Hard Rock Supergroup ICONIC Shares New Single "Tears Keep On Falling" + Visualizer

Today, hard rock supergroup ICONIC - featuring Michael Sweet (guitars), Joel Hoekstra(guitars), Marco Mendoza (bass), Tommy Aldridge (drums), and Nathan James (vocals) – shares a new single, “Tears Keep On Falling,” taken from their upcoming sophomore album ‘II,’ set for release on for July 31, 2026 via Frontiers Music Srl.

Nathan James comments:

“I loved singing this song in the studio. Such a great chorus and I really hope the listeners enjoy it as much as I do!”

Michael Sweet shares:

"I’m really proud to be a part of such an iconic band, no pun intended! It takes me back to the glory days, when rock ruled radio, and it was topping the charts. We created this album to remind people of those times. Here’s to 'Tears Keep On Falling'!”

At the heart of 'II' lies the electrifying guitar partnership of Joel Hoekstra and Michael Sweet, delivering a masterclass in soaring melodies, blazing solos, and muscular riffs that perfectly balance technical brilliance with pure hard-rock attitude. Beneath them, the rhythm section of Tommy Aldridge and Marco Mendoza drives the record with thunderous authority, creating a groove that is both massive and relentless.

'Tears Keep On Falling' is a powerful rock ballad; it will get your attention as soon as you hear it, from the first verse. Nathan’s vocals are amazing, and Michael and Joel’s guitars are on fire… Tommy A at the helm driving! Enjoy!” said Marco Mendoza.

Joel Hoekstra comments on the new track:

“I hope everyone enjoys 'Tears Keep On Falling.' It was killer to lean into the groove that Tommy Aldridge and Marco Mendoza gave us for this one. It was also great fun to play the harmony lead lines with Michael Sweet and finally to hear Nathan James belt out the vocals like only he can!”

ICONIC returns with 'II,' a second album that doesn’t just continue the band’s journey - it defines it. Where their debut introduced the chemistry between five world-class musicians, 'II'sharpens that vision into a clearer, heavier, and more confident sonic identity, delivering a sound that is more powerful, more direct, and unmistakably rock.

The album kicks off with “Cry No More," a high-octane opener that immediately sets the tone - an energetic slice of hard rock packed with driving riffs, explosive drums, and a chorus built to stick.

On the other side of the emotional spectrum, “Tears Keep On Falling” showcases the band’s dynamic range, unfolding into an electrifying power ballad in which melody, atmosphere, and intensity converge in dramatic fashion.

Towering above it all is Nathan James, whose performance on 'II' is nothing short of extraordinary - powerful, soulful, and commanding, elevating every track with unmistakable presence.

Tommy Aldridge adds:

“Such an honor and a blessing working with Nathan, Marco, Michael, and Joel again. Consummate pros!”

With bigger riffs, deeper grooves, and a stronger sense of identity, 'II' captures ICONIC at full force: a band no longer introducing itself but fully owning its sound.

Self Deception Drop New Single "BREAK!" | New Album "One Of Us" Out 5/13

Swedish modern rock force SELF DECEPTION unleashes their powerful new single "BREAK!," packed with the band's signature explosive energy. "BREAK!" arrives only a few days before the release of their brand-new studio album, One Of Us, out May 15 via Napalm Records.

"BREAK!" features heavy-hitting drums, strong riffs, and electronic influences, all topped with an irresistible sing-along chorus. With previous hits like "Fight Fire With Gasoline" (2022), which has accumulated tens of millions of streams, SELF DECEPTION are set to continue establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the international rock scene with this new offering.

Vocalist Andreas Clark comments on "BREAK!":
"We all know that person. The one who made chaos their comfort, who can't feel love unless it hurts, 'cause pain's the only proof it's real. One side writes poetry, the other lights the pages on fire. Passionate but poisonous, begging for peace while starting wars, addicted to the drama, torn clean down the middle of who they are."

Watch the official music video for "BREAK!" Below":

Known for their fiery fusion of anthemic modern metal and powerful melodic rock, SELF DECEPTION have shared stages with the likes of Electric Callboy, Danko Jones, and Adept since their 2009 debut, while racking up millions of streams and video views — including their viral 2022 hit "Fight Fire With Gasoline," with tens of millions of streams. Written on the road during the heaviest touring of SELF DECEPTION's career so far, One Of Us is a cohesive album full of character, made for the stage — and the pit!

SELF DECEPTION about One Of Us:
"One Of Us is our new album, inspired by life on the road and the energy of the live stage. Touring so much has put us in a kind of 'live bubble,' and that feeling runs through the songwriting. The album revolves around outsidership and the desire to belong. On tour, we meet many lost and lonely people, all seeking a few hours of escape where they can disappear into a rock show. With One Of Us, we want everyone to feel part of something bigger, to feel like one of us."

Canadian Alt-Rockers SELFISH THINGS Announce New Album 'Receptivity' Set for Release on October 9th via FLG

Today, alt-rockers SELFISH THINGS are thrilled to announce the release of their new studio album, ‘Receptivity,’ set for release on October 9, 2026 via FLG.

After releasing their single “Sunlight” in March, the band now unleashes their new track “Effigy,” along with an official video.

Frontman Alex Biro comments:

“Admittedly - this was a song I hated that quickly became everyone’s favourite. I wrote the lyrics in an hour at the lowest point of my sobriety in 2022. I can’t say anything about it beyond it was stream of consciousness, clearly blistering, and is something I can’t listen to often without feeling sh*t I’ve tried to bury. I hope it brings you peace.”

Watch the Official Video for "Effigy" Below:

SELFISH THINGS‘Receptivity’ is a raw and unflinching portrait of frontman Alex Biro’s reckoning with collapse and recovery. Born from the ashes of a life derailed - years of relentless touring, addiction, and the stillness of a pandemic that forced reflection – ‘Receptivity’ is both a lifeline and a rebirth. Created alongside longtime collaborators Michael Ticar and Mike Tompa, and mixed by Sam Guaiana (Bayside, Neck Deep, Against The Current), the album took shape during Biro’s earliest days of sobriety. It’s not just a return - it’s a declaration. Brutally honest, emotionally charged, and rooted in redemption, ‘Receptivity’ stands as a testament to survival, accountability, and the strength to rebuild when everything falls apart.

Originally a moniker for Biro, SELFISH THINGS released their debut EP ‘Vertical Love’ (A Wolf at Your Door Records) produced by James Paul Wisner (Paramore, Underoath, Dashboard Confessional). The release earned the attention of BBC Radio 1’s Dan P. Carterand earned the band a 2017 cover spot on Spotify’s New Noise playlist.

Their 2019 debut LP ‘Logos’ (Pure Noise Records) produced by Drew Fulk (Knocked Loose, Beartooth, Lil Peep) landed the band on multiple Billboard charts before the COVID-19 pandemic cut the album cycle short, forcing the band into hiatus.

In the years since, Biro and bandmate Michael Ticar have collaborated with Juno Award–winning producer Mike Tompa, writing music born from the tail end of addiction and carried into sobriety.

Now four years sober and working in peer support within the touring community, Biro says the band’s return feels less like a comeback and more like a reckoning - a chance to speak plainly about addiction, mental health, and the danger of freezing people at their worst moments.

‘Receptivity’ is a triumph of the human experience. It is a story of a man who understands the depths of his own shadow, unafraid to face the thunder of his past. In a society obsessed with division and virtue signalling, the three friends have created something inextricably tied to challenging the status quo. An album meant to tell the story of a man willing to stand in front of the world and acknowledge his brokenness and its impact without blame. A man tired of division and anger. A man who is changed for the better.

Biro states:

“This wasn’t supposed to be an album. It’s still not really an album to me, or to any of us. More just… closure, I guess. I was at the beginning of my full-blown addiction on the last tour we ever did before COVID stopped the world in 2020. I hated myself and I hated the world more than I really knew at the time. I’m four years sober on the 18th of May, working as a sober coach and clinician with folks who struggle with the same things I do, even in my recovery. The profits will be donated to the hospital where I went to rehab, and (admittedly), we don’t really know where to go (or if we’ll go anywhere with it) afterward.”

“The only thing that’s brought me peace in the aftermath of the cataclysm of my addiction is being of service to others. I think deep down, releasing this for whoever needs to hear it is an extension of that. Everything beautiful blooms from the mud. Everything beautiful grows from the dirt”, he added. “This is for those who can accept that the things they’ve been through can either be the poison cup they sip from or the counterweight that lifts themselves and others up. That being imperfect is being human. And that suffering is singular, and universal.”

KINGS OF THRASH Release New Single & Music Video “Bullets Ready” via Cleopatra Records

The band’s newest original song delivers a powerful vocal duet between KINGS OF THRASH vocalist Chaz Leon and Gabriel Connor - frontman of the rising Los Angeles theatrical rock group Red Devil Vortex. The track also features a special guest appearance by former Exodus vocalist Steve “Zetro” Souza. “Bullets Ready” was mixed by Grammy winning producer Cameron Webb, known for his work with Motörhead, Danzig and Godsmack.

Guitarist and co-composer Jeff Young reflects on the origins of the song:

“During the making of the Nick Menza film, I acquired several demo recordings of Nick playing various drum progressions. In essence, the introduction, verses & chorus of 'Bullets Ready' came from playing along to one of Nick's energetic grooves. During the So Far, So Good... So What! tour, it was often David, Nick & myself that would conduct the soundchecks. It was a surreal & nostalgic feeling to be playing along and writing riffs with my long, lost friend. Nick’s playing inspired so much of this song and his spirit is forever encapsulated inside this recording.”

Dead Poet Society Return With Video for New Song "Sinner Systems"

Southern California-based alt hard rock band DEAD POET SOCIETY — Jack Underkofler (vocals/guitar); Jack Collins (guitar); Will Goodroad (drums); and Dylan Brenner (bass) — return with the video for new song "Sinner Systems." The song was produced by Paul Meany (Twenty-One Pilots, Pierce The Veil) and mixed by Adam Hawkins (Turnstile, Yungblud, Twenty-One Pilots).

The voyeuristic video is as tense as the song's angular and low-end riffing.

Watch it below

"'Sinner Systems' is a dark, brooding song that blends heavy, detuned fretless grooves with addictive, hedonistic lyrics that hold a mirror up to modern excess and emotional numbness," the band explains. "We explored the duality of the detuned and the melodic and came up with a song that is a cinematic journey for the listener."

NYC's Julia Greenberg shares 'Leaves' single, a masterclass in the art of letting go 'Born Sentimental' EP to be released via Magic Door Record Label

NYC-based singer-songwriter Julia Greenberg presents her new single 'Leaves', an uplifting track that feels remarkably hopeful despite being written amidst the quiet wreckage of personal loss. Mastering the art of letting go, she offers a poignant reminder that some seasons simply cannot be held captive. This is a hauntingly graceful prelude to her 'Born Sentimental' EP, slated for June release via New Jersey's Magic Door Record Label.

Directed by Julia Greenberg and edited by Nico Greenberg with Yumiko Takagi as director or photography, the accompanying video captures a small-town schoolhouse that is "frozen in time", this setting serving as a poignant monument to the people and milestones we’ve moved on from. The lens treats these relics as a visual meditation on the bittersweet friction between honoring our most precious, fleeting memories and finding the courage to keep walking toward the hope of an unmapped horizon.

'Leaves' sets the tone for the EP. Written over several years in the aftermath of a personal tragedy, the song is reminder that, try as we might, we can’t hang on to those autumn leaves. Referencing the incomparable and oft interpreted Kurt Weill song, Julia chastises herself: “There’s nothing dumber, than the girl who sings September Song in summer”, as she ruminates over her guitar in the shade while everyone else is at the lake.

Recorded live at Chrometop Studios, this music vibrates with the raw, lived-in chemistry of a quartet that has spent half a decade honing these stories while touring the Northeast, capturing their emotional and creative connections and vulnerabilities. It’s a deeply personal and gorgeous collision of alt-country grit and the sophisticated wit of American Standards, capturing a vulnerability that feels both timeless and bracingly honest. Co-produced by Bob Perry (The Winter Hours) and Julia Greenberg, this EP was engineered by Bob Perry and mastered by Ray Ketchem (Guided by Voices, Elk City, Gramercy Arms, Luna, Crash Harmony) at Magic Door Recording Studio in Montclair, NJ.

"These songs are unapologetically written and sung by a woman who has been around a while and has seen and lost a thing or two—and knows the power of the proximity of funny and mournful. The songs, and the kind of raw way I’m putting them out into the world, is a reaction to all the screens, and filters and bullshit projections of ourselves that rule us," says Julia Greenberg.

A chanteuse, theater composer and filmmaker with roots in the downtown NYC music scene, Julia Greenberg has released two albums of original music - 'Past Your Eyes'and 'Greenland' - both produced by James Mastro (The Bongos, Mott the Hoople, Ian Hunter, Patti Smith, John Cale). Her her music has been featured on 'This American Life' (including the ever-popular Dr. Phil episode, in which Phil Collins evaluates a breakup song she co-wrote), and Ronnie Spector also recorded one of her songs.

Greenberg's award-winning documentary 'Dory Previn: On My Way to Where' can now be watched on PBS, having had its world premiere at the SXSW Film & TV Festival in 2024. Prior to directing the film, Julia became the foremost interpreter of Previn’s music, performing her work around the country at venues such as Joe’s Pub, Mass MoCA, the 92nd Street Y, the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, and on WFMU and WNYC radio. She is also the archivist for Previn's estate.

Apart from co-writing the hit off-Broadway rock opera 'People Are Wrong!' with Robin Goldwasser, she composed the music for the off-Broadway play 'Cavedweller' with "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" composer Stephen Trask. In her spare time, she is a health justice advocate and co-curates the music program at the Rock Valley Schoolhouse in the Catskills.

"After years of interpreting other people’s songs and making a film about my musical idol, Dory Previn, this release feels like some kind of catharsis. It’s just me and my unadorned voice and musical companions of the last decade, doing what we do live, captured so beautifully by engineer and co-producer Bob Perry," says Julia Greenberg.

As of April 21, 'Leaves' is available across digital platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon and Bandcamp, where it is currently available for download. On June 11, the 'Born Sentimental' EP will be released via Magic Door Record Label.

CONJURER have evolved radically since the release of their debut album (Mire, 2018), and their second release (Páthos, 2022) saw them lauded among the most exciting British metal bands. Whilst award nominations and accolades accumulated, the four-piece band retained their very simple mission: to make heavy music and have fun whilst doing so. Preferring to use their spotlight to showcase technicality and musicality rather than centring politics or opinions, CONJURER lived in the moment and embraced everything that came their way.

Within the tumult of forging a renewed identity as a band, on Unself there is a more intense, more personal voyage of discovery unfurling for vocalist/guitarist Dani Nightingale. Diagnosed with autism at age 31, their long-held view of self, and perception of their place in the world began to unravel. Unself documents much of the piecing back together around the diagnosis, alongside the realisation they were non-binary.

These vignettes of processing and self-actualisation take place against the backdrop of a society careening towards glassy-eyed capitalist dystopia; finding firm footing eludes many of us - and CONJURER delve headfirst into exploring these suffocating new societal parameters.

Within Unself's nine tracks, CONJURER deliver the writhing post-metal sound they’ve become known for, but have loosened their grip on the desire to fill every moment with sonic obliteration. Instead, they have leaned into utilising space, gifting listeners a little breathing room which serves to make the heavy elements feel all the more intense.

A more direct, organic approach to songwriting was facilitated by the ever-strengthening bonds within the band, and the supportive environment created by producer Joe Clayton. Allowing themselves more time than with any previous recording experience, they committed to preproduction sessions, followed by an elongated recording period in order to do justice to the material they had crafted. Stripping back the excesses of previous outings to reveal their solid songwriting chops allowed for more clarity and more dynamics to shine through. To their ears, the mood, the core of the lyrical content and the music are more aligned than ever before.

This record is the sound of four individuals living with more purpose and as a consequence creating with more purpose. Unself sees them reaching out to offer community, catharsis and connection. CONJURER remain true to their original mission - they’re still having fun, playing interesting heavy music - but now that music is imbued with the power that comes from opening themselves up to others, at first within the band, and now beyond.

EPICA - Reveal Live Video 'Cross The Divide (Live at Ziggo Dome Amsterdam)'

Having recently wraped up their colossal Arcane Dimensions Tour with Amaranthe and Charlotte Wessels, symphonic metal titans EPICA have unveiled an exhilarating live version of their track 'Cross The Divide', taken from their critically acclaimed, latest studio record Aspiral.

This action-packed version was recorded early this year at the band's biggest headline show to date - a sold-out night at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome in front of 10,000 fans.

Watch the video for 'Cross The Divide (Live At Ziggo Dome Amsterdam)' Below:

About EPICA:

The journey of growth follows a spiral, continuously widening and deepening with every cycle.

By sticking to this spiritual principle, symphonic metal innovators EPICA have reinvented themselves on their ninth effort Aspiral, releasing a studio album that shows a band brimming with a newfound joy in their own skin – standing united as a team, where every band member brought inspiration, ideas and years of songwriting experience to the table.

Aspiral bears testimony to this unity, but the band’s steep ascent within the past years was far from coincidental and required lots of hard work and combination of things happening after the release of their latest album Omega in the midst of a raging pandemic. After walking several steps off their usual path with their EP The Alchemy Project which saw them collaborating with artists such as MyrkurFleshgod Apocalypse or Uriah Heep, the band played a massive world tour and got invited by a certain band called Metallica for several dates, and played 4 sold out “Symphonic Synergy” shows with a massive orchestra and choir.

After diving deep into hypothetical theories, metaphysical mysticism and themes that were touching the fabric of our existence in the infinity of the universe, EPICA ’s 9th studio effort Aspiral centres on the work of sculptor Stanisław Szukalski. During the first Covid lockdown, bassist Rob van der Loo saw the documentary ‘Struggle – The Life And Lost Art Of Stanislav Szukalski’ and felt so inspired by his work that he wanted to write soundtracks for some of his sculptures, simply because each and every detail in his works are artworks on their own and their stories go very deep. And this is where the path started. Aspiral was born as an instrumental soundtrack to this world, an initially separate project that over time metamorphosed into the new EPICA record.

The title comes from a bronze statue Szukalski did in 1965. If you take a close look, you can see snails rebuilding elements out of the mud in cycles and this eventually leads to civilization and a woman reaching out to the sun. "Misery Repeat" opens with a VHS-era recording in Ukrainian confirming that the first session of the DVRK program has been completed, and that what follows will be harder, faster and without mercy.

DVRK do not present themselves as a band so much as a system; a global organisation running its subjects through escalating trials, its reach extending across languages and borders. French, Japanese and other tongues will carry future transmissions, each one pulling the listener deeper into a mythology that has no clear center and no visible end. At its core, beneath the architecture of the program, is something altogether more human: a man consumed by a love that has become indistinguishable from ruin, drinking himself numb, unable to surface. The program frames him. The song does not spare him.

"Misery Repeat" was produced by Fabien Letren and Bastien Deleule and recorded by Bastien Deleule at Nalcon Studio. The song was mixed and mastered by Eloi Nicod at Craftline Studio. The artwork was created by Cédric Faullummel.

The visuals for “Misery Repeat” were created by Ahleesi Mathis / @sinpievisuals.

Don’t miss DVRK when they tour Japan next week with Obscura and Fallujah. The band will also join Obscura next year on a tour of Europe and the UK alongside Pestilence, Cryptic Shift and Thus.

DVRK The Sun Eater 2026 Japan Tour

with Obscura and Fallujah

DVRK is a French five-piece operating at the intersection of deathcore, nu-metal, and electronic bass music. Formed in 2019 as a solo project, the band has since expanded into a full ensemble featuring Julian Wilt on vocals, Bastien Deleule and Gérald Audiard on guitars, Fabien Letren on bass, and Vincent Vidal on drums.

From the outset, DVRK has operated less like a conventional band and more like a system—a constructed world with its own logic, language, and escalating narrative. Each release functions as a transmission, drawing listeners deeper into a mythology that frames the project as a global program running its subjects through increasingly demanding sessions. The debut EP, Infinite Reminiscence, released via Season of Mist, established the framework. "Misery Repeat" marks the beginning of what comes next.

Past collaborations include Conquer Divide, Cove Reber, Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!, and Hyro the Hero.

Line-up:

Julian Wilt — Vocals

Bastien Deleule — Guitar

Gérald Audiard — Guitar

Fabien Letren — Bass

New Jersey's Deardarkhead presents 'Letting Go' feat. Joe McGinty, first taste of 'The Pendulum Swings', first full-length album in 26 years

New Jersey alt-rock dreampop outfit Deardarkhead presents their new single 'Letting Go', the first taste of 'The Pendulum Swings', an instrumental anthem built around soaring guitar leads and melodic bass hooks. A piece about growth and change, centered on releasing old patterns and embracing new directions, the track features keyboardist Joe McGinty, known for his work with The Psychedelic Furs, Nada Surf, Ryan Adams and Deborah Harry, adding atmosphere and texture.

Now made up of guitarist Kevin Harrington, drummer Robert Weiss and bassist James Malizia, who, in August 2024, took over from Brandon Howard, who recorded bass on this album. Deardarkhead has built a distinctive identity since the departure of vocalist-bassist Michael Amper in 2009, shifting fully into instrumental composition where melody and texture take the place of vocals.

With many notable milestones over their nearly four decades, including shows with the likes of Supergrass, The Psychedelic Furs, Everclear, Nothing and The Lilys, the new album captures an ever-evolving band, refining their voice through texture, atmosphere, and emotional momentum.

Taking their name from the 1867 Irish poem “Cean Dubh Dilis” by Samuel Ferguson -- a work about a beautiful dark-haired girl -- Deardarkhead was formed in 1988 in the Atlantic City, New Jersey area. Their identity rooted as much in mood as in melody, their music blends atmospheric dreampop, shoegaze shimmer and ethereal rock, unfolding as an original, guitar-driven psychedelic tightrope walk balancing moody textures and shimmering melodies.

“This first single 'Letting Go' is a song about growth. It’s a song about change. Letting go of old ways. It’s about taking a new direction and knowing that it’s going to be right," says Kevin Harrington.

Rob Weiss adds, "This started out as a piano piece by guitarist Kevin Harrington and quickly grew into a full blown anthem with soaring guitar leads and melodic bass hooks. In demand keyboardist Joe McGinty and fellow South New Jerseyan provided backing keyboard tracks for the song."

Deardarkhead's sixth recording and second full-length album, 'The Pendulum Swings' captures a period of renewed experimentation and refinement. Recorded at Miner Street Recordings in Philadelphia, they worked with producers Brian McTear and Amy Morrissey (The War on Drugs, Kurt Vile, Sharon Van Etten) and Grammy-nominated mastering engineer Joe Lambert (Animal Collective, Blonde Redhead, Beach House, M83, Wild Nothing).

This album moves through shifting moods ranging from soaring, psychedelic-tinged guitar anthems to driving post-punk rhythms and more ambient, abstract passages. The result is a dynamic and cohesive work that highlights the band’s signature blend of shimmering guitars, pulsing bass, and powerful percussion. The band pushes the envelope with their instrumental approach, using drum loops, unusual time signatures, ebow, bass VI, and expanded guitar layering.

To date, Deardarkhead has released five recordings on their own Fertile Crescent Records, their music also featured on numerous US and Japanese indie compilations, beginning with 1998 debut album 'Unlock the Valves of Feeling'. In 2011, Captured Tracks released 'Oceanside: 1991-1993', a retrospective of their early material as the second contribution to their Shoegaze Archives series. They then joined iconic label Saint Marie Records in 2015, releasing their critically-acclaimed 'Strange Weather' EPwith them in 2016.

'Letting Go' is out now, available from music platforms, including SpotifyApple Musicand Bandcamp. Now available for pre-order, 'The Pendulum Swings' album will be released on CD, digitally, and on 180-gram vinyl on July 10.

From Sold-Out Tours to Charting Success, THE HOWLERS Return with a Dark New Chapter

After returning in 2025 with the singles “Nightcrawling” and “You Can Be So Cruel,” and signing with indie label FLG, London indie rockers THE HOWLERS are back with their new single “Viper.” The newest offering comes alongside the announcement of their second album, ‘Heavy,’ due out on October 9th — a bold, visceral statement of intent as the band enters their most defining chapter yet.

Driven by pulsing riffs, a relentless rhythm section, and raw, urgent energy, “Viper” captures THE HOWLERS at their most immediate — indie rock ’n’ roll rooted in tension, desire, and consequence. It sets the tone for ‘Heavy,’ a record that sees frontman Adam Young push his songwriting into darker, more impulsive territory.

'Viper' speaks to an experience of being totally drawn towards someone even though you can see the red flags — the desire for all of us to willingly make bad decisions for the thrill of what comes next, regardless of consequences,” says Young. “You’re lost in the moment together. But no matter how much you kid yourself into believing the Bonnie & Clyde fantasy, they will always cause you pain in the end.”

Watch the Official Video for "Viper" Below:

Following a period of transition at the end of 2024, THE HOWLERS entered a new phase, with frontman Adam Young rebuilding the project as a two-piece alongside drummer Toby Richards — a shift that redefined both the band’s sound and creative direction, bringing a renewed sense of focus and identity.

That reset came off the back of a breakthrough year. Their self-funded debut album ‘What You’ve Got To Lose To Win It All’ landed to widespread European acclaim, breaking into the UK Independent Breakers Charts Top 10 while securing multiple positions across independent, vinyl and physical sales charts. Radio support followed from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Radio X and Absolute Radio, alongside international backing and editorial playlisting across Apple Music and Spotify.

That momentum translated directly to the stage. A sold-out 18-date UK headline tour established the band as one of the country’s most exciting live acts, followed by a European run that saw them sell out shows across eight countries — road-testing new material that would ultimately shape what came next.

Where that debut was defined by grief and personal loss, ‘Heavy’ emerges from a very different place. Driven by the tension between desire and consequence, recklessness and reality, it’s an album lit by the pull of the night, the thrill of impulse and the cold clarity that follows.

Written and produced alongside long-time collaborator Chris Ostler (Black Honey), the record deliberately sidesteps traditional studio methods. Instead, it was built remotely — with demos, ideas and reworked compositions exchanged across digital platforms — stripping everything back while pushing each track to its strongest form. Only in the final stages did the band enter rehearsal spaces to capture live drums, grounding its more experimental edges with a raw, physical energy.

Young adds:

This album is those late night experiences, the after dark conversations, late night phone calls, the seductive nature of impulsiveness that seems so alluring and losing yourself in the addictive nature of recklessness — but it’s also the mirror in the morning, the wake up call, and the harsh reality of knowing those feelings won’t always last. It’s the moment you find yourself again.

Pre-Order 'Heavy' HERE

For a band that has always worn its honesty as a badge of honour — and built a fiercely loyal following on the back of it — ‘Heavy’ feels like the album THE HOWLERS were always moving towards. With an extensive UK and European headline tour to follow, 2026 is shaping up to be the year they fully arrive.

German Symphonic Metal Icons XANDRIA Announce New Album "Eclipse" + Share New Video

Chart-topping German symphonic metal icons XANDRIA will release their new studio album, Eclipse, on August 7 via Napalm Records. The upcoming full-length features eleven tracks that represent the most diverse body of work in the band’s discography so far: every song has its own identity — a journey full of discoveries — yet they all belong to the same world. Classic, '80s-inspired metal riffs stand alongside low-tuned modern metal guitars; cinematic orchestral sounds meet Celtic folk influences, and dark electronic elements blend with intimate rock moments, even including a guitar solo that owes more to Pink Floyd than to any metal genre.

With "The Shannon’s Home," XANDRIA unveils the first offering cut from the upcoming record. The song weaves dreamlike melodies, cinematic opulence, and folk elements, all driven by the soaring vocals of Ambre Vourvahis. Both intimate and epic, XANDRIA once again prove that they belong among the leading acts in the scene! "The Shannon’s Home" is now available on all streaming services worldwide and comes with an official music video that can be seen below.

Band mastermind Marco Heubaum comments on "The Shannon's Home":
"A song like a beautiful, slightly dark fairytale — which makes sense, as it is an analogy of life, pictured as the river Shannon, flowing from its source to the sea. And just one of the many colorful facets of our new album, which will be a journey full of diverse elements and surprises. We felt this song had a mysterious magic that captured our hearts from the very beginning. In fact, it was the first song we wrote for this next voyage of wonders — so we instantly knew this was the first song we wanted you all to hear. For all you wonderful people out there — enjoy!"

Watch the official music video for "The Shannon’s Home" Below:

Eclipse marks XANDRIA’s most outspoken and cinematic album so far: a dark, colorful, and defiant statement for reason, empathy, and democracy in times when all three are under attack, brought to life by a band fueled with new energy, new ambitions, and a clear artistic direction, aiming higher than ever and not looking back!

Pre-order your version of Eclipse NOW.

While The Wonders Still Awaiting (2023) marked the rebirth of XANDRIA with a new line-up — an album that opened the door to a new era — Eclipse goes further. It is more focused and direct, the lyrics are more outspoken, dealing almost entirely with what is happening to our civilization right now. The contrasts are stronger, and the different musical and vocal colours feel even more naturally integrated into the songs. As XANDRIA's sole composer, Marco Heubaum musically draws inspiration from all aspects of his surroundings: music, stories, and emotions that have shaped him since childhood. It is no secret that film scores have always been another major influence, especially composers like Hans Zimmer and John Williams.

XANDRIA ARE:
Marco Heubaum — Guitar, Keys
Ambre Vourvahis — Vocals
Robert Klawonn — Guitar
Dimitrios — Drums

TodoMal Release Melodic New Single "Humanised Gods"

TodoMal are releasing “Humanised Gods” as the second single from their upcoming third album Graveyards of Joy. The song bears all the marks of the Spanish duo: solemn doom metal, strong melodies and cinematic atmosphere.

Graveyards of Joy comes out July 3, 2026 on Season of Mist

Pre-order

Where the first single from Graveyards of Joy, “Point of Coalescence”, opened on dense, uncompromising ground, “Humanised Gods” offers a different kind of weight. Mid-tempo and melodic, the new single draws its lyrical material from the excess and spectacle of the Claudian dynasty in ancient Rome: emperors regarded as demi-gods, figures onto whom desires and projections were freely cast. From there, the song widens its frame to address something more immediate: the hubris of contemporary individualism, the cult of the self, the particular vacancy that follows when admiration tips into deification. It is, within the arc of the album, a moment of relative relief, the music direct and unguarded in a way that the record's darker corners are not.

Graveyards of Joy is the closing chapter of a trilogy that began with Ultracrepidarian(2021) and continued with A Greater Good (2023). Written in solitude following personal tragedy, the album draws on the landscapes and ghost towns of rural eastern Spain, a terrain the band describe as raw, honest and untamed. It channels grief, anger and hard-won hope through a sound rooted in the slow-burning weight of classic doom and dramatic rock. Vast Hammond organ-driven passages give way to desolate folk; strings with Morriconian openness sit alongside heavy, anchoring riffs. The band draw on a wide range of reference points, from the orchestral sweep of Vangelis and the warmth of Deep Purple to the dramatic sensibility of Tindersticks and Nick Cave, without losing the solemnity that defines TodoMal.

Catch TodoMal on tour this summer, including dates with Evoken.

Graveyards of Joy is the third album and the closing chapter of a trilogy. Written in solitude following personal tragedy, it channels grief, anger and hard-won hope into nine tracks of slow-burning, widescreen doom. The music breathes: vast Hammond-driven passages give way to desolate folk, Morricone-like strings open onto dusty cinematic plains, and heavy riffs anchor songs that never lose sight of melody. A DIY record of striking emotional depth and modern, alternative edge.

SENNA Return With Video for New Single "Out Of The Blue"

German metalcore band SENNA return with their compelling new single "Out of The Blue," out now via SharpTone Records. The release marks a pivotal moment in the band's evolution, introducing longtime guitarist Marcel Dürr as the group's new lead vocalist for the first time.

Speaking on the single, the band shares:
"'Out of The Blue' is about confronting fear of rejection and self-worth with a kind of honesty that turns vulnerability into connection."

Originally emerging as a studio side project, SENNA quickly evolved into a fully-fledged band consisting of Marcel Dürr (now vocals, formerly guitar), Fabian Cattarius (bass), and Viktor Warzecha (drums). Drawing their name from the Arabic word for brightness, shine, or glow, the band's identity reflects both their sonic ambition and their artistic intent — a luminous blend of technical precision, playful experimentation, and a fusion of hard rock, progressive, and post-hardcore influences.

"It was really liberating," Dürr recalls of the band’s early creative mindset. "Because we weren't pursuing SENNA as a proper band at first, we had a lot of time to experiment with our sound. Our goal was to simply write the music that we enjoyed, without being boxed into any one genre."

This ethos of freedom and exploration has remained central to SENNA's identity. Their debut EP A Moment of Quiet offered an early glimpse into their creative vision, setting the foundation for what would become their full-length debut album Stranger To Love, released via SharpTone Records in 2024. The record showcased SENNA's ability to balance intricate melodies with raw emotional depth, capturing the quiet, often overlooked moments that shape human connection.

Following standout singles including "High Note", "Rain", "Blackout", "Hurricane" and "Potential." With Marcel originally positioned as guitarist during this era, the band now enters a new phase with him stepping forward as frontman.

"Out of The Blue" is out now via SharpTone Records on all streaming platforms.

IATT Release New Album 'Etheric Realms of the Night' Alongside Video For "To Lie Beneath"

"To Lie Beneath" embraces discomfort and unquiet. IATT craft a haunting soundscape in this track as they explore the sensation of sleep paralysis, and "To Lie Beneath" sees the band joined by Jerome Burns who provides a dizzying trumpet solo. The thrilling accompanying music video brings to life this song's themes in line with the overarching concept of the new album. Etheric Realms of the Night is out now via Black Lion Records.

In "To Lie Beneath", shrill black metal vocals traverse above an immersive, textural instrumental arrangement. The extreme genre influences are placed alongside progressive styles reflecting the tension and disjointed impact of sleep paralysis. Symphonic elements from orchestral instruments entwine throughout the discordant layers. Specifically, IATT's use of harp alludes to the feeling of being immobilized during sleep paralysis.

Returning to the central theme of Etheric Realms of the Night, the instrumental section in "To Lie Beneath" represents being torn between reality and the dream world. The song's ethereal piano led outro is joined by a flute accompaniment. Serene yet somber, this conclusion introduces the idea of somniphobia, the fear of falling asleep, which is the focus of the following track on the album.

IATT's cinematic music video for "To Lie Beneath" incorporates imagery of entanglement. The narrative's heroine is tied and bound with rope, and has cloth over her eyes restricting her senses further. Attempting to navigate her way through woodland, under the watchful eyes of cloaked figures, the protagonist is left stumbling while trying to make sense of this warped reality. Enlisting the help of two guides, something hooded and sinister follows close behind.

Once her sight is restored, the heroine encounters objects, reminders, from 'reality' manifesting in this dream realm. The video ends showing her physical form situated firmly in the real world, while her mind ventures in plains elsewhere.

IATT will be bringing Etheric Realms of the Night to the stage. In support of the new album and full-length film, the band has announced a run of live dates spanning the East Coast and into Canada marking IATT’s first time performing north of the border.

For this run, Etheric Realms of the Night will be performed in its entirety, offering a rare opportunity to experience the full narrative as it was intended live, immersive, and unfolding in real time.

The tour also features a number of special engagements, including the official release event for the band’s “Draft Away” beer collaboration, as well as the red carpet premiere screening of Etheric Realms of the Night - the Complete Album Film.

Vana Drops Official Music Video For "In Your Name"

Auckland’s pop-tinged industrial metal vanguard, Vana has today released the official music video for her current single “In Your Name,” out now via Sumerian Records. Arriving as the latest visual chapter in Vana’s expanding creative universe, the “In Your Name” video pushes deeper into the lore and world-building first introduced in the official video for “Pray.” Where that clip opened the door into Vana’s dark, devotional world, “In Your Name” steps further inside. Watch the video Below. Stream the track HERE

Since release a month ago, “In Your Name” has already surpassed 500,000 streams, continuing the momentum behind Vana’s first wave of music for Sumerian Records. The track follows “Pray,” which has amassed over 3.7 million streams on Spotify alone and 672,000 YouTube views and counting.

Speaking on the track, Vana previously shared:

“Falling in love is painful. Where there is equal love, there will inevitably be equal loss. Sometimes you fall in love even when it hurts you. Sometimes, loving someone you know is bad for you hurts less than grieving the loss of that love.

“In Your Name” demonstrates how far some would go in the name of love, no matter how toxic that love may be.”

Adding further context to today’s video release, Vana goes on to share

“The ‘In Your Name’ music video lives in that space where love and grief become indistinguishable.  It explores the aftermath of love and when it decays. The video explores the anger and lingering tenderness that come with loss how we try to bury pain instead of facing it and how it inevitably resurfaces.’

The video lands as Vana’s first US headline run, The Lady In Red Tour, continues to build serious heat across North America. The tour has already sold over 15,000 tickets including sold out shows in Atlanta, Orlando, Philadelphia, New York, Washington DC, Boston, Cleveland, Chicago, Kansas City, Denver, Portland, Sacramento, Anaheim, Phoenix and Dallas as well as festival appearances on Warped Tour (DC, LB, Orlando), Louder Than Life Festival, Knotfest Mexico & is featured on the 2027 Shiprocked cruise lineup.

Having already amassed over 85 million streams across platforms, nearly 1 million Spotify monthly listeners, and a combined social following of over 1.2 million across TikTok and Instagram, Vana is fast establishing herself as one of alternative music’s most compelling new voices. With “In Your Name,” she sharpens the edges of a world that is growing darker, bigger, and more fully realised with every release.

Drawing influence from Pierce the Veil, Sleeping With Sirens, Bring Me The Horizon, Brakence, and Chase Atlantic, Vana's music is equally informed by gothic literature, Lovecraftian horror, fantasy role-playing games like Baldur's Gate 3, and fragrance descriptions on niche perfume forums. She co-produces all her music with Vincent Ernst of Magnolia Park, crafting a sonic world as lore-driven and visually ambitious as it is sonically uncompromising.

A passionate advocate for inclusion, mental health awareness, and female empowerment in male-dominated spaces, Vana uses her platform to create a safe space for women, LGBTQ+ audiences, and anyone who's ever felt like an outsider. Her debut album, arriving fall 2026 via Sumerian Records, will introduce a dystopian fantasy world rooted in dark femininity, villainy, and the perspective of the misunderstood.

CARNIFEX Sign To Sumerian Records & Drop New Single “ROSES AND ROTTING CORPSES”

Southern California deathcore titans Carnifex have officially signed to Sumerian Records, marking the beginning of a powerful new chapter for one of extreme music’s most enduring forces. To celebrate the announcement, the band have released their brand new single, “Roses and Rotting Corpses,” stream the single HERE and watch the music video Below

For nearly two decades, Carnifex have occupied the darker edge of American deathcore, building a catalogue defined by punishing heaviness, blackened atmosphere and a visual world steeped in death, horror and the occult. Emerging from Southern California in 2005, Carnifex were seminal in shaping the genre’s first wave and have remained at its pinnacle since.

With “Roses and Rotting Corpses,” Carnifex open the door on their next era. The track arrives with the weight and menace fans expect, but there is a renewed sense of intent behind it, a sharpened vision that pulls the band’s apocalyptic heaviness further into darkness while setting the stage for what comes next.

Speaking on the signing and new single, the band shares:

“We’ve entered a new era of Carnifex, and I couldn’t be happier to do it with Sumerian Records. Carnifex and the team at Sumerian have parallel histories going back nearly two decades, so to finally be working together on what will arguably be our best album is an incredible feeling. Our new song ‘Roses & Rotting Corpses’ is just the beginning of this next chapter.”

For Carnifex, the move signals more than a label change. It marks a fresh creative phase for a band that continues to honour deathcore’s roots while expanding its atmosphere, extremity and emotional scope.

Known for their visceral live performances and relentless global touring history, Carnifex have become a fixture across death metal, black metal, metalcore and hardcore lineups, bringing their chaotic, emotionally charged sound to stages around the world. From packed clubs to major festival crowds, the band’s live presence remains one of the clearest expressions of what has kept them vital for two decades.

Carnifex are currently touring the US on the Chaos & Carnage Tour with Bodysnatcher, 200 Stab Wounds, Ingested, Gates To Hell, and Bodybox and will be playing Welcome To Rockville this weekend and Sonic Temple on May 14th. Remaining dates below. Tickets available HERE.

ABOUT CARNIFEX

Since emerging from the sun-scorched depths of Southern California in 2005, Carnifex have remained one of extreme music’s most uncompromising forces, a band that helped define deathcore’s first wave and has spent two decades pushing well beyond it. Blending blackened atmosphere, relentless aggression and emotionally charged songwriting, Carnifex have built a body of work that turns darkness into catharsis for a global audience.

That legacy runs through landmark releases including Dead in My Arms, Hell Chose Me, Die Without Hope, Slow Death, World War X and Necromanteum, each one pushing the band further into cinematic, melodic and blackened territory without sacrificing the crushing intensity that made them genre staples in the first place. Their music pairs apocalyptic heaviness with themes of grief, anxiety, isolation and survival, forging a connection with fans that runs far deeper than shock value or brutality alone.

Known for their devastating live performances and relentless touring history, Carnifex have become a pillar of modern extreme music, sharing stages worldwide with acts across death metal, black metal, metalcore and hardcore while headlining sold out tours and major festivals across the globe. Whether in intimate clubs or massive festival crowds, the band’s live presence remains visceral, chaotic and emotionally unfiltered.

Now entering a new era in 2026, Carnifex continue to expand the scope of what deathcore can be. With new a new label partner in Sumerian Records, new music on the horizon and a sharpened creative vision, the band stands as both torchbearers and innovators, honouring the genre’s roots while pushing its atmosphere, emotion and extremity into darker and more ambitious territory than ever before.

For Carnifex, heaviness has never been just about sound. It is about confronting the darkest parts of existence head on and forging something powerful enough to survive them.
