Finnish occult murder pop inventors CVLT OV THE SVN have inked a worldwide record deal with Napalm Records.

While rock music seems to have lost its danger and mystique in a lot of ways, CVLT OV THE SVN are the force that embodies just that. Eeriness, danger and angst with a pinch of romanticism and seduction and a load of morbid horror theatrics - all wrapped in a melancholic and catchy, yet very rock, and at times even heavy, sound, drawing its influences from all sorts of artists and genres.

Commented the mysterious creative visionary behind the band: “For me the inspiration is darkness itself, as I am able to understand it. When I write songs, I want to push people’s boundaries, so I want to come up with ideas that make you go, ‘What the f**k?!'. Napalm Records is obviously one of the legends. It is an honor to be part of the lineage, part of this family”.

The band is currently working on their first full-length album - more to be announced soon.

Saint Asonia, featuring former Three Days Grace frontman Adam Gontier and Staind guitarist/founding member Mike Mushok, have shared the video for "Ghost."

The video is a collaboration between the band and its fans, featuring clips and art submitted by fans from around the world.

"We invited our fans to show us what the song means to them and we wanted to work with them to create the visual to go along with it," Gontier says about the video's creation, which was new territory for him. "I've actually never done something like this in the past. It's been a great process, and the video turned out awesome."

As for the song itself, Gontier continues, "It's about losing someone in your life — whether it be to death, drugs, sickness. It's about trying to put the pieces back together after going through something unbearable. Sonically, it's got a different feel. It's not just a straightforward song written around a specific riff. It's probably one of my favorite songs we've ever written as a band."

"Ghost" appears on Saint Asonia's sophomore effort Flawed Design, out now via Spinefarm Records. The single "The Hunted," featuring Godsmack's Sully Erna, was a Top 5 radio smash.

The Bronx Casket Co. was founded by Overkill bassist and main songwriter DD Verni and released the self-titled “Bronx Caset Co.” on Massacre Records in 1999. It was followed up by “Sweet Home Transylvania” in 2001, “Hellectric” in 2005 and “Antihero” in 2011. The band is rounded out by guitarist Jack Frost (Savatage, Seven Witches, Lizzy Borden), keyboardist Charlie Calv (Angel, Shotgun Symphony), drummer Tim Mallare (Overkill, M.O.D.) on the first 3 releases and Rob Pallota (25 ta Life) on the later, and originally fronted by Myke Hideous (The Misfits, Empire Hideous) on the first 3 albums with DD taking over vocals full time on Antihero.

This release is completely re-mastered by Alan Douches (The Misfits, Mastodon, etc…) and includes a bonus disc of early demos, unreleased remixes, a cover of The Misfits classic “Ghouls Night Out”, and a brand newly recorded mash up of the classic Black Sabbath tracks “The Writ/Megalomania” entitled “Sabatage-d”.

DD continues, “I'm so psyched to have the whole catalog in one spot. The four records were all so completely different yet part of the same idea, so seeing it all together is very cool. A bonus disc with demos and extra tracks, as well as all kinds of collectibles makes it something really unique. It was fun to get back with the guys to bang out the Black Sabbath Sabatage-d song too, felt almost like we never took a break. I get asked all the time if there will ever be another full length album....hey ya never know. “

Scottish folk-inspired black metal outfit SAOR has announced a remixed and remastered version of their third full-length, 'Guardians.' This new edition also contains the previously unreleased demo recording of "Dawn of Heroes" and will be released on vinyl and CD via Season of Mist. The release date is set for January 15, 2021. Mainman Andy Marshall comments: "I'm very excited to share the remixed and remastered version of 'Guardians.' The production on the original album was quite rushed, so I'm happy we had more time to work on it and improve the overall sound."

Since its formation in 2013, Saor has continually evolved while remaining boldly faithful to its Scottish heritage. Forged by the vision of the band’s founder Andy Marshall, Saor (meaning “Free” in Scottish Gaelic) has a uniquely expressive approach that dives deep into lyrical themes based on literature, landscapes, history, sorrow, nature, and the majestic mountains of his homeland.

Expertly transitioning between atmospheric Black Metal, Celtic Folk, and traditional Scottish sounds – the wildly exploratory music of Saor knows no limitations and seeks out every opportunity to expand on its potential.

Today, the band releases a delight for every fan of aggressive 80s metal as well as any horror aficionado out there. The music video for their third single, "Holocene's End", is another monument of classic B-Movie extravaganza: drenched in occultism, dirt and a lot of gore. A masterpiece on its own.

Proving that they aren’t afraid to change the pace to set the right mood, “Holocene’s End”'s intro shows STÄLKER nearing doom metal territory before plunging back into the speed metal we know them for. This eerie introduction immediately invokes an unsettling aura that is only heightened by Daif’s anguished vocal performance and maniacal laughter. German medieval rock masters FEUERSCHWANZ have released the official music video for the song "Hier kommt Alex" (english: Here Comes Alex). The song - originally written and performed by Die Toten Hosen - comes off their covers album Die Sieben Todsünden, the bonus to their brand new album Das Elfte Gebot which was released on June 26 and landed at #3 on the official German album charts, where it remained for 8 consecutive weeks.

Commented the band: ""In einer Welt in der man nur noch lebt, damit man täglich roboten geht..." (In a world in which you only live, so you can function every day...) This line seems depressingly real in these strange times - even though, back in 1988, Die Toten Hosen were inspired by Anthony Burgess' novel "A Clockwork Orange" as well as the movie of the same name by Stanley Kubrick, to write this huge German rock classic! We love the song as well as the movie and its eerie message and thus put it into a medieval sound. In the beginning of June, Norwegian hard rock icons VREID streamed a unique live performance that took place against the breathtaking backdrop of the mountains in their hometown of Sogndal, Norway. VREID played a classic set from their entire Sognametal history, including songs that have never been played live before as well as several WINDIR tracks. Vegard, the brother of late WINDIR vocalist Valfar, and former MISTUR vocalist Odne made a guest appearance during the concert. In addition to the video, VREID reopened the concert scene in Oslo (NO) on August 15, 2020! The historic performance took place at the legendary Rockefeller venue and was the first show at the venue since the Covid-19 closure. The show sold out immediately.

VREID has also launched their very own signature beer, which has been crafted by the band’s guitarist Stian “Strom” Bakketeig and Balder Brewery. 

Moreover, the band has finished material for the follow up to 2018's 'Lifehunger!' The new record will be released via Season of Mist during the first half of 2021. The band is now in the studio and reports that the spirit in the band is stronger and darker than ever before. The Nordic flame burns stronger year by year!

VREID were formed in 2004. The Norwegian metal brigade rose from the ashes of WINDIR after the tragic perishing of the "Sognametal" legends with the declared mission of exploring new musical paths.
 
The Norsemen proved true to their words and have so far delivered 7 albums and one DVD, which each received high praise from critics and fans alike. VREID chose a course of constant evolution that is marked by thematically denoted phases regarding their often historically inspired lyrics.
 
This became particularly clear with albums 'I Krig' (2007) and 'Milorg' (2009), which both revolved around concepts dealing with resistance and liberation of Norway during World War II. With their following three records, VREIDreturned to their Norse roots, especially on latest full-length, 'Sólverv' which received high critical acclaim in 2015.
 
VREID have hammered out their success partly by being a heavily touring band. The four-piece performed more than 500 shows in 25 countries so far. Their everlasting march to conquer new territories has led the Norwegians to headline tours in Europe, North America, Japan, and India.
 
VREID's style is often referred to as black 'n roll and Metal Hammer UK described their music as "a unique time travel in metal" as elements of 70's rock, 80's classic metal, and Norwegian black metal are all clearly audible.

Welcome to the unnerving and anger driven world of MORA PROKAZA where madness reigns! Just like MORA PROKAZA, the upcoming new opus ‘By Chance’ cannot be contained nor be put in one single musical category. A mixture between Avant Garde Black Metal meets New School Trap, integrated with the Belarusian arts roots that lay so deep within.

The band with the cunning name MORA PROKAZA was formed back in 2013 by Farmakon (guitars, vocals) and Isvind (drums). Both musicians have a long-term experience of playing in many local Belarusian extreme metal bands. The material for the first release “Bringer of Plague” was quickly composed and released in early 2015 and with that, MORA PROKAZA shared Russian stages with bands such as HELL SPIRIT, SUSPERIA, DARKEND, CLAYMORDS, MORIBUND OBLIVION and many others. In the winter of 2015, the band even supported INQUISITION in St. Petersburg (RU).

Shortly after the release of their debut album, Isvind leaves MORA PROKAZAand furious drummer Hatestorm joins the band commencing the recording of new material. With the addition of Hatestorm, the band opened up for new opportunities and In May 2015 the musicians present a brand-new EP "My Awakening" shorty followed by a new full-length "Dark Universe" (2016).

In 2018 MORA PROKAZA completely changed their approach to composing and sound concept and with the release of the single ‘Blacker than Black’, the band reinvented themselves with great feedback from fans all around the world. The band set out for new musical horizons and started recording a brand-new full length after signing a deal with Season of Mist.

ATREYU ANNOUNCE "CARRY THE FIRE" LIVESTREAMS

BAND TO PERFORM TWO SEPARATE SHOWS TWO WEEKS APART

The first stream will be a greatest hits set that takes place on Friday, November 20.

At the beginning of April 2020 just as the world as we knew it began to change, Finnish heavy melodic death metal band WOLFHEART released their newest full-length crusher, Wolves Of Karelia, via Napalm Records. Today, the band has emerged from the darkness once again with a vibrant lyric video for their blisteringly heavy track "Horizon On Fire", cut from the new album.

WOLFHEART frontman Tuomas Saukkonen says about the track and video:

"Of the entire album, 'Horizon on Fire' is the song that best underlines how outnumbered the Finnish army was with only 32 tanks against over 2500 Russian tanks, 114 aircrafts against Russian 3800 aircrafts and manpower almost three times the enemy during one of the coldest winters of those times. I was born in the Karelian region and my father’s family farm is only 7km from the border that was drawn after the war, so I also have a very strong personal connection to those historical events. So, lines like below were written purely to honor the sacrifice of the generation that fought the war.

Winters fury on our side

We can't be defeated

We have to hold the line

This lyric video was done by our graphics guy, Nikos Stavridakis of VisionBlack, who has done all of our album graphics for the previous three albums. Just as wildlife itself maintains harmony with a violent clash of beauty and unpredictability, Wolves Of Karelia explores the band’s previously coined genre of “winter metal” – smoothly bridging a traditional approach of extreme genres while maintaining atmospheric and acoustic elements. 

The album’s lyrical and musical content is inspired by the Winter War waged between Russia and the band’s native country, Finland, which took place during the winter of November 1939-March 1940. Finland ultimately managed to stop the Russian troops from invading their country. WOLFHEART mastermind and frontman Tuomas Saukkonen was inspired by the personal stories of local veterans, conveying the tales of what they experienced and survived from their perspectives. On Friday, October 23rd, Baltimore rockers Signal 13 will unveil their latest single/video, “All Fired Up,” from their critically acclaimed EP, ‘Destination Unknown.’ 
 

Serving as the follow-up to the earlier singles/videos “Dirty” and “Stay With Me,” “All Fired Up” is an undeniable bluesy rocker with a shout-along/anthemic chorus. 

“The song is built around this blues-rock riff that everyone really liked and it came together quickly after that,” explained the band in a statement. “Vicky had lyrics already written and immediately integrated them into the music. As soon as we started playing the main riff, she said ‘This is All Fired Up!’ and jumped right in with the lyrics. Vicky will tell you it’s about decisions and committing to move forward or back, but there is more to it than that. I don't want to give it all away but it is much deeper if you listen closely, with some Robert Johnson inspiration going on.” 

And like the other aforementioned earlier singles, a must-see video was filmed for “All Fired Up.” “We wanted to do something different than we have done before. While ‘Dirty’ was a performance video, it was very basic, with no stage, just two lights, and it fit the song. For this, with shows being shut down for so long and not being able to have people see us live, we wanted to give everyone the full show - big and bold and capturing us live. Vicky designed the stage herself and the production company really brought it to life. It was a big production for us - a fully custom designed multi-tiered stage, tons of lights, lots of cameras and different angles. It was a long day and we were having fun behind the scenes so folks hopefully get to see who we are a bit off the stage.
