ABOUT US ANNOUNCE GLOBAL RELEASE OF SELF-TITLED DEBUT ALBUM DUE NOVEMBER 11, 2022 ON FRONTIERS MUSIC SRL

As previously announced, Frontiers Music Srl has signed an exciting new melodic rock band, About Us to the label.

Hailing from Nagaland, India, and more specifically from a district in the state of Nagaland called Wokha (‘Land of Plenty’), About Us will release their Frontiers' debut, a self-titled album, globally on November 11, 2022.

Today, the band has released the single and video, "Gimme Gimme".

Watch the video

About Us first formed in the winter of 2019, with the members having spent the last 15 years or so in different bands and projects before coming together. Their collective musical taste runs the gamut from AOR, hard rock, metal, and more, with all of these varied influences reflected on their debut album.

The band released their first single "Loaded Love" in late December 2020 followed in April 2021 by their first music video, “Gimme Gimme”. The music video reached almost half a million viewers in a short time and was heralded by the editor of a popular daily in their area, Morung Express, who declared "ROCK IS BACK". The song subsequently won two back-to-back awards in the Best Rock category at the MG Nagaland Music Awards (June 23, 2021) and the Music Awards of Nagaland (October 16, 2021).

Wrapping up a busy 2021 for About Us, the band released their self-titled debut album in their home country and a second music video, "Right Now"

The band then came to the attention of Frontiers Music Srl, who loved the band's non-traditional approach to melodic rock and quickly moved to make the band an offer to join their roster.

Subsequently, the band's self-titled debut and the accompanying music video will be re-released on a global basis on November 11, 2022

Sleeping With Sirens Drop New Single + Music Video "Complete Collapse" (via Sumerian Records)

See The Band At When We Were Young Festival

Ticket Info HERE

Pop-punk titans Sleeping With Sirens have today dropped their latest single and music video for "Complete Collapse". The titular track premiered on SiriusXM's Octane and is taken from their highly-anticipated forthcoming album 'Complete Collapse' out in one month on Friday, October 14 (via Sumerian Records). Speaking on today's release, vocalist Kellin Quinn shares:

"'Complete Collapse' is actually a song about how I was feeling mentally before the pandemic and how I could have completely collapsed if it weren’t for the time at home during the pandemic. Having the time to restore and not burn out was a godsend, which is ironic for how terrible the pandemic was. It is also the reason for the title and the picture on the cover of our album. I think says it best we’re all just chilling at the pool drinking our martinis while everything is burning around us."

Prior to today, Sleeping With Sirens dropped the music videos for "Crosses" featuring Underoath's Spencer Chamberlain, "Let You Down" featuring Charlotte Sands and a visualizer for  "Ctrl + Alt + Del" which altogether have clocked up a staggering nearly 2.3 million views on YouTube and 2.9 million streams on Spotify alone. ABOUT VV / Ville Valo:

In the annals of 21st-century alternative rock history, there are few artists who cast a longer or more peculiar shadow than Finnish Love Metal pioneer Ville Valo. After all, his band HIM were easily among the most iconic and idiosyncratic groups of the millenium. Zealously revered, gleefully reviled but impossible to ignore, their music left an indelible mark on a worldwide legion of fans. The scarlet letters stood for His Infernal Majesty. Their founder stood for something delightedly out of step with the status quo.

"We only hoped to temporarily redirect hard rock's blood flow from the nether regions towards the heart", reminisces Ville Valo, the singer, songwriter and primus motor of HIM. Judging by the monolithic presence of the Heartagram in any account of music this side of the millennium it’s apparent that he succeeded.

Inspired by everyone from Poe to Bukowski and tinged by a penchant for perfumed Sabbathian gloom, Valo’s creative lovechild would produce eight era-defining studio releases and over ten million record sales, not forgetting a Grammy nomination, countless magazine covers, critical acclaim, and the veneration of a generation. Thus it came as no surprise that the news of a farewell tour in 2017 was greeted with shock and disbelief among devotees and endless speculation as to what or who was to take up the velvet mantle.

“As fun as the funeral rites for HIM were, it took me more than a few moons to lick my wounds in the shadow of the Heartagram and come up with an excuse to strum and hum again. Eventually I decided to put a leash on my beloved black dog and we started howling together instead of barking at each other. That's how VV was born".

WELCOME TO LINDEVILLE

Produced by John Osborne, Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville includes
performances from McBryde, Brothers Osborne, Brandy Clark, Aaron Raitiere,
Pillbox Patti, Caylee Hammack and Benjy Davis

“This country singer-songwriter wields her intricate, intimate storytelling like a conductor… It’s a fluorescent carnival of pedal steel and thumping guitar that proves McBryde can be a skilled curator, as well as a performer.”
The New York Times

Cover art for Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville (Warner Music Nashville)

Ashley McBryde set out with a group of her favorite collaborators to work up a project they had no intention of ever recording or releasing. What came from that weeklong songwriting exercise in a rural cabin outside Nashville is Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville, a distilled version of everything that listeners have come to appreciate from McBryde: raw, honest, specific portraits of small-town America, and the many characters that you may encounter in any one of them. The project tips its hat to the writing methods of legendary Nashville songwriter Dennis Linde (“Goodbye Earl,” “Burning Love,” “Bubba Shot the Jukebox”). Set for release in full on Friday, Sept. 30 via Warner Music Nashville, pre-order for Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville is available now.

“A few years ago, Aaron Raitiere, Nicolette Hayford and I were on a write,” shares McBryde. “We wrote this song called ‘Blackout Betty,’ and I realized we had written previous songs called ‘Shut Up Sheila’ on Never Will and ‘Livin’ Next to Leroy’ on Girl Going Nowhere. Aaron had a song called ‘Jesus, Jenny,’ and I thought, ‘We should keep these characters together and give them a place to live!’

“Not long after that, I thought, ‘What if we call it Lindeville?’ in honor of Dennis Linde,” the Arkansas-native continues. “I want to lock six writers in a house and just spend six- or seven-days writing. We stayed in Tennessee in this little house close to a lake. It was eight bottles of tequila, two cartons of cigarettes, one kitchen table and six individuals out of their minds.”

Those six individuals included McBryde, Raitiere, Hayford, Connie Harrington, Brandy Clark and Benjy Davis, each drawing from their own upbringings to give Lindeville an every-town realism blended with familiar characters, moral ambiguity and a healthy enough dose of gallows humor to make this town feel like your town.

Produced by John Osborne, Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville features performances from McBryde, Brothers Osborne, Clark, Raitiere, Pillbox Patti (Hayford), Caylee Hammack and Davis, forming a cast of characters that appear across the 13-track collection.

“This is technically the first full-length album that I’ve produced by myself. One of the things I tried to do was capture each character as a performance,” elaborates Osborne. “I listened to each song, and I wrestled with it for a while. Do I want to make the songs sound the same? Make it sound like it’s all done in one room on one day?

“And then I thought to myself, ‘Each song has to represent not only a different character, but a different emotion and a different story.’ There is certainly continuity between the tracks – we have vocalists and mostly the same musicians on every song. But I decided to take different approaches to each song because it needed to represent the story,” Osborne concludes.

“I just hope that when a few, even just a handful, of people listen to the record and it ends with the line ‘Nothing but stars over Lindeville,’ they put their hands over their heart and say, ‘What a nice trip that was,’” offers McBryde.

“And for the whole running time of the record, nothing else had to matter. You got to focus on other people’s drama and other people’s problems and got the reminder that everything’s all right.”

McBryde is offering Trybe Fan Club members an exclusive opportunity to pre-order limited-edition purple vinyl, shipping domestically in late October. Trybe members can pre-order their vinyl now.

About Ashley McBryde
CMA and ACM award winner Ashley McBryde cut her teeth playing country songs in rural biker bars – and it shows. Her 2018 major label debut Girl Going Nowhere (Warner Music Nashville) charmed the New York Times, NPR, Rolling Stone, Paste, The Washington Post and more, all en route to landing a GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album. McBryde closed out 2019 with ACM New Female Artist, CMT Breakout Artist of the Year, a New Artist of the Year win at the 53rd Annual CMA Awards and two nominations for the 2020 GRAMMYs for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance for “Girl Goin’ Nowhere.” Her follow-up Never Will was tagged by Rolling Stone as one of the most anticipated of the year alongside NPR, who also ranked her Top 10 RIAA Platinum-Certified single “One Night Standards” as one of the best songs of 2019. Produced once again by Jay Joyce, Never Will reveals the witty, confessional, detail-driven songwriting addressing a wide spectrum of blue-collar Southern women’s experience introduced on Girl Going Nowhere is still here, but perhaps even sharper. The album earned McBryde a 2021 GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album, making Never Will the only album nominated for Country Album of the Year by the ACMs, CMAs and the Recording Academy in the same award season. Her critically acclaimed duet with Carly Pearce, “Never Wanted To Be That Girl,” went all the way to No. 1 and earned McBryde and Pearce the ACM award for Musical Event of the Year. McBryde also earned five total 2022 CMA nominations, including her third consecutive nod for Female Vocalist of the Year along with Single of the Year, Song of the Year, Musical Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year for her duet with Pearce ahead of the November awards ceremony. On September 30, the Arkansas-native invites listeners to Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville, a collaborative new project that features Brothers Osborne, Brandy Clark, Pillbox Patti, Caylee Hammack, Aaron Raitiere and more. 'King of the North' continues right where their last two releases – 'Wolves of Karelia'(2020) and the 'Skull Soldiers' EP (2021) – left off, taking every aspect of their trademark blend of colossal melodies, earth-shaking vocals, gripping lyricism and driving rhythms to searing new levels. The new album manifests WOLFHEART at the top of their genre - millions of streams on Spotify alone prove that they are here to stay!

Cold Flame showcases WOLFHEART’s trademark melodic death metal sound at artistic levels never heard before, featuring none other than icon Karl Sanders of legendary extreme metal group NILE!

WOLFHEART’s Tuomas Saukkonen about Cold Flame:

“"Cold Flame’" is deep diving trip into the mythology behind the northern lights. The mystic phenomenon that has been enchanting people in the nordic realm for ages. Cold and grandiose are words to describe both the stories behind the lyrics and the music itself. Monstrous growls from Karl Sanders were a cherry on top of a cake to rise the song into a new level."

Watch the music video for Cold Flame

Discover distant realms of northern mythology with melodic death triumph 'King of the North'!

Each song on 'King of the North' is dedicated to a different story of Finnish mythology – underlined by WOLFHEART’s grand, crushing songwriting and production. The King, for instance, tells the tale of the forest god with horns and pianos accompanying heavy guitar riffs and solos, before raising the energy levels once more on the relentless Cold Flamefeaturing Karl Sanders. Ancestor is the album’s most frostbitten anthem, unleashing WOLFHEART’s acclaimed brand of crushing blast beasts and cutting-edge vocal performances alongside guest Jesse Leach of Killswitch Engage.

'King of the North' is a true masterpiece of melodic death metal, crafted with loads of attention to detail and intricate mythology-driven storytelling – showcasing WOLFHEART at never-before-heard artistic levels!

WOLFHEART’s guitarist/vocalist Tuomas Saukkonen about 'King of the North':

"After 'Wolves of Karelia', it made a lot of sense to continue writing thematic albums, but this time I wanted to travel a lot further in history than the Second World War and went straight to tales about creation of the Nordic world, ancient gods of the north and majestic nature. The colorful theme also inspired me to write the musically most diverse WOLFHEART album and also bring the biggest variation of vocals than ever before, putting Lauri and Vageliss in their well-earned spotlight."

Kingsmen Release New Track "Dead Letter" And Announce Upcoming New Album 'Bones Don't Lie' Out November 11 via Sharptone Records

Kingsmen fans, rejoice! The Providence, RI quintet has today unleashed their new single and music video for "Dead Letter". In addition to that, the band has also announced their forthcoming new album 'Bones Don't Lie' set for release on Friday, November 11 (via Sharptone Records). 'Bones Don't Lie' is the band's follow-up to their 2020 debut album 'Revenge. Forgiveness. Recovery'. Speaking on today's drop and upcoming album, the band shares:

"‘Dead Letter’ is a term that refers to a message that was never received. Sometimes we hear the answers from others but never know how to stomach the truth of it all. This song and video represents how lost we can feel when searching for the clues to questions we need answered. Sometimes we have to discover things alone. We must walk through the fire… or journey through the harsh cold reality we live in; to finally figure out what others are trying to tell us.

'Bones Don’t Lie' is about identity and self-discovery. The album depicts the thoughts of someone who has been wronged, done wrong, and wants to do better. People often try and bury their past in order to pursue a better future. The old adage, “what skeletons are in your closet?”, helped us coin the term ‘Bones Don’t Lie’. It’s our belief that you need to own up to what you’ve done and the ways that you have been, to show who you really are and where you come from because this is the greatest measure of character.

Prior to today, Kingsmen have previously released the music videos for "Trial By Fire" and "Bitter Half". Watch the music video for "Dead Letter" below, and pre-save 'Bones Don't Lie' here.

ABOUT KINGSMEN

Setting their sights on achieving what they’ve dubbed a “big metal sound that fills up your whole brain when listening to it between the headphones,” Providence, RI five-piece Kingsmen are back, ushering in the dawning of a new era for the band.

Returning with new influences, locations, producers, and creative process compared to their 2020 debut, 'Revenge. Forgiveness. Recovery', things were naturally bound to change. The point of a successful evolution is becoming the best version of oneself. And to do so, remaining true to one’s core elements is a vital factor. As a result, the band didn’t aim for a trend, they made a point to return to their roots. Reflecting on his classical training, frontman, Tanner Guimond even found himself rediscovering a singing voice he felt he had left in the past long ago but was destined to revisit.

Choosing to return to their roots, the band embrace the fighting spirit at the core of Kingsmen, connecting with listeners through universal themes and lyrical stories ranging from championing positivity to coming together in the face of adversity. Shining light and hope into all they do is something the band has no intention of changing. As Guimond eloquently puts it:

“To be a kingsman is to be someone that has the courage to endure the worst, but still reflect the best parts of humanity. So, with all of our songs, that’s what we try and showcase. There’s no way that anyone will go through life without experiencing some terrible things. But to grow from that… to become a better person after the fact is, we believe, one of the true purposes of life. Maybe someday we’ll do something wild like a concept album with ogres and elves. But we really believe that when you’re conveying your emotions through music, it comes across when you’re being honest. So as often as we can, and as many different ways possible, there’s no doubt that you’ll see a lot more of that kind of attitude through our music in the future.”

Kingsmen Are:

Tanner Guimond - Vocals

Tim Lucier - Guitar

Nick Gilbert - Guitar

Adam Bakelman - Bass

Mike Perrotta - Drums

Black Market Karma presents 'In My Child Mind (E to A)', second taster of ambitious new album

"Emotive, tender and nostalgic...It's an intriguing and evocative release that effortlessly demonstrates Stan Belton's spectacular composing skills" ~ Clash Magazine

"Impressive and singular, yet filled with easy and accessible appeal... making music without following fad or fashion or the need to satisfy public expectation" ~ The Record Stache

"With musical influences including numerous genres, their psychedelic vision goes well beyond the influential underpinnings of 60s rock, presenting a kaleidoscopic array of sonic threads woven together into the fabulous tapestry" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

UK-based psychedelic rockers Black Market Karma present their new single 'In My Child Mind (E to A)'. This is the second taste of their new album ‘Aped Flair & Hijacked Ideas'. The album will be released in late September via London boutique label Flower Power Records.

This groovy laid-back single is accompanied by a video shot throughout the magical realm of Japan, wandering all around Tokyo full of child wonder and joy. Filmed by film director Louisa Pili in November 2017, this video was edited by BMK mastermind Stanley Belton, following him as he blissfully trips throughout Shibuya, Shinjuku, Harajuku, Meiji Jingu, Ueno Park, HARRY Hedgehog Cafe, Akihabara, Asakusa, Kazunoya Oiwake and Red Shoes.

Hailing from London and now residing on the South coast of England, the band are back with a colourful carousel of jingle jangle and distorted wobble, following up the 2021 long-player 'The Technicolour Liquid Audio Machine', a lo-fi instrumental, nostalgic, beat driven opus concocted during the 2020 lockdown.

Not long ago, the band released the lead track 'Dead Trajectory' with accompanying video featuring live footage filmed by Jenn Cliff-Wilcock in October 2021 during Black Market Karma's UK tour. For additional feel-good factor, Act Cool Records also released a live session with Stanley Belton.

Their tenth album 'Aped Flair & Hijacked Ideas' is a loaded 11-track offering with a fluid texture of beach-soaked instrumentation. Themes range from observations of the sycophantic circles that leach from the arts, desperately trying to stay spiritually close to a geographically distant love, Japanese folklore and the deep connection between man and beast.

“I like to think of the sound of this record as Aquatica. It's like a psychedelic carousel of syrupy melody and liquid audio. Fat, baggy, saturated bass and drums, shimmering jangly guitars, wobbling fuzz, drunken keyboards and telephonic vocals. Imagine something along the lines of The Velvet Underground and The Troggs making tunes together but underwater, performing on marine life instead of instruments and routing the whole thing through a UFO," says Stanley Belton.

"The album's title is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the idea that nothing is truly original. Influence is an infinite web connecting all art and I think that's a beautiful thing that should be embraced. I often see people getting too hung up on the pursuit of some kind of idea of total originality that doesn't exist. It's all in the blend.”

With broader flavours of psychedelia, fuzzed out tones and thumping grooves, Black Market Karma's thick and colourful sound is shaped by the use of a lot of vintage equipment. Rooted in 60's guitar and pop music, other influences range from folk and blues through to lo-fi electronica, traditional Indian music, shoegaze, hip hop, soul and Motown.

To date, the band has released nine albums, eight of which were released between 2012 and 2016 and entirely written, performed, recorded and produced by multi-instrumentalist Stanley Belton while living in London at the band's own 'Cocoon' studio. On the new album, Stan has broken trend of doing everything himself by co-writing and performing two tracks on the album ('Kong' and 'A Crying Shame') together with his brother Finley Belton.

More recently, Stan has been working on collaborations with Pete Kember (a.k.a. Sonic Boom) of Spacemen 3, Joakim Ahlund of Cesars & Les Big Byrd, Tess Parks and The Underground Youth.

As of September 14, 'In My Child Mind (E to A)' will be available everywhere digitally, including Apple Music and Spotify. The 'Aped Flair & Hijacked Ideas' LP will be released on September 29. A double album featuring 180-gram coloured vinyl with a gatefold sleeve, it can be pre-ordered on vinyl at https://bit.ly/3QNCBjE and as a digital download via Bandcamp.

Weeping Wound Unleash New Single + Music Video "fromm.here on" Taken From Forthcoming EP 'idontbelonghere.'

Atmospheric metalcore trio Weeping Wound have released their latest single and music video "fromm.here on". The track is off the band's forthcoming EP 'idontbelonghere.' set for release this Friday, September 16 (via Blood Blast Distribution). Speaking on today's drop, the band shares:

"fromm.here on’ is the final visual installment for Weeping Wound’s upcoming EP ‘idontbelonghere.’, - our pride and joy. The intention is to portray the mother/lover signifier as the same through the grand feminine - woman as God. Seeing ‘her’ as everything all at once, encompassing all joy and pain and everything in between, that the purpose of life is to Feel. Hugely influenced by the Dionysian/Early Christ concept of the female shaman mixing entheogenic wines for seekers, the visual for "fromm.here on" completes our protagonist's efforts through these such journeys where he can now truly See. ‘idontbelonghere.’ arrives on 9.16.22, and it’s hoped upon experiencing the record in full, it allows the listener to See as well."

Prior to today, Weeping Wound released the haunting music video for their track "fourthh.love". Watch the music video for "fromm.here on" below, and pre-order 'idontbelonghere.' at the link here

Weeping Wound are an atmospheric nu-metalcore outfit whose purpose is to tell their personal stories of occult & esoteric spirituality, mental illness, and substance abuse through sonically intense, genre-bending music.

After touring relentlessly since conception, releasing an EP in 2017, a single the following year, and their debut Billboard charting full-length "P A I N" in late 2019, they are now collectively entering a new chapter as artists and people; more honest and true to themselves than ever before - feeling like they’ve found their own voice.

Their upcoming EP of six tracks, 'idontbelonghere.', is a truly collaborative, cohesive effort between the family the band has become, along with their trusted mixing engineer, George Lever.

With Loren Whitaker’s dynamic sound design and agile drumming, Dylan Torre’s powerful voice and word placement, and Patrick Dowling’s innate sense of structure and barebones heavy riffing, 'idontbelonghere.' is a fresh and bold take on a style of music that as of now has deep roots around the globe.

Finnish Fuzzrock Outfit Craneium Launch Single & Music Video for, ”Victim of Delusion”

STREAM "Victim of Delusion" HERE

Heavy fuzzrock outfit Craneium shares the stand alone single, "Victim of Delusion”.

The single is the first release from the Finnish four piece since their third studio album 'Unknown Heights' from 2021 and is released together with a music video on The Sign Records.

Joel from Craneium comments:

"Our new single "Victim of Delusion" is a straightforward rocker in true retro style. It’s fuzzy and it’s bluesy. Dare we even say it’s a bit proto metalesque? Lyrically the song talks about how nothing good comes out of trying to control people. Instead, it’s easy to end up a delusional lonely person.

To accompany the song, we wanted to make a video that tips the hat to retro psychedelic filmmaking. We teamed up with music video maker Joni Tuominen who had an idea on a video with acid fried aesthetics. It turned out great and we had a blast doing it."

Craneium’s latest studio album 'Unknown Heights' was released during the autumn of 2021.

The album is available on white/blue splatter vinyl, black vinyl, CD, and all streaming platforms.

Since then, they have sweated themselves through almost 100 shows around the Nordic countries and Europe, most of them booked by the band themselves. Featuring New, Never Heard

Reimaginations of Album Favorites

"False Walls" and "Apex" | Pre-Order HERE

Listen to "False Walls" Transformed

as "Falsewave" HERE

Fresh off of the release of their JUNO Award-winning 2020 full-length album 'Abyss', Canadian modern power metal frontrunners UNLEASH THE ARCHERS revisit its stunning predecessor, 2017’s seminal 'Apex'. In celebration of the album’s five-year anniversary, 'Apex' will be available as a limited reissue 2-CD Earbook edition, as well as in Deluxe Digital formats, on November 18 via Napalm Records! Pre-orders for the special edition of 'Apex' are available now.

Both the 2-CD Earbook and Deluxe Digital versions will include the full original Apexalbum, plus two new bonus tracks - Falsewaveand Acoustipex - genius reimaginings of original album tracks False Walls and Apex, respectively, as well as a newly mastered instrumental version of the original album. The bonus tracks will also come on a limited edition single-style 10” vinyl EP available as part of the Earbook edition.

The synthwave reimagining Falsewavetranslates perfectly with the original track’s super moody, midtempo vibes, while Acoustipex haunts with gothic folk/country-western cinematic flavor, breathing new life into the 'Apex' title track. Hop in your DeLorean and jam to the electric grooves of Falsewave” now, also listenable via a brand-new lyric video!

UNLEASH THE ARCHERS frontwoman Brittney Slayes says:

"Hard to believe it's been five years since we released 'Apex'! That record was really the beginning of a new era for us, so we are so excited to finally give it the deluxe treatment it deserves! The new bonus tracks were a lot of fun to create, as they've allowed us to show some of our other musical influences more prominently. The earbook is definitely the part I am most excited about though, being that the earbook for 'Abyss' was really a sequel to the story from 'Apex'. Now our listeners can read the full 'Immortal Saga' chapter by chapter and discover some new details that were too difficult to convey through the music. And, we can't forget about the instrumental edition! We've had fans asking for it for a long time and we can't wait to hear the vocal covers and new renditions they come up with! We are just so excited for everyone to get their hands on this new edition - it's such a great way to celebrate the fifth anniversary of this album that will always remain so special to us!"

THEODOR BASTARD Covers QUEEN Song, "The Show Must Go On"

Russian Karelian Neofolk collective THEODOR BASTARD is now releasing an emotional cover version of QUEEN's 1991 hit, "The Show Must Go On." The inventive version of the song can be found along with a stunning music video below.

THEODOR BASTARD previously announced the re-issue of their 2015 masterpiece 'Vetvi', which was originally released on April 29, 2015. The album was re-released via Season of Mist in 2021 and is still available HERE.

The multi-layered and unpredictable 2015 album 'Vetvi' from THEODOR BASTARD, inherits the band's recognizable multi-genre approach where psychedelic trip hop, combined with cinematic instrumentals and archaic world music, meets modern technological electronics. THEODOR BASTARD combine Russian texts with glossolalia and shamanic spells as easily as they change instruments on stage.

THEODOR BASTARD is one of Russia's most unusual bands representing the electronic Karelian neofolk genre. Also elements of dark wave and trip hop are present in the band's music. The message doesn't carry out everyday problems and is mainly focused on mythology and shamanism. The hallmarks of the band are the unique and bewitching lead vocals of multi-talent Yana Veva and the impeccable sound producing skills of Fedor Svolotch, founder of the band who created the band 20 years ago.

From album to album, THEODOR BASTARD carefully and masterly combine many different exotic and traditional instruments. The special northern atmosphere of their albums is created with Nordic nyckelharpa and jouhikko, primeval flutes created from tree roots and shamanic percussion.

"We live in the north of Russia in Karelia, which has a difficult fate" states band leader Fedor Svolotch. He continues: "This is a harsh northern region with unpredictable nature, with spruce and pine forests. Bears are found here. Moose and hare come straight to my house. In Karelia there are beautiful cliffs and clear lakes with fresh water. These are our personal places of power, the places where stones and winds are talking to us. Singing for us a songs of the northern harsh nature".

THEODOR BASTARD's music is set out to take listeners to unexplored and other worlds. From the cold and twilight realms of the marshy swamps of taiga and mossy tundra, to unexplored places where the earthly plane and the spiritual world are separated only by a thin ghostly veil. THEODOR BASTARD consists of 6 musicians, turning their performances into a dark magic act that sends the audience back to Northern musical traditions, to the Karelian and the Russian folk. The musicians use a variety of electronic devices and ethnic instruments, but also their own hand-made instruments from stones, human bone and the roots of Karelian birch.

For over twenty years THEODOR BASTARD have been known for their amazing serious attitude to the world beyond that very frontier. The band's 2015 re-issue of 'Vetvi' is set out to take listeners to unexplored and other worlds!

JESTERS OF DESTINY Announce New Album 'Distorting Everything' - Release Video for New Single "Your Lord Good God"

Jesters of Destiny have announced the details of their upcoming new studio album! The Los Angeles heavy metal outfit will release the follow-up to their 2017 comeback LP (The Sorrows That Refuse to Drown), titled Distorting Everything, on October 25th, 2022. To celebrate the announcement of their fourth full-length, the band has dropped a music video for their new single "Your Lord Good God," directed by Kent Holmes, which can be seen below.

Frontman Bruce Duff (vocals, bass) comments on the new video, saying, “The call came to put a single out to announce the LP. We had a video ready to come out with the LP release, but nothing was prepared for an advance single. We ended up choosing 'Your Lord Good God', which occupies the sacred Side Two Track One position, but we felt it was too long for the modern-day single attention span. Ray did an edit and then came up with a concept to knock out a one-shot cinema-style video, literally just one continual take. Kent Holmes, who also did the upcoming vid for “Luxifur,” crafted, lit, and directed it, and I was the guinea pig. Somehow it seems to work. Try staring at yourself for three-plus minutes – it’s a tough one.”

About Jesters of Destiny:

The long and grinding road of Jesters of Destiny can be a difficult trail to follow, but we’ll break it down for you. And in true Jesters’ fashion, let’s do it backwards.

Since their not-so-humble beginning in a recording project from which the earliest Jesters music festered, way back on Halloween 1984, Jesters of Destiny have been helmed by bassist/vocalist Bruce Duff and guitarist Ray Violet. Their latest, Distorting Everything, gestated over a five-year period. Upon the release of their previous crowd-pleaser, The Sorrows That Refuse to Drown, Violet suggested they get right to work on another album. After Duff regained consciousness, he suggested they check with their label, the mighty Ektro Records in Finland, to see if they would even want such a thing. When label-head Jussi Lehtisalo confirmed his enthusiasm, the record was underway as the pair began putting songs together from existing demos and riffs and forging new ones from scratch. Work was done remotely as Duff is in Los Angeles and Violet was in Syracuse, NY (he’s now an island guy living in the Caribbean).

By 2019, there was sufficient material to enter Kitten Robot studio with long-time conspirator Paul Roessler (who played on Jesters’ second record, 1987’s In a Nostalgic Mood). They tracked at KR with drummer Jason Levi, and then continued overdubbing, mixing, and writing. The record came together slowly but had a mission statement. In the early days, press labeled the Jesters as ‘alternative metal,’ whatever that means, which probably had a lot to do with many of the sidesteps JOD LPs would take—instrumental interludes, covers, acoustic music, pop songs. This new record was going to bypass all of that. Their latest, Distorting Everything, is the Jesters distilled to their brand of hard rock/metal with no detours. Classify it as you need.

The first track heard from the LP was “Heavy, Kicking A,” released at the pre-pandemic dawn of 2020 in time for the US presidential election. Not a political band by any stretch, this Jesters song is sung from the perspective of the “1 percent” at the top of the financial, corporate empire as they manipulate the strings that control the remaining 99.

Following that fateful 1984 session when Duff and Violet figured they might have something new to offer in the form of “Diggin’ That Grave” and “End of Time,” they set out to form a working band and get their material out to the world. Enter Metal Blade Records, who put “End of Time” as the closer on Metal Massacre V, a record hinting at alt-metal and beyond with the likes of Voivod, Hellhammer (soon to morph into Celtic Frost), Omen, and Fates Warning. 'Fun at the Funeral', Jesters' first LP from ’86, was released on Dimension Records, a Metal Blade subsidiary made for bands that didn’t fit the usual Metal Blade preconceptions. SPIN commented, “Perfectly executed punkadelic glam-bop with a healthy dose of metallic insolence. Working within this context, the Jesters thumb their noses at insanity, aphrodisiacs, Pollyanna grooviness, and the occasional suicide.” And, from the ever-influential Kerrang, “Delightfully different…(a) mysterious mixture of musical influences from a number of bands you just can’t think of. Weird, but strangely appealing. 4Ks for…I don’t quite know what.”

In 2001, Ektro Records contacted the Jesters, looking to reissue 'Fun at the Funeral' on CD. Since then, the alliance between the band and label has been steady. Ektro vinyl label Full Contact reissued Fun in 2014, and in 2017 released the don’t-call-it-a-comeback record 'The Sorrows That Refuse to Drown', a full return to form by Duff, Violet, and friends - including Roessler (Screamers/45 Grave), Tim Harrington (Masters of Reality), Sickie Wifebeater (Mentor and Fun-era Jester), and drummers Jason Lee and Frank Hanyak. Said New Noise upon its release, “The band is as contemporary and bustling as ever, mingling perpetual open taste, humor, proto-heavy metal, and distinguished psychedelic groove. This is a group that is fearless and smooth in its freedom of distribution. Meaning, you’re going to get a real sound— nothing hijacked, compromised, or normal.”

Which brings us back to the beginning and hence the present. Crank up 'Distorting Everything', and remember, a little distortion never hurt anyone.

Minneapolis powerpop/ indie rock artist The Persian Leaps presents 'Alright Alright', previewing 'Machines For Living' EP

"Silky fuzz and solid hooks echo The Smiths, Orange Juice and Teenage Fanclub with great enthusiasm... celestial guitar jangle" NME Magazine

"A little bit of R.E.M., a little bit Lemonheads. A dash of The Smiths, a hint of The Replacements... all-reaching, down to earth, good American indie rock" ~ Spill Magazine

"Unpretentious and infectious... vast riffs, euphonious vocals and pop sensibility. captivatingly pleasurable blustery indie rock"Louder Than War

"Truncated treatises in big-guitar post-punk power-pop" The Big Takeover

"Huge riffs echoing through your speakers, melodious vocals and the sort of pop sensibility we’ve come to expect from bands like Nada Surf"Austin Town Hall

Midwestern power pop / indie rock outfit The Persian Leaps presents the single 'Alright Alright', the second taster of their new 'Machines for Living' EP, to be released on October 7 via Land Ski Records.

Based in Minneapolis, The Persian Leaps surrounds principal songwriter, vocalist and guitarist Drew Forsberg, who came up with the band's name in college while daydreaming through his Greek Archaeology class. Writing solo under that name for years, he finally assembled a band in 2012.

Forsberg explains "This song is about people who thrive on conflict. They’ve always existed, but it’s so much worse in the digital age when people can post inflammatory statements with total anonymity–or at least not say things directly to someone’s face. This song is for people who hang out online in the Comments section."

Following the powerful lead track 'Maybe Time Will Let Me Forget', which was written and performed by Jon Asher (Drew's uncle) and folk/rock superstar Dan Fogelberg under the name The Coachmen. a local opener for bands like The Who and The Hollies, whose only recorded output was a 45 released on Ledger Records in 1967 with this track as the A-side.

The latest in a fruitful string of releases, The Persian Leaps released their widely acclaimed 'Drone Etiquette' album in late 2021. Here again, they dish out a fine new collection of 90s college rock-inspired compositions, their distinct sound built on a magnetic alternative rock foundation.

From their 2013 debut 'Praise Elephants' EP, which NME Magazine described as “celestial guitar jangle”, the Leaps released an EP every autumn until 2017. From their acclaimed sophomore 'Drive Drive Delay' EP in 2014 to their fifth 'Bicycle Face' EP, they have delivered one perfect power pop cocktail after another. Their massive 2018 'Pop That Goes Crunch' anthology was followed by a return as a studio project, releasing the 'Electrical Living' LP in 2019 and the 'Smiling Lessons' EP in 2020 together with Jon Hunt.

As of September 13, 'Alright Alright' will be available on Bandcamp, and will also be offered as an instant gratification track when ordering the full 'Machines For Living' EP. As of October 7, this EP will be released across online platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp.

UK indie rock stalwarts VERNONS FUTURE preview 'Call To Arms' from forthcoming'Aquaplaning' LP (

"A perfect collision of pop and rock, the band conveys beguiling charm, groove and melody, along with accessible sonics... a rock anthem that will get your blood flowing and delight your ear buds" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

aquaplane /ˈakwəpleɪn / verb / gerund or present participle: aquaplaning / (of a vehicle) slide uncontrollably on a wet surface.

UK indie rock veterans Vernons Future will be releasing their new album 'Aquaplaning' in early October, using the lead-time wisely by previewing lead track 'Call To Arms'. Perhaps their most overtly (small ‘p’) political song, it's also a plea to save the planet.

"It’s a challenge to all of us to open our eyes to the climate emergency, to join together to drive meaningful change to save the planet," says frontman Simon Burchill.

Formed in Liverpool in the 1980s and originally known as The Vernons, the band toured the UK and also released the album 'Smithdown Road’ in 1990 via the Probe Plus label, touted by Melody Maker as “a fine debut...in love with pop at its most unassuming and most charming”.

In 2015, the band reincarnated as Vernons Future with original members Simon Burchill, Andy Harding, Jon Fiber and Tom Le Bas, joined by Simon’s school friend Simon ‘Hoops’ Hooper.

Effectively their second album, 'Aquaplaning’ is essentially a compilation of the band’s singles from late 2019 onward, plus two new songs. Now split between Oxford and London, the band's music puts a distinctive twist on the poppier end of the indie spectrum.

As part of their ongoing quest to write the perfect 3-minute indie pop song, Vernons Future uses their classic vox/ guitar/ keys/ bass/ drums setup to hone accessible earworm indie tunes with a particular sense of humour and good hooks.

“When we started playing together again in 2015, we weren't sure if we would get to play gigs or release any music, so the last seven years have been a majorly fun surprise! We absolutely love playing live, and are lucky enough to be playing more gigs now. It's quite amazing to be able to release our songs too. When we first played together back in the 80's, streaming (and the internet!) wasn't a thing. Our first album came out on vinyl and cassette, but was too early for CDs. So we’re buzzing to release our new album on CD," says Andy Harding.

As of September 14, 'Call To Arms' is available via Bandcamp, where the full 'Aquaplaning' LP can already be pre-ordered on CD or as a digital download. The full 'Aquaplaning' album will be released on October 7. The band will also be playing a handful of concerts in September and October to celebrate the album's release.
