Black Coast Release New Track + Official Music Video "Drown Out" via Papercut Recordings

Stoke-on-Trent, UK's Black Coast have today released their poignant new single "Drown Out" and the official music video (via Papercut Recordings). The stripped-down, acoustic-driven ballad uncovers a new facet of the grunge-nu-metalcore quintet, blending raw vocals with crystal-clear production. When asked about the inspiration behind the track, guitarist Scott Pinnington shared:

"I wrote this song musically and I explained to our singer Charlie about how I was feeling at the time. I’ve suffered with an eating disorder all my life, and last year I hit rock bottom with it. I didn't want to be here anymore, and felt like I was losing my life being succumbed by the anxiety and depression of living with it. Drowning out the white noise and being in a different state of mind was what I constantly tried to do…to take myself out of my mind. I hope that this song resonates with those who may find themselves either in similar shoes, or understand that state of mind or being, and understand they're not alone.

ABOUT BLACK COAST

Black Coast are a Grunge / Nu-Metalcore band from Stoke-on-Trent, England. Formed in January 2016 by guitarists Scott Pinningtonand Joe Mayer, the lineup was completed by Jack Beardsall (bass), Matty Clark (drums), and Charlie Hewitt (vocals).

After nine years of growth and touring the globe together, Joe Mayer played his final show with the band on 20th December 2025 at a sold-out hometown headline show at The Underground. Two days later, Black Coast announced the permanent addition of Alex Huzar(Forager, Orion), who had previously joined the band as a touring guitarist on the Silly Goose UK headline run.

Rooted in hardcore grooves from the outset, Black Coast have always worn their love of 90s grunge on their sleeves. Over time, their sound has evolved into a heavier, sharper, and more refined force by balancing raw aggression with melody and atmosphere. Lyrically, the band connect deeply with audiences through themes of personal struggle, introspection, mental health, and the challenge of navigating emotional barriers in a relentlessly paced world.

Black Coast released their debut album Outworld on 19th November 2021, with Sam Bloor at Lower Lane Studios helming the recording and production. The record marked a clear turning point from the band’s roots: broader dynamics, increased confidence in blending melody with heaviness, and their most personal songwriting to date.

In April 2023, the band self-released their self-titled EP, once again working with Bloor on production duties. Tracks such as Chains and Mercy built upon the foundations of Outworld, yet showcased further growth in both production quality, songwriting maturity and emotional depth.

More recently, Black Coast have continued to release new material with Bloor, including Hopeless and Without You, expanding lyrically on recurring themes of internal pressure, mental health, overstimulation, and the pursuit of authentic self-expression. The band are currently writing and recording their sophomore full-length release, the follow-up to Outworld.

Black Coast’s identity centres on heavy, groove-driven riffs, aggressive vocals offset by melodic hooks, and immersive atmospheric textures. Across their catalogue, their songwriting charts a clear emotional evolution, while staying grounded in the formative influences that continue to drive them, including Alice in Chains, Deftones, Limp Bizkit, and Pantera.

Renowned for their raw energy and emotional intensity on stage, Black Coast’s live shows prioritise connection, honesty, and catharsis. Seasoned, resilient, and continually evolving, the band show no signs of slowing down.

EMBERS OF DAWN Unveil Thunderous New Single "Don't Wait To Die"

EMBERS OF DAWN present their explosive new offering, "Don't Wait To Die". The single is a brutally heavy industrial metal anthem incorporating mechanical rhythms and a haunting yet memorable chorus hook, all entwined in a dark atmosphere.

EMBERS OF DAWN explain, "lyrically, the song is about refusing to live passively. It’s a song that confronts the feeling of being haunted—by memories, by technology, by the weight of old patterns—and turns it into a call to action." The band continue, "the lyrics mix ghostly images with burning, destructive energy to remind us that sometimes you have to break the code, burn it all down, and start again. It’s not about waiting for the end; it’s about choosing to live with urgency, clarity, and defiance."

Powerful mechanical rhythms drive the momentum of the track while layers of atmospheric synths provide a sonic contrast. "Don't Wait To Die" demonstrates the band's intensity and reveals influences drawn from the likes of FEAR FACTORY and RAMMSTEIN. EMBERS OF DAWN combine technical precision, fierce aggression and gothic soundscapes across their music in a fusion of characteristics taken from industrial metal, cyber metal, melodic death and gothic metal.

Produced, mixed and mastered by Richii Wainwright, "Don't Wait To Die" features special guest Adrian Erlandsson (AT THE GATES, CRADLE OF FILTH, PARADISE LOST, THE HAUNTED) on drums.

About EMBERS OF DAWN:

Formed in 2022, EMBERS OF DAWN is a genre-defying metal project born out of Jacksonville, Florida and Santa Barbara, California. The band blends elements of industrial, gothic, melodic death metal, and cyber-metal to create a sound that is both cinematic and punishing. Known for their thematic focus on alienation, modern decay, and emotional detachment, EMBERS OF DAWN delivers music that is as introspective as it is aggressive.

The band’s music features cold, mechanical precision layered with dark melodic textures, drawing influence from acts like PAIN, DARK TRANQUILLITY, MINISTRY, FEAR FACTORY, RAMMSTEIN, STATIC-X, ROB ZOMBIE, ARCH ENEMY, and TYPE O NEGATIVE. With each release, they continue to explore new sonic territory, balancing technicality with atmosphere, brutality with beauty.

Their upcoming debut album Infernal Culture features drums by ADRIAN ERLANDSSON (AT THE GATES, CRADLE OF FILTH, PARADISE LOST, THE HAUNTED), adding an explosive edge to their already dynamic sound.

Unverkalt Join Forces with Sakis Tolis of Rotting Christ on New Single “I, The Deceit””

After drawing closer and closer to the edge over the past decade, Unverkalt are plunging into the darkness that’s always awaited below. The post-metal luminaries are still possessed by a cinematic vision, but their new album and first for Season of Mist throws back the velvet curtain in favor of a blackened veil. While wrestling with the weight of our accursed histories, Héréditaire now stands as their heaviest and most heartfelt offering.

Today, Unverkalt are thrilled to release a new video for the song that serves as the emotional pillar of Héréditaire. Fueled by contempt for those content on watching the world burn, “I, The Deceit” radiates strength with support from the band’s Greek brother-in-arms Sakis Tolis of Rotting Christ.

“I enjoy discovering new, unique and compelling music in today’s overwhelming world of information, and I believe I truly succeeded with Unverkalt”, Sakis Tolis says. “This is an exceptional piece of art, worth every minute of listening”.

“‘I, The Deceit’” captures the stillness of those who let the world burn, not out of ignorance, but because it serves them”, Unverkalt vocalist Dimitra Kalavrezou says.

Héréditaire marks a pulse-pounding new direction for Unverkalt. The album’s newfound heaviness traces back to humanity’s deepest and darkest origins. Each song peels back another layer of collective trauma that’s passed down to us through generations like a disease.

“Our new album is a lament for what is far older than our very existence”, Unverkalt’s guitarist and chief composer Themis Ioannou says. “It speaks of what seeps through generations, searching for an answer to one pervasive questions: What do we carry that was never ours?”

Emerging from deep within Héréditaire, “I, The Deceit” burns like an open wound. With each pinprick of strings, a guitar throbs in pain. The entrancing chorus doesn’t come washing down like a wave of relief but as a numbing agent for our impending doom.

“This song carries the weight of human indifference toward the destruction we wreck upon the world”, Kalavrezou says. “That cruelty unfolds not as a distant tragedy, but as something intimate, almost ordinary”.

“I, The Deceit” is fueled by simmering contempt. From deep within its heavy blackened atmosphere comes a gust of blast beats. “The world falls apart / And you just stand there / Watching it burn down”, Sakis Tolis growls with scorn, standing strong amidst the eye of the storm.

Héréditaire might close shrouded in darkness, but a crack of light does appear in the form of Kalavrezou’s enchanting cleans. “I want us to have one heart together”. Like memories, the cry of horns and pleas screamed in Greek stoke the air as the song burns toward its fiery finish, reminding us of all we stand to lose.

“Even in the suffocating stillness, there’s a lingering ache for truth”, Kalavrezou says. “For something uncorrupted. And in that storm, something might still feel true”.

The video for “I, The Deceit” was directed and edited by Themis Ioannou at RAWBITE Studio.

Bodysnatcher Unleash "Violent Obsession" Track and Official Music Video via MNRK Heavy

South Florida deathcore mainstays Bodysnatcher have today released their latest rager, "Violent Obsession"(via MNRK Heavy). The furious track is taken from the band's upcoming new album 'Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home' for release on Friday, April 10.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, guitarist Kyle Carter commented:

'Violent Obsession' to me expresses hate for a person to the extreme. It’s about revenge and what you wish you could do to this person who’s abused you, or taken advantage of you. It’s about obsessively living in that headspace of hatred and wanting them to feel how they made you feel.

ABOUT BODYSNATCHER

Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home is the fourth full-length from Melbourne, FL deathcore outfit Bodysnatcher. It follows 2024’s brutal Will Putney-produced EP, Vile Conduct and serves up another powerful barrage of uncompromising deathcore across 10 incredible tracks that see the four-piece—Kyle Medina (vocals), Kyle Carter (guitar), Kyle Shope (bass) and Chris Whited (drums)—turn the catharsis up as loud and as visceral as it will go.

Of course, that’s nothing new for the band. If you’ve heard Vile Conduct, or any of the three albums that preceded it—2017’s Death of Me, 2020’s The Heavy Void or 2022’s Bleed-Abide—you’ll know this is a band who have always pitted themselves against personal tragedy, who have fought on individual levels against the dark depths of a despair (often inspired by their own experiences of death). Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home is no less harrowing.

“The band has always had roots lyrically in themes of betrayal, overcoming hardship, and moving on from things that happen in life and how to cope with them,” explains Medina. “Ever since the inception of Bodysnatcher, that was the theme. I do think, though, as the band has matured and we as people have grown, so have the ways to dig into the themes more. With more life experience, there are more things to draw from.”

Yet while this is still a viciously personal record, Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home is also a dark reflection of the world at large, and its current dystopia. It doesn’t just dwell on what’s happening, though. It lashes out at the way things are with a terrible, violent rage.

“I’d say a lot of today’s world plays into this album,” says Whited. “We really feel that listeners across the globe can find something to connect with in these songs. There’s a strong sense of retaliation this time around; it feels like choosing violence, fighting back against a world that feels morally lost right now.“

That manifests itself from the very beginning of this record, from the opener The Maker. A sheer assault of rage, noise, and skull-crushing riffs, it multiplies Bodysnatcher’s intensity to a degree that, even by their already intense standards, is off the charts. “'The Maker' is a raw, visceral song,” says Shope. “Bodysnatcher has always been known for unrelenting heaviness, but The Maker seems to be an even darker, more intense direction. Revenge and retaliation are themes we often use in our lyrics, however The Maker is a more direct approach. This song is as heavy as we could make it, and I know the energy is going to be electric when it is played live.

That direct darkness continues throughout the entirety of the next nine songs, from the unforgiving vengeance of Writhe And Coil and Violent Obsession through to the blistering defiance of Blade Between The Teeth and Survive Or Die. The latter features vocals from Scott Vogel, the frontman of hardcore legends Terror, a band very close to Bodysnatcher’s blackened heart. It follows the previous impressive cameo on Vile Conduct by Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta

Scott Vogel is such a pivotal and legendary voice in hardcore and heavy music,” says Medina. “Many of us in the band grew up listening to Terror, so having him appear on a song is huge for us in terms of morale and making the album feel even stronger. We had the idea when we were thinking of another voice come from the hardcore side of where the band draws from; we had Jasta on the previous EP, so we thought of another that is of equal stature, and were able to make it happen.”

Vogel’s appearance shows just how much of a mark Bodysnatcher have made on the scene. But it’s not distracting them from their intent and purpose. In fact, that only seems to have been refined as time has passed. One of the most obvious examples of that here is May Your Memory Rot, an intensely personal song full of spite, venom and trauma about somebody who was very close to Whited. “That song was written the first night we got to the studio,” says the drummer. “It was Father’s Day, which has a lot of baggage for me. I was thinking about my nephew, who lost both parents when my sister overdosed and their gang member father was murdered, and is now being raised by my mom, and my nieces, who lost their dad when my brother passed. That spiral eventually led me to someone who is, without question, one of the worst people I’ve ever known. I was lying in bed angry, so I started writing. That song is pure rage—a very direct fuck you to Mike Whited.” Yet—like the rest of this record—it’s rage with a purpose, rage full of intention, rage with hope still attached to it. Because even though it was born out of incredibly difficult circumstances, both personal and universal, Bodysnatcher’s hope is that people listening to it can find some kind of solace in it alongside all the anger and the rage.

“I won’t lie,” says Carter. “This was a hard album to put together. Every writing session was met with dead ends for months, but we were able to come out the other side with 15 demos and ended with 10 of the best songs we’ve ever made. The album is based around revenge and not bending over for people. I hope others can hear these songs and come to the same realizations we have while putting this together. Life is too short to let people walk on you or take advantage of you. Humans are monsters who betray, abuse, neglect, murder, and sometimes it feels like we’re too comfortable in the Hell that we’re in.”

The Ghoulstars Announce Debut Album 'The Dark Overlords of the Universe'

“Evil teachers, a pet werewolf, cutting class for joyrides in the Cadillac that once belonged to late, great Children of Bodom vocalist and guitarist Alexi “Wildchild” Laiho. Meet The Ghoulstars, a fresh - and frightening - blast from the past. Since rising from beyond the pop-culture graveyard in 2021, this skeletal group of horror punks have captivated press and tantalized crowds in their native haunt of Finland without releasing a single bloody track. Until now!

Today, The Ghoulstars are delighted to announce their blockbuster debut album. The Dark Overlords of the Universe conjures a monstrously catchy mash-up of headbanging heavy metal, fist-pumping punk rock and cult classics. Lead single “Too Ghoul for School” is jam-packed with more antics and attitude than Saturday afternoon detention.

The Dark Overlords of the Universe is a love letter to everything that blew our minds as kids”, The Ghoulstars mastermind Markus “Daddy Ghoul” Laakso says. “The album is loaded with huge riffs, big choruses, surprising curve balls and Easter eggs from old horror, sci-fi and coming-of-age movies. Holding it all together is our sheer joy in watching all the pieces fall into the right place”.

Despite their ghostly appearance, The Ghoulstars are a collection of real talent. The band features an all-star cast of current and former members of death-doom royalty and Season of Mist labelmates Hooded Menace, stoner rockers Thermate and Finland’s Top Ten charting Kuolemanlaakso.

What bands these ghouls together on “Too Ghoul for School” is their straight A acumen for all things ‘80s. Like a crossover TV episode, the song mashes together horror and punk into a Super 8mm high school romp. From the high-risers at the back of the classroom, drummer Toni “Ghoulio” Ronkainen pounds his desk with surf beats. Axeman Laakso impresses the ghoulies with his collection of spooky tremolos and righteous riffs. Markus “Hella houl” Makkonen causes a scene with rough and rowdy bass lines, freeing rebel yeller Arthur “LL Ghoul A” to slip out back. “Don’t give me sass, I’ve got the gas”, Thure howls as the band punch into a chorus that will have nerds, jocks and principals all raising horns.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High, The Lost Boys and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off are some of my favorite movies”, Laakso grins. “I love the cliched characters: the nerds, the jocks, the cool kids and rebels. They remind me of my junior high school days”.

While spun off from Laakso’s real-life schooling, “Too Ghoul for School” recalls the records and VHS tapes that The Ghoulstars hoarded as young skeletons. Mötley Crüe’s pomp, the can’t-do attitude of Twisted Sister and nods to ‘80s coming-of-age comediesall haunt its hallowed grounds. Though whipping around in Alexi Laiho’s Cadillac was beyond the band’s wildest dreams.

“There’s a collector nearby who’s come to possess Alexi’s Cadillac. He let The Ghoulstars borrow it for some after school fun. It was a blast”, Laakso remembers. “We can’t wait to unleash The Dark Overlords of the Universe upon the world. As my long-time collaborator and the album’s producer V. Santura told me: ‘The record is unique, catchy and a really fun listen’”.

The video for “Too Ghoul for School” was directed, filmed and edited by Sam Jamsen.

Manchester music icons INCA BABIES share sultry noir single 'Daniella' New 'Reincarnation' alternative-anthology is out now

Manchester's iconic outfit Inca Babies presents their new single 'Daniella', drifting through smoky swamp-jazz grooves amidst a haunting tapestry of desire, danger, and shadowed city streets. With haunting lyrics and sultry rhythms, the Incas pull listeners into a tense, cinematic world where love and chaos collide.

This is the latest offering from their 'Reincarnation' album, released at the tail-end of 2025 via Black Lagoon Records. With strong cinematic and hypnotic elements, 'Daniella’ brings us through dark city streets, where danger, desire and delirium intertwine.

As foundational pioneers of the early post-punk and deathrock movements, Inca Babies remain a vital cornerstone of the Manchester and UK music scenes to this day. Led by guitarist-vocalist Harry Stafford alongside long-time collaborator Rob Haynes (The Membranes, Goldblade), the band helped define a dark, jagged sonic landscape that remains influential decades later.

During their initial five-year ascent, they amassed a dedicated following through relentless touring, six singles and four albums—every one of which successfully breached the UK Indie Charts. Their status as alternative icons was further cemented by a prestigious run of four BBC John Peel sessions between 1984 and 1988. Since reforming in 2007, Inca Babies have proven they are far from a legacy act, continuing to command respect as elder statesmen of the British underground.

“Daniella” is the third track on 'Reincarnation'. It was re-recorded at 6Db Studios in Salford with  renowned producer Simon ‘Ding’ Archer (The Fall, PJ Harvey), who devoted significant effort to infuse it with a distinctive dub style. The original version was first recorded in 1986 at Cargo Studios for the album 'This Train', which we also released on Black Lagoon Records," says Harry Stafford, who shared recording and mixing duties before mastering by Marco Butcher at Boombox Studio.

"Looking through our back catalogue, it occurred to me that there were tracks that should again be made available in some manner and others that would benefit from reinvention. Last year's 'Ghost Mechanic Nine' album was an opportunity to create new music for our fans, who would like this music in the form of digital downloads and, for the truly hardcore, as a 12” Vinyl Album," says Harry Stafford.

"But it was also a realisation that we could invigorate old tunes. We already had a ‘best of’ compilation in ‘Plutonium', released in 2006, so we embarked upon a new quest, to inject new life into our favourite back catalogue. This whole project was to be an Innovative re-imagining of old tunes: re-invented for contemporary consideration. All of them Re-awakened and 'Re-inca-rnated'."

Inca Babies' journey since their formation in 1983 in Manchester's now-legendary deck-access flats of Hulme was highlighted in the 2024 documentary 'The Making of Ghost Mechanic Nine'. Since reforming, they've released four albums and toured three continents, continuing to explore goth, punk, death-rock and jazz-blues.

Earlier, the Incas shared 'Superior Spectre', a live favourite that was originally included in their 1984 John Peel Session, this song also appeared on their 2014 'Scatter' EP, following the A/B-side singles 'Candy Mountain', with its hypnotic bass line, contemporary groove and electronic sequencing; and 'Two Rails To Nowhere' with itsoriginal 1988 version featuring Inspiral Carpets' Clint Boon and new expanded Gun Club-esque version, featuring guitarist Vincent O'Brien.

The 'Reincarnation' album is out now, available on CD and available everywhere digitally, including SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp.

Modesty Blaise shares 'Carol Mountain', previewing remastered seminal 'Melancholia' album

Bristol-based avant indie pop outfit Modesty Blaise presents a newly remastered version of "Carol Mountain", previewing the remastered 25th Anniversary edition of their seminal album "Melancholia". This expanded collection features newly-restored audio, many outtakes of the original sessions and updated artwork in a fantastic new 3 Disc version. Forthcoming via European label From Lo-Fi To Disco!, this release reflects on the album’s legacy and continued resonance.

The newly-edited video for "Carol Mountain" was created from footage shot when Modesty Blaise played in New York in 2002, when the band was made up of Jonny Collins, David W Brown, Gregory Jones, Clem Courtney and Julien Clapperton.

Modesty Blaise have been around since 1993 in various guises. In that year, they recorded their debut single 'Christina Terrace' with Edwyn Collins at the helm, garnering them immediate success with a live appearance on ITV and inclusion among many end-of-year top music rankings. Other highlights include supporting Robbie Williams at London's O2 Arena, inclusion in a Rough Trade compilation, an ITV company documentary on Jonny Collins, and a BBC Radio session involving seventeen people.

Originally issued as a standalone single, "Carol Mountain" reflects the defining qualities that have given the album its enduring reputation: restraint, atmosphere, and emotional depth. Built around huge productions and slow-burning intensity, the track expands the sonic world of "Melancholia" — immersive, introspective, and quietly affecting.

"Carol Mountain formed one of the main tracks of the whole album. It was recorded in multiple parts and using three different drum kits. It’s inspired by Steven Gaines’ book "Heroes & Villains" about The Beach Boys, and written in about half an hour on a Sunday morning. In contrast to that quick writing process, the recording took months and more than half of the entire recording budget for Melancholia. We got orchestral players from a Bristol orchestra and I found a barbershop quartet to come and record with us", says Jonny Collins.

"'Carol Mountain' was Brian Wilson’s unrequited love, I believe. We know that Brian knew this song well and that Brian’s band played the CD album on their tour bus. That was a great thing, and it sounds even better now."

Originally released on CD and vinyl, "Melancholia" remains a quietly influential work more than two decades after its original release — defined by emotional precision, sonic restraint, and a timeless sense of atmosphere. The 2026 remaster has been completed with a light-touch approach, focused on clarity and depth rather than reinvention. Greater dynamic range and enhanced detail bring new presence to the recording, revealing subtle textures and spatial nuance while preserving the character of the original mix.

'Carol Mountain' is available exclusively via Bandcamp, reflecting the independent spirit of the anniversary campaign by offering listeners a direct connection to the music ahead of the wider streaming release.  On April 24th, the "Melancholia - Remaster" album will be released across all major streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music

SWEDISH POWER METAL WARRIORS BLOODBOUND RELEASE VIDEO FOR "THE NINE CRUSADES" FEATURING BRITTNEY SLAYES OF UNLEASH THE ARCHERS

Having ridden into their latest battle with their eleventh epic full-length Field Of Swords, Swedish power metal warriors BLOODBOUND have released another video single from the album. "The Nine Crusades" is another historically-themed anthem, retelling the titular events in typical BLOODBOUND style: A sweeping blend of melodic and heavy power metal. Joining their conquest is powerhouse vocalist Brittney Slayes of Canadian band UNLEASH THE ARCHERS, dueting with Patrik J. Selleby in a glorious mid-tempo anthem. Not only is "The Nine Crusades" the perfect album closer, but also a powerful herald of what's to come.

BLOODBOUND are currently getting ready to share their new songs live. Starting March 12 in Hamburg, they will be on tour supporting labelmates ANGUS MCSIX, with additional support from Brainstorm. Their run will take them to eleven cities, ending in Eindhoven on March 22. Following, BLOODBOUND will play European festivals, including mountainous Full Metal Mayrhofen, organized by Wacken Open Air, and Alcatraz Festival in Belgium.

Fredrik Bergh about "The Nine Crusades":
"The major part of this song was actually written by myself and Tomas back in 2018, and it was written especially for the band Sabaton! Joakim Brodén from Sabaton liked the rough demo and wanted to work further on this song together with us, but the collaboration never materialized. I have always felt it was a very strong track, so we decided to record the song ourselves for the new album instead. I am super proud of this song. I feel it’s one of the best songs I’ve ever been involved in writing! The song features the great Brittney Slayes from UNLEASH THE ARCHERS, who sings the song as a duet together with Patrik."

Tomas Olsson about "The Nine Crusades":
"This song is a summation of the Crusader era, 1096–1291. During this period nine crusades took place. It is estimated that over 2 million people died."

Brittney Slayes about "The Nine Crusades":
"It is such an honour to be featured on this BLOODBOUND track; I have been a fan of the band for well over a decade so when they approached me about doing some guest vocals of course the answer was a resounding yes! This song is quite different from what we do in UNLEASH THE ARCHERS, and is not at all like my own writing style, so I was excited to be able sing something new and to put my own spin on it. The whole collaboration had been a blast, and I’m glad I was able to make it into the music video as well; it was very nice of them to include me. Hopefully the fans enjoy this song and feel I added something worthwhile to this already amazing band!"

Watch the Lyric Video for "The Nine Crusades" Below:

BLOODBOUND's latest triumphant march impressively illustrates the importance of purpose and perseverance with heroic tales in shining heavy metal armor. Valiant, vigorous, and ultimately victorious: Field Of Swords has come to expand BLOODBOUND’s domination of the scene!

Fredrik Bergh on Field Of Swords: "Field Of Swords is a concept album, a continuation from our last album Tales From The North (2023) which touched upon the subject of the Viking era. On Field Of Swords, we have moved on in history and entered the Middle Ages (after 1066). The concept, in short, is the following: When the Viking Age ended in the year of our Lord 1066, came the long and grim Medieval times. We are extremely excited about the new album and to release it with the backing of the mighty Napalm Records. Music-wise, the new album has a slightly more modern sound, but we canguarantee it includes all the elements BLOODBOUND is known for! It's a diverse record with aggressive songs, epic tracks, and it also contains some of the fastest parts we have written. And on the other hand, we have some slower, majestic songs as well, like, 'The Nine Crusades' where UNLEASH THE ARCHERS' Brittney Slayes duets with Patrik. Field Of Swords has everything you can ask for!"

Get Your Copy of Field Of Swords NOW!

BLOODBOUND's first release with Napalm Records adds another 11 captivating battle hymns to their repertoire. A diverse record with aggressive songs and epic tracks alike, their eleventh album also contains some of the band’s fastest material ever written. The opening title track, "Field Of Swords", immediately storms into BLOODBOUND’s signature sound, braiding stories of glory with a sweeping blend of melodic and heavy power metal. The dominant "As Empires Fall" follows the crusaders east and powerfully depicts said glory in epic battle in contrast with sacrifices made on the way. "Defenders Of Jerusalem" cleverly expands on the topic of loss, leaving listeners to wonder which side is holding their heads up high in the face of imminent defeat. Catchy flutes have the heroes take heart in "The Code Of Warriors" to guide them into the "Land Of The Brave" and Field Of Swordsto new heights at the same time. "Light In The Sky" further illustrates BLOODBOUND’s battle scars turned electrifying sound, while the mature "Teutonic Knights" opens up the bleak reality of the tragedy that undoubtedly accompanies this battle-torn era of history. Yet, "Forged In Iron", "Pain and Glory", and "Born to be King" hold their ground as equally unforgettable tunes, all leading up to the brilliant finale: Brittney Slayes of powerhouse Canadian band UNLEASH THE ARCHERS joins "The Nine Crusades" as another valuable fighter to lead Field Of Swords to greatness.

VOXX Unleash New Single “Someone’s Watching” — A Dark, Electrifying Anthem for Modern Rock Fans

" Watched. Wired. Awake. We Rise."

The rising rock band VOXX returns with a gripping new single, “Someone’s Watching,” a powerful and atmospheric track that blends intensity, emotion, and cinematic edge into one unforgettable listening experience.

With “Someone’s Watching,” VOXX dives deep into themes of paranoia, pressure, and the unseen weight of modern life, delivering a song that feels both personal and universally relatable. Driven by thunderous instrumentation, haunting melodies, and commanding vocals, the track showcases the band’s evolution and their ability to craft music that resonates long after the final note fades.

“Someone’s Watching” captures the raw energy VOXX has become known for while pushing their sound into darker, more immersive territory. The single balances heavy rock dynamics with melodic depth, creating a sonic atmosphere that pulls listeners in and refuses

to let go.

VOXX is a high-energy rock force blending modern alternative grit with hard-hitting metal intensity. Fronted by Regis Lima, VOXX delivers powerful vocals, driving guitars, and anthemic hooks that hit both the heart and the adrenaline.

Behind the punch is Sterling on drums, laying down explosive, precision-driven rhythms that power every track. Jacob Bageard on guitars brings razor-sharp riffs and soaring melodies, while Kaylynn Sammy on bass locks in the groove with deep, commanding low-end that gives VOXX its signature weight and pulse.

Known for electrifying live performances and emotionally charged originals like “Someone Is Watching,” VOXX fuses raw vulnerability with unapologetic strength — tackling themes of pressure, betrayal, resilience, and rising above the noise.

Rooted in the Tampa Bay rock scene and building a loyal following, VOXX isn’t just a band — it’s a voice. Loud. Fearless. Unfiltered.

DREAMS OF GRAY Venture Into Heavy Melodic Waters In "Across The Endless Sea"

DREAMS OF GRAY's "Across The Endless Sea" is powerful with high intensity while also incorporating catchy chorus vocal melodies, and elements from other subgenres such as characteristics of black metal guitars. Accompanied with a cinematic lyric video, "Across The Endless Sea" considers the interconnected nature of our lives. We are all on our individual paths through life and while some connections are long-lasting, others may only be fleeting.

On the lyrical theme, vocalist and guitarist Luis Rivera explains, "the song glimpses the idea of the interconnectedness of life. You are not just you; you are connected to others, some of whom are still here, while others have departed. You, too, are on a journey. You, too, are a connection for others."

DREAMS OF GRAY's newest EP, A Beginning, marks a new chapter of sonic exploration leading further into melodic realms across extreme subgenres. Led by Luis Rivera, the project's sound draws from a wide array of melodic death and doom, along with elements of thrash and traditional heavy metal. On the EP Rivera was joined by Maria Kosma on bass, with drums on "A Beginning" performed by Nicole Trinchero, and drum programming on "Beyond the Sky" and "A Beginning" by Scott Elliot.

Produced by Luis Rivera, "A Beginning" was recorded, mixed and masted by Josh Middleton at Josh Middleton Studio. "Beyond the Sky" and "Across the Endless Sea" both recorded at Chernobyl Audio Studio and mixed and masted by Scott Elliot.

About DREAMS OF GRAY:
DREAMS OF GRAY was devised by Chicago, IL, based musician and composer Luis Rivera (ABOLISHER) in 2022. In the following year, the project released their critically acclaimed debut EP The World After. DREAMS OF GRAY seeks to draw from the wealth and breadth of metal subgenres to create something distinctive and memorable. The project enables exploration of often dark themes notably, of loss, grief, personal struggles and the shadowy aspects of wider society.

The release of A Beginning in late 2025 saw DREAMS OF GRAY hone their sound further through a developed compositional style that doesn't restrict or confine their creativity. Inspiration is found in the likes of PARADISE LOST, AMORPHIS, IN FLAMES and DARK TRANQUILITY. DREAMS OF GRAY's music intentionally ebbs and flows dynamically, containing fierce riffs and high energy, as well as a deep focus on melodies and vocal delivery to produce something truly engaging and immersive.

Beyond Creation Return with New Single “Reverence”

From the beginning, it was clear that Beyond Creation possessed a special aura. On their debut album, the Montréal four-piece concocted the next progressive evolution in technical death metal by splicing together classic brutality and prog’s insatiable curiosity with a refreshing knack for melody. Now, ahead of their fifteenth anniversary tour in celebration of The Aura, the Independent Music and Lit Music Award winners and Canadian Grammy nominees are releasing their first new song in eight years.

Beyond Creation are thrilled to announce their new single, “Reverence”. While burdened by heavy expectations and the ashes of doubt, like a phoenix, the band rise in a brilliant display of strength and spirit.

“Our new single explores the fragile line between clarity and illusion, between introspection and insanity, where the search for meaning can either elevate us or consume us”, Beyond Creation’s vocalist, guitarist and lyricist Simon Girard says. “But the truth is simple and powerful: the moment you stop comparing and start focusing on who you truly are and what you genuinely want to express, something beautiful happens. You create from a place of honesty. You grow with purpose. What you achieve becomes something you can be proud of, because it is unique, real and entirely your own”.

Like all creative minds, “Reverence” begins uninhibited. Girard and fellow guitarist Kevin Chartré trade notes freely, responding to one another with the grace and understanding that comes from playing in a band together for more than 15 years. But this moment of elation proves painfully brief. “Thrown into a sea of endless thoughts”, Girard screams as chugging riffs bring the song crumbling under the weight of expectations. “A quiet war within my core”. Pushed to a breaking point, the band headbang as if trapped inside their own metal prison.

“With social media, we are constantly measuring ourselves against others”, Girard says. “The more we compare, the further we drift from our true selves and our authentic voice. We are lost amidst stress and insecurity. We feel that our ideas lack value, that our techniques are insufficient and our identity is somehow flawed”.

But even though “Reverence” is tormented by outside voices, Beyond Creation remain a guiding force for progressive technical death metal. In the wake of the song’s crushing breakdown, drummer Philippe Boucher leads the band toward the light at the end of its maze-like tunnels with the command of his cymbals and marching snare. “From the abyss, my body will rise / my soul fill fly / my spirit will shine”, Girard growls with renewed conviction. As bassist Hugo Doyon-Karout gently lifts the coda to a higher plane of existence with mind-bending runs, Beyond Creation’s aura burns brighter than ever.

“Once we stop with the comparisons, we free ourselves to grow”, Girard concludes. “We flourish in ways we never thought possible”.

The video for “Reverence” was directed and produced by Francois Bertrand and Simon Girard.

"We’re more than impatient to finally share this song with you. The song is about living in that tension between patience and desire: holding on, trusting the process, and being ready when the moment finally arrives. We hope you feel that same anticipation with us, and that this track makes you just as impatient to hear what’s coming next," Calanna reveals. "Impatient defines the direction we want to take with A Cold Paradise. This is the sound, the energy, and the path we’ve been aiming for from the start."

About A COLD PARADISE:

A COLD PARADISE is a modern alternative metal band founded in 2025 by Antonio Calanna (ALL FOR METAL vocalist until 2026), signed to Perception – A Division of Reigning Phoenix Music. The project was born from a desire to emphasize atmosphere, melody, and emotional depth within heavy music, without compromising its force. Rooted in genuine feeling, A COLD PARADISE builds its sound from the inside out, letting emotion guide both songwriting and production. Heavy riffs collide with expressive melodies, cinematic atmospheres, and carefully woven electronic elements that shape the emotional arc of each song. The band works with a defined collective identity: music, lyrics, and visuals all feed into the same artistic world, where storytelling, contrast, and emotional weight matter as much as the breakdowns. Living in the tension between vulnerability and force, A COLD PARADISE blends modern metal and rock with immersive textures to create a dynamic, evocative, and unmistakably human sound.

REMASTERED ON 180G VINYL AND CD WITH LIMITED BUNDLES SIGNED BY THE FOUR ORIGINAL SURVIVING MEMBERS

Employing a dazzling mix of glam rock, hard rock, and progressive rock, Angel's outrageous, white-satin-heavy image and equally over-the top stage shows, making them one of the more colorful arena rock bands of the mid-'70s and early '80s. Discovered by KISS bass player, Gene Simmons, the group issued their eponymous debut album in 1975, which hewed closer to prog rock than the glam pop that would be on future endeavors like White Hot (1978) and Sinful (1979). The group released a total of five studio albums and one live album before going their separate ways in 1981. The band officially re-formed in 2019 with original members, Punky Meadows and Frank DiMino, and released their comeback studio effort, Risen, later that October and followed up with Once Upon A Time in 2023.

The group's sophomore album Helluva Band was originally released in 1976 for Casablanca Records with a line-up comprising of Frank DiMino (vocals), Punky Meadows (guitar), Gregg Giuffria (keyboards), Mickie Jones (bass), and Barry Brandt (drums). Helluva Band was a strong and quick follow up to their classic 1975 debut and featured the epic “The Fortune” alongside heavier tracks like “Mirrors” and “Feelin’ Right”.

Watch “Feelin’ Right” Below:

Now to celebrate the 50th Anniversary this classic has been remastered and is being released on both a 6-panel CD digipak and on 180G vinyl in two amazing Limited-Edition Colors with liner notes by journalist Dave Reynolds. SEPULTURA - Announce Farewell Release 'The Cloud of Unknowing' EP + Reveal Track 'The Place'

As the curtain falls on an extraordinary career spanning more than four decades, SEPULTURA are preparing to close their final chapter at the end of this year. With over 40 years of band history, 14 gold records, and performances across more than 80 countries, SEPULTURA stand as Brazil’s uncompromising emissary to the global stage and one of today’s most influential metal bands.

Currently bringing their pioneering sound to audiences worldwide on the 'Celebrating Life Through Death' farewell tour, the question has arisen: how should SEPULTURA mark the end of such a monumental journey? The answer came naturally: By capturing a final creative moment and preserving it for posterity.

The result is The Cloud of Unknowing EP, set to be released on April 24th via Nuclear Blast Records.

The Cloud of Unknowing EP is one of SEPULTURA’s most diverse and emotionally resonant releases. Across four tracks, the EP serves as a bittersweet farewell, showcasing the full spectrum of the band’s creativity, reflecting both the ferocity and depth that have defined SEPULTURA’s legacy.

SEPULTURA have released EP track 'The Place', which vocalist Derrick Green sheds some light on:

“This song deals with immigrants who have come to a place seeking refuge and start a new life.

Once assimilated into a false sense of security and relentless propaganda they began to act out against what they hate about themselves. The transition begins to escape from the self hatred and the lashing out against people who believed in the same ideas. I feel the lyrics truly follow the transitions of the song. Starting with disappointment and arriving at anger.”

Season of Mist Signs The Ghoulstars

Despite their ghostly appearance, The Ghoulstars are a collection of real talent. Axeman Markus “Daddy Ghoul” Laakso and goose-bumping drummer Toni “Ghoulio” Ronkainen shared a past life together in the Top Ten charting Finnish death-doom band Kuolemanlaakso. Bassist Markus “Hella Ghoul” Makkonen formerly haunted the low end for Season of Mist labelmates Hooded Menace while moonhowler Arthur “LL Ghoul A” Thure croons for the stoner rockers Thermate.

Over the last four years, The Ghoulstars have captivated press and tantalized crowds in their native haunt of Finland without releasing a single bloody track.  Until now! The skeletal supergroup of horror punks are about to raise the curtain from their monstrously catchy debut album, which mashes together everything that blew their minds as kids: surf beats, headbanging metal riffs, shout-along punk rock choruses and B-movie horror.

“We can’t wait to unleash our delightful horrors upon the world with Season of Mist, a revered label with a sharp eye for unique talent”, Laakso says. “Our upcoming debut album is a love letter to ‘80s aesthetics, B-movies, huge riffs, big choruses, punk rock, metal, surprising curveballs and the sheer joy of all the pieces falling into the right places. As my long-time collaborator and the album’s mixing engineer V. Santura of the mighty Triptykon told me: ‘The record is unique, catchy and a really fun listen’. Move over, Rover, and let the Ghouls take over!”

Watch the teaser for the fun and freaky ode to ‘80s coming-of-age campus comedies “Too Ghoul for School”.

Haste the Day Drop "Liminal" Visualizer (Feat. Garrett Russell from Silent Planet)

HASTE THE DAY, the metalcore band that made a scene splash in the '00s, returned in 2024 with the video for the new song "Burn." They also appeared at Furnace Fest that year. It was their first music in nearly a decade. But they didn't stop there. Not a chance!  Earlier this month, the beloved band announce its new album DISSENTER will arrive May 1 on Solid State Records. It's their first album since 2015. Pre-order it here

They share the visualizer for new single "Liminal," featuring Silent Planet's Garrett Russell. Watch it below

"'Liminal' expands on the melodic, aggressive metalcore foundation of the record while leaning into the punk and hardcore influences that shaped our early sound," the band explains. "Featuring soaring melodic guitar leads and a powerful guest vocal from Garrett Russell of Silent Planet, the song feels both familiar and forward-moving — drawing a clear line from Attack of the Wolf King into the present. Lyrically, 'Liminal' explores the tension of being stuck between two truths, caught in a space where movement feels impossible."

In other HTD news, the band will perform at Louder Than Life in Louisville, Kentucky this September.

Haste The Day conjure the sound of coming full circle. The Indiana-bred band rekindles the spark at the heart of their signature style by sharpening the edges, tightening the melodies, and amplifying the scope with cinematic ambition. Haste The Day have clung to their integrity since initially emerging at the turn of the century. Following Burning Bridges [2004] and When Everything Falls [2005], Stephen made his formal debut as the group's frontman on Pressure The Hinges [2007]. The band unleashed a trio of fan favorite offerings, namely Dreamer [2008], the seminal Attack Of The Wolf King [2010], and Coward [2015]. The latter marked their second straight Top 20 entry on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart and second Top 10 on the Hard Rock Albums Chart. Along the way, they toured with everyone from Hollywood Undead to Norma Jean. Despite going dormant in 2016, they amassed tens of millions of streams and continued to resonate with an ever-expanding audience. As such, their 2023 reunion gig at the sold-out Furnace Fest was met with overwhelming enthusiasm. Returning with their first full-length release in eleven years, the musicians tap into who they were and push forward together on their seventh LP, Dissenter [Solid State].
