CASKETS ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM REFLECTIONS OUT AUGUST 11 VIA SHARPTONE RECORDS

Yorkshire melodic metallers Caskets have announced their new album, Reflections, out August 11 on SharpTone Records. To mark the announcement, the Leeds quintet has released a new single, "More Than Misery," featuring a guest appearance from The Word Alive's Telle Smith.

Speaking of the track, frontman Matt Flood says, "'More Than Misery' is written around the conflict of being hypnotically entranced by someone or something that in the end, you know will only lead to toxic habits or bad intentions. Everyone has felt this and been in this situation in one way or another throughout their life. It's about not wanting to be in this situation and feeling the struggle of bearing the weight of pressure it puts on your shoulders — how it can affect every other thing around you, from your mental health to the relationships you build around you."

"There is light at the end of the tunnel though," he states. "To even acknowledge the situation and build a foundation of support around you to come face to face with what it is that's holding you back. If you just take a step into the unknown, you'll see your life is more than just misery."

There's an art to looking back. For Caskets, it could have been easy to plough forwards regardless, riding the wave of success from their breakthrough debut Lost Souls (over 80 million streams to date), that opened tours up across the United States and mainland Europe, and secured appearances at landmark festivals Download and Slam Dunk. But having swapped the bedrooms that fostered album number one for countless hours on the road, reflecting on that journey and the decisions that led them down certain paths quickly became unavoidable.

If Lost Souls was primarily driven by vocalist Matt Flood's personal experiences, Reflections delivers a wider picture of Caskets as a whole, borne out of the usual interpersonal differences that all bands face at least once in their career. For some it marks the end, but for others, it fosters a collaborative environment that pushes the music well beyond what has come before.

The result reflects each individual member of Caskets, with Matt joined by guitarists Benji Wilson and Craig Robinson, bassist Chris McIntosh, and drummer James Lazenby. The record's more upbeat moments carry impactful melodies, upping the ante from Lost Souls with considered force, while the powerful ambient moments play out with real finesse.

In a step away from the singular retellings of Lost Souls, Dan Weller (Bury Tomorrow, Enter Shikari, Holding Absence) produced Reflections is a series of individual lessons, looking back at a specific moment in one of the band member's lives; a thought, feeling or events, and how that moment shaped the present.

"Reflections shows how much more we can get out of the band musically if we all put our heads together a bit more," Matt beams, positive about a record that not only showcases Caskets as a full entity but represents the impressive range of influences that have soundtracked the five piece's times on the road and in the studio, helping to rapidly expand their sound. "It's always about the music, that’s the whole point of being in a band," he concludes. "If we can fit as much into our sound but it still sounds like us, that's my lifelong goal with Caskets."

AlienBlaze Releases New Single "Lovesick" featuring OmenXIII via Sumerian Records

AlienBlaze has unveiled her new single “Lovesick” featuring fellow Sumerian Records artist OmenXIII, seeing AlienBlaze enter a new hybrid world of rock meets rap. “Lovesick” is produced by Kid Brunswick and mixed by Dan Lancaster (Muse, Bring Me The Horizon). Listen to the track at the link here.

AlienBlaze is a 20-year-old mad-as-hell singer/songwriter and lead guitarist crafting genre-fluid anthems resulting in a fascinating hybrid of everything from dark alternative pop, grunge and emo, to rock and electronic elements. Her dominating presence emits an angsty appeal, encouraging a sense of self-empowerment to her young audience.

In her school years, AlienBlaze spent most of her time at home through sickness, so spent hours and hours learning the electric guitar on her mum’s old guitar, wanting to play like her guitar inspirations Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains and Slash. Blaze’s sense of alienation from her peers is what inspired her to add the ‘alien’ part to her name as an artist.

Her latest single “Lovesick” features fellow Sumerian Records artist OmenXIII, seeing AlienBlaze enter a new hybrid world of rock meets rap. The artist shares, “I always wanted Lovesick to be a tortured love song, but it actually works even better as a duet. I just love what OmenXIII has done with his verse and I think our two styles actually give the song an extra intensity.”

Produced by Kid Brunswick and mixed by Dan Lancaster (Muse, Bring Me The Horizon), “Lovesick” takes inspiration from a multitude of artists such as Bring Me The Horizon, Linkin Park and The Cure, as well as EDM/ rap elements from Lil Peep and the lyrical style of Billie Eilish. Featuring raucous guitars, colliding percussion and a throbbing bass line, OmenXIII’s verse adds an interesting twist to the track, allowing things to cool off before AlienBlaze re-enters with her bold and brazen energy.

Covering topics such as the everyday experiences of a young adult, to more poetic themes including pathetic fallacy and imagery from nature, AlienBlaze delivers her message in a way that allows listeners from all walks of life to interpret it.

Since only uploading her first song to Spotify in 2019, she has received attention from numerous Spotify editorial playlists, garnering hundreds of thousands of plays. Heart Of A Coward Share Video For "Decay" — WATCH

British heavyweights Heart Of A Coward have just released the video for the new track "Decay" that shows a more emotional and calmer side from vocalist Kaan Tasan.

"'Decay' is written about the certainty of time. Every second that passes we move closer to death. Everything we love will die, everything we know will end. So make the most of the time you have," says Tasan.

The band is known for its heavy and aggressive sound, which combines elements of metalcore, deathcore, and djent. They are also known for incorporating melodic elements into their music, creating a balance between heaviness and melody.

Heart Of A Coward released their debut album, Hope and Hindrance, in 2012, which received critical acclaim and helped establish the band's sound and style. They have since released several other albums, including Severance (2013), Deliverance (2015), and The Disconnect (2019).

Yesterday, May 10, the Grand Ole Opry and Opry NextStage hosted a sold-out crowd for "Opry NextStage Live" at Lava Cantina in The Colony, Texas. The show served as an official introduction of the Opry NextStage Class with performances by 2023 members Ashley Cooke, Jackson Dean, ERNEST, Chapel Hart, Corey Kent, Kameron Marlowe, Megan Moroney and Ian Munsick. Genre-bending singer/songwriter and three-time CMT Music Awards-winner, Jelly Roll, served as the concert’s MC. 
 
The festivities preceded tonight’s 58th Academy of Country Music Awards taking place in neighboring Frisco, Texas and a portion of proceeds from the concert benefitted ACM Lifting Lives. Fan’s unable to attend can WATCH performances on the Opry's YouTube Channel HERE.

Swedish Deathglam kings DEATHSTARS released their fifth studio album Everything Destroys You last week, which was eagerly awaited from their loyal fans.
Today, the band presents the video for the album’s title track ´Everything Destroys You´, which is directed by Damon Zurawski, who also did the video for ´Midnight Party´.
The video was filmed in the cold, hard surroundings of an old, abandoned slaughterhouse in Stockholm.
Whiplasher tells about the video: ”Everything Destroys You” is a video that literally destroys the band. We have killed the band in quite a few of our videos, and for those who want to see us dead once again this is another excellent opportunity to see that happen. On one hand you could see Nightmare busy behind swaying chains in the cellar, while Skinny is working on a double bass at the same time as I got electric shocks from a depraved nurse."

To herald the album's announcement, the band has shared the video for first single "A MILLION MILES."

 The Iowa quartet continues to bring audiences together with a one-two punch of pummeling metallic grooves and towering melodies. Amassing tens of millions of streams and earning acclaim from Revolver, Guitar World, Loudwire, and many more, the group fortify an unbreakable bond with listeners on their second full-length offering, THIS IS IT…THE END OF EVERYTHING [Spinefarm]. "As a society, we're so glued to our phones and social media," notes Blake. "When we finally got out of quarantine, we personally needed to take a mental break from it. If you think about it, we don't even have to talk anymore, since communication happens online. So, step back from social media, get out there, shake hands, and live a little bit. You don't have to exist through your phone. Capture the moment in your head and tell the story out loud to someone."

Saul emerged out of the Midwest in 2017 and tirelessly bulldozed a path to the forefront of modern rock. They notably performed alongside everyone from Motionless In White, Atreyu, August Burns Red, Crown The Empire, Bush, and 10 Years to HELLYEAH and Nonpoint in addition to gracing the stages of festivals, including Rebel Rock, Rock Fest, Rock USA, Inkcarceration, and Blue Ridge Rock Fest with Rob Zombie, Mudvayne, and Slipknot. The group independently landed a bona fide hit in the form of "Brother"— an homage to the co-founders' late brother Caleb. One of the first wave of American black metal bands, PROFANATICA have purveyed primeval blasphemy on nigh for three decades, vomiting forth the most vulgar strain of black metal ejaculate. Led by founder Paul Ledney, the trio desecrate everything sacred with a ferocious stream of chainsaw guitars and relentless battery. PROFANATICA walk as kings in the murky depths of the black metal scene.

In 1990, Aragon Amori, Paul Ledney, and Brett Makowski departed INCANTATION due to artistic differences, leading to the birth of PROFANATICA. Influenced by such classic cults as VENOM, NECROVORE, SARCOFAGO, and BATHORY, the unholy trinity together had a passion to create raw and sacrilegious Black Metal. The band has since released four full-lengths and over a dozen demos, splits, and compilations. However, their story is not one without controversy as the masters for what was supposed to be their first full-length, initially titled ‘The Raping of the Virgin Mary,’ were unfortunately destroyed in the studio, although, there are conflicting stories about what really happened. The band parted ways until Ledney resurrected PROFANATICA with two new members in 2001. Despite dropping their first demo in 1990, their long overdue debut full-length, ‘Profanatitas de Domonatia,’ was released 17 years after the band’s conception.

In 2019, PROFANATICA formed an unholy union with Season of Mist and released ‘Rotting Incarnation of God,’ which was nothing short of blasphemous perversions, sacrilegious incantations, and furious, unrelenting black metal. The band — vocalist Kiarely Taylor, bassist/vocalist Janel Duarte, guitarist Isabel Johnson, drummer Samantha Landa, and guitarist Kristen Sturgis— has also shared the video for new single "welcome2paradise." And it lets out a thunderous roar. Watch it below. 

"This song is special to all of us for a lot of reasons," says Sturgis. "We really wanted to stretch our musical muscles and play around with time signatures. We recorded some of the production ourselves, including drilling sounds you'll hear sprinkled throughout the song. Artistically, we really stepped out of our comfort zone and we ended up with something really special."

The song also takes a close look at a very important topical issue.

"It's sad that humans don't care about our environment," Sturgis continues. "I was especially inspired by a situation close to my heart. I live on the Great Lakes, which contain 20% of the earth's freshwater. There is a 70-year-old pipeline called Line 5 that is in very rough shape and runs through the water where Lake Huron and Lake Michigan meet. The current is especially turbulent there. The pipeline keeps getting hit by boat anchors. I am not here to preach anti-fossil fuels, as electric vehicles come with their own environmental tolls, and touring bands have to drive gas-guzzling vehicles to play for our fans. But if a spill happened in that spot, it's in the worst possible place, due to the strong currents. A Great Lakes spill could affect major cities like Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Windsor, Toronto, and Rochester, NY. Tourism, fishing industries, and boating would all be affected. And with all of the droughts happening around the U.S., it's going to be everyone's problem soon. Right now, there's just one small local organization trying to draw attention to it, but If I can do anything with this song release, it would be to shine a spotlight on something I care so much about." 

Landing on the Billboard charts, the band's 2015 self-titled debut racked up more than 30 million streams, driven by powerful tracks like the Kerrang! Awards Best Song nominee "At War." After a hiatus, CONQUER DIVIDE reemerged on the scene with the heavy and anthemic "Chemicals" in 2020, which Alternative Press called a "contender for best hard rock/metalcore crossover of the year."

PhaseOne + RedHook Share "Gangrene" — LISTEN

PhaseOne has been turning heads over the past year with a series of EDM and metal scene collabs, paring with forward-thinking heavy bands ERRA, Polaris, and Void of Vision to explosive effect.

Today, the EDM artist is taking an artistic left turn as he concludes his PhaseOne x UNFD mixtape project with "Gangrene." A gnarly, urgent audio rocket created in collaboration with fellow Australian act RedHook, "Gangrene" sets a frantic, breakneck DnB beat in contrasting lockstep with cutting guitars, shimmering synths andEmmy Mack's unique and  beguiling vocals and sweat-inducing percussion. It's heavy in a different way.

"This was a fun one to work on," PhaseOne states. "RedHook sent me the original demo idea and I immediately started getting inspiration how to add some electronic elements to it and knew instantly it called for a DNB drop. I began working on an idea just using the original WAV file demo they sent me and I'm pretty sure I turned an idea in for them to hear that same day and they loved the vision."

He continues, "We then pretty quickly wrapped up the final recording stems, collaborating with a little back and forth before I wrapped up the mix and master. It was nice to write something more punk-poppy, as I've usually gone more of a metal route but I love the way it still seamlessly flows and intertwines the rock and electronic elements."

RedHook is equally as excited about the collab, sharing, "'Gangrene' is a song about severing ties with a toxic partner. Even though they might feel like they've become a part of you, sometimes cutting them off completely is the only way to save yourself."

She continues, "Craig and I have been huge PhaseOne fans for years, so it was hard not to fangirl our little brains out when Graeme hit us up to collab. He was so effortless and fun to work with, the song was like a ball we kept bouncing back and forth and it just kept getting bigger and badder every time."

Little kids, girls’ trippers, mothers and teenage daughters, elders and men of varying ages were gathered in a line that ran down the block and across Miranda Lambert Way. They were all there hoping to get inside the store to buy a copy of hometown girl Miranda Lambert’s Y’ALL EAT YET? Welcome to the Pretty B*tchin’ Kitchen.
 
Fresh from the news she that she is now a New York Times best-selling author, with Y’ALL EAT YET? landing at No. 3 behind multiple-year top 10 title Atomic Habits and Rick Rubin’s multiple-week No. 1 The Creative Act, Lambert returned to her hometown to sign copies of her first book. Joining her for the trip was anchor Rhiannon Ally of ABC’s “Good Morning America,” who interviewed her and mother Beverly at the Lamberts’ home for a feature that runs this Thursday, May 11 during the 8 a.m. hour.
 
“All those faces, all the smiles and some of the young women who I see myself in when I was their age…” Lambert mused. “After a week of being in New York City and L.A., coming back to Lindale was the perfect way to wrap up this amazing run. We brought this book back to the very place its stories came from, and I got to share the celebration with the people who were so much a part of it.”
 
In addition to Lambert and her mom, Y’ALL EAT YET’s featured YaYas Vicki Plaxico, Denise (Neicy) Watson and Heidi Prather, plus co-author Holly Gleason were also on hand and signing books at various stations in the Pink Pistol. “The people here live every word in this book, all these recipes and places, so it was extra important to get that right. I wanted this book to be about my mom, her friends and my Nonny and her friends, all the love and strength they gave me. But it’s also about how the people where I’m from live and come together.”
 
After signing the memoir/cookbook – a celebration of how those relationships empower people, especially during the good times, but also when the going gets tough – Lambert got to meet up with her Nonny’s besties, the original YaYas, for a private signing. With her father Rick on hand, the family vibe defined the day – and everyone present marveled at how personal the stories told were, all about their own traditions, moments and memories.
 
With Texas Monthly raving “it’s a Texan’s dream” and Forbes declaring it a “celebration,” Lambert – the reigning Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year – heads to Frisco, Texas for the ACM Awards, streaming live on Prime Video this Thursday, April 11. "The word 'liberty' has been hijacked by a certain cohort of people to excuse selfish and apathetic behavior as part of a vague, pseudo-Libertarian worldview," the band states. "This song is a reflection of this trend that most of us have seen in our post-COVID daily life."

Armed with crushing metallic riffs, instantly both fresh and familiar, Incendiary populate each of their four full-length albums with irresistibly energized rhythms and adrenalized urgency. Change The Way You Think About Pain is their leanest and unapologetically meanest yet. The quartet weaned on the Long Island, New York, hardcore scene have more to say than ever. Sharply biting and insightful lyrics sit atop blunt metalcore in a perfect soundtrack to throw a brick through a window. 

Incendiary deliver a sound of its own, mixing classic passion and modern power. Frontman Brendan Garrone, guitarists Brian Audley and Rob Nobile, and drummer Dan Lomeli cite East Coast hardcore heroes like Vision Of Disorder, 108, Indecision, and Glassjaw as part of Incendiary's formative DNA. Less familiar listeners might liken them to a very heavy Rage Against The Machine. 

The band returned to Will Putney of Graphic Nature Audio (Knocked Loose, Every Time I Die, Vein.fm) to engineer, mix and master the new release. Many essential genre bands never made a second album, let alone a fourth. "We are kind of in rare territory being a hardcore band on their fourth LP," Garrone concedes. "It feels like a milestone. By now, you're either 'supposed' to drastically change your sound or have it be the exact same thing as the record before," he adds. "We didn't want to do either of those things. Our focus was on refining the sound that we've optimally been working towards rather than any desire to make a huge pivot." Audley says that in addition to the more focused songwriting on Change The Way You Think About Pain, "we also wanted it to be more aggressive and more abrasive, in terms of songs and production."

Thematically, Incendiary's fourth album confronts the hyper-polarization of American society, those who confuse selfishness with freedom, and the lengths we'll go to in order to avoid pain and maintain comfort. The socio-political pulse found throughout Cost of Living remains, with a deeper exploration of the introspective personal lyrics Garrone started to introduce on Thousand Mile Stare. "The album is a mix of both the socio-politically driven content and darker, more personalized subjects. The album title is meant to conjure the concept of pain avoidance," Garrone explains. "Most of the songs have some kind of tie back to the things everyone does to avoid feeling any semblance of pain. 'Pain avoidance' is a phrase me and Brian came across and kept in the back of our minds."

PREY FOR SUNDAY Release New Single "Tattoo Man" to all major platforms!

Prey for Sunday is a modern hard rock band that stirs up thoughts of Chris Cornell, Shinedown, and 3 Days Grace, and many other well known artists in this genre. Prey for Sunday is a combination of highly melodic, and dynamic song writing. Hailing from Los Angeles, CA Prey For Sunday formed in 2018 by singer Tony Persico, and Ex-Takara Guitarist Neal Grusky.

Neal and Tony worked with Producer/Songwriter Peter Strzelecki to write and record the first Prey For Sunday album. Realizing the immediate chemistry they shared a vision; a need to create a unique, memorable sound that would go on to become Prey for Sunday – Music that’s made to stand the test of time. They pride themselves in creating musically dynamic songs, with meaningful, melodic, and “like it is” lyrical content.

Tony and Neal proceeded to release their 5 song EP in 2021/2022. This EP featured Prey For Sunday's first two highly successful singles/videos for the songs "Dont Let It End", and "Broken Hearted Man".

The band has now released their 3rd single "Tattoo Man". Along with their producer Peter Strezelecki, Prey For Sunday believe this song will be their breakout hit. "There has been nothing like this song that has had such a profound impact on us thus far."
