Of Virtue Share "Cannibals" Video — WATCH

Michigan metalcore band Of Virtue serve their new single "Cannibals" via Arising Empire.

Watch the video below.

Produced by Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland (August Burns Red, Polaris, Hollow Front), with additional production by Chris Shifflett, mixed and mastered by Dan Braunstein (known for his work for Spiritbox, Dayseeker, and Volumes), this new material hits the listener straight in the face.

"'Cannibals' is set during one of the most dangerous of my road to recovery from alcohol because I was finally taking accountability," says vocalist Tyler Ennis. "Before then, I had never noticed how much my choices affected the people around me. Upon reflection, I hated myself for what I had done to them. I was lying, stealing. I was erratic and unpredictable. Overall, I felt that I deserved every bad thing that happened to me. The hardest part was that I felt more worthless in my sober state than while intoxicated and it got to the point where I believed my actions were beyond forgiveness. Because of that dark time in my life, 'Cannibals' serves to remind myself that we cannot change the past but only learn from our mistakes and that we shouldn't let them shape my our of the world in a self-loathing state."

OF VIRTUE LIVE:
7/15 — Grand Rapids, MI — UpHeaval Fest

Of Virtue were formed in 2008 and catapulted onto the Michigan metalcore scene in 2009 with their debut EP To Breathe Again. Combining elements of melodic hardcore and metalcore into a mosh-friendly and energetic amalgam, the band became a staple within its local scene. Of Virtue issued their debut full-length Heartsounds in 2011, followed by an extensive regional touring cycle. The album found the band expanding on the sound that defined its earlier effort, with lyrics speaking of positivity and determination. It was sonically vicious, yet passionate and inspiring. In 2015, the band dropped Salvation, a sprawling and ambitious example of meticulous and melodic metalcore. Third full-length What Defines You arrived in 2019. That album marked incorporation of alternative styles into a backbone of bold, robust metalcore. Even in the setting of a global pandemic, Of Virtue continued to blossom worldwide, accruing new listeners and fans, effectively expanding their reach even in a time where live performances were all but impossible.

ABOUT GOZU:
This is Gozu's world, we're just living in it. Given that it has been five years since the Boston quartet dropped the monstrous Equilibrium, returning with Remedy is one hell of a way to make sure that everyone — whether previously familiar with them or otherwise — realizes that they are perhaps the most badass of American rock bands, for they have taken everything to the next level.

"There is a certain maturity mixed with a childlike enthusiasm to play music, and we all are better players now than on Equilibrium," says vocalist/guitarist Marc Gaffney. "We have all really tried to look at what we enjoy but more what we do not enjoy. Playing music is a gift and when it becomes A Nightmare on Elm St Part 37.3, you are done." The result is nine tracks of their signature combination of fuzzy, '70s-inspired riffs, rich, catchy, grunge-esque vocal melodies and a touch of old school trippy psychedelia written and played with the utmost passion and enthusiasm, eclipsing everything else in their catalogue. "The band wanted a very heavy groove-oriented album with singalong choruses. We also wanted sonically to hit you in the chest, like a three-combination, left-right-left, like Micky Ward. Harmonies and melodies were something we really looked at and wanted to shine, and thick guitar tones, driving bass and drums were under the microscope."

One element that gave the band a kick in the pants going into Remedy was drummer Seth Botos joining Gaffney, guitarist Doug Sherman and bassist Joe Grotto. "Seth brings such an impeccable work ethic and freshness to the band that it was infectious. He is the breath of delicious fresh air the three old men needed. He reminds us of a young Kevin Bacon/Wayne Rooney." Auditioning drummers ate up some of the time elapsed between records but like for so many bands the biggest obstacle was COVID, which slowed down the whole process.

Recording with honorary fifth member of Gozu, producer/engineer Dean Baltulonis (Death Ray Vision, The Hope Conspiracy) at Wild Arctic studios in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, sessions were unlike any that the band had previously experienced. Botos laid his drums down in just a day-and-a-half, taking all suggestions his bandmates had and putting his signature spin on them, echoing the fact that they were all invested in the process more than ever before.

The band obviously hopes to tour the record after so long off the road, and they would love the opportunity to share the stage with bands they admire. When asked what other unfulfilled goals they have at this juncture, Gaffney answers without hesitation: "To always improve, write better, play better, enjoy everything that we are offered and take advantage of it. I feel we are always setting goals for ourselves so we are not stagnant or believe we can’t do more. The goal should always be to have fun, kill it and let the music set people free. The minute we stop setting goals and challenges for ourselves is the minute we have failed."

Dark Progressive Metal Outfit, VULTURE INDUSTRIES, Release New Single, "New Lords of Light”, + Music Video!

Norway’s VULTURE INDUSTRIES have unveiled the first offering from the band’s upcoming new album! The dark progressive metal quintet is proud to announce that their new LP, ‘Ghosts from the past’, will see a June 16th release, and the first single, “New Lords of Light”, is out today!

The new record, which will be released on Dark Essence and distributed via RedEye, is the band’s first full-length release since 2017’s Stranger Times’.

Speaking about the record’s first single, the band shares:

“Starting life with the working title ‘For Roky’, I felt this one had a haunting feel, reminiscent of Roky Erickson. This was back during the pandemic summer of 2021, and I remember listening to early versions of the track in my car, driving up and down the west coast with my kids in the back. Processing the song in this way probably had a defining influence on the final product, so in the end it turned out upbeat and energetic, yet bound in somber atmosphere that harkens back to the 80s.”

Bergen, Norway’s VULTURE INDUSTRIES are back with their fifth studio full-length.

Commenting on the themes and external influences that inspired the creative process for ‘Ghosts from the past’, the band states:

(this album) was written and recorded in a period of big changes, both in our personal lives and in the world around us, this album is somehow a mirror of this. It reflects fear of a world spinning out of control, and sense of powerlessness in the face of world order falling apart. Crumbling only to be replaced by old ideas fronted by autocratic warlords with no sight in mind but their own power and legacy.”

Detailing the journey of recording the LP, the group adds, “With a writing and production period that started in 2018 and ended last year, the process was our longest haul to date, and for a long time we felt lost and struggling to find a sense of direction. Now, having finished the mix and mastering some months ago, it is a great relief to have some distance from the process and I would say ('Ghosts from the past') is our strongest album to date. We hope you enjoy what is essentially a piece of our soul.”

‘Ghosts from the past’ draws a line from childhood spells of dark mystery and a sympathy for the outcast, to a present where monsters hide under your bed. Waiting, not to prey upon the sleeper, but to hide from the monstrosity of the day. Pulling on a wide range of influences; from dust-riddled Spaghetti Westerns accompanied by Ennio Morricone, past the monochrome melancholia of apocalyptic post-punk, through deep valleys and steep hills shrouded in progressive darkness and a Nordic noir looking to solve the murder of the truth.

Landing on something once described by a fan as “this is how Nick Cave would sound if he made metal,” VULTURE INDUSTRIES has long since established itself as something singular, yet, once familiar, strangely recognizable.

Symphonic Metal Icons SIRENIA to Release New Album, '1977', on May 26, 2023

Pre-Order Starts NOW!

Performance Video for

"Twist in my Sobriety" (Tanita Tikaram Cover)

The symphonic metal icons effortlessly merge 80s rock and synthwave elements on their immense 11th studio album!

Exploring a new style like never before – symphonic metal icons SIRENIA revolutionize their melodic darkness on the brand new studio album, '1977', set to be released on May 26, 2023 via Napalm Records. Transporting the listener to a retro auditory arcade harking back to when groovy synthwave melodies dominated the world of music, the international band merges late 70’s and 80’s pop rock stylings with synthwave elements and their remarkable, hard-hitting symphonic melodies - shaking the listener to the core.

Showing off their multifaceted nature at its best, the first single cut from '1977' comes as an absolute time machine in form of the record's bonus track, “Twist in my Sobriety”.The cover of the million-times-over streamed track by German born British singer Tanita Tikaram matches the surprisingly deep voice that presents vocalist Emmanuelle Zoldanin a very new range, while the eerie mid-tempo appears in a brand new light of modern synth beats and characteristic synth-oboe. Transporting their fans right into smokey, neon lit nightclubs, the eclectic mix of '1977' opens up exciting new facets of symphonic, electronic and groove elements in SIRENIA’s music.

Bandleader, multi-instrumentalist, composer and songwriter Morten Veland states:

“'Twist in my Sobriety' is the first single from our upcoming album entitled '1977'. This is the bonus track of our 11th album, and it is a cover version of Tanita Tikaram's original from 1988. I have loved this song since it was released, and it has a very melancholic vibe to it, so it felt like an interesting project to make a SIRENIA version of it. I hope that you will enjoy it while we wait for the upcoming album release”

Join SIRENIA & watch the performance video for “Twist in my Sobriety"

Captured within the magic of 80’s sonics, the four-piece opens up their enchanting new offering with the mesmerizing opener “Deadlight”. The world of soulful violin and fragile piano lines builds up an energetic atmosphere, underlined by the wistful tunes of the multi-talented mezzo soprano voice of French singer Emmanuelle Zoldan. The track is followed by the fast-paced “Wintry Heart”, which gives a bittersweet taste of early 90’s vibes and roaring guitars, while “Nomadic” represents SIRENIA’s characteristic dark and heavy side as shredding guitar riffs alternate with playful interludes while relentless drums and symphonic electronic elements go hand in hand with one another.

“A Thousand Scars” marks a totally new fusion for SIRENIA, as heavy symphonic tunes dressed as remarkable rock riffs and poppy rhythms dance together with the feathery light vocals of Emmanuelle. With the eerie and epic tunes of “Fading to the Deepest Black”, the song is reminiscent of their last album, 'Riddles, Ruins & Revelations' (2021). Kicking off with vertiginous blast beats and a mesmerizing performance by Emmanuelle Zoldan, a warm vocal interlude by Morten Veland supports the song's stunning atmosphere before it leads into an impressive guitar solo. Following their operatic symphonic highs, the heavy side of SIRENIA is not forgotten and appears especially towards the end of their 11th record.

Pre-Order '1977' HERE!

Once again, Norwegian mastermind, bandleader, multi-instrumentalist, composer and songwriter Morten Veland produced the 11th record, while HK at Vamacara Studio, France, took care of the mixing. It’s proof that, after more than twenty years of existence, SIRENIA still ranks at the very top of the genre.

Speaking on the album's release, Ceschi Ramos shares

“ ‘This Is Crime Wave’ has a nostalgia about it that feels familiar to people our age but, in actuality, there is nothing quite like it.

It’s the album I needed at 16 that nobody ever created for me. We’ve made a record that feels classic & important for the times but could have been felt 20 years ago and will continue to be relevant 20 years from now.

It’s exciting to finally share this with the public & hope people feel the amount of experiences, friendship & caring that went into its creation.”

With producer, accomplice and label boss, Fat Mike emphatically stating

“In forty years this is the most excited I’ve ever been about an album.”

Codefendants released five singles prior to today's release - "Suicide By Pigs", "Abscessed" feat. Get Dead & Onry, "Bad Business" feat. N8NOFACE, "Def Cons" and "Fast Ones" featuring the first new verse from legendary rapper, The DOC in 19 years.

These tracks were each accompanied by a music video that when played in order, combine to create a short film written by Fat Mike that lays bare the hard hitting realities of police corruption and brutality in the USA today. ABOUT CODEFENDANTS

Sam King from Get Dead’s graffiti crew were giving tattoos and making flash art to raise money to help rapper Ceschi Ramos when he was incarcerated. Months later, they met at the Gilman Street Project in Berkeley, California. They bonded, talking about their love of hip-hop and punk rock over a bottle of Jameson. They didn’t know it yet, but they had just started Codefendants.

They began recording songs two years later in Los Angeles with Fat Mike from NOFX as producer. Soon after Fatty joined the band, they decided to make an album that sounded like nothing else - a completely genre-fluid album - a cross between hip hop, new-wave, flamenco, and the Beatles. And thus a whole new genre - Crime Wave - was born. That album entitled This Is Crime Wave will be released via Fat Wreck imprint, Bottles To The Ground.

AFTERMATH Releases New Full Length Album 'No Time To Waste' + Official Music Video for Single "We Can Do This Together"

Stream/Purchase No Time To Waste

https://ffm.to/aftermath-nttw

AFTERMATH released their highly anticipated new album, No Time to Waste via Zoid Entertainment/TLG/INgrooves on March 17, 2023. This marks the third album in a trilogy, and is a departure from the previous dark, concept album installment in the trilogy.

"We are really proud of this album. It completes a trilogy of albums that began with our debut. Written in the darkest period in modern history, we actually wrote this one as an album of hope. We streamlined it from our previous dark concept record. The ten songs on this album are heavy and energized. It’s a metal record with a message and that message is we can do this together but we have no time to waste." - Kyriakos "Charlie" Tsiolis.

To celebrate the release of No Time To Waste, the band released the official music video for single "We Can Do This Together" from acclaimed director Alex Zarek.

WATCH the video here:

Chicago based Aftermath, fronted by Kyriakos "Charlie" Tsiolis, formed in October 1985 when Charlie and his schoolmate Steve Sacco (Guitar) got together. This early incarnation with Adam (Bass) and Ray Schmidt (Drums) released their first demo in 1986 featuring “Sentenced to Death”, “Revenge”, “Shotgun” and “The Aftermath”.

In 1987, they unleashed their second demo entitled Killing the Future featuring the tracks “When Will You Die”, “Going No Place”, “Chaos”, “Meltdown” and “War for Freedom”. The band pursued a mind-blowing speed and technical brand of thrash that soon set them apart from the pack and in the process made them a pioneering crossover thrash band.

The tracks "War for Freedom" & "When Will You Die" were both featured on the British Metal Forces magazine_compilation LP Demolition: Scream Your Brains Out in 1988. Their appearance on the Metal Forces compilation further expanded the band's international appeal.

By 1988, the band's musical direction was changing, and Adam's raw and simple bass lines would soon be replaced with complex and technical bass parts handled at first by John Lovette. Ironically, John never played bass on any Aftermath recording and was not even a bass player. He wanted to join the band so badly, however, that he came to the audition with a friend's bass he had just started to play. The speed and complex playing he displayed were like nothing the members had ever seen before on bass. He landed the gig that day. When the band decided it was time to add a second guitarist, Lovette told his bandmates of his desire to switch to guitar and for the first time he came clean he was a guitar player pretending to be a bass player all along. His bass playing was surpassed by his guitar skills and the band found its second guitar player, but unfortunately the search for a bass player was forced to resume. Luckily, the search (for the time being, anyway) ended with Danny Vega. His warm and precise playing was the perfect complement to the guitar playing of Lovette and Sacco and worked amazingly well with Schmidt's powerful drumming. With Lovette handling most of the song writing duties, Aftermath was about to make an unbelievable musical change.

By 1989, that change brought on by Lovette's writing and the band's musical tastes and stylings had slowed and matured as evidenced by the release of the underground classic demo Words That Echo Fear. Danny Vega was replaced on bass by Chris Waldron. The band went onto to become a trailblazing progressive/technical thrash band in the years that followed.

In 1990, based on the huge international success of the Words that Echo Feardemo, the metal label RoadRacer Records (a subsidiary of Roadrunner Records)approached the band for a demo deal, which resulted in a live four track demo featuring the songs “Eyes of Tomorrow”, “Afraid Of Time”, “The Act Of Unspoken Wisdom” and “Reflecting Pictures". Negotiations eventually broke down and Aftermath signed to New York's Big Chief Records. The label's collapse halfway through the recording sessions led to a long delay in finishing the record. While the band struggled to pay the studio bill, the album the band started to record in 1990 would not see the light of day for four years. The experience left the band reeling and forced them to issue the album under their own imprint with the help of their manager through Zoid Recordings in 1994. Four long years had passed since the initial recordings for the record Eyes of Tomorrow and the scene had dramatically changed.

The album was subsequently re-released on Thermometer Sound Surface / Zoidand released yet again four years (1998) later on Black Lotus Records in a re-mastered version.

Quite famously, Aftermath, in a notable court case Tsiolis v. Interscope. Records. Inc., 946 F.Supp. 1344, 1349 (N.D.III. 1996) sued high-profile millionaire rapper DR. DRE over the ownership of the Aftermath name. The Rapper tried to buy the name for $50,000, which the band rejected. The band sued him. As part of the settlement, Interscope Records signed the band. To the label's surprise, the band delivered a record under the moniker Mother God Moviestar. Its eponymous Electro-Metal debut was released in March 1998. The case has been studied in law schools around the US related to the issue of trademark dilution.

Aftermath has continued to receive critical acclaim as one of the major influences in the genre. The band was featured on pages 9 and 10 of Gary Sharpe-Young's A - Z of Thrash Metal, available on Cherry Red Books. Aftermath is also given an entire feature section in Alexandros Anesiadis’ 2019 book Crossover the Edge: Where Hardcore, Punk, and Metal Collide.

Twenty-five years after its formation, Aftermath's music made its return in 2011 with the release of the Box Set 25 YEARS OF CHAOS on Area Death Productions and the vinyl When Will You Die on F.O.A.D. The reemergence of one of the most original thrash bands ever continued in 2014 with their decision to reunite for several concerts in 2015.

Coming off their first show in 20 years at Ragnarokkr Metal Apocalypse in their hometown of Chicago, the band ripped the stage apart at Headbanger’s Open Air in Hamburg, Germany that summer. In the Fall of 2015, the reunion continued with the reissue of Eyes of Tomorrow. With an expanded booklet and remastered by Paul Logus (Pantera, Steel Panther), Shadow Kingdom Records released the band's debut along with bonus material. Following this release was the Killing the Futurereissue on Divebomb Records. Once again Paul Logus remastered the tracks from their original source and created a wall of sound in the process. Killing the Future, along with the expanded booklet and bonus tracks from the band's 1986 first demo completed the celebration of the band's 30th anniversary.

In 2017, the band started writing the material for their new album. There is Something Wrong is an 11-song opus recorded by Chuck Macak. mastered by Ted Jensen and released through Ingrooves by Zoid Entertainment and The Label Group. A concept record in the truest sense of the word, the album features a mix of old-school crossover thrash and technical/progressive metal and is a commentary on what is wrong with the world today. A calling out of the masses to wake up and know the real enemy. The music is urgent, and the lyrics challenge the listener to seek the truth. Aftermath went back to its early days and revived its crossover thrash stylings on several songs, but those are only samples of what the listeners have in store for them once they put on their headphones and listen to There is Something Wrong in its entirety.

In 2020, Aftermath released a re-imagined version of the John Lennon classic, "Give Peace a Chance". The song was remixed and remastered for the new album and included on the record because of the message.

“John Lennon’s urgent call for peace in Give Peace a Chance is more important today than ever, and our call for peace with this cover is the perfect message to follow up our previous album. We released a dark concept album with a bleak message and felt it was important to follow that up with something positive. The visuals in the video are as important as the lyrics in a way. We live in a visual world today and this video needed to get out the message of HOPE. Having a young girl be the focus of the video was our way of getting that across. Seeing only positive acts when she puts on Lennon’s famous glasses was the perfect visual metaphor. Lennon’s message is transmitted not only through his lyrics but also through the perspective created by his unique lenses” says the band.

The video was directed by critically acclaimed video director Steven Nathan in New York City.

AFTERMATH is:
Kyriakos "Charlie" Tsiolis - Vocals
Steve Sacco - Guitar
Ray Schmidt - Drums
George Lagis - Bass

Ian Munsick Shares "Little Man" from Upcoming Album "White Buffalo"

IAN MUNSICK SHARES SONG FOR HIS SON:
“LITTLE MAN” OUT NOW.

18-Song Album White Buffalo Due April 7

On his upcoming album White Buffalo, due April 7, fast-rising country artist Ian Munsick details the people and places, from the Rocky Mountains to Music City, that have influenced his story. His new track “Little Man” is an ode to his son – to the simple virtue and wholesome integrity of a child – and, ultimately, a reflection on the kind of man Munsick has grown up to be. Listen to the track, penned alongside Adam James and Ben Simonetti, below.

“The best songs are the ones inspired by life-changing events,” Munsick shares. “First love, true love, heartbreak, death, birth… as a songwriter, these monumental experiences continue to bring out the best music in me. Becoming a father is no exception. My life changed forever when Crawford came into this world. Suddenly, nothing was more important. Snow cones, Tonka trucks and sleepless nights began to take over my life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m a better man because of my little man.”

“Little Man” is one of 18 tracks on Munsick’s robust sophomore album White Buffalo (pre-order HERE). The forthcoming project, which comes three years after his critically acclaimed debut Coyote Cry, is an ode to his homeland and serves as a raw, untamed depiction of the American West. White Buffalo has already yielded standout duet “Long Live Cowgirls” with two-time CMA Award winner Cody Johnson. “Long Live Cowgirls” has topped SiriusXM The Highway’s Hot 30 Countdown and has accumulated upwards of 85 million global streams. Other fan-favorite pre-release tracks include “Dig” (listen HERE) and “River Run” (listen HERE).

After a brief vocal rest, Munsick continues to travel the nation on his headlining Long Live Cowgirls Tour. The run features Ashland Craft, with Ned LeDoux, The Munsick Boys, Ryan Charles and 49 Winchester announced as special guests on select dates. He will also hit Stagecoach Festival on April 28 before heading to Nashville, TN for his sold-out, headlining debut at the world-famous Ryman Auditorium on May 16.

About Ian Munsick:
A native son of Wyoming, Ian Munsick is painting a stampeding, spirited portrait of the American West with his sophomore album White Buffalo, due April 7. The 18-track album spans unfiltered tales of romance and ranch life, hard-working anthems with honky tonk hooks and mountain-time odes to family and forever-young fun. It builds upon the spacious, roots-pop beauty he introduced on his major label debut, Coyote Cry. Over the past three years, Munsick has accumulated nearly 400 MILLION global streams and a host of accolades. The 29-year-old has been named an “Artist to Watch” by Spotify, CMT, Fender, MusicRow and more. A seasoned entertainer, having grown up tending cattle by day and playing music in a family band each night, Munsick toured recently alongside country music superstars Morgan Wallen and Cody Johnson. Beyond his noteworthy professional accomplishments, he has also become both a husband and a father. Now the Warner Music Nashville recording artist and multi-instrumentalist is representing his home, and its special cast of people, like never before. The first release from White Buffalo, standout duet “Long Live Cowgirls” (with Cody Johnson), hit No. 1 on SiriusXM’s The Highway Hot 30 Countdown and was named one of Amazon Music’s Best Country Songs of 2022. Fans of Ian Munsick will always find an open heart, natural awe and plainspoken honesty as he rides on… bringing the West to the rest.

HEAVENS EDGE Share New Single, "What Could've Been" + Video!

Jump in your time machine, because we’re going back to the good old days, but 2023 style! The latest HEAVENS EDGE single, “What Could’ve Been”, is out today!

Taken from their upcoming album, 'Get It Right', which will be available on CD/LP/Digital on May 12th. Pre-order HERE

This will be the first official release for HEAVENS EDGE since 1998, when the demos and other rarities collection, considered the band’s second album, 'Some Other Place, Some Other Time' was put out. Original members Reggie Wu (guitars, keyboards), Mark Evans(vocals), David Rath (drums), and Steven Parry (guitars) are joined by newest member, bassist Jaron Gulino (Tantric, Mach 22), who joined the band after the tragic passing of original bassist George G.G. Guidotti.

It has been more than 20 years since their last release, so you won’t want to miss this…

Check out the Video for "What Could've Been"

Formed in Philadelphia, PA in 1987 with original band members Reggie Wu (guitars, keyboards), Mark Evans (vocals), David Rath (drums), Steven Parry (guitars) and George G.G. Guidotti (bass), Heavens Edge immediately began performing on the local club circuit and surrounding areas. Gigging at well-known venues in the rock and metal scene in Philly such as The Empire Rock Club, The Galaxy, and The Trocadero, with nearby prestigious venues Hammerjacks (Baltimore, MD) and the 9:30 Club (Washington, D.C.) becoming regular stops for the group, the band began smashing attendance records and rapidly gaining the attention of local press and radio. The European press started to take note as well, with Metal Forces Magazine publishing features on the band’s building notoriety and Japan's world famous Burrn! Magazine giving them significant coverage as well.

While the 80’s metal scene was in full swing, the greater Philadelphia, PA/New Jersey region had already produced mega-acts such as Bon Jovi, Cinderella, Skid Row, and Britny Fox and labels were on the hunt for exactly what Heavens Edge was delivering. In a flurry of label activity from all the major players in the rock world, Heavens Edgesecured a recording agreement with Columbia Records. Unfortunately, soon after the band was signed, a crazed gunman entered a club the band was playing in and randomly opened fire, striking bass player George G.G. Guidotti. G.G. was hospitalized and required months of rehabilitation to get back into playing shape. All of this delayed the commencement of the album recording for months and slowed the band's momentum.

With G.G. on the mend, Heavens Edge entered the studio in the fall of 1989 and recorded their self-titled debut album with producer Neil Kernon (Dokken, Queensrÿche, Judas Priest). Well received tracks like “Skin To Skin", “Find Another Way”, and “Play Dirty”were all included and in keeping with their reputation for exciting live shows, a live recording of the song “Is That All You Want” was added to the album. [This track was originally recorded during a live radio broadcast on the powerhouse local Philly FM rock station WMMR.] With album artwork and a music video for the first single “Skin To Skin”ready to go, Columbia Records released the album in the spring of 1990. The reviews were immediately favorable and the band hit the road with dates in Los Angeles, Boston, Baltimore, and many others. Heavens Edge was added to the Ronnie James Dio/Yngwie Malmsteen tour, culminating with a seminal performance at The Spectrum in Philadelphia.

The next few years for Heavens Edge saw significant changes. The band was yet another victim of the well-documented shift in popular music tastes of the early '90s and made a label move from Columbia to Capitol Records, as well a guitarist change from Steve Parryto Jimmy Marchiano, all of which led to uncertainty within the group. Live audiences still supported the band, but the industry at large seemed ready to move on from the entire culture that preceded the new era of baby-boomer-influenced dark rock music.

After some time seeking their place in a shrinking market, the band called it quits in 1993. Each of the band members pursued various music ventures. Reggie, George and Davidteamed up with vocalist Shawn Carmen and formed the band American Pie. Jimmy Marchiano joined Dean Davidson’s (Britny Fox) new band Black Eyed Suzan. Stevenlinked up with Tangier vocalist Bill Mattson to form Mattson/Parry. Mark played several solo acoustic shows in European markets and midwestern US cities. None of these ventures achieved the same level of success as Heavens Edge

Though not formally together, the band inked a deal in 1998 with European label MTM and US label Perris Records and released demos and other rarities considered the band’s second album 'Some Other Place, Some Other Time'. This album includes previously unreleased self-titled album B-sides “Rock Steady Rock” and “Just Another Fire”along with songs “Jacky” and “Some Other Place", which were recorded as demos for Capital Records. The next twenty years of activity for the band was not much more than the occasional benefit performance or appearance by an individual band member at various events.

This was all until 2013’s official reunion show with the original line up at Firefest in Nottingham, UK. The event proved so successful that the guys continued the live show momentum with performances on The Monsters Of Rock Cruise, the Melodic Rock Festival in Chicago, and main-stage sets at M3 in the Baltimore, MD area.

They soon returned to their home market with sold-out headline shows at the legendary TLA, Trocadero, and World Café Live. Then tragedy struck again with the diagnosis of lung cancer for G.G. in 2019. He sadly passed away in August of that same year. The band assumed they would never play as Heavens Edge again. It wasn’t until bassist Jaron Gulino (Tantric, Mach 22) and Mark Evans became acquainted that the idea of continuing as Heavens Edge became a reality. Jaron rehearsed with the group and immediately locked in with the band. A live performance with the band on The Monsters Of Rock Cruise soon followed and Heavens Edge now officially had a new member in Gulino.

Now that the band was intact and the audiences were turning up, it was again time for the band to draw the attention of record companies. In 2022, Heavens Edge signed a new global recording deal with Frontiers Music Srl and will release their first studio album in twenty-five years in 2023, 'Get It Right'.

THY ART IS MURDER and FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY make the following joint statement:

"Before we had even completed work on 'The Depressions Sessions' we knew a lifelong friendship had been forged between THY ART IS MURDER and FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY, and that we would have to do another variation of the project. 'The Aggression Sessions' concept was born almost immediately following the completion of the first iteration but has taken many years to finally find the time to record and release it amidst the chaotic touring and music release schedules of both bands. We wanted to take things back to some of our favorite inspirations for writing and performing heavy and aggressive music this time, encapsulating the tone of the EP title. We hope everyone enjoys!

Joining us for round 2, please welcome
MALEVOLENCE into the series. Much love to The Acacia Strain, and thank you to them for being a part of this lineage. Check out their new forthcoming record as well!

Working with friends and peers and avoiding the pitfalls of competitiveness has always been the most rewarding part of being in a band, so as always thank you for the support and opportunity to have this platform. See you all on the road soon!"

MALEVOLENCE's Wilkie Robinson adds, "New Jersey to Australia to Sheffield! it was an absolute pleasure to be involved in this big international metal link-up and a great opportunity for us to have fun creatively outside of the usual expectations. Shout out toEliran Kantor for killing the artwork and Nuclear Blast for making it all happen."

Resolve Share "Death Awaits" Video — WATCH

RESOLVE have today returned with their brand new single "Death Awaits," out now via Arising Empire. It's a track that is both positive and beautifully brutal all at the same time. It follows the band's debut album Between Me and The Machine and sets out a new era for Resolve, with a relentless touring schedule ahead.

Watch the video below

Bassist Robin Mariat says "'Death Awaits' is a creed. Down the line, we all end up the same, and that's something we should embrace and not fear. But while death is — at least in our society — often perceived as something sad and solemn, our track is nearly the opposite: upbeat and ferocious with an hopeful chorus. Creating the music video for this song was the most fun we've had in ages. We gathered about 100 fans and friends, and celebrated our love for life the only way we know how: By beating our skulls to the sound of music together. We especially cannot wait to play this track live on our upcoming European tour starting next week!"

"Death Awaits" is released ahead of the bands forthcoming co-headline tour with Siamese, kicking off on March 31. RESOLVE will also be supporting heavyweights While She Sleeps across Europe in May and will be appearing at this years Hellfest in July.

Ever since their public reveal in February 2017 with the debut single "Exposed," the quartet has been eager to show their peers that they won't settle for anything but greatness. They started out opening shows for Architects, Every Time I Die, and While She Sleeps to name a few.

RESOLVE released their debut album Between Me and The Machine in 2021 and had support from the likes of Kerrang! Magazine, Rock Sound, Metal Hammer and Kerrang! Radio, while their tracks were rightfully placed on Spotify editorial playlists like New Core, New Metal and Kickass Metal.

RESOLVE ARE:
Anthony Diliberto — Vocals
Antonin Carré — Guitar
Robin Mariat — Bass
Nathan Mariat — Drums

Texas Hippie Coalition Releases Video For "Hell Hounds"

Heavy Southern Rock band Texas Hippie Coalition is set to release their new album, The Name Lives On, on April 21, 2023, via MNRK Heavy. The band's seventh studio album is a hard-hitting, riff-heavy sonic assault from beginning to end.  Starting today, fans can presave/preorder the album here.  Texas Hippie Coalition is currently on the road, with U.S. dates through mid-June (full dates below).

The band also releases the punishing video for their first single, "Hell Hounds." directed by Justin H. Reich.  Watch below.

Texas Hippie Coalition is often compared to the many great Southern Rock and Texas bands that came before them.  But they are proving to the world that THC is not just following in their footsteps, they are leaving giant footprints.  THC has etched out a place for themselves in the multi-genre fields of music, and have also created their own genre, "Red Dirt Metal."  You have to hear it to understand it.  Words are not enough to convey how powerfully big their sound is.

BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE Shares Bass Play-Through for "Glory to the King"

Progressive rock trio BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE is now sharing the bass play-through for their recently released single, "Glory to the King!" The song is taken from the band's forthcoming full-length, 'Tempus Veritas,' due on April 14, 2023! The clip can be found below.

Pre-orders are now available HERE. The album can be pre-saved on various digital platforms HERE.

BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE create huge, memorable rock music that combines heavy-hitting savagery with intense melodic beauty. Their technical, fearlessly complex grooves and gigantic sing-along choruses have already earned them a widespread fanbase.

A ferociously tight live band, BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE have toured Europe and the UK extensively, supporting Skunk Anansie, HED p.e, INME and Black Map as well as festival slots at Download, Standon Calling and Planet Rockstock. Black Orchid Empire have sealed the bands reputation as a force to be reckoned with.

Having released their debut album ‘Archetype’ (2016) to universal acclaim, BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE signed with German label Long Branch Records to release the follow up albums ‘Yugen’ (2018) and ‘Semaphore’ (2020). Both albums received stellar reviews and over 3,000,000+ combined streams.

“Tempus Veritas” is a collection of stories that seeks to find compelling imaginary narratives hidden away in what we all think of as history.  Behind every milestone or major event in humanity’s long, complex past lies a treasure trove of possibilities for invention - how did Pope Urban VIII feel when confronted by his friend Galileo about the true nature of the sun?  What really happened during an almost triumphant but ultimately doomed Everest attempt? What was it like to be a Norse settler amongst the Saxons; did the omens of the ancient gods begin to disappear?

In approaching “Tempus Veritas”, BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE sought collectively to push themselves both musically and thematically. Their pursuit of heaviness, melody, emotional power and rhythmic complexity has pushed them to create something they‘re immensely proud of. “Semaphore” was an album of Sci-Fi, this is an album of Hi-Fi. Tempus Veritas.

Randall King Ushers in His Neon Era with "Green Eyes Blue," Out Now

Warner Music Nashville recording artist Randall King’s music is bound to keep people “two-stepping on the dance floor” as noted by CMT, and with his latest release, “Green Eyes Blue,” the Texas native continues to do just that. Ushering in what can only be described as his “neon era of country music”– with tunes that are best enjoyed while swaying under the neon haze at a local honky tonk – “Green Eyes Blue,” written by King and Randy Montana, finds him in awe with the taming of his once wild heart. Listen below.

Debuting the song for the first time from the Grand Ole Opry stage last week (March 15) during his second Opry appearance – exactly one year after making his debut in 2022 – made its meaning even more special. The song finds King acknowledging his wayward past while displaying a vulnerable side and sense of astonishment with the power of the love which saved him:

I was running around all over town
        Fences couldn’t keep me in
All my buddies said I’d be lucky
If I could outrun my sins
It’s like I was saved from the hell I raised
When my gaze locked on you
        Said I’d hate to make
        Those green eyes blue

“I wrote this a couple years back with Randy Montana about this great green eyed girl I know," shares King. "It’s about being a better man and leaving your wild ways behind to not hurt the one you love.”

Fresh off a performance at London’s celebrated C2C Festival, King recently announced he will continue his international trek this fall with the addition of new European tour dates. Known for his road warrior diet of over 150 dates each year touring across the United States, the hustling King will carry the fall leg of his tour through seven new cities in 2023, with stops in London, Manchester and Glasgow in the U.K. and Berlin, Munich, Hamburg and Cologne in Germany.

About Randall King:
One of country’s new crop of modern traditionalists, Warner Music Nashville artist Randall King grew up on the endless plains of West Texas – and his sound is steeped in their timeless beauty with a mix of grit and grace. He grew up singing in the back of a ‘93 Chevy Suburban, mimicking the pure-country vocals of stars like Keith Whitley, George Strait, Alan Jackson and John Anderson and over the years became drawn to the electrifying energy of modern stars like Eric Church, Dierks Bentley and Jason Aldean. After years of hustling and a road-warrior’s diet of 150 shows each year, King produced and released the defiant 2016 EP, Another Bullet, then followed up with a 2018 self-titled album. Now, King is bringing an organic, timeless sound to country’s mainstream with his major label debut album Shot Glass. The 11-song collection, seven of which were co-written by King, centers around a night out at a bar, with each track representing a different point of view of those in the room. The album was named to Whiskey Riff’s Top 40 Country Albums of 2022 and Billboard’s All Genre 50 Best Albums of 2022 (So Far), making him the only male country artist to make the list. With over 200+ million career streams to his name, the 2023 Music Mayhem Magazine and 2022 Pandora and Country Now Country Artist to Watch is looking to the anywhere-and-everywhere future with music that captures the essence of a Western poet who’s never been afraid to be himself.

The return of the Fearless Flying Frog Brigade follows Primus’ wildly popular ‘A Tribute To Kings’ Tour,

Alpha Wolf Announce Lo-Fi "Shh" EP + Video For "60cm of Steel" — WATCH

Melbourne-based metalcore powerhouse Alpha Wolf offer listeners a mellow counterpart to a collection of thrashing originals on their forthcoming lo-fi EP, Shh, out March 31 via Greyscale Records/Sharptone Records. Pre-order the new EP here.

The band has shared "60cm of Steel" in the lead up.

Watch the video below

Created in collaboration with Mik, Alpha Wolf slow things down on the five-track EP, re-imagining fan favorites "60cm of Steel," "Spirit Breaker," "Golden Fate Gut Ache," "Don't Ask," and "Bleed 4 You" as down-tempo, beat-heavy chill tunes. Doused in twinkling soundscapes and atmospheric ambiance, Alpha Wolf unveil a new dimension to their punishing legacy that sets out to appeal to the unsuspecting.

"We think lo-fi as a genre is a great breakaway from our usual heavy tunes and it's something we can show our family at Christmas without getting odd looks," the band shares.

In contrast to the mosh lords lo-fi offering, Alpha Wolf will indulge in their bread and butter this weekend playing Australia's inaugural Knotfest alongside huge names from the likes of Slipknot, Parkway Drive, Megadeth, and more. The sold out festival will travel through Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane beginning this Friday March 24. In addition, this week the band also announces their place as Tasmania's headline act on UNIFY Off The Record in June. Tickets are on sale now.

Over the last few years, the juggernauts known as Alpha Wolf have proven they are a fierce force to be reckoned with. 2020 saw the release of their sophomore album a quiet place to die, which was the culmination of every lesson learned, every hit taken, and every loss felt; and it lead the band to a #6 charting spot on the ARIA charts and nomination for Best Heavy Album at the ARIA awards.

a quiet place to die is the end result of five individuals who have faced the fire and refuse to flinch, pouring their everything into making something they are truly proud of. Through all the chaos these last few years have been able to throw at the band, they've still managed to play multiple headlining runs of sold-out shows, secured places on some of the biggest festivals in Australia, and have their sights set on conquering the international scene. Alpha Wolf have shown that nothing this world can throw at them is going to stop them from tearing apart the metalcore scene.

SONS ON FIRE Release New Single "Collapse" via Curtain Call Records

"Sons On Fire prove why they are not afraid to tap into the emotions of mental health that so many deal with. The diversity of their songwriting can take you from the intensity of “Rise” into the darkness of “Collapse” and not miss a beat."

LA Lloyd/ LA Lloyd's Rock 30 Countdown

"Sons on Fire is on the "Rise" with their latest song "Collapse" to rock radio, it's a must add! " JZ MD 94Rocks KFML-Little Falls

"'Collapse' is the strongest single the guys in Sons On Fire have put out so far. This is a band that has found their sound and identity. I'm very excited to see what they do next!"

Ryan Fantozzi Morning DJ at WQLZ /Springfield, IL

“A band in charge and going for it full-throttle with the music goods to prove it.”

Wayne Benson at 107 ROCK WBRR - The Gator

Sons ON Fire release new single "Collapse" along with the official lyric video to all major platforms via Curtain Call Records. The single was produced and mixed by Joe Marlett (Blink 182, Switchfoot, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age).

“We feel this is the most wide appealing most commercial song we’ve written. It sheds a light on life’s everyday problems and how suicide is not the answer. Everybody has their own problems and issues and we just want everyone to know that help is just a phone call away. You are not alone," says the band's drummer Bill Nychay.

San Diego's own Sons ON Fire has quickly become known to fans around the world as a band bound and determined to make its mark among the heavy hitters of modern rock. You could hear it as their first singles "Faded" and "Just A Man" (Pavement Music) tore up the charts for almost a full year and they have now reloaded with the addition of vocal heavyweight Josh Marin and guitarist Shawn Morgan (formerly of Papercut Massacre/Wind-Up Records) along with founding members Trevor Edwards, Bill Nychay and JK MCKinney aka Johnny Fingerz (both formerly of Kicking K8/Crash Music/EMI).

This lethal combo has created a synergy resulting in an amazing new partnership with Curtain Call Records, huge performances ( Puddle of Mudd, Trapt, Tommy Vext, Black Top Mojo and Saving Abel) and culminated with the release of their first single “Rise”; an anthem for everyone looking to “Get Up and Rise” over whatever is keeping you from moving forward in life. The band has had tons of experience performing with heavy hitters Disturbed, Stone Sour, Seether, Black Label Societyand many more. They are influenced by the likes of Sevendust, Motley Crue, Jimi Hendrix, Staind, Chevelle and Three Days Grace.

This band has faced it and even been knocked down at times, but being knocked down does NOT mean knocked out. The great ones get up, dust themselves off, kick adversity in the teeth and push forward to “Rise” up bigger and better than ever. THAT is Sons ON Fire!

In this world today you can either “embrace” and overcome what the world throws at you or be “destroyed” and crushed by it. Sons ON Fire chose to “Get Up and Rise” in order to bring its new music to the people. Embrace THAT or get out of the damn way!

ONICKS: paying homage to Britney Spears with "Toxic" release

LA-based singer, songwriter, and sinister-pop performance artist, ONICKS (they/them), is paying homage to Britney Spears with their first release of 2023, “Toxic.” An iconic song that’s already very dark and sexy, ONICKS was determined to recreate it with their own vision. ONICKS elaborates; “I studied many iconic hits from the 80’s in order to get my accent as authentic as possible. My producer Jakaval (Jordie Arrieta) created the PERFECT ONICKS meets the 80’s track. We made sure to use some of Britney's signature musical accents throughout, while also recreating this song to be even darker than the original, in true ONICKS fashion.”

“Toxic” came to fruition when Streamy Award Winner Brandon Rogers asked ONICKS to create a cover for his new YouTube series, “Bryce.” In addition, for the first time in his career Brandon will be co-starring in the upcoming music video for “Toxic,” directed by Liam Krug. ONICKS; an artist who has emerged from the well of despair to bring hope to those that are on the same or parallel journeys. Being a strong voice for others to receive inspiration from has always been a shining light throughout any project ONICKS takes on. Merging the worlds of Electropop, Alternative R&B, Trap, and Pop to form their own genre coined: “Sinister-POP” - they are defining a new sound featuring raw and mesmerizing lyrics which appeal to all generations, sexualities, genders, races, ethnicities, and backgrounds. “Blurring the lines between masculine and feminine is my entire DNA. I don’t make music for “he, she, straight, gay, etc”…I make music that any human can sing for themselves” ONICKS states.

Growing up in California and Colorado, ONICKS was influenced by many artists, each playing a transformative role in their development. The femininity of Prince, the hypnotizing writing style of Lana Del Rey, the bluntness of The Weeknd, and the visual chameleon that is Rihanna led ONICKS to where they are now. However, the narrative of their life took a tragic turn as ONICKS succumbed to the temptation of hard drugs at an early age. Rejected by the mainstream music scene at 19 because they were not yet a fully “recognized” artist, and struggling with their sexuality, femininity, and image; they were fuelled by the desire to escape their personal circumstance. Drugs offered a false reality of hope and survival, but it was music that saved their soul. It offered ONICKS the emotional strength to change their life as they were battling with anxiety, depression, and addiction. Now, after experimenting with countless genres, a true realized artist arises from the ashes of their own self-destruction.

About Tigirlily Gold:
Sister duo Tigirlily Gold has been playing music together since they could walk, and officially formed their band in high school. Growing up, they crisscrossed the mid-west, growing a fierce fan base and selling out amphitheaters across their home-state of North Dakota. After moving to Nashville, they landed a weekly residence at Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row on Nashville’s famed lower Broadway. Playing four-hour sets, three to four nights a week, the sisters developed a performance style that’s not only captivating and fun but shows just how much entertaining is in their blood.

After releasing their original song “Somebody Does,” in 2021, the track topped the iTunes chart and Tigirlily Gold was signed to Monument Records. They released their self-titled, debut EP in July 2021, working with multi-Grammy Award Winner Shane McAnally, and hit the road with artists Walker Hayes and Ashley McBryde.
