Metalcore band Preacher released their new single "Dystopia" to all major platforms via Daeth Records/TLG/INgrooves on February 17, 2023. The single is from their forthcoming EP, Blur. Today, the band released the official music video for the single.

Preacher drops a second brand new single titled “Dystopia” that is both radio-worthy AND all screaming??! Yes, you heard that correctly. The boys are back at it again bringing you your very own soundtrack to the apocalypse. With blazing guitar leads, scream-driven vocals, and a beat that really brings the party, this one is sure to release the wild side within.

Caitlyn Smith Releases Vulnerable Track, "The Great Pretender"

Self-Produced Third Album, HIGH & LOW, Due April 14, 2023
On Monument Records

After completing her new album High & Low and turning the self-produced body of work in to her label, Caitlyn Smith wrote a song so powerful and important that the only answer was to cut it overnight, alone in her home. The recording’s vulnerability and isolation serves The Great Pretender,” an appropriate closing track for her third studio project arriving April 14 on Monument Records.

“‘The Great Pretender’ is about the mask I’m guilty of putting on, pretending everything is perfect, when in reality, it’s anything but,” says the Critics Choice winner. “I wrote this song after High & Low was finished and turned in, but I knew it was too important to not have on the album, so I recorded it in my house alone.”

Nobody knows I’m crying in a bathroom stall
I’m living in a house of cards about to fall
But I make them believe that I’ve never been better
        I am the great pretender
        I am the great pretender

“I’d realized that I’d grown into this version of myself that only wanted to show and talk about the highs and became quite dependent on keeping up this façade that I have it all together,” Smith shares. “Real life is gritty, and wild, and never perfect, and it’s given me so much freedom to be able to be more vulnerable not always put on a happy face, and be honest and unafraid of the more difficult feelings.”

Written by Smith with Bob DiPiero and Joe Clemmons, you can listen to “The Great Pretender” below.

The additional six new tracks balance 2022’s critically-acclaimed High, celebrated by NPR as “her most fully realized project yet,” with High & Low capturing the full picture of who Smith is as an artist and as a creator – where embracing the yin and yang simply makes you more human.

Pre-save High & Low HERE.

In addition to celebrating the release of High last year, the Minnesota native earned her first Academy of Country Music Awards nomination for New Female Artist of the Year. With an upcoming performance at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium's "Rock the Ryman" concert on March 1, Smith announces more shows soon.

Last year, she released her self-produced project High, and this spring, completed the second half of that album, adding six new songs to make her full record, High & Low. Brantley Gilbert Announces SO HELP ME GOD (DELUXE EDITION) Set for 4/21

Georgia Native Celebrates FOUR New RIAA Certifications, Including
6X Platinum “Bottoms Up” + 2X Platinum “One Hell Of An Amen,”
“The Weekend” and “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do”

“Heaven By Then” with Blake Shelton ft. Vince Gill
Continues Climbing the Charts at Country Radio

Gilbert Joins Nickelback for the Get Rollin’ Tour This Summer;
Tickets Available at BrantleyGilbert.com

Multi-Platinum country star Brantley Gilbert began his career 15 years ago as a songwriter. Now, even with five No. 1 singles as an artist (and two additional as a writer) and three chart-topping albums, the Georgia native still considers himself a songwriter first and foremost, and it’s that approach that brought So Help Me God (Deluxe Edition) to life. Set for release April 21 via The Valory Music Co., the project showcases Gilbert’s vast medley of influences alongside a wide cast of collaborators. Pre-order and pre-save available HERE.

“We’ve always been a little outside of the box when it comes to writing and recording,” shares Gilbert. “It’s not necessarily something we’ve done on purpose, but it tends to happen because we always try to serve the song as it takes shape rather than shaping the song to serve us.

“If a song is asking for a harder edge, let’s do that. If it feels a little more introspective, let’s lean into that. This album intersects across a lot of different genres, and we’re proud to say that it’s something that happened naturally,” he explains.

So Help Me God (Deluxe Edition) acts as the next chapter in Gilbert’s life as he cowrote all 15 tracks on the project, including current chart-climbing single “Heaven By Then” with Blake Shelton featuring Vince Gill, giving the song perspective “from three different generations of country music,” Billboard observes, while noting the track is “capturing the reluctance often applied to change.”

Building upon the 10 songs released last year, So Help Me God (Delxue Edition) features five new tracks, including “Behind The Times,” cowritten with Jake Mitchell, Randy Montana and Taylor Phillips, that expands on his current single, detailing some of the parts of rural life that can often feel as though they’re quickly disappearing in this fast-paced world, while “Wrote The Book Around Here” broadens the view of Gilbert’s hometown in previously released “Miles Of Memories,” recounting some of his own antics as a young man and how there are some things in this world, and a small town, that never change.

Earlier this week, Gilbert revealed four new RIAA certifications: “Bottoms Up” is now 6X Platinum while “One Hell Of An Amen,” “The Weekend” and “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do” are now 2X Platinum, joining additional 2X Platinum songs “Kick It In The Sticks” and “Country Must Be Country Wide,” along with Platinum-certified “What Happens In A Small Town” featuring Lindsay Ell.

Kicking off this summer, Gilbert will join Nickelback for the Get Rollin’ Tour, performing across Canada and the U.S. with 35+ stops including dates in Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston and Nashville before wrapping August 30. Tickets are on sale now and available at BrantleyGilbert.com.

About Brantley Gilbert
With back-to-back Platinum albums and a grassroots following millions strong, Brantley Gilbert’s music has been shared, covered and adopted as the soundtrack to Saturday night and Sunday morning by audiences around the world. The Georgia native who started as the defiant life-of-the-party can still go ‘til sunrise, but he’s also emerged as something far greater: the leader of a massive tribe of hard-working, fun-loving believers for whom electric guitar-shredding, rapping, and twang can go hand-in-hand-in-hand. They call themselves the BG Nation, and when the BG Nation watches Gilbert on a stage, they don’t just see a star. They see themselves. Seven No. 1 hits punctuate his career: RIAA 6x Platinum-certified “Bottoms Up,” 2x Platinum “Country Must Be Country Wide,” 2x Platinum “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do,” 2x Platinum “One Hell of An Amen,” Platinum-certified collaboration with Lindsay Ell “What Happens In A Small Town,” and two chart-toppers as a songwriter with CMA Song of the Year nominee “Dirt Road Anthem” and “My Kinda Party.” Gilbert’s landmark record Just As I Am clinched the 2014 American Music Award for Favorite Country Album. Earning praise from the New York Times, NPR, American Songwriter, and more, Gilbert has mined a rich vein of conflict between the party and the pew on all of his albums. Instead of toiling in limbo, unable to enjoy good times for fear of Judgment Day, Gilbert fully lives––rowdy friend, man of faith, devoted husband, smitten new father––just as he is. So Help Me God (Deluxe Edition) is set for release April 21 via The Valory Music Co. and features chart-climbing single “Heaven By Then” with Blake Shelton featuring Vince Gill. Gilbert will join Nickelback this summer for the Get Rollin’ Tour, featuring 35+ dates across North America. Ashley McBryde Unveils New Single "Light On In The Kitchen" Impacting Country Radio 3/27

Grand Ole Opry Member’s New Single Impacts Country Radio March 27

McBryde Joins “The Jennifer Hudson Show” Wednesday, March 1

GRAMMY Award winner Ashley McBryde has spent most of her life on the road and often writes about her experiences being away from her loved ones, evidenced by songs like “Sparrow” and live set favorite “Made For This.” With “Light On In The Kitchen,” written by McBryde with Connie Harrington and Jessi Alexander, the Arkansas native celebrates the warm glow shared across homes around the world, a symbol of affection signaling that someone may be missing tonight, but thoughts of them are present.

“When I tell someone there’s a ‘Light On In The Kitchen’ for them, to me it means you’re thinking of them, even if they’re not coming home that night,” shares McBryde. “While writing this, we were all able to look back and remember the women in our lives who comforted us, gave us advice and made sure we knew we had a place to go. Writing this song showed me how necessary that simple comfort had been.

“I sent it to the important women in my life, and they reminded me that they still leave the kitchen light on for me, just like when I was growing up. Knowing someone, somewhere is thinking of you in that way can get you through a lot. And it’s a bonus that now we get to say, ‘I love you’ or ‘I’m thinking of you’ by saying ‘The light’s on for ya.’”

Released today via Warner Music Nashville, “Light On In The Kitchen” conjures up images of those late nights spent at the kitchen table with a trusted confidant, the one person in the world with which you can unapologetically be yourself, all while they give you a little motherly advice:

Today’s release follows the Grand Ole Opry member’s triumphant two-night sold-out run of Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville Live at Ryman Auditorium, with American Songwriter praising, “Between the humorously crafted songs and brilliant creativity of some of Nashville’s brightest stars, with a little bit of heart mixed in, Live From Lindeville is easily one of the most unique shows Nashville has seen,” while POLLSTAR observes, “McBryde takes the caricatures and injects so much humanity into every stereotype… These songs serve as vignettes and scenarios, but also deliver pathos without getting saccharine.”

McBryde will appear on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” on March 1 to discuss “Light On In The Kitchen” and recent GRAMMY Award win for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for her No. 1 duet “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” with Carly Pearce. Check your local listings for timing.

Set to perform two shows in her home state tonight, Feb. 24 and tomorrow, Feb. 25, McBryde will embark on a run of additional headlining shows, festivals, two dates at the Grand Ole Opry, three dates with Eric Church on The Outsiders Revival Tour and seven shows with Jelly Roll this spring and summer. Tickets are available at AshleyMcBryde.com.

Dunes recently completed their first-ever run of European shows last month, playing to fervent crowds in London, Glasgow, Manchester, and Birmingham in the UK, before finishing up in Amsterdam, Paris, Cologne, Berlin, and Prague. In addition to the new dates, the band's previously announced shows include the Adjacent Music Festival in Atlantic City, NJ on May 28, and five shows on the Sad Summer Festival tour: Jacksonville, and Clearwater FL, on July 6 and 7, Alpharetta, GA on July 8, Portsmouth, VA on July 11 and Baltimore, MD on July 12.

Find the complete tour itinerary here. More dates will be announced soon.

Produced by Will Yip (Turnstile, Circa Survive, Quicksand), Past Lives navigates themes of fearlessness, dependency, nonconformity, and impermanence in a boundary pushing synthesis of post-hardcore and punk that has established L.S. Dunes as one of the rock's most compelling new arrivals. From the gripping, theatrical opener "2022" and the blazing "Bombsquad," to the pummeling, expansive "Permanent Rebellion," and the disarming album closer, "Sleep Cult," Past Lives is an electrifying and emotional ride.

After the shock of the pandemic shutdown, the close friends and mutual admirers urgently realized that "tomorrow" is not promised. "We never knew if we would ever get to play these songs together; in fact, none of us lifelong musicians really knew if we'd ever be able to play music for a live audience ever again," Iero recounts. "'Permanent Rebellion' is about taking back what is rightfully yours," Rule added. "We wanted to do something where you can hear all our bands in it and yet, not have it sound like any one in particular. Our roots are punk rock and hardcore, and the vibe is hope for all the lost souls.”

Praise has come from all corners of the globe including year-end accolades from Guitar World, Revolver (Best New Bands of 2022), Loudwire, Kerrang, Alternative Press: (55 Best Albums of 2022) Brooklyn Vegan: (Best Punk Albums of 2022), Rock Sound (cover), StereogumLoudwire: (Best Rock + Metal Debut LPs 2022) New Noise (cover), Line of Best Fit, Heavy ConsequenceAllMusic, Forbes, and many more.

The Meffs Release New EP 'Broken Britain Pt. 2' via Bottles To The Ground + Unleash New Music Video For "No Future"

British political punk duo The Meffs have today released their latest EP 'Broken Britain Pt. 2'. Produced by legendary punk rocker and songwriter Frank Turner, the EP is the follow-up to their December 2022 drop 'Broken Britain Pt. 1'. Both EPs were released via Bottles To The Ground, Fat Mike of NOFX's new label imprint of Fat Wreck Chords. In celebration of today's news, the band has shared their new music video for "No Future". The track can also be found on the Bottles to the Ground label compilation 'Bottle Music for Broken People', now available on all streaming platforms. Speaking on the EP, The Meffs shared:

Anyone can write a record of love songs, but where's the truth in that? The sequel to Broken Britain Pt.1 is out now on Bottles to the Ground. Produced by Frank Turner. Great songs, good friends, no rules.

(And yes, we really do have those accents.)

Stream 'Broken Britain Pt. 2' here, pre-order the 10" vinyl of the EP here, and watch the music video for "No Future" below.

Since exploding onto the UK scene in 2019, The Meffs - aka Lily on vocals/guitar and Lewis on drums/backing vocals - have built up a reputation as purveyors of frantic punk bangers and an absolute must-see live sensation.

A performance at Frank Turner's Lost Evenings Festival was followed by the band hitting the studio with Turner to record, arguably, their best work yet. Pulling no punches as ever, Lily calls out societal inequality at every opportunity over a wall of hard-hitting melodies.

2022 saw The Meffs sign to Bottles to the Ground, imprint label of Fat Mike's Fat Wreck Chords. Described by Turner as "an absolute monster", Broken Britain Pt.1 and Pt.2 are out now!

Following a multitude of festival appearances and sold-out shows across the UK, May 2023 sees the band embark on their first tour of the UK: BROKEN BRITAIN TOUR. Tickets are available on their website and most major ticket sites. 2023 also sees The Meffs join the likes of Buzzcocks, Grade 2, Barstool Preachers, and Dune Rats on the road, alongside making their Download Festival debut.

If there was ever a time society needed this band to make some noise, it's now, and don't the people know it.

UP THE MEFFS.

Chicago's THE BELLWETHER SYNDICATE summon inner courage and resolve on bursting 'We All Rise' single

"Goth Rock Tornado... hair-raising speed, riff-racing insanity and badass drum/bass force... William Faith‘s edged Goth-infused vocals rumble all over this super-duper sucker-punch steamroller" ~ Turn Up The Volume

"Anything but conventional... the band is one of the most unique dissonant sounds in the scene" ~ Outburn Magazine

“Words so relevant to the time we are living in... Superb... The Bellwether Syndicate is full of brilliant surprises” ~ The Spill Magazine

“The time seems right for a new wave of post-punk to be ushered in... The Bellwether Syndicate is leading the charge” ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"A glittery piece of glamorous darkness...with William Faith’s crooning vocals and Sarah Rose smoothly cascading guitars” ~ Post-Punk.com

Alternative post-punk outfit The Bellwether Syndicate present 'We All Rise' (with video filmed by Sidney Strong), the third single from their 'Vestige & Vigil' album, which will be released in late April via Sett Records in North America and elsewhere via Nexilis Records /  Schubert Music Europe. A tale of hope and struggle, of inner-courage and rage for what could be... A powerhouse of a track, the reflective tone of the verse climaxes in the screaming industrial chorus, stirring both the heart and mind.

Based in Chicago, The Bellwether Syndicate is made up of William Faith (vox, guitars), Sarah Rose Faith (vox, guitars), Philly Peroxide (keyboards, percussion), Stevyn Grey (drums) and Corey Gorey (guitars). Formerly of seminal goth acts Christian Death, Mephisto Walz and Shadow Project and co-founder of Faith & The Muse, William Faith moved from his native Los Angeles to Chicago in 2010, forming The Bellwether Syndicate with his wife, Sarah Rose Faith a.k.a. Scary Lady Sarah, one of the scene’s most eminent DJs and club promoters and host of Nocturna, the longest-running goth event in North America.

“'We All Rise' is both an acknowledgement of and a call to the inner courage we all possess, which gives us the resolve and the strength to go against the prevailing system and try to build the world that lives in all of our hearts and minds. It is said that inside every cynic there is a wounded idealist, and we see this everywhere; the armor we’ve acquired to protect our dreams. This song is about drawing on that courage and believing again; daring to dream again, says William Faith.

This single follows the band's single 'Beacons', its ‘set adrift’ narrative supported by liquid, chorused guitars and distress-signal bass and synth before kicking into a full steam ahead chorus, with chiming, glorious guitars chasing the pulsing beat and soaring vocals all the way home. Earlier, the band released the glam-noir lead track 'Dystopian Mirror', a relentless assault of hard-edged guitars, buzzsaw synths and tribal beats accompanying a guided tour through the realm of mental instability.

Six years in the making, the 'Vestige & Vigil' LP was produced by William Faith, whose credits include Jarboe, Clan of Xymox, Bootblacks and Autumn, and Chad Blinman (Face To Face, Faith and The Muse, Jarboe). Recorded by William Faith at 13 Studio in Chicago, it was mixed by Blinman at The Eye Socket. This album comes 9 years after debuting with 'The Night Watch' EP and four years since their latest single, 'Republik'.

As of February 24, 'We All Rise' is will be available from all fine digital outlets, including Apple MusicSpotify and Bandcamp, where the first two singles can also be found. The full 'Vestige & Vigil' album will be released on April 28. Throughout March, The Bellwether Syndicate will be touring the USA with Clan of Xymox. Tickets are available here.

Aurora Dream Releases New Single "Parallel Colors (2016 Version) Remixed & Remastered"

Instrumental Prog / Math Rock / Metal project Aurora Dream, based in Miami, Florida, has released their new single "Parallel Colors (2016 Version) Remixed & Remastered" on all major platforms".

Aurora Dream's latest release, "Parallel Colors (2016 Version) Remixed & Remastered", is a phenomenal reinvention of the project's original 2016 single. The single serves as a rebirth for the instrumental progressive and math rock project, with a well-executed blend of prog rock, math rock, metal post-rock, and synth/keys layers creating an ethereal experience.

The remixed and remastered version of the song features the addition of real drums from Chris Allison (from Plini) replacing the original midi drums, bringing the track to life in a whole new way. The production layers from Alejandro Hernández, mixing from Simon Grove (from Plini), and mastering from Venezuelan engineer Moises D' Bello have elevated the overall production quality of the song, making it even more exceptional.

The single showcases the exceptional musical talent of guitarist Daniel Morales, bassist Mangus Steed, and drummer Chris Allison. The intricate guitar work, thundering bass lines, and dynamic drumming come together to create a cohesive and captivating sound that is uniquely Aurora Dream.

Overall, "Parallel Colors (2016 Version) Remixed & Remastered" is an exceptional release that showcases the musical prowess of Aurora Dream. This release is a must-listen for fans of instrumental progressive and math rock music. With a full-length album featuring many of the top artists leading the guitar movement of this generation soon to follow, the future looks bright for Aurora Dream.

“I started this project back in 2016 during some of my most difficult times. It was a perfect way to escape my reality for a while and find some inner peace that would help ease my depression and other personal struggles I was facing at the time. Luckily, I had my good friend and roommate Alejandro Hernández who helped with production and pushed me to finally start recording my own music and helped me shape these guitar melodies and sounds into something called “Parallel Colors (Demo Version)”. This release was also possible thanks to my good friend Mangus Steed, who offered help with bass and helped to expand the vision that we had for the song. I feel very grateful that I was able to create something that would lead me to my own journey as a musician and allowed me to collaborate with so many creative people in this industry. This re-release, I hope, can serve as a sneak peek for everything that’s coming next, as I believe it to be not only my best work but also something truly memorable for guitar music as a whole,” says Daniel.

Aurora Dream is a Miami, Florida-based musical project that was founded by Daniel Morales in 2016, during his final months at university. The project was launched with the release of "Parallel Colors (Demo)," a single that was originally meant to be a personal release. However, due to high demand during live shows, Daniel decided to establish a separate project.

Aurora Dream pushes the boundaries of traditional guitar music with its unique fusions, writing styles, and production techniques. Despite this, the project retains its signature progressive, modern, and ethereal sound. As the driving force behind Aurora Dream, Daniel Morales has grown the project independently with the help of numerous talented individuals in the music industry. The result has exceeded his expectations, and the project has expanded beyond his original vision.

Daniel Morales, also known as “Duniel”, is a Venezuelan-American independent guitarist, entrepreneur, and composer. He is best known as the founder of the instrumental project Aurora Dream, and also releases music under his own name where he explores his creative ideas and continues to expand the boundaries of guitar music. Daniel composes, plays guitar, records, and manages his unique brand of instrumental progressive music, all from his bedroom studio. Born in Mérida, Venezuela, on September 11th, 1996, Daniel is considered to be one of the most successful and influential guitarists from his home country. His inspirations revolve around progressive rock, metal, emo, math rock, pop, and experimental music.

ELEGANT WEAPONS UNLEASH NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR “BLIND LEADING THE BLIND,”FROM FORTHCOMING HORNS FOR

Metal fans have been eager to hear what the new collaboration, ELEGANT WEAPONS, sounds like, after the formation of the band – comprised of Rainbow singer Ronnie Romero, Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner, Uriah Heep bassist Dave Rimmer, and Accept drummer Christopher Williams – was first announced last year. Now, the time is finally upon us to get a sneak peek of what lays in store from the quartet, with the new single/video, “Blind Leading the Blind,” which can be  heard via this link: https://ew.bfan.link/blind-leading-the-blind

The video is great and gives a quirky and stylistic representation of the meaning of the song,” explains Faulkner. “The main character is getting drunk on the power he is given by the people that trust him, only to be found out later when his followers really see the truth. When the power is taken away, he is seen for what he really is.”

ELEGANT WEAPONS’ debut full-length, Horns for a Halo (produced by Faulkner’s Priest bandmate, Andy Sneap and featuring album performances by Pantera’s Rex Brown and Judas Priest's Scott Travis), will be dropping May 26th via Nuclear Blast Records, and can already be pre-ordered: https://ew.bfan.link/horns-for-a-halo

And shortly after the album’s release, the group plans on hitting the road, according to the guitarist. “We are very much looking forward to touring and our first tour dates are taking place in Europe starting in June 2023. Fans can expect heavy songs with catchy melodies, great vocals, and lots of riffs! We all live to play live, and can’t wait to take the ELEGANT WEAPONS out onto the live stage.”

As for the music, Richie describes it as “a mix of Jimi Hendrix, Priest, Sabbath, solo Ozzy and Black Label Society, but with a lot of melody, sort of old school and modern at once if that makes any sense, and actually down-tuned a whole step. There are a lot of guitar solos and the songs are on the heavier side. And even though there’s a lot of melody, it’s still going to shake your bones.

Lastly, Faulkner sees a promising/long road ahead for ELEGANT WEAPONS. “As far as the future, we are all dedicated to giving this band the longest life we can. Live shows, tours and future albums. Growing with the fans along the way. The writing process for the second album is already underway and with live dates coming in thick and fast, we are looking forward to seeing how the future evolves for ELEGANT WEAPONS.

And the new video for “Blind Leading the Blind,” is certainly a mighty first step.

HOST's Debut Album, "IX," Is Out Now

Today sees the release of IX, the debut album from burgeoning dark wave duo HOST. To celebrate the release, the band have revealed the AI generated video for 'Divine Emotion'. The video, directed by Pär Lundkvist, pairs the oldest portrait photographs ever taken with the newest technology to bring them to life.

Greg Mackintosh comments "Finally our debut album IX has been released. The culmination of 2 years of poignant reflection."

Watch the video for 'Divine Emotion' below.

About HOST

The origins of HOST do not trace back to the 1999 PARADISE LOST album bearing the same name but instead to the West Yorkshire music clubs of the mid-to-late 1980s. WhileHolmes and Mackintosh were already certified heavy metal fanatics (“metal thrashing mad” as Holmes equates), they were equally drawn to the New Wave and Goth music scenes. The pounding rhythms, sublime melodies and undercurrent of darkness drew them in, creating immediate earworms and a desire to delve further.

Mackintosh finally put plans into motion during the pandemic for a venture that would merge his penchant for sound design with the moods and atmosphere of 1980s dance-pop and Goth. The project was originally a solo pursuit until he asked Holmes, his longtime PARADISE LOST songwriting partner, to join. 'HOST' was selected as the name as a tip of the hat to the aforementioned album that found PARADISE LOST in an unprecedented period of experimentation that eschewed their metal roots and also challenged their fanbase in ways like never before.

“We always stood by 'Host' as an album,” says Mackintosh. “This project is not totally connected to that album, but some of the ideas are extrapolated. We’re taking the basic premise and trying it out now. And, really, it was something fun and interesting for us to do. We’ve been doing PARADISE LOST for a long time and got an itch to try something different from where PL is now. I could take PL down this route again. Who knows? It may happen if we live long enough, but I thought, ‘Why not now?’ I had the time to do it.”

Tenille Townes & Bryan Adams Duet for "The Thing That Wrecks You"

Born from a chance encounter in a stairwell, “The Thing That Wrecks You,” available everywhere now, brings reigning CCMA Entertainer of the Year Tenille Townes and GRAMMY Award winner Bryan Adams together on a vocal performance that matches the energy of the song’s lyrics, describing the moment love careens headfirst towards heartbreak. Listen below.

“I was recording a song for a Hallmark Movie in Vancouver last summer and found myself completely enamored by the recording space we were in,” remembers Townes. “Later in the day, I found out that it was Bryan Adams’ Warehouse Studio, and I actually ran into Bryan himself on the staircase on my way out. We talked for just a few minutes, and I was so happy to meet him because his path as a fellow Canadian has been incredibly inspiring to me, with a collection of songs that have impacted the world in such a huge way.

“Later that night, I thought about ‘The Thing That Wrecks You,’ a song I’d written a while before with Kate York and Daniel Tashian, and how the spirit of that song made me think about his voice,” she continues. “I decided to go out on a limb and sent him the song along with a letter asking if he might be up for singing on it with me. Fast forward to now, where not only have I gotten to sing with a hero of mine, but I have also found a mentor and friend through this whole adventure. This song is evidence to me that putting a wild thought out in the atmosphere and believing in it is a powerful thing.”

Just shy of four minutes, the driving track produced by Townes and her band’s guitarist, Jaxon Hargrove, was recorded with her touring band joining her in-studio as well as with Adams adding his own guitar prowess to the song alongside his vocals. Trading opening lines, the pair come together for a stirring duet on the chorus:

The song offers a preview at new music from Townes, whose most recent project, Masquerades, was released in April 2022 via Columbia Nashville/Sony Music Nashville in partnership with RCA Records. Fans can also catch her on the road this summer, including at major festivals such as Cavendish Beach Music Festival, Faster Horses Festival, Watershed Festival and more.

ABOUT ARCHETYPES COLLIDE:
ARCHETYPES COLLIDE demand repeated listening, mixing everything from Linkin Park and Bring Me The Horizon to The Chainsmokers, and Stranger Things-style retro synths, into a unique musical identity. A collection of singles and EPs drew a devoted fanbase and the attention of Oshie Bichar, bassist for Beartooth. Bichar enlisted his management, and the pair took Archetypes Collide under their wing. Soon after, SiriusXM's Octane got behind songs like "Your Misery," "Becoming What I Hate," and "Above It All." The band appeared on major festivals like Aftershock, Louder Than Life, and Welcome To Rockville, toured with genre giants The Amity Affliction, and crafted an ambitious self-titled debut album for Fearless Records. Archetypes Collide spent several weeks in the first part of 2022 making their inaugural full-length, with a super team surrounding them to execute their vision. Bichar produced alongside Nick Ingram (Dayseeker, Convictions, Hawthorne Heights) at Capital House Studio in Ohio. Additional production came from Jon Eberhard (Skillet, I Prevail, Until I Wake); The Plot In You frontman Landon Tewers lent a creative hand as well. The resulting album, mixed by Jeff Dunne (Ice Nine Kills, Wage War, Make Them Suffer), captures the vibrant spirit of the 2010s-era Warped Tour with a postmodern edge. It's a diverse but singular mission statement, brimming with authenticity and hope. ARCHETYPES COLLIDE aren't bound by preconceived notions or limitations. As single Kyle Pastor explains simply: "Why not take every shot, in every direction, under the umbrella of hard rock and metal?"

The Ongoing Concept Share "Unwanted Again" Video — WATCH

BAND RETURNS WITH ORIGINAL LINEUP + NEW ALBUM AGAIN OUT MARCH 31 VIA SOLID STATE RECORDS

THE ONGOING CONCEPT are back!

The band — brothers Dawson Scholz [vocals, guitar], Kyle Scholz [vocals, keys, percussion], and Parker Scholz [drums] along with TJ Nichols [vocals, bass], and Andy Crateau [vocals, guitar] — has announced its fourth album Again, out March 31 via Solid State Records. Pre-order it here.

Not only is this the first taste of new music from the band since 2017 but it also marks the return of the original lineup.

Today, the band has shared another new single with "Unwanted Again." Watch it below.

"'Unwanted Again' was one of our favorites to write and record," states Dawson. "Being fans of bands like Cory Wong, Dirty Loops, Don Broco, and Vulfpeck, we found ourselves incorporating a lot of groovy elements to this album, and this song really showcases that. It was also fun to bounce vocals back between TJ and I. For longtime fans of our band, we added some subtle references to our song 'Unwanted'; not only in the song, but in the music video as well. Being our second single and coming after a heavy hitter like 'Prisoner Again,' I think this song showcases the variety we put into this album."

For a little history lesson and how the band came back to its original form, keep reading!

The Ongoing Concept emerged with the now-seminal Saloon back in 2013. On its heels, fan favorite Handmade bowed in the Top 10 of the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums Chart and Top Christian Albums Chart in addition to cracking the Top 30 of the Top Independent Albums Chart. In its wake, Kyle, Parker, and TJ departed, leaving Dawson as the sole original member for Places in 2017. As The Ongoing Concept went dormant, the group's catalog continued to react with listeners as the likes of "Cover Girl" clocked over a million Spotify streams and counting. After a period of quiet, communication mended between Dawson and his brothers Kyle and Parker. Between careers, marriages, and kids, they kicked around the idea of playing together once more.

"We’d been playing music since we were six-years-old," notes Dawson. "We lived and breathed the same band together. It's crazy, because I didn't know my brothers outside of music. Taking a break for a few years, we found who we were as normal people and embraced other interests. It was super healthy for all of us. One day, we were hanging out, and I said, 'You know I’ve been working on some little skeletons for songs, and it made sense. The only reason we got back together was because we had our time apart."

They self-produced Again and took their time. The Ongoing Concept integrated "lyrics and Easter Eggs" from previous albums into the record’s framework, embodying the title quite literally.

TO THE GRAVE Drop Music Video For New Track "Found Footage; New Album 'Director's Cuts' Out Tomorrow

Hardline extreme metal squad To The Grave have unveiled their powerful new single / video 'Found Footage' ahead of the release of new album, Director’s Cuts, out tomorrow (24th February) via Unique Leader Records. Watch the official music video for 'Found Footage' below and pre-order the album HERE.

The band comment:

"This song is our attempt at a little storytelling, inspired by stories of Animal Liberation efforts gone wrong (as they commonly can), told from the perspective of someone at the heart of it.”

To The Grave have just completed a mostly SOLD OUT tour in Europe with Shadow Of Intent, Enterprise Earth and Angelmaker. More touring news to be announced soon.

At just over 44 minutes in length, 'Director’s Cuts' is an album packed with ambition and conscience. To The Grave have never shied away from channeling the real horrors of animal cruelty and its impact into the violent, emotional intensity of their music. Songs such as ‘Red Dot Sight’, ‘Found Footage’ and ‘Cut Off The Head’ perfectly conjure images of a world gone astray.

'Director’s Cuts' was recorded by bassist Matt Clarke, with drums recorded live at The Brain Studios in Sydney and mixed and mastered by Lance Prenc at Prenc Audio (Void of Vision, Alpha Wolf, Polaris) in Melbourne with album photography by Animals Uncovered.

The band comment on the new album:

"This is the refinement of our combined musical tastes, fuelled by our sadness and anger at the state of the world. We made the music we wanted to make without really considering how it would fit into any little genre boxes, because we knew if we loved it completely then everyone else would too. These songs are hard and heavy without being technical just for the sake of it.”

Watch the video to their first single "Red Dot Sight", a hard-hitting track about anti-vegan public figures and the media perception against vegan activists, here.

Second single 'Axe of Kindness' continues the band's strong vegan message, watch the video here.

Watch the video to third single 'Cut Off The Head' here.

ABOUT TO THE GRAVE

One of Australia’s most uncompromising bands, To The Grave return with their heaviest album to date, both sonically and thematically. Since the release of their 2019 debut album 'Global Warning', the caustic five piece have garnered international success, with 2021’s follow-up 'Epilogue', a re-issue of 'Global Warning' with bonus tracks, solidifying their position as “one of the country's heaviest exports.” (Revolver).

To The Grave have steadily built an audience in the underground, accumulating more than 11 million Spotify streams, racking up over 5.4 million YouTube views, all whilst decimating live audiences alongside Parkway Drive, PolarisCattle Decapitation, Thy Art Is Murder, Vulvodynia and Alpha Wolf.

Now, following a sold-out national headline tour in 2022 and revitalized by a new lineup, the band are more focused than ever on the eve of the release of their second album 'Director’s Cuts' .

The eleven tracks lyrically expose a societal and environmental hell on earth whilst pushing the boundaries of accessible extremity, full of barbed hooks, thick with atmosphere and drenched in groove. Razor-sharp guitars played with an exploratory approach - blending everything from whammy pedal squeaks and chiming cleans to death metal chainsaw tones - are entwined with live drums to give a level of dynamism that musically sets this band apart from the extreme metal pack, yet they maintain the weight of the heaviest bands today. Vocalist Dane Evans commands a multifaceted performance, bursting with vocal energy from throat-ripping dissonant screeches to low end gutturals.

To The Grave are

Dane Evans - Vocals

Jack Simoni - Guitars, Programming

Luke Ringin - Guitars, Vocals

"We knew when we started writing that we really wanted to make something darker and heavier that was still uniquely Entheos, and we knew that we wanted to make a record that really came from our hearts and captured where we want to take this band," explains vocalist Chaney Crabb.

"The new album also has a strong 'trippy' vibe, not in a generic sense but meaning when you are done listening to it you feel like you’ve gone on a journey," adds multi-instrumentalist Navene Koperweis. "I've always loved albums that gave me that feeling. I can't say we set out to have the experience, it just sort of happened and that's something I'm proud of."

Having stripped down to a two-piece in 2020, this has helped to streamline the band and allow the core members to make the music they want to with no compromise, which is clearly to their betterment. Koperweis — who takes the role of drummer in the band's live lineup — has long written most of the guitar parts, so it was not a radically different writing process, but allowed him the freedom of complete control. "I tell people this album is more of everything that we do, except this time it’s deeper in all directions," says Koperweis. "We're no longer dipping our toe in the pool on certain aspects, when we decide to go somewhere, we fucking go there."

Relying less on synths and electronic production than on previous releases, a lot of the more atmospheric elements are contributed by guitar, and there is even an acoustic guitar for the first time on an Entheos record. Crabb has also pushed herself harder than ever before, interested in consistently practicing to find new pitches and timbres in her voice, and she has most certainly extended the range of her screaming. Using pitched screaming to add melodic lines in many places, this is also the first Entheos record on which she has sung.

When it came to penning the lyrics, Crabb knew that she was going to write about her own "experience as a human" and approach the album based on the lingering awareness many people have, that there is so much world out there and there are so many different experiences to have — but there is so little time. However, this idea really hit home in August 2021 when she got into an accident on her electric scooter on the day she started tracking vocals.

"I do not remember how I fell, but when I woke up I was really badly hurt. Gravel was embedded in my lower lip and had severed the inside of my chin from my face, my upper lip was completely split open to the point that my teeth were visible, my nasal septum bone was split in two and my nose was completely bent to one side — I ended up with 100 stitches in my face and was unable to do vocals for three months. I lost all abilities to move my nose and lips for those months, and to this day I still haven't regained complete control."

Because of this accident she found herself in a strange place mentally, juggling between feeling truly happy and grateful for every second that she was alive and got to spend with the people who she loved, but also feeling completely depressed, because of all of the uncertainty surrounding her injuries. She shares, "The album took form as a journey from the depths of depression into gratitude, but ultimately as an examination of our time and how precious it is."

With Koperweis handling production duties and Mark Lewis (Whitechapel, The Black Dahlia Murder) mixing the record, all of the drums were tracked by Zack Ohren at Castle Ultimate, and Koperweis tracked guitars and vocals. They also recruited former member Evan Brewer to supply the bass. Though committed to their status as a two-piece, the band does have a live lineup with Brian James (ex-Fallujah) and Robert Brown (ex-Slaughter to Prevail) providing guitar, maintaining their reputation for being a killer live band. Having delivered the best record of their career they are also in a very good place mentally, but they do not get ahead of themselves.

The album will be available in the following formats:

Digital / Streaming

CD Jewelcase

Vinyl — Dark Gray & White Marble (US exclusive)

Vinyl — Clear with Gold Metallic & Black Marble (US exclusive)

Vinyl — Red / Gold Melt (A Side B side) (EU exclusive)

Weathers Drop New Single "ALL CAPS" + Announce Upcoming New Album 'Are We Having Fun?' Out On May 5 via Sumerian Records

Los Angeles-based alt-rock trio Weathers have announced their next album 'Are We Having Fun?' set for release on May 5 via Sumerian Records. Alongside this announcement, the band has dropped a new single "ALL CAPS" (co-produced and featuring John O'Callaghan) aka John The Ghost. When asked about the collaborative process for recording "ALL CAPS", Weathers frontman Cameron Boyer shares:

We jumped at the opportunity to work with producer/singer John O’Callaghan (aka John the Ghost). We are big fans and so working together was a trip. After some time soul searching for what this song would sound like, the end result we landed on has a lot of attitude that we didn’t expect to finish with. One of the biggest obstacles was deciding where John would sing. I felt like most projects like this have the featured artist start singing in the second verse. But for me, while it’s a Weathers song, I wanted to throw listeners off and start with John’s voice. He’s got such a unique tone and I thought it would draw listeners in right off the bat and make them go “oh shit?” In a good way.

Weathers describes their upcoming release as the next step for the band creatively.

"With our new album, we wanted to not try so hard. Instead we wanted to dig deep from our past and pull from music we listened to growing up. In the end, we got a body of work that's a little heavier, more raw, and way more emotional and honest than anything we've done in the past."

Sumerian Records' Senior Vice President Mike Jakubow shares the band's enthusiasm for the new album:

“Weathers is on the verge of making major strides in their career. They have written a brand-new record that is deeply introspective, relatable, and exceedingly catchy. The band combines old and new themes and made it entirely their own. The energy in these songs will make a lasting impact on fans”.

Sumerian's Head of A&R and Executive Operations Nick Ocean (Walters) chimed in saying:

"As an A&R in a crowded music space, it is always the greatest pleasure to partner with a group of artists that feels authentic from the beginning. The new album has many colors, both bright and dark. Their music truly pops from the canvas and they deliver something fresh and nostalgic in a unique way. This is just the beginning for Weathers, and we are thrilled to help build upon what they started."

The album's lead single "Where Do I Sign?" has already clocked up over 750,000 streams on Spotify and counting. Listen to "ALL CAPS" here, watch the music video below, and pre-order 'Are We Having Fun?' here.

Weathers fan will have their chance to see the band hit the stage across the United States starting in April in support of Meg Myers. For ticket information, please click here.

Weathers cycle through vibes at the speed of life. Text messages to cheaters, actual conversations about mental health among friends, and a shared passion for eighties and nineties nostalgia (coming-of-age comedies, in particular) turn into fodder for their undeniable and unforgettable alternative anthems. The acclaimed Los Angeles trio—Cameron Boyer [vocals, guitar], Cameron Olsen [guitar] and Brennen Bates [bass]—infuse their third full-length offering, Are We Having Fun? [Sumerian Records], with gleeful unpredictability.

“It’s meant to be unpredictable,” affirms Boyer. “Since there’s a cohesive sound, you’re essentially living in the same universe, but you’re listening to a bunch of different stories. We dug into how relationships and love can fuck with your head as much as anything else can. We welcomed the changes in our lives, because it was time to evolve—which is also when you should do a new record.”

The band initially emerged back in 2015. A year later, they released the breakthrough single Happy Pills, amassing over 164 million Spotify streams and counting. They parlayed this momentum into Kids in the Night (2018) and Pillows & Therapy(2021). The latter boasted fan favorites such as Rehab, Losing Blood, and C’est la vie, which reeled in over 28 million Spotify streams and counting. Meanwhile, Billboard proclaimed, “Their message empowers through the acceptance of something we all consider flaws at some point.” Of Pillows & Therapy, Under The Radar noted, “The band married grungey alt rock and synth-laden pop rock, embracing newly anthemic sounds as well as revisiting their ‘90s influences,” while Beyond The Stage Magazine proclaimed, “Weathers’ Pills & Therapy is the best medicine.”

Throughout 2022, they wrote and recorded what would become Are We Having Fun? with producer Jason Suwito (Sir Sly, Imagine Dragons). They absorbed the ebbs and flows of the Post-Pandemic season in their music as they sonically nodded to classic bands like My Chemical Romance and The Killers.

“We were kids in the two-thousands, so we love over-the-top emotional tunes with a heavier sound,” Boyer goes on. “When we were making the record, we were feeling a bit of rage and sort of doomed. So we asked ourselves, ‘Is this even fun anymore? Or, are we doing this because we’re stuck?’ Since the music encompasses a lot of raw emotion, we decided to be very honest with the title.”

“We want you to walk away feeling like you were heard, and it’s okay to not be okay,” Boyer leaves off. “At the same time, we’re trying to get out of the darkness, because no one wants to be in the dark for too long. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel. When you’re on the floor crying, you’re not the only one.”

“To us, Weathers is a lifestyle and a family,” Brennen concludes. “So, it’s important for the three of us to express ourselves, stick together, and support each other as well as everybody out there who supports us.”
