Murdersome metal trailblazers, Ice Nine Kills brought the latest chapter of their expansive cinematic universe to a brutal and sinister end last night as they premiered brand new ‘Silence of The Lambs’ inspired single and video “Meat & Greet” at an immersive event, hosted by INK frontman and maniacal mastermind, Spencer Charnas and entertainment journalist, Ryan J Downey. Fans tuned in from around the world to watch the event, that was also globally livestreamed on the band's YouTube channel from The Montalbán Theatre in Hollywood, CA. Dubbed “Ice Nine Kills Presents: Meat & Greet: The Horrorwood Saga Comes To A TASTEFUL End”, the delicious event marked the launch of “Meat & Greet” as part of a premiere screening of Ice Nine Kills’ complete Horrorwood Saga film. Composed of all eight of their official music videos from 2021’s chart topping album, ‘The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood’. This marked the first time the pieces of the Horrorwood puzzle were presented together as one cohesive film and gave fans both in attendance and watching around the world, the first look at the unsettling and blood soaked end to the epic saga with the addition of the grand finale - ‘Meat & Greet’. Manchester synthwave artist Richard Evans presents retro-futuristic 'Dream of the World' EP, inspired by a close brush with mortality

Manchester-based synthwave artist Richard Evans presents his new retro-futuristic EP 'Dream of the World', released via Cold Star Media. Recorded at Cold Star Studios in July 2023, the inspiring title track is about remaining positive even in the darkest times, as reflected in the accompanying video.

A British-Irish electronic musician, writer and digital media artist, Evans was previously keyboardist in UK cult band James, with whom he also co-wrote and recorded material. Previous to that, he was also guitarist and songwriter for St. Vitus Dancers.

Richard Evans' draws inspiration from real-world science, exploring biotechnology, machine intelligence and the environment. For this album, existing songs were refined and new material was written, combining the warmth of classic synths with pared-down lyrics that explore real-world subject matter.

This 3-track EP follows Evans' 2022 debut record 'Sentinel'. This electro-pop concept album explores micro-plastics, gene editing, stardust, technogenic disasters, human evolution, among other themes, this superb eight-track collection telling the story of humanity at a tipping point and a world trapped in a climate crisis.

"'Dream Of The World' is a call to action in the face of an unrelenting climate crisis and, on a personal level, it reflects on a health situation that affected me in late 2022. I was diagnosed with Miller Fisher Syndrome, a rare auto-immune disorder that impacts around one in a million people each year and is a variant of Guillain-Barre Syndrome. I found parallels between the life-threatening aspects of the climate crisis and a condition which decimated nearly all of my body’s functions," says Richard Evans.

"I literally woke up one morning in the midst of losing all muscle control. Over the course of a single day, I became unable to open my eyes, to sit, stand or walk, even to eat or swallow food. I was hospitalised for a month and for the first 10 days of this stay, there was a real risk of respiratory failure. Alongside a treatment plan, I kept going with positive visualisations, mentally depicting future times when I would be well again. If nothing else, this practice helped me find the strength to endure the most challenging experience of my life."

Evans adds, "Once I was released from hospital, music became an important part of my recovery - learning to sing and play keyboards again helped me regain control of my arms, hands and facial muscles. For a long time I had double vision and didn’t have the concentration to work on a computer. However I could play piano for short periods and was able to resume some vocal work after a couple of months. This phase created an unexpected change in my writing process, which previously was built around riffs and sequences developed on a computer. 'Dream Of The World' was composed entirely with piano and voice."

Continuing on from the 'Sentinel' album, the song 'Dream Of The World' reflects how the climate emergency is met with procrastination and indifference from most governments and corporations, as if the switch to zero carbon is somehow beyond human control. The lyrics are also about facing mortality on a personal level, with Evans singing, "I won’t bow to the hand of fate", emphasizing that we don’t always have to accept the hand we’re dealt.

With the sonically hypnotic effect of its single sequence and drum pattern,  
'2084' is about those who deny science and convince others of a different reality, underscored by the lyris "Hear the priests lie that black is white".

'Motherlode' is a previously unreleased track, recorded during the 'Sentinel' sessions in 2021. It's about the phenomena of algorithmic trading - flash trades - and how ‘the market’ advances in cities worldwide each day to relentlessly exploit planetary resources.

Richard Evans' output extends well beyond the musical realm. He recently received a New Ideas Fund award from Creative UK to develop a virtual production studio. The award supports content for future stage shows and a new sci-fi short film, called 'DeepSleep', which was written and directed by Richard and is due for release in 2024.

Since the early 1980s, Evans' independent creative projects have received nine awards from Arts Council England and a separate one from Creative England, in addition to being commissioned for various projects by the University of Manchester and the Manchester Science Festival.

Evans also wrote, directed and produced the science fiction drama 'AEON'. An author of many short stories, he also published the novel 'KOSMONAUT ZERO' (via Dead Ink), researched at Star City Cosmonaut Training Centre. He also oversaw the 'Gagarin 50' exhibition for the 50th anniversary of the first human spaceflight by Yuri Gagarin.

As of October 17, 'Dream of the World' is available everywhere online and can be obtained directly from the artist via Bandcamp, where the 'Sentinel' album can also be obtained.

On Thursday, November 23, Richard will perform extracts from 'Sentinel' at the Prism Winter Festival at Waterside, Sale, Manchester. Recordings of the live performance will then feature throughout the festival on November 24 and 25. This first outdoor presentation of 'Sentinel' involves the visuals being projected onto the exterior of the Waterside building.

HELGA premiere second track 'Burden'

A vast exploration of sonic textures present themselves on HELGA's premier album 'Wrapped in Mist', as chugging riffs, spectral strings and imposing drums converge into one.

The second single, 'Burden', recounts a tale of relinquishment and its complexity - introspective and intricate musical passages culminate in a reassuring mélange of emotions, as Helga recognizes having finally found her place in this world.

"The first track written for the album, ‘Burden’ was inspired by the pain of leaving my home in the Dalarna woods and the hope that comes with new connections and relationships", says vocalist Helga Gabriel.

Hailing from the Swedish hinterlands of Dalarna and
Halifax, West Yorkshire, HELGA amalgamated in 2019 in
York, North Yorkshire. United by singer, Helga Gabriel, the
quintet delve into a musical alchemy on their pursuit of

Murmurs), transcends forthwith into emotive dreamscapes
that leave hairs trembling, Ennio Morricone echoing as the
intro’s muse.

But as the journey through Wrapped in
Mist transpires, songs such as Farväl (Farewell) reveal
HELGA’s black metal and darker sensibilities. Bewitching
through this myriad range, the album’s waltzing coda flirts
with a melodic baroque that crescendos with Opeth-esque
climax.

The inception of Wrapped in Mist promises to plunge
HELGA deep into the spotlight of mesmerising live
performances following release. From the hills and forests
of rural dwelling, this is a band destined for a journey worth
following.

Like its predecessors, The Surface is an intensely personal and powerful journey for Shomo, who has never shied away from sharing his demons in his music and with his fans. ABOUT BEARTOOTH:
Caleb Shomo first turned the pain of his struggle with mental health and self-image into music in 2013. Beartooth began as a living document, a diary, a journal of repressed rage and depression. Alone in his basement studio, screaming and singing, playing all the instruments, and self-producing a batch of furious but melodic songs filled with reflection and confession, the Ohio native stared into the abyss, initially with no intention of returning to the heavy music world that burned him as a teen. A decade later, the different pieces of his body of work connect in title, sound, and spirit. As the frontman hits 30, Beartooth’s fifth album, he Surface, completes this era in 2023. Even more importantly, it kicks off a new chapter filled with surprising optimism and just as honest. Depression is a sick, disgusting, aggressive disease below the surface. Shomo stands ready to bask in the light.
 
Like Nine Inch Nails, Beartooth remains a one-person band in the studio. On the heels of the introductory Sick EP (2013), Disgusting (2014) produced the band's first Gold single, "In Between." Aggressive (2016) and Disease (2018) expanded on the desperation and pain, each a step closer to a balance between the blood and tears of classic recordings and the shimmer of modernity.  
 
Rolling Stone heralded Beartooth as one of 10 Artists You Need to Know. The rabid response to Shomo's music demonstrated how many people related to his struggle for self-acceptance. Below (2021) topped the Rock and Alternative charts and several Best Rock/Metal Albums of the Year lists. As of 2023, the Beartooth catalog boasts more than 1 billion streams across all platforms. 
 
Beartooth began as both bomb and balm, an outright refusal to suffer in silence, weaponizing radio-ready bombast, delivering raw emotion mixed with noise-rock chaos. Other bands play the "devastating riffs and catchy hooks" game, but this music is the difference between life and death, and now, a sort of life after death while still here. HARD ROCKERS SVEN GALI RETURN WITH EXPLOSIVE COMEBACK ALBUM BOMBS & BATTLE SCARS

SVEN GALI's trademark blend of heavy riffs, gritty vocals, and anthemic melodies span decades. Cutting their teeth in the bar circuit of Southern Ontario, Canada in the late 80’s, SVEN GALI’s live show was a full on circus of sex, drugs and rock n’ roll.

Emerging with a record deal with BMG, SVEN GALI released their debut self-titled release in 1992. From the first chord of “Under The Influence” SVEN GALI made their mark. Follow up singles “Tie Dyed Skies” and “In My Garden” paved the way for the ballad number 6 CanCon song of 1993 that also went Top 10 nationwide, “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore.” As the album went Gold, SVEN GALI won the MuchMusic Best Metal Video Award in 1993 for “Under The Influence” and was nominated for two Junos. With a worldwide release, SVEN GALI toured with the likes of Def Leppard, Foreigner and April Wine.

SVEN GALI’s follow-up, Inwire, was partly recorded in in Seattle with producer Kelly Gray and saw the band take on a more alternative experimental tone. The band broke up soon after the album’s release and played sporadic shows before solidifying a new lineup with original members Dave Wanless (vocals), Andy Frank (guitar) and TT (bass) bringing in guitarist Sean Williamson and drummer Dan Fila from former BMG labelmates Varga.

SVEN GALI’s new release Bombs & Battlescars through Canadian label, Music In Motion Ent, combines the best of both SVEN GALI eras. The album contains five new originals. “One Gun” is a relentless driver that sets the battlefield ablaze with its blistering guitar work and commanding vocals. The massive groove of “Coming Home” and fierce anthem “Monster” showcase Sven Gali's unapologetic attitude while the sonic prowess of “Life Inside” stands side by side with any current alternative metal peers. Closer “Nothing New” showcases the melodic side of the band with a catchy acoustic groove.

Bombs & Battlescars also brings the band full circle with a cover of Triumph’s “Spellbound.” Recorded at Toronto’s Metalworks studio where many of SVEN GALI’s early songs were recorded and demoed, acclaimed Coney Hatch frontman Andy Curran produced the track bringing the song into the modern age. Triumph drummer Gil Moore also appears in the video. The album is filled out with three remastered unreleased tracks from the band’s 90’s recording vault.

SVEN GALI celebrates the Canadian release of Bombs & Battlescars on Friday, October 13, 2024 for both physical and streaming. Videos for “One Gun” and “Monster” are presently available online. The band’s third single, “Coming Home,” is set to coincide with the international release of Bombs & Battlescars on Feb 02, 2024. This date will also feature the debut of “Coming Home” mixed in Dolby Atmos (courtesy of Iguana Studios in Toronto ON) along with a new video for the single.

L.S. Dunes Announce "Lost Songs: Lines and Shapes" Early Raw Versions Of Debut Album // Band Touring With Pierce The Veil In The Fall

Last year, L.S. Dunes — vocalist Anthony Green, guitarist Frank Iero, bassist Tim Payne, guitarist Travis Stever, and drummer Tucker Rule — released their debut album, Past Lives, a boundary pushing synthesis of post-hardcore and punk that became one of 2022's most acclaimed hard rock albums. 

To celebrate Past Lives' first anniversary, L.S. Dunes will release Lost Songs: Lines and Shapes on November 10, 2023 via Fantasy Records.

Raw and radically revealing, Lost Songs: Lines and Shapes features early, stripped-down versions of all Past Lives' 11 tracks. Listening to these songs in their hyper-intense, original form provides a new, completely fresh view into Past Lives, while the uninitiated will appreciate it for what it is, a sterling artistic statement in its own right. Lost Songs: Lines and Shapes was produced by L.S. Dunes and recorded separately across various bedrooms and garages during the pandemic. The arrangements, musical flourishes, and vocals have a looser feel and often contrast wildly from its successor, giving many of these tracks a different outlook and meaning altogether. Three of the tracks are pure instrumentals including the psyche-rock workout "Blender," the grandiose and explosive "Bombsquad," and the dramatic, prog-rocker "Grifter." Similarly, the initial construction of "Grey Veins," "2022," "Past Lives," and "Antibodies," highlight the band's ultra-musicianship as the unvarnished sonics jump out and grab the listener by the throat.

Adorned with the compelling artwork of Travis Smith, the album cover depicts an all-consuming demon of the cosmos fiercely enveloping a tortured soul beneath, perfectly encapsulating the vision and duality that the songs on this record deliver. Founder and drummer Jon Allen shares his excitement about working with Travis once again, reminiscing about their collaboration on Elements of Anger. A formidable darkness flows through tracks like ‘Anarchy’. Evidently influenced by the tumultuous post-Covid times of mass hysteria, looting, and general loss of control, the melody reflects this chaotic environment. Allen describes the track as “more straightforward and in-your-face, hitting listeners right in the gut. ”Despite the intensity, SADUS manages to retain their signature death/thrash blend, staying true to their old-school roots. The aggression remains palpable, allowing their music to speak for itself with raw, unapologetic power.

‘Scorched and Burnt’ follows suit, with its steady beat and chaotic vocals seamlessly intertwining with blistering guitar work. The track gradually transitions into an impassioned melody, igniting a fiery explosion as the song nears its conclusion. Although inspired by the literal wildfires that plagued California during its creation, ‘Scorched and Burnt’ delves deeper into the idea that individuals often feel like someone or something is constantly out to get them. Yet, in the end, the song urges unity, recognizing that every action, even in chaos, ripples through the lives of others.

The process of creating The Shadow Inside was unhurried and unencumbered by unnecessary roadblocks. SADUS allowed their creativity to flow naturally, collecting riffs and writing together in person.The band took their time, nurturing and developing their musical ideas until they evolved into the powerful tracks we hear today. Allen emphasizes that their drama-free and family-oriented approach to making music is one of the reasons their sound speaks so powerfully to their fans. Collaborating with Juan Urteaga of Trident Studios added another layer of refinement to the album, as his expertise in death metal played a vital role in shaping its overall sound.

Jeris Johnson Drops "When The Darkness Comes" Video

The Future of Rock has arrived!

He was not born in a manger, but he is already changing the game. Jeris Johnson is first and foremost a true musician. He has been playing music wsince the age of two and was the drummer and singer in a metal band throughout high school. He has had a love of rock and metal as long as he can remember, but he also developed a love of hip-hop, trap, hyper-pop, and any musical genre that he found progressive and interesting.

"I've become obsessed with this idea of modernizing that super classic metal sound," Johnson shares. "That European metal festival shit with a dash of 808s to piss off the old heads. I want metal to be great. So I listened to the entire 'Black' album (by Metallica) and thought, 'What if I put my own spin on pretty much the best, most iconic shit there is?' That's what 'When The Darkness Comes' is."

Jeris was so dedicated to bringing the world the future of rock music that he sold his guitar in order to be able to work with producer and collaborator SACCO. Together they have already created an urgent and amazing body of work. They have a Gold record for Jeris' song "damn!." which was a viral and streaming sensation. Jeris got Chad Kroeger of Nickelback to perform with him on a remix of "damn!," which also went crazy on the Internet. After Jeris posted a snippet of his reimagined version of "Last Resort" by Papa Roach, the band's singer Jacoby Shaddix heard it and contacted Jeris to do a whole new "Last Resort (Reloaded)" together and make it the official version to mark the 20th anniversary of Papa Roach’s debut album. This song will soon be Gold as well, with over 52 million Spotify streams, plus over 11 million views of the video. 

This led to the release of Jeris' first EP My Sword, which included the songs mentioned above as well as fan favorites such as the title track and "Roses Red." Soon thereafter, Oli Sykes, frontman of Bring Me The Horizon, reached out to Jeris to do a new version of their most popular song "Can You Feel My Heart" and to open for them at a special intimate release show at The Whiskey in Los Angeles. Then, Jeris did a killer collab with massive rapper Trippie Redd on an original song called "Friday." 

Last year, Jeris released his debut album I WANT BLOOD/i want love, which included "Friday" and 10 other bangers including "Going Ghost," "BURNING RUBBER," and his first acoustic ballad "life is underrated." Collaborations with Point North and Zillakami (on a Reloaded of the Slayer classic "Reign in Blood") plus another EP followed. Jeris had done a Reloaded snippet of the Three Doors Down classic "Kryptonite," which got a great viral reaction, and in October of last year ,he released a full version that has also been a viral and streaming success. 

Jeris then went quiet on social media and paused releasing music so that he and SACCO could focus 100% on creating his new album, the details of which are forthcoming!

Jeris is already a battle-tested road warrior despite his brief time as a performing artist. He has toured with Falling In Reverse as well as Korn and Evanescence. He has slain the crowd at every meaningful rock festival and was even the only rock and metal act at the hip-hop festival Rolling Loud a couple years ago.

Release day is upon us, and Satanic Doo-Wop duo Twin Temple have unleashed 'God Is Dead', their most unholy album yet out onto the world. The show also features a special video and recording by the late, and missed, Graeme Edge of his poems ‘Morning Glory’ and ‘Late Lament’. Graeme wrote these poems for the album, but they were originally spoken by Mike Pinder. John asked Graeme to record them so that he could always be on stage with him. Jon Davison of YES also joins John to perform the classic songs, “Nights in White Satin” and ‘Tuesday Afternoon’. Jon is John’s son-in-law and great friend, having originally met back in 2019 on the ‘Royal Affair’ Summer Tour with YES, Asia, John and Carl Palmer.

“The show came about following conversations with Graeme, Alan (Hewitt) and Jon (Davison)… This album and these Moody Blues songs changed our lives, they may even have changed the fans lives, and I felt they deserved to still be heard and experienced live as they were originally intended. My hope is that coming to one of my shows, you can close your eyes and we can all take a moment to turn back the clock as we celebrate this music together. Alan, Jon, and my band have done an incredible job in realizing my vision. It was always important to me to remain true to the original whilst at the same time use modern sound and all the wonderful new technology to reveal the richness of these songs. ‘Days of Future Passed’ was released 56 years ago, and was arguably the start of progressive rock. These songs began the long standing cross-over between rock and classical music, and the Moody Blues shows were always known for recreating this incredible sound, and for the wonderful atmosphere. John has surrounded himself with a band that are equally passionate, who put simply, love performing together, and who appreciate and respect the legacy of the music.

Texas Hippie Coalition Release Video For "Hard Habit"

Heavy Southern Rock band Texas Hippie Coalition releases a new video for their track "Hard Habit," which is featured on the band's riff-heavy, recent album, The Name Lives On. The video was directed by David Parada, and sees the band enjoying the spoils of touring, including a stop at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally earlier this year.

Texas Hippie Coalition is often compared to the many great Southern Rock and Texas bands that came before them.  But they are proving to the world that THC is not just following in their footsteps, they are leaving giant footprints.  THC has etched out a place for themselves in the multi-genre fields of music, and have also created their own genre, "Red Dirt Metal."  You have to hear it to understand it.  Words are not enough to convey how powerfully big their sound is.

American Teeth, the sonic alter ego of Elisha Noll, has shared "Green Thumb."
