The Devil Wears Prada Drop Video for Brand New Single "Ritual"

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA have entered their "Ritual" era!

The band has just dropped the video for the brand new single "Ritual."

It finds the band further experimenting with and pushing the boundaries of their signature sound.

Watch the video here

The song was co-produced by Grammy nominated Tyler Smyth (I Prevail, Falling in Reverse) and mixed by Zakk Cervini (Bring Me The Horizon, Blink 182).

"With 'Ritual,' we are kicking off the new era of The Devil Wears Prada with a bang. Color Decay saw us diving into the emotional struggles so many of our generation are going through, so we wanted to write a song that amped up the energy level," the band explains. "Lyrically, 'Ritual' is about the mundane experiences of life, surrendering to the monotony rather than going against it."

TDWP continue to smash boundaries and expectations. They are truly operating in the height of their career, having moved over 75,000 tickets on the Metalcore Dropouts tour, during which they've been playing material almost exclusively new material from 2022's Color Decay. Rather than focus on their deep (and much-loved) catalog, the band is leaving fans even hungrier for even more new songs.

TDWP will also appear at two major upcoming festivals — So What?! in Texas in June and When We Were Young in Las Vegas in October.

Alleviate Share Video For New Track "Within Worlds"

After their successful debut singles "Die For Me," "Better," "Trying To Survive," and "Broken" gained nearly 2 million plays on Spotify, ALLEVIATE have launched their latest single "Within Worlds," out now via Arising Empire.

Watch the visualizer below.

Merging intense energy with complex harmonies, "Within Worlds" not only reinforces but elevates the standards of metalcore but also offers a fresh perspective on the capabilities within the genre.

Upon dropping "Die For Me," high-profile internet reactors like Nik Nocturnal and Too Lit Mafia were all about Alleviate's powerful and catchy sound, as the group combines technical riffs, heavy breakdowns, and catchy hooks that get stuck in your head for hours at a time.

Formed in 2020 with the launch of "Die For Me," the band combines the best of technical metalcore, deathcore, djent, and post-hardcore in one powerful and beautiful style.

Like Moths to Flames Announce New Album "THE CYCLES OF TRYING TO COPE" + Share "Kintsugi" Video

U.S. metalcore act Like Moths To Flames have announced their new album THE CYCLES OF TRYING TO COPE. It arrives on May 10 via UNFD. Pre-order it here.

Today, the band has shared the video for the explosive juggernaut of a new single "Kintsugi," which also shows off the melodic and contemplative side of the band. Watch it Below

Each single that the band has released is related to a coping "cycle" and associated word. "Kinstugi" is "Cycle Two: Fracture."

"Kintsugi" is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with a mixture including powdered gold — essentially repairing the cracks with gold.

"When things go wrong, I think we are left to pick up the pieces and forced to choose which piece to leave with," says singer Chris Roetter. "If it's not possible to leave with everything the way it was before it broke, how do you know what piece to hold onto?"

As for the album as a whole, Roetter shares, "The record encapsulates the many varying emotions we go through when trying to grow through life. The last few years, I really tried to harness some of those emotions as a catalyst to get through whatever I was going through at the time. I think we all have our own unique ways to cope and these are mine."

Dark Tranquillity Announce New Album "Endtime Signals" + Share "The Last Imagination" Visualizer

Hailing from Gothenburg, iconic melodic death metal pioneers Dark Tranquillity are thrilled to ring in a new chapter of their musical journey: The band has finished its thirteenth studio album Endtime Signals. The album will be released on August 16 via Century Media Records.

In addition, the band provides a sneak peek into the album's thematic depth with the release of the first single "The Last Imagination," which offers a first glimpse into the profound journey through the existential depth that is Endtime Signals.

Watch the visualizer for "The Last Imagination" below.

Stream the song here.

Notably, Endtime Signals not only marks the 13th studio album of the band, but also their tenth album collaboration with Century Media Records. Building on the success of previous releases such as Atoma (2016), which climbed up to #2 in the Swedish album charts, and Moment (2020), which earned the band a Swedish Grammis award, the band is set to continue to redefine and deliver a top-tier musical experience with Endtime Signals.

"Welcome to the world of Dark Tranquillity once again," the band says. "It's been a while since Moment and we've gone through quite a lot in order to end up where we find ourselves today. But as we can reveal the first single from the upcoming Endtime Signals, the feeling is that of pride, accomplishment, and a fair bit of relief. 'The Last Imagination' showcases one of many facets of what we feel is our most diverse album to date."

The band continues, "Going back to what we fundamentally feel is the core of Dark Tranquillity, with a partly new line-up, has been a tremendous experience. It gave us the opportunity to re-evaluate and view what we have built from a new and exciting perspective. This resulted in a focused and intense writing period where we have discovered aspects of our music anew and taken certain elements of it further than before. Joakim Strandberg Nilson has delivered above and beyond in terms of drumming, with Christian Jansson following through in fierce and precise fashion. This has driven the writing and recording process to feel challenging, different and inspiring in the best way possible."

Discussing the album as a whole, the band offers, "Thematically. the album deals with where we are heading, what has truly and fundamentally changed in us and how we find ways to cope with it. It has been hard finding that spark of positivity lately and there is a sense of grief running through the course of the album. Not only in the sense of mourning what we have lost on a personal level, but also where our sacrifices have taken us. 'The Last Imagination' in particular takes this to its logical conclusion and talks of what we leave behind and how hard it is for us to grasp that our significance might not be what we imagined.

"The breadth of the album is something we have worked hard at and we believe that this first song gives an indication if not a full picture of what is in store. There is ferocious speed, grinding brutality and haunting melodies of devastating loss to come. This is us making good on our promise to ourselves and our continuing mission."

Stay tuned for more information!

The first single "The Last Imagination" stands as a beacon of Dark Tranquillity's unparalleled artistry: The band delves into the depths of the human experience and reflects on the impermanence of life, with a profound lyrical narrative and captivating melodies. This single challenges listeners to confront the finality of their stories, unheard and untold.

Accompanying the release, Niklas Sundin, former guitarist and longstanding collaborator of the band, has crafted captivating visual elements, including the visualizer for "The Last Imagination."

The album release date, August 16, was strategically chosen: It is no coincidence that the album reveal collides with the infamous Summer Breeze Open Air in Dinkelsbühl, Germany and Dark Tranquillity's performance at the festival. As a special celebration for the reveal of their new album, the band will give a burning live performance, playing and partying into the release of Endtime Signals live on stage.

Fans and metal enthusiasts alike can expect a whole Dark Tranquillity experience during this year's festival – stay tuned!

Before returning to Europe for the festival summer, DT are playing shows in Turkey, South America, and Tunisia in April and May.

Tickets can be purchased here.

True Crime Duo SKYND Share "Heaven's Gate" Video

THE TRACK, REFERENCING THE NOTORIOUS CULT, CONCLUDES CHAPTER V

Industrial-tinged and true crime-inspired electronic duo SKYND is the dark creative outlet and the alter ego of its lead singer, Skynd, and producer and multi-instrumentalist Father. They are known for taking inspiration from inexplicable and brutal criminal cases and the mystery surrounding unsolved deaths, and transforming them into songs to remind us of the darkness within the human psyche, while taking great care to avoid any glorification.

Small clusters of songs have been released as EPs, titled in numbered chapters.

Today, SKYND conclude Chapter V with the release of "Heaven's Gate."

Watch the video below. Listen via your platform of choice here.

Heaven's Gate was a religious group, commonly regarded as a cult, that formed in 1974, and is most well known for one of the world's largest mass suicides of its members in March 1997. Learn more here.

Skynd ponders, "What personality and psychological factors are at play in people who readily submit their lives and wills to cult leaders such as Jim Jones and Marshall Applewhite? How can they not see these people are barking mad? The madness of the cult leader is usually not apparent when the person first joins."

Skynd continues, "This is the second case I have written about a cult. Two cults that cannot be compared with each other and yet they have some (or a lot of) parallels. As incredible and bizarre as Heaven's Gate seems, there are still cults today that brainwash their followers. The whole concept of cults fascinates me because it's always the same thing. Usually, the takeover of your freedom, your thoughts, etc. is a very gradual process. And the taking away of a little piece of your freedom or identity is not seen as a big deal. It's just a small sacrifice for a good cause. The trouble is... those small sacrifices add up until they’re a huge pile of sacrifices. But by then you're so indoctrinated into the group that it really doesn't matter to you that much. You've bought into the group's message and mission. The group is your 'family' now. It’s their influence that drives you rather than your own inner voice of reason."

Skynd finishes, "Marshall Applewhite and Bonnie Nettles (known as Do and Ti) were able to appeal to members by reaching out to people disillusioned with society and religious spaces. Heaven's Gate first ran into a major problem in 1985, one that confronts many 'prophetic' religious leaders, cult or otherwise. When Ti passed away in 1985 due to liver cancer, her body did not ascend per Heaven's Gate's theology. So, Do had to adapt his teachings to this observable contradiction of the cult's beliefs. I personally blame Marshall for continuing anyway, even though he knew it was a total lie."

Long-time collaborator and accomplished film maker PR Brown, who directed the song's official video comments, "Creating the video for 'Heaven's Gate' posed a unique challenge. How do we show the horror of 39 people who died because a man convinced them that they would all transform into eternal alien beings? We wanted to reveal Marshall Applewhite as an ominous religious figure. Then, as the video progresses, we wanted to show that it was all just a grift from a mentally unstable man. Skynd masterfully narrates us through the multiple layers, like peeling back layers of an onion, to get us to the ultimate truth."

SKYND are currently lining up festival appearances for 2024, with slots already confirmed at Graspop, With Full Force, Tons Of Rock, and Motorcultor. For a full list of SKYND performances, visit here.

ABOUT SKYND:
We all conceal something behind the earthly façade we show to the world. Maybe it's an unspoken fetish. Perhaps it's a covetous urge. Or it could just be the kind of darkness we acknowledge in passing —but don't dare reference out loud. SKYND peel back those layers and uncover what lurks beneath in all of its painful glory. The industrialized gothic electronic duo — Skynd [lead vocals] and "Father" [producer, multi-instrumentalist] — exorcize beauty by bloodletting as they mine some of history’s most baffling, bizarre, and brutal crimes across their EPs.

SKYND released Chapter I in 2018, which included Korn's Jonathan Davis as a special guest on "Gary Heidnik." Chapter II followed in 2019. Chapter III comprised "Chris Watts," "Michelle Carter," and "Columbine," the latter featuring a guest spot from noted hip-hop artist Bill $aber. Chapter IV focussed on "Armin Meiwes," "John Wayne Gacy," and "Edmund Kemper."

Each chapter continues SKYND's exploration of the darkest and most disturbing parts of the human psyche, following their belief that "those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." Chapter V began in August 2023 with "Robert Hansen" and continued with "Bianca Devins," named more unusually for the victim. "Heaven's Gate" is their latest release and concludes this chapter.

To date, SKYND's music has racked up 30.5 million streams on their Spotify channel alone, their official YouTube channel has amassed over 45 million views.

Intervals Announces New Album 'memory palace' Out Friday May 17 + New Music Video "neurogenesis (feat. KOAN Sound)"

It's a great day to be an Intervals fan! The innovative instrumental metal outfit has today announced their upcoming new album 'memory palace' set for release on Friday, May 17. In celebration of the news, the band released a new track "neurogenesis" featuring acclaimed genre-blending electronic duo KOAN Sound plus the official music video. Not only that, but North American fans also have their chance to see the band hit the stage with Hail The Sun, Body Thief and Makari beginning tomorrow (Friday, March 8) starting in Indianapolis, IN, and again in May with Mammoth WVH (ticket information here). Speaking about today's news, Intervals ringleader and mastermind Aaron Marshall shared:

"I'm very excited to finally share more new music with everyone, and to officially announce the release of "memory palace". We've all been really happy with the reception to the first single ("mnemonic") that came out last year, so it feels good to let people in on the sound a little more, and to tell everyone about this new record!

In regards to "neurogenesis", this is a tune that was meant to happen for some time now. After the release of 'Circadian', I had actually been in touch with the KOAN Sound guys about potentially having them remix something from the record, which didn't come to fruition with everyone getting busy again after some unintended time away from the road, but we did stay in touch about future collaborations down the line, and I'm so hyped we made this happen. Drum and bass has always had a strong influence on me, and while I've alluded to, or borrowed from the style in subtle ways over time, delving further into the sound has been something I'm naturally drawn to. Collaborating with Jim & Will on this song was such a joy, and something I'm super proud of. I feel like we achieved this really unique blend of their sound, while still keeping the core of the Intervals live band at the center, which makes for this really fresh hybrid of synthesized elements, and real world performance, which precisely meets the mark of what I think we set out to achieve.

Visually, I tapped into the mind of my good friend Sam Beck who went over and above to bring the core elements of the "memory palace" album art (by Mihailo Kalabic) to life in such a gripping, high energy video companion to the tune. Definitely head over to YouTube and take a look, if you haven't yet!

aaaand we're kicking off a co-headline tour with our friends in Hail The Sun + support from Body Thief & Makari this Friday! We'll be on the road across the US + Toronto & Montreal until about mid April (dates and tickets at www.intrvls.com) We've got a wild set dialed in for this one, featuring both the two singles out now, another new tune that isn't out (just yet), and some previous material we've never played live before. We've also got a full spread of new merch, and you can come learn more about the new record (which is available now for pre-order online) at the table! These shows are going to be really fun and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone out there!"

Prior to today, Intervals shared "mnemonic" which can also be found on the forthcoming full-length. Pre-order 'memory palace' here and watch the music video for "neurogenesis (feat. KOAN Sound)" below.

Intervals exist as the unbound and unapologetic creative expression of Aaron Marshall. The progressive guitar rock faithful revere Marshall for his virtuoso chops and melodic prowess in equal measure. His distinctive character and musical personality shine throughout the heady, catchy, and transcendent instrumental compositions found across the ever-growing catalog of Intervals albums.

The music is a window into the Toronto, Ontario, guitarist’s mind, body, and soul. Songs like Libra, 5-HTP, Belvedere, I’m Awake, and mnemonic rank among the most popular in the genre. Metal Injection describes Intervals as “catchy-as-hell shred.” Sonic Perspectives declared the band’s fourth album, 2020’s 'Circadian', “strikes the perfect balance between shred, songwriting, and melody.”

A trio of gifted touring and recording musicians surround Marshall as they collectively share Intervals’ songs with the world: drummer Nathan Bulla, bassist Jacob Mansky, and guitarist Travis LeVrier. They consistently stun audiences, including on celebrated treks with Spiritbox, TesseracT, Animals As Leaders, Polyphia, Periphery, Protest The Hero, and Between The Buried And Me

The earliest Intervals offerings, including two EPs and 2014’s full-length debut, A Voice Within (the sole album with lead vocals), were decidedly heavy and aggressive. Heralded by MetalSucks as “fantastic” and “lacking virtually nothing,” 2015’s The Shape of Colour ventured in a new direction. Intervals' fourth album was appropriately titled The Way Forward. “Employing many of the same techniques as technical progressive metal but in a major-key, upbeat framework has been Intervals’ calling card,” wrote Metal Hammer. “[The Way Forward] is a purer distillation of [Marshall’s] aim.”

Circadian marked Intervals’ first collaboration with Sam Guiana (Silverstein, Neck Deep, Holding Absence). memory palacebrilliantly celebrates the best of Intervals’ past, present, and future. The album is diverse, uplifting, and crushingly heavy. Also produced by Guaiana, memory palace includes collaborations with KOAN Sound (“neurogenesis”), J3PO (“galaxy brain”), and OBLVYN (“lacuna”).

Fiercely independent and precision-focused but never lacking in uplifting vibe and fun, Intervals continues to grow from Marshall’s strong roots in authenticity, instinct, and trusting one’s gut. - Ryan Downey

Lightworker Share "Burn Scar" Video

San Francisco's Lightworker Joe Calderon [vocals], Grayson Hurd[guitar], and Ryan Johnson [drums]  recently announced their new album How the Beautiful Decay will land on April 19 via Solid State Records. Pre-order it here.

Today, the band has shared the video for "Burn Scar." Watch it BELOW.

"Put simply, 'Burn Scar' is a song about resisting the barriers society has instilled in us in favor of showing each other love and compassion," the band says. "It's a sincere hope that we have the courage to accept our faults, learn from them, and to nurture not only each other's friendships and community, but where we also inhabit before it's too late."

Lightworker first emerged with the Resilience EP in 2017. Their signature sound cemented on 2020's full-length debut, Fury by Failure. It tallied over a million streams powered up by the likes of "Empyre," "The Willing Martyr," and "Words Dissolve" [feat. Ryan Kirby of Fit For A King]. Meanwhile, a 2021 cover of the Hoobastank hit "Crawling in the Dark" maintained their momentum. During 2022, they recorded How The Beautiful Decay with Beau Burchell of Saosin in the producer's chair. The musicians made a conscious decision to let their heavier impulses lead the way in the studio. As a result, How the Beautiful Decay is a master class in beautiful brutality.

Lightworker will also embark on a short tour with Eyes Set To Kill, beginning tomorrow. All confirmed dates are below.

ABOUT DAYSEEKER:
Dayseeker are a quiet killer. The band has steadily built a buzz over the past several years — and they have reached a tipping point. Dayseeker have become a scene standout with 2019's Sleeptalk, which was hailed by Alternative Press as  "a warm and welcome release to higher ground" and as "much needed fresh air into the post-hardcore scene.

The album has gone on to accumulate over 125 million streams, and it positioned the band as a formidable force — and one that is primed to take its next big leap. In 2021, the band dropped a deluxe version of Sleeptalk, featuring four reimagined versions of album tracks, which offered fans a fresh and unique take on songs they already love. It also demonstrated the depth and breadth of the band's creative vision, scope, and possibilities. However, Dark Sun catapulted the band beyond the scene's stratosphere. The album is out now via Spinefarm and is at 80 millions streams.

ABOUT SPINEFARM:
Spinefarm represents some of the biggest and most important rock acts in the world. Founded in Finland in 1990, the label established itself as an independent powerhouse for successful European metal acts from Nightwish to Children Of Bodom. Acquired by UMG in 2002, Spinefarm Music Group is now home to a host of artists that reach millions of fans across the globe and showcases the very best in rock, punk and metal. From massive metal names such as Bullet For My Valentine (with over 3 billion streams to their name) to alt-rock legends Killing Joke and genre-benders Sleep Token, Spinefarm's artists are — and always have been —true leaders in their chosen field. The roster also includes renowned names like Atreyu, Airbourne, Saint Asonia, and While She Sleeps, as well as fast-rising young artists like Dayseeker, Dead Poet Society, Kid Kapichi, BRKN LOVE, and Creeper. Spinefarm, now flanked by associated SMG labels Candlelight (Emperor, Ihsahn, Urne) and Snakefarm (Marty Stuart, Austin Meade, The White Buffalo), has grown from its independent origins into a true global rock powerhouse.

NIGHT VERSES x Brandon Boyd Drop Official Music Video For "Glitching Prisms"

"Night Verses still shreds" - Metal Injection

"re-establishes the band as one of the most rightfully revered among progressive metal." - Knotfest.com

"a beast-mode reintroduction to venerated guitarist Nick DePirro." - Guitar World

"a phenomenal return from one of our generation’s most thrilling progressive rock acts" - Boolin Tunes

"Night Verses is still the gold standard for technical instrumental music" - Everything Is Noise

Progressive metal trailblazers, Night Verses, have released the official music video for their recently released track featuring Brandon Boyd, "Glitching Prisms" featuring the iconic vocals of Incubusfrontman, Brandon Boyd. Watch Below.

Taken from the second part of their phenomenal double album 'Every Sound Has A Color In The Valley Of Night', releasing via Equal Vision Records. This release marks the second chapter of their album following the acclaimed Part I in September 2023, which marked their explosive return from a five-year hiatus and will be released on March 15th, when the whole album will be available to listen to as a full body of work for the first time. Pre-order 'Every Sound Has A Color In The Valley Of Night' HERE.

Speaking on the track, Night Verses share

“Brandon has such an undeniably unique approach to his instrument. When collaborating with artists of his nature, you often expect to have to bend to their undeniable strengths to make it work. However when writing ‘Glitching Prisms’ with him, his take on the song was instantly the missing piece. Everything he did stepped up the composition, and at the same time was so different from what we initially imagined. I don’t think any of us could be happier with how it turned out.”

With over 15 million career streams and an enormous, ever growing amount of critical acclaim, Night Verses are poised to continue their ascent to new creative heights, affirming their status as pioneers and innovators within the world of heavy music. 'Every Sound Has A Color In The Valley Of Night' sees NIGHT VERSES tear up the rulebook once again with a kaleidoscopic vision. Truly living up to the accolade given to them by Noisey, who referred to the band as “the Salvador Dali of Progressive metal”.

ABOUT NIGHT VERSES:

Hailing from Fullerton, CA, NIGHT VERSES first galvanized listeners with their 2012  EP ‘Out Of The Sky’, merging prog, alt-metal, post-rock and ambient electronica into their own intoxicating strain of cinematic metal.

They continued to hone their bold songwriting and genre-bending musicianship on their debut full-length, 2014’s ‘Lift Your Existence’. After the mass critical acclaim that followed, they returned in 2016 with the full-length ‘Into The Vanishing Light’ produced by legendary producer Ross Robinson (Slipknot, At The Drive In). The album was the band’s first release after signing with Equal Vision Records, and marked their last album with a vocalist.

The band released their first instrumental album 2018, with the critically acclaimed ‘From The Gallery Of Sleep’, which cemented them as fearless, genre-defying innovators. Dubbed “The Salvador Dali of prog-metal” by Noisey / Vice, the album was hailed as "boundary-breaking prog" (Revolver), "ambitious and creative" (Exclaim!) and "a layered prog masterpiece" (Distorted Sound).

Now after a 5-year wait that's felt like an eternity, NIGHT VERSES are back to reclaim their rightful place at the forefront of progressive heavy music. With over 15 million career streams and unanimously glowing critical praise for their first four releases, the stage is set for NIGHT VERSES to ascend to even greater heights.

Alpha Wolf Share New Video "Whenever You're Ready"

Aussie metalcore behemoths Alpha Wolf have unveiled "Whenever You're Ready," a compelling and cathartic new cut taken from the band's upcoming third full length album, Half Living Things, due out Friday April 5 via Greyscale Records and SharpTone Records.

Pre-order it here.

Pushing their own limitless boundaries and exploring new musical terrain, "Whenever You're Ready" opens with hazy ambience before evolving with haunting beats and searing vocals, showcasing a bewitching new side of Alpha Wolf, built firmly around its soaring melodic chorus and stirring subject matter.

"Alpha Wolf like to let our listeners expect the unexpected at all times and 'Whenever You’re Ready' is a testament to exactly that," the band shares. "We could feel the impact of this song from the moment the first chords were written. Dancing around on our melodic side, this song touches on the complications between people with a deep connection to one another and ultimately losing them. Everyone has a story to tell in this regard and this is ours."

On album number three, Alpha Wolf harness and heighten their trademark intensity, crafting the self-produced Half Living Things in 2023 entirely on their own terms. A collection of tracks that are simultaneously heavy, fun as hell, and beating with chugs, grooves, melodics, breakdowns, and more, Half Living Things is a hard-hitting celebration of the entire Alpha Wolf sonic gamut that stings and salves equally with dazzling finesse.

"There can be no inner conflict without the constant tug of war between desire and disdain, the things you want versus the things you need, or the things that make you feel alive against the parts of it that do not," Lochie shares about the album. "You cannot grow new parts without leaving the dead ones behind. You cannot be settled until you have truly known the opposite. Find out what makes you tick and just keep running around the clock until you're happy enough to die.”

The road has been far from easy for Alpha Wolf but they refuse to let anything stand in their way. Throughout the chaotic and turbulent times of the pandemic, the band released their sophomore album A Quiet Place To Die in 2020 to critical acclaim, including a #6 spot on the ARIA charts and a nomination for Best Heavy Album at the ARIA awards, and multiple sold-out shows around Australia, Europe, UK, U.S., and Asia.

In 2022, Alpha Wolf released a split EP, The Lost & The Longing, with Welsh rockers Holding Absence, and also launched CVLTFEST, their very own curated festival aimed to showcase the best Aussie talent in the heavy scene alongside some exciting international acts. And furthering their global reach to new heights in 2023, Alpha Wolf recently embarked on their biggest North American run to date with Motionless in White, and also tore up multiple stages at home earlier this year as part of the inaugural Knotfest Australia with Slipknot, Parkway Drive, and Megadeth.

Recently releasing the single "Bring Back The Noise," a neck-snapping delight that will also feature on Half Living Things, Alpha Wolf are also currently on the road supporting The Amity Affliction regionally, before headlining the return of their very own festival CVLTFEST in February, alongside Emmure, Crossfaith, Ocean Grove, and more.

Alpha Wolf know how far they have come, but it's what lays ahead of them that's keeping the band hungry.

The Native Howl Drop New Single + Music Video "Mercy" featuring Lzzy Hale via Sumerian Records

Purveyors of their own distinctive, genre-blurring sound "Thrash Grass", The Native Howl has released their gritty new single and official music video for "Mercy" featuring Lzzy Hale of Halestorm (via Sumerian Records). With foreboding, foot-stomping rhythm, and the band's raw intensity paired with Lzzy's inimitable vocals, "Mercy" is bound to rattle listeners down to the bone. When asked about today's release, the band shared:

‘Mercy’ was written as our original Thrash Grass anthem, and to have our vocal hero Lzzy Hale singing on it is nothing short of a dream come true!

‘Mercy’ subtly tells the story of infamous Boston gangster Whitey Bulger, and the dichotomy of dark and light between him and his disgraced politician brother William. While pulling from additional themes of organized religion and corruption, the music bed's growth in intensity throughout attempts to paint the process of all evil and wrong-doing slowly being brought to light.

Speaking about The Native Howl, Lzzy Hale also commented:

I fell in love with Native Howl from the moment they walked on stage at the Troubadour. I could feel their energy before they even played the first note. For those few minutes of performance I was entertained in a way I haven’t felt in years. These boys are doing something special, unapologetically…and that is the magic. I was a judge on the show No Cover, but not when these boys played, I was, and forever will be a fan. The only thing sweeter than their incredible mash up of influence and top tier musicianship, is their big hearts. Good luck world…The Native Howl are about to set you on fire.

The band previously released "Can't Sleep" and "Sons of Destruction" after winning Season 1 of the hit TV series No Cover and signing with Sumerian Records. Stream "Mercy" here and watch the incredible music video below.

North American fans have their opportunity to see The Native Howl bring their incendiary live show with Clutch and Blacktop Mojo beginning in late April. For ticket information please click here, and be sure to stay tuned for more news from The Native Howl coming very soon.

The Native Howl is a genre-defying quartet hailing from Leonard, Michigan, USA. Their fast-tempo music they’ve coined as “Thrash Grass” combines the aggression and intensity of thrash metal with the precision and melodicism of bluegrass. The band was born from a musical experiment that defied all expectations by blending elements of folk, bluegrass, rock, and metal, resulting in a sound entirely their own. With a dash of outlaw spirit and a touch of the wilderness, their music transports listeners to a sonic landscape where the traditional meets the contemporary. From foot-stomping bluegrass jams to lightning-fast metal-esque banjo picking, their tracks are a musical thrill ride that keeps the listener guessing with each note. Their lyrics often explore the dark sides of the human condition, nature, and the trials of life, creating a deep and personal connection with their audience.

FOLTERKAMMER Shares BTS Footage for the Making of "Leck Mich!" Music Video

Operatic black metal rising stars FOLTERKAMMER are now sharing a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the band's Rococo "Fight Club" style music video for the song "Leck Mich!" The video was once again directed by FOLTERKAMMER drummer Brendan McGowan and produced by Vile Luxe Studios. Watch the making of "Leck Mich!" below.

The original video is 18th century class against 21st century crass; a bloody journey into the Rococo underground and its lustful ringleader, vocalist and frontwoman Andromeda Anarchia. The clip can be found HERE.

The song is taken from the band's sophomore full-length, 'Weibermacht,' which is due on April 19, 2024 via Century Media Records!

'Weibermacht' serves as a counterpart to the band's 2020 debut, 'Die Lederpredigt.' The new record is another searing blend of modern black metal and classical music elements, lending to its Avant Garde sound. The music itself is elevated by frontwoman and vocalist Andromeda Anarchia's dynamic vocal work as she juxtaposes her classical training as an opera singer with her hellfire screams, summoning a maelstrom of ethereal chaos. Pre-orders are now live HERE.

In addition, FOLTERKAMMER has recently announced their first ever U.S. tour! The rising powerhouse will be embarking on an East Coast headliner with support from WITCHING, which kicks off on March 22 in Baltimore and will circle back to the band's hometown of Brooklyn, NY on March 30. The full itinerary can be found below!

Founded in New York around 2018/2019, Folterkammer, or “Torture Chamber,” is the operatic black metal outfit that is redefining modern music. This ingenious band seamlessly fuses beauty with brutality. A combination of raw passion and technique contributes to the epic nature of Folterkammer’s dark art. Their work is both nostalgic and remarkably fresh. Yes, Folterkammer fuses various musical traditions and genres to craft an unparalleled experience.

Folterkammer is composed of Andromeda Anarchia on vocals, Zachary Ezrin on guitars, Darren Hanson on guitars, Laurent David on bass, and Brendan McGowan on drums. Both Anarchia, who hails from Switzerland, and David, who was born in Paris, divide their time between Europe and Brooklyn. Thus, even though the group can be described as international, Anarchia states: “It took New York to create Folterkammer.” Her project Andromeda Anarchia’s DARKMATTERS acted as the catalyst that brought her to the Big Apple, where she met Ezrin. Many metalheads already know that Anarchia has appeared as a guest on the three most recent albums by Ezrin’s brainchild Imperial Triumphant — a leading avant-garde band that marries extreme metal, jazz, classical components, etc. McGowan has also provided guest vocals for Imperial Triumphant, and Hanson lent his songwriting excellence to their 2012 instrumental track “Scaphism.”

Ezrin, McGowan, and Hanson have a wealth of shared history. These friends attended college together in California, where Hanson and Ezrin studied classical composition. Thus, much of Folterkammer’s orchestration is classically based. Hanson harbors a special love of Baroque music and knows precisely how to expertly wed it with his passion for black metal. Folterkammer was actually conceived when Ezrin proposed that Anarchia collaborate with him on some of Hanson’s material. Ezrin writes killer riffs and more for the band. McGowan was invited to join Folterkammer on Hanson’s wise suggestion. His drums are perhaps the heaviest element keeping one of Folterkammer’s limbs firmly anchored in traditional black metal. McGowan mines inspiration from different generations of acts: He names 1349 and old-school heroes like Blasphemy and Marduk. That said, black metal fans will also be pleased to hear the spirit of the second wave in the aggression of Folterkammer’s tremolo picking, for example.

The exceptionally skilled David, Folterkammer’s newest weapon, truly perfects the group with his golden touch on bass. Whereas the bass is not always as prominent as it could be in the content of many black metal groups, Folterkammer purposely allows David’s bass to shine through. Like his bandmates, David is an avid consumer of several forms of music, and thus creates delightfully eclectic art. He has received both classical and jazz training. This major talent has toured worldwide alongside musicians and bands such as Ibrahim Maalouf, Guillaume Perret & The Electric Epic, Yael Naim, and Shijin. David has done so both as a side man and as a band leader/producer. Anarchia and Ezrin already knew David before asking him to join Folterkammer. After all, David founded the “avant metal-jazz trio” Kilter of which Imperial Triumphant’s Kenny Grohowski is an essential part.

Insanity Alert Announce New Album

All too often, the world can feel so dark and heavy that everyone seems to have lost their collective minds. But one band are hell-bent on partying like there's no tomorrow.

Though they were formed out of the powdered slopes of Austria, Insanity Alert have a different style of shredding in mind. Their undying allegiance to '80s crossover thrash is only rivaled by their craving for a juicy moshburger and an ice-cold 666 pack.

Today, Insanity Alert are announcing a new EP. Moshemian Thrashodyputs a fun, frothy and snot-nosed spin on four familiar classics, though the inspiration behind the lead single might surprise you.

Watch the video for "Beerless Fiesta" BELOW

Moshemian Thrashody comes out May 17 on Season of Mist.

Pre-order: https://shop.season-of-mist.com/list/insanity-alert-moshemian-thrashody

Pre-save: https://orcd.co/moshemianthrashodypresave

It makes sense that Insanity Alert parody Queen, Guns 'N' Roses and Iron Maiden on Moshemian Thrashody. After all, these speed freaks will go to comically absurd lengths when paying homage to the classics. So when the video for "Beerless Fiesta" opens with a faint but familiar waft of saxophone, it throws you for a loop, like an edible that your friends swore was just a regular old brownie.

Wait, are they about to rip on...George Michael?

"I'm never gonna drink again", Heavy Kevy screams in agony, as if wrapped around the toilet. If this band are so much as entertaining the idea of sobriety, then you know they're battling one hell of a hangover. But their new single only goes to show that Insanity Alert aren't hopping on the wagon anytime soon. When the thrash riffs start spilling forth like a frothy beer bong, that means it's time to jump in the mosh pit.

"Moshemian Thrashody rides the thin line between familiar and super awkward", says Insanity Alert. "It's like getting shitfaced with your favorite highschool teacher".

The video for "Beerless Fiesta" was produced, filmed and edited by Max "Mugs" Raggl in Innsbruck, Austria ( www.mugs.at ).

The concept was created by Heavy Kevy and Insanity Alert.

Praise for Insanity Alert

"Maddening and powerful thrash from guys who understand the sound and culture" - Metal Injection

"Experts in crafting immense and blistering fun" - Distorted Sound

"Heavy, fast, old-school and right in your face" - Grimm Gent

"They make quite a noise...combining retro thrash with their own boozy brand of skateboarding-crossover thrash which hits at such a speed that by the time you've slapped the disc on you're already getting back off your arse to play it again" - Metal Forces

[Movie trailer voice] In a world that’s plagued by war, natural disasters and TikTok dance challenges, one band are hell-bent on partying like there’s no tomorrow. Sure, the hangovers might hit a little harder now that they’re four albums in. But on Moshemian Thrashody, Insanity Alert are still nothing but a good time.

Ski parties visit Austria for its powdered slopes, but when Insanity Alert banded together from around Innsbruck in 2011, these adrenaline junkies had a different, more dangerous type of shredding in mind.  Their destructive appetite for ‘80s crossover thrash is only rivaled by an unquenchable thirst for ice-cold beer.

While under the influence of older party monsters like Suicidal Tendencies and Municipal Waste, Insanity Alert roll their riffs with the same strand of humor as labelmates Cannabis Corpse. Their songs parody everyone from perennial punching bags like David Guetta and Milli Vanilli to sacred cows Iron Maiden.

“We think of our renditions as tributes to the greatness of the original songs”, the band says. “Mixing their greatness with our blend of speed, fun, brutality and weirdness just feels right.

On the strength of their demo tape alone, Insanity Alert sent skate punks and metalheads running into the pit. First Diagnosis was quickly confirmed by follow-up EP Second Opinion. Critics properly diagnosed their self-titled full-length as a much-needed dose of derangement, but the band has upped their prescription of snot-nosed speed and grinding d-beats with each release.

Moshburger was served up in 2016 while Insanity Alert were on tour with Hatebreed, Madball, Terror and Power Trip. They then shared a 666-Pack with festivalgoers at Wacken Open Air. With names like Slapmaster Puke and The Inphiltrator, this band will go to comically absurd lengths just to jump into the circle pit with their fans -- so long as there’s a full fridge and good bud(s) waiting backstage. When Insanity Alert played the main stage at Hellfest in 2019, Dave of the Death could barely feel his fretting hand after taking one heck of a stage dive the night before.

Moshemian Thrashody keeps the festivities going with new parodies of familiar classics like Guns N’ Roses and Iron Maiden. One might surprise you, though. Lead single “Beerless Fiesta” gives the crossover thrash treatment to (checks notes) George Michael? Insanity Alert aren’t going into mosh retirement anytime soon, though. The title track sees Queen’s theatrics and raises it with a clown car full of hijinks, including a Hauwitzer guitar solo that pops off like a bottle of champagne. Don Melanzani chugs down blast beats as the band joins in an acapella gang chant about “letting it snow” with Santa Claus that’s rowdier than a German beer hall.

“These are some killer tunes that we threw in our drunken 420 blender”, says Heavy Kevy. “Moshemian Thrashody rides the thin line between familiar and super awkward – like seeing your old grandpa in the mosh pit or masturbating for the first time with your other hand”.

After almost 15 years of bringing crossover thrash to party animals everywhere, Insanity Alert will still go anywhere the weed blows.

New Jersey rockers Quiz Show previews 'Super Concrete' single from new EP

"Inescapable catchiness, rawness and youthful spunk – Quiz Show is extending an undeniably attractive invitation to superb punk-kilned indie rock" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Quiz Show is what pop music would have sounded like if punk had had a more significant and longer-lasting effect on modern music" ~ The Big Takeover

"A new sonic force to be reckoned with... That’s a bit unfair as Quiz Show, comprised of members of such luminaries as Shudder To Think, Guided By Voices and The Dambuilders, has been making music since 2017" ~ Second Scene Magazine

"Gloriously shambolic post punk/alt rock goodness" ~ The Ginger Quiff

"A sonic Trojan horse able to smuggle the forces of swagger, attitude, and outsiderness into the mainstream, hidden in a construct of melody and infectiousness" ~ Dancing About Architecture

New Jersey-based indie rock trio Quiz Show presents their new 'Super Concrete' single. This is the first taste of their 'Flotsam' EP, which will be released via Montclair, NJ-based Magic Door Record Label.

Quiz Show is made up of Shudder To Think's Chris Matthews and bassist Jesse Krakow, together with drummer Joe Billy, who replaces the original drummer Kevin March (Guided By Voices, The Dambuilders).

Found floating or washed up by the sea, 'Flotsam' represents the shattered, lost stories of people’s lives. It’s easy to ignore, but perhaps there is value in treating flotsam as a mystery to solve, a story to tell, a lost connection between past and present waiting to be discovered.

Recorded and produced by award-winning producer Ray Ketchem (Guided By Voices, Luna, Versus, Elk City, Gramercy Arms) at his Magic Door Recording Studio, this EP was engineered by Ketchem with Brian Robbins (Blondie, Bring Me The Horizon, Papa Roach).

"Super Concrete was the name of the company my brother worked for before he passed. He was a different sort of person, mostly a source of the unexpected, and usually trouble. Many wrote him off as poorly adjusted – as flotsam – but that’s not even close. So, while he may have lived a nontraditional life working at Super Concrete, living in DC’s gay community, and making a home with his boyfriend, he created a life of beauty and purpose," says Chris Matthews.

"These songs are the first that the current Quiz Show lineup wrote together from scratch. We each added our instrumental work and vocals, but in the process discovered something new and unexpected– a whole that was far more than the sum of its parts. This EP offers three original songs that tell stories about living – both now and in the past. There is something melancholy about the record, but also a resonant chord of joy and perseverance."

In 2023, the band released their 12-track eponymous debut album to wide acclaim - an electrifying collection that is full of protest, friendship and frustration.

As of March 5, 'Super Concrete' is available via Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. The full 'Flotsam' EP will be released on March 29 and can be pre-ordered directly from the band.

Rick Monroe & The Hitmen Premieres "Worth The Hurt" Music Video on Rock Rage Radio!

TLG/Virgin Music Group recording artists Rick Monroe & The Hitmen continue to gather momentum for their latest single "Worth The Hurt" (currently bubbling under at #52 on last week's SMR chart while maintaining its top-10 standing among the Most Adds of active/mainstream rock in secondary markets). To support its upward climb, the group is pleased to premiere the official music video TODAY exclusively through Rock Rage Radio.

Additionally, "Worth The Hurt" has been made available in Dolby Atmos, a new spacial audio technology that allows you to "hear music like you've never heard it before" and deliver the ULTIMATE listening experience for fans and audiophiles to enjoy.

"Even though it adds several steps to the mixing and mastering process, getting the track on Atmos was important to us," says Monroe."We wanted fans to know... just like the single says, that they are 'Worth The Hurt.' We aren't doing our work as a band if we aren't striving to provide the best quality music we can to our fans. That's our job," he says."Now, it's the fan's job to go out and give it a listen!"

Co-written by Monroe, Jared Weeks and Scott Wilson of Saving Abel, and multi-Grammy and multi-Dove award-winning producer and composer, Skidd Mills (Skillet, Third Day, Saliva, Katie Arminger), who also produced the track, "Worth The Hurt" is an angsty, uptempo banger that highlights the addictive qualities and unhealthy co-dependence of a love gone wrong.

"You guys are so talented, it's stupid."

Shawn Drover - Drummer (Megadeth)

"Great crossover song!"

Don Jamieson - Comedian ("That Metal Show")

"This was such a fun song to write, and I love that groove it delivers all the way through. It's a crossover for you for sure. I'm proud of it!"

- Jared Weeks (Saving Abel)

Stream / download "Worth The Hurt" at https://ffm.to/worththehurt

The single serves as a tantalizing preview of the exceptional content that awaits fans in the group's highly anticipated, full-length vinyl project, SIX GUN SOUL, scheduled for release on April 12. This album features previously acclaimed singles such as "World's Gone Crazy" and "God's Ear", the latter earning praise from discerning critics like Robert K. World-class entertainers Rick Monroe & The Hitmen have no desire to trace the trail of every trend. Instead, they serve up a “poly-jam-orous” recipe they call “Blue Jean Rock” --artistically organic and spiced with a heavy blend of their musical influences to reflect country sensibilities with a rock and roll beat. As a result, the group has built a solid legion of fans across the globe and recently surpassed over 4.3 MILLION logged views on YouTube and over one MILLION captured streams without the benefit of ever appearing on a core editorial playlist.

Monroe brings his music and a magnetic presence wherever he goes and is no stranger to the stage: he’s performed in 17 countries – and every U.S. state including Washington DC & Puerto Rico. The seven-time Jägermeister Country Brand Ambassador has toured with Queensrӱche, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eric Church, Dierks Bentley, Lee Bice, Aaron Lewis, Eli Young Band, Pat Green, and Randy Houser, as well as has opened for Country Music Legends like Charlie Daniels Band, Dwight Yoakam, Travis Tritt, Patty Loveless and more. He has entertained the USO, AFE, U.S. troops in Vietnam, and former Soviet President, Mikhail Gorbachev. His brother called him “Elvis Gump” because of all the amazing people and places his career has led him.

For those unfamiliar with his music, Rick advises them to come to the show for a good time and to be ready for “just about anything.” “I love to play,” the singer notes. “And I want everyone to play along. I like to think of my shows as an interactive sport"--one that he will now play with the help of his permanent bandmates, Bobby Perkins (guitar), Alan Beeler (bass), and Jason Bohl (drums), also known as The Hitmen because "they kill it every single night!"

Rick enjoys sponsorships and endorsements with NOS/Full Throttle energy drink, Number Juan Tequila, Tony Chachare’s® Famous Creole Cuisine, Remington, GHS Strings, SE electronics, Roper Western Wear, Shubb Capos, Speakeasy Original, Westone Audio & Fishman Audio.

The Iron Roses Announce Share "Soldier of Fortune" Video // Announce North America Tour

"The Iron Roses' self-titled album is more ambitious both musically and thematically than most artists choose (or even would be allowed) to go on a debut" — SPIN

"Don’t sleep on The Iron Roses self-titled album. It is a great fucking listen" — New Noise Magazine

“"..melodic punk perfection, lyrically challenging but musically letting loose. Each of the eleven tracks delivers a defiant manifesto that you can dance into the dark times to" — The Punk Site

Released on October 20, THE IRON ROSES smashed onto the punk scene with a self-titled album that set the political world ablaze. Perhaps said best in a review by SPIN, they have created a "collection of songs from people who have been around long enough to know how the world works, what they like about it and what they won't tolerate any longer."

Angst-filled, sure, but hopeful, THE IRON ROSES create music videos that invoke triumph and joy in a world where policies are forever changing. Filmed on their last show of their recent European tour and directed by Gideon Rothmann, the band presents their newest video for "Soldier of Fortune."

Nathan and Becky further explain, "It holds such an important message for so many who have felt betrayed by those they once looked up to. After the album's release, we found that this song empowered many voices who have felt unheard, and it has been an incredible challenge to those who look the other way instead of calling out problematic behavior."

If your musical curiosities have been peaked by this high-energy punk band who utilize love, brazen lyrics and elements of multiple genres to embrace change and inspire hope, then sample their other video offerings for tracks:  "Screaming For A Change," "Justify The Lies," and "Old Guard."

Never ones to settle, please join us in celebrating the second pressing of their self-titled record on two new vinyl variants, available now at this location. Time to get up and grab yourself a ticket to see these tracks live with some of the most impassioned musicians punk has to offer.

ABOUT THE IRON ROSES:
The Iron Roses are a passionate, unique, and beautiful group of people making music that we hope will change the world. Fueled by the injustices of our current times - their songs are the kind of protest anthems that only a group of seasoned musicians could make. Still angry, still driven, and still screaming — this is a band that will never give up the fight, alongside a label that has made it a priority to provide music that is as important as it is impressive, Iodine Recordings. Yes, we can discuss their pedigree, most notably their frontperson Nathan Gray (of Boysetsfire), and their relentless touring and political activism. But none of those things matter if the songs don’t connect with the listener. And this collection of songs are going to do just that. From the opening notes of the first song the cards are on the table. The objective is clear – The Iron Roses are putting to words and music all the thoughts you’ve had these last few dark years. With the worldwide political climate leaning further and further from the left. With rights for many being limited and destroyed. With no end in sight. We need bands like The Iron Roses giving us a soundtrack to fight. Songs to pour our anger and frustration into when we sing along - just as they did when they wrote and recorded them. The beauty of seeing these six individuals singing their truth is astounding. Watching them grow from strength to strength in the last few years it is unsurprising that this record is the outcome. They, and their songs, represent such power, love, and passion — something that we need more than ever in this world today.

Northlane Share "Afterimage" Video

Northlane have revealed their stunning new single "Afterimage" featuring Ian Kenny of Karnivool. "Afterimage" is the third piece of new music from the band’s forthcoming EP, Mirror's Edge, out April 12 (Independent).

Watch the visualizer below.

Northlane recently debuted "Afterimage" in the live realm during their huge Australian tour, which set the internet alight and left fans hanging to hear the studio version. A nod to their Node-era, Northlane have always pointed to Karnivool as one of their biggest influences; Ian Kenny’s vocals sit so naturally in "Afterimage" that the song feels written just for him. It makes sense given, according to guitarist Jon Deiley, touring with Karnivool in 2013 had such a profound impact on his songwriting.

"Touring with Karnivool changed my perspective on songwriting by showing me a solid groove is more interesting than some flashy technical bit. Writing a good groove means you can exploit it in different ways while still keeping it interesting over time," says Deiley. "Karnivool influenced Northlane by showing us that songwriting and nailing every transition live is more important than jumping around. We hopped on the 'Asymmetry' tour years ago and were still riding the success of 'Singularity' when we discovered pretty quickly some fans just want to stand and enjoy you playing the music perfectly. I think that's where our unhealthy hyper-critical evaluation of our performance came from!"

A pensive song about reflecting on the past whilst looking ahead to a better future, "Afterimage" arrives after previous singles "Miasma" and "Dante" and is the final preview before Mirror's Edge arrives on April 12.

Mirror's Edge was recorded with their old friend and revered producer Will Putney in August this year. Described by Jon Deiley (songwriter/guitarist) as "the greatest hits of Northlane sounds," the EP is a nostalgic journey through all the colors on their sonic palette, with bonus shades from special guests Winston McCall (Parkway Drive) and Ian Kenny (Karnivool/Birds of Tokyo) — two of the most influential artists in Northlane's history. Their former bass player, Brendon Padjasek, also stopped by the studio to lend his scream to one of the tracks.

Penned just over a year after the release of their #1 award-winning album, Obsidian, the road to Mirror's Edge was a bumpy one. Instead of riding high from the success of the album, the simmering tension and communication breakdown between band members threatened to engulf Northlane at any moment. Northlane tackled their issues head-on at a writing retreat in Victoria's Yarra Valley, where they worked through their problems and unlocked new channels of creativity in the process that reflects through the EP. From the expansive prog of "Afterimage" to their signature bottom-heavy groove and viscous breakdown of "Kraft" and compulsive beat and electronic focus of "Dante," Mirror's Edge is full of Northlane's most vivid colours and textures.

Thematically, the EP is about looking at yourself and reflecting on the past one final time before leaving it all behind to find hope in what lies beyond the mirror's edge. With the recurring theme of acceptance binding these songs together, frontman Marcus Bridge is hopeful that Mirror's Edge will be the coda on this part of his personal life, so much of which he has shared in the last couple of Northlane releases.

"It's like looking at your reflection, looking at the past and everything I've been thinking about, or caught up within the last little while," Bridge says. "There's not much positivity in these songs, but it is about acceptance. Hopefully, by putting these songs out, I can leave that stuff behind and I can kind of find a new direction and something to be positive about on the other side of this mirror's edge."
