.

With just the one EP under their belts, unpeople continue to massively impress and see their sound combine hook-laden choruses, bone-crunching breakdowns, and lush harmonies, challenging preconceived notions of what heavy music can be. Tracks released already include "the garden" + "waste."

This same insatiable energy translates effortlessly to their live shows, which have already seen them support the likes of Metallica and Coheed & Cambria. And this summer will see a string of festival appearances that include a huge Main Stage opening slot at Download Festival, as well as Slam Dunk, Hurricane, Southside, Copenhell, and more — full dates below.

With "clouds," unpeople reaffirm their place as a band unafraid to challenge both themselves and their audience, delivering a powerful and timely message.

We are unpeople. You are unpeople. We are all unpeople.

The Joy Thieves unveil video for 'The Wrong End of Your Rifle' feat. Chris Connelly

Chicago alt-rock outfit The Joy Thieves are back with ‘The Wrong End of Your Rifle’, along with a new video by Joel Lopez at Lumbra Productions. This is the first single from their full-length album 'Apocalypse Pending', out June 5th via Armalyte Industries. Featuring Chris Connelly (Fini Tribe, Revolting Cocks, Ministry, Pigface)on vocals, this ripping track addresses the intense frustration we’re all feeling over corporations and billionaires seemingly able to do whatever they want, whenever they want, without consequence.

Revolving around musicians-producers Dan Milligan and James Scott (a.k.a. Joy Thieves Productions), The Joy Thieves is a musical supergroup that includes current, former, and touring members of Ministry, Stabbing Westward, The Rollins Band, Killing Joke, Pigface, RevCo, PIG, David Bowie, Blue October, Machines of Loving Grace, Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, KMFDM, Naked Raygun, Foetus, My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult, Pegboy, Nitzer Ebb, Die Krupps and more.

A jagged, cynical critique of the intersection between state violence, corporate greed, and digital voyeurism, ‘The Wrong End of Your Rifle’  portrays a world where human life is devalued and even the most violent acts are packaged as content or conveniently filtered, filmed yet ultimately ignored by the screen-numbed masses.

“When the billionaires are accountable for nothing, and force their will by suppression in the streets, we have to become inventive. As we are forced to watch corporations create for-profit prisons, we must remember that we can't argue or reason with bullets,” says Chris Connelly.

Since signing with legendary London alternative-industrial label Armalyte Industries in 2018, The Joy Thieves have delivered 11 critically-acclaimed releases. Produced, engineered and mixed by Joy Thieves Productions at Populist Recording + Mastering, 'Apocalypse Pending' is the newest record to blaze a mind-bending trail.

Joy Thieves Productions crafts their surprisingly cohesive signature sound from the contributions of its ever-growing 80+ roster of members, drawn from a diverse range of genres, including industrial, rock, punk, darkwave, hip hop and experimental music, they produce a sound that The Joy Thieves describe as being created by “all of us. And yet, none of us”. This approach has allowed the band to create a sound all its own. Aggressive, yet precise. Confrontational, but refined. Harsh, yet layered with melody.

Many of the songs on the new album began with producer-drummer Dan Milligan re-recording iconic hip hop breakbeats with modern drum sounds. ‘The Wrong End of Your Rifle’ began exactly that way -- with a modern re-imagining of the one of the most famous breakbeats of all time (‘Ashley’s Roachclip’ by The Soul Searchers). This formed the basis upon which the entire track was built.

“At the very beginning of the creation process for Apocalypse Pending, the goal was to blend the existing Joy Thieves’ sound with elements of the golden age of hip hop, and I think ‘The Wrong End of Your Rifle’ does that as well as any song on the album,” says Dan Milligan.

For a band with members spread all over the world, The Joy Thieves' music feels like it could have only been made in Chicago. Anchored by their love of industrial rock, their music immediately outgrows the restrictions of the genre by stretching into the new realms, creating a sound that both honors the past while pushing its evolution into the future.

‘The Wrong End of Your Rifle’ is out now, available from digital music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. The 'Apocalypse Pending' album will be released on June 5th.
