The latest album from Enterprise Earth is out now

Enterprise Earth has unleashed upon the world their hotly-anticipated new album 'Death: An Anthology'.

In celebration of the news, the band shared their intensely brutal yet deeply poignant latest offering "Blood and Teeth" along with the accompanying music video. Speaking about "Blood and Teeth", the band shared:

"'Blood and Teeth' lays out a gut-wrenching story of poisonous attachment, a cycle of self-harm and submission to the tragic realization of how much pain one can put themselves through for the sake of another’s admiration. Musically, this is the most elaborate song on 'Death: An Anthology'.

Moving through a clean piano intro, to blazing leads over a catchy groove, to death metal riffage, to a catchy metalcore adjacent chorus, to a dare we say sexy bridge, only to unleash the filthiest breakdown of the album at the end. The video is a direct visual representation of this and we hope it evokes an emotional response similar to the ones felt in its production."

When asked about the album, guitarist, backing vocalist, and producer Gabe Mangold commented:

"I consider 'Death: An Anthology' to be our most expressive, intense, diverse, and finest work that Enterprise Earth has ever achieved so far and I hope I can say that with every body of music that we release. This album was SO much fun to create from every facet and while there are many peaks of brutality and valleys of melodic expressiveness, I hope the listener experiences the same emotions while listening that we did while creating: sheer enjoyment, empowerment, unity, catharsis, and so much more. Drown in Abyss, let it take us."

Enterprise Earth will be touring with Inferi, Crown Magnetar, and Tracheotomy starting March 11th. Tickets available now!

EXHORDER RELEASES NEW ALBUM, 'DEFECTUM OMNIUM,'

NOLA thrash legends EXHORDER have released their long-anticipated new album, Defectum Omnium, today with Nuclear Blast Records. Sonically unrelenting, the band’s 4th record in a career spanning nearly 4 decades is classic EXHORDER. Revisiting their early influences of punk, hardcore and thrash, the band self-produced 12 merciless tracks that sound as vital as when they  first carved their groove in metal in 1985. Featuring crushing songs like ‘Year of the Goat’ and ‘Forever and Beyond Despair’ and ominous cover artwork by Travis Smith (Katatonia, Opeth), Defectum Ominum finds EXHORDER at the top of their game with one of the year’s most vicious records.

Vocalist/guitarist Kyle Thomas has said of the new record:

It’s been quite a journey for Exhorder since the 2019 release of Mourn the Southern Skies. Lineup changes as well as the 2020-2021 pandemic and lockdown presented hurdles that weren’t easy to overcome. But we persevered, kept our heads down and went to work with intense focus and real goals. One of those goals was to bring our fourth full length album to our fan base. Defectum Omnium is a collaborative effort in songwriting, much as it was in the early days of Exhorder. We produced it ourselves, as we felt no need or desire to bring in anyone from the outside based upon our shared vision. It was also important to us not only to continue the natural progression this band has been in since the early 90’s, but to put a foot back into our roots. The influence punk and hardcore had on this band from getting our start in the New Orleans punk rock scene has a strong presence. We’ve also made sure to keep plenty of our thrash roots as well in our songwriting process. But we have also managed to keep our doom roots alive, which first surfaced on the song (Cadence of) the Dirge back in 1992. In fact, on one new song we have guest appearances by Rick Wartell and Bruce Franklin from Trouble, and they absolutely killed it!

From the time that we began pre-production until the actual release date, we can promise you that every bit of Defectum Omnium was crafted with great care, and we are really excited about it! Our goal was to make an album that WE loved and gives the experience of a journey.

With today’s record release, EXHORDER has unveiled a new video for their next standout track, and album opener ‘Wrath of Prophecies.’

Thomas adds on the new single:

Our third single, Wrath of Prophecies, is the opening track on Defectum Omnium. It is the oldest song title on the album, dating back to 2009. However, it was never truly completed as a song, though it did have its own line of merchandise at the time. Lyrically, it is a nod to the prophecies of Nostradamus, which were much more prevalent topics at that time based upon what many people felt were predicted end times. Regardless, it fit right into the overall theme of despair and hopelessness that Defectum Omnium embodies. Musically, it is a fierce and unrelenting thrasher. With the vocals committing to the song as soon as the entire band kicks in, “Wrath of Prophecies” grabs you by the throat right out of the gates. It is obvious and evident that there is something the listener must pay attention to, or turn away and play ostrich. Lacing melodies in with venomous, spitting aggression, this song is a feature example on this album of our commitment to returning to our roots, and not just the punk ones.

About EXHORDER:

Formed in 1986, EXHORDER’s journey has proven exciting, yet tumultuous. After a twenty-seven-year absence following their final Roadrunner Records release in 1992, EXHORDER re-entered the game with an album considered by many to be a contender for the "Best Comeback Album" category. The band released Mourn the Southern Skies in October of 2019 through Nuclear Blast Records. Fraught with euphoric peaks and crippling valleys throughout its existence, lineup changes, and the 2020-2021 pandemic, EXHORDER has since clawed back through the muck to prepare yet another album to add to the discography. In the spring of 2024, EXHORDER presents yet again via Nuclear Blast their fourth full-length recording, Defectum Omnium,  the Latin phrase for "The Failure of All". Singer Kyle Thomas wryly explains that the album title is representative of the current state of affairs that the world is in. "The world is a dumpster fire, and we are all complicit.", he explains. "People have been talking about, ‘...viruses killing us off, blah-blah, blah...', when in actuality WE are the virus to the Earth. Mother Nature is simply trying to shake off the fleas, and her ‘viruses’ are the antibodies combating US. Earth will survive, and we will join the dinosaurs, wooly mammoths, and saber-toothed tigers soon enough in her history."

Produced by EXHORDER and mixed by Jens Bogren, Defectum Omnium puts a foot back into the roots of the band's inception. The scales have tipped favorably towards the presence of punk and thrash more so than on Mourn the Southern Skies. Tracks like ‘Wrath of Prophecies’, ‘Forever and Beyond Despair’, and ‘Sedition’ are what EXHORDER comes by most honestly when referring to their beginnings. There is also a strong presence of doom influence, as always. ‘The Tale of Unsound Minds’ and the haunting ‘Defectum Omnium/Stolen Hope’ will raise utter despair from the depths of your soul. The thick New Orleans grooves EXHORDER has been known for beating out since day one are still undeniable, and they stand out in tracks like ‘Year of the Goat’, ‘Under the Gaslight’, and ‘Three Stages of Truth/Lacing the Well’.

One trait about Defectum Omnium that deserves to be pointed out is that it is more of a journey and experience than just a regurgitated selection of songs on autopilot. With peaks and valleys much like a roller coaster ride, one listener described the album as having "...a little something for everyone.". As EXHORDER has always been hard to classify by one genre, the album is loaded with heaviness, aggression, speed, and venom. It also has an equal presence of mystery, melody, and harmony, and vacillates between darkness and light. Themes that dart back and forth between surviving oppression, despair, revolution, and brittle hope take you through the band's madness by way of the musical path that they have forged. With touring plans underway in support of Defectum Omnium, EXHORDER finds itself poised to finally achieve the brass ring potential that has always seemed to be just out of their reach.

Portland psych-rockers SUN ATOMS honor Leonard Cohen on 'Tower of Song (in the key of JAMC)' & announce tour dates

"Sun Atoms is a tripped-out opus packed with droning electronics, shimmering guitars, dayglo melodies and a deep, whispered delivery" ~ Brooklyn Vegan

"Swirling keyboards, chiming psych tinged licks and the foreboding attitude dashed vocals craft a foreboding and bristling concoction, it has echoes of the Mission, The Sisters of Mercy or the propulsive sound of Leonard Cohen‘s 'I'm Your Man’ album" ~ God is in the TV Zine

"Ebbing and flowing like Love and Rockets under a Spiritualized raga; the spirit of Bowie’s classic Moonage Daydream echoes through the band’s astral fabric” ~ First Look

"Artistic leap into an enthralling intersection of post-punk, indie rock and new wave... a gateway for your consciousness to coast into fascinating sonic realms" ~ Spill Magazine

“Sun Atoms bend and blend through luminary influences Leonard Cohen, The Cure, Moon Duo and Nick Cave in an amalgamation that combines psychedelic, dark wave, and post-modern pop” ~ The Big Takeover

"Sun Atoms fuses styles and sounds like a long lost Basquiat painting found in deep space among comets and stars” ~ Maximum Volume

Portland alternative pop / postmodern rock outfit Sun Atoms presents a unique fuzzed-out tribute to iconic songwriter Leonard Cohen with 'Tower of Song (in the key of JAMC)', released as the flipside of their new 'Ceiling Tiles' single.

Released via Little Cloud Records digitally and on 7" vinyl and mixed by the iconic Jagz Kooner (Massive Attack, Primal Scream, Oasis, Garbage), this single is the first taste of the band's sophomore album (out ths summer). The accompanying video, produced by Bradley Tuazon, follows ghosts on a velvety caper through an endless maze through streets and a 113,000+ square foot state-of-the-art concert venue, the band members appearing like rare birds in the roles of madcap non-conformist odd fellows living outside of the lines.

Sun Atoms is made up of bassist Peter G. Holmström (The Dandy WarholsPete International Airport), vocalist Jsun Atoms (The Upsidedown, Daydream Machine), multi-instrumentalist June Kang, Mars de Ponte (LoveBomb Go-Go), L.A. drummer Eric Rubalcava and Boise native Derek Spencer Longoria-Gomez(Hi Hazel).

2021 brought the band's debut album 'Let There Be Light', also produced by Holmström and mixed by the iconic Stephen Street (Blur, The Smiths, The Cranberries), involving performances by the likes of The Vandelles' Jasno Swarez, The Black Angels’ Alex Maas and Gregg Williams (Sheryl Crow, Blitzen Trapper).

"When I was a child, I saw a being made of light climb through my bedroom window, they stood at the foot of my bed and reached out to touch my foot," explains Jsun Atoms. "Mesmerizing and haunting, much like the new Sun Atoms single 'Ceiling Tiles', which reveals a story of characters living under a faux sky being manipulated to make it appear that the stars are aligning, when in fact, above this tiled Truman Show, the stars are doing just that. The characters in the song go about their day-to-day dance while the globe they are spinning on becomes an eye."

Sun Atoms kicked off 2024 by playing three sold-out shows at Portland’s historic Revolution Hall, opening for Dinosaur Jr., which presented the perfect chance to shoot their new video. With its long stairways and iconic brick facade as the ideal backdrop for this monochromatic video, here unfolds a mysterious tale of characters living between worlds and connected by Jean Cocteau’s famously mirrored portal.

Sun Atoms has also played shows with Modest Mouse, Fishbone, Besnard Lakes, The Veldt and New Candys, as well as performing at Seattle’s Freakout Fest and Portland’s Lose Yr Mind Fest with Allah Las, Broncho and Night Beats.

The 'Ceiling Tiles' single is available on beautiful 7" vinyl and from fine digital platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. Sun Atoms are touring the West Coast in March-April, kicking off with Treefort Festival, where they join Ty Segall, A Place To Bury Strangers, Neko Case and Built To Spill. Tickets for this tour are now available to order.

KMFDM touring USA in support of new 23rd studio album ‘LET GO’, marking illustrious 40-year career

Iconic music mavericks KMFDM have kicked off their month-long 20-date US tour, launched in support of their new 'LET GO' album, recently released via Metropolis Records. Celebrating 40 years of conceptual continuity in grand style, KMFDM is doin’ it again, rising up lean and mean.

'LET GO' marks the group’s 23rd studio album, with the core lineup of Sascha “Käpt’n K” Konietzko, Lucia Cifarelli, Andy Selway and Andee Blacksugarpresenting their signature onslaught of pulse-pounding rhythms, scorching electronics, blistering guitars, and vocals full of grit, growl, and grind addressing the social, political, and cultural ills of a world in perpetual turmoil.

The album arrives hot on the heels of the banger 'LET GO' and the latest single 'AIRHEAD' with its accompanying 210 Media-produced video taking us on a sentimental joyride down memory lane through a bygone era of American life.

Defying common definitions and shredding pre-conceived notions about who or what KMFDM is or isn’t genre-wise, this unique gem lyrically harkens back to growing up in America during the 70s and 80s. It'll have you reminiscing with a wink and a laugh as Lucia Cifarelli sings: "Born the year of the Chia pet - Blondes were in, but I’m brunette - Vietnam and Donkey Kong - I was busy getting high with Cheech & Chong.”

From the driving techno, dance and funk-infused thrust of 'LET GO' to the airily melodic and swirling vibes of 'AIRHEAD' and 'TOUCH', the grooving revolutionary oratory and percolating spaghetti western guitar and glitch-laden synth leads of 'TURN THE LIGHT ON' to the sneering and seething riot grrl fury of 'WHEN THE BELL TOLLS', the sinister hip-hop injected 'NEXT MOVE', the downright cinematic and Teutonic electro of 'ERLKÖNIG', and the virulent dub warcry of 'WW 2023' – KMFDM continues to break down barriers and immerse audiences in a bold new reality.

Always stylistically diverse, KMFDM continues to bridge the gaps between genres, coalescing into what we know and love as the Ultra Heavy Beat!  Konietzko and Cifarelli prove as vicious a team as ever, equally sharing vocal and lyrical duties, with longtime associate MC Ocelot appearing to give 'NEXT MOVE' an extra touch of raucous rap energy. All the while, Blacksugar’s prowess on six-strings continues to awe and astound, backed by Selway’s dynamic drumming, meshing with Konietzko’s masterful programming.

Mixed and mastered by Benjamin Lawrenz (VNV Nation, Deep Purple, Saga, Mono Inc., Lord of the Lost), at Chameleon Recording Studios in Hamburg, 'LET GO' signals KMFDM’s 40th anniversary loudly and proudly, with Aidan “BRUTE” Hughes’ distinctive cover artwork mirroring the album’s breakneck power. After four decades, the Ultra Heavy Beat simply refuses to rest in pity and regret, raising a sharpened middle finger at a world in chaos.

The 'LET GO' album is out now, available from fine music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. It is also being offered  on CD and as a Limited Edition Vinyl double LP. Tour tickets are available here.

BRODEQUIN Release Tormented New Single

Brodequin know their history. As with the rest of the band's brutal discography, their new album, Harbinger of Woe was inspired by medieval times. But while its first two singles wielded fresh instruments of torture, the title track cracks into the psychology of a trained killer.

Listen to "Harbinger of Woe" below.

Harbinger of Woe comes out March 22, 2024.

Pre-order: https://shop.season-of-mist.com/list/brodequin-harbinger-of-woe

Pre-save: https://brodequin.fanlink.tv/HarbingerOfWoe

"Harbinger of Woe" delivers plenty of punishment. Brennan Shackelford flails his drum kit with the pinging precision of a dungeon master. But the song isn't inhumane. After all, someone was responsible for administering these historic beatings. Heck, back in the Middle Ages, executioners were considered a necessary evil.

"He is despised and rejected / feared by most members of society", Jamie Bailey gurgles as if bound and gagged by his own microphone.

Sure, it's not painless. But when being dragged to the gallows, all anyone can hope for is someone to put them out of their misery quick and easy. When the breakdown hits, Mike Bailey's riff comes slicing in like a guillotine.

"In many ways, the title track is representative of the whole album", Brodequin says. "'Harbinger of Woe' uses several quotes that capture the violent mindset of the Medieval Period. But lyrically, we're also trying to portray an expert in his craft, who's well-acquainted with being shunned from society, along with all the other negative aspects of his profession. If you found yourself in this unfortunate position, you'd want this highly skilled professional to put you down as quickly and efficiently as possible".

Early praise for Harbinger of Woe

" Like the sonic version of some chemical weapon banned by international law...it's non-stop, it's unrelenting, and it's brutal as fuck - Metal Sucks

"Absolutely crushing...equal parts driving death metal and slamming brutality" - Metal Injection

"Raw and guttural as ever" - Decibel

"Among the myriad methods employed, a prominent example was the affixing of an individual to a pillar, or, more commonly, a tree trunk through the use of long iron nails".

That's Jamie Bailey, talking in true Brodequin fashion about the very first single from Harbinger of Woe.

Watch the medieval video for "Of Pillars and Trees", which was created by Matti Way of From the North Films: https://youtu.be/yh7awqeuZJQ

Their second single only cranks up the torment, but the source material for "Suffocation in Ash" dates all the way back to ancient Persian history.

"Basically, the victim, who's held in a tower that's specifically designed for this sort of thing, is immersed in ash",  Jamie explained.

Listen to "Suffocation in Ash": https://redirect.season-of-mist.com/brodequin-premiere

The Middle Ages might’ve brought the world out of The Dark Ages. But for every compass or printing press, those enlightened thinkers were also responsible for inventing the most torturous devices in human history. None were more brutal than the brodequin. Not only did the French use this instrument to cripple their victims, but to squeeze their legs to the point where bone marrow would spill out of their wounds.

You could say the same about Brodequin. The band come with their own long and sordid history. Brothers Jamie and Mike Bailey have been playing brutal death metal since 1998. Putting his history degree to good use, Jamie’s lyrics are inspired by real historical events, staying true to death metal’s core thematic pillars of dismemberment, torture, abuse and murder. But their artwork broke from genre’s generic splatter illustrations by digging into intricate period woodcuts and beautifully grotesque oil paintings.

“There simply was no point in history that was more brutal than the medieval period,” says Jamie. “At the same time that such barbarity was deployed, there was also an explosion in fine art, architecture and music. It all comes to feed our identity as a band”.

Brodequin’s first album catapulted them far beyond their kingdom of Knoxville. “This band has stuck out in the underground with relentless, barbaric intensity”, says Dying Fetus’ vocalist and guitarist John Gallagher, who named Instruments of Torture one of the most brutal death metal albums ever. Festival of Death put another flesh-tearing arrow in their quiver (“Some of the fastest, most brutalizing death metal ever recorded” - Sputnik Music). But after sieging festival stages across Europe with Methods of Execution, the band had to be put on ice.

“We had a series of deaths in our family”, Jamie explains. “Mike and I knew we had to step away until we had the time and were at a place mentally to give Brodequin the attention it deserved.”

Now, after 20 years of peaceful silence, Brodequin have returned with fresh instruments of torture. The Brothers Bailey are back with a new drummer, a new label and their long-awaited fourth album.

“Brodequin had been away for so long that I was stunned by the level of interest from fans and record labels”, Jamie says. "Before playing Hellfest, the band was approached backstage by a metalhead rocking a Brodequin t-shirt who happened to work for Season of Mist. Soon enough, they were hitting it off with Michael Berberian. The rest, as they say, is history.

“We all hung out for hours”, recalls Jamie. “The extraordinary level of enthusiasm shown toward our music made Season of Mist the obvious choice”.

As has been the case with this band for their entire career, Harbinger of Woe lives up to its name. Lead single “Of Pillars and Trees” is classic Brodequin. Mike’s distorted guitar chords churn like limbs through a meat grinder. The way Brennan Shackelford pings, blasts and flays his snare through “Suffocation in Ash” with the all encompassing speed of a sandstorm. Jamie’s growls are so phlegmy, so rotted, that to drag them out from whatever dark bowel movement spawned them would make an executioner sick to their stomach. And yet — somewhere deep inside all that carnage hides a terrifying beauty. The title track leaves you deaf, dumb and blind, begging on your knees in the face of a punishing, almighty riff.

“This album is a journey into this lost period of history where brutality and beauty coexist. Beauty, in the arts the were created, but also the beautiful brutality that was needed to engineer deadly devices like the brodequin”.

With Harbinger of Woe, Brodequin reclaim their throne as the most brutal band in all of death metal.

Suck Brick Kid Announce Upcoming Album + Release Double Single via Smartpunk Records

SUCK BRICK KID will drop their new album The End Is What I Want via Smarpunk Records on May 17.

Pre-orders for the album are available here.

Ahead of the album release, the band is also debuting two singles: "It's Okay…Probably" and "Unacceptable."

So it's double the fun.

Think back to the last time you visited your local dive bar or venue's doodle-filled bathroom and peered at the walls. Did you stop to take note of the musings or the scrawling so delicately placed on the wall? Did it make you laugh? Did it make you cry? Did it make you angry or upset? Did you contribute? Did you rewrite history?

Don't worry — your secret is safe with us.

Ultimately, though, Suck Brick Kid's upcoming album is a fun, yet introspective punk record about how they think you felt when you inscribed your life's work to that snot rocket-inhabited bathroom stall. It's a little dirty, a little irreverent, and totally fun. It's also a major source of inspiration for the new album. More on that in a second, though...

Speaking about the new single "It's Okay...Probably," the band says, "Mental health is no joke — but we are. This track is a colorful re-telling of someone who is 'going through it' but is masking or pushing it all deep down to not appear 'crazy.' However, after hearing what this character is dealing with, we are certain you may end up just using the 'C' word to describe them."

With a decade of beers literally under their belt, Suck Brick Kid have defined themselves as "loud as fuck and fast as fuck." This is mainly because their vocabulary is small and rudimentary, at best. But also because they really do both of these things better than most. They don't take themselves too seriously and that's infinitely refreshing!

With a slew of conceptual albums already out, Suck Brick Kid aimed high for this new release and found inspiration in one of the lowest places imaginable...a dive bar bathroom. Bathroom graffiti is often over-looked, over-pissed-on, or even over-appreciated (I saw you draw a penis on that stick figure you dirty dog) but Suck Brick Kid wanted to tap into the mindset of some of these individuals and explore what they were (maybe) going through when they made their mark. This opened up possibilities for the songs that vocalist Grant Tchekmeian and guitarist Ian Marchionda cleverly navigated, as they crafted some of the most insane and absurd lyrical content to date. The End Is What I Want should strike a chord with any lover of punk music, dive bars, both of those things, or people who just like a cheeky poop joke — no that was not one, but you see what I did there.

This record is sure to put this band six feet under, in wooden suits, and left for the worms.

But before that happens, they've graced stages of FEST in Jacksonville, Florida, and have also toured alongside Unwritten Law, Palisades, Set Your Goals, and more. However, the band is survived by the following family members (Grant Tchekmeian on vocals, Ian Marchionda on guitar, Daniel Valery on drums, and Hayden Cler on bass).

ABOUT SMARTPUNK RECORDS:
Smartpunk has been a recognizable name in the scene for a long time (Remember that sponsored Warped Tour stage?!). After exchanging several hands and countless ideas of what it could and should be, they decided to start a record label in 2016 with the main idea of focusing solely on reissuing records that have been out of print or never on vinyl. After all, they're a label of vinyl dorks themselves! After releasing Set Your Goals' Mutiny and Gameface's Good, they started to venture into signing newer bands. They actively balance in between many worlds — putting out amazing music from friends and bands that rock, reissuing older titles, and partnering with other incredible labels in our scene and doing exclusive color variants of their releases.

"Since forming the record label, Smartpunk Records has released timeless albums such as Less Than Jake's Anthem, Nominee's Lowlife, RIVALS' Sad Looks Pretty on Me, Virginity's POPMORTEM, and melodic skate punkers The Swellers' My Everest.

HxCx Faves Stretch Arm Strong to Release New EP "The Revealing" on 5/10 + Share "Illuminating"

It's a good new day for hardcore fans, as beloved band Stretch Arm Strongannounce the brand new release, titled The Revealing. The six song, pipebomb of an EP arrives on May 10 via Iodine Recordings. Pre-save it here.

This is the first taste of new music from SAS in nearly two decades. Listen to the new single "Illuminating" below.

"We all have a brilliant light inside of us," the band states about the new track. "Our light can seem inadequate and dim in times of darkness and struggle. We may need another person to shine their light on us so that we can see a path forward. Sometimes, we can be the one to shine the light for others.
'Illuminating' was inspired by a story that was shared with us about a friend helping another friend see their own light."

The Revealing also features a guest vocal from HxCx legend — Sick of It All frontman Lou Koller.

ABOUT STRETCH ARM STRONG:
Formed in Columbia, South Carolina in 1992, Stretch Arm Strong quickly made a name for themselves in the world of hardcore with their frenetic musicianship and unflinching positivity that crossed boundaries of belief and genre. The band initially went on hiatus in 2008 but made a significant return at Furnace Fest 2021. The festival's energy was palpable, leading the band not only to reconnect with countless friends from shows over the years but also with each other, reminding them of how rewarding playing music in Stretch Arm Strong is.

It was only a matter of time before the question of coming back together to write new music would arise. Recording with Steve Evetts, who was initially slated to produce 1999's Rituals of Life, turned out to be total kismet. Their combined chemistry shines through, displaying an energy that recalls their heaviest moments as a band. "It was really refreshing to put an exclamation mark on this thing," says guitarist David Sease. "We did it the way we wanted to, had a good time, and expressed ourselves." The result of this is The Revealing, a true gem of a record and the model for what can be achieved on an EP.

From the outset, it doesn't sound like any time has passed since Stretch Arm Strong stopped. Opening track "The Mirror" slams forward with total ferocity and youthfulness, showcasing why they're still an important part of the scene. "Still Believe Part III" follows up on previous entries with an absolute crusher, concluding with a monster of a breakdown. On "Take a Stand," Stretch Arm Strong enlists Lou Koller from Sick of It All for a killer guest spot.

With six songs clocking in at under fifteen minutes, the EP’s brevity is a testament to the lightning in a bottle Stretch Arm Strong captured by taking the stage once more. No longer being kids and now being full-fledged adults with families and worlds outside of music, the bond between Stretch Arm Strong and their love for playing is a testament to what this music means both for them and the countless listeners that have joined them throughout this time. It's a release that’s worthy of the band's exceptional discography, and a record that can only exist with a once-in-a-lifetime friendship and focus that the band has.

SAS is Chris, David, Jeremy, John and Scott.

Through balancing even the most extreme dynamics, The Plot In You consistently overturn and upend expectations. On any given track, it might seem like they’re about to go one way, but the band will turn on a dime and shift course before the crowd can even catch a breath. This uncanny element of surprise has entrenched the gold-selling Ohio quartet—Landon Tewers [vocals], Josh Childress [guitar], Ethan Yoder [bass], and Michael Cooper [drums] — on the cutting edge of heavy music. Whether it be threads of alternative, electronic, pop, or R&B, nothing is off limits, and everything is fair game for their creative process. That process has continued to morph. Following a series of fan-favorite releases, the band made major waves with DISPOSE [2018]. “FEEL NOTHING” surged on social media as a viral phenomenon, generating hundreds of millions of streams and picking up a gold certification from the RIAA. The musicians only maintained this momentum with Swan Song in 2021. Hysteria rated it “9-out-of-10”. Simultaneously, they sold out shows coast-to-coast. During 2023, the band kickstarted another era with Vol. 1“Divide” generated 9 million Spotify streams right out of the gate followed by “Left Behind”, exploding to the tune of 15.9 million Spotify streams. Upon the arrival of “Forgotten”, Revolver praised it among the “6 Best New Songs Right Now.” They only continue to challenge convention by extending this three-song EP series with Vol. 2 [Fearless Records].

SKELETAL REMAINS Shares Instrumental Play-Through for "Verminous Embodiment," New Album 'Fragments of the Ageless' Out NOW

SHOP // STREAM // DOWNLOAD

American death metal purveyors SKELETAL REMAINS are now celebrating the release of their latest opus, 'Fragments of the Ageless,' with a searing instrumental play-through for the single, "Verminous Embodiment." The clip can be found below.

The band explains that instrumental version is going back to the original idea of the song, “With ‘Verminous Embodiment,’ we originally wanted to do something a little more chaotic and over the top with the original intentions for the song to be an instrumental. But, as the writing process continued, we kept hearing a vocal pattern being sung over the groovy verse riff, so the inspiration for lyrics soon followed after. Heavily inspired by an episode of 'The X-Files' entitled ‘Home.'"

"Verminous Embodiment" is taken from the band's latest opus, 'Fragments of the Ageless,' which has just arrived today, March 8, via Century Media Records! The album is now available HERE.

In addition, SKELETAL REMAINS is currently on the road in the states for a special West Coast run of album release shows! The trek arrive in Los Angeles, CA tonight for a very a special homecoming celebration! The trek will then conclude on March 10 in Las Vegas, NV. The full itinerary can be found below while tickets are available HERE.

"'Fragments Of The Ageless' is a gargantuan effort that is bound to spur gatekeeping purists to uncross their arms and start banging their heads like it's 1993." - Blabbermouth

"The record is sonically incredible, and I don’t believe that there’s a weak track in the bunch." - Decibel Magazine

"...dragging their collective caskets through the underworld, before barnburners of a guitar solo bring the songs to epic climaxes, returning to their flesh-ripping sonic assault without taking a breath." - Heavy Music HQ

"...this is some maximalist ass-kick metal born from the tropes of a genre older than I am and yet Skeletal Remains is proof positive of what’s still possible after these four-ish decades, after refining and polishing, cutting to form and sharpening to a honed edge." - Lambgoat

"With plenty of dense blasting, killer solos, and just the right amount of melodic leads, Skeletal Remains has a little bit of everything for the death metal fan." - Metal Trenches

Skeletal Remains’s ultra-brutal new album, Fragments of the Ageless, is upon us! The Americans—featuring Mike De La O (guitars), Chris Monroy (guitars/vocals), Pierce Williams (drums), and newcomer Brian Rush (bass)—kept busy after their much-hailed The Entombment of Chaos landed into a chaotic world in 2020. Rather than sit idle, the re-energized quartet crafted their penultimate statement. Tracks like “Void of Despair,” which Monroy describes as “aggressive and spastic,” “To Conquer the Devout,” “Relentless Appetite,” and “Verminous Embodiment” are death metal manifested in sound fundamentals, killer musicianship, and the right attitude. While Skeletal Remains have had four full-lengths since forming in 2011, Fragments of the Ageless is the band in their highest grotesque gear yet.

“With every record, we try to push ourselves to make a better record,” Monroy says. “We don’t get into, ‘We need to sound more like this or that.’ What comes out of us is natural. Actually, that’s how it’s been since the first record [Beyond the Flesh]. As death metal fans, we write what we enjoy and want to listen to. Having Pierce and Brian join the band played a big part in the new album. They live in Portland, and the rest of the band is in Los Angeles, so there’s a bit of a gap, but we use technology a lot when we write. They gave us a fresh set of ears.”

The principal songwriting for Fragments of the Ageless started during the pandemic but picked up considerable steam once the band were back on the road in 2022, where they played countless shows and festivals in the U.S., Europe, South America, Central America, and Australia. With Pierce and Brian fully in the fold, Monroy and De La O found themselves, in a way, back to square one, namely the “entire band effort” that comprised their 2012 debut, Beyond the Flesh. The savage DNA of Skeletal Remains is intact, but it’s been altered—no, improved!—iteratively to attack more, devour absolutely, and technically inspire. Tracks like video singles “Void of Despair,” “To Conquer the Devout,” “Relentless Appetite,” as well as deeper album cuts “Forever in Sufferance,” “Verminous Embodiment,” and “Unmerciful” are ravenous.

“It’s more brutal than the last one,” says Monroy. “We were pushing ourselves to be more extreme—vibing on that as much as possible. Obviously, we’re not tech-death now, but I think we took inspiration from the techier side of things. We took things up a notch and dialed in on the technicality and ever-increasing intensity while maintaining catchiness. We still have songs like ‘Eternal Hatred’ [from The Entombment of Chaos]. There’s always room for super-simple mid-paced songs in Skeletal Remains. On one end, we’ve increased in density and brutality; on the other, we wrote a few songs with longer and more ‘epic’ structures. 'Fragments' is simply the next evolutionary step in our sound.”

Lyrically, Skeletal Remains took the left-hand path. Rather than topics and themes inspiring the cover art, Dan Seagrave’s (Suffocation, Entombed, et al.) famously atramentous detail conversely informed the lyrics and album title. Monroy says they had working titles that they conveyed to Seagrave, but the final painting sparked the title, Fragments of the Ageless. Of course, the usual influx of sci-fi, historical, personal struggles, and fantastical also played a part.

“Seagrave completed the cover art before we had a title,” Monroy says. “That was kind of weird, but it worked in our favor. The cover art directly inspired a few of the lyrics and musical themes, tying multiple pieces together, which is a first for us. We did show him different pieces of art—10 in all, I think—that we liked, so there was direction. We wanted a mixture of things, with the final idea being a creature being taken apart and its DNA extracted. Seagrave’s crazy brain made it all come to life.”

Skeletal Remains recorded Fragments of the Ageless at various home and professional studios. Most of the guitars, bass, and solos were tracked DIY. The band wanted the drums to sound as imposing as possible, so they booked Trench Studios (Intronaut, Hirax) with John Haddad, while the vocals were cut at Birdcage Studios with Allen Falcon (Pestilent Death). Once the album’s core had been recorded, Monroy and the team sent their sick slab to Swedish studio ace Dan Swanö (Asphyx, Incantation) for mixing and mastering. If the blistering leads of “Void of Despair” and “Verminous Embodiment” don’t impress, then check out the blasting drums of “Cybernetic Harvest” and “Relentless Appetite.”

“Dan really gets it,” says Monroy. “He’ll send us mixes, and he’ll automatically add stuff like effects and little details throughout the back and forth. He knows what we want before we can tell him. Dan understands what we’re going for. There’s mutual understanding and respect. Of course, he’s been mixing and mastering for a long time and has made a name for himself, but we’re really happy with the production on 'Fragments.' It jumps out at you.”

Monroy says the band’s goal with Fragments of the Ageless is to continue death metal’s lineage—to honor the past and present. The future, however, is lined with more touring and festivals. Having just come off a stateside run with Suffocation and Incantation late last year, Skeletal Remains are poised to ravage more of the world, with high-profile slots at Wacken (Germany) and Alcatraz (Belgium) festivals already secured.

Death… Is just the beginning with Skeletal Remains’s Fragments of the Ageless.

Kurt Deimer Unveils Official Music Video for Single "Dance"; On Tour Now, Featuring Shows Alongside Tesla!

Kurt Deimer's newest single, "Dance," released on March 1, 2024, is a testament to resilience and the ability to find inspiration in challenging circumstances. The single is a precursor to his highly anticipated debut album, And So It Begins..,slated for release later this year.

Today, Kurt unveiled the eagerly awaited music video, a visual masterpiece captured against the stunning backdrop of a Los Angeles rooftop. Directed by the visionary Kurt Deimer himself, the video seamlessly weaves together captivating imagery and dynamic visuals.

WATCH Kurt Deimer - "Dance" (Official Video) Below

STREAM "DANCE" HERE

Kurt comments about the single, "I boarded a Southwest flight in January of 2022. It was a last minute flight, and I was crammed against a window for a 4 plus hours. I convinced myself to endure this flight I was gonna to write a killer song."

He continues, “'Dance' is about life. It has its ups and downs. Life can be quiet and serene. Then it can be turbulent and stormy. It can create a war within your mind, heart and soul. We all have to teach ourselves to dance through the good and bad in life. Enjoy life. Embrace life, escape negativity before it consumes us. Writing this song helped me escape a bad situation on this flight. I did not let the circumstances consume me. I wrote 'Dance' to get me through it."

Kurt's resilience in converting a challenging situation into a creative triumph exemplifies the transformative power of music. "Dance" is a reminder to cherish life's moments and embrace positivity.

In support of the single, Kurt is currently on tour with solo headline performances and special appearances alongside the legendary band, Tesla.

The tour announcement follows Deimer's recent successful single release "Doom," which captivated audiences worldwide with its innovative sound and soul-stirring lyrics. Renowned for his dynamic stage presence and ability to infuse passion into every performance, Kurt Deimer is set to raise the bar yet again with this upcoming tour.

Stay tuned for further updates and announcements regarding ticket sales, additional tour dates, and exclusive behind-the-scenes content by following Kurt Deimer'sofficial social media channels.

In a world that seems to be spiraling out of control, Kurt Deimer is a man with a very clear mission: Work Hard, Rock Hard, Play hard and Spread positivity. In fact, his mantra could be summed up: “Take the high road, do the right thing, encourage others.” It sounds like a tall order these days in a world full of warring factions. And it’s an unusual mission for a singer/songwriter vocalist whose music could be described as hard rock, even heavy metal – genres that are not always synonymous with positivity.

Deimer, for his part, describes his work as good old fashioned rock and roll. “And it’s as good a vehicle as any for spreading good vibes” he says. “I’m here to encourage others to treat people with respect, dignity and kindness,” he says. “I’ve been through a lot of things in my life and I try to share that with others and be a beacon of hope for my listeners.”

That positivity and perseverance has paid off for the native of Cincinnati, Ohio. He’s not only launched a movie franchise, Hellbilly Hollow, by filming and starring in a feature length horror film of the same name. He’s also recorded more than two dozen songs with legendary producer Chris Lord-Alge (Green Day, James Brown and the Rolling Stones), his management team includes Brian Wheat, manager of TESLA who discovered him while opening for TESLA.

Chris Lord-Alge says he was drawn to Kurt’s originality as an artist. “I saw something completely different in Kurt, and that was the lure for me. He isn’t a typical rock or country artist – I love hearing him talk and narrating a story, and I was drawn to taking those stories and helping turn them into music. He’s a personality, he’s someone you want to talk to.”

Things have not always been positive in Deimer’s world. At age 20, as a young rock vocalist, he found himself in the grips of drug addiction. He later discovered he was using substances to medicate an underlying anxiety condition. At that young age, he quit drugs, got help for his anxiety and never looked back.

He eventually started buying and selling rental properties and used that money to start the first of several successful companies he owns. Despite making his mark in the business world, Deimer didn’t feel ready to settle down and “join the country club and play golf all day” – so at an age when most people start thinking about slowing down, he started to speed up.

Inspired by the artists that helped shape him – Boston, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Marley and AC/DC, to name just a few – he started writing song lyrics.

Inspired by his love of movies and acting roles in films including the 2018 ‘Halloween’ remake – where his character was killed by Michael Myers – and John Travolta’s ‘Trading Paint,’ he started hashing out a movie concept that became his eventual Hellbilly Hollow feature film and franchise.

Deimer has supported Geoff Tate on an expansive cross-country tour that highlighted material from his debut EP, that came out on November 19, 2021, which includes a duet with Tate and a trilogy of music videos directed by Scottish filmmaker Paul Boyd [Sting, Deadmau5, The Cult] that spotlight Deimer’s cinematic vision and charismatic presence. Along with many other supporting shows including TESLA, Drowning Pool and Yngwie Malmsteen all this within the first two years of touring.

For Deimer, the inspiration is to make the world a better place one song at a time, singing about the ills of the 21st century and offering solutions instead of excuses. “When people listen to my music, I want to help them decompress and feel better after a brutal day. That’s what music always did for me, and that’s what we need more of today.”

THE MOODY BLUES’ JOHN LODGE RELEASES 'DAYS OF FUTURE PASSED – MY SOJOURN' ON VINYL AND CD WITH RESCHEDULED JULY TOUR

John Lodge, legendary bass player, songwriter and vocalist of The Moody Blues, and inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, is to release his latest studio album Days of Future Passed – My Sojourn on CD, with a special Limited Edition 180gram Platinum Vinyl to follow on April 12th. Special autographed bundles will also be available.

Over the last year John has been performing his version of this groundbreaking album, lovingly recreating it in full symphonic glory, and the reaction from audiences then led naturally to a studio recording. It was originally released in the UK, but following critical and fan acclaim, and John’s passion around the release, he is delighted to finally be releasing the album in the USA. The recording tells the story of ‘a day in the life’, and includes “Nights in White Satin”, “Tuesday Afternoon”, and “Peak Hour”, together with a very special recording of “Late Lament” by the late Graeme Edge and performances by Jon Davison of YES.

“This is an album that will reach into your heart with its gentleness and beauty and will refresh your soul as its hidden depths are re-discovered. I urge you to hear this masterpiece as a balm for modern times, it is most highly recommended” Progradar-October 5, 2023

The release will be followed by John’s USA tour in July – rescheduled from February/March due to a medical issue.

View “Peak Hour” video below:

Lodge had this to say about the new release, “When I decided to call my album ‘Days of Future Passed - My Sojourn’, it was about this incredible album, but sitting here today, it feels very poignant that I’ve had my own ‘sojourn' over the last couple of months... I’ve embraced this quiet time, been surrounded by the loving support of family and friends, and taken time to be thankful. However, I'm delighted to be able to bring this album to you in the USA, and be back on the road where I love!

So, thank you to all the fans, the venues, the promoters, and my agent, for being so patient and working so hard to reschedule these dates.

But most importantly, I’m so happy to announce that my album is being released in the USA. I loved seeing it released in the UK, but knew it needed to be available in the USA too!

This journey began following conversations with Graeme as I wanted to continue to bring our music to the fans. Modern technology gives us great tools to recreate what we did in 1967, hopefully bringing out nuances or new emphases that weren’t there before, but what is at the heart of it is an incredible album. I will always be grateful to Graeme, Justin, Mike and Ray, we created some wonderful music together, and for now, I’m grateful to Alan, Billy, Duffy and Jason, and of course Jon, for helping me continue on the path I love. Thank you to all for keeping the faith.”

John will be back on tour in July, with his rescheduled dates, where you will be taken back in time as you experience the album live, in its entirety, together with a set of Moody Blues classic hits.

John Lodge is bass guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter for the iconic Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame 2018 inductees, The Moody Blues. Songwriter of such mega Moody Blues hits from “Ride My SeeSaw,” to “I’m Just A Singer (In A Rock and Roll Band),” “Isn’t Life Strange?” and many more. Lodge has been performing and recording with The Moody Blues for more than five decades, selling in excess of 70 million albums. He has been voted one of the “10 most influential bass players on the planet,” and has been the recipient of many awards, including ASCAP (American Society of Composers and Publishers), an Ivor Novello Award, a Lifetime Achievement Award from Prog Magazine, to name just a few. With the Moody Blues now no longer touring, John is passionate about “Keeping the Moody Blues Music Alive”, and John and his 10,000 Light Years Band provide a unique opportunity to continue to experience the magic of the Moody Blues.

Mandoki Soulmates announce new studio album this May and reveal video and single

Mandoki Soulmates – the international and inter-generational supergroup consisting of rock and fusion grandmasters surrounding founder and mastermind Leslie Mandoki – proudly announce their new album, A Memory Of Our Future, to be released worldwide on May 10th via Sony Music’s label InsideOutMusic.

Pre-Order A Memory Of Our Future here: https://mandokisoulmates.lnk.to/AMemoryOfOurFuture-Bio

The group celebrates the announcement with the release of a new single and video, Blood In The Water. Listen to the single here & watch the video below.

A Memory Of Our Future is Mandoki Soulmates’ latest work of art and nothing short of an instant prog-rock classic, bringing world-class musicianship and composition together with trenchant social and political messaging. The entire album was recorded and produced purely in the analog domain, from microphone to mixing and mastering, making A Memory Of Our Future a manifesto of precision and passion that is hard to find in today's music landscape. Recorded and mixed in Leslie Mandoki’s Red Rock Studios near Munich, mastered in the infamous Sterling Sound Studios in New York and cut in the Emil Berliner Studios in Berlin, the Soulmates are also making a statement as a kind of “revenge of the analog” in times of digital deception, scam bots, and internet trolls. The analog format is also an expression of their special appreciation and bond with the band’s audience, “like a love letter handwritten with a fountain pen."

A Memory Of Our Future is now available for pre-order and will be available in the following formats:

  • 180g black 2LP wide spined Gatefold & extensive 12-page booklet

  • Ltd. CD Edition PocketPac with noble matt/gloss finishing, Vinyl-look disc and extensive 24-page booklet

  • Standard CD Jewel case (US Version)

  • Digital album

Mandoki continues, “The hyper-emotionalization of news in social media delivers outrage instead of information, intentionally triggering waves of
over-excitement and manufactured conflicts. Without fact-checking, where can we find the truth among all the ‘alternative facts,’ lies and AI-generated propaganda? This has yielded a deep crisis of trust that is being exploited by the populists and demagogues of the world.

Despite their seemingly obvious fallacies and contradictions, the people in their bubbles actually believe them. Rational, civil discourse rarely takes place, and without the sensible exchange of ideas we are left with a festering breeding ground for insecurity, hate and division.

With the 12 new tracks on A Memory Of Our Future, the band hangs a beacon of light at the end of the depressing tunnel of today, and remind us that rock music has always sung for freedom in peace and for peace in freedom.

The album announcement comes with a new single called Blood In The Water, which has it all: a pulsating beat, a catchy hook, and that ineffable prog-rock spirit that appeals to heart and mind simultaneously. The single is an anthem for resilience in the face of a shark tank’s-worth of daunting challenges. It encourages those who dare to resist conformity and courageously to look ahead; it issues a call to be different and join a movement of resistance.

With virtuosic solos from Ian Anderson’s inimitable flute and Cory Henry’s searing Hammond organ, Blood In The Water’s powerful lyrical message is delivered with insistent passion from vocalists Leslie Mandoki, Nick van Eede (Cutting Crew), Tony Carey, and Jesse Siebenberg (Supertramp).

Watch Blood In The Water here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oe6qKO28QEw

The song reflects Mandoki's vision of building bridges among disparate groups using progressive jazz-rock and incisive lyrics to comment on the social challenges of our time, to inspire the aspirational, pointing toward a utopia for realists.

Reflecting with some chagrin, Mandoki states, “The dreams of my generation lie in ruins today. After 1989, we had such a wonderful, historic opportunity to create a mindful, humane, peaceful, and absolutely free world for future generations. But we blew it. Driven by egotism and greed, we have inadvertently enabled the creation of a world where money itself makes profit faster than human labor, no matter the value-added proposition. This devaluation and commodification of people’s work has also led to the disregard for sustainability, both economically and environmentally, yielding a climate of social imbalance, inequity, and unrest. This division and radicalization, as we have unfortunately and painfully learned, has even led to war. And so, I sing that there is ‘blood in the water.’ Far too much blood in the water.”

He adds about the meaning of the black swan on the album cover: “Blood In The Water as a song presents our contemporary situation as a labyrinth of crises in a world without a compass, where unifying and stabilizing movements in society have crumbled. The dreaded ‘black swan’ has landed. It sits on our album cover as a symbol of our times, in which reality outstrips our worst fears with previously unimaginable tragic scenarios. We must stay vigilant, as we sing: you better keep an eye open, if you fall asleep...

Burton C. Bell (ex-Fear Factory) Releases Video for Debut Solo Single "Anti-Droid"

The voice that defined futuristic anxiety, existential desperation, and steadfast resistance returns.

Extreme music pioneer, multimedia talent, and iconoclastic provocateur Burton C. Bell resurrects his legacy and forward-thinking destiny, remade in a career-spanning incarnation as a singular solo artist.

His work continually explores themes of dystopian angst, identity, technology gone wrong, and resilience. "Anti-Droid," Burton C. Bell's debut solo single, arrives with a potent message. "I severed the machine that no longer served me," he screams in the moody, synth-heavy, sci-fi metal missive. It's a defiant statement delivered with a confident bombast. Burton C. Bell is back on the offensive.

Watch the video below

"I'm starting my solo career," Bell says enthusiastically. "I'm working with different producers and co-songwriters, making music that I love, with full control of the music and creative direction."

Bell's discography includes multiple live and recorded collaborations with Black Sabbath icon Geezer Butler and Journey's Deen Castronovo (as GZR); industrial maverick Al Jourgensen and Ministry; and guest vocal appearances with Pitchshifter, Conflict, Soil, Static-X, Soulfly, and Delain, among others. He's the vocalist of Ascension Of The Watchers and City Of Fire and, of course, the co-creator of Fear Factory and the only musician to appear on every Fear Factory release from 1992 through 2024.

"Fear Factory ushered in an entirely new strand of metal when they emerged from the sweatboxes of L.A. in the early '90s," Metal Hammer wrote. "Demanufacture was so innovative that it sounds as fresh today as it did then; a blistering collision of metal and hardcore that easily rivals any of its peers. In short, a masterpiece," wrote Kerrang! in an anniversary retrospective. It's a Decibel Magazine Hall Of Fame album, alongside classic records by Scorpions, Judas Priest, Slayer, Anthrax, and Emperor.

Fear Factory created a sound that revolutionized extreme metal, defined in no small part by Bell's innovative scream/sing dichotomy and the influences he brought from post-punk and industrial. Songs like "Replica," "Linchpin," "Edgecrusher," "Fear Campaign," "Archetype," "Cyber Waste," and "Zero Signal" are modern metal anthems. Demanufacture (1995) and the RIAA gold-certified Obsolete (1998) are genre-redefining works heralded by fans and critics as essential albums. Orwell, Bradbury, Blade Runner, and sophisticated sci-fi and fantasy works fed Bell's lyrics and concepts.

The band toured the world with Metallica, Slipknot, Korn, Megadeth, and Ozzy Osbourne, taking bands like System Of A Down and Static-X out as support acts in their early stages. After years of behind-the-scenes band member turmoil and legal issues, Bell left Fear Factory in the fall of 2020.

In the chorus of "Anti-Droid," he declares: "I'd rather be dead than a slave to the factory."

Bell says "Anti-Droid" is "a statement about breaking free. Breaking the bonds of what I felt was a prison in many ways. Not just financially or contractually but creatively, as well. I felt constrained to this format we'd written ourselves into. The 'factory' doesn’t have a capital F. It's the factory of the music industry, a certain form of business, and priorities. Being a slave to an established way of thinking is not really freedom. I am moving forward."

Like the faithful cover of Rammstein's "Du Hast" he released in 2023, or the cover of "Enter Sandman" recorded with Danzig's John Christ and Metallica's Robert Trujillo more than a decade before, Bell's solo work embodies the best of hard rock, metal, and industrial's past, present, and future. "Anti-Droid" is but the opening salvo in a brand-new campaign, which will see Burton C. Bell releasing increasingly innovative yet classic feeling, ever-engaging solo material. It also sets the stage for future live performances, certain to deliver the anthems that have defined his body of work, songs rarely played from City Of Fire and G/Z/R, and diverse deep cuts from the Fear Factory catalog.

"Never be destroyed by your own creation."

Filth to Release "Southern Hostility" on 4/5 + Band Shares Video For Title Track

Filth are a hip-hop-influenced deathcore band from Shelby, North Carolina.

They will drop Southern Hostility on April 5. Pre-order it here.

Today, they are sharing the video for the title track. Watch it below..

Born in 2015 as a side project for guitarist David Gantt and vocalist Dustin Mitchell, Filth quickly took on a life of its own, with the purpose of spreading soul-smothering brutality to the hearts and heads of heavy music enthusiasts around the country. They popped off with the release of their debut EP, Tales from the Gutter, and morphed into a ball of mud rolling down a steep hill of grime — picking up mass and speed with each passing moment and with every subsequent breakdown.

The group has taken many stages to serve as regional support for heavy hitters, such as Brand of Sacrifice, Kingdom of Giants, and Chelsea Grin before embarking on multiple headlining and support tours, across the United States, Canada, and the UK. The band has opened for everyone from Hatebreed to Terror to Lorna Shore to The Acacia Strain to Slaughter to Prevail.

With a stretch of head-turning live performances and a critically acclaimed display of hyper-dissonant heaviness laced with urban grooves, the band is set to release its best material yet in Spring 2024 with Album Title.

Add an intense work ethic and a desire to scratch and claw its way to the top, and 2024 will be the year of Filth. Roll up your sleeves and get ready to get dirty.

Britnee Kellogg Releases "She's Come a Long Way" via ONErpm

Singer/songwriter Britnee Kellogg releases “She’s Come a Long Way,” a song about the enduring female spirit and perseverance through hardships, via global music company ONErpm. Listen Below.

“I really wanted to write a song for those that have been through a lot in life but continue to get up and keep going,” shares Kellogg. “It takes a lot of grit, courage and strength to get back up after failing time and time again, but one of my main goals in my music is to help others feel heard and like they’re not alone in what they’re going through. I truly feel we need more music from women who have been THROUGH IT, and I feel like this song is a great start.”

Produced by Autumn McEntire and Jared Conrad and written by Kellogg, McEntire, Danielle Blakey and Marti Dodson, “She’s Come a Long Way” is a female anthem that champions resilience. It is a song that women who have faced any sort of adversity will want to immediately add to their playlists:

She’s been down in the dust,
      Hit her knees but she got back up;
Got her feet on the ground but her head’s in the clouds to stay

      She’s been quiet too long,
      But you can’t steal a songbird’s song;
      She was drowning in noise,
      Now she’s got something to say;
      She’s come a long way
She’s come a long, long way

The accompanying music video, due out by the end of the month, will feature a variety of women from different backgrounds and professions.

A Vancouver, Wash., native, Kellogg’s love of country music started at age 9 when she attended a Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash concert. Smitten from the first note, Kellogg knew even then she had found her chosen career. Today, you’ll find her sharing the stage with artists such as Blake Shelton, Eric Paslay, Lee Brice, Kane Brown, Little Big Town and Keith Urban. You may have also seen her on seasons 11 and 12 of American Idol.

Kellogg is currently performing on stages across the U.S., writing new music and recording in the studio. She is booked exclusively by The Kinkead Entertainment Agency of Nashville. For more information, visit BritneeKellogg.com or follow along on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok @BritneeKellogg.

Koe Wetzel's New Single "Damn Near Normal" & Official Music Video Out Now

Today’s release of “Damn Near Normal” signifies the first new music from Platinum-selling singer-songwriter Koe Wetzel as POLLSTAR’s “red dirt sensation” gears up to follow the success of 2022’s Hell Paso. Listen to “Damn Near Normal” HERE. The track is accompanied by an official video directed by John Park that finds Koe back in his childhood home reminiscing on the past. Watch Below.

The new release epitomizes what MusicRow celebrates as a “disruptive attitude and the refreshing blend of musical influences” from “the genre-bending Texas native making his own rules” with signs of Country, Rock and Americana all present across the four-minute track.

“‘Damn Near Normal’ is a song about this lifestyle that is anything but,” reflects Wetzel. “Waking up somewhere new on the road every day, up playing music all hours of the night with our fans… this is a wild ride we’re on that looks totally different than most people’s ‘normal’ … but I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Real job, good wife, two kids / Don’t know what exit I missed / And this road I’m on, is kinda dark alone,” he sings in the bare-truths song’s open. “Fake job, no wife, no kids / Can’t believe I’m living like this.”

Written by Wetzel alongside Gabe Simon (Lana Del Rey, Noah Kahan, Dua Lipa), Amy Allen (Justin Bieber, The Chainsmokers, Harry Styles), Carrie Karpinen and artist Sam Harris, the song was co-produced by Simon and Karpinen and mixed by GRAMMY Award-winning mixer and engineer Ryan Hewitt (Blink-182, Kacey Musgraves, Noah Kahan, Red Hot Chili Peppers).

The new music follows last week’s celebration of what has unofficially become known as “Koe Wetzel Day” in honor of the cult classic song “February 28, 2016” featured on his Noise Complaint album, with Wetzel himself joining his fiercely loyal fans who gathered at his Riot Room venue in Fort Worth. The celebration continues with Noise Complaint now available on vinyl for the first time. Purchase HERE.

Fans can also see Wetzel live at several major festivals this year, including Rock the Country, Tortuga, Cattle Country, Country Thunder, Country Jam, Watershed and more, in addition to several headlining dates across California and a hometown stadium show as he joins Morgan Wallen’s One Night At A Time World Tour in Arlington, Texas this July.

About Koe Wetzel
Koe Wetzel might just be the last real rebel out there. The Platinum-selling East Texas-born singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer shakes up the status quo, shatters expectations and sticks to his guns with a sound steeped in country storytelling, yet spiked with grunge grit. He’s unapologetic, undeniable and unlike anyone else you’ve ever heard. Without anything to prove and nothing to lose, he continues to kick ass on his own terms. Breaking through with a series of independent releases and tallying over 2.4 billion streams to date, Wetzel has impressively notched multiple RIAA-certified singles, including six Gold records and the Platinum track “Drunk Driving.” The latter adorned his 2020 Columbia Records debut, Sellout, which arrived to widespread critical acclaim from American Songwriter, The Boot, Rolling Stone, and more. Wetzel followed with the release of his 2022 album Hell Paso, which debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard 200. Recorded at the iconic Sonic Ranch Studio outside of El Paso, Texas, the 13-track LP perfectly blends Wetzel’s musical influences and carves a unique lane for himself. In speaking about the album, he says: “We pulled in every genre we were feeling at the time. We spent the last ten years trying to make this sound, Hell Paso has it.”

Over the years, Wetzel has quietly emerged as a powerhouse performer packing arenas, amphitheaters and ballparks across North America. Selling over 275,000 tickets in 2023 alone, he graced Pollstar’s “Top Worldwide Tours” for the third time with headline performances, top festivals and an opening slot for Morgan Wallen already slated for 2024. He continues to forge ahead with new music on the horizon. Ultimately, there’s only one Koe Wetzel, and he’s here to stay.

FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE RETURNS WITH NEW SINGLE 'PENDULUM'

Sometimes you have to die first to fully understand what life is.” - Francesco Paoli

Death… our inevitable ruin that calls for us sooner or later. Many who are fortunate enough to temporarily escape its fatal clutches experience life altering changes, finding renewed purpose, rejuvenated creative spirit and a reawakening of the soul. Such as the story goes for FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE frontman Francesco Paoli who in 2021 was involved in a tragic mountain climbing accident that left him clinging to life with years of recovery ahead, and ultimately inspiring the band’s first music in years.

Today marks the monumental return of Paoli and Italian symphonic metal giants FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE as the band releases their first new music since the devastating accident. Inspired by horrific event, the new single ‘Pendulum’ swings with intense ferocity and baroque classical movements, seething with anguished pain.

Commenting on the song, Paoli says:

This is the first song we release since my ‘dance’ with death, back in August 2021. It's obvious that such a life changing event would have affected our music. It took a toll on me, physically and mentally, and sharing my experience is also part of my healing process. Pendulum is just the opening chapter of a bigger story, which is yet to be told…

Mixed and mastered by Grammy-nominated producer Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Epica, Arch Enemy), ‘Pendulum’ encapsulates all the core elements that FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE are known for: sheer violence, majestic orchestrations and soaring operatic melodies. The stunning artwork was created by Italian artist Ludovico Cioffi.

The new single is accompanied by a stunning music video directed by Martina L. McLean (GHOST, OCEANA). Watch below.

Paoli adds about the video:

The music video, realized by visionary Italian director Martina L. McLean, turned my unfortunate incident into a monumental visual experience, an awe inspiring blend of obscure symbolism, surreal architectures and nightmarish mythological creatures. It perfectly portraits the struggle and the desperation of that day, a day of defeat... but also the day of my rebirth.”

New album from Take Offense announced

Chula Vista’s Take Offense forge ahead towards new frontiers on T.O.tality.

After nearly two decades of grinding and the accompanying blood/sweat, Take Offense have mastered their craft, reaching the pinnacle of their crossover style. T.O.tality, their fourth overall album and label debut for MNRK Heavy, is marked with a sense of modernity– incorporating the hard-driving ethos of thrash, the finesse of speed metal, the sneering tenacity of hardcore all while nodding to their home of Southern California.

Take Offense look toward the tone and attitude of their California counterparts– bands like EXCEL and Suicidal Tendencies who also leaned heavily into skate aesthetics but worshipped Sunset Strip-and-adjacent guitar dieties like Warren Di Martini and Eddie Van HalenT.O.tality is a love letter to that scene and those times, delivered in the form of an armada of fourteen nitro-equipped tracks that explode through barricades of genre convention and emptying the clip with fresh ideas. It’s a tribute to local heroes with familiar approaches that are wholly and undoubtedly Take Offense.

Today they’ve shared T.O.tality’s opening track and lead single “Greetings From Below” which “touches on certain Mexica beliefs of our underworlds,” reveals vocalist Anthony Herrera. “It’s believed these are places we go to when we die, but also when we go to sleep, in our dreams and nightmares. Our underworlds also correlate to our waking state as well and we usually experience them in the form of troubles or obstacles we face in our everyday life.”

Much like previous recordings, tracking for T.O.tality took place with Nick Jett (Terror) and the band serving as producers. But conflicting schedules between Herreraguitarist Greg Cerwonkabassist Randy Noyesdrummer Mitch Reitman and rhythm guitarist Ricky Garcia caused the recording of the much anticipated follow-up to Cause & Effect to be drawn out– writing commenced in Summer 2021 and tracking was completed in June 2023, with Matt Hyde (Slayer, No Doubt, Deftones) handling the mixing and Nick Townsend on mastering duty. “We’re incredibly proud of the record, and feel like it really represents who we are and where we’re from. But it was really a strenuous one to make and at points it felt like we might not get it done,” admits Greg. There were scheduling issues and complications around the pandemic, and on top of that Greg played in the live lineup of Turnstile for a while, so that added another layer. Regardless of all that, T.O.tality is here, and a big step forward.

And while only a cursory listen is needed to know that T.O.tality is a massive evolutionary step forward for the band, a detailed listen reveals the attention given with respect to lyricism and storytelling by frontman Anthony Herrera. Familiar lyrical themes from previous releases still ring true, but Herrera also called upon his own upbringing to add in themes surrounding existentialism, politics, soldiering forward and leaving regret behind. “I feel like I didn't hold back on things I wanted to say. It’s even in the title of the record– totality,” admits Herrera. “Certain tracks on the record have references to Mexica, which are beliefs that go back to early Mexico– something that I grew up with. When I was younger, I don’t think it was as easy for me to express certain things into words. I think things come easier now and I feel like I put it all out there. So I'm very proud to be at this point– I feel like we are stronger than ever, and with the new record we are the best version of who we are.”
