German medieval rock masters FEUERSCHWANZ have released the official music video for the song "Hier kommt Alex" (english: Here Comes Alex). The song - originally written and performed by Die Toten Hosen - comes off their covers album Die Sieben Todsünden, the bonus to their brand new album Das Elfte Gebot which was released on June 26 and landed at #3 on the official German album charts, where it remained for 8 consecutive weeks.

Commented the band: ""In einer Welt in der man nur noch lebt, damit man täglich roboten geht..." (In a world in which you only live, so you can function every day...) This line seems depressingly real in these strange times - even though, back in 1988, Die Toten Hosen were inspired by Anthony Burgess' novel "A Clockwork Orange" as well as the movie of the same name by Stanley Kubrick, to write this huge German rock classic! We love the song as well as the movie and its eerie message and thus put it into a medieval sound. Let's ascend to Burg Abenberg again, harken Mieze Myus' gentle harp before we shout: Hier kommt Alex!"

Das Elfte Gebot also includes the bonus cover album Die Sieben Todsünden (except for the CD Jewel Case Version) containing seven cover versions of songs not only by internationally acclaimed artists like Seeed and Ed Sheeran but also Rammstein, Powerwolf and Sabaton.

To celebrate the release, the band performed an exclusive online open air at Burg Abenberg the same day. The recording can be viewed here.

Das Elfte Gebot is the successor to 2018's Methämmer, which went straight to #6 of the German album charts.

German medieval rock masters FEUERSCHWANZ have released the official music video for their song "Im Bauch des Wals" (english: In The Belly Of The Whale). The song comes off their brand new album Das Elfte Gebot which was released on June 26 and landed at #3 on the official German album charts, where it remained for 8 consecutive weeks.

Commented the band: "'Im Bauch des Wals' is about a majestic sea creature who did not swallow biblical Jona, but rather so much man made plastic that it eventually dies and sinks into the ocean.

The ship that Hodi and Hauptmann discovered on their trip to England went aground just before Land's End in 2003 on its way from Cork (Ireland) to Lübeck - with 2200 tons of plastic on board.

Ever since then it's right there at the beach, moaning and groaning whenever the high waves hit - just like a stranded whale dying...

We tried to capture the eerie and somehow mystical vibes of that place for you. A place where you go like: What kind of planet are we leaving to our descendants? One thing's for sure: a whole lot of plastic waste."

Commented the band: "The Witch Hammer (lat. Malleus Maleficarum) is a pamphlet to legitimize the witch hunt and was released by Dominican Heinrich Kramer in 1486. He tried to cement his misogyny religiously and called everyone opposed to the witch hunt heretics!

With heavy Black Sabbath- or Dio-esque riffs, medieval bagpipes and hurdy gurdies as well as monks' choirs in the vein of Ghost we show you a bleak world of medieval fake news! The high castle is set ablaze as our kitties won't be oppressed!"

FEUERSCHWANZ Release Music Video For Cover Of Ed Sheeran's "I See Fire"

German medieval rock masters FEUERSCHWANZ have released the official music video for the cover of "I See Fire", the seminal song from Peter Jackson's cinematic adaption of J.R.R. Tolkien's middle-earth epic, The Hobbit. The song comes off the bonus covers album Die Sieben Todsünden which will be released as part of the deluxe version of the band's upcoming new album, Das Elfte Gebot, on June 26.

Commented the band: "When we were brainstorming which songs we'd choose for our covers album Die Sieben Todsünden, this song was so close to our hearts, the dragon fans and middle-earth nerds that we are. The original version still makes us shiver and can't really be topped, so we used powerful guitars, folky bagpipes and epic fiddles. It's a song about unity while facing destruction war and death and also marks our first song in english.

The video was shot in the mystic southwest of England at the coast of Cornwall where Hauptmann, Hodi and Mieze Musch-Musch went last fall."

Das Elfte Gebot is the successor of 2018's extremely successful album, Methämmer, (#6 in the official German album charts) and is scheduled for a June 26 release via Napalm Records.
